Rafayel is… surprised, to say the least.

Not only do you not have any memory of him or the things you did together- the things you did to him- but you also are straight up turning him down when he finally realized that he needs to confess to you all over again.

He's pretty upset.

It'll definitely turn into an argument, and you know he's hurt. Damn, you're hurt too, just having to turn him down. He makes you feel something, like you're special. Like you're everything to him. Like you're not…

Broken.

And it'll come out eventually. Maybe not blatantly so, but in small ways, your feelings of inadequacy will start to leak through the cracks that are forming in your resolve as you try to refuse a man who has already been refused his love by fate and prophecy for far too long.

And somehow, that makes it so much worse. Because he can fight fate, he can go against the currents of time and the ever evolving cruelty of human nature. But he can't do anything about the feelings raging inside your own head.

He's sure going to try though.

Angrily but calmly, he will start firing off things he has done for you, just because he's loved you so much, throughout all of your time together and even before. He doesn't know if it'll make it worse, make you feel like he already does too much for whatever it is you see yourself as, but he's going to do it anyway. And slowly, it'll start forming into the things you two do together- the things you've done for him when he needs you.

And you're going to be there a while, because until you start to realize, until he starts to chip away at that dark feeling in the deepest reaches of your mind and heart, he's not going to let up.

Not now, not ever.

Sylus -

He's a bit taken aback, but he's not particularly surprised. He had seen this coming, mentally prepared himself for it, even. He knew after his treatment of you when the two of you had just met again for the first time, that any sort of official relationship between you two would be tricky to get to. Especially putting an actual label on it.

He'll be a lot more surprised when he reads between the lines at your words, and realizes it's not because you're still scared of him, but because you don't think you're good enough for him.

"You can't be serious, sweetie."

He's not going to force you to accept his confession, but regardless of how timid or aggressive you become, whether you escalate it vocally or try to exit the conversation, he's not arguing with you. He pretty much refuses to, as he instead begins to state snarky facts as he crosses his arms, watching your reactions as he does.

"When you patched my wounds a month ago, was I not deserving of your hands caring for me because they were shaky and belonging to you? How about that girl you muttered about that we saw at the café who was mad at her boyfriend to the point of shouting, when he didn't get her the right cake she wanted? Are you saying you're worse than her? Helping me on jobs simply because you want to exist near me is… not good enough for me?"

"Sylus, that's not what I'm saying-"

"Oh don't worry sweetie. I know exactly what it is you're saying. I just know it's a particularly misinformed, self loathing thought for you to be having. Don't you think it's insulting for you to decide who I give my love to? After every calculated decision you have witnessed me make?"

He'll finally soften, reaching out a hand to gently rest on the side of your neck, his thumb brushing against your cheek in a gentle back and forth.

"You don't need to be concerning yourself with what I deserve in a partner. You should have faith in my opinions, if not for yourself, but for your confidence in me, sweetie. After that, the rest is up to what you truly want in your heart."

Zayne -

His reaction is definitely the most reserved initially, especially until he realizes why exactly you're turning him down.

He definitely has the passing thought that maybe you're just misunderstanding him again, just like back with the snow seals when the two of you were still kids.

When he realizes that's not the case, and instead, it's your own internalized feelings, he's first a bit relieved, and secondly- pretty perturbed.

"It's interesting to know that's your perspective, given how much you enjoy those fictional stories with ironic pairings. I would think that it would be the most romantic thing for a heart patient to be in a relationship with a cardiac surgeon.

His biting but well-meaning quips aside, he's not quite sure how to break it to you that he used to be in a similar boat, and still is to some capacity. Which is partly why he's a bit upset to understand your perspective.

He's genuinely surprised you haven't processed the timeline of the two of you and your lives. Your accident that caused the state of your heart, his leaving to study medicine and become a specialist in cardiology and a renowned cardiac surgeon- are you not able to see that it's not an inadequacy for him, but his own lack of knowledge when you first started having issues made himself feel inadequate? Why he left without a word for years in the first place?

And not just that- it also applies to other fields too. He has no issues helping you where you need him, because he knows the extent of your capabilities, much like he knows his own. And he will spend forever if he needs to, to show you that loving is not about who does more. It's about doing what your partner needs, no matter how much or how little that is, and loving each other through every hard moment.

And you're about to hear every ounce of his convincing, opinions, and own feelings, until you start to see. Until you finally see.

