Gravity Falls AU - 7alt8: Stanley Pines
Tumblr media
I love Gravity Falls and I recently finished Book of Bill XD
So! AU idea splurge time!
What if Stan had never broken Ford's science project? Had let Ford go off to West Tech and stayed in Glass Shard Beach?
What if Bill had taken an interest in Stan to be his "partner" rather than Ford? Wanting someone he thought was stupid enough to never be disloyal to him and yet strong enough to be of use, and decided to prey upon Stan's loneliness and daddy issues as a heartbroken teen at 17 before stealing him away with the promise of 'never having to be alone ever again'?
You get this, a Stan that's spent the last 43 years as Bill's acolyte in the nightmare realm and seems to have gotten perpetually stuck in the angsty 90s. A Stan that doesn't return to his world until it's time for him to start taking it over one country at a time in Bill's name with the henchmaniacs at his side.
...a missing twin that has been sought after by his brother for the last 43 years.

Weirdmageddon Came To The Wrong Town
Tumblr media
"If Fiddleford didn't have such a big heart, why I believe he'd make the world's most formable adversary! That intelligence of his, is by the very definition, that of a 'mad scientist'." - Ford proudly introducing Mable and Dipper to "Genius McGucket".
Had an image I wanted to get out! When Weirdmageddon actually happens in 7alt8 AU and reaches Gravity Falls, Fidds doesn't take too kindly to the henchmaniacs trampling on his homestead. One lung or not he's more than willing to go toe to toe and show off his inventive prowess, starting with a gauntlet that stays powered by the living electricity in his body. (Which means if he has energy that thing is staying on, and yes it's use does drain him). Plus, the fact his house and lab can also transform into a 'Big O' like sized mechabot which you can see starting to break apart and reassemble under his feet.
In the corner you can see him holding the Quantum Destabilizer (a hand held version the same size of the memory gun in OG universe), because in this AU he and Ford came up with it together and that was built rather than the memory gun, using parts from the lower levels of crash site omega. (There's only two in existence and they can only be used twice.)

Life Update 1/10/25
So currently suffering through winter storm weather. All I gotta say is I went to New York for the first time this last week with some good friends and my husband and I am SO glad we made it back before the weather hit. We already suffered a flight delay but getting stuck would've been a big oof XD
Also being on a plane is something else! Literally felt like a can of pressurized soda while in the air lol
I projected a little on my 7alt8 AU Stan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beneath the cut - original napkin doodles, because that was the only thing that really helped was doodling lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Drawing in pen is a struggle! Respect to those that can do it without ever needing to erase lol
Tumblr media
Tried drawing kiddo Ford, poor guy lmao
Tumblr media
...maybe I projected onto Fidds a bit more than Stan XDDD
Tumblr media
Lady Liberty from the Staten Island Ferry was beautiful though! One of my favorite sights <3
Not as beautiful as experiencing Broadway for the first time though at the stage of Moulin Rouge OMG!!! I died <333 It was a blast being in a new place and getting to spend time with one of my besties. (I have about 200 photos haha)
I already miss New York and wanna go back XD

He let out a sigh as he closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. “What do ya want from me, kid? Why do ya keep puttin’ us through this? Why can’t you get it through your head that this is the way that things are?” “Life sucks,” He grumbled as he opened his eyes again and looked at her. “And sometimes there ain’t shit ya can do about it. Seriously, what's it gonna take for you to let it go and just leave me alone?” Mable was quiet, so quiet that he felt a small pang of guilt, and almost apologized. ...in a way. But she spoke first. “I… I want my Grunkle!”

Stanley hated how tempted he suddenly was. Bill could see it too. “We’re a tight knit group too! Once you’re in, you’re IN, kid. No takesies backsies from now until the end of time!” Or until Bill got tired of one of them and turned their bones into a new cape, whichever came first, but he didn’t voice that out loud.

