Snart Jr.
Lovely prompt by @stealingyourbones in her long prompts list, in which Danny Phantom meets the Rogues of Central City! This will have multiple parts, I just haven't written them yet.
Disclaimer: I know very little about Captain Cold and Mirror Master despite having watched some of the Flash. The general vibe I get from Flash is that Flash just really cares about his rogues as evidenced by how he talks to them and doesn't immediately one-shot them like I'm pretty sure he could do. And that Captain Cold is a snarky asshole that just wants to steal things and follow his plans as planned? Tbh, the whole mini-arc/episode with him just felt like Snart was trying to coordinate the world's riskiest group project. He was so done by the end lmao
"Huh. That's new."
Danny hovered an inch off of the ground, having just been spat out by swirling green portal. He was going to have to get back to the Zone later to hot potato Skulker through a couple of portals in revenge. He had a math exam he had to study for, dammit.
Danny sighed. Might as well see what's happening. The portals rarely lead somewhere boring, and Danny was bored. He floated further in, form going intangible and invisible as he passed through thick but insulated marble walls. See, Jazz? He could totally plan ahead. He's also learning that he could probably rob a bank easily, but Danny would never.
"Never been spat out in a bank before," he hummed, eyes flickering on the numerous forms of cowering people in the lobby. The goons scattered about don't see him, but it would take another ghost to even detect his presence so it was to be expected. He moved further in with little hindrance and soon touched down onto polished floor behind two incredibly suspicious individuals.
"What-cha do-ing?"
The two figures, currently and obviously robbing a bank, whirled around in surprise. Their respective weapons whirred to a start before they stopped, baffled by the meta teen standing there with his white hair waving about and innocent look pasted all over his face.
Leonard Snart knew instinctively that the kid was so full of shit. He'd bet his entire plan on the fact that the kid knew exactly what kind of shit he was stirring. Still, Snart was guilty of a lot of things but direct child-endangerment wasn't ever one of them.
"How'd you get in here, kid?" Mirror Master raised his laser pistol, ready to distract and divert the kid with threats of violence- which Snart glared at him for- or with his hall of mirrors that he'd run to.
Danny shrugged. "I walked. If you guys didn't want me here, you should have guarded the place better."
"They were supposed to," Snart drawled. He cased the kid. Teen. The kid had a weird halo effect, that seemed to draw the eyes to the stylized letter on his hazmat suit. The kid was young. Meta. Non-hostile. "You trying to stop us?"
Danny shook his head. "Nah. Came from the Ghost Zone so 's really non'a my business. I was just being nosy."
Snart gave a curt nod and nudged Mirror Master back into cracking the security measures.
Mirror Master scoffed. "What the hell is a ghost zone?"
"I mean, it's pretty self explanatory, right? It's a zone where ghosts live. Hence, you know, Ghost Zone." Danny did a little jazz hands (oh, yeah, he was definitely gonna get Jazz to make that joke sooner or later) for emphasis.
Snart paused for the slightest bit before continuing with his task. Did ghosts exist?
"...Did the Flash send you here, kid?"
"I'm not a kid," Danny scowled, walking right up to them. He got enough of that from his own Rogues, thank you. "And what's a Flash?"
"The Flash, kid." Mirror Master corrected, shoving monitors and PC's and expensive looking office chairs into... a mirror dimension? Danny shrugged and rolled with it.
"Who's that? Your boss?"
"Local superhero, not our boss. You're not from here," Snart quickly deduced as a small smile wormed onto his face from successfully cracking the security without setting off an alarm. They'd have ten minutes before the system cycles the access codes again and flags the fraudulent ones. That should be enough time.
"Superhero? Are they fast? Actually, where is here?" Danny glanced around at the now bare security office like the Flash would show up.
The guy in green and yellow took everything not nailed down to the ground. Danny respected that, even if he kind of wanted to stop the robbery. But he's not really supposed to interfere. That would be uber rude, since it looked like the guy in the fur jacket seemed like he had planned everything precisely.
"You're in Central City, kid. Did you take a wrong turn trying to get to Keystone or something?" Green-yellow guy snorted.
"Gonna be real honest with you, I've got no idea where that is. What state are we in?" Danny followed as the pair rushed to the safe doors. He could offer to phase them through but no matter how flexible Danny's morals have become over the years, he was going to draw a line at actively helping a person commit crime.
"Kansas. Do you teleport? Are you a teleporting meta?" Snart asked, eyes intense as he both glared at Danny and pressed an ear to the safe door.
"Nah, I wish I could teleport. Getting to school would be so much faster. Kansas? Huh, I've never been."
"How lost are you, kid?" Mirror Master incredulously paused from robbing the packages that were delivered to the bank.
Danny shrugged. "Oh, I'm Danny. Who are you guys?"
"Captain Cold. That's Mirror Master."
Danny shifted as the safe clicks open. "So, uh, are you guys the villains here?"
Captain Cold shot him a weird look. "We're actively robbing a bank, kid. That should be obvious."
"Also, you're acting real calm for a kid speaking to two of Fawcett's best super-villains." Mirror Master chimed in, laser-ing off locks on deposit boxes and shoving cash and stuff into his mirror dimension.
Danny padded in after them. "Eh, you haven't shot at me- not even on sight- yet, which is more than I can say for law enforcement, so you're pretty chill in my book."
Captain Cold snorted, pointedly taking his freeze gun and breaking off a large manual lock. "I believe it's my job to be the chill one. Plus, we don't kill. The Flash would be up our... business if we did. It's not worth the trouble."
"You can say ass. I've heard worse."
"Not from me, kid."
Danny hadn't had that kind of consideration from anyone in a long time. Even if it's a bit... mother-hennish, the halfa couldn't find it in him to be annoyed. "Ah, okay. Well, you also haven't kidnapped me or tried to stop me from following you, so..."
Mirror Master shoved a giant painting into his dimension. "You haven't tried to stop us; it'd be weird trying to stop you."
"Makes sense."
"Heh. You're alright, kid. Though... who's kidnapping you?"
"My fruit loop of a godfather. It's a thing," Danny avoided the searching gaze like a pro.
"Hold this." Captain Cold said suddenly, giving Danny a massive dufflebag.
"Wait, what?"
Captain Cold began stuffing the bag with cash and once the money in the vicinity (not that much) went in, he said "Go look around. Having another person in here is a risk so you might as well make up for it."
Danny's calling it. Captain Cold was full of shit. The guy's a big softie. Danny smiled sheepishly and agreed. Danny circled the place, pointing out expensive looking stuff- "for fun" and not because they were nice to him- when he felt the tell-tale zaps of an anomaly in Clockwork's domain.
"Move!" He shouted at the two villains, both of whom dove out of the way. Instinctively, Danny threw out his gloved hands and iced the floors, instincts bristling at the incoming danger. His jaw dropped as a blur encountered the ice and went ass over tea kettle onto the floor, unable to stop its own momentum.
"Oh shit!" Danny uttered, eyes wide as the blur slammed into the opposite- reinforced- wall with a pained shout. The stopped person was wearing red, with a lighting bolt motif all over their uniforms. That implied speed. Speed implied "The Flash." Danny knew a hero when he saw one and he just iced him. Shit.
"What-" The Flash groaned. Mirror Master and Captain Cold gaped.
"OhmyancientsI'msosorrygottagobye!" Danny shouted.
"Hey, wait, kid-!" Captain Cold shouted. Danny ignored him, going invisible in a panic and sank into the ground, mortified. After thirty seconds of self-hatred, he zoomed out and away. Danny held his head in his hands as he flew back to where Amity was...
Only to stare down at the empty plots of land where his city was supposed to be. Danny shoved a hand into his chest and pulled out his phone.
[No results for Amity Park. Did you mean "Amity Arkham"?]
"What."
Any research he did after that only turned up a Jasmine Fellona, a budding neurobiologist in her field, and other people that were adjacent to the people Danny knew. But nothing, nothing from Amity Park.
"Oh, yeah, we're definitely not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy."
---
As the Flash stood around to keep an eye on the hand-cuffed villains, he couldn't help but ask.
"So, uh, Snart. Did you... get a kid?"
"What." Snart asked, incredibly done with this shit.
"You know. Snart junior? With the ice and everything?" Flash gestured at the un-melting ice that covered the floor leading into the safe. "I mean, I'm not thrilled you're pulling your kid into a life of crime..."
"No."
"Wait, you had a kid and didn't tell me?" Mirror Master asked, mildly offended. "That was your kid? No wonder no one shot at him!"
"He's not my kid." Snart gave Flash the stink-eye. "And don't you have a couple of baby sidekicks running around?"
"C'mon dude, you're so obviously fond of him. It's okay, you don't have to hide it." Flash avoided the topic... in a flash.
"Can someone arrest me right now so these idiots can be removed from my vicinity?" Snart snarked to the approaching officer, jerking his head to point at the beaming Flash.
"You and me both, buddy," Officer West sighed.
---
One trip to the zone and a stressful conversation with Clockwork later, Danny was found in his keep, smacking his ghost head into the ghost wall of his ghost keep. Danny would unleash a Wail if it didn't have the nasty habit of bringing everything around him.
Apparently, he got "Amity'd," a process which meant Amity spat him out like an over chewed dog bone and refused to take him back.
"That doesn't even make sense! I left there a bunch of times! And came back!"
"The city has decided that it was your time to leave, Danny." Clockwork spared a wane smile for the curled up boy-king.
"I have people to protect there! My entire life! My haunt!" Danny yelled, breaths that he didn't technically need coming shorter and shorter. The neon green of the Zone whirled in and out of his vision in a dizzying shudder of anxiety and incoming panic.