Xavier -

Unless you tell it to him straight, he's not going to know why you rejected him. He'll be hurt, but he'll accept your rejection graciously and politely, before trying to figure out just how to get you to accept it.

There's an increase in claw machine dates, movie night invitations, and how much he helps you with missions or even just around your apartment. Eventually, you process the weird behavior and you're all but forced to confront him on really truly why you rejected him.

It's Xavier, so you try to play it off as a lighthearted situation or a joke, but you can see his expression darkening, and you're not sure if it's because of him being upset at your words, or realizing just how much time he has sunk into you with how... broken of a person you are.

Turns out, it's the former!

It's hard to not realize such, as he's pulling you into the tightest hug he's probably ever grabbed you into.

For a while, it's just you and him standing there, with him squeezing you tightly and you not knowing what to do with your hands or the lump rising in the back of your throat. He doesn't really know what to say, but he does know he needs to say something.

"I'll definitely make you see that you're more than enough for me."

"Xavier- that's not how this work-"

"I know, and I don't care. I- I need you to know that you're everything to me. You're not inadequate, or broken, or anything you've been telling yourself. You're more than enough. You're more than everything to me. And I'm not going anywhere until you finally understand that."

-honestly, just like knockout, he would be interested in meeting you but since he’s in the medbay he’s gonna have to hear about you from rumors or Starscream.

-The first time he saw you was at a meeting, you didn’t interact at all, but he atleast saw you and thought you were beautiful.

-I honestly could see this man day dreaming abt u in the med bay like:

Knockout organizing his supplies in the Medbay, “Breakdown, why are you so silent all of a sudden?-“ turns around to see Breakdown day dreaming. “Oh primus..” Knockout mumbled..

Random silence in the Medbay.

“Y/n is so pretty..” Breakdown suddenly said, leaving Knockout just face planting himself.

-Then the day finally came, the day he finally had a chance to speak to you.

-you were coming into the Medbay, wounded from a fight against the Autobots. As you came in you met optics with Breakdown, then Knockout.

-After Knockout fixed you up, Breakdown quickly started a conversation with you.

“Hello,” Breakdown started, your optics widen a bit at the sudden voice but you turn around and see the blue mech look at you sweetly, “hello?…you’re Breakdown, right?..” you ask a little awkwardly.

-After the two of you introduced yourselves, the two of you were quickly close.

-Everyday you’d visit the Medbay when they’re slow and no injured vehicons or others, talking to Breakdown. Knockout would sometimes smirk at Breakdown as he’d talk to you, you didn’t find that out until after you became mates with Breakdown. (I think they’re called conjuxes?? I forgot, ima use mates for now-)

-Speaking of mates, the day finally came when Breakdown confessed to you. He confessed to you a little nervously, I could see him stuttering a bit and rubbing the back of his neck canes with a servo, or fidgeting with his fingers instead. You have got to accept his love bc what he said to you was so adorable 😢

-he’d definitely call you either “love” or just “my spark.” PDA?? Yes, he wants to let others know your his. How he kisses? Pretty passionate. He’d also become protective of you, and he’d BEG you to come to the Medbay since he’s mostly in there all day.

Soundwave:

-MY NUMBER ONE FAV WAVE😍😍

-he’s soo..WHXBDHRIEJNX

-anyways.

-when you first arrived he didn’t care or say anything, he literally can’t say anything at all tho so🤷🏻‍♀️ bros a mute💀

-I feel like he’d show you around the Nemesis kinda like how Starscream would. Or, he would go over important things you needed to know by playing a recording of Megatron talking abt that kind of stuff.

-When the day you fought the Autobots for the first time since you joined them he was in awe. A fem like you having strength like that? Ofc he knows he’s stronger tho so.

-The next time you’d see him after your battle he would silently just stand infront of you.

Soundwave standing infront of you, looking down/up at you. “Uhm..Soundwave?..why have you blocked my way..” you ask, he then plays a recording going like, “Y/N-strong-very-strong-it-is-impressive.”

Your optics widened but you just smiled at him, “oh thank you, Soundwave..” he then placed a smiley face on his visor and walked away.

-Everytime there would be a meeting you’d see him plaster a smile on his visor and you’d smile back. He’s too silly.

-I feel like you’d fall first. Why? Idk. He’s too silly to resist. I mean, am I wrong tho???

-When he’d fall for you he’d either confess to you by using a recording, or show you smth he typed on his visor. (Like a poem ykyk)

-he wouldn’t call you any names. Bc. Yk. But he would let you watch some things on his visor when not busy. You found the show, “my little pony.” How? Just know that Megatron may or may not have watched it once and you saw.

