Okay so been rewatching dhmis again as I should be in my free time.

And I think red guy represents yellow guys shy older brother before the house/car thing happened. This one is just a hunch based off of the end of episode 3 where red calls yellow "brother" And just his general vibes.

Also, red guy being the oldest child in an abusive household makes sense to me. Red guy sees what's happening with the family dynamic turning them against each other while also forcing them together I. Repeating conflicts with no escape is kind of relatable with that. Maybe I'm just pprojecting.

Makes Lesley's line about them always returning back home in the end very extra fucked up.

Roy is the abusive father clearly. And Lesley is the micromanaging mom. I don't know if she is also abusive or just enables Roy but she's definitely complacent. The doll house thing, the deciding what they learn and how they act, the whole making the family into a production funded by asshole Roy is something a mom in denial of how awful her life is would do.

Not that I've seen it in action.

Duck is definitely the dog mashed together with an older relative probably a grandfather. In the second episode the lamp mentions how sometimes people believe that people get reincarnated as their favorite animal, the grandfather could have loved the family pet a lot. I am hypothesizing the existence of a grandfather due to all the references to a military past for duck and how he's always in a rocking chair. We also always see duck as the one who is constantly being replaced which is common for pets especially for the ones of small children.

Yellow guy being a representation for Lesley's dead son is the one that makes the most sense to me based off the evidence. If you have a better theory please present evidence and talk me up.

I noticed that the agreed upon symbols that are the characters each have a stylized drawing of each of them included in the squiggles and I think that's pretty cool.

Red guy is yellow guys brother is probably adopted.

Roy is probably neglectful if not abusive and I think he was taking care of duck as a pet when he died of dehydration/"forgetting" to drink water. Grolton kinda looks like roy and grolton refused to give hovris any water in episode 4 when he needs to get to his dental appointment for his gum disease, which we also see Roy in disguise with absolutely terrible gums.

I need to go through everything grolton and hovris appearance to figure out any possible theory clues.

If it's not clear I'm dumping things here

I don't know if I put this idea on tumblr but Lesley was probably drunk when she ran over her son. Actually I think I did put it here. Anyway I think she probably started drinking because of either grief of grandpa dying, grief from her first son drowning, or just self medicating from Roy's bull shit.

Maybe red guy is an uncle.

I stopped watching the episodes and started watching bo Burnham and the theories are fading.

Hi! I was wondering if you have any suggestions on the best way to get a hermitcraft crash course? I’d like to watch some of their POVs this MCC too so I can round out my participant knowledge some more, but I would like to get to know the hermits as much as I can before then if possible! Are there good compilations, big events with a lot of them in it, classic videos that everyone should see, etc, or is it best to just watch a recent video or two from season 9 for everyone? I’ve been meaning to get into hermitcraft for a while now because I know I’ll really enjoy it, but I unfortunately just haven’t had enough free time recently to properly get into it. Thank you for your help!

hi! so, generally, "watch a recent season 9 video" is a great option. my other long-standing general suggestion is to watch the hermitcraft recap! i just linked this season's playlist! it's a great way to get a sense of what's going on with the hermits in a given season, and is absolutely the fastest way to "catch up" if that's something you're interested in! episodes are normally between fifteen and twenty-five minutes long and tell you everything the hermits have done on a given week! it's also the best way to choose the specific hermits you want to watch most, since it gives you a very good idea of the kinds of projects those hermits tend to work on! go forth. watch the recap.

my other immediate advice is: don't watch everyone, and start with this season. like, watch old seasons! they're good! but they aren't requirements. you will not need them to understand what is going on. and watching everyone? there are too many people. don't do that. pick your favorites and stick with them. most people have a few Guys who are their Hermitcraft Guys (mine, for example, is Joe Hills), and will consistently watch them, and will decide whether they watch other people based on how much time they have and their interest! you'll be fine if you just like... watch the few that interest you most, and if you need to know what's going on everywhere, watch the recap.

given that you're interested in learning specifically about the hermits participating in mcc, i can also go ahead and recommend a thing or two for said mcc hermits. (not all of these guys are in this mcc, but these are the typical hermit competitors.) these aren't like... essential videos? but they're my recommendations of "good things to watch from these guys if you want to get to know them", you know? (under the cut because this got long.)

grian: two recommendations for him. my first is a bit self-indulgent, but: watch third life. technically this applies here for like, three of these guys, and it's not hermitcraft, but it's one of my favorite things grian has ever, ever done and it's only eight episodes (about four hours worth of watching total) and it will rewire your brain and you will never stop thinking about it. watch third life.

anyway if you want another episode that i think encapsulates a lot of grian's general vibes this one from season 8 is very fun. (there's also moon big plot stuff going on in the background but like, you can ignore that, grian being an idiot is the important part.)

scar: in scar's case... third life or 100 hours are still great options but i already recommended third life. here's episode one from hermitcraft 9. it gives you a very good sense of the sorts of things scar tends to get up to on hermitcraft. alternately let me toss you his season 7 finale because season 7 is when i started watching him and i am very fond of a lot of the things he did then.

cubfan: the episode from this season that gets across best what kind of person cubfan is is absolutely the one where he, joe, and scar inexplicably decide to break into keralis's (minecraft) house and throw a party without asking. so like. go watch that one. alternately, go watch the moon mcgee episode from the season 8 big moon plotline. because its hysterical and i'll never be over it.