"It wasn't your haunt, I'm afraid. The city nurtured you as a young spirit- thus shared her haunt- and has decided that it was time for you to... leave the nest, so to speak."
That stopped Danny's panic in its tracks. "Are you telling me she NightVale-d me? Some kind of involuntary coming-of-age bs?"
If he weren't on the edge of hysterical laughter, Danny would take a moment and proudly say to Mr. Lancer that he had paid attention in class.
"...Yes."
"Fuck." Danny dropped his head down in despair. His head made a loud thunk. The bag of cash he'd accidently made away with sat innocently at his feet. Further proof that it wasn't some nightmare he'd wake up from anytime soon.
---
Danny slumped over the desk, exhausted. Technus had lent him a ghostly hand and hacked into government data bases to re-establish his social security number and all the other dumb bits and bobs that he needed to establish his identity because Amity was an actual ghost town. Ghost to reality, ghost to real life. Ancients, Amity even had their own data network, which he couldn't access outside of Amity itself. This meant that Danny couldn't even call anyone. Ugh.
"I gotta find a place to live," he mumbled to himself. Danny, despite knowing that he needed to do things, did not move for another ten minutes.
Then, as his phone alarm went off, buzzing on the table. Like... Clockwork... Danny sat up straight and wiped all traces of wallowing self pity off his face. The people in the library- students- gave him solemn nods of solidarity. Danny nodded back and left the library.
He wandered around Fawcett City, somewhere Clockwork had recommended he stayed. With Clockwork, recommendations tended to be life-important (plot-important?) orders. Danny liked the place, really. It gave off the weird and settled "what-the-fuck,-Box-Ghost-did-you-have-to-destroy-the-mall?" vibes Amity constantly gave off after the ghosts started coming through. He thought he even saw a talking tiger! Awesome.
"Hey, are you new here?"
Danny looked down. His reflection stared back at him.
Did he have another kid? Did someone clone him again? Ancients curse you, Vlad!
"Uh- yeah."
"Oh. Do you need help getting around? I was born and raised here all my life, so I can totally do that!"
Oh thank the Ancients, this wasn't another Dani. Just a weirdly similar looking kid.
"You know I'm a stranger, right?"
"I don't think anyone helping Nanny Mae pick up her oranges would hurt kids," the kid said archly, but with a grin so like Dani, it made Danny miss his younger sister.
"Okay, you got me there. But still."
The kid sighed. "I know how to be safe, thanks. I'm Billy!"
"Danny. Nice to meet you."
"Okay, Danny, where you off to?"
"I'm actually trying to find a place that'll be cheap to rent." He's sixteen, but Danny could totally pass as eighteen. "I'm thinking about moving to Fawcett. It's nice here, with all the ambient magic and stuff."
This got him a wide-eyed look. "Do you use magic?"
"Something like that."
"Cool."
Danny took in the considering glint in Billy's eyes and decided that it was future!Danny's problem. Present!Danny was currently occupied with trying to stay off the streets. That giant bag of cash he'd accidently absconded with would be helpful and Danny felt kind of bad... but his growling stomach had chased that away quickly.
"This way!"
Danny shrugged his wavering morality off and followed the kid, shouldering his new and stolen duffle bag. If anything happened, he could just go ghost. It wouldn't be the weirdest thing that's happened in this city, Danny made sure to check.
"Have you been by the zoo?" Billy began to rattle off his favorite details about the Fawcett city zoo as he wove around the city.
Danny didn't think he'd actually have to go ghost.
"Not yet, actually. Is it true that there's a talking tiger there?"
"Yeah! Tawky Tawny! He's my friend!"
"Awesome."

“Panic erupted at Central City Hall after unknown gunmen kidnapped Congressman Leonard Snart in broad daylight during his 'Metas are Human' rally. Eyewitnesses to the attack say three of Snart's security guards were killed in their efforts to protect the Congressman and four more were injured. Authorities say they are putting in every effort to recover the Congressman, working around the clock to bring him home safely. If anyone has any information regarding—”
“Hey man, are you watching the news?” Barry didn't bother with a hello when he heard the call connected, his eyes still glued to the footage of the kidnapping replaying on the TV screen. It was the first time since being back in Central that he'd felt the familiar course of adrenaline start to build in his blood. His feet were already vibrating just thinking about running head-first into a new mission. This was a problem he could solve as easily as making a run to the grocery store. He might not be in the military anymore and his whole team may be suspended from using their powers on US soil until the investigation is over, but there wasn't a chance in hell he was going to let that stop him from saving not only his personal hero but the Congressman leading the fight for metahuman rights. If Leonard Snart died, metahumans wouldn’t stand a chance against the discrimination and dehumanization they were up against in Congress.
“Yeah, crazy right? Can't believe they got the drop on Captain Cold.” Cisco replied readily, the echoing broadcast accompanying his voice. “I mean, we've all heard the stories from General Lance.”
Leonard Snart hadn’t always been a Congressman, of course. He was the beloved Mayor of Central City before that, and a decorated police officer briefly after being honorably discharged from the military due to an injury in the field. Leonard Snart was the only human to ever Captain the same covert metahuman team Barry had helped lead for the past five years. The original Rogues were legendary, especially their human leader. He may have only been human, but Snart had a genius-level intellect and was an expert tactician, not to mention an exceptional marksman and a bit of a kleptomaniac at the most convenient of times. Captain Cold was a decorated hero who helped turn the Rouges into the military's best secret weapon. The motivational stories that Sara had told them during training and the old missions she would drill them on had fueled Barry's endless quest to be the best operative he could be. Chasing Captain Cold's legacy like it was critical to his career, right up to the point of obsession. It had helped him rank up quickly, religiously studying Snart's tactical strategies, missions, and reports. Barry learned from his mistakes before he could even make them most of the time thanks to Snart’s detailed mission logs and his additional references to counter scenarios that would have been successful. Barry was the man he is today because of Leonard Snart–his hero, his teacher, and his inspiration. He couldn’t stand back on the sidelines and hope someone else was going to put a plan together and save Snart.
He had to do something.
“Yeah, they would have just shot him in the street if they wanted him dead,” Barry theorized, finally giving in to the restlessness running through his body and taking off into a sprint, barely being able to enjoy the exhilarating feeling of running again before he was across town and right into the middle of Cisco’s underground workshop. “The kidnappers must want something else, but that doesn't mean they won't kill him when they get it.”
“Is this you trying to ask me to look into where they’re keeping him?” Cisco questioned with a surprised eyebrow raised as he took the phone away from his ear and set it down near the gutted metal tube spilling over with wires sitting in front of the scientist, along with an array of tools and loose equipment. If Barry wasn’t mistaken it was one of Hartley’s sonic grenades he was tinkering with. The same sonic grenades the Miltary had confiscated. Barry knew he couldn't have been the only one going stir-crazy since being discharged, but Cisco had been smart enough not to inform the government about his ability to breach, allowing him easy access to anything he wanted, from this world or another. Cisco always had to be doing something with his hands, anything to keep him busy and his ideas flowing. It was a trait Barry had always admired about his best friend, especially right now.
“Maybe? I don't know. I feel like I should do something, he could die,” Barry replied warily, running a hand through his hair as he considered what would happen if he didn't get involved. “The guys who grabbed him have to be professionals, there's no way of knowing what they'll do if SWAT gets involved. I'm thinking if you can pin down his location I can be in and out with Snart before you finish telling me the address.”
“I'll let Frosty and Cait know what's up while I track him down, have them set up the med room for him just in case.” Cisco was already abandoning his workbench and moving towards his computer as he spoke, typing out a message to the girls on his phone while he booted up his PC. “Want me to contact his team and let them in on the plan?”
“After. I don't want to take the chance if this is an inside job. I want Snart safe before we bring outsiders in on this.” Barry responded, knowing in his gut that the only thing they could afford to worry about right now was making sure Snart made it out of this alive.
“Yeah good call, can't have the man spearheading the ‘Metas are Human' movement dying before he can get the bill passed.” Cisco agreed with an approving nod, fingers dancing over the keyboard as he pulled up the satellite footage of the kidnapping.
“Exactly. He's our only chance at keeping our civil rights, Cisco, we gotta save him.” He didn't mention he was their only chance of getting the team back together and their dishonorable discharges dropped. Lance still kept in contact with them all even if it was dangerous for her own career to be mixed up with their disgraced team at such an uneasy time like this. She had risked it though to tell them she had talked to Snart about their situation and he had vowed to do what he could to get them all reinstated and the investigation handled by an unbiased party.
“I know man, I'm tracking them through CCTV cameras right now, shouldn't be much longer. You should suit up.” Cisco suggested, pressing a button on a small remote while nodding towards the now moving back wall where he kept the team’s secret emergency gear stashed. It seemed like Cisco was keeping a lot of secrets from the government down here.
“Red or black?” Barry asked the scientist, trying not to get caught up in the nostalgia of seeing his team's suits lined up and on display again. It had only been three months since the team was disbanded but it felt like years to him. This felt like coming home, much more than arriving at Central City airport after 12 years away had.
“Black. Should probably keep this one stealthy.” Cisco replied, turning his head to the side to meet Barry's eye. “Are we playing this like Karmana or Kota Baharu?”
“Moscow,” Barry said with a soft hum, trembling fingers reaching for the reinforced tripolymer fabric waiting for him. It really had been too long, the anticipation was almost too much for him to handle. He's missed the comfort of his super suit. Of his team. His life. God, everything had gone to such shit so quickly that he never even got to prepare himself for never suiting up and leading a mission again. It had been stripped from him just like his team, his rank, and his reputation had.