-Since Soundwave doesn’t rlly have a mouth you just kiss him on the visor and he’d place a smiley face, holding you around the waist. PDA?? Ehhh…yes. Just maybe not infront of Megatron.

Shockwave:

-illogical my ass once eye mf.

-he did not gaf abt ur arrival. At. All. Like he’s busy tryna make some shit in his lab 😢

Woooo!!!! Last part omg!!!! This part is LONG . Took me so long to write it bcs I kept changing it and restarting it and then i got sick 😭 and while I was editing to finally post my eyes started acting up and it just took . Not a doctor . So i apologize if any stuff is wrong 😭😭😭 Can’t believe I’m finally done with this fic 😭💔 I loved writing for it sm! The fight scene and run away scene were def my faves to write! Summary: You wake up in a hospital room and Anne comes to see you.

Warnings: mentions of medical equipment like n33dles and bl00d bag, mentions of bl00d and talks of bl00d loss, mentions of d34th, thoughts of being m4uled by a shark, and mentions of a hospital and talks of being in one and foul language.

“Got any fish yet?” Mayor Klaus smiled at a fisherman who sat at the edge of the bridge leading to Goldenleaf stables. The mayor was walking around the village enjoying the nice day and while he walked he checked in on the villagers. The fisherman looked to Klaus giving the mayor a frown and a shake of his head “sadly nothing yet mayor.” The man looked back at where his lure bobbed in the water “hopefully the waves will guide them to me!” The mayor watched as the lure slowly drifted back to the fisherman due to the waves pushing it to him. The waves were calm near the village, but were strong at the Dark Core oil rig. The mayor hoped that the people on the rig were alright. It must be awful to be hit by such strong waves. While the mayor wondered how the people on the rig were doing, the fisherman watched a shadow slowly rise to the surface. “What is that?” The fisherman got up getting ready to reel in what he hoped was a big catch. Klaus looked to the shadow in the water watching it get bigger and bigger as it slowly rose to the surface. The mayor thought it was a shark. The shadow was definitely big enough to look like it belonged to a shark. Fort Pinta had a shark there, maybe it swam over to the fishing village? The man hummed “I think the shadow may belong to a shark.” The man told the other his guess on whom the shadow may belong to. “It explains why there are no fish today” he looked to the fisherman who was now reeling in his line not wanting it to be ruined by the shark. “I’ll go alert everyone of the shark in the water if anyone comes near the water warn them!” The mayor turned, and started jogging back to the heart of the town to make his announcement, but was stopped by the fisherman shouting for help. “Help!” The fisherman yelled “help me!” Klaus was terrified to look back. The mayor was thinking that the shark had grabbed the poor fisher. As horrible as the sight would be the mayor had to help, so he turned getting ready to see a gruesome sight as he did. The man wasn’t met with a shark mauling a fisherman. Instead he was met with lots of people gathered together trying to get something out of the water. The villagers all worked together to pull something out of the water, and the mayor’s jaw dropped as he saw a person be laid on the bridge. Then a horse was being guided onto land. Some poor rider must have fallen in the water. The man thought the person on the bridge was dead, but they started to cough and squirm around. Klaus quickly burst into action as he realized he needed to get the village doctor and vet. The man changed his jog to a full run, and he ran all the way to the doctor and the vet.

