Summary: Spencer makes an Instagram and stumbles across reader’s page.

A/N: This is Season 10 Spencer with Season 13 looks. Also, instead of it being Kate on the team, i put Emily instead because who doesn’t love the season 3-7 team? Also I might make a part 2 depending on how much this blows up. Honestly i’d be happy if i got one like. Anyways.. hope you enjoy!!!

It was 8:00 in the morning. Spencer walked in the doors of the bullpen to the bau. He sat his satchel down and began to settle in for a long day of work. It was pretty early so the team wasn’t in yet. Except for Aaron Hotchner who had gotten in an hour prior to Spencer and been in his office ever since. Apparently others had the same ‘get to work early’ mindset as Spencer. Spencer opened a case file but his attention was quickly whipped away due to the sound of the door opening. He sees Penelope Garcia with all her attention focused on her phone. Spencer quirked his eyebrows when she bumped into a fellow coworker and her attention remained on her phone while quickly mumbling a quick “sorry”. As she passed his desk, Spencer decided it would be the great time to speak. 

“Hey, Garcia.” Her feet came to a stop and her head snapped up at him. 

“Boy wonder! I’m so glad you’re here. I really need someone to talk to because if I don’t I’m going to explode!” She sits in the chair across from his desk. 

“Is everything alright?” He leaned back in his chair. 

“No… no everything is not alright. If anything.. everything is all wrong. Very very wrong. I-“ she takes in a deep breath “I was stalking Kevin’s page because the other day I seen him at the mall with another girl. And while I was 56 weeks down in his page, I accidentally liked a picture.” She explained, in a huff. 

“I’m afraid I don’t follow.” Spencer was even more confused now than before she started. 

“I liked a picture that he posted 56 weeks ago!” Her eyes were wide.

“How is that a bad thing?” His lips pouted as he’d never understand social media. 

“Ugh! Reid, you really need to get with the program and get you an Instagram. That means his picture was old and now he knows that I was looking at his page. You understand now?” She asked. 

“Oh. Yeah I understand. It’s bad that he knows you were looking at his page.” He asked as Prentiss, JJ, and Morgan had walked in. 

“Yes. And now I must go into the bat cave and wait for him to call or text me and ask what me lurking on his page was about.” She whined as she stomped her way to her office. 

“What was that about?” Prentiss asked, setting her bags down on her desk. 

“Uhh- rough morning” Spencer shrugged, still not really understanding the whole social media thing. 

“Hey do you guys have an Instagram?” He asked the three. 

“Yeah but I’m barely on it.” Prentiss answered.

“Same here” says Morgan as he takes a seat at his desk. 

“Yeah but I only get on to post the boys and myself sometimes” answers JJ. 

“What about Hotch and Rossi?” He asked.

“Yup! Rossi likes to post about his expensive wine and cigars. Hotch posts Jack every once in a while and a throwback Thursday.” JJ says. 

Spencer’s eyebrows furrowed for what seems to be the 100th time that day. 

“He doesn’t know what that is” Prentiss looks over to JJ.

“It’s something you post like an old picture of yourself every Thursday.” Morgan explains.

“Do you guys do that?” Spencer asked.

“I did last Thursday.” JJ pulls out her phone and opened the app. “This was right after Emily, Penelope, and I caught a guy who was trying to pick up Prentiss by pretending to be an FBI agent a few years ago.” She chuckled showing him a picture. 

Spencer takes her phone in his hand and examines the post. 142 likes. 57 comments. He clicks on her name which takes it to her page. 302 followers. As he scrolls, he sees a picture the team took a while ago and sees a little person profile thing the corner and clicks on it causing other names tagged to each individual team member. Except him. After he examined all of their profiles, he gives JJ back her phone and gets to work like the rest of them. He felt a little left out but he knew it was because of his own decisions and not his team. He liked that they didn’t press him about having a social media because they new he was more old school than anything. And it was ironic because he wastage youngest member of the team with the more old school habits. 

When Spencer got home he decided he wanted the social media app. The idea of being able to share with his friends and only his friends excited him. Being able to post about his favorite things for his friends to see without talking their ears off.

He opened his phone and went to the app store, typing “instagram” into the search bar. He followed the sites instructions as he made his account. Using a snapshot he took of his bookshelf as his profile picture. He sees the option to add the people in his contact list which was only his team, mom, and his mother’s caretaker. But everyone’s profile popped up and he quickly followed each and every one of them. Except for his mom and her caretaker of course. 