“Oh really?” Cisco curved his surprise quickly, his worry pushing forward instead. “You think he'll remember the call sign?”
“He'll remember,” Barry replied confidently, not wasting another second and flashing into his suit. It was even better than he remembered, like a missing limb growing back, or maybe he had missed his old life more than he cared to admit. Now, he felt safe and powerful and needed. Three things that had been severely lacking in his life since being discharged.
“Let's hope you're right,” Cisco muttered before glancing down at his phone and smirking in triumph. “I've got the location and Cait is almost ready. It's showtime, Lieutenant Flash.”
“Don't call me that man. I'm not your lieutenant anymore.” Barry said with a shake of his head, brushing off Cisco's quick reply.
“The government may have royally fucked us all over and disbanded the team, but that doesn't mean I lost respect for the rank you earned dude.”
“Whatever, can you just give me the address please? We have a Congressman to save.” Barry pulled his cowl up, letting it settle into place and feeling his shoulders drop down, all the tension he was carrying leaving him at once. There was no better feeling than using his powers to save someone, and now after months of moping around his shoebox apartment and his mind-numbing third-shift security gig, having to refrain from using his speed, he was going to get to use it to save Leonard Snart. He knew the ‘Oh shit, I’m going to meet Leonard Snart!’ freak out he would no doubt have later would be embarrassing and long, but it would mean Snart would be alive and that was more than enough for Barry to look forward to making a fool of himself in the future.
“Uh, yeah, about that,” Cisco winced at the latest text that popped up, shooting Barry a constipated smile. “Hopefully he's like really grateful you’re risking it all right now to save his ass and can keep you from getting arrested for doing it. Frost says they know you're active. APB is about to go out. Waller is pissed.”
“Better make this good then, I'm too pretty for prison.” Barry couldn't help the grin that stretched across his face as Cisco finally rattled off the address to him, offering him a lazy salute that a year ago would have gotten him kitchen duty for two weeks. Now it just earned him a good-natured laugh.
“Good luck, Lieutenant,” Cisco said with an encouraging pat on the back, letting out a small laugh to himself when Barry took off just as quickly as he had appeared. “Something tells me you're going to need it.”

still thinking about my post from the other day about eobard making barry the flash about a decade earlier, when he's still a teenager, so he'd be easier to manipulate. and then obviously i started thinking about where len would be in this scenario because i'm unwell and i have permanent leonard snart brainrot :)
assuming barry's 13 in this AU and we're sticking with the same age gap, len would be around 30... so then i started thinking about how different the dynamic would be, with a lonely barry who's being increasingly isolated by eobard, right in the thick of the most tumultous time in his relationship with joe, because he's always sneaking off and coming back all busted up and lying his head off and acting all cagey and exploding with temper every five minutes---except while joe thinks he's just a traumatized kid acting out and having a hard time at school, really he's off every night being "trained" by eobard and then being pitted against fully grown adult metas... though i do think i'd make at least some of them the same age as barry if only because imagine the ANGST of barry getting his powers, thinking he finally has one up on his bullies, and then the other kids at school start turning into metas as well.
i'm thinking specifically of tony woodward—all the pain and frustration and humiliation that twenty-five-year-old barry felt facing up against his childhood bully, now with powers... imagine that, except he's still at school, still stuck in the thick of it with this kid who's made his life hell, except now his bully has superpowers, and so any fantasies barry might have had about kicking his ass now he's the flash and is more powerful than any of the kids at school could imagine? well, forget it, because tony's STILL bigger and stronger than him and now he's now kicking barry's ass outside of school too
anyway i'm getting sidetracked. my point is i was thinking about moody teenage barry and an older len who's faced up against the flash, thinking there's a new player in town, only to discover that the flash is some scrawny punk kid with no one in his corner, and all the adults in his life are failing him, ESPECIALLY this creep eobard thawne who's "mentoring" him. len takes a very dim view of anyone who's getting a kid mixed up in the criminal world, considering his own father did it to him, AND he's just getting skeevy vibes off eobard anyway because he's an adult and better equipped to see through eobard's manipulations, unlike barry, who's doing the infuriating teenage thing of thinking he's sooo mature for his age and knows what he's doing and is not gonna listen to anyone who's trying to warn him that this whole thing is super sketchy and he's falling victim to a predator, but unfortunately he's not gonna realize it until he's a decade or so older and his frontal lobe develops---
and so we have this (platonic bc barry's like 13/14, though barry probably has a lil unrequited crush) coldflash dynamic with them kinda being friends bc len's somehow inadvertently ended up a mentor/support system for this fucked up, scrappy, little meta kid because god knows no one else is looking out for him, and anyway here's a small snippet of what my brain's doing (unedited but whatever we're just having fun and god knows i can't start another insane sprawling AU right now as much as i've been violently chewing on this idea all day, soooo)
Barry picked at the splintered wood on the table. “Eobard makes me feel kinda weird sometimes.”
Len watched him out of the corner of his eye. He didn’t like the sound of that. “Weird how?”
Barry shrugged his birdlike shoulders.
For a moment, Len focused on the map laid out in front of him, considering his next move. When it came to locks, carefully getting them to open up was his specialty. When it came to people, not so much.
He decided to be blunt. “He touch you?”
Barry’s mouth popped open, outrage and disgust mingling together. “No!” he protested, his voice cracking a little. Immediately, his mouth snapped shut, jaw jutting out mulishly, and he glared at Len. “Not like that.”
Len scrutinized him. He was pretty satisfied it was an honest answer. The kid wasn’t a bad liar, given time to prepare, but he sucked at improv; put him on the spot and he crumbled in seconds.
“He’s just… intense, that’s all. About my powers.”
Somehow Len doubted that was all he was intense about. Clearly something about this Eobard creep was making the kid’s spidey senses tingle, and probably for good reason. Len knew his type—there were plenty like him in prison, doing time for their proclivities. And plenty more on the outside who were better at hiding it. Just because the guy hadn’t put his hands on the kid so far didn’t mean he hadn’t thought about it.
“You thought about talking to someone?” Len asked. “An adult?”
Barry gave him a withering look like only a teenager could, then looked him insolently up and down, like he was missing something very obvious. Len gave him a similarly derisive look right back, one with over a decade of extra power behind it, just to show him how it was done. “I meant an authority figure.”
“You mean like a shrink?” Barry scoffed—which was pretty similar to what Len’s response would have been if anyone had made that suggestion to him. “Pretty sure Joe’s insurance wouldn’t cover another one. And we’d have to go out of state. I’ve seen every shrink in the city and they all think I’m crazy.”
“Your Dad, then.” Not that Len believed a guy who murdered his wife was exactly a stellar role model, and clearly Henry Allen was no stranger to manipulation himself, to have the kid so staunchly convinced he hadn’t done it when it had happened right in front of him—but having a father in prison had its perks. Len’s own father wasn’t exactly father of the year, but even he’d have called in a few favours from Iron Heights if he caught wind of some creep sniffing around his kid, if only on principle.
“I’m not allowed to see him,” Barry muttered.
The dark look in his eye told Len that there was little use in suggesting he told Joe. Clearly, they still weren’t getting along.
#that was a lot of preamble for a very short snippet but we're setting the tone#i have a lot of thoughts about this hypothetical universe#sorry young rogues AU. young team flash AU is where it's at#except there is no team flash because eobard is isolating barry to make sure he has no friends and allies to fall back on <3#my fics#cw grooming#cw child abuse mention#young flash fic

Hollywood comes to Central City, interviewing meta humans to try and make the powers for a super hero movie more realistic.
Barry arguing over how his powers work because everything they want to do with their speedy character is not how being a speedster works, it is wrong and bad, especially if they're just going to pretend there's no such thing as the Speed Force because then what the hell is protecting their speedster from the consequences of friction????
Cisco trolling his interviewer over how his powers work for the fun of it, when he isn't being distracted explaining how other meta powers work.
Mark Mardon wants to know if he could get a work release from prison to make the weather for the outdoor scenes more authentic. Who needs fake rain when their weather guy can make a real storm, right????
Frost keeps freezing their cameras and running away.
Leonard Snart convinces six different interviewers that he is six different types of meta. He's still not a meta.
Mick sets someone on fire. He somehow gets a date out of it because she's a stunt woman.
Lisa keeps stealing things from her interviewer and insisting it's very definitely her (non-existent) meta power and not her picking his pockets because he's a super easy mark.
Hartley keeps asking about how the studio treats it's minority workers and encouraging unionization of the non-unionized workers. They're listening.
Ralph attempts to get a job as a stunt man but can't seem to find the right person to talk to about auditioning. Teaches someone how to make balloon animals with his arm. Somehow no one realizes he's a meta despite this.
Top somehow gets cast and fired as the lead actress all in one day. Doesn't want to talk about it, just wants to ice her hand because breaking someone else's nose really hurts. No charges filed, everyone is suspicious.
Mirror Master leaves someone with a suspiciously broken nose trapped in a mirror. Team Flash unusually reticent about removing this guy from the mirror.
Eobard somehow manages to show up for an interview. Throws a fit when asked if the homoerotic undertones to his rivalry with the Flash are mutual or something he's bringing to the table alone.
Rainbow Raider offers to help actors be more authentic with their emotions. At least one actor takes him up on the offer, gives best performance of career.
Shawna takes her interviewer on a teleportation trip around Central City. Ends in a bar where they commiserate about shitty ex boyfriends.
Jitters sends Jaco to run a coffee booth for the interviews. Somehow he winds up with a bio-pic movie deal. No one knows how this happened, least of all him.
