Honestly, I don’t even know why, but the thought of the Warners cosplaying as the Cats characters is weirdly fun. So…

After 10 hours, over 80 layers and 8362 strokes later, this is what I conjured up. :)

- Yakko as Rum Tum Tugger

- Wakko as Bill Bailey/Tumblebrutus

- Dot as Victoria

So that’s that. I can’t really add anything up, other than, that you can see the reference pic in the second slide. XD

yax ask: what shows/movies would they watch together? (besides their own :b)

good question! funny enough i was writing a one shot the other day that touches on this! specifically what max and yakko might be watching around '95

i think the warners would watch literally anything. (no parental supervision + their insane energy = i doubt anyone could stop them if they tried.) yakko wakko and dot constantly reference new and old movies in the show so i feel like watch films together often. i can see max watching anything the average teenage boy in the 90s would watch. might pass on or be squeamish about horror (based on him being a scaredy-cat in goof troop). i headcanon max's guilty pleasure is sappy romantic films, being a disney toon and all.

as for what yakko and max would watch together specifically? hm

i think max like movies the average amount but is nowhere near as plugged in as yakko. yakko insists on 'fixing' this. the two probably sneak into movie theaters, buy (or steal) cheap VHS tapes from the bargain bin, rent stuff from the local video store, borrow older films from the library, etc.

i imagine a wide variety of genres and ratings. they've seen most of the major blockbusters from the past 10 or so years. (so late 80s to early/mid 90s.) any time they watch a disney movie, max gets teased =)

as for specific examples? pull up a list of 90s box office hits, mash it together with popular direct to TV/home video releases, and there you go!

at least, thats my personal headcanon for how events would play out lol

nowhere in my post did i say “dot warner is in her thirties.” and that’s not something i believe anyway. if you’re referring to me saying “she doesn’t act like [a 9 year old] at all anyway … i wouldn’t be surprised if they aged up the warners,” i still don’t see how that would translate to me thinking dot is in her thirties. a lot of numbers are between 9 and 30. personally, i was thinking that she’d just be in her late teens at this point, so still not an adult.

i see what you’re saying about the screen shot, and that does make sense, however even way back in the animaniacs bible ruegger states that the warners are teens/ageless. as long as they follow the format of youngest-middle-elder. the only reason i use him as a source is because that’s what everyone else does for the 9-11-14 ages. otherwise it’d just be cherrypicking.

you’re also giving me an opinion of your own when you say that she “doesn’t come across as older than 12,” because i know a bunch of people that would disagree with that. i have a younger brother that’s in the age group people assign to dot and he is in no way on the same maturity level she is. wakko, absolutely, but not dot. like you said, though, she’s a cartoon, so she was made with a set personality regardless of her age.

i’m not sure what point you thought i was trying to make, but the reason i made this post is because i felt that people were freaking out over something that might not even be an issue. i mean, seriously, if she really WAS a 9 year old in the eyes of the crew, why would they give her the body of a teen/young adult? TWICE? anime dot also looks like a teenager. i didn’t bring this headcanon up because i wanted an excuse to lewd her, if that’s what you’re thinking; i simply want to ease people’s fears by suggesting that maybe the “canon” age of dot ISN’T canon after all.

also, 80’s cats-dot absolutely does NOT have huge tits. she’s muscular and happens to have boobs. boobs that didn’t even stand out to me until i saw how much people were shitting on the design. legit my first thought when i saw those designs was “ugh, why are their normal faces on humanoid bodies?” because it looks uncanny. breasts are not inherently sexual, and not once was there a focus on them in the clip.

ok this is a hot take that might get me cancelled but anyway.

i mean think about it….that was a piece of information mentioned ONCE on a podcast by the guy who isn’t even running the show anymore. also, even if she was 9 in the OG show, she doesn’t act like it at all for the reboot. at least in my opinion… i wouldn’t be surprised if they aged the warners up at all. it would certainly explain the…design choices they’ve made 😅

anyway yeah. idk i feel like we should take those ages with a grain of salt. because tom has also said that their ages can range from 8-36, depending on the skit. and he ALSO talked about dot in a very adult setting on reddit a couple years back. i’ll find screens if anyone is curious.