Soon enough, he got a follow back from Garcia, Hotch, Rossi, and JJ in that order. Morgan and Prentiss weren’t lying when they said they weren’t on often.

After two weeks, Spencer hasn’t posted anything yet, not knowing what should go on his profile. Morgan and Prentiss ended up following him back and the app ended up adjusting to his interests. Nothing but accounts about interesting facts, books, and doctor who. 

It was Friday night and the team had just got back from a case in Chicago. Spencer opened the door to his apartment and set his satchel down on the couch, exhausted. His mind wonders to get something to eat being that he wonders to get something to eat being that he hasn’t ate since before they caught the unsub. Which was about 5 hours and 7 minutes ago but he still needed to get something into his system. Spencer opened his fridge and sees 3 day old Chinese takeout. He shrugs and pops it into the microwave while looking for a book of his to reread while he eats. After he finishes dinner, he gets on his phone and subconsciously pulls up the app. He clicks onto his explore page to discover something else he likes. While scrolling, he sees a picture of someone reading and clicks on it.

Spencer smiles and clicks the heart button and bookmarks it to look at later.  He liked the picture. Both the picture and caption reminded him a lot of his own love for books and the color green (hence his apartment). 

Once he got out of the shower, he brushed his teeth. He found himself subconsciously scrolling through his instagram bookmarks to find her post. He doesn’t know what it was but something about the picture brought comfort to him. As he brushed his teeth, he clicked on the post once again.This time, he actually clicked on your account. It was a private account with 186 followers. The bio read:

Y/N... bookworm.

Her profile picture consisted of a black cat surrounded by either a bunch of well taken care of plants or artificial ones. His finger hovered over the blue “follow” button. As he bent down to spit his toothpaste out, his thumb accidentally clicked the follow button. But he didn't realize so until he looked down again to see the “follow” button replaced with “requested”. His heart basically drops out of his ass. He quickly clicks the button again, taking back his follow. 

It was now one in the morning, Spencer laid in bed awake staring at his ceiling. Once again, he clicks onto the app. He scrolled down his timeline and saw a picture Penelope posted of one of her new desk animals with the caption “Got her at a thrift shop! Isn’t she cute??”. He saw that Hotch and JJ liked 45 other people. JJ also commented with two red hearts. Spencer likes the post and keeps scrolling. His thoughts wander to the post about the girl again. He’s never thought about a social media post this much since he’s created an account. He wonders what sparked his interest so much about this one. As he makes his way to the post, clicking on her account. Debating if he should follow her. She’s a total stranger. Do the others follow strangers? There’s no way JJ knows 302 people in real life. He mentally shrugs and presses the follow button. Requested. Again.

He swipes out of her account back onto the post now seeing that she commented on it.

It was commented thirty six seconds ago. Meaning she’s currently active. Again, Spencer’s heart sinks and he immediately regrets his decision. Going back and unfollowing her. He doesn’t know what to do with himself. He’s a mess. Over a stranger. But he feels like an idiot. Reacting the way that he did just because he saw that she was online. So he goes and follows her.... again.

After clearing out all of his apps, he turns off his phone and lays down trying to get some sleep before work in a few hours. His thoughts wander to her. What she was like. if she was nice or mean. If she was socially awkward or very outgoing. Before his thoughts could get too far into what she was like, he receives a notification from instagram. He opens his phone and clicks on the notification. His heart began to pound when he saw it.

He clicks on it.

Spencer completely forgot that other people got notifications and now he felt like some kind of creep.

spencerreid I’m sorry. I came across your friend’s Instagram post wishing you a happy birthday and i guess i got curious and wanted to follow you if that makes any sense. 

He felt so dumb.

I’m the mum friend of the group and am also the resident therapist of my friend group as I’m a good listener, I’m always taking care of others and helping them with their problems. I’m pretty loyal and if I find out someone is talking bad about someone I love deeply, it’s on site. I like music, fashion, makeup, dancing, writing, reading and any other forms of art. thank you for sending this in!!!!! so first, stray kids. the first person that came to head was chan, he’s smart and he knows a lot of things, i just remember him telling us fun facts on vlive so i feel like you guys could spend nights just talking about you favorite subjects up into the late hours of the night. chan is also really thoughtful i feel like he’s playful but it’s also very light and he makes sure you know he’s joking whenever he does tease you, so i feel like that would match you very well. he gives amazing advice and he’s such a comforting person i feel like, too so that would be perfect for you :) when you had a long day you could just run up to him and he would just give you a hug and let you talk about it if you wanted and i feel like he would be so good at calling you down and making you feel safe, cuz like, his aura is so calming and comforting if that makes sense 😭😭😭 also, he has huge arms LIKE HAVE U SEEN HIM? he def gives good hugs 🤞🤞. both you and chan are really caring and look out for people a lot, and are extremely loyal so i feel like those two things go well for each other, since you both are always looking after others u need someone look are you, yk? i feel like if you two are just hanging out at the studio he would do more subtle things to make sure your okay, like ordering you coffee even if you didn’t ask, turning around and talking for you a bit so he could see how your doing, sorts of things like that. i feel like studio dates would probably happen a lot, and you guys would probably sit on the couch and work on songs together, he probably has a separate file that is just songs that you both have made together :( THATS SO CUTE and chan is also very passionate about music, writing, reading (i know he does read at least some, because some of his songs are related to books🤞) so you guys have that in common, you both could spend hours talking about that anywhere, the car, under the stars, in bed at 5am, and you wouldn’t even realize what time it was until your voices start to hurt.