Goldface's interview devolves when his interviewer asks his second in command how long he's been in love with Keith. Though stunned, Goldface is receptive to the romantic possibilities, leaves his third in command in charge of the operation to whisk the second in command of to Coast City for the weekend. Interviewer possibly taking notes for a fanfic later on.
Amunet gets arrested for human trafficking after her interviewer turns out to be an undercover police officer that she 'spontaneously' confessed to.

Leonard Snart x Reader; Father's Day
So as a person with a recovering alcoholic dad, Father's day is an off day for me emotionally. One character that helps me through times like these is Len, and this wouldn't leave my mind. I hope you enjoy this. CW for: alcohol, angst to fluff.
Len looked down at Central City from his balcony, taking another swig of his fifth beer, leaning on the railing to steady himself, buzzed. He wasn’t planning on stopping at buzzed today. His phone sat neglected on the nightstand, its constant buzzing finally ceased, Lisa texting him, calling him, over and over to ensure he wasn’t going to do anything stupid. Well, stupider than usual.
“Don’t worry, sis. I’m not leaving ya. Not again.” Len spoke aloud to no one as he downed the remaining contents, stumbling back inside to grab another beer, popping the cap off ready to take a swig before there was a knock at the door. He hadn’t invited anyone to this private party. Len swiftly and quietly grabbed his gun and concealed it in his coat, loosely hanging off his shoulders; it would look like he just had his hand in his pocket. He took a quick glance through the peephole, expecting Mick, Lisa, someone unknown trying to kill or capture him... Not you, standing there patiently, staring at your phone with a concerned look on your face. Len sighed as he put his gun back where it was. Lisa must have sent you.
You, his neighbor down the hall, three doors to be exact. You’d become basically an honorary Rogue, seeing some crazy shit and not saying a thing, hell you even helped hide him, Axel, Roscoe, and Mark one time at your job. You’ve patched him up a few times, and checked on him just to make sure he was alright; this was another one of those times. His sister had texted you, worried she couldn’t get a hold of her brother, explaining the hurt today could bring; Father’s Day. Lisa had confided in you before about their rocky past, and you’d lent an intent and sympathetic ear, making sure to steer clear of the topic around her rightfully protective older brother.
Now, you tapped your foot out of anxiety as you stood in front of said brother’s door. You liked Len, sure, but it didn’t feel right, starting a relationship with a woman’s brother who’d become your best friend. You would have factored in the criminal part if it actually bothered you, but honestly, Len’s problem solving, cunning, and intelligence were some of the factors that made him attractive to you. You finally heard the click of the locks, and the door cracked open.
“Lisa sent you, didn’t she?” Len asked, his voice regretful and slightly slurred; he was drinking again.
“Yes. And no. I wanted to come over anyways, and then Lisa sent me over here. Can I come in?” You knew pity was not a favorable way to approach Len when he was like this, so you acted aloof and casual. Len took a few moments, the sigh on the other side of the door audible. “Yeah, alright. Usual rules.” Len huffed as he opened the door and stepped aside, gesturing you in. “Don’t touch anything.” You muttered to yourself as Len walked back to the balcony, beer in hand.
“So. What’s the occasion? Everything alright?” Len scoffed at your attempt at sniffing out the reason for his intoxication. “Oh yeah, everything’s fine. Just living the life daddy set me and Lis up for.” Len rolled his eyes as he took a gulp. You walked up beside him on the balcony, looking at the city below with him. It was a cool night, that was certain. “Can I touch you, or would you rather I didn’t?” You tentatively asked him. Sometimes, when Len was deep in thought or upset, he didn’t like being touched, and would rather be left to his own devices.
When no response came, only dropping his head at your question, did you decide to place a hand on his arm, using your thumb to stroke up and down to be comforting. “I know how it feels, to some extent. My father may be a recovered alcoholic, but he was an alcoholic first, then recovering. Riddled with relapses. He may not have been violent, just talked a lot, but I dreaded hearing a bottle open. I would get anxiety whenever I saw the pattern unfolding in front of me. They don’t define how we turn out, though. You either let them, or you do your best not to be like them.”
“And what would you consider me?” Len’s voice held traces of resentment. “If you think I’m going to call you your dad because you indulge every now and then, you’re wrong. You may go overboard sometimes, but you keep to yourself or celebrate with friends when you do. You’re nothing like your dad. You’re smart, you’re protective, you’re independent, you care about those around you. You’re a leader, Len. I just wish you’d treat yourself a little nicer.” Len looked you in the eyes the entire time you spoke, and you watched all the emotions flitter about; surprise, understanding, then an emotion you’d never fully seen before. He seemed softer, somehow. Not weak, but gentle, compared to the cold and callous front he was trying so hard to put on before.
Len stared at you for a few moments before he smirked at you and returned his gaze to the city below. “You care too much about someone like me, you know? Might get you hurt, and I don’t wanna see that happen.” Len’s face turned regretful, not letting himself get close. You sighed, leaning on the cold railing with him; you hadn’t anticipated to be spending time outside, and weren’t exactly dressed for the weather. “Well, I won’t get hurt with someone like you to protect me, now, will I?” You lightly elbowed him, and he chuckled. “Can’t be there all the time, snowflake.” “Well then, good thing I can take care of myself, too, huh?” The nickname was new, but not unwelcome. What was unwelcome was the shiver that ran down your spine. Len spotted your discomfort and shrugged off his parka, draping it over your shoulders.
“See? You’re a good guy to me, Lisa, and the Rogues. Your actions matter most to those closest to you, and we’ve all accepted the criminal Captain Cold.” You dramatized his monicker and he laughed. “Why won’t you let us accept Leonard Snart, too? Hell, I see him the most, second only to your sister, per usual.” Len glanced at you, sighing before dumping his beer over the balcony. “Let’s take this inside. Don’t need you catching a cold.” Len winked at you, laughing as you groaned at the pun, playfully rolling your eyes. You followed him inside, and he shut and locked the door to the balcony, swiping his parka off your shoulders and tossing it somewhere in the room, sitting next to you on the couch as you talked about everything and anything else other than dads.
Len finally let you text Lisa back that he was alright, and even answered her face time as you did your best not to laugh as she chewed him out for ignoring and worrying her. You turned on the TV for some background noise and intermittent viewing between lulls in the conversation, the clock striking midnight before either of you were tired. It was 1am by the time Len decided to call it a night and offered for you to stay, which you gladly accepted. “Oh! It’ll be like a sleepover! I haven’t really had many of those. Should I go grab my makeup and plushies?” Len chuckled at your teasing. “Who needs plushies and makeup when you’re already soft and pretty enough?” You laughed, assuming Len was joking, only to quickly quiet down into a chuckle when he stayed relatively serious, a small smirk on his lips.
“Come on, you can sleep in my bed. Or would you like the couch?” Len broke the silence, leaning on the doorway to his room. “Well, if you’re going to set the thermostat to freezing and deprive me of my plushies, I guess I’ll just have to cuddle you.” You joked as you wrapped your arms around his waist. “Hm. Sounds good to me.” Len smirked at your brief shock; you didn’t think that would work. You were beaming internally as you cuddled into Len, who wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer into him. You had no idea what this was, platonic, romantic? Honestly, at the moment, you couldn’t quite care, just wanting this to go on forever and never end. It felt safe, and comfortable with him, and it would seem he felt the same about you, knocked out within minutes of getting comfortable. You drew patterns on his arm before succumbing to sleep yourself, the steady rise and fall of his chest sending you off.

There was silence in Snart's ears, where there should have been a heartbeat.
It wasn't new. Hadn't been knew since the city went to hell and everyone was either rebuilding from the damage or crumbling underneath it. The particle accelerator took almost as much as it promised to give, and now everything was different. Like a veil had been lifted and now everyone could be seen in clearer light.
It's easier to see who people really are when they no longer have a fantasy to hide behind.
The hardest fantasy to be pulled away from Snart was that of his oh-so-fated soulmate. The second the explosion hit the city, the constant heartbeat that added an extra rhythm in Snart's ears sped up to almost lightning speed. Then stopped. Then started again.
It had been this way for months, now. Silence, then a rapid pattering of heartbeat, then silence again. Snart would make breakfast in the silence of his soulmate's potential death, then hear them come back online as he did the dishes.
However his soulmate was, they were not ready to fucking die.
In a better world, he would seek them out anyway. In a different time, he would find who they were from the list of casualties and race to their side like some knight in shining armor that would somehow save the day. In the world of fairytales, he'd walk in and their eyes would meet and suddenly everything would be fixed again.
But he didn't live in those worlds. He lived in a world where Leonard Snart was a toxin that poisoned everyone he loved and destroyed them from the inside out. Where he was a burden to everyone that knew him, and would destroy any glimmer of peace felt by his soulmate's dying family if he showed up and suddenly tried to make his presence known.
There was no fairytale ending, no miracle that turned the tides around. There was reality, there was pain, there was the silence burning his ears. All he could do was wait.
...
...
...
The heartbeat started up again.

Flash #296.5: A Cold Day....
My sister's boyfriend and I get along quite well, and, as a result, he's read a lot of my Flash fanfics (at my request). This eventually led to him asking to read some of my Flash comics, which I subsequently loaned him. Then, for Christmas, he wrote me a Flash fanfic of his own, which I loved enough that I'm going to share it here with everyone.
Note that this story is based pretty heavily on Cary Bates' Bronze Age comics.
The story/comic script is below the cut.
