Airheads: What was your first interaction with your f/o like? Did you always like each other?

Pat and I hit it off instantly; the first night we met, we stayed up past midnight talking and getting to know each other. It is strange to explain it this way, but I felt like I had always known him. Patrick is like the second half of my soul that I hadn’t known I wish missing until I met him. We’ve been nearly inseparable since that night, save a few times that we’ve needed our necessary time apart. This is extremely silly, but I take personal interest in astrology, specifically zodiac signs, etc., and at least in my opinion, Patrick and I share a deep bond partially because of our specific signs. I won’t go into that in further detail, since saying it aloud seems rather silly, but I do not care because I think it is interesting. 

J and I have known each other a long time; we have a complicated sort of history. He and I could not be together for quite some time, though we have always been aware of each other. I cannot say I had any feelings for him at first, romantic or otherwise. I developed feelings for and an attachment to him late 2019 and since then we’ve been nearly as inseparable as Pat and I. The bond I share with J took time and a lot of cultivation; had I met Pat at the same time as I met J, I don’t think we would have been as close. J needed time to bond one on one with me; his connection with Pat took much, much longer than ours did because J is not open with his affections like Pat and I. It is easiest for him to grow accustomed to another person if he has their sole focus; he does not like to split his attention when his walls are down. Fortunately, we are all very well acquainted now and there is not anything that could really come between us. 

Jelly Bean: What’s a quirk/little detail about your fave that you think is cute?

I love when Patrick wears his hair in a tiny ponytail or bun; it’s absolutely adorable and he doesn’t do it very often so it is even more of a treat whenever he does. I love that he gets so engrossed in his work that he appears to not be listening, but that I could stop talking and quiz him about what I’ve just said and he will have heard every word and committed it to memory. I love that he will write me little notes about trivial stuff and leave them around the house for me to find (if he goes to the store, I might find a little post-it note attached to the refrigerator with his sloppy scribbles ‘bought groceries, you’re welcome -P’.) I love the way his big, watery eyes get a little wider whenever he’s confused/unsure/etc. I love the way his tongue tucks into the inside corner of his mouth whenever he smiles and shakes his head knowingly. I love that he will occasionally headbutt me gently like an affectionate cat while we cuddle. I love his big nose and how he lets me kiss it all the time. I love how his brows knit together in his sleep as he struggles to find a comfortable position or until he has the blankets adequately covering his body. I love the way he inhales while we kiss and I can hear the sound his intake of breath makes through his nose. (I could keep going, but I think that is enough for now.)

I love how J always shoves me onto the side of the bed with Pat while we sleep so that he can watch over us and keep us safe and protected. I love the way J’s hand fits in perfectly against the back of my knee as he holds my body tightly to his each night. I love how his strides are so wide that I feel like I’m lunging to keep up with him when I deliberately try to. I love how he rests his chin on the top of my head while I sit on his lap watching television. I love the way that he folds his clothes and hangs up his shirt and trousers each night to avoid getting creases in the materials. I love the way he always coaxes me into lying down on top of him and napping whenever he can tell my eyelids are drooping from exhaustion. I love that he uses his intrigue at ‘bending the law’ to help Pat or I and to keep us safe, healthy, cared for, etc. I love that J is a man of action, instead of just telling me the things I want to hear. I love J’s callused hands that are so similar to Pat’s, yet within the same breath are uniquely his own. I love J’s large feet and that he will deliberately make fun of them to make me feel a little less insecure about mine (long story, not gonna explain that one.) I love how J’s tongue always prods the scar tissue on the inside of his cheeks when he’s concentrating.
