ANZU ANZU MY DARLING MY BELOVED JOCK BALLERINA WHO PROBABLY KILLED A GUY IN S0 I will put this on the record for all to see, when I checked "Literally I would kiss them" on all the other character boxes I meant "I would tenderly smooch their forehead and hand them some werthers candy" but with Anzu literally I would kiss her <3

Damn I wish I didn't have to check the "everyone else is wrong about them" and "fandom is so mean" boxes about Anzu because people really have come around on her quite a bit since the Dark Days of Early YGO Fandom, but I still see enough rancid ass takes about my sweet baby angel on Al Gore's Green Internet that it shocks me. I think the most shocking thing is that a not insignificant amount of her behaviour maps 1 to 1 with Kaiba (roasting people with snappy quips, solving problems with violence, putting oneself in grave danger to see one's ghost pharaoh crush, etc etc) and yet Kaiba gets to be the Fandom Meow Meow and Anzu still. STILL!!!! Gets the 'bitch' label slapped on!! You're all WRONG!!! KAIBA IS THE BITCH. IT'S KAIBA.

ALSO P.S. IF YOU COUNT THEM, JOUNOUCHI & ATEM GIVE MORE FRIENDSHIP SPEECHES THAN ANZU DOES. BY FAR. IT'S JUST THE NUMBERS. Anzu is an amazing friend and we love that about her, but she is out there beating up the guy who made fun of you behind the lockers and then offering you a half crushed granola bar out of her purse for comfort and you take it because you just watched her beat someone up and you're not arguing with her. Jounouchi is the friend making earnest sappy declarations of eternal friendship and probably crying at the end while you awkwardly pat his back. Atem is the friend making earnest sappy friendship speeches that veer off into extremely questionable metaphors and uh oh now he's talking about something that sounds suspiciously like organized crime in the name of friendship, but it's okay, go off king. Honda is the friend making sure you wear a jacket and giving you a non-crushed granola bar out of his bag plus a Gatorade too because he thinks you look a bit dehydrated. Get Yuugi's entourage straight y'all!!!

(Also I desperately want Anzu and Kaiba to be friends and roast people together, but also in the friendship Kaiba gets roasted most of all, and he kind of respects it so he keeps hanging out with her.)

Catastrophic thought .......... Anzu and Yugi are walking to school together one day ... they run into Jou on the way, he's being weirdly cagey ... they realize he's got a black eye and a bandage on his nose ... Instant Concern but Jou INSISTS he's fine and not to worry and if they take any longer they'll be late for school and ANZU WHAT ARE YOU DOING . Anzu drags both of them to a public restroom and goes "well if you don't want us to know then fine but that means the teachers Definitely don't need to know so let me help" ... and Jou's like "..... yeah ig ....." and she helps him cover up the bruises with a bit of make up she has and it's not great but it works and the teachers don't notice a thing, nobody asks questions and it's great (Yugi has to Really talk Yami down from picking a fight because "no don't it would just make Jou feel worse you know this :(((" and Yami's like "ugh fine,, but I'll remember this")

Fantasy AU #1: Just silly shenanigans and all of the characters are different fantasy creatures or have some kind of magic. Some angst, but mostly whimsy and fun

Fantasy AU #2: Imagine the War except it's a literal war and the executions are literal and people are dying left and right. Some characters are still fantasy creatures, but there is no whimsy, just pain

MILGRAM AU: Based on the YouTube series MILGRAM. Anzu, a girl with no memories but her name, wakes up as the warden of MILGRAM prison, tasked with judging the sins of the 10 prisoners, and has to decide whether they are guilty or innocent

Your Turn To Die AU: Based on the game Your Turn To Die. Tomoya and Hajime are walking home from school one day when they are knocked out and brought to a mysterious location with other clueless people. Being stuck in a death game with puzzles and voting, they have to try and survive

Crazy:B centric Horror AU: Rinne, Niki, and Kohaku end up getting caught in a horrible storm while traveling home, so they end up stopping at a nearby house for a place to stay. They meet a man named HiMERU. He allows them to stay, but on one condition: no matter what they hear, they cannot leave their room once they get ready for bed. (AKA: HiMERU suffers. A lot)

Some game self inserts do their job being good player inserts and being as unobtrusive and removed from the narrative as they possibly can while still getting most of the credit for the work. And then there are the player inserts where you're not projecting on them, they are projecting on you and you cannot escape now, you are part of the narrative, what do you mean this isn't what you wanted?

Oh, that's a new one for me!

Anzu is trying desperately to make a nice dinner for her girlfriend, because this girl is a tryhard that doesn't do anything halfway and puts her whole heart into everything. But! The grocery store was busy so she gets home later than she planned, now she's rushing a bit in the kitchen. She's trying to make sure everything is ready before Miho arrives but feels the pressure of the clock ticking down. She turns the heat up on the stirfry, goes to get the drinks out of the fridge, checks on the rice (it's looking good), and she turns around to stir her stirfry, then turns away to do some of the dishes, but oh no! She knocked into the handle of the wok and it tumbles off the stove, throwing hot, half-cooked stirfry and oil all over her apron and her clothes and especially her feet! Anzu tries to jump out of the way, but the hot wok still hits one of her feet, and she cries out from how hot it is.

Right then, Miho comes home! She rushes forward because of the obvious state of chaos and Anzu being on the verge of tears. They turn off the stove and get Anzu's burns seen to first: thoroughly rinsed with cool water, bandaged with Neosporin, Miho kissing her cheeks and assuring her that everything is fine, and she just cares that Anzu is okay. She changed into comfy clothes over her burns. Then they go to the kitchen and clean up the half-cooked food off the floor. They do the dishes together, order a pizza, and have a peaceful night in. Miho cuddles her girl extra to make sure she's not upset by how dinner went.

How did I do? I rarely ever touch yuri. Did I do okay?
