I remember one time I made a post like, "It's weird that I've never seen anyone be weird about the Scarecrow. I mean not saying I am but he seems like total bait for people who are into that kind of thing, not me though. I am normal. I wouldnt just... be weird about a character no one else is being weird about. That would be weird." And someone helpfully responded that Scarecrow fans are rarer on tumblr but they're there and pointed me in the direction, and now, years later, with a false sense of security created by slightly shifting my fandom echo chamber, I come online every day like, "Hello my fellow Halloween goths who've had their lifelong mental health issues so invalidated for so long that some weird old man standing over them like, 'Oh yes, what you're going through right now is torture,' and taking little notes on the root cause of your problem he just found out right now sounds oddly comforting."