Is Ford a virgin?
In...in canon?
Um, he's certainly implied that he's lonely and would love a partner so you could try and say he is given his multiple declarations of lack of ability to talk to women. But I think he's probably not given the fact he did date a siren, and likely a few anomalies or people during his portal travels. There's also the B.O.B to consider too and all the subtle hints scattered through media for Bill being an ex.
Sorry but I have no definitive answer for this ^^;
In my 7alt8 AU though yes he certainly is, though that doesn't mean he doesn't have experience. If you catch my drift.
And before anyone asks 7alt8 Stan definitely is NOT one. Sorry. He's had to think of more than one creative way to get out of certain situations one too many times. And he parties way too hard lol 💀

Where did your idea of having Ford and Stan have different birthdays come from? 👀
Thank you for the question! :D
I actually wanted something that can be seen as a bonding activity to serve as more of a start to their division, a bit of foreshadowing if you would, kinda like fate playing it's part since the day they were born.
And I wanted it to be a bit of a catalyst for Ford on a subconscious level that gives him more of an opportunity to get that 'suffocated' feeling like he has in canon by getting a taste of something that's just his own (and suffering for it by seeing how upset that makes Stan through the years to the point of there being a bit of bitterness there as he does his best to sacrifice in a way to keep his very much loved twin happy).
Birthdays to me have always been a very personal affair. It's supposed to celebrate your life and the joy you bring to others by existing. In this case with the twins, sharing one would be more of celebrating them both existing rather than just one.
So imagine Stan who hated having the separate birthdays (an independent thing in a very much codependent relationship 'without ford I was just half of a dynamic duo') and had gotten used to Ford indulging him (reassuring him that someone fully understood and valued him being around just as much as themselves), slowly getting cut out from that, getting it rubbed in his face that he was younger by only a few minutes the older they got and the separate birthdays emphasizing that (being taught to believe that makes him somehow less important, an 'extra' - damn that cardboard sign. Tough love was an extreme back then, and making your kid stand outside for two days holding a sign saying 'extra stan 2$' is certainly not the best way to go about motivating your son to do better in school Filbrick!). It adds to his own resentment and the feeling of both being unwanted and unloved, helping propel him into running away when he does.
It's just... this whole tangled ball of emotions.
Because you have Filbrick and Caryn too who didn't help, and usually tried to provide best they could given what I imagine was a financially tight upbringing. I mean they had the twins share a holiday sweater to keep warm for crying out loud. I think... they were as good of parents as they could be given the times they were in and the mindset of society at large had both with money and standards. Throwing Stan out in canon while in anger, was awful, I won't forgive that, but it did happen a lot back then especially at 17-18 when kids were both 'considered' or officially adults, and could go off on their own. You can still see that kinda thought process even nowadays in older folks to prevent 'mooching' or 'being a bum'.
Anyways that's why when it came to birthdays I saw that Filbrick and Caryn really wanted to help promote future independence between the twins when witnessing how close they were (because Filbrick honestly wasn't going to foster a relationship where Stan and Ford needed to rely on each other to survive - not in a dog eat dog world. If you read lost legends he goes off about Ford 'sticking his neck out' for Stan and punishes both of them for Stanley's actions).
Unfortunately, with that saying of 'The path to hell is paved in good intentions', Filbrick and Caryn messed up. They tried their best to give them both the best birthdays, but with tight money they didn't plan too well and so didn't give equal treatment (they couldn't afford two cakes, buying a cupcake after was already a luxurious stretch - 5$ for a cake was sacrificing a weeks worth of groceries already), and ended up playing it a bit too casual and brisk with Stan's celebration over how embarrassed and guilty they felt.
That's not to say there still wasn't a bit of selfishness there as Filbrick did see Ford as the one that could potentially help them out the most financially in the future given his smarts (being a man 'tough as a cinderblock' and focused on the ability to provide it's obvious why Filbrick had an obsession with money), so Ford was given the cake and clear favoritism.
But again, both parents still tried, and ended up failing too. Humans are complicated when it comes to emotions and thoughts like that and mistakes do happen with first time parents sadly.
So that's why I made the birthdays separate! Where I got the idea from. It allowed for room with character divergence and altered growth in my AU from canon. As well as things that could be explored further with the characters.
Plus angst, glorious, glorious angst 😭

