There are many things you often hear, but you don't actually listen to, nor reflect upon. For instance, a proud parent that leans over a smiling baby in a pram and unequivocally states: "such a happy child". This, of course, is just one possible explanation, because there is absolutely no way to dismiss the possibility that the child is actually imagining growing up into adolescence, binding the mother to a bed, each limb to a corner, skin her alive, rape her, leave her to die an agonizing death, and turning to the father, naked, gagged and bound to a chair, and, armed with a hammer, proceed to free the kneecap from the knee, make it slide down the leg between the skin and the tibia, until it sits on top of the tarsus, and painstaikingly rotate it until it bulges from the sole of the foot, in front of the calcaneus, at which point, with a pairing knife, the sole of the foot is cut open and the kneepcap extracted. The same happens to other kneecap, finishing with the proverbial emasculation and disembowling. All of it drowned by Bach's French Suite no.2. Now, can it also be unequivocally stated that this is not a possibility?

Here's a cool Slapp Happy / Pink Floyd curio: Anthony Moore's original demo for what would become the Floyd radio hit Learning To Fly. It's actually amazing to hear how many elements AM brought to the table before Gilmour, Carin and Ezrin had their way with it and added some more words.

I talk of Gilmour and don't mention his major claim to fame? Yes, I forgot to mention his work with Pink Floyd. While the debate on whether or not they should be seen as that band under his leadershop remains, I would call them another edition of the group, which basically survived a lot, so their final incarnation does make sense. Gilmour transformed the band into an outgrowth of his solo work at the time, but I would suggest him collaborating with Wright and Mason made what he did on his own better. We mustn't forget – Pink Floyd didn't go all Chicago in their late 80's return, they became a progressive MOR rock. Believe me, this description sounds way more pejorative than intended, since they did something quite extraordinary – they still remained themselves.