TEASER PAGE
Roscoe Dillon (The Top) stands behind Leonard Snart (Captain Cold) in a red prison cell. Snart sits in the center of the room on a single metal chair, with his arms and legs strapped down. An electronic glow, like that from a television screen, reflects on the floor of the cell and on Snart’s face. Snart wears an orange prison jumper, while Dillon wears a tattered version of his yellow-and-green striped Top jumper. The Top laughs with arms akimbo while Snart looks off of the panel in terror.
CAP/NARRATOR:
Leonard Snart, alias Captain Cold, who wants nothing more then to put The Flash on ice--Roscoe Dillon, The Top, whose efforts to use his gyroscopic powers for evil led to his untimely demise.
THE TOP:
Welcome home forever, Captain! You arrived just in time for your turn in the hot seat!
CAP/NARRATOR:
But how could a heist gone wrong cause the King of Cryogenics to meet the deceased Royal of Rotation?--And what torments has the treacherous Top been planning since his untimely demise?--Captain Cold will find out, on “A COLD DAY...”
Writer’s Note: This fan script is set just before Flash #297, in which Henry Allen is briefly killed in a car accident and The Top possesses his body. I wanted to explore what might have happened to Roscoe Dillon in his time as a disembodied spirit and what led him to realize that he could repossess a dead corpse. This script only attempts to stay true to lore contemporaneous with its numbering; it is likely at odds with material published after Cary Bates’ run as author of The Flash. Spinning off from a pun about “a Cold day in hell,” the rest of this script followed. Hope you enjoy!
PAGE ONE (FIVE PANELS)
Panel 1. The moon and stars shine down on a quiet street in downtown Central City. The storefront of “Cary’s Pawn Shop” is visible on the left side of the street. An armored car sits idling on the curb in front of the shop.
CAP/NARRATOR:
The nights in Central City always start peacefully--
Panel 2. The glass of the pawn shop window suddenly shatters outward with a red wave of fiery energy. CAPTAIN COLD’s voice comes from within the pawn shop.
SFX:
CRASH!!
CAP/NARRATOR:
--but in a town where costumed crooks abound--
CAPTAIN COLD: (OP)
C’mon Rory, I’ll load up the truck. Let’s blow outta here!
Panel 3. Full shot of Captain Cold (Leonard Snart) and HEAT WAVE (Mick Rory) as they step through the shattered pawn shop window in full costume. Heat Wave wields his heat gun, from which a smoking residue rises. Captain Cold carries a sack of stolen jewelry over his back. A burglar alarm begins to blare in the background.
SFX:
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
HEAT WAVE:
Right behind ya Len! This burglar alarm will have him hot on our trail.
CAP/NARRATOR:
--they never end that way!
PAGE ONE, CONTINUED
Panel 4. A full side view of the armored car. Heat Wave sits in the driver’s seat and turns suddenly to look at the sideview mirror. Captain Cold lugs the sack of loot from his shoulder into the open rear hatch.
HEAT WAVE:
Looks like The Flash is racing up behind us!
CAPTAIN COLD:
Heh. Right on cue!
Panel 5. Medium rear shot of Captain Cold as he sits in the back of the armored car. We see the approaching red-and-yellow blur of THE FLASH racing up the street. Captain Cold looks back over his shoulder to shout at Heat Wave in the driver’s seat.
THE FLASH: (THOUGHT)
What are Captain Cold and Heat Wave up to? Must be trying to bait me--
CAPTAIN COLD:
Time to test your anti-Flash auto mods! Let’s burn rubber!
PAGE TWO (FIVE PANELS)
Panel 1. Rearview of the armored car from The Flash’s perspective. The car peels out, and a huge burst of flame shoots from the exhaust and tire tracks. Captain Cold smiles grimly from the open rear of the car. The Flash holds up his arms to protect his face from the blaze.
SFX:
SKRRRRRRRT!
Panel 2. Overhead view of the speeding armored car surrounded by a shield of fire, followed closely by the Flash. Flames are left behind in the vehicle’s path. Captain Cold’s voice comes from the rear hatch of the car.
CAPTAIN COLD: (OP)
Let’s see The Flash work his way through an ionic heat-shield!
THE FLASH: (THOUGHT)
I’ll have to dodge these flames faster than their heat can reach me! But how to get through that flaming shield?
Panel 3. In the driver’s seat of the armored car, medium shot of Heat Wave as he turns the wheel into a sharp turn. The Flash is seen approaching in the sideview mirror, dodging between the flaming tracks in the street. Captain Cold’s voice comes from the rear of the car.
HEAT WAVE:
He’s running between the flames! I’ll try to shake him.
SFX:
SCREEECH
CAPTAIN COLD: (OP)
Chill out, I’m still back here!
Panel 4. Close up on one of the tires of the armored car as it hits a tall bump in the road.
SFX:
Ka-Thunk!
Panel 5. Side view of the speeding armored car as it bucks from the road bump. Captain Cold tumbles out of the open rear hatch, through the flame shield, and toward the speeding Flash. Meanwhile, The Flash zig-zags at super speed through the flaming tire tracks left in the car’s wake.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Argh!
THE FLASH: (THOUGHT)
The Captain fell out of the truck! A headbutt should do the trick--
PAGE THREE (FIVE PANELS)
Panel 1. Close up shot of the scorched Captain Cold and The Flash’s faces, inches away from each other before impacting at super-speed. Flames rise up around them.
Panel 2. Captain Cold’s face crashes into The Flash’s head at impossible speed, immediately rendering him unconscious.
SFX:
Crack!
Panel 3. Full shot of Captain Cold lying crumpled in the street, surrounded by flames. In the background, we see The Flash speeding after Heat Wave and the getaway car.
THE FLASH: (THOUGHT)
I’ll have to come back for CC, I’ve got bigger fish to fry!
CAPTAIN COLD: (THOUGHT)
All this fire around--but still--so cold--
Panel 4. All is black, except for Leonard Snart’s internal monologue. His thoughts creep between multiple bubbles.
CAPTAIN COLD: (THOUGHT)
Oof, my head--What a hit!--Wait, where am I?--I’m not in the street, but all the same--
Panel 5. An overhead view of the interior of a red-scaled, two-story cell block within Central City prison. Figures in tattered orange prison garb walk in a manacled line down the hall. Wardens in red police uniforms stand guard with billy clubs. This is how Leonard Snart’s mind comprehends the Astral Plane--the holding place for the
Astral Bodies of deceased humans.
CAP/CAPTAIN COLD: (THOUGHT)
--it feels so familiar!
PAGE FOUR (SIX PANELS)
Panel 1. Full shot of Captain Cold as he sits up on a cot in a barred prison cell. He wears an orange prison jumpsuit. THE TOP’s voice comes from the other side of the prison bars,
CAPTAIN COLD:
Central City prison? I must have been out cold for a while!
THE TOP: (OP)
Nice guess, Captain. But as usual--
Panel 3. Full shot of Roscoe Dillon looking proudly through the cell bars. He wears a tattered, torn version of his yellow-and-green striped costume. A large key ring covered full of gold keys is attached to his waist. Snart looks up in shock.
THE TOP:
--you’ve spun a bit off the mark.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Roscoe Dillon?!* Impossible!! I went to your funeral!
CAP 1:
*Roscoe Dillon is--or was--the given name of the villainous Top!
Panel 4. Medium shot of The Top with a smug expression as Snart grips the cell bars.
THE TOP:
Ah, yes. I watched that sad affair unfurl from here.
PAGE FOUR, CONTINUED
CAPTAIN COLD:
So they’ve had you secretly locked up this whole time?
THE TOP:
If this were Central City prison--
Panel 5. The Top reaches his hands through the bars of Captain Cold’s cell--a red warping surrounds his wrists as they emerge through the bars and take hold of Snart’s waist.
THE TOP:
--could I--
CAPTAIN COLD:
What the--!?
Panel 6. Roscoe pulls Captain Cold through the bars of the cell into the open hall of the cell block. The same warping effect surrounds Snart’s body as he reaches the halfway point through the bars and then is freed.
THE TOP:
--do this?
PAGE FIVE (FIVE PANELS)
Panel 1. Full shot of Captain Cold and The Top walking down the cell block hallway. The Top leads the way as Snart looks down at his rematerialized body.
CAPTAIN COLD:
C’mon, we’ve seen Mirror Master pull better stunts than that--right?
THE TOP:
If I were Scudder* in disguise, would I be modest enough to resist gloating?
CAPTAIN COLD:
Hmph.
CAP 1:
*Sam Scudder, alias the notoriously narcissistic Mirror Master!
Panel 2. Zoomed out shot of Captain Cold and The Top as they walk down the cell block hall. A variety of thugs and criminals occupy cells behind them while a guard stands at attention.
CAPTAIN COLD:
So if we ain’t in a dream or a mirage, where are we?
THE TOP:
I call it The Penitentiary.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Like a jail? But for who?
Panel 3. Medium shot of The Top and Captain Cold as they stop in front of a hallway blocked off by bars with a prominent lock. The Top whirs through his large keyring at impossible speed and, after finding the right key, inserts it into the lock.
SFX:
Chink!
PAGE FIVE, CONTINUED
Panel 4. Close up shot of the space just above the barred hallway door. The top of the barred door slides to the side just in view at the bottom of the frame. Above the door are words carved into stone: “The Rogue Block”.
SFX:
Whoooosh
THE TOP: (OP)
You’ll soon see!
Panel 5. Full shot of the Top and Captain Cold as they stand in the center of a circular prison room with eight barred cell doors. The Top spreads his arms almost gleefully.
THE TOP:
Welcome to The Rogue Block! The eternal holding cells for our little Gallery.
CAPTAIN COLD: (THOUGHT)
Each of these cells has a Rogue’s name on it--Trickster, Captain Boomerang, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, Heat Wave--even me!