At least Stan was not kicked out of home at seventeen like in canon...
Yeah, but I’m afraid he’s still not going to fair much better…
He’ll have a place to sleep (kinda) and more opportunities to eat and stuff, but he’s still going to end up in a survival situation.
Bill and his henchmaniacs aren’t going to exactly guide him like normal mentors would, and there’s always a gamble if he’ll be on their or Bill’s good side from day to day
Not to mention his training
Bill is that type of ‘parent’ that would toss their kid into the water and tell them sink or swim…without coming to aid unless bribed or convinced
Stan’s in for a LONG four decades, one or two of those at least before he gets used to it
His new ‘family’ is questionable

You said we can ship whoever we want in your AU? How about Billford!
Yep! Whoever you please so long as you don't try to claim it as canon to my AU! I'm almost done with Soos so a step closer to where everyone can go ham if they want ^^
Oh wait... was this a request? I mean, I could make some for you sure, in a way at least lol

S: "...either ya quit it with the comments on my bro or ya stop tryin' ta be my father figure. Pick one."
B: "Haven't a clue what you're talking about SON."
Hope implication is good enough for you XD I'm personally a subscriber to one sided Billford myself pffft! Funnier that way, and more angsty

Gravity Falls AU: 7alt8 - Mabel Pines
Tumblr media
Mabel discovered a love of leggings once she hit high school and has worn them ever since. I feel her style was influenced though if you can guess why based on some of the clues provided in this post lol
Not much is different with her and Dipper in this AU, other than they're both older thanks to the extended time frame, and that they've traveled the world more than most teens their ages thanks to assisting Ford in his investigations and search for Stanley when not spending a few days or weeks at a time in Gravity Falls, (they both doubt Stanley is still alive initially just like the rest of the family but don't voice that in consideration for their great uncle's feelings) and as a consequence have gotten up to a lot more shenanigans than their OG selves.