Bright lights stung your closed eyes as you started to wake up. It took your eyes a few seconds to decide when was a good time to open. When you opened your eyes you deeply regretted it. Bright white lights hit your eyes hard making you wince, and cover your face with your hands. You sat up slowly doing your best to sit without the help of your hands. Your body hurt and you felt dizzy. Something was pricking your right arm, you wanted to check what it was, but your eyes still needed a moment to recover. Once you felt ready you removed your hands from your eyes. You squinted as you looked around the floor of the room. The floor was completely white and clean. So clean it reflected the lights on the ceiling. Your bed, the floor, and the contents of said floor were a great help for you to figure out where you were. You were in a hospital room laying down on a hospital bed covered by blue blankets, hooked up to a monitor that was beeping loudly and enjoying eye torturing lights. You survived… What about your horse? Were they okay? You had to find them, you had to get out, and look for your most loyal friend. You were about to get up, but your curiosity stopped you. The pain in your arm made you look to it, and you saw what was hurting you. It was a needle hooked up to a blood bag that hung from a pole. You hummed wondering if it was safe to take the needle out of your skin. You knew you lost a lot of blood during your run from Katja. You definitely needed the blood in that bag to live. Was it safe to take the needle out? You probably already got a lot of blood in you right? You weren’t too sure taking the needle out was safe so you decided to take the pole with the blood bag with you. You removed the blankets on you which made your body shiver instantly. You were wearing a hospital gown you wondered where your clothes were, but that didn’t really matter right now. You sat on the edge of the hospital bed slowly moving as pain hit your body. Your body was begging for five more minutes in bed, but your brain and heart were saying ‘find your horse.’ You could always rest later, right now you needed to look for your horse. You put your feet down on the ground shivering again as the cold of the floor traveled from your legs to your whole body. The monitor in the room showed a flat line, and let out a loud sound as you unhooked all the stuff reading your vitals. You managed to stand up, taking a shaky step forward and away from the bed. You had to be quick, the monitor was definitely going to alert the doctors and nurses of the hospital, and you didn’t want them to put you back in bed. Your legs were shaky, you felt like a newborn foal just learning to walk. The pole the blood bag hung from became something to hold onto. It was very helpful and you were glad it was in the room with you.

With the help of the pole you took more shaky steps. You needed to get out of the room quickly. As you walked to the door you thought of places to look for your horse. Where were you anyways? You needed to find out where you were first, and find a change of clothes too. You grabbed onto the handle of the door slowly turning it so it wouldn’t make any noise. Once the door was open you very slowly moved it. You didn’t want the door to creak, but you realized it didn’t matter anyways. The monitor was already making noise. You huffed, and quickly opened the door getting scared as you saw someone standing on the other side. You were looking at their shoes. You covered your mouth trying to think of excuses to why you were out of bed. Once you came up with a good one you quickly looked up. Your hand fell from your mouth, and you frowned “Anne?” The woman looked shocked she thought the beeping came from you dying. To see you alive was a huge shock. She stammered as she tried to think of something to say to you. Her hand was held out, she was about to open the door, but you did it first. Without thinking you took her hand pulling her to you, and you hugged her. You didn’t know if she would react to the hug well. Would she hate you? You did scratch the fuck out of her face a day ago. Wait how long had it been? Hopefully a day? Your thoughts on how long you must have been out for were interrupted by Anne moving. The woman hugged you back bringing you as close as she could to her. You started sobbing unable to control your emotions after she returned the hug. “I’m so sorry” you sobbed shaking your head. You were apologizing to her for how you clawed her face, fought her, and betrayed her. Anne did not say anything, she just held you. The woman cared for you, but could she forgive you? Could she really say she forgave you, and move on from the shit you did? Anne was angry, she was really angry with you, but she was still here. Because she cared, and because she had something important to tell you. She couldn’t bring herself to lie and say she wasn’t angry and that she would forgive you. Instead she said nothing, she just stood at the door holding you close to her as you cried.

You were found by a fisherman in Goldenhills” Anne sat by your bedside holding your hand. “He saw a figure in the water him and the mayor thought it was a shark” she was telling the story as she saw it in the papers. She saw it two days ago you had been out for three. “As soon as he was about to leave, your horse came out of the water” your horse was fine thankfully, and waited for you in Goldenhills. You really owed them they saved your life. Your poor horse deserved the world and more for their insane loyalty. “Then the fisherman saw you on their back, and he gathered a group to pull you out” Anne frowned. “The doctor at the village stabilized you, and then you were transferred here” you were in a hospital in the city. You had been to the city plenty of times so you knew your way around it. Once you left the hospital you were going straight for Goldenhills. Now you were caught up on everything. Anne cleared her throat, and you looked at her seeing how glossy her eyes had gotten. “Anne?” You frowned squeezing her hand “what’s wrong?” You worried for her. The leader had to tell you why she was here. Why it was only her and no one else. She told you everything you needed to know, and now it was time to move on onto something else. She had been stalling for long enough, and now it was time to rip the band aid off. The woman decided there was no reason to take this slow. She needed to tell you what she had, and she needed to tell you now. “Fripp sent me” she said to you letting go of your hand. You looked at your now lonely hand wondering why she let you go. “I waited for you to wake up so I could tell you that-“ her words became a lump in her throat. “That-“ telling you what Fripp had sent her here for was easier said than done. She looked down at her lap, her head hanging low, and she gathered strength for what she had to tell you. “After all the things that happened and all the things you did” you watched as Anne messed with the fabric of her shirt. “Fripp and the druids decided that the best thing to do about you is-“ Anne looked up at you. She had to look at you while she broke the news to you. No more looking down, and messing with her shirt, she had to look right at you so you could understand that what she was about to say was serious. Her looking at you made you nervous really, really nervous… What was she going to say?