now for ateez i’m kinda torn, i ship your hongjoong + san..... i’ll just write for both of them 🙄✋. so hongjoong + san, their zodiac signs go well with yours, SO ITS MEANT TO BE. you both could compare your signs together or make a chart together and just talk about the stars and the universe under the sky, wait thts actually so cute...ANYWAYS. okay so both of them are introverts, i thiught san wasnt, but anyways i feel like dating an introvert as an introvert myself it would just, work. because we would understand each other and we could have dates that are more on the quiet side and not as crowded together without draining ourselves. san is such a hyper person, you both could just talk and talk and joke around in your bedroom and you would have the time OF YOUR LIFE, like that man is so goofy and funny i feel like. hongjoong is more on the calm side, and he always knows what to say, i feel like with him your relationship will be more romantic, and san would be romantic as well but more on the goofy side? both hongjoong and san are extremely comforting, to me at least, and it’s another aura thing 😭😭but i feel like both of them would just hug you if that’s what you wanted or just sit with you and calming stroke your hair or hold your while you calm down and they would do breathing excersies if you wanted with you, and they would sit there for how ever long you needed and help you calm down, and if you wanted to talk about it they would give all their attention and give you the best advice they could think of in that moment....cries get me a hongjoong and san. san is also very very loyal, and i feel like this man would kinda be protective, like even in the little things, hongjoong too. like if you were about to run into something he would gently pull you away, if someone won’t stop texting you he would send them a message himself to tell them to stop, and if found someone hurt you, this man will not calm down until they apogized, you have to hold this man back from talking to someone that upset you himself 🙄✋. he would never do anything that you didn’t wanted, but he really just wants to know who hurt his baby, you your his baby, btw. THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOUUUU, need a hug, won’t let go for hours, want to go to disney? he already bought the tickets. ANYTHINGGG, cried your relationship would be so precious

okay for twice...IM GETTING JEONGYEON VIBES OKAY IDK????? when i was reading your description (which by the way you seem like such a cool person omg woah you seem so cool and beautiful), i just thought of jeongyeon. shes very funny i feel like so she could make you laugh for hours on end, and she’s caring too. i feel like she would also care for you in subtle ways like bringing you a blanket if it’s cold or ordering extra of her food for you even when you said you weren’t hungry, holding your hand in big crowds, she would always ask if you were okay or comfortable, but through out the day i feel like she would do those actions and she would just be :(((( SO CUTE. dies i love her, i love her so much. also jeongyeon seems like she would give such good hugs oh my gosh, whenever she would hug you you could just feel safe and comforted and loved, and she always knows whenever to hug you, like you had a stressful day? she’s already running and hugging you and starting your favorite movie and letting you rant. she would be such a good listener too, like no matter how much you rant to her she would remeber the little things that you told her and would make note of it and just, do things to suit you better, yk? she always wants the best for you, and is always looking out for you. she’s also very very loyal, and she’s so truthful too. she tells you anything that happens and your guys relationship is just so healthy :(((. and whenever you talk passionately about your interest, she would sit there and listen and talk about it with you, and she just thinks your so smart (which u are!) and shes just in awe with all the knowledge that you have, like that’s her favorite thing about you. she loves how passionate you are and that you love so many things, she could just sit there for hours listening to you talk :((

The Day before Christmas

Tis the season to be late with Christmas falalalalala~ This took a little longer than we anticipated. xD I got the massive honor to team up with the talented @cheebsrtd​ to create a fic with 5 gorgeous pieces of art! ♥‿♥ You will find them in between the story, to see them separately check out @cheebsrtd​ blog! Here is a piece of an original fic thing that I’ve been working on, on and off, for a few years - I thought I’d put some of it up here, but I can’t find it, so maybe I never did! Here’s the beginning...

