which reminds me of a fic where Chris' middle name is Evan because Buddie were childhood friends who lost each other and only realize years into their friendship as adults

Somebody said yesterday that the basketball scene from yesterday was like the basketball scene from the Bollywood movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. And now I can't help but see parallels between that movie and Buddie. Eddie is Rahul, Buck is Anjali, Marisol is Tina, and Tommy is Aman. I'm sorry 😭

In keeping in line with the bollywood!911 theme, here’s something from Don’t Stop Believing (the Jab We Met Madney AU)

The car is filled with the hum of the engine, windows vibrating lightly as they speed down an imperfect road. It takes her a second to discern that there's a third sound, between the car and the baleful tune from the radio.

Howie's humming fits melodiously between the other two sounds. It’s gentle, unobtrusive yet distinct. Now that her ears are tuned to it, she holds on, keeping her attention fixed on how it ducks and weaves around everything else, always in balance.

She registers the loss of his tune before anything else, high pitched hum turned inhale, before the car is filled with the screech of rubber against rubber. Her seatbelt digs briefly into her shoulder before she falls back in her seat.

Beside her, Howard mutters a quiet curse before he turns to look at her.

“You okay?”

Her heart pummels against her chest, the sound of their sudden decrease in speed still grating in her ears. It tastes like expensive champagne and missed restaurant reservations.

Her neck is thankfully pain-free when she turns to him. Her head nods, accompanied by a camera-flash smile, and she loosens the grip on her trousers. His two-handed grip on the steering wheel gains a little more color.