7alt8 AU - Family
(Takes place three years before the comic 'Parallels')
“You’d really keep my great niece and nephew from me?” Ford asked breathlessly, his eyes wide in disbelief. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
This was to be the first summer he got to spend with his great niece and nephew, and he’d been looking forward to it for the last year. The thought of actually being able to be around family without judgment or pity had kept him up long into the night with excitement the night prior as he’d come up with all sorts of activities they could do together.
And now he was being told it might not happen.
Ford had pulled into his niece and nephew’s driveway only ten minutes ago, he hadn’t even gotten to greet the kids yet, and already everything was falling apart over bland tea… with admittedly good biscotti.
Lee and Abigail both exchanged a look before the shorter brunette took a deep breath, an awkward smile meant to comfort gracing her lips but doing nothing other than causing a flare of irritation through her uncle.
“We don’t want to, it’s just…” She paused, her eyes darting as she tried to find her words that Ford knew were going to be insensitive no matter how she used them. “I’m sorry to say this but, we don’t want them being dragged into this… obsession of yours. I mean, you missed their 13th birthday party because you felt as if you’d discovered the remains of El Dorado and thought that it was somehow run by lizardmen!”
“Aliens,” Ford corrected as he cleared his throat. “It was connected to aliens, and I said the residents were likely attacked by lizardmen at one point resulting in a war that wiped out their crops and festered disease. Not that they were—”
“That’s not the point!” Abigail cried as she waved his words away.
He winced, and had the decency to look apologetic for his bad habit of rambling. Ford had always been a man of discovery and science, so he really couldn’t help how his words got away from him sometimes.
“I apologized for that. I got them both gifts.”
“Yes… some supposed particle gun and a set of laser powered handcuffs.” Lee drawled.
Ford couldn’t help beaming with pride. “Two excellent pinnacles of technology wouldn’t you agree? My colleague and I spent the better part of a year fine tuning the blueprints and constructing them. The process was fascinating!”
Lee and Abigail stared at him.
And the longer they did so the more he deflated until he was awkwardly staring right back.
Abigail ran a hand through her hair, “Be that as it may, this is still a problem. It’s been decades Uncle Standford, and we’ve already told them that Uncle Stanley—”
“He’s not dead.” Ford cut across her, resolute and final.
His nephew and niece-in-law both exchanged a wary look.
Ford sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He knew he should be respectful right now, even if every atom of his body protested and wanted to chide the both of them, but it was difficult.
He’d just gotten so tired of hearing how the family had given up over the years…
“Look,” He began as he adjusted his glasses and folded his hands. “I love these kids, more than anything, and their safety will be my utmost priority if you agree to entrust them to me, I promise you.”
Abigail swallowed thickly as she glanced down at her hands and began to fiddle with the acrylic on one of her long manicured nails. Lee, however, met Ford’s gaze head on, his words stern and tone icy.
“If we let you have them for the summer you are to take them to your home in Gravity Falls, and keep them there. You won’t drag our children on this wild goose chase of yours, or you’ll never see Dipper and Mabel again. I won’t agree to trust our children to some lunatic. Do you understand?”
'Wild goose chase.’
Ford’s hands clenched into fists against the table top, but he showed just how great the extent of his control was as he kept a perfectly neutral expression and nodded in understanding while he replied, “Completely.”
Lee and Abigail exchanged another concerned look before finally relenting as they smiled.
“We’ll have them get packed then.” Abigail chirped as she took a sip of her tea.
Ford forced himself to relax as he returned their grins with a hollow one of his own and popped a piece of biscotti between his teeth. For the next ten minutes he listened to Lee and Abigail’s upcoming plans for a vacation to the alps now that the kids would be preoccupied, and reassured them when they would ask questions or voice any lingering worries.
It was tedious.
But finally, they both excused themselves to go help the twins pack, leaving Ford alone in their kitchen. Alone with their phone only a few feet away, tucked into the corner of their marble counter.
He wasted no time rushing over to it.
On the third ring he got an answer, and he was quick, straight to the point and clipped.
“Fiddleford? Does your uncle still own that hanger off of I-580?”
~~~~
“Tell me, do you love your parents?”
Dipper and Mabel frowned as they looked at each other before looking back up at him.
“Yes,” they replied simultaneously.
“Good, because I love them too!” Ford exclaimed as he tossed the last of their bags in the back of his trunk before slamming the lid shut. “However, allow me to pose another question.”
He turned to face them with his fists on his hips. “Do you love obeying them?”