The sunshone with all its might, waking up. Jumped through open curtains andembroidered wall-hangings to land on the bed. In all fairness, it was a verycomfortable bed. Royally so.

 “Why,”Jamie grumbled, and burrowed more firmly beneath goosedown, “am I married to aman who thinks early mornings’re a possible thing?”

 Brendansat on the edge of the mattress, contemplated briefly what his Small Council wouldthink of their king if he held the morning’s meeting in bed, and offered to hisRoyal Consort’s hair, “I made you cocoa.”

 “Choices,choices…warm under here, chocolate out there…”

 “I loveyou.”

 “Oh, handit over, then.” Blue eyes appeared, along with the rest of that beloved hair,sticking up in fantastical dark auburn loops and curls. Acres of freckles flewin cinnamon stardust over pale bare skin; Jamie regarded this adornment with occasionaldisgust—“No one takes a magician with freckles seriously!”—and Bren orbitedaround him with sun-cream on ceremonial outdoor occasions, a tall skinny brown-huedplanet with a purpose, and ignored his own dignity in favor of preventing hishusband’s nose from scorching.

 Hishusband. Six months in, and that continued sounding glorious. He wanted to sayit all the time.

 Jamietook a sip of cocoa, sighed in bliss, closing his eyes. “Not fair,” Bren said,watching, wanting. “I can’t stay.”

 “Whynot, again? To both.”

 “Youand the cocoa. Enjoying yourselves without me. You know I have the morning’s councilmeeting…the hunt arranged for the duke and duchess of Castilia…”

 “Thecocoa and I are very happy together. We may elope. We’ll find strawberry fieldsto live in. I wish you didn’t.”

 “Iknow.” He wasn’t thrilled about the idea either. Partly Jamie’s influence; buthe’d never been enamored with wasteful killing even before that. Still, it wasexpected. Royal treatment for the foreign nobility, brother and sister, who’dmade it clear they expected proper diversions during their state visit.Entertainment on a lavish scale. Acceptable pursuits, pun intended. At least itwas boar, and they could hopefully eat it.

 Mostmagicians of bygone days—at least, the ones generally regarded as good magicians—had given up the eatingof animal flesh as cruel. Jamie hadn’t, from complicated reasons ranging from achildhood-enforced insistence on anonymity, a very personal preference forbacon, and the more recent awareness that the life of Royal Consort didn’talways allow the choice. He couldn’t be present for hunts, though. They bothknew that.

 He’dtried one time, the first month they’d been married. One of the barons’dplanned a day to honor the newlyweds, and they’d gone.

 Brenhad noticed him missing halfway through the hunt. Had wheeled his horse around,frantic. Found his husband slumped against a tree and trying not to vomit intothe bushes, white-faced with reflected dizzy terror, every life-or-deathemotion being shouted from their fleeing fox quarry.

 He’dknown precisely when the dogs had caught up. Jamie hadn’t been able to stand.

 He’dnever asked since. Their visitors would no doubt take the Royal Consort’sabsence as a slight; he didn’t care. Jamie did, and had tried to argue that he’dbe better prepared in the future, stronger defenses. Brendan had said flatly,“No,” and left it there.

 They’dhad that discussion before, though, made all those arguments more than once. Thismorning, drenched in cool gold winter sunshine, was too lush and shining tocontain them again. He watched Jamie drink half the cup in one longunconsciously elegant swallow, and licked his own lips inadvertently when thattongue slipped out to catch the last drops.

 “Mmm.All right, more awake. I love you.”

 “Loveyou. What’re you up to, today?”

 “I’mmeeting with your education ministers about locating that new college forscholarship students, and then I’m going to see about the fertility ofyour—sorry, our—hayfields in the West Pasture, and then I’m arguing with thatgrimoire from your library, the one in Old High Gael that thinks you can getlightning out of a turnip. Is there more cocoa?”

 “Yes.Can you?”

 “Probablynot. Or not unless you’re a better magician than I am and ask very politely, ina language I don’t know. Your ministers don’t think there’s any problem withtheir suggested college site, by the way. I think it’s too small. They can’timagine anyone will enroll.”

 “Weneed an educated populace so that people don’tthink you can get lightning out of turnips.” His parents had been greatadvocates of literacy for all, regardless of birth or wealth or order ofprecedence. They’d opened grammar schools in the four quarters of the capital;Brendan, on succeeding to the throne, had made continuing the legacy hispriority.