“They decided the best thing to do is exile you” Anne felt like a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders. For her the worst part was over but for you? It was just beginning. You shook your head not believing what Anne was saying. You laughed nervously “exile?” You really couldn’t believe it “Anne I-“ you laughed again “please let me talk to Fripp if I can explain that this is all just a big misunderst-.” Anne huffed “there is no talking to Fripp” she narrowed her eyes “what’s been decided has been decided.” She looked away from you “you betrayed us…” Anne was deeply hurt and she stood with Fripp in fact all of the Soul Riders stood with him on his decision. If you betrayed everyone over a lie so quickly what said you wouldn’t do it again? Anne and the others lost all trust for you.“He’s allowing me to stay with you until you leave the hospital” the air in the room became cold. You felt like crying, and you couldn’t hold back tears anymore as Anne said “I’m not here as a friend just as a Soul Rider making sure things are done.” She had to be cold to you now she needed you to know that there was no changing Fripp’s word. No matter how much you begged, or tried to prove you were still her friend Anne was not going to fight to change the verdict. She still cared for you not as much as she did before everything, but she still cared. At least enough to be at the hospital with you. Even though she still cared a bit she knew she needed to be cold to let you know shit was serious. She got her point across to you by saying she wasn’t your friend anymore, and by suddenly becoming cold towards you. You covered your mouth, you were horrified. Death was awful, but being alive and completely alone was worse. Fripp was smart, he knew this. He gave you the worst possible punishment. Death would have been so much better than being exiled. Everyone you knew was a druid, or worked with them in some way, and surely they would all know of your betrayal. Surely once you got out of the hospital everyone would turn you away. What were you going to do now? Where were you going to go? Exile was the worst punishment ever given by Fripp. The leader knew how horrible this punishment was. He saw it with Evergray he saw how well it worked. He wanted you to suffer for your betrayal… And suffer you would.

"my god, y/n you do this every fucking time, do you even understand how unbearable you are?" heeseung said with the roll of his eyes as he laid down fully on the couch you recently were sitting on. you were up and about, and in tears, as you angrily grabbed your phone and keys, throwing them into your purse.

"unbearable, huh?" you seethed as you angrily turned your body to him and. "that's new. hm, maybe i should add it onto the list of 'shitty things my boyfriend has called me'," you pulled your purse up, throwing it over your shoulder as you stood there. a big part of you wanted to leave, but the other part was screaming into your ear to stay and argue, and that was the part you would always listen to.

"it's weird as hell that you're keeping a list," he said with a laugh as he nonchalantly scrolled through his phone. you rolled your eyes as you watched how unbothered he was. it was like this was only bothering you. it was always that way. you two would argue, whether it be over text or in person, and he would just sit there and act like he didn't give a shit. you were starting to believe that he really didn't.

"obviously it's not a real list, heeseung," you said, refraining from calling him out of his name so he wouldn't be able to use it against you if things were to boil down enough for a civilized conversation. "it's just always at the back of my head since you never fail to make me feel shitty about myself whenever shit like this happens."

"oh i'm sorry, i didn't expect you to hold everything i've ever said to you against me, y/n," he yawned, still not looking your way. "but what can i expect? you'll do anything just to remain the victim every single time, right?" his bitter laugh boomed through your ears like a siren you couldn't turn off. you clenched your fists hard, doing everything in your power not to blow off even more, but this man always made it so hard for you.

"because i am the victim, i never do this shit to you, yet you do this all the fucking time," you said, yet he still made no effort to pay any real attention. "i don't even want to be here anymore, you ruined my whole mood. i can't even be at peace in your presence without you finding a way to fuck with me."

