feeling INTENSE imposter syndrome as the resident Media Analysis Gal of the small doctor who fandom subsection on here that i’m active in, because i feel like i’ve been replaced by somebody incredibly thick with zero media literacy or ability to interpret filmic language. literally 0 capacity for thought. i didn’t get it. i should be writing metas like mad right now but i’m not. kitty, the girl who was scrawling breakdowns of ghost light and heaven sent with ease, has nothing to say. i liked it but i feel like there’s an impenetrable barrier between being able to pick apart the symbolism and metaphors and imagery and whatnot like i usually do and whatever the hell this episode was. maybe the barrier is 73 yards away. maybe i can never reach it. maybe the episode is designed to be impenetrable, intractable, untranslatable, because it’s dream logic, it’s supposed to speak to us on a deeper level than words? idk. good job russell you’ve well and truly stumped me
