I hate to continue to be a killjoy, but I still see people celebrating that Arkansans will get to vote for abortion rights this fall.
We won’t.
Why?
Because last week the State Supreme Court ruled Thurston was correct in rejecting the petition on a technicality.
Despite making similar errors, the other petitions for medical marijuana and casinos are, of course, going ahead as planned.
With no national support or attention, Arkansas women (and a few good men) did what everyone said couldn’t be done. On July 5, organizers turned in enough signatures to qualify an amendment to restore access to abortion in Arkansas.  The amendment will restore access up to 18 weeks for any reason and thereafter has exceptions for rape, incest, fatal fetal anomaly, and life and health of the mother.  The amendment had no support from national groups like Planned Parenthood or the ACLU because it didn’t allow for abortions up to the point of viability.  However, polling showed that anything over 18 weeks simply wouldn’t pass in deep red Arkansas, and the amendment will cover 99% of abortions that do occur.
Abortion rights will be on the ballot in Arkansas, thanks to a 100% unfunded volunteer effort! Amazingly good news.

a genuine fairy tale atmosphere thats so hard to attain

its just really good, a certain sense of enchantment around the setting and language

Abortion rights defenders in Arkansas said Thursday it was "a dark day" after the state's Supreme Court ruled a ballot measure that would enshrine stronger reproductive rights protections for people in the state was ineligible for November election ballots.
The court ruled 4-3 in favor of arguments presented by Republican officials including Secretary of State John Thurston and Attorney General Tim Griffin, who said organizers with Arkansans for Limited Government (AFLG)—which submitted more than 101,000 signatures to secure the amendment for the ballot—had failed to correctly submit paperwork verifying that paid canvassers had been properly trained.
AFLG strategy director Rebecca Bobrow expressed agreement with Justice Karen Baker's dissent, which accused Thurston of making up statutory requirements "out of whole cloth" and of being "determined to keep this particular vote from the people" at all costs.

hah fuck me nevermind.
In a letter, the secretary of state, John Thurston, said he would reject the canvassers’ attempt to appear on the November ballot because they failed to submit sworn statements by paid canvassers. “You did not submit any statements meeting this requirement,” Thurston said in a letter on Wednesday. “By contrast, other sponsors of initiative petitions complied with this requirement. Therefore, I must reject your submission.” Thurston said that even if he had not rejected the ballot measure for lack of sworn statements by paid canvassers, he would have rejected the signatures they collected. Of the 101,525 signatures submitted, 14,143 were collected by paid canvassers. Excluding them left campaigners 3,322 signatures short of what is required to appear on the fall ballot.
Arkansans for Limited Government (AFLG), reproductive rights canvassers in the state, called the disqualification “ridiculous”, said they worked with the secretary’s office at “multiple junctures” and called the sworn statement requirement an “unfounded legal interpretation”. “More than 101,000 Arkansans participated in this heroic act of direct democracy and stood up to proclaim their support for access to healthcare,” said AFLG. “They deserve better than a state government that seeks to silence them. “We will fight this ridiculous disqualification attempt with everything we have. We will not back down.”
It does seem that AFLG will challenge this. I will post updates as they become known.

Have a Kevin of the Day - Day One
- The Day Kevin became a morning person
Day 1
Kandreil Verse
Tumblr media
Neil wakes up when he hears Andrew growling next to him. He inhales more deeply and stifles a yawn, eyes cracking open. He is greeted by Andrew’s face, half buried in his pillow in an attempt to block out some of the light and noise. The goalkeeper has been woken up by the noise coming from their kitchen –most likely Kevin, since his place on the kingsized bed is empty. The bedroom door is closed, but Andrew is still a light sleeper, even when it’s only the three of them in their apartment. He can’t help it, and Andrew waking up early usually wakes up Neil, since he is sleeping in the middle of the other two men. He has to; Andrew is always sleeping with his back to the wall and he doesn’t appreciate it when Kevin plays octopus-wants-to-cuddle in his sleep. They use Neil as their buffer zone –he doesn’t mind. He doesn’t move much in his sleep, never has, unless he has to deal with one of his nightmares, and by now Kevin’s strong arms and never-ending legs taking hold of him won’t wake him up all the way anymore.
Neil rubs his eyes and watches Andrew. The blonde is awake but keeps his eyes shut in an useless attempt to go back to sleep. He is lying on his stomach, one arm hugging his pillow, and Neil takes a moment to appreciate the sight of his boyfriend’s bare back, the lean muscles with their hills and valleys under pale skin, leading all the way down to his lower back, where their navy blue sheets have ended up sometime during the night. Neil will never grow tired of waking up to Andrew lying next to him. “Stop staring,” the shorter man grumbles into his pillow. He doesn’t even look at Neil. He just knows.
Neil smiles and stretches a little. The weather is nice outside. He will definitely go for a run this morning. Maybe Kevin will join him –Andrew probably won’t. “Since when is he a morning person anyway?” More grumbling.
“What did you expect? Only because we can’t use the stadium at night anymore doesn’t mean Kevin will cut back on practice. He runs like clockwork.” Usually it’s been Neil who gets up first in the morning, trying to sneak out for an early run. He’d always manage to wake up Andrew unintentionally, but Kevin would sleep right through it, still tired from their nightly practice sessions. Seems like those extra hours of sleep have turned the striker into an early riser.
They both get up and dressed; Neil in his running clothes and Andrew in loose pants and a long-sleeved shirt. They find Kevin in the kitchen, sizzling pan in front of him, coffee machine noisily grinding beans at his side. It smells like pancakes and coffee, and Andrew shuffles closer to the coffee machine, eyes on Kevin. He is a sight for sore eyes. All Kevin had snuck out in this morning are his grey sweatpants that always sit dangerously low on his narrow hips. His bare back is turned, but he notices them.
“Morning,” he greets without turning around.
“Morning,” Neil replies and comes closer to run his hand down Kevin’s back, fingers following his spine down to his ass where they linger while he leans forward to have a look at their breakfast. Kevin is a great cook, which makes him waking up early even better.
“Can you get me the plates?” Kevin leans down and kisses him on his temple.
“Sure.”
Andrew gets himself his first mug of coffee, still a bit tired but waking up now. “Give me one too?” Kevin asks him, so Andrew hands him the second one and puts the third onto the table for Neil. The backliner takes a sip, looking out the window, planning his route for his morning run. He can get used to this, he thinks. Looking over at Andrew watching Kevin making breakfast only halfway dressed tells him he could too. It’s nice having them all up and together first thing in the morning.
“Wake up,” Kevin tells Andrew and runs a hand through the blonde’s bedhead hair. The goalkeeper looks up at him, and Neil enjoys the sight of those two like this. He knows Andrew enjoys occasional gestures like this and Kevin can usually tell when he can get away with them and when to give Andrew some space. Kevin, he knows, can be sensible when he wants to.
“Dibs on the shower,” Andrew says and takes another sip of coffee.
“I’ll join you,” Kevin replies and Andrew doesn’t tell him no. Instead he lets his eyes wander over Kevin’s body again. What follows is a moment of comfortable silence, until both men turn their heads towards Neil, looking at him expectantly. The young backliner blinks but understands the invitation soon enough.
“Guess I’ll go for a run in the evening then,” he says and they all sit down for breakfast.
                                                                                                                  Day 2>>