"no one's forcing you to be here," he said, referencing that you could easily leave. he knew you didn't want to leave, that you wanted to get the last word in. usually he would let you, and let the conversation, for an actual discussion about your feelings be made, but he was so sick of always being the blame. always being painted as the shitty boyfriend when you were just as bad as he was.

still wanting to get a reaction out of him, you tried to think of a way to rile him up just enough to get the same energy you were giving him. then it dawned on you like a lightbulb switching on. "and no one's forcing me to keep this stupid ass neck lace on either," you said ripping it off in the heat of the moment. the weak golden chain that was once securely around your neck was now cracked and broken as you threw it at him.

you had finally caught his attention once the broken anniversary necklace landed on him. his ears started burning red with anger as he picked up the jewelry off of his chest where it landed. "fuck you!" heeseung said as he threw it behind him as he got up, towering over you as looked down with anger in his eyes.

"no fuck you! i'm tired of this shit. i'm not gonna let you keep treating me like shit!" you were unfazed by his gaze since you'd seen it so many times before. if anything, you were only gonna test him more to see how far you could push him. oh, but he had other plans in mind.

"oh, but you will, y/n! you know why? because you know no matter what i say or do to you, you're not gonna leave. you. never. do," he said, poking your forehead with every emphasis. you glared up at him as you smacked his hand away from you. a scoff left your lips, feeling like he was starting to tear your wall of anger down with that sentence. now it felt more... personal. because he was right.

"well my fucking bad for wanting to be loved by you, heeseung," your words and tone were still the same, but it was evident that what he said got to you. he knew it would anyways because, contrary to belief, he knew how to get under yout skin, too. and you deserved to be hurt after what you did to that necklace he spent his hard earned money on for you.

"well, fuck, y/n. you shouldn't be with a man if you feel like he doesn't love you, don't you think?" he asked, challenging you even more. tears brimmed in your eyes again as you kept eye contact with him. of course you knew you couldn't stop the tears from forming, but if there was one thing you could do, it was stopping them from falling.

"i'm obviously staying because i want you to love me." you know, the way you used to. before our heads constantly crashed together, before the first name was called, before the first block and break we took because of it. she wanted to say, but her pride wouldn't let her. and if there's anything or anyone she'll listen to, it's her pride. "but it's clear that you don't, so maybe i shouldn't be with you."

just by the look in your eyes, as well as the tears you let fall, heeseung knew that you were no longer being spiteful with him. though the two of you had argued badly in person, it's only gotten this bad through text. but even so, this was worse. and even though he knew what you were saying was said genuine, he kept searching your eyes just for another second, hoping there was some sort of evil intent. or some sort of lie.

but there just... wasn't. your eyes only looked back in his with pain. you felt a lump forming in your throat while looking back. his eyes scanning yours for something more was only making it hurt more. but every ounce of you was tired. daily arguments, daily disrespect, daily disregard for your feelings is making your mental health crumble. if you didn't leave now, you were sure you'd never be able to. but aside from that knowledge, this is also your brain telling you that, if he fights for you now, it's worth fixing.

"yeah," heeseung said with a sigh after juggling the pros and cons of breaking up, the pros weighing hundreds more. "maybe you shouldn't." he took a few steps back while you only looked at him, eyes widened while your heart only broke into pieces at his words. you didn't dare let out an audible sniffle, stopping anymore tears from falling so as to not show him that this was genuinely breaking your heart.

"uh, guys? i don't think this is the place to be doing that," you and heeseung's head turned to see jake sitting on the couch, phone in one hand while the other held one of his airpods that he'd taken out of his ear. you don't even know why that replaced your sadness with anger. and you didn't know why it made you mad at jake. how embarrassing is it to be broken up with in front of your boyfriend's friends.

"shut the fuck up, jake."

you turned back to heeseung who was looking at you with the same surprised expression. since when did you guys say shit in sync? he let out a bitter laugh while jake got up, quietly excusing himself so as to not cause anymore tension. you rubbed your arm awkwardly avoiding eye contact once reality set in again. heeseung noticed this and his heart fell once again.

"god, y/n," he said, pulling you into his embrace, your face buried in his chest. he had one arm protectively around your back, the other on the back of your head caressing it slowly. "you don't know what you're doing to me." you could hear the crack in his voice as he rested his chin on top of your head. you've never seen him get emotional, yet alone hear it.

"i'm sorry, i don't wanna break up."

"i don't want to, either."

"can we just go home and pretend everything's okay? even if it's not?"

"of course, baby," he said, grabbing your hand, leading you to the door.

"you can't seriously be mad at me right now!" heeseung screamed following closely behind you. you ignored him, your stomping getting louder as you got closer to your room. luckily the door was open from when you left it open earlier, so it was easier for you to (at least attempt to) slam the door on him had his hands not been so quick. "y/n, stop ignoring me. i swear to fucking god."

