and then the next time he gets on a bicycle he rides right in front of a car and almost gets hit

and the next time he gets on a motorcycle he gets off and immediately runs into oncoming traffic and almost gets hit

in conclusion

if Buck is on any kind of bike

he will almost get hit by a car, or will get hit by a car

All right, everyone! I think I've cracked the code!

Huge thank you to Juju @loveyourownsmiilee for letting me bounce these ideas on her and helping me articulate this.

So, I think it's obvious that both Marisol and Natalia are not love interests for Buck and Eddie, because the writers are using a formula that has been used before. It's a red herring!

Marisol and Natalia are basically the same as Lucy and Lena.

Now, hear me out. Lena and Lucy were the female equivalents of Buck and Eddie, and were suspected to be there love interests initially. However, they're reflections of how Buck and Eddie used to be at work.

Natalia and Marisol are reflections of how Eddie and Buck used to be with their personal lives.

Natalia is the unabashed, enthusiastic person who embodies her job. She's genuinely passionate about one thing and it's death.

Marisol feels like she has expectations from her family and feels responsible for her brother, who is childish. There were moments when she was on the phone with her mom and her mom was pushing her to find a partner.

They've both made those little things their entire personalities. Just like they did with Lucy's recklessness and Lena's anger.

And this is why Buck thinks Natalia gets him. It's because Buck was her.

This show has always been huge on symbolism; whether it's the color theory, the couch theory, down to the meaning of names, etc.! And in the next episode, it is speculated that Kameron and Natalia are going to end up meeting and it has me thinking about Buck's storyline this season.

Buck has been struggling with what will make him feel at ease and dealing with him dying and coming back. So, what does this have to do with them meeting?

Well, here comes the physical metaphors that the writers love to have in the show.

The culmination of Kameron and Natalia meeting, is the duality of life and death which Buck has been struggling with all season.

But, wait there's more!

Lucy is coming back to show that Buck isn't the reckless, impulsive guy anymore. Natalia represents that Buck isn't the guy whose job is his life anymore. Kameron is reappearing because Buck isn't spare parts anymore, especially defective spare parts.

Also, it took him three tries to perfect the lasagna. He has three exes, three couches, and now three different women to show that he's at ease.

So, I'm hopeful that everything will work out because we know this season, specifically the latter half, has been different for Buck and Eddie.

so are we not gonna talk about all the pregnant people in the background while Bobby was having his heart to heart with Buck in the coma dream??? Cause it was definitely an intentional amount of people all very much pregnant. Was it a reference to being a sperm donor? To wanting a family? To already being a father to Christopher or that Bobby is his father? Maybe that this moment is the rebirth of Buck?????

I genuinely get so surprised everytime I see people hating on season 6, especially Buck's storyline

like yeah I'll admit the sperm donor arc felt a little bit unfinished and weird

but the rest of it is so good to me I'm genuinely baffled that the majority of people don't agree with me on this one

like the season starts with doing his freaking out about trying to find happiness and all that and trying to prove he'd be a good captain, but he's doing all this extra stuff to try and prove that and he's really just trying to be a completely different person in order to be happy and worthy and all that

and then 6x11 comes around and he realizes that he's enough as he is and he doesn't have to do all this extra stuff or be anything else in order to have a place and help people and make an impact and all those things that he wants. And he actually starts to think about what he wants instead of just floundering around like he usually does trying to keep everyone else happy.

like "there's nothing for you in that room, no one in there needs you." "I'm not going back for them. I'm going back for me."

insane shit coming from the guy that's spent his entire life making choices and decisions based on what will keep other people happy and satisfied and putting all his happiness and self worth in how other people feel about him

and sure it takes a bit for that to settle in and he does have his freak outs about dying as one should

but by the time 6x18 comes around he's able to save the entire team basically just by trusting himself and his experience and doing what he knows without having to put on some fake persona of "captain", he just takes charge and gets it done

like that's a perfect wrap up of his storyline to me, and such a good contrasting parallel to the first few episodes

and yeah his relationship with Natalia is kinda weird, but it was what he needed in that moment

like it never would have worked long term, but it worked for a short time and thats okay, not everything has to be long term or permanent for it to be acceptable. And its perfectly normal to be drawn to someone who can relate to a very huge traumatic event like that, and if that's what Buck needed to cope and process it then that's enough ... especially since Natalia was pretty much only interested in him for the same reason anyway, so it wasn't like he was just using her to cope with trauma and she wanted more. they were both in it for the same reasons.