 Hewould’ve anyway—he’d grown up on books and stories and the glowing excitementof long-ago days and the tale of his kingdom—but he was doing it for them, too.Meant more, with that reason behind it.

 “I’m onyour side with this one. They’ve suggested that big rocky site outside theNorth Gate. It’s all granite, underneath, that hill; I wonder if I could talkto it, at all…ask it nicely for more space…”

 “No,”Bren said, and refilled the cocoa. “Not without me to catch you. Did you eatenough, yesterday?”

 “Yes, Idid.” That tone said you ask that everymorning and also I don’t actuallymind that you ask that every morning. It said so with a smile.

 He’dalways thought the tales of sorcerers demanding three-foot-high marzipancastles and spun-sugar candy-floss mice after great workings must beexaggerated. It’d turned out that they were, but only insofar as his particularmagician husband preferred to eat three dozen home-baked chocolate biscuitsstraight from the oven, drink four cups of sugared tea, and fall asleep for twodays.

 Thechocolate biscuit incident had happened because the cataclysmic floods in thenorth hill farms hadn’t. Brendan had stood there utterly amazed and delighted,and then horrified, as Jamie had very politely accepted thanks from thefarmowners and homesteaders, walked carefully around a barn and out of sight,and then collapsed into a heap on the ground, energy and reserves completelygone.

 Twoweeks ago, that day. He was having a difficult time not hovering. He’d lost hisparents the day he’d inherited the throne; a year later he’d found, against allodds, the beautiful supernatural generous-hearted love of his life, and thenJamie had saved his people and fallen unconscious into his arms.

 Mightbe the worst single moment of his life, behind that barn. He hadn’t said thatout loud.

 “Ireally do loathe that book.” Jamie was halfway through the second mug of cocoa.“It’d probably help if I actually spoke Old High Gael. Trying to read throughan eight-hundred-year-dead scribe’s fingers gives me a headache.”

 “Is itworth that?” Some days he just let the more astonishing pronouncements go. Lifewith a magician. With the only living magician in recent memory; and he had tosmile. Jamie had wanted him.

Exactly. We will never know his true reason (publicly). If he make a mistake he will learn from that one too. I can understand that no one understands it now, but maybe if he wins that CL.... 

I mean for now people can sulk and I think many will for a while... Barca will look different without him, play different etc It will have a big effect on our season, but hopefully we will recover from him leaving. And he will do good too.

Of course! Sorry this took a longer amount of time, I wanted it to be as comprehensive as I could make it, and hopefully make it original as well. This is by no means all the questions that you should answer when making a character, but it does include questions I believe will help you in developing your character as a real person. 

These are also not in any particular order, either. You can skip questions, etc. These can work as prompts to help you really develop your character as well. Not everything will be something that should go in a bio. 

In addition, I am combining this ask with part of another. The other ask reads as such:

Is your character a risk seeker? ( This does not necessarily mean jumping out of airplanes and climbing mountains - though it certainly can be. It can also be in their personal relationships. What is your character’s education level? Did they complete high school, college, grad school? Did they enjoy it? Do they regret that it’s over, do they want it to be over faster?

What type of area do they live in? 

Economic status? Has this changed throughout their life? 

Jobs -- have they worked the same one all their life, are they happy where they are, are they training for a new one? 

Age, birthday, hair color, height, body type. 

Is your character part of any communities? For example: their town, girl/boy scouts, chess club, senior living center -- or more broadly, are they part of a community like an LGBTQ community? 

What labels do they have for themselves? Sexuality labels, gender labels, other labels (like considering yourself a writer or an artist or a crafter or an adventurist). 

Can they swim? Who taught them how to swim? 

Thoughts on animals? Are they an animal lover or neutral on animals? 

Same with plants. 

Would they ever consider going white water rafting? 

What are their tastes in food like? What about music? 

Think about what you tell others about yourself. Write them a dating bio for tinder or bumble or something like that. (Obviously don’t create it on the site. Do not catfish people.) 

Pro or anti selfie? 

What would their instagram or twitter handle be? Doesn’t matter if they live in a universe where they wouldn’t have one, figure it out anyway! 

What is their relationship with their grandparents? 

Have they ever broken a bone? 

Do they have any illnesses, disabilities, mental illness? If this is the case, do your research and figure out how it affects them. Never use a disability or mental illness just to make a character quirky or unique, or for drama in their life.

What is the character’s nationality? Ethnicity?

How do they feel about politics?

