Eclipse

     I was waiting for some time, I wasn’t the only one to wait though…

    The more people were joining me, the longer the absence seemed to be.

    I thought we were all awaiting for the same thing,

some rest for the soul, some soothing for our worries,

but it seems like I was wrong…

    The light came indeed comforting our hearts

and relieving our uncertainties, at least I thought so…

    But I saw faces changing, evil grins replacing genuine smiles,

ghosts and nasty tongues appeared from nowhere;

I hoped it was “from nowhere” but I knew I was fooled!

    Scavengers were hiding amongst us.

    Attracted by the light of fame and the smell of sins,

summoned by our caring thoughts,

as so many open doors to unleash their poisoned flow!

    It was brutal and unfair,

them enjoying the pain they caused,

Us trying to get rid of them!

   Our tainted happiness seemed to affect our sun too;

Brightness has dimmed since then,

Plunging us in a grey torpor…

   The wait is long for those who hope, but sun will rise again.