CAPTAIN COLD:
What oddball tricks have you spun up down here?
PAGE SIX (SEVEN PANELS)
Panel 1. Close up of The Top’s face as he smiles devilishly, eyes gleaming through his black, top-shaped eye masks.
THE TOP:
From what I can tell, every person who dies comes to this Next World.
Panel 2. A warbled panel frame indicates a memory, ibid for Panels 3-6 on this page. The Top lies dead in a forest clearing, as seen in The Flash #243. The Top rises in ethereal form over his body, still wearing his traditional costume.
CAP/THE TOP:
After my untimely demise, which ended in a flurry of rage and vengeance--
Panel 3. Wide shot of The Top waking up in a prison cot in a red cell in the Astral Plane. He now wears the orange jumpsuit of a prisoner.
CAP/THE TOP:
--I found myself here, amongst the spirits of thousands of other crooks.
Panel 4. Medium shot of The Top with his head against the bars of his cell, knuckles white from clenching the bars.
CAP/THE TOP:
As I spent months pacing, my anger rose. I was furious at that scarlet speed demon for destroying my beautiful mind. But I was even more furious that you Rogues could plunder Central City while I was trapped here.
Panel 5. A wide frame with a montage of events on Earth. From left to right: Captain Cold, THE TRICKSTER, and the WEATHER WIZARD play cards; LISA SNART weeps as she sharpens an ice skate on a grindstone; Barry Allen hangs up his hat as he kisses his wife IRIS after a day of work. In each of these scenes, The Top’s ethereal bust watches, unseen, in dismay.
PAGE SIX, CONTINUED
CAP/THE TOP:
I can still see Earth, Snart. I’ve watched you carousing--my darling Lisa mourning-- that wretched Flash, coming home to a happy wife. It all became too much.
Panel 6. Full shot of The Top as he warps open the bars of his cell and steps through them. He is surprised by this new power. The warping effect on the bent bars resembles that seen when Captain Cold was pressed through the bars.
CAP/THE TOP:
Around that same time, I realized that my superhuman mind had retained some power here--if I exerted enough mental energy, I could mold the substance of this place.
Panel 7. Full rear view of The Top as he stands in front of what once was an empty wall. With arms raised, he begins to force a new hallway to progressively appear where there had formally been blank space.
CAP/THE TOP:
So I hatched an idea. Why not prepare punishments for those two-bit Rogues who thought they could get all of the loot with less competition? We’ll all come here someday, right?
PAGE SEVEN (FIVE PANELS)
Panel 1. Close up of The Top’s eyes gleaming with madness behind his mask.
THE TOP:
And now, Captain Cold, you’ll be the first to see my triumphs here. I’m back on top!
Panel 2. Medium shot of Captain Cold as he rushes toward The Top in an effort to body slam him to the ground. The Top slips out of the way just in time.
CAPTAIN COLD:
You’ve lost it! Give me those keys, I want out of this circus!
Panel 3. The Top turns behind Captain Cold and begins to spin a rain of rotating punches into his back at super speed. Captain Cold is thrown forward.
SFX:
Thwak Thwak Thwak Thwak Thwak Thwak
CAPTAIN COLD:
Ugh!
Panel 4. Front view of Captain Cold as he lies flat on the ground, weakened by The Top’s vicious blows. The Top’s green-and-yellow-clad feet are visible standing beside him.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Erg, that smarts.
THE TOP:
Let’s continue our tour. Since you mentioned the circus, let’s start off with our friend--
Panel 5. Wide shot of a cell with its door hanging open. Inside the cell is what appears to be a long dark hallway with a single thin rope extending out into the darkness. Above the cell, words in stone read “James Jesse.” Rear shot of The Top, arms akimbo, and Captain Cold lying on the ground.
PAGE SEVEN, CONTINUED
THE TOP:
--The Trickster!
PAGE EIGHT (SIX PANELS)
Panel 1. Full shot of Captain Cold crouching on a high wire rope, dozens of feet above the ground in a big top. A tiny crowd and circus ring below are red-scaled. The Top’s lower half gyrates at super speed while he floats alongside Captain Cold. His upper half retains human form as he gloats. All of the panels on this page are, like the rest of the astral plane, depicted in red-scale.
CAPTAIN COLD;
How did we get here? Get me off this thing!
THE TOP:
The Trickster’s greatest fear was always falling--why else would he spend decades inventing floating shoes? So, I figured 100,000 miles of barefoot tightrope-ing would keep him occupied!
Panel 2. Captain Cold slips and tumbles off the tightrope. As he hurdles head-first toward the ground, the Top floats beside him right-side up.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Argh!!!!
THE TOP:
Although I do wonder--is he more afraid of hitting the ground, or of the jeers of the crowd? Let’s see another spot.
Panel 3. Captain Cold and The Top suddenly sit next to each other in an opera box. Captain Cold looks about him rapidly. A full orchestra plays a song below them. A handful of other guests seated in the opera box with them wear formal dress and watch the show. There is no noise in this room other than Captain Cold and The Top’s voices.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Where are we now? Why can’t I hear anything?
THE TOP:
This is our friend The Pied Piper’s cell. Isn’t it wonderful--all of that dreadful racket he loves doesn’t make a peep in here!
PAGE EIGHT, CONTINUED
Panel 4. Medium shot of a GENTLEMAN, Captain Cold, and the Top sitting side-by side in the opera box. Captain Cold shakes the Gentleman’s shoulder to get his attention. The Gentleman looks down toward the orchestra and pays no mind to Captain Cold.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Hey pal, you’ve got to help me. The man next to me is crazy!
THE TOP:
Nobody hears a word you say when you’re trapped in here, Snart. The Piper loved making people dance to his tune--but once he’s here, not a soul will listen to a word he says again!
Panel 5. Full overhead view of Captain Cold, who suddenly is sitting on a stool in a different room. The Top stands beside him. The angle of the view keeps the walls of the room out of frame.
CAPTAIN COLD:
What the--Wait, this room is empty!
THE TOP:
The Mirror Master’s Hall of Reflection may look like a room of empty mirrors--
Panel 6. Medium rearview shot of The Top standing beside the seated Captain Cold. In the mirror straight ahead, Captain Cold sees a reflected memory of himself being shot by a misfire of Heat Wave’s heat gun while The Flash punches him unconscious (see The Flash #166). The walls of the small room they are in are all made of mirrors which reflect the same image.
THE TOP:
--but in fact, they will reflect back all of his memories of The Flash outwitting him! He’ll never get to admire his own pretty face again, and his ego will be crushed. I simply can’t wait!
THE FLASH: (MIRROR MEMORY)
That knocks the Captain--Cold!
PAGE NINE (SIX PANELS)
Panel 1. Full shot of The Top and Captain Cold standing in the center of a circle of two dimensional target dummies shaped like Central City policemen . A rack of boomerangs sits next to Captain Cold. Cold has just thrown a boomerang at a dummy, which harmlessly clunks off of its head and falls to the floor. All of the settings in panels 1 to 3 of this page are red-scaled like the rest of the Astral Plane.
CAP/THE TOP:
Let’s spin up the pace of this tour! Here’s our friend Digger’s* new digs--
SFX:
Clunk
THE TOP:
Infinite target practice with ‘rangs that don’t come back ‘round!
CAP 2:
*Digger Harkness, alias Captain Boomerang!
Panel 2. Full shot of Captain Cold and The Top standing in a small crowd in front of a podium. CLYDE MARDON receives a trophy from an ACADEMIC at the podium.
CAP/THE TOP:
--and the Weather Wizard’s “storm cell”--
ACADEMIC:
And the Central City prize for philanthropy in the sciences goes to--Clyde Mardon!
THE TOP:
A parallel world where his brother Clyde lived--and got all of the kudos for inventing the weather stick!
Panel 3. Full shot of Captain Cold and The Top standing in an industrial freezer. Captain Cold shivers violently, but The Top is unaffected.
CAP/THE TOP:
--and your hot-and-cold chum Heat Wave!
PAGE NINE, CONTINUED
THE TOP:
Locked in a freezer with no thermostat!
CAPTAIN COLD:
This is cold even for my taste!
Panel 4. Full shot of The Top and Captain Cold once again standing in the center of the Rogues’ Block, surrounded by the dark cells.
THE TOP:
So, what do you think of my new Gallery, Snart? I think gathering you all here will make up for the time I lost!
CAPTAIN COLD:
What you’ve lost is your senses! Why go through all of this?
Panel 5. Medium shot of The Top, who spins a small toy top in his hand, and Captain Cold beside him.
THE TOP:
Did I ever tell you why I like Tops? You were one of few who never questioned my interest.
Panel 6. Close up shot of the toy top whirring in The Top’s hand.
CAPTAIN COLD: (OP)
If the job gets done, I don’t ask questions. I mean, Digger likes boomerangs.
PAGE TEN (SIX PANELS)
Panel 1. A memory from The Top’s childhood. Medium shot of BOY ROSCOE DILLON, who lies on the floor in front of a spinning dreidel during a Hanukkah celebration. A lit menorah sits prominently on the table behind him.
CAP/THE TOP:
When I was young, I loved tops because they were predictable. When you spin a top, it shows you the same faces and colors over and over again. What’s more, it can only spin in one of two directions--directions I could choose!
Panel 2. Cut to a more recent memory from The Top’s adult life. He lies on a prison cell cot in an orange “Central City Prison” jumpsuit. He spins a whittled toy top on the floor in front of him. The ground is littered with tops of various sizes. His posture mirrors that of the previous panel.
CAP/THE TOP:
I used to dream of a top that would never stop spinning. It would never change the schedule of my day. It would never turn a corner and force me into an unplanned conversation. It would never lock me in prison and change my plans.
