"I. . . Am aware." She was more aware than credit was due most of the time. She knew there was something going on in the background of living here. The way Maika acted most of the time, the way she is looked at akin to a prize. She wasn't sure of exacts, but. . .

"I only have two friends, nothing more. Maika and yourself, if you would allow me to claim that." She moved her gaze off to the side, hands gripping onto the book in her hands. A rare thing in this place, but something she adored nonetheless. It was a handy tool, to be able to learn how to read and write without direct help in a place like this. "I can only hope. . . Things eventually chance for the better." She was useless in this situation and she knew it. They were all just children, after all. . .

"It. . . Is quite alright." Not really, but she knew no better way to go about any of this. It was all rather. . . Chaotic. While she had the thought to try to ask him to be in a private, this was NOT how she wanted it to go. Publicly. . . And officially.

"To be fair. . . I don't think either one of us had expected it to turn out like this." She wasn't entirely sure how to go about this, either. . . It wasn't as if she hated the arrangement, but she didn't love it either. "What. . . Would you like to do?"

She wouldn't stop him, either way. It wasn't as if they had to do such things RIGHT NOW, after all. . .

He knew full well why Dianne had been chosen. Even long before his Father's death, they had been close. But still, things were complicated with her alignment with another nation--

It had been decided that having a child together would be a way of creating a treaty between their two nations.

Raj still didn't know how to feel about it. He loved her, he really did, but he had been content with never really acting on that love. He didn't feel like he had the right to ask anything like this of her--

And yet...
