like there really is something about the genre shift between beard after hours and the rest of the show, the way it goes from ted’s worldview to beard’s worldview …. And how it’s the ONLY episode to take beardjane seriously in any capacity. showing the texts, the interpersonal communication between them, how beard feels about her (“I am under no illusions that she could solve what ails me, but when I’m with her the world just feels…more interesting.”) like,,,,, basically ever episode, beardjane is treated like a comedic punchline. he’ll say something she did, ted makes a joke. he gets high during a match because she left drugged tea out, ted makes a joke about him drinking tea. she shreds his passport, Ted makes a lighthearted comment about how at least he has another passport. Like. Hm.

So, ive recently gotten back into Protocreed and a what if..? idea i had was:

After Abstergo recovers Desmonds body, they experiment with his DNA and Blacklight. Resulting in him being revived after an outbreak and breaking free.

It could even be the assassins fault that the outbreak happened!

In the midst of the chaos, no one noticed the body dissapearing. It's only after the outbreak was contained and culled that Subject 17 was noted as missing. With all the footage being destroyed it is impossible to tell what happened to it, but the general consensis is that one of the infected ate it. It is a crushing blow to their research, but thankfully they have plenty of samples stored in a different facility, so all hope is not lost. No one thought of the possibilty that a repeat of Alex Mercer's revival could happen. Subject 17 has been dead for months, the body is simply too old. So no one thought too look in the shadows of the city, where something lay lurking. Tracking. Hunting.

So I have a ProtoCreed idea similar to this that I posted here.

The comments/replies have more details on how it would go but, in a nutshell, Blacklight is a failed/abandoned Isu project headed by Tinia (so we can have a little hehe moment with Alex being called ‘Zeus’) and Dr Mercer is not a Templar but he’s still a piece of work.

And Desmond’s Isu to human genes ratio + his Bleeding Effect screwed up the virus that he still has the superhuman feats that Alex has but he can’t morph his body to have weapons or anything like that.

Instead…

It’s like he can spawn three specific humanoid figures made of the black and red writhing flesh which only has one specific goal: keep Desmond safe.

There’s more details in the link above but the main point is that Desmond’s virus makes him be able to ‘summon’ his ancestors who holds a piece of Alex’s OG abilities and it’s unclear if they are mindless or if their connection with Desmond keeps them docile because when Abstergo try to cut their connection (which are tendrils of red and black connecting the creatures to Desmond’s shadow), the creature goes berserk and attacks and devours everything around until Desmond reconnects with it.

So we have:

Altaïr = Blade

Ezio = Hammerfist

Ratonhnhaké:ton = Whipfist

Ezio gets Hammerfist because the sword of Altaïr is iconic so Altaïr gets the Blade and Ratonhnhaké:ton had the ropedart so he gets the Whipfist. XD

Although, in my original idea, Desmond keeps his memories (thanks to the Bleeding Effect) but if you want to go down the route of Desmond being ‘incubated’ by the virus during the story of Prototype and waking up afterwards, we can easily do that and the incubation period is actually what corrupted Desmond’s mind.

So in this situation, Desmond would be more like ‘Eve’ from Parasite Eve, the new origin of an outbreak (and everyone believes it’s Alex’s fault which will lead us to a modified setup for Prototype 2 and Alex and Desmond having an antagonistic start).

But the outbreak is strange because it seemed… targeted.

The ones to be hit first were Abstergo facilities or facilities under Abstergo’s shell companies.

And the spread only began when these facilities had fallen and the barricades have been breached, like… it wasn’t truly intentional but more of a ‘side effect’.

So now we have Alex trying to figure out what this new outbreak is because the ‘children’ for this one are faster and more cunning, using their surrounding to hide and wait. And these children seemed to be taking orders from three creatures made of darkness and blood.

(Or, if you want to preserve the Assassin white and red color scheme, it’s gonna be grosser with them being filled with pus and blood instead. The pus could be a sign that the virus is being combated by Desmond’s Isu genes though and that could be a clue for Alex)

And any time Alex tries to eat any of them, he only gains snippets of the memories of the same person: a man named Desmond Miles.

The three commander creatures also seemed to travel via shadows, being able to melt into the shadows before Alex could ever destroy them completely.

Later, he would realize that the whole city (whichever city we’re planning to set this on) are filled with what looked like lines all over (maybe one would say that maybe it’s the ley lines or something and Alex would say that it looks more like… veins…) and these veins are actually how the commanders travel all over the city.

At the center of the veins is a cocoon…

not really a fan of the way people in the mi fandom trash talk the earlier movies.. i don't even really understand why they're doing it

Not sure I understand the full context of this ask, but I’ll say it’s because the later movies are far more fondly remembered.

Kinda like a Top Gun Maverick Situation where there are a lot of newer people who care mostly for the recent content rather than the older stuff.

Not me though I clown on Mission 3 because the sound mixing is bad

I tend to prefer the last three movies more than the first four, personally. I do think the hate on mi2 is overdone both critically and on a fandom level.

Anyway I don’t have much to say other than fandom is gonna fandom and there’s always going to be stuff that we don’t like but will have to make our peace with.

Thinking about the time I had an exclusionist reblog my post to tell me that queer people are dying, and then they proceeded to yell at me for being an mspec lesbian. 💀

They were unwittingly admitting that there are more important issues than somebody's identity, while trying to invalidate my identity lmfao. I suppose they thought it was some huge ‘gotcha’ moment, cuz ooh I'm so selfish for expressing my distress toward mspec lesbians such as myself being crucified for calling themselves lesbians, while people are facing REAL issues! Give me a break.

I know queer people face acts of violence, and mspec les/gays saying ‘hey guys, we'd like to be allowed labels and spaces too’ isn't in any way invalidating that. Exclusionists need to get over themselves.

had a dream that i got an email from a “representative” claiming that alex hirsch had found my deviantart (terrifying start to a dream) and somehow decided that i should write a gravity falls sequel, but that it had to be a gravity falls/mickey mouse crossover, with everyone meeting like mickey and minnie and even goofy and max. i was under a strict NDA but they also brought some other writers on board, except i was not allowed to tell those writers what i was working on so idk how they were supposed to be helpful. i came up with some plot where the pineses met all these disney characters, although i don’t remember the details, and then had a subplot where bill and kryptos went to disneyland which i guess dream me thought would knock out some other characters that weren’t met in the a plot. then i started worrying that nobody would care about kryptos because he was basically my oc, and i tried to cut down his role in the disneyland plot but couldn’t make it work without him playing a large role, for some reason. which is weird because honestly i don’t think bill and kryptos were like doing anything particularly interesting at disney, like i think they were just going on rides or whatever?

also i had to add some old classic disney character i had never heard of who was a bird named zalco who absolutely does not exist, but the “representative” was insistent that zalco was important to the disney canon and had to be included and that i was just ignorant to his vast importance in animation history

anyway i never met hirsch and in retrospect i had very little evidence that he was actually approving or funding this so in the world of the dream i may have been scammed into writing some very specific fanfiction for someone. it didn’t matter because the “representative” decided to make sweeping changes to my script and turned it into a stage play that i then had to act in. i got the role of the cat in the hat, which was not a character in my show before this point. we had hundreds of people in the cast but somehow we were all also saddled with being stage crew and i was struggling really badly juggling so much. also the representative asked if zalco’s plotline REALLY had to be included and seemed annoyed when i said that i had only added him because she kept insisting i needed to

so anyway if anyone needs a gravity falls reboot to be written, my subconscious apparently has a lot of completely awful ideas