Hubble's latest image release is so beautiful, it should be illegal
Tumblr media
The latest image released from the Hubble Space Telescope really is just beyond the pale.
Just look at it. The sheer audacity. The absolute cheek of it.
Here you were, just minding your own mundane business, and then Hubble had to come along and remind you that our Universe is jaw-droppingly, mind-blowingly, sickeningly gorgeous.
What you’re looking at is a nebula around 4,900 light-years away in the constellation of Gemini. It’s named AFGL 5180, and it’s part of a vast molecular cloud complex named Gem OB1.
Such thick molecular clouds are where stars are born, and AFLG 5180 is no exception. It’s spectacularly lit from within by a very young, hot star that’s violently disturbing the space around it as it grows, carving out vast cavities in the gas cloud.
To make a baby star, you need to start with a dense clump in a cloud of cool molecular gas. If this clump collapses under its own gravity, it will start to form a star. As that protostar starts to spin, the material in the cloud around it forms a disk, spooling into the growing star, inexorably drawn in by its strengthening gravitational pull.

If you take a close look, you can see two beams emanating from behind a fold in the cloud, towards the top right and bottom left of the image. These are one way we know the star is growing. As material is drawn in towards the star, it starts to interact with the complex magnetic field, producing powerful plasma jets that shoot along the rotational axis.
These jets only last as long as material is falling onto the star, so once the star stops growing, the jets will die down.
In fact, jets are one of the mechanisms that prevent the star from growing ridiculously large: they push away material close to the star, taking it out of reach of the gravitational pull. Stellar winds, once thermonuclear fusion has ignited in the star’s core, also push material away.
What’s left of the disk, once the star is done growing, will clump together to form planets and asteroids and other planetary system objects.
We look at clouds like AFLG 5180 to learn more about these processes, but it can be a bit tricky. The dusty clouds are really thick, which makes it difficult to see what’s happening inside.
That’s where instruments like Hubble come in handy: in addition to visible light, the Wide Field Camera 3 can see in infrared, which penetrates the dust, revealing the sparkling treasure of young stars inside.
And, of course, these images let you take a moment out of your day to contemplate, in wonder, just how magnificent a Universe we live in.
If you want to download this image to use as a wallpaper, you can find it on the Hubble website.

Yo sé que nunca es bueno aparecer que no debo llamarla... que debe parecer que así estoy bien, que ya pude olvidarla. Igual yo sé que fue su decisión y debo respetarla Y debo reprimir esta esperanza de volver a amarla

Another defining moment for me is when I first started listening to Jay Z. Me being born in 97 Jay Z had already been estableshing himself as a artist by then he had already had 3 albums out I was pretty far behind once I grew up and started to get into music more. By the time I started to listen to music and appreciate hip hop I already knew a couple Jay Z songs from my childhood memory so once I started listening again it sounded familiar but too modern this was around 07-08. But thanks to the internet I had no probably going back and hearing what I missed so I went back and listened to all his albums Reasonable Doubt, Vol 1, Vol 2 which is my favorite, Vol 3, The Dynasty, up to Blueprint. Going back and listening to him at a young aflge I can see how he has changed and grown as an artist. In his past he would rap alot about drug dealing living a lifestyle I couldnt imagine at the time. Spending money buying luxourious things, drinking champagne and partying with women all day. But how Jay Z would put it in his verses and deliver it to you was far different from how anybody else has done it and every so often you would get an introspective Jay Z to teach a life lesson or to let you know something different about him you didnt know before. Jay Z is known as the greatest rapper of all time, rightfully so he not only managed to stay relevant with rapping since mid 90s but was able to venture out into other things so listening him rap about his struggles and how it lead to his success his motivational and defining moment in music for me.
