So I've kinda been exploring a plot idea I have for a WK comic/fanfiction/AU??? (Not really sure what to call it) Except all the canonical villains aren't competent enough to actually pull it off so I made a villain OC... Anyways I guess you could consider this concept art as I think about it some more :]

DA: Veilguard (MAJOR SPOILERS)

Just realized something now that I'm on my second run of the game...

When Rook and Solas meet in the Fade prison after the ritual is stopped, Rook brings up Varric- and Solas has an immediate reaction to it that I didn't look much further into my first time playing.

Rook then goes on to say that Varric was "hurt".

I really have to give credit to the VA, writing, and animation of this scene. Solas interjects quickly; "Varric is-". You can hear his sorrow, regret, and frustration for killing Varric for just a moment. His body language is quite honest in this scene. Very flustered, just as panicked as Rook. For just a moment, he's Solas. He's sensitive, wounded, and exposed.

Then, in such a short span of time- only taking a second or two to realize that Rook doesn't know he killed Varric- Solas trails off. He looks to the side in thought. You can literally SEE the gears in his head moving.

His expression almost relaxes- it hardens. You can see the tension in his shoulders loosen just a bit. It's like we see his mask that is the Dread Wolf return. He has an opportunity here, and he intends on acting on it no matter what.

He focuses, he stares at Rook, and his tone becomes much more even. He seems less panicked than he did before. The animation here is just absolutely beautiful to me. Once you know what Solas truly does to Rook, you can see it in his eyes. That sharpness and cunning that the Dread Wolf possesses comes through in this moment. It's super fucking cool to actually see Solas conjuring his tricks in real time.

That is the face of a mf who knows what he has to do. I interpret this expression as one that starts to see Rook as just that; a rook on his board of chess against Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain rather than the gigantic thorn in his side he originally thought of them as. He comes to terms with the fact that he'll use blood magic in a matter of seconds. You can see that he knows he'll regret it, but (as always) his drive to finish what he started outweighs anything else in the end. It's all so damn subtle and it speaks to Solas' character on so many levels it makes me want to throw him off a cliff and give him a gold star at the same time.

So I've been trying "What in Hell is Bad" for a while to get a feel for MC and omg first off: This MC failed NNN 100%. Someone get them water because their throat is as dry as a dusty brick.

Anyways... Aside from that I'm shocked how much I enjoy the game- Smut aside the materials and gameplay is really fun- It's so relieving to play a game that doesn't revolve around one source of currency to do anything (*cough* *cough* Devil Points in Obey Me *cough*) and I think it's been a while since I had fun playing a Gacha Game lol

Nightbringer felt like a chore. This game feels like a fun time~

( That's not to say gathering rare materials is horrifically hard but I have fun because there's so many ways to get the materials and it's fun )

Omoriposting in the year of our lord 2024 but I'm watching a video on it and first of all half of the video length's is about the incredibly long delay(s) and how upset the original kickstart backers were, which is something important to mention since it was a shitty move on Omocat's behalf to keep the backers out of what was going on behind the scenes and not replying to them when they demanded updates and refunds, but is that really worth 20 minutes? This person said everything that there was to say about this topic in like 10, the remaining time was just repeating the same thing over and over again. Genuinely a waste of time to make this video 40 minutes long and dedicate half of it to something that honestly doesn't even have anything to do with the game itself? Again not excusing Omocat's actions, but this youtuber wasn't even one of the backers and paying so much attention to this issue takes away time from talking about the actual game.

But my second and bigger complaint is the youtuber's criticism about the Headspace sections, arguing that they are filler content and not as interesting as what happens in the real world. And while I agree with the second part, and I can see some people feeling like the Headspace drags on for too long, labeling these chapters of the game as "filler" demonstrates that this person didn't understand their purpose. Yes it's devoided almost completely of any story content, because it's the place where Sunny runs away from real life, it's his form of escapism. In fact, in the very first Headspace episode AND prologue of the game, the section ends the moment a memory from real life leaks into his idyllic dream - when Basil finds the photo of Mari. And this happens every single time Sunny hides in Headscape: as much as he wants to bury his past and his trauma, he can't keep it underground forever as it eventually resurfaces again and again.

Not to mention that the Headspace sections reinforce the game's horror sequences and moments, because the colorful scenery and overwhelming, child-like positivity make you forget you are playing a psychological horror. By the third Headspace section you probably have already figured out it's going to end with something scary, but the first two times it catches you by surprise. The contrast is what makes it so unexpected and so successful.

And Headspace provides *a lot* of context about the most important piece of the game: the protagonist. Discovering how Mari's death affected everyone makes the story more poignant, especially given the gigantic feeling of guilt Sunny carries in his heart, but ultimately the thing that brings forward the real tragedy of the story is how affected Sunny. How he completely isolated himself and pushed everyone away, while dealing with a major trauma all alone. How he ended up forgetting everything that had happened in an attempt to protect himself from depressive and suicidal thoughts. How he got himself trapped in this loop of never wanting to face and overcome his trauma and thus being unable to progress for four long years. How close they all used to be until this event broke all of them in different but equally sad ways, hitting Sunny the hardest as he is what caused the rupture between them.