At that Dipper and Mabel went wide eyed and took turns shaking their heads and tilting their hands as they mumbled indifferent and uncertain ‘mehs’ and ‘sometimes’ followed by ‘not really’.
Ford felt a smirk curve his lips as he chuckled.
“An interesting answer. Now get in the car, we have a long journey ahead.”
As the twins both climbed into the car (after arguing over who got shotgun to which Mabel won over a game of rock-paper-scissors) Dipper couldn’t help groaning under his breath from the backseat, “Why do you have to live eight hours away? My legs are going to be numb by the time we get there.
Ford didn’t say anything as he waited for them to both finish buckling in before turning on the ignition and pulling out of the driveway.
“Yes, eight hours can be a moderately taxing drive.” he chuckled, before adding, “which is why we shall be flying.”
Dipper and Mabel both perked up at that, Dipper raising a confused brow as Mabel tilted her head to ask, “Flying?”
Ford glanced at her from the corner of his eye and grinned.
“We’re not going to Gravity Falls. Not right now at least. I have found something interesting that I wish to investigate. Next stop: Europe! Dublin specifically.”
“...does this have anything to do with great uncle Stanley?” Dipper asked, perturbed.
Ford fell silent as he stared ahead at the open road.
The quiet awkwardly filled the car as Mabel glanced back at her brother via the rearview mirror, the both of them making a face of worry. After an extended and tense moment, Mabel perked up, her chest puffing out as she threw a thumb at the center of it.
“Well, I don’t know about you two, but I’ve always wanted to see a leprechaun!”
The tension instantly vanished as Ford chuckled again and Dipper rolled his eyes.
“Leprechauns aren’t real,” her brother sighed.
Mabel instantly went into a pout.
“You don’t know that! I bet they are, and that their gold is really those chocolate coins that the stores sell on halloween! Oh, oh! And! They bleed sprinkles and sneeze rainbows!”
“What? You can’t be serious Mabel.” Dipper groused at his sister’s whimsy.
As they both started to go back and forth, Ford felt his heart skip a beat as elation warmed his chest from the inside out. The kids may have been a bit apprehensive, but now that they were warming up to the idea of traveling abroad he couldn’t help thinking how lucky he was.
Dipper and Mabel were not going to hinder his search after all by forcing him to be in one place for an extended period of time (wasting precious minutes—minutes that could be life or death for Stanley wherever he was), and were sure to be a great asset to him with Dipper’s logic and Mabel’s ability to think outside the box. In time at least, once they’d gotten used to everything and he’d had time to explain the theory of weirdness to them.
Clearly, he’d have to work on Dipper’s logic and how it could be applied to the abnormal, because leprechauns were indeed real, and were ALWAYS cranky. And also work with Mabel on how to convey her creative ideas in a proper way, as sometimes they bordered on nonsensical.
But those were just small, trivial details that could be handled another day.
First things first, was making sure they were both comfortable during this trip. He wanted them to enjoy it and get a taste for adventuring just as he had, and to want to do this when the opportunity came to visit him. He wanted them to not regret taking a risk by trusting him like they just had and going along with it when he mentioned the change of plans.
Ford may have misled their parents on what he and the kids would be doing, but he had been truthful about how much they both meant to him and the care that he felt towards their wellbeing.
He glanced over again as the dappled light from passing trees danced across the interior of the car, his gaze raking over both the twins as they dissolved into giggles and laughter over something concerning dorito chips and hot sauce. How they got on that topic he hadn’t a clue but he couldn’t help laughing along as Mabel listed off how hot sauce was a better dip than nacho cheese.
….he was certain that Stanley would have adored them, just as he did.
He focused on driving again and took a turn towards the private airport he’d booked with Fiddleford right after his conversation with Lee and Abigail.
The sight of the plane already waiting on the runway gradually greeted him like a beacon of light through darkness as he slowly crested the rolling hill of freshly dewed grass and graveled dirt towards the tarmac.
Everything would be fine, Ford reassured himself.
He just hoped Dipper and Mabel were able to keep a secret.
Gravity Falls AU: 7alt8 - Fiddleford McGucket
Tumblr media
Vikings were farmers XD at least a few were lol And that kinda inspired this look for good ol' Fidds! Unlike his OG self, in 7alt8 he was never married having never met Emma-may, and actually met Ford during a semester when Ford and a few of his classmates went to Backupsmore University to present a series of lectures in Hyper-Advanced Engineering at the dean's request.
Impressed with Fiddleford's knowledge and how easily he kept up with his talk on 'Quantum Entanglement And Calculus: Polycued Dynamics', Ford tried to get Fiddleford accepted into West Tech but was ultimately denied. In the end Ford became close with Fiddleford and would visit him often while offering to provide him with advanced studies that Fiddleford couldn't get at Backupsmore, leading to a lifelong friendship. Despite the incident that caused the scar that Fidds received during one of their projects, they both have remained close confidantes and trusting partners having gone so far as to set up their residences in the same town of Gravity Falls together.