What are their hopes and dreams? It can be as simple as wanting to get out of their town, but everyone has hopes and dreams -- even if they lie to themselves and say they don’t. Or maybe they’ve already accomplished them.

What is the main problem in this character’s life?

What would their boggart be? (In layman’s terms: what is their worst fear, if they were to see it in front of them what would it look like?)

What house in Percy Jackson would they be in?

If they had a supernatural ability, what would it be? 

Have they ever dyed their hair?

Any near death or death experiences?

What do you love most about them?

How do they speak? Softly, loudly, quickly. What accent do they have? Do they speak refined? Why? Does it have to do with how they grew up or is it an act they put on? Do they sometimes have trouble getting the words out?

So I just reached my next thousand and I am.... speechless. This is CRAZY. I made this blog in 2012 and all I wanted to do was express my love for this show through my gifsets and posts. It was definitely much smaller than any other fandom I had ever been in at the time but I think that’s also what made me feel so welcome.

There were some people I ended up talking to and becoming friends with but some that I never talked to and just simply admired. A lot of these blogs are inactive now but every single one of them has made me what I am today. I figured I should show my appreciation for a majority of these people. I will DEFINITELY miss out on a few people because the list is, believe it or not, quite long despite the size of the fandom. Anyway, here I go! (this is in no particular order btw)

I’m gonna start with @kinneysexual. Oh my goodness. Where do I even begin with Cami? When I joined the fandom, I think you were probably the most popular qaf blog/giffer (well you were to me, anyway). I was SO inspired by all your wonderful and unique gifsets and I’m pretty sure I would just stare and stare at them for hours when I could. I’m not kidding, I was so so so impressed and in awe of your talent and ideas. I don’t think we ever talked privately but anytime you reblogged one of my sets or mentioned me in a post, I would just DIE of happiness because you were honestly my QUEEN hahahaha. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have gone on a massive giffing spree when I made this blog. Thank you.

@kinneys. What the hell would I have done without your BEAUTIFUL qaf edits? I ain’t playing, y’all. Alice would take a few screencaps from the most difficult show to colour, put them together and turn them into ART. FUCKING ART. HOW???? I JUST DON’T KNOW TO THIS DAY. I've literally just come back from the cinema after watching this! I saw it was on the schedule list yesterday and thought 'I must watch this asap!!' So it was the perfect time to watch this movie!! HAPPY 22ND BIRTHDAY!!! <3

OKAY! Back to the actual review! .... This was a film I was anticipating anyway and so I jumped at the chance of seeing it asap! Non-Spoiler/Overall: Went into it without knowing what the hell was going to happen and I'm so glad I did! It's not a movie I usually watch because it was very indie or at least had the feel to it as it was a perfect production; it definitely had some sound troubles and some of the shots (like camera looking up to the actors) were too artistic to be coming from one of the (two) big film companies in Japan. I thoroughly enjoyed the story even though it mentally broke me and my heart was crying at the end (a few real tears did slip out); it's definitely dark, realistic and bittersweet but there's those realistic moments of laughing even in the crappiest times which really warmed my heart <3 I was thoroughly impressed by Kuroba Mario's performance and saw a side of his acting I hadn't seen before. Also Sato Ryuji's smile is one of the most pure things ever! (HOLY SHIT I DO HAVE RYUJI'S SINGLE FOR THIS MOVIE ON MY LAPTOP!!! OMG!! *LISTENS*) If you get chance and want to see something a bit indie-esque, watch this! I am impress by it that much! My only complaint is Akazawa Tomoru's acting when he did the angry scene at the beginning; I don't think he's cut out for angry/horrible characters because his yelling just fell flat for me personally; least he tried xD Rating: 9/10 Now onto ALL the spoilers and story telling!!

SPOILER REVIEW:

