Durham Indicts Another Confederate in Russian Hoax

LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Nov. 4, 2021.--Special Counsel 71-year-old Atty. John Durham indicted his third suspect in his investigation into the origin of the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation of 75-year-old former President Donald Trump. Durham indicted former Brookings Institution analyst Russian-born Igor Danchenko, a source of salacious material to former MI6 agent Christopher Steele’s Dossier. Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton bought-and-paid through law firm Perkins Cole and opposition research firm FusionGPS the so-called Steele Dossier that linked Trump to the Russian government in his 2016 campaign for president. Democrats and their friends in the media supported the wild ideas from the Steele Dossier that Trump was a Russian asset, working with the Kremlin to win the 2016 presidential election. Hillary blamed her loss to Trump Nov. 3, 2016, among other things, on Trump’s ties to Russia.

Danchenko told the FBI in 2017 that Trump was a Russian asset, prompting the FBI to open up a counterintelligence investigation, including going to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act [FISA] Court to obtain warrants to wiretap former Trump campaign aid Carter Page. Durham already indicted and convicted former FBI Atty. Kevin Clinesmith to altering an email that omitted the fact that Page worked for the CIA. Had the FISA Court known that Page was a CIA asset, they would not have issued a warrant to the FBI to wiretap him. FBI “devoted substantial resources attempting to investigate and corroborate the allegations” in the dossier. Dannhenko failed to tell FBI agents that he worked for a public relations executive with close ties to the Hillary campaign. Durham’s indictment said Danchenko’s subterfuge sent the FBI down a endless rabbit hole.

Danchenko’s allegation involved unverified activity by Trump with alleged prostitutes in 2015 in an unidentified Moscow hotel. Durham’s indictment alleges that Dnschenko told the FBI “well-developed conspiracy of co-operation” between Trump and the Russian government. Durham contends that Daschenko’s accounts were pure fabrications, not based on any unverified phone calls from secret sources. Democrats and the press accuse Durham of political bias, when, in fact, he’s trying to expose one of the egregious government conspiracies in U.S. history. Why was 61-year-old former FBI Director James Comey opening a counterintelligence investigation of Trump and his 2016 campaign when it was based on the now discredited Steele Dossier, something Hillary used as opposition research to defeat Trump in 2016? Daschenko was caught by Durham feeding the FBI utter rubbish.

Even today, Democrats and the fake news media continue to believe that the case against former President Trump with his alleged Russian ties. “But the dossier had no part in launching the Trump-Russia investigation,” said the Associated Press today, in a shameless distortion of the facts. Former FBI Director James Comey and Special Counsel Robert Mueller relied heavily on the wild, unverified and manipulated claims made in the Steele Dossier. Fake news must continue the deception about the Steele Dossier to justify years of fake reporting all to harm Trump politically. Yet know that Durham’s exposing one of the most shameful conspiracies in U.S. history, Democrats and the fake new continue the deception. Durham’s indictment traces Danchenko to a hotel room where a Hillary political operative fed him the rubbish about Trump peeing on prostitutes in a hotel room.

Danchenko told the FBI he met with the president of the Russian-American chamber of commerce who fed him the information about Trump. Danchenko knew that he received his rubbish from a Hillary political operative. When you consider that Steele himself admitted in a court proceeding in London that all sources to his dossier were destroyed, it left little doubt that the entire document was fabricated for purely political purposes. Democrats and the media hang on to the rubbish because they used it for all of Trump’s years in office to prove he wasn’t fit for a second term. Now they’re coming to grips with years or deception and lies, all done for politics. Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz told the FBI in 2017 that the Dossier had “potentially serious problems with Steele’s descriptions of information in his reports.” That didn’t stop Democrats and the media from repeating the lies.

