‘Holland, Michigan’: ‘Belfast’s Jude Hill Latest To Join Prime Video Thriller

EXCLUSIVE: Belfast breakout Jude Hill has come aboard for a role in Holland, Michigan, the Hitchcockian thriller being directed for Prime Video by Fresh helmer Mimi Cave. He’s set to star alongside Nicole Kidman, Gael García Bernal and Matthew Macfadyen, whose castings were previously announced, in a role that has not been disclosed.

The film based on the 2013 Black List-topping script by Andrew Sodroski hinges on the secrets that lurk beneath a Midwestern town. Producers include Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, Pacific View Management & Productions’ Peter Dealbert, and Churchill Films’ Kate Churchill. Holland, Michigan will stream in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Hill is best known for playing the lead role of Buddy in Kenneth Branagh’s semi-autobiographical Focus Features drama Belfast — a coming-of-age tale set against the tumult of 1960s Ireland. The Academy Award and BAFTA-winning feature had the young actor starring alongside Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciaran Hinds and Caitriona Balfe. His performance was recognized with 18 nominations and seven wins over the course of the 2021-22 awards season, with Hill notably picking up the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Young Actor.

Hill recently reteamed with Branagh on A Haunting in Venice, the third installment in his acclaimed Agatha Christie franchise for 20th Century Studios. That film, due for release on September 15, has him sharing the screen with Branagh, Tina Fey, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Dornan and Kelly Reilly.

Hill is represented by UTA and Berwick & Kovacik.

As much as OL opened doors for Cait it has also hindered other opportunities. From all the actresses nominated alongside her in 2022, including the Belfast cast, she's the only one unable to do something else due to S7 filming for an entire year. 😔

None of the other actresses nominated alongside Caitríona in 2022 are hindered by Outlander’s filming schedule. But I take your point.

We haven’t heard confirmation of any upcoming projects on her schedule, but that doesn’t mean there are none. Typically, Caitríona doesn’t acknowledge a new project until it’s been formally announced.

During 2021 and 2022, she received 25+ nominations for her performance in Belfast, competing against the performances of 31 other actresses. Going by IMDb, some of those actresses are very busy, some are moderately busy, and some… not so much.

Of note is Oscar-nominee Kirsten Dunst and Oscar-winner Regina King, each with only one project, listed as Upcoming/Post-Production, since The Power Of The Dog (Dunst) The Harder They Fall (King) in 2021.

Who knows why there appears to be nothing new on Caitríona’s professional schedule? Maybe there is nothing? Maybe there is something not yet announced? Maybe she’s working on her own projects and is unavailable for others?

To My Eating-Disordered Self,

Hi! You must be exhausted. You've been working really hard for a long time to try to protect me, and to some degree, your hard work seems to have paid off– I'm still here, aren't I? But the world you prepared for me wasn't– isn't– one we need to live in anymore. I know now that I am strong enough to withstand feeling my own feelings. I've learned how to, and practiced, showing up as myself. You couldn't really let me do that. 

I'm still holding back; I can tell. I say I can feel my feelings, and yet, I'm still scared to let them in. I'm scared, and that's okay. I don't need to make myself feel anything anymore. At least, I know that I don't have to. I still will, tho, and that's gonna be okay. I know I can work thru it. 

Thank you for holding my hurt for me when I didn't know how to hold it all by myself. Thank you for wanting to help me. And thank you for getting help once you learned how to, once you learned it was safe. Once I learned it was safe. We are safe. I can protect you now. 

You were very brave. I know that because I know just how scared you were. You wanted to give me power back, give me some control back over my life. And in a way, you did. But you also hurt me. And I don't want to hurt like that anymore. I've found ways to heal the injury so that neither of us needs to carry it. 

I want you to rest. You might not think you deserve it, especially because of how much more hurt I felt because of how you ran things. But I'm running things now, and I say that every part of me gets to have grace. I forgive you for not knowing better. I'm going to show you how it feels for me to live without your rules, and I invite you to see that it is good. We do deserve goodness, and love, and tenderness, and care, and you'll know because that's what I'm gonna do from now on.

Another month, another no chapter

This time they have been slow sharing this month's contents of the magazine but as you can see in the images, this isn't the month in which we will have vnc back:

At the start of December Jun said in Twitter she started making manga pages again which is a good new, as long as she feels okay, but that doesn't mean next month we will have chapter neither.

I think it will be announced in Twitter before the magazine confirms the content of the month so we will see if it comes back in January, February or September 2023.

Burt Bacharach, the songwriter and performer who turned easy listening into high art, has died aged 94. A representative for Bacharach confirmed to the Washington Post that the singer died at home in Los Angeles of natural causes.

In all, he scored 73 Top 40 hits in the US and 52 in the UK.
