i hate how every "meaningful friendship" i have has to either be familial or romantic for people to believe it's meaningful. no i do not want to kiss you and you do not give me romantic butterflies. no you are not my sibling cuz the way i was raised with my siblings is nothing i can build with anyone else. my romantic and familial relationships are so unique that nothing can compare to them. but like. so are my friendships. my friendships are so unique that i cannot consider any partner or either of my siblings a best friend. you're a third thing that i love just as equally and just as uniquely and i don't want to have to call you a partner or a sibling for that to be taken seriously. i still love and adore you and you still mean the world to me even if you don't fit those two boxes. why do you have to fit those two boxes.