Panel 3. Return to the present, with a wide view of the red-scaled cell blocks of the Astral Plane. A manacled line of prisoners walks by rows of cells. In the foreground, a guard brandishes with his club.
CAP/THE TOP:
Don’t you see it, Snart? The way that time goes on here without the interruption of days--the way that I can shape every inch to realize my vision--
Panel 4. The Top and Captain Cold again stand in the center of the Rogue block. Full shot of the room, where snippets of the six punishment cells can be seen behind their bars.
THE TOP: This place is my infinite, perfectly predictable top!
PAGE TEN, CONTINUED
Panel 5. Medium shot of The Top, who clutches Captain Cold by the collar of his prison jumper and holds him within inches of his face.
THE TOP:
But you’ve distracted me. You must’ve noticed there’s one cell we haven’t visited yet.
CAPTAIN COLD:
You don’t have to do this Dillon! Maybe we can work out a deal.
Panel 6. Front medium shot as The Top leads Captain Cold toward an unseen cell with his arm around the Captain’s shoulder. The Top points straight ahead with one hand. Captain Cold’s expression is sarcastic, but his face is tight with fear.
THE TOP:
Yeah, yeah--there’s no loot to barter down here, old ally. Besides, don’t you like what I have planned for you?
CAPTAIN COLD:
Oh great--
PAGE ELEVEN (SEVEN PANELS)
Panel 1. Full shot of The Top and Captain Cold from within the cell. Inside, there is a heavy metal chair bolted to the floor with untied leather restraints. The wall is covered in a dozen television screens which glow with variegated images.
CAPTAIN COLD:
--I was thinking I would miss T.V. down here.
THE TOP:
Welcome home, Captain!
Panel 2. Medium shot of The Top dragging Captain Cold into the room by one arm, toward the chair.
THE TOP:
The screens in this room are tuned to the earth frequencies of each member of our Rogues’ gallery. You’ll also notice that some screens show the interiors of their cells here in the Rogue Block.
Panel 3. Close up of one of the television screens, which shows a simultaneous scene from Earth. The Flash hands over a handcuffed Heat Wave to a police officer. The burnt-out remains of the armored getaway car stand behind them. Flash’s voice comes from the TV.
THE TOP: (OP)
See, it looks like your pal Heat Wave has caught some heat!
THE FLASH: (TV STATIC)
That takes care of Heat Wave! Now to find Captain Cold.
Panel 4. Medium shot of The Top as he forces Captain Cold down into the metal chair and snaps one of the leather straps shut around his wrist.
SFX:
Click!
PAGE ELEVEN, CONTINUED
THE TOP:
You always pegged yourself as a planner, Snart. You loved to plot heists and make bargains. Now, you’ll have a front-row seat to watch our fellow Rogues fall apart.
Panel 5. Close-up shot of The Top snapping the strap shut on Captain Cold’s other wrist.
THE TOP: (OP)
First you’ll see their earthly passing--which will come one day, no matter how lucky they get.
Panel 6. Full shot of Captain Cold strapped to the chair. He strains against the restraints to no avail.
THE TOP: (OP)
Then, you’ll watch them here, living out their fears forever!
Panel 7. Close up of The Top’s face as his expression changes to fear.
THE TOP:
Wait--what’s happening!?
PAGE TWELVE (SEVEN PANELS)
Panel 1. Same shot as Page Eleven, Panel 6, except that Captain Cold has begun to fade into a translucent astral shade. He smiles. The restraints around his arms and legs go limp.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Looks like you jumped the gun, Dillon. I can feel it--my body--I’m waking up!
THE TOP:
What do you mean waking up!? You’re dead!
Panel 2. Full shot of Captain Cold’s astral form floating above the chair.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Keep the seat warm for me until I come back!
THE TOP: (OP)
No! It’s impossible!
CAPTAIN COLD:
Impossible, Dillon? Or unpredictable?
Panel 3. Back on Earth. Overhead full view of an ambulance, sirens blaring and lights flashing, as it races down a dark Central City street. A doctor’s voice rises from within the ambulance.
CAP/NARRATOR:
Meanwhile, as a prison ambulance speeds to Central City hospital.
SFX:
Wee-Woo! Wee-Woo! Wee-Woo!
DOCTOR: (OP)
You’ve done it!--
PAGE TWELVE, CONTINUED
Panel 4. Interior of the ambulance. Captain Cold lies on a stretcher in a neck brace as his eyes come open. A Doctor stands beside him with a hand on his wrist. The Flash lays his hands on Captain Cold’s chest.
DOCTOR:
--Your superspeed CPR has restarted his heart!
THE FLASH:
Thank goodness! I’m so sorry Captain--I got carried away in that car chase and forgot my strength.
Panel 5. Close up of Captain Cold on the stretcher. He smiles despite the pain in his broken neck.
CAPTAIN COLD:
Don’t mention it. Say, this ambulance isn’t going to Central City prison by chance? I’d love to go somewhere familiar.
Panel 6. Back in the astral plane. The Top sits cross-legged on the floor in the center of his empty Rogue Block. A toy top spins on the ground in front of him.
THE TOP: (THOUGHT)
How had I never thought of it? It would only take an empty corpse for me to return to earth like Snart.
Panel 7. Close up on the toy top, which has stopped spinning and lies still on its side.
THE TOP:
The only question is--whose corpse?
THE END.

demonbirdsforever replied to your text post: Meh.
Yeah, if I'm being honest, I'm not really feeling any of these 'Absolute' books. I get that DC's doing the 'underdog hero' theme, but it doesn't interest me thus far…maybe that'll change if the Flash book is witty or well-written. Trickster looks like she'll be edgy and I don't love that idea, but hopefully I'm wrong.
sparklylanddaze replied to your text post: Ew why snart so ugly tf
You mean Absolute Len? I've seen someone call him a DILF 🤣
orion-nottson replied to your text post: no votes for evan is crazy work, but also funny as hell 😭🙏 like damn, this WOULD happen to him in canon too 💀
He's going to get totally ripped just because of this unfair snub! THEN everyone will want him to wear it!
demonbirdsforever replied to your text post: You should have asked where they got them.
I should have, but they were with other people and I'm shy and awkward 😅

AU where Leo and Ray are visiting the Waverider (Sara's bachelorette party, maybe?) and Ray steals a time courier to go rescue Len as the Oculus explodes.
Len and Leo circling each other like feral cats until they both make a snarky comment that breaks the ice. When he sees the two of them kiss and the crew doesn't react- "Oh, so you guys figured out I'm queer. Good. Got it."
Len looking at Ray and thinking 'Sweet, excited, affectionate human equivalent of a Golden Retriever with a huge dopey grin? Oh hell, my type is multiversal.' Ray just being unspeakably aroused the entire time, and we learn that he used to be a Captain Cold fanboy when he lived on Earth 1.
It takes Mick three days to believe that he's not actually going insane. He makes them wear name tags.
"You guys live on a time machine. How did none of you think to do this before?"
"To be fair, when Snart died, he took most of our functioning brain cells with him."

To Be With You Always
read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/U6kcxvi by Tickytimebomb Noticed NOBODY EVER writes fics about lexjokes. Its one of my favorites so I convinced myself to write a fic for my ship on my own but I got a little carried away. This fic takes place in like a weird AU mix of the Harley Quinn show, the main DC universe, and Lego DC supervillains. This is my first fic so I might mess up the formatting a bit. It is currently unfinished and I don't plan on adding any full on freaky NSFW scenes unless plans change idk. Basically the summary is that Lex Luthor knew Joker before he fell into the acid at ace chemicals, Jack. Jack was one of the only people Lex cared about for whatever reason, and spent like 10 years ignoring the fact that jack totally was Joker by distracting himself with destroying superman. Until Joker started getting attached to Lex and burnt down a freaking building full of people for him. Lex snapped and made a deal with a shady psychologist to send Joker to Arkham where under a new plan with 0 ethical restrictions, Joker would be cured and turned back into Jack. But Lex is a terrible person and makes this process hell on earth for Joker. Narration is on confusing and unreliable on purpose because Lex is repressing and ignoring a shit ton of stuff. Words: 4037, Chapters: 6/16, Language: English Fandoms: DCU (Comics), Harley Quinn (Cartoon 2019), Superman - All Media Types, Batman - All Media Types, DC Extended Universe Rating: Mature Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Rape/Non-Con Categories: Gen, M/M Characters: Joker (DCU), Lex Luthor, Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Edward Nygma, Original Female Character(s), Black Manta (DCU), Leonard Snart, Barbara Minerva, Lois Lane Relationships: Joker (DCU)/Lex Luthor, Joker (DCU) & Lex Luthor, Joker (DCU) & Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor & Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent & Lois Lane Additional Tags: Guilt, Emotional Manipulation, Implied/Referenced Torture, Psychological Torture, Aftermath of Torture, Hurt No Comfort, Begging, Fucked Up, Brainwashing, Medical Trauma, Medical Experimentation, Medical Torture, Attempted Kidnapping, Kidnapping, Confusion, Unreliable Narrator, The Legion of Doom (DCU), Mind Control Aftermath & Recovery, Rough Kissing, Non-Consensual Kissing, Anxiety, Anxiety Attacks, Implied/Referenced Rape/Non-con, Self-Harm, Implied/Referenced Self-Harm, Rape/Non-con Elements, Grieving, Denial, Repression, Five Stages of Grief, Unhealthy Relationships, Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms, Bad Ending, Angst and Humor, Bad Humor, Anger Management, Non-Sexual Submission, Men Crying, no beta we die like me writing this, Non-Consensual Drug Use, Rating: M, My First Fanfic, lowkey devastating, Depression, I submitted a piece of this for my highschool admission, submissive joker, Attempted Rebellion read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/U6kcxvi

Me: Yeah, in my Elseworld 64 Mick Rory is an aromatic asexual masc non-binary who has a queerplatonic relationship with Leonard Snart where they are simultaneously married and divorced. They are the pseudo-uncle of Hartley Rathaway. They live in a beaten-up camper on the Rogue hideout property and hog the living room with beer so they can watch firefighter shows to see the flames. Bonfire nights with them are awesome, and they get smores perfectly right.
