Appleseed PDA montage to save you from reading endless pages of unimportant politics that don't amount to anything
also because I have nothing better to do, I'm bored, I'm moody, my gaming laptop is still broken so no BG3, and it's too late at night to start drawing after doing animation clean-up all day.
#Manga#Appleseed#Shirow Masamune#80s#This is literally every single one of these moments in the entirety of the manga's run#including bonus material#There's some great character writing hidden among all the infodumping and technobabble as well#But like I said before all it accomplishes is to make you frustrated#Because despite being written so well#Masamune was more interested in waxing philosophical than actually giving his characters the attention they deserve#Despite them displaying an insane amount of depth and complexity whenever they are able to#it's a very rare case where the characters are EXTREMELY well written and almost every moment they are on screen is amazingly well done#But the manga keeps demanding you listen to completely different side characters talk about politics for endless pages#while at the same time none of these politics have any consequence or relevance to the actual stories that happen on screen.#So it ends up with the majority of the manga is like listening to some guy you don't know on the bus reading the headlines of a newspaper#at you about political tension between two countries you have never heard of and will never feature in your life again#How do you write such great and well written characters and then be completely disinterested in actually putting them on screen?????

oh my god i forgot to post my absolute favorite strip from gay comix (issue #2, 1981)
#this collection is full of so many hilarious vignettes#between the fictional and biographical they range from hilarious to saddening but theyre all candid looks at#lgbt life in the 60s 70s and 80s#id recommend it if you're interested in older underground work#edit: for ppl who notice the opening blurb i will say this:#1. Many artists in the underground comix scene (yes the lgbt ones too) delighted in being overly provocative for the sake of it#hence the cringeworthy 'political unity is not the goal' line#2. i worried abt this too when i started going thru the issues but there are quite a few strips and comics focusing on the trans experience#that said. there are unfortunately not a lot of transgender artists involved in this collection#3. given the preceding two points i think its fair to say that a good chunk of the strips in gay comix just. Suck#but like they actually said it's important that we're capable of recognizing that a full 40 years down the line#so we can actually learn something from the life experiences the mistakes and even the lack of perspective tht sm of these artists displayed#nocturnal writings

#all might#toshinori yagi#yagi toshinori#deku#izuku midoriya#midoriya izuku#bnha#mha#i think he would enjoy just walking around the gardening section#he doesnt usually go inside he just looks at the plants and 80% of the time he will spontaneously buy one#first thing he shows midoriya after the gardening section is the lighting/ceiling fan aisle with all the displays and switches#hes such a dad#izuku gets distracted by the power tools and toshi has to tell him to put down a pair of shears#alternatively: my friend said she thought they were gonna pull up to chick fil a 😭#if you couldnt tell. i dont draw izuku often and i NEVER draw them digitally so it looks a bit funky