To be honest I'd only seen the teaser trailer from MONTHS ago and had no idea what it was about! So, to be honest I was surprised when the first scene we got was Shinji (played by Sato Ryuji) and a girl putting their heads together in silence and it was this romantic scene but then the next moment he's like attacking her in a tunnel but then he's kneeling and kissing her slashed wrists but then he leads her to Aoi (played by Akazawa Tomoru, known as Tomorun) who he then blackmails into giving her stuff and she's pay for it, for Shinji's sake, in any means possible and then after that deal is made Shinji rings her and says 'sorry' and throws the phone away and that's apparently what he's done all this time in order to get money. So yeah, it got dark FAST. At first I was like 'No my Precious Ryuji!! He was like 20 when they filmed this!! Don't taint him yet!' But he really proved himself in this. I soon forgot about his age and was completely convinced he was the character and not Ryuji -- EXCEPT when he smile; OMG such an angel smile! Whenever he smiled, even in his difficult moments, I couldn't help but smile too <3 Also I do really enjoyt the opening scene because of HOW CLOSE UP the camera is! It's like 'nose and eyes only' close! His eye lashes are so pretty... I'll stop(!) Then we switch to his younger brother Nao, (yes younger! Wtf?! Hisanora had a good FOUR years on Ryuji at least yet he's playing the younger brother xD) and turns it he's doing ore ore sagi in order to get money and he does it with a group of friends who while they do have good times together, there's a a lot of tension and serious abuse between them. There's this wonderful moment half way through the movie when him and his friends (Dai, KenKen and BoBo) are drinking, having a laugh, having an amazing time and then it gets to that moment (we all know it; most have experienced it) where you've drank so much the mood drops dramatically and they're all just sad there in silence, in this room of gloom and to make matter worse, they're all shirtless and Nao even has fairy lights on him and the scene turns a little sinister. I could relate to that scene all too well. Another is at the beginning where Dai is joking telling KenKen to go die but he suddenly goes 'don't tell me to die' and it gets super serious for a while, but then they start to get naked (why boys) and begin to play games and lock him out of their place and it becomes light and happy again. Again I really enjoyed that dip in mood because it does happen, especially when (as it felt in here) you're friends only through convenience rather than being genuine friends. Throughout the movie we watch Shinji record music and get told by his producer that he could go pro with this and there's an external narration that talks about 'he never told anyone about it... maybe because he didn't even believe himself that he could do it' and I really resonated with that message; especially recently when I've been trying to decide what's my next step when it comes to work and careers and I've actually been attempting a lot of work without telling a soul and I do believe it's because I don't believe in myself so why tell others; so yes I completed related to this. And thus his producer tells him he can go pro and all of a sudden his life is much lighter and he's much nicer about the world and there's this beautiful moment where he and his producer are in the studio and his producer is drunk and dancing while Shinji (actually Ryuji) plays the drums and seeing his smile << yes we're going back to the 'butter would most definitely melt a thousand times over if they saw it' smile. It warmed my heart so much!!! <3333 The brothers apparently haven't seen or spoken to each other for a while and Shinji always works alone, but one day when Nao is on a swindle at an old grandma's place Shinji turns up and what they thought was a normal swindle, ends up spiralling when the grandma invites them in to stay for the night and she'll promise to go to the bank (and get their money) tomorrow. At first they're hesitant and Shinji tries to leave, but grandma feeds them and gives them (what can only been shown as) strong and disgusting alcohol which get's them completely startk drunk. And there's this beautiful scene where they watch the grandma perform an old Japanese dance while they smile and laugh as they watch; it's such a beautiful moment! And then the next day they both wake up sharing a blanket and sleeping next to each other and as soon as they wake up they face each other (my brain went BL-y, sorry!) but immediately come to their sense and move away from each other. It was a cute comedic moment <3 the grandma gives them the money and also says 'thank you for letting me redo my life once more' and this hits the boys because the concept of starting over never really occured to them until that moment. Thanks to that grandma they both begin to start changing. One day Nao turns up to the grandma's house with manju and Shinji also turns up randomly, unfortunately she's no where to be found and they find her (having tripped and fallen) up the mountain (she was on her way to a temple most likely) and run to the hospital but unfortunately it's too late and she passes. This hits them really hard and they ALSO learnt she had no grandchildren which meant she knew full well they were tricking her yet she still gave them all her money. At that point they decide they should find their father and fix everything between them. Throughout the story we get a female narration over the entire movie and eventually (about half way through we meet her) and she is one of the girls Shinji swindled about 6 months before and she talks about how she loves him and she carries on pursueing him because she loves him, and then there's a scene where she explains that they (Shinji and Nao) once watched their mother do a beautiful traditional Japanese dance on the beach as the father played the drums. She then comments 'but this is just something they made a reality in their heads together'. The mother is dead and the father left them and now has a family of their own. Which brings me to the semi-climax of the story (yes already but it ties in with the narration), the boys decide to find their