"stop following me," you said, your tone as cold as ice as you made a quick u-turn walking out the room, but not before trying to pull it shut on him. he quickly reopened it, groaning frustratedly. "stop trying to shut doors on me, i'm tryna talk to you!"

"fuck you, i don't wanna talk," you said, journeying your way into the kitchen, opening the refrigerator door with unnecessary force as you angrily looked around for something- anything to drink.

"so you're just gonna keep ignoring me?!"

"seems like it!" you said, slamming the fridge door shut again you begin to walk away from him, only stopping when you feel him harshly tug at your arm, making you turn around to face him. to say you weren't still attracted to him, even though all you could see was red, while looking at him would be a lie. you could see his once fluffy bangs sticking to his forehead like glue from the sweat he worked up while chasing after you, complimented by the rosy redness of his cheeks and his chest heaving only a little bit abnormally while he got his breathing under control.

if you hadn't seen what was on his phone, you would've fallen back into his arms, cluelessly and willingly letting him sweet talk his point across. maybe it could've been something petty that you two would be able to have gotten over, or just a petty argument that you two would have set your prides aside for. but it wasn't. and it won't be, no matter how much you wished it were.

"look, i don't know what you saw on there, but whatever it was doesn't give you the right to go through my phone."

is that why you've gone out of your way to face your phone downward everytime we're together? is that why you've been voluntarily leaning away from me to answer your phone every time it vibrates? is that why you were bugging me nonstop asking me if i had anything to tell you? because you knew you had something to tell me? because you were so guilty, that you wanted there to be a possibility that i would have the same shame you did?

there were so many questions you wanted to ask. and so much you wanted to say. and you had genuinely thought earlier that if you were angry enough you'd be able to cuss him out about it. or start a whole new elaborate argument, over literally anything, for you to hit him with the information you found so you could have the upper hand before kicking him out.

but you weren't angry. maybe you were before, not anymore. especially not when you face him and look him in the eyes. not when he's looking at you as if you needed to be the one apologizing for going through his phone. like you needed to cooperate with him, now. not when it's as serious as this. and especially not when it's hurting you this bad.

your mind and heart raced as you looked at him, not wanting to say anything just yet because you knew whatever you'd say to him would be what you were really feeling. and if there's anything you hated, it's having people know that they've gotten under your skin or hurt you. and that's exactly what he did, maybe worse than that. "can you please say something?" he begged, the desperation being more than clear on his face and in his tone.

"am i not good enough for you?"

his eyes widened, then softened. his once tight and firm grip on your arm loosened as you retracted it back to your side where it belonged. you could tell he knew exactly why you asked that by the way he struggled to find the words to say. but what was there to say that wouldn't contradict his actions. "y/n... that was before we got back together. it only happened because... i only did that because i thought we were seriously going to break up. you know i'm not like that."

then what are you like? tell me. why are you still texting her, heeseung? why have you been texting her for months, going to her every time we have issues? why is she so comfortable telling you she'll be ready to pick up the pieces i leave behind the second we call it quits for real?

"you're giving her false hopes at a relationship," you sniffled, not being strong enough to confront the more important questions your body kept screaming at you to ask. he bit the inside of his cheek, shaking his head.

"no, i didn't," he said defensively. "i told her i didn't know when we would break up. but that was only because she was asking if we'd be breaking up soon!"

"that's giving her false hope, you asshole!"

somehow even after all the wrong he's done, he still makes your broken heart beat faster at his words. his words were so sickeningly sincere. he genuinely felt like he loved you, afterall he was more than willing to go through the same draining cycle again and again with you every time you asked for him back. that was enough to prove it right? he held out his hand, silently begging for yours, and for a second you were almost trapped under his spell again, but you knew better. you stepped back and shook your head at him.

"no. this isn't love anymore." it isn't love. and i know it. no matter how hard i try to push this aside, or try to excuse it, it hurts too much to. i can let a lot of things go when it comes to us, but not this. not when you've already opened your heart, emotionally, for another girl to make her home. i just can't do it.

you wanted to tell him, but the words wouldn't come out of your mouth, instead they showed through your eyes while he kept searching them for something anything! any kind of doubt or second thoughts that he could twist and rethread to make you stay one last time. if you could show any signs of not wanting to let go, he could talk it into you and be better this time! he could cut her off without any last word and fix everything.

