”My pants are Visa by Milliken and made sometime in the 80s. My shoes are Steve Madden and ofc I got the shirt from some tourist place in midtown. I like finding pieces that don’t look like they’d go together, and then figuring out how to match them with each other as best I can. I just look for a common color or pattern and roll with it.”

the way I have different personalities depending on how I dress........ something to talk about one day when I manage to find a therapist.
#like there's teen me hiding himself in oversized mallgoth/emo clothes#then there's confident and fun me dressed like a slutty 80s rockstar high heels and make up and big hair and skintight pants#also quiet and mysterious me wearing all flowy shapeless black (or moss green or white) whimsigoth witchy type clothes#or the anime girly misa amane draculaura monster high style me when things are really fucked#and i dress up try to feel like a desirable but untouchable goth girly#and the elegant vampire adjacent historybounding type me that only rarely comes around anymore#and then recently there's also work me who just throws on a t shirt black jeans and black work boots#with some edgy unobtrusive jewelry and his hair in a simple ponytail#who's polite and just gets stuff done for 8 hours#and in the middle of all this mess idk who i am at my core lol

Fashion wise, what is your favorite historical period?
Hmmmm this is hard honestly, cause I can be convinced into any if I see enough pics/paintings tbh. I really like anything post ~1630s or so(I HATE THOSE RENNAISSANCE ERA PANTALOONS) Also oops idk much abt women's fashion bcs I like men's clothing a lot more ;;;; I love suits. love wearing suits. Yeah.
I feel very fond obviously of late 1600s-early 1700s obviously bcs of boy king au. I like how pre-19th century, men's and women's clothing feels pretty evenly matched(in terms of flamboyance and detail.) So much embroidery and ruffles and everything. And I really like breeches, how high waisted they are. I guess I really like the cut of the clothes. Also Napoleonic era, so important to me, I love how high waisted the breeches are, the stockings, the tailed coats, and everything yknow???
I also really like late 1800s-early 1900s as well, mostly bcs of Leyendecker's art. Like if you've seen Oppenheimer, the suits he wears before Los Alamos are soooo perfect to me. I really like how flattering they are to the body, small waist, long legs, broad shoulders aahhhh!!!
If only it were socially acceptable to wear suits all the time 🤧 I find modern fashion to be pretty boring, even if easier
Anyways this is historical me if you even care:
Cofi told me this painting looks like me 😔 true tbh
#lmfao i just saw sam's answer to this exact i love how different mine is hahaha#i think when we get into more modern eras its too recent if that makes sense?#like i like the 80s but idk if i like the general fashion of it. but i like what my parents wore back then yknow#i dress casually most of the time and enjoy it obviously#but i also get sad when i realize we used to dress 'formally' all the time 🤧 i like it a lot better#but ONLY if i could wear a suit okay...#but yeah mainly i like 1690-1930 or so#roman era is also pretty great honestly#also i say 1690 but i do like some stuff before that if only bcs of Antony van Dyke's paintings#<- they are SOOOOOOOO!!!!!! to me#whenever i think abt seb wearing nando's style of clothing in boy king au i think of his paintings#bcs he painted a lot of spanish court wear(all black w white collars) and i love it honestly#thats the pic i included hahaha#pls though lets bring back 3 piece suits and super high waisted pants(for men)#theyre so !!!!!!#catie.asks.

okok so you know how Cyborg Tucker's thing is that, he's completely independent of Tucker and they don't share memories, and they develop his own interests and everything? I'm struggling to think of how he's gonna *dress* you know I've drawn him in so many outfits and I just did not like any of them 😭 looking for something and I don't know what it is so I'd appreciate it if you drop some of your favorite aesthetics or branches of fashion for me to look thru... or suggest some you think would fit him
#gorillaz next gen#if it helps Y2K tends to go for punk-scene-space age-lolita type stuff#Flower gravitates toward 60s styles particularly hippie ones as well as 90s grunge and 20s and 30s ball gowns#<- i say ball gowns i meant evening dresses#anyway Barb tends to go for just a flannel tank top and sweat pants but when shes not she wears a lot of 80s clothes. think 80s mom#and u know how Noodle dresses#yeah im struggling to think of how Cy Tuck would differentiate himself and have a unique style. OH ALSO forgot to mention#Tucker at that time has a lot of 90s influences as well as eboy influences#cyborg tucker

My works for sweatpants that aren’t short on me
#AFFORDABLE sweatpants. Not spending 70 dollars on pants when I could just be naked#The thing is sweatpants are super in style around here#And I really. Don’t. Wear sweatpants? It’s just n or my style? But I like to fit in ngl and their comfy so I’d like a nice pair#If I could make them work that would be great#But I can’t justify like 80 dollar sweatpants and Al the 20 dollar ones are two inches short on me :(

thinking about getting up extra early tomorrow to trudge to the other thrift store I couldn't go to today, before the dreaded weekly task of Getting Groceries for my parents and Spending 3-4 Hours Trapped in a Car with my Mother 👍
#hoping to find some more cute balletcore/coquette/Alice Cullen vibes clothes...#the bolero style cardigan i got today was such a nice find but it's only one thing...#also need to keep my eyes open for 80s style sneakers. the red pair i got at a fleamarket 2 years ago are falling apart...#also maybe some fun animal print pants...?#and maybe maybe maybe some cute 80s velvet pieces (wishful thinking but a guy can dream)

has anyone tried reverse engineering the source code to facade or whatever because i am deeply interested in how that game works
not even in just like, the language processing stuff (i think that's probably just a HUGE tangle of if -> then statements that only picks out certain keywords at certain times)
i mean like,
(ignore vergil and the gun please)
i am incredibly curious how the code for rendering this scene functions, i am curious how you get this art style, that seems to be 2d shapes pretending to be 3d, with all the weird clipping and compromises,
the broken seam on trip's pants, the weird Blobby Circles that ostensibly make up the neckline of grace's shirt, the weird circle on the elbow coming from something not meant to be seen at this angle.
you can't look up or down and all the textures on the room's geometry warp and distort when they get near the camera, the sky texture scrolls out of view if you clip out of the map.
there's a lot going on here in this engine that i'm 80% sure was coded from scratch just for this game, and i am so curious how you make something that looks this distinct

Ella Norwood (thoughts)
—
“Midnight, gettin' uptight, where are you? You said you'd meet me, now it's quarter to two…”
“I think of you every night and day. You took my heart, and you took my pride away…”
—
More D4 but make it 80’s thoughts. I didn’t like young Ella’s outfit in the movie at all! It didn’t even look like anything. I know it was supposed to be patchwork but you can’t match that to gold accessories if she’s literally coming from poverty. There was no shape or flow, and it just looked bad.
Ella’s doll actually has overalls without the weird top—which was a perfect fit for her so I went with that. I added a striped blouse with the classic big shoulders, and of course had her pant legs chinch at the ankles so they don’t catch on stuff while she’s working. The patchwork stays, natch, and I like the braided belt just not gold (maybe a straw or fabric belt).
I think, when she’s chilly, Ella wears SO much denim and has a huge patchwork jacket that she wears that absolutely dwarfs her and makes her look extra tiny.
I wasn’t originally going to keep Ella’s blue hair, but I wanted her to match Bridget so the color stays. And yes, it’s still poofy and curly cause the style works here because it’s the 80’s lol.

“I’m wearing an 80s blazer, 90s gold harem pants, reworked 90s boots, 30s beaded bag, and a gold turban. My style is inspired by all things vintage. I love bringing past beautiful items back to life and styling them in a current way.”