All of this is shown in Headspace. Through Basil's disappearance, which kickstarts the happy-go-lucky adventures that Sunny and his friends - permanently stuck in their childhood years - go through in each section. Through the conversations with Daddy Longlegs in Lost Forest that provide important context about how Sunny dealt with the trauma and how Headspace came to be. Through his friends slowly forgetting about Basil, a consequence of Sunny attempting once more to destroy any evidence of what happened in his perfect world. Through the flowers Basil plants in his garden, a representation of each member of the group. Through the life excerpts you read in the library. Through the encounters with Branch Coral, Abbi and the Stranger. Through the hangman game. Hell, even through small, almost imperceptible details on your first run, like a jump rope and a text saying "you did it", or a tree stump with Something on it.

Also for the love of god people need to stop looking for "plot holes" everywhere and realize that sometimes things just happen. Obviously massive kudos to people capable of building perfect crime scenes where everything is controlled to a T, and it's true Mari's death has some loose ends that could have been tied better. But when your obsession with plot holes has you asking for an explanation as to why two kids would be hanging out together in a house other than "because that's what kids who are friends do sometimes" you really need to stop and go back a couple of steps.

The youtuber wonders if the parents didn't know about the "fake suicide" while also showing the scene in Black Space where Sunny's dad cuts down the tree, and I'm almost certain at some point it's revealed Sunny's parents discovered what he and Basil did, probably because of the autopsy. And this (person whose gender I don't know) is dedicating the video's conclusion to saying "well how come his parents didn't realize Mari died of a fall??? clearly there are a gazillion ways in which they could have found out about the fake suicide (even though Sunny's parents found out about the suicide, not just in a direct, explicit way which is what you're supposed to do to create good storytelling). huh I guess this is a plot hole". The youtuber even went and found examples of real-life kids committing murders far more intricate than what happens in Omori but his parents not immediately realizing Mari's suicide was fishy is a plot hole?? I'm 💣🧨💣🧨💣🧨

And how is all of this super improbable - Basil being present during the death and his parents not noticing she didn't kill herself for days/weeks - but not Mari's cause of death which has a very tiny chance of happening. Like I'm pretty sure the percentage of people who die from falling down the stairs is below 1%. And that's the goddamn point!!!!!!! That's the horror of the story!!!!!!!!!! Killing someone you so dearly love in an accident!!!!!!!!!! That if Sunny hadn't pushed her she wouldn't have fallen down!!!!!!!!!!!! That Sunny never meant to kill her and now that will haunt him forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That no matter how much he wants to be forgiven that will never happen because you can't bring people from the dead and thus his only way to improve is to forgive himself first and learn to live with the guilt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do people never get the most important part of the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is so interesting that The War Doctor (8.5) separates himself SO much from The Doctor just because he realizes he is losing his honor and dignity in the Time War. He doesn’t want people to associate the atrocities with The Doctor because he knows The Doctor is good and he is not.

Of course in doing so, he doesn’t recognize that he is in fact, The Doctor too. Probably why it was easier for him to choose war and sacrifice despite seeing his future versions destroyed emotionally by the genocide and what continues to come after the fact.

it was honestly so much better than i thought it would be. it’s a lot of work, and i won’t downplay that. just constant reading and studying, often at the expense of sleep and rest. but it absolutely flew by. i got my final grades back this past week and it really sunk in that i did it. it definitely took the first semester to settle into the groove of it, and a lot of overthinking that i was making a terrible mistake. but if you’re willing to put in the work and can find a solid way to cope with the stress then it is absolutely worth it. people talk smack about lawyers but it is super rewarding knowing that we can help people in some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

RIN falters a bit at the sudden smooch and then you running away. long he welcomed the affection and you running away from him confuses him a bit and so he follows you and returns the favor by doing the same after ensuring that everything was okay and finding that it was your only way to just caught him off guard.

SAE sees it coming and only moves his head to angle where you will be kissing him. you were surprised than he is and kisses you twice the passion and breaks the kiss softly just to admire your flustered expression or rather the satisfaction he was feeling that he had beaten you in your own game.

SHIDOU breaks out into a large grin after the kiss you did and he's sprinting to your direction where you ran off and freaky he is, you didn't just get a kiss from him. saying that you need to take it. his payback for riling him up.

NAGI only let a soft hum when you kissed him out of the blue. leaving him blinking in confusion and shrugs at what just happened. cold mf.

REO smiles. a smile that a prince does. charming and can attract a swarm of women in the area but it's from the kiss his princess did to him and he's following you and spinning you in a manner that leaves you breathless. your back pressed against his chest while bestowing a chaste kiss to your round cheeks.

NIKO blushes. it's not visible as he stand there from the gesture. a shy little schoolboy is what you've turned him and only if you knew what he was feeling. falling in love with you deeper like the main character in a shoujo manga.

OLIVER wolfishly grins. licking his lips and he's like a predator prepared to pounce at their prey and he sees a chubby bunny hopping away and the chase begins. he caught you and he simply devours you.

KAISER just chuckles at your attempt in surprising him. he's not surprised like almost men at his age but he appreciates it a bit. your antics no stranger to him and he finds it amusing.

NESS stutters a bit of what just happened. shock and leaning on the side of surprised and like magic you never failed to make him happy.

NOEL is calm and unblinking yet a little taken aback of your sudden departure. weren't you supposed to tell him you love him like you always do. maybe it's different than this time. it doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate it.

EGO's unfazed about it. he knows you and you always pull your stupid shenanigans on him and who is he to judge for that. you're his wife and it won't hurt to be kissed out of blue even he knows it.