@insomniac-jay: Yeah, so Mick Rory is married to a famous rocker chick named Roxy who will beat his ass with the power of song. In fact, that was their first meeting, all because Roxy mistook Mick for a cop. At their wedding, they did bodyshots on each other. Also, they have a son who is a weirdly perfect mixture of them. Roxy has more hockey beef with Leonard than Mick does. It is great.
Me: Hell yeah.

{The particle accelerator... The thing that I naively believed would be the jump start to my career as a scientist, but in reality, it was the source of nothing but loss, regret, and heartbreak, in my life. The night the particle accelerator was turned on, everything started out as we had planned, and in a split second, it all went downhill from there. It became unstable, exploded, and as a result, a lot of people’s lives were completely turned upside-down. From the scientific perspective, my career and reputation were tarnished. None of that mattered to me though, because that was the day I lost the man I love... The man I had planned to spend the rest of my life with... My Ronnie. I thought with tear-filled eyes as I left the coffee shop, where I met Iris to discuss her findings on the meta known as, “The Burning Man.” For the last several weeks, I felt like someone had been following me. Then during a brief visit to the mall, I caught a glimpse of the impossible in a reflection of my car window as I approached my vehicle in preparation to leave the mall} Ronnie... {I murmured out in surprise, but as I no sooner turned around to face the familiar reflection in my window, he was gone; leaving in a burst of fire, of all things. I actually thought my head and mind were playing tricks on me... or at least I did until I saw Iris post something in her blog about, “The Burning Man.” I knew the thought of Ronnie still being alive sounded impossible, but look at what happened to Barry, and the other meta-humans, as a result of the particle accelerator explosion, so who’s to say Ronnie didn’t survive the explosion too. I thought optimistically as I left Jitters with my file folder of information Iris shared with me in hand. No sooner unlocking my car though when I felt a rush of coldness and ice brush past me; forming a thick layer of ice around my car. Slowly turning in my now fearful stance before coming face to face with Leonard Snart} “Caitlin Snow... You have to see the irony of a name like Caitlin /Snow/ and being attacked by “Captain Cold” with his cold gun. Too poetic to pass up, when you think about it.” {Leonard Snart murmured out with his dry tone, but on the off chance that he was so distracted by the sound of his own voice, I decided to take this opportunity to make a run for it. E for effort, I thought to myself as I heard the whirring sound of his cold gun chime out once more, just before I yelped when my feet were unexpectedly met with an icy ground below me. A wince, groan, and a pained yelp following as I slid on the ice; falling to the ground with a hard thud as my feet lost their grip, due to the icy surface beneath me. What made matters worse was when I fell, the file Iris had given me on, “The Burning Man” slid out of my hand and then under my car} Ow... {I murmured out in pain as I laid on the icy cold surface on the ground as Leonard stood over me with a smirk} “Try that again, and it won’t be the ground hit with the cold gun.” {He threatened before adding} “Let’s make a deal... If you cooperate with me, you might just survive this, with all of your limbs fully intact, but if you try to run again, I’ll turn you into an ice sculpture, one limb at a time. Do I make myself clear?” {He said in a droned tone, but before I could respond, he placed electric tape across my mouth to force my silence, lifted me up from the ground, and then tossed me over his shoulder; carrying me toward the back of his van and then tossing me in the back} “I told you I would pull it off without having to cause her physical harm... Well, long term harm, at least, but it’s better than nothing. Now zip tie her hands and feet, so we can get out of here. Part one of of plan is officially in motion, Mick.” {Snart aired out to his partner in crime before walking away from the back of the van. His partner muttering inaudibly under his breath as he used zip ties on my hands and feet; keeping me from any chance of freeing myself and getting the hell out of here. I thought to myself as I laid motionless and afraid in the back of their van; watching Mick leave the van before he forcefully shut and locked the door behind me. Moments later the van started, and within a short time, it moved into life; feeling every bump and turn as they sped down the roadway toward wherever it was they were taking me to as their apparent hostage... Now I just wondered what it was they wanted with me. I thought to myself as the fear continued building within me. The only hope I had now was that Barry and the team, or someone, at least, would find me and come to my rescue, before it was too late}

a friday night fic snippet cos why not!
from dndb, 2-3 chapters ahead of where we're at i think? im still editing the next few but im exciteddd // (usual disclaimer, unedited, second draft so she's at least readable lmao)
Caitlin was very visibly struggling to keep her temper. "Do you mind taking the gun off?" Snart shrugged. He unsheathed the gun from its holster and set it down on the table. They all stared. Barry had more than a passing familiarity with the cold gun---it had been aimed at his head more times than he cared to count---but he barely recognized the familiar silhouette of Snart's infamous weapon beneath the dozens of modifications. Equipped with an extra fuel chamber on either side, a new sight with an adjustable focusing mechanism, and an extra barrel, it had also clearly been through the wringer. The metal casing, though lovingly polished to a gleam and clearly meticulously cared for, was scarred, the handle a little worn from Snart's grip. Cisco looked as if the gun had personally offended him. "What the hell is that?" "It's a cold gun," Snart said, as if explaining something to someone very slow. "That's not a cold gun, that's a cold freaking grenade launcher. What the hell did you do to it?" Snart shrugged. "I made a few adjustments." "A few adjustments? It's twice the size! How do you even walk around with that thing strapped to your leg all day?" Snart smirked, but before he could open his mouth, Cisco cut him off. "Don't answer that.

S8 AU where Ronnie shows back up early and at first everything seems okay. He's really back, Caitlin gets her third chance with Mr. Right just as Frost is getting her feet wet in the dating world with Mark Blaine, and while it seems at first that Ronnie's arrival is a bit coincidental with some unusual deaths... Eobard - Matt version - is revealed and a speedster has been going around stealing stuff.
The speedster thief turns out to be Meena Dhawan and Eobard is the amnesiac, non-speedster good version of himself who is in a situationship/QPR type thing with her and is trying to fix what went wrong with the experiment that gave her speed. Team Flash helps save the day, Eobard is reluctantly cleared as not-evil and Barry manages to begrudgingly work very well with Eobard. But someone is still killing in the background and no one has figured out who it is yet.
Very sus, who is the imposter?
Now Frost was initially happy for Caitlin, but she's been getting some weird, possessive vibes from Ronnie and it's probably been revealed to the audience at this point that Ronnie's the real killer. Dun dun duuuun.
Turns out Ronnie is actually Deathstorm and he's been building an emotional connection to Caitlin so that the can drop her into the deepest despair and convert her into a being like him (that's what he was planning to do in canon, yes?) but Caitlin's love for her sister and Frost's love for her manages to break that connection, sending what has been reveal to be fake-Ronnie into a tailspin of evil, attempting to overwhelm Caitlin with despair that not even Frost can pull her out of.
In order to weaken Frost... he kills Mark. (The audience cheers.) Things have been rocky for Frost and Mark all season, good one minute and the next Mark screws up or Frost is struggling to understand what her attraction to him even is. Frost had actually been planning on breaking up with him, making her feel all the more guilty about his death being caused specifically to hurt her. But she refuses to give up on Caity.
Meanwhile Team Flash + Eobard and Meena manage to pull together a Hell Frost gun or bazooka or whatever sounds simultaneously the coolest and cheesiest. Deathstorm is defeated and fake Ronnie dissipates, still professing his love for Caitlin who is... visibly disturbed by the whole thing. He wasn't Ronnie... but he thought he was.
The Negative Speed Force attempts to make it's play while everyone is reeling from the Deathstorm thing, but both Iris and good!Eobard are placed in the time stone with Damian when the NSF uses them to revive EoWells as it's avatar. Barry is emotionally compromised thinking that he's killed Iris, EoWells is winning the fight... meanwhile Eobard and Iris have some kind of adventure within the Time Stone to assure they can return to reality, but Eobard realizes only one of them can return. Thankfully it only takes one of them being alive again to destabilize and thus re-erase EoWells and being a heroic version of himself, Eobard makes sure Iris is the one to go home. She's genuinely upset to have left him behind, but as EoWells melts like the Wicked Witch of the West... Eobard winds up being restored too - heavily implied that Speed Force!Nora is somehow involved via Meena.
Eobard suggests to Meena that Central City kinda sucks and maybe they could move their science headquarters elsewhere and she agrees. She mentions her ex-girlfriend in Coast City wanting to try again with her and how she's got a hot guy-friend there who'd totally be into Eobard...
Meanwhile, Caitlin and Frost decide to go tour Europe. Starting in the UK because they can visit Julian first. S9 starts with the reveal that Frost met Lisa Snart during the summer of shenanigans in Europe and has determined that she's actually a lesbian. Frost and Lisa are dating now, much to Caitlin's reluctant amusement. (Frost has a type.) Caitlin herself is just glad to be home, greeting Iris and Barry with big hugs at the luggage pickup after the time loop is over and the plane she, Frost, and Lisa are on finally lands.
Thus this also gives us an S9 with Hartley and Lisa as besties and rogues antics.