pearl: the introduction to pearl for hermitcraft fans included her arbitrarily deciding to rotate her entire base by 90 degrees because she decided it didn't look good and that's SO memorable that i'm linking that episode here. alternately, it is incredibly important to know and understand that pearl is skrunkly. she is so skrunkly. go watch this episode from this season, in which she just gets increasingly... skrunkly. it's fantastic.

gem: surprise i'm linking a not hermitcraft thing again! gem's recent skyblock oneblock hardcore series is just personally a favorite of mine so i'm going to push people to go watch that. as for more recent gem episodes that i think get across her vibe pretty good, here's the episode where she drained an ocean monument!

false: false, i will admit, is the hermitcraft mcc participant that i know the least well, so my recommendations here will probably the least good. i remember really liking this one in season 7 where she added striders to her base to be aliens when i watched it. and her bird is still one of the best things in season 9's spawn so here, her first episode of season 9.

and actually, while we're here, since you're specifically an mcc fan... blue bats blue bats blue bats blue bats

ren: watch stargazer. watch stargazer. watch stargazer. it's his season 7 finale and it's an entire movie and it's great. gives you an overview of his style, of what he'd done all season, and is just super well-produced. go watch it. go. otherwise i'm going to recommend this season 8 episode because it's just one of my favorite things ren and doc did that season.

...and actually, while i'm here... watch third life. renchanting pov instead of desert duo this time. once again. holy shit you won't regret it.

It is 4 AM, and I have a zoom meeting at 9, and I just can't sleep. The classical music, lo-fi music, PODCASTS, TEA, some waves crashing into rocks sounds, ABSOLUTE SILENCE, BOOKS, or anything is making me tired. What kind of THOUGHTS is making me not sleepy! What is on my mind????

I completely forgot! The last hangouts meet we had was last week, and he decided that we dress up wacky, crazy, and just something random for the class! I didn't plan anything out! Well, tomorrow (technically today) is monday and we don't have a video chat until tuesday... so something will be planned last minute. I'm not sure how I'll dress up though. What should I do with my hair? I have purple lipstick and like red lipstick so I can probably just think of something up with that. I also have a sweater crop top in the same color as the lipstick, so I can just match that in. But the pants, shorts, skirt? Idk. I'll see what I can do. For sure jewelry, rings, bracelets, necklaces. But what should I do with the hair? I could hairspray it in a cute way. Idk, but for sure that neon purple crop top sweater and possibly that purple floral skirt I have. I can maybe put a bow in my hair too... the possibilities. I don't really have anything wacky or weird to wear. Oh since I'm wearing all purple I forgot I have these light up earrings that I can wear, and guess what color it is. Take a fucking guess.

Anyway, I just can't wait until the video meeting tuesday, I can't wait to see if he's gonna dress up weird. Also he created another video, my dad showed me and its titled "The (Home) Office: (classes inserted here)" AND WOW. Aside from only watching like 3 and a half episodes of The Office, and it wasn't on my own free time, it was at school. I can say, that they nailed it. Ugh I love it. So cliche.

HE HAS A MUG THAT SAID WORLDS BEST ART TEACHER, ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I wish I could tell you more about my TC, because he is great and funny. The amount of humor he has... I think it's new, because I haven't seen that mug at school yet. Did he buy that just for that? Did he buy it just so he can say he IS the best art teacher in our town? Of course he did.

Oh my god... just watching the one for athletic conditioning and he's doing that PARKOUR thing... I only know that from tumblr, reddit, and twitter... oh goodness. This, this man child and his wife... oh gosh. Really? Blinking with Morse code? Actually I might decode it if he actually did morse code. If its just jumbled and not even morse code, then... what a.. I can't I'm speechless.

AlSO I AM IN BIG BIG TROUBLE because I haven't been doing my assignments. I keep forgetting, I don't check my emails as often... I am.. in deep shit. And I gotta clean up my act. Well, hopefully tomorrow (today) when I clean my room, shower, debate about getting a haircut by my ma, and just have another me day, I'll get my shit all flushed down and JUST STAY AWAY FROM SUCH A BAD CYCLE. AND IF I SLEEP BEFORE 11 PM, Its over for you bitches. Ok! I am graduating! I'll be going to college! I'll be living a different life! So it is TIME to change it a lot right now.

So, enough with staying up watching hermitcraft videos, no more staying up on Instagram. Ah crap. I need to buy journals for him so I can print out the gift I'm making.... oh dear. I HAVE 10 DAYS. I probably won't get much in because THERES SO MUCH and lemme tell you... this. Is just. Too much.

( i went on insta to go screenshot my saved thingies and I was scrolling for 3 minutes before realizing what I need to do... ugh me. )

THERES 137 SAVED POSTS WITH DESCRIPTIONS ON SOME OF THEM. I'm thinking that maybe I should buy a flashdrive instead. I think that if I do, it'll be counted as inappropriate because it seems mysterious? I'll definitely show him before I give it to him, because I don't want them to take away my hard work of a simple gift. I could go the extra mile with a journal, but if I do then it'll rack up the ink on the printer at home. Maybe I'll use my siblings phone photo printer for most of them. So that way I can have a few pages of the small art photos with the descriptions. Idk, I'll have to see.
