You don’t have to necessarily be the best at what you do—there’s always someone better. Instead, be the only one who does what you do.

Family Switch (PG): Bland Freaky Christmas Mash-up Feels Pointless.
#onemannsmovies #filmreview of "Family Switch" on #netflix. #FamilySwitch. Bland, warmed over 'Freaky Christmas' with few smiles. 2.5/5.
A One Mann’s Movies review of “Family Switch” (2023). Sigh…. While Disney’s “Freaky Friday” (with Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster) in 1976 was fresh and original, this is a genre that has really been done to death. “Family Switch” has some moments of good humour, but overall feels like a lazy retelling of the same old schtick. This happens to be my immediate reaction every time someone or something truly gets me, I think, 'Oh, this new book/new friend/new sweater will alter the course of my life in a profound way.'

[ID
When I am feeling dreary, annoyed, and generally unimpressed by life, I imagine what it would be like to come back to this world for just a day after having been dead. I imagine how sentimental I would feel about the very things I once found stupid, hateful, or mundane. Oh, there's a light switch! I haven't seen a light switch in so long! I didn't realize how much I missed light switches! Oh! Oh! And look-the stairs up to our front porch are still completely cracked! Hello, cracks! Let me get a good look at you. And there's my neighbor, standing there, fantastically alive, just the same, still punctuating her sentences with you know what I'm saying? Why did that used to bother me? It's so… endearing.
End ID]
i like to pretend i already died and asked god to send me back to earth so i can swim in lakes again and see mountains and get my heart broken and love my friends and cry so hard in the bathroom and go grocery shopping 1,000 more times. and that i promised i would never forget the miracle of being here

I feel this so deeply inside of me. It shifted something ineffable that I didn't know was out of place. But now fits just right.
