Ohhh my god I've rewatched Amphibia (not entirely; I was just rewatching True Colours 'cause I felt kind of bad and Amphibia was the fandom I chose to watch while I process those feelings which devolved into Reunion which devolved into The Beginning of the End and All In and The Hardest Thing)

I forgot why I called this my favourite show but I REMEMBER NOW.

hey guys. i’m back. and i’m a changed man. i will never be the same again. words cannot describe how amazing those episodes were to me. the symbolism. the tragedy. the pain. but most importantly, the hope. the hope that people can grow and change and love.

i knew they’d end episode three with some sort of cliffhanger, but jesus christ this was so much better then i could’ve ever imagined.

Femslash Friday

Prompt: @femslash-friday-prompts‘s September 24th, 2021 picture prompt of an eye

Fandom/Ship: Hanna-Barbera (Clue Club/The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan crossover); Dottie/Anne

A new edit set to hopefully get back into the groove of Femslash Friday. Dottie is out walking the dogs when she happens to run into Anne, and after a brief chat, quickly develops a crush on her.

The lyrics used here ("You passed me by one sunny day/Flashed those big brown eyes my way/And ooh I wanted you forever more") are from the song "Hello Mary Lou"; it was that middle line in particular that reminded me of the eye picture prompt. Due to the nature of the song I ended up going for a crush/hypothetical relationship instead of an established one, and I think I captured that well in the edits.

Thing is, I’m good with the change in breeding rate during a Pass. It makes sense during the period where the death rain is falling from the sky species would switch over into ‘make as many babies as you can because holy shit are we gonna experience some fucking loses’ mode. When everybody is getting eaten by Thread, or eating each other because they can’t get food because Thread, or getting eaten by fish more often because those fuckers are getting massive on a diet of Thread and, living longer matters less than making more babies. Then the Interval comes back around and you can put your focus back onto long-term quantity rather than short-term because you have the time.

What makes no sense is that these changes supposedly start before the change in weather, so to speak. Kicking up as the Interval draws to a close? No. Slowing down as the Pass draws to a close? No. That should not be the case. It should be the other way around, with the change triggered by the presence, or lack thereof, of Thread.

It’s not like changes in breeding dependent on environmental circumstances aren’t a thing (see the multiple species of ladybug that produce daughters throughout the warm months only to start making a mix when the weather turns, and then lay hardier eggs at the end of the year that can withstand the winter) but they need to actually be triggered by the environment, not just, happen preemptively.
