31 Nights of Halloween Horror: day 29
My choice for the 29th of October was Glorious (2022)
I rated this one 7/10! This movie was.... gloriously fun lol. Starring Ryan Kwanten (who I love from True Blood, Dead Silence, and Them) and the voice of JK Simmons, this was a wild ride. Good acting, good effects, good story. I laughed out loud a few times. Just all around a fun watch. Don’t read too much about the movie, just go into it as blind as you can be lol.

Mixed feelings about the Two Piece tbh. On the one hand I love love love the opportunity to fix some of the atrocious pacing, and I want it to be condensed to something that seems more watchable in length (so I can convince my friends to watch it lol)
On the other hand, I love the og voice actors and hate change haha. I also honestly love the style of the early episodes. Like yeah they're not too advanced by today's standards, but they have such a charming look that some of the later (pre wano) episodes lack imo

what was wrong with speak no evil?
I mean I just never want to see that trailer again in my life. They have played it in front of every single movie I’ve seen in a theater since March. Sometimes twice just to fuck with me.
(But focusing on the actually movie for a second it’s stupid to remake a brand new horror movie for American audiences especially when the original is already mostly in English and widely available)

As much as I enjoy mike flanagan’s adaptation of Hill House nothing in it really hit as hard as the novel for me. Remember how all Eleanor wanted was to be loved and cherished after a lifetime of labor for a mother with no love to give and the only thing that offered it to her was the grasping darkness of Hill House. Remember how all her life she had been waiting for Hill House and all her time in death will be spent there with the corpses of the other trapped women who fell victim to it.

31 Nights of Halloween Horror: day 21
My choice for yesterday was the newest installment in a series of anthologies, V/H/S/99
I rated this 7/10! Very fun movie! Definitely better than V/H/S Viral was lol. This one has 5 segments within the movie: The Shredding, Suicide Bid, Ozzy’s Dungeon, The Gawkers, and To Hell and Back. Personally, To Hell and Back (especially Mabel the Skull Biter <3) and Suicide Bid were the best clips in this installment. The Gawkers was probably my least favorite. Overall really good though! I enjoyed each short. I definitely recommend this one. Nsfw/Nsfl though lol.

Lonely
<< prev parts: one, two, three, four
for @starcrosseddeancas's Dreamy Drabble event. lonely take 2, this time exactly 100 words, a true challenge! did this prompt earlier in the week because Thee Plot of these interconnected drabbles but here's another lonely little moment.
Dean knew loneliness. He'd never really had a friend growing up, besides Sam. There were people he was friendly with, acquaintances and classmates and one-night-friends. He was never anyplace long enough to really know anyone. Or for them really know him.
He tried fast-tracking the knowing, once. Two weeks with Cassie, he spilled his guts out for her to see. This is me. She'd shuttered and threw him out.
Now, a month into this thing with Lee, he thought maybe. It'd be easier with a hunter. But this wasn't real. They were playing cowboys in middle-of-nowhere Texas. It wouldn't last.

Just watched Alex Winter's new Shudder Original movie Destroy All Neighbors (directed by Josh Forbes) and it is a complete clusterfuck of gore, slimy special effects, and rock n roll craziness!
Alex Winter really loves having his head detached from his body, huh?
Vlad has got to be one of Alex's most unique (and potty-mouthed) characters yet. He is almost unrecognisable, donned head-to-toe in grotesque prosthetic makeup (not unlike his beast boy look for Freaked!).
Not just that, but Jonah Ray did an absolutely fantastic job playing struggling rock musician William Brown alongside Kiran Deol as his rather fed up girlfriend, Emily. This film mostly takes place in a shitty apartment building with equally shitty residents.
A drug-fueled splatter-comedy with epic music. An absolute blast! Highly recommend.