"no. no, no, no, no, no, no. please don't say that. we can fix thisㅡ"

"but aren't you tired of pretending like this relationship is still fixable? like it's still worth saving?"

"fuck! i only said that in the heat of the moment, i didn't mean it, please. i can fix this. please just don't let me go, y/n. i love you so much, you know this. and you know you love me, too."

your heart hurt too much to even reply to him at this point, all you could do was shake your head while you looked any and everywhere else but his eyes. by now his tears were falling, too. he knew now that he had become the shitty boyfriend. and no matter how bad you were in his eyes, you were no longer just as bad as he was. a sigh left his lips as he searched for the last piece of unsureness in you. maybe you were right. maybe it wasn't love anymore.

"fuck, i'm sorry, y/n. i really am. i don't know why i keep making these dumb ass mistakes. i don't know why i keep doing this shit when i know it hurts you. i don't know why i led her on when i knew that no matter what happens i wouldn't be able to let you go. i don't know what i'm supposed to do without you. i can't see a world without you in it. you still mean everything to me, i really don't want to lose you."

"please, heeseung," your voice was barely above a whisper, and even though you genuinely didn't want to look him in the eyes, you knew this was the only way to communicate it. "just go, you've done enough. i wish you two the best, we've been holding onto this too long. i can't force compatibility anymore."

he fell to his knees in desperation, grabbing onto your hand as he looked up at you putting aside all the pride he had left. "you don't mean that. we're not forcing anything! i promise i'm gonna change. i'll do anything, you can't let me go!"

you sighed, grabbing his hand with your other one, helping him get back on his feet. "thank you for being my first love but, at this point, that's all you can be. no love is worth this amount of pain. now, please leave. i can't handle any more of this. i love what you were able to bring into my life, but your heart doesn't belong to me anymore."

he took his hand back, looking up to blink back any other tears that were threatening to fall. "i'm sorry.," was all he could muster up before he finally walked out of the kitchen, then out to the living room and front door and ultimately out of your life. as if your heart couldn't break anymore, you felt the pieces break into shreds while you walked into your room.

by now you had no tears left to cry, so all you could do is stare at the ceiling, deep in thought while you hopedㅡ prayed for your roommate sunghoon to come in and comfort you. as bad as today was, at least life had the decency to call him into your room to let you cry onto his chest until you were ready to open up about the heartbreak.

You ask him to help because you were gonna try to juggle 3 batches and recipes in 1 day (stressed just thinking abt it lmao) 

The flavors are orange, peppermint, and chocolate idk why holidays ig

Like Akaashi man is prepared to help 

I feel like Kita likes the structure of baking recipes

Follows your lead and does everything you ask of him perfectly

Cleans as you go so the kitchen doesn’t become a disaster

We love an organized man ‼️

Helps keep all the different timers and batters organized so nothing gets forgotten

Likes the quality time of just doing something domestic with you

When you get a bit overwhelmed he’s right there to calm you down and take over for a second 🥺

When the timer goes off you have to pry Suna’s arms off of you

He whines when u leave but doesn’t get up

You go back to the couch and he drags you down to him

You guys lay there and watch tiktoks on his phone while the cookies bake

Whines again when you leave to take the cookies out and make the filling

Eventually returns to his stool beside you and continues scrolling through his phone

You demonstrate how to gently assemble the macarons and then have him do it while you pipe all the filling

Claims he won’t share with the twins but you set aside some for them anyway

You guys are professionals so homemade salted caramel with vanilla buttercream and caramel meringue

You lay out all the ingredients and measure everything out before hand to keep it easy

Halfway through the process Atsumu walks in

“Ya know, I could help ya guys out if ya need. This looks pretty easy.” 

“Shut up idiot ya can’t even make a PB&J without the fire department showin up”

Ofc they start arguing and you have to intervene before Osamu burns the caramel

Atsumu leaves on the condition that he gets a macaron when they’re done

Other than that small event the process is seamless

During the 2 hour dry time Osamu makes some onigiris for a easy dinner

His piping skills are pretty good if not better than yours 

Mans got steady hands 

You guys ended up making a lot of them so you saved enough for the team to each get one

After that you just grab the platter of cookies and escape before the twins accidentally ruin them

You laugh when he starts coughing out clouds of powdered sugar

Once he stops coughing he laughs along with you and then gets back into his story

Listening to him talk abt volleyball is therapeutic prove me wrong 😌

He hugs you from behind while you stand at the mixer and just watches you work

Steals some kisses cuz he claims he’s deprived