father and through connects they find out where he lives. Turns out he's on the island next to where they live and he's already remarried and has a young daughter. When they get there, the father things they're loan sharks so runs away from his house leaving his daughter with them. At first she's uncertain but they come in normally and make food for her and they bond at the table and enjoy their dinner. The father eventually sees this by peaking through the window. Then the female narration starts; they would never actually know what his daughter looked like, because this is just what I imagined, in reality... And turned out the police find and catch them before they even get on the boat!!!! *dead* I was so angry! Turns out the narrator/girl is the one that reported them to the police and told them everything! So everyone including Nao's friends got caught!!! My heart was breaking!! I wanted that first ending to be so real! AND turns out she's now marrying one of the cops who she told!!! I was angry. Fuck her xD but I think we're supposed to end up feeling like this and being on the guys' sides. It's funny that the (semi-)ending was the way it was because RIGHT at the beginning of the movie I was like 'I hope one of these girls really fucks them up and they get attested' and then the film goes and does it!!! But by that point I was like 'these boys are precious! They're learning! They're so close to changing--- nooooo don't fucking catch them!!!!' And my heart my broken inside. Ugh why did she report them?!?!?! She finds Aoi at the end too and he ends up telling her the boys entire past and their story and he simply says 'they were idiots... and they got caught. I don't care what happens' and he leaves her. Omg the actually ending!!!! We watch Aoi run from one of the harbours (in fact the one where the boys got arrested) into a super expensive white car with blacked out windows and then all of a sudden we get English 'how are you feeling?' But he doesn't answer and THEN the machine they're recently sagi'd the old woman to buy ended up lighting up and exploding and THAT was the end?!?! Wtf?!?! I wanna know what the fuck Tomorun's chara was REALLY up to?!?!?! I need more!!! As I said in the non-spoiler review: Tomorun's acting when he did the angry scene at the beginning was that great; a little cringy and I personally don't think he's cut out for angry/horrible characters BUT he tried at least xD --- Now that the main story is out of the way, I can discuss a few more things: Mario's performance was short lived but holy crap it was good! So turned out both him AND Shinji were tricked out of money and the guy had up shop with their money and their debut CDs. now Mario's character had come to find him gone and was naturally super pissed. He's immediately yellin and pins Shinji against the wall (another BL moment for my brain) 'you were his friend right. You know where he is! Can't believe I believed his lying about debuting. He's taken all my money' Shinji realises what's gone on and that he's been thrown in the same trap but doesn't let anyone else know 'only those that fall for it are the bad ones' but obviously he's heart broken. Mario's angry and violent moment was like a minute long but damn it was flawless acting! I've never seen him act like that before and it was amazing!! He should defo play stronger and darker roles more in the future! Also I did giggle at one point cos Ryuji has a tank top on and you could easily see it was during a shaved armpit era (most likely for TouMyu) and the little black dots in his pits were so amusing to me xD Omg the cinematography! You can tell how indie this is by not only the odd dodgy sound recording at times (sometimes there was no real mic it seemed and everything was caught on the sound board and the actual voices sounded distant and such), but also how the way it was shot! There were some BEAUTIFUL and creative shots!! Especially the camera looking up shots; I couldn't get enough of them!! They were so good! I think this was beautiful shot! There's one specific scene (before Nao and Shinji start fighting on a beach) where the camera is tilted up and the sun is behind them so you can only see their siloettes and I loved the shot so much!! They ALSO used the slow-mo shot out of the movie too!! Another BL moment is, at one point Aoi and Shinji are talking and Aoi is super up against Shinji and passing him something and we can only see their shadows against the tunnel wall as they speak and I super thought 'omg are they secrelty in a gay relationship and hiding it from his brother?!' my silly brain... So, I know most people do these bias lists but I feel like they're a little hollow sometimes? Like one of those obligatory thank yous. I hope that mine does not seem this way. I am super grateful however to each and every one of you that do follow me. Skull, you're probably going to hear this forever and then some but you've been amazing to me. Yes, sure, we both have our bad days and sometimes that can cause some issues but I always move on and love you no matter what. Just to think that in a few months, we'll have been together for a year already. Time really flies, doesn't it? And what with the good news you got today, I'm so happy that so much turned around for you once I walked in. I don't feel like I ever really do enough for you, and that's partially because I'm always wanting to give you love every waking second, but I just want you to know that you mean so, so very much to me. I'll admit; I'll always be terrified of being close. There are likely going to be days where I refuse to be affectionate though I'm glad to say I've kept them from happening. At first, I was so nervous to speak with you because Skull is the social one and the two of you clicked so fast. And I'll admit? I'm a bit envious that you two can do so much together roleplay-wise. xD But I know that's because you both have the best pairing ever and you make it feel so real. That aside, I'm so happy we started to talk, us being the shy beans and potatoes that we are. I want to make sure that your days aren't filled with those dark moments again. I want to make you smile, to try tears of joy, to maybe one day get to hear your laugh to the antics we have.