Fiddleford is still a country boy through and through, still plays the banjo and chews tabaco but does it on rare occasion. Due to his medication he tends to speak with a deadpan or bluntness that makes people question when he's serious or joking (Ford is usually able to tell the difference though even he sometimes struggles). He also gets along with Mabel and Dipper well, treating them like the kids he never had (which leads to some pretty hilarious awkwardness sometimes when he wants their attention), and taught them how to hunt and fish. Due to his condition he doesn't like traveling much and so rarely leaves his home, preferring to aid the pines family from a distance with their inventive needs.
Gravity Falls AU - 7alt8: Stanford Pines
Tumblr media
May I present 7alt8's Ford!
I don't know about anyone else but I love me a good nerdy explorer look, and while I love OG Ford's trench coat and style to death, I wanted to shake it up for what Ford might have gone with taste wise if he'd gotten to go to his posh ivy league school XD (I think suspenders are hot too and I'll fight anyone who disagrees lol feel free to rag on the loafers tho jk)
Comparatively to OG, this Ford is still very much a badass explorer but he's more world traveled and knowledgeable thanks to his journeying and his occasional semesters abroad while he was still in West Tech... before he dropped out upon learning that Stan had gone missing.
He has no formal accreditations but can speak 13 languages including 5 dead/extinct ones, and is actually very wealthy thanks to many scientific patents he's turned in over the years and (unofficially recognized) theses he's published, though he chooses to live humbly.
While the same age as his twin, Ford's birthday is June 15th while Stanley's is June 16th. Ford was born 7 minutes before midnight and Stanley 8 minutes after midnight. And sorry folks but Ford is a muscle prince, Stan is still the chubby king
In canon, Ford is better at fighting than Stan, since I think that was pretty much established in that scene where he easily overpowers Stan after he comes back from the portal, and Alex said once that he believed that sober Ford would always win in a fight between them, because Ford has the formal training and Stan just has the madness. But what about in 7alt8? 7alt8!Stan would be able to win against 7alt8!Ford in a fight?
Oh absolutely 7alt8!Stan could win against 7alt8!Ford, depending on how the fight plays out. Especially if he's the one able to throw the first punch because 9 times out of 10 he never misses, and once he gets that first jab he doesn't let up
Sorry I'm about to ramble a little ^^;
In 7alt8 Stan and Ford are actually pretty matched in terms of ability given that Ford has been fighting monsters and struggling to survive in his adventuring, so he isn't rusty or anything. Just like how OG Ford got by in his interdimensional travels, only with less life or death risk as he isn't trying to get by 24/7, and does have a home in Gravity Falls that he can retreat to for a bit at a time - which means not as put through the ringer as OG Ford or having experienced the paranoia and desperation that I'm sure really honed OG Ford into a living weapon basically. He's had the ability to run away to guaranteed safety when absolutely necessary.
7alt8!Stan as I stated in a previous ask has been training in combat since he was seventeen. He actually has the advantage of strategy when fighting given he's trained with interdimensional beings, both the henchmaniacs and various others that Bill has sent him after in other worlds, giving him a sense of combative creativity. He basically is like OG Ford but worse, as his life wasn't always on the line so he was able to really take advantage of learning special techniques and where and how to hurt someone the most from terrible and powerful entities, over and over again till he got it right
If you take away the danger of Stan's gloves which have the madness toxin coating the spikes (a toxin which mind breaks a person for up to 72 hours when it gets into the blood and makes them disoriented and crazed) and have him just going fisticuffs, then I feel they're pretty evenly matched so long as 7alt8!Ford manages to dodge or deflect/parry more hits than he takes (the ones he can see coming that is)
7alt8!Ford would have to outlast 7alt8!Stan more than anything in order to win while making sure he doesn't take more than one or two hits at a time, as the only advantage he really has is he has more stamina while Stan has more strength. He's had more cadio than Stan has, as running from danger when needed is more aerobic than boxing/fighting (when something is aerobic you can actually do it for longer periods of time), and he's done that plenty of times that he could parkour his way out of a maze if pushed without breaking a sweat XD Stan though could break a brick wall with enough force if he wanted. I feel just three consecutive hits would be enough to knock Ford prone if not knock him out completely so yeah ^^;