Durham’s hard work looks like it’s paying off with former Justice Department Atty. Michael Sussman indicted for failing to tell the FBI that he worked for Perkins Cole the Washington law firm Hillary used to promote the Steele Dossier. Sussmann told the FBI that Trump had a secret server tied to Russia’s Alfa Bank, failing to mention he worked for the Hillary campaign. Durham’s current indictments indicate that he’s getting closer to indicting the ‘big boys,” including Comey and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, both of whom were actively involved in getting warrants from the FISA Court to wiretap Trump’s campaign associates. Whether Durham fingers former Obama administration officials, including former CIA Director John Brennan or former National Security Adviser Susan Rice is anyone’s guess. With every indictment, Durham gets closer to unwrapping the conspiracy.

WandaVision Scores First Major Emmy Nominations for Marvel

The Television Academy released its nominations for the 73rd annual Emmy Awards today and they included some good news for a fledgling little TV studio named Marvel.

Marvel Studios’ first Disney+ effort, WandaVision, was nominated for 23 awards, including Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series (Elizabeth Olsen), Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series (Paul Bettany), and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series (Kathryn Hahn).

Marvel’s second Disney+ offering, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, scored one nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series (Don Cheadle). Note that Falcon was submitted as a Drama (implying the possibility of future seasons), while WandaVision was submitted as limited. The third Disney+ series, Loki, falls outside of this season’s eligibility window for the Emmys.

The characters and stories of Marvel comics have been present on television for many years now, dating back to the premiere of ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in 2013. That was followed by other series, spread out over several streaming services and networks, like Netflix’s The Defenders universe, Runaways on Hulu, and Inhumans on ABC.

With the premiere of WandaVision on January 15 this year, however, Marvel Studios czar Kevin Feige brought characters and continuity from the franchise’s film world to television. The story of Wanda Maximoff (Olsen) and The Vision’s (Bettany) mysterious sitcom-tinged sojourn to suburbia was well-received and culminated in these nominations.

Though Marvel Studios is one of the most powerful pop culture entities on the planet right now, it hasn’t traditionally enjoyed much awards success. To date, Black Panther is the only Marvel film to take home an Oscar (Best Costume Design, Best Original Score, Best Production Design) and to receive a nomination for the coveted Best Picture category.

Ultimately, this year’s Emmy nominations contain plenty of good news for geeks and Disney shareholders alike. While WandaVision made waves in breaking the Emmy seal for Marvel, its Disney cousin The Mandalorian received the most nominations of any show with 24 (tied with Netflix drama series The Crown).

Den of Geek favorites The Queen’s Gambit, The Boys, Cobra Kai, Ted Lasso, Lovecraft Country, and Bridgerton all secured major nominations.

HBO/HBO Max leads the nominations in totals by platform with 130. Netflix has the second-most nominations with 129, and rounding out the top four are Disney+ with 71 and NBC with 46.

The 73rd Emmy Awards will be hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and will be broadcast on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS. The ceremony ill be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. The 2021 Creative Arts Awards will be broadcast on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on FXX.

Will Smith's 10 Best Movies, According To Rotten Tomatoes

His last few movies have been panned by critics – from the ones that still found box office success, like Suicide Squad and Aladdin, to the ones that very few moviegoers even know exist, like Focus and Collateral Beauty – so it can easy to forget how awesome Will Smith is.

For someone who moved from rap artist to sitcom star to film actor, he’s given some terrific performances. Smith has starred in a lot of extravagant sci-fi blockbusters, but he’s appeared in just as many powerful dramas that shed light on significant social issues. So, here are Will Smith’s 10 Best Movies, According To Rotten Tomatoes.

10 Independence Day (65%)

Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day is seen as a turning point in the course of the Hollywood blockbuster, just like Jaws and Star Wars were in the 1970s. It didn’t take too long to become one of the highest grossing movies of all time. Emmerich and his producing partner Dean Devlin noticed that in most alien invasion movies, the aliens travel all the way to Earth, only to hide when they get there.

So, they decided to make a big-budget movie where aliens plan a large-scale attack against our planet. That led to iconic shots like the White House getting blown up by an alien spaceship and Will Smith punching an alien and saying, “Welcome to Earth!”

9 TIE: Ali (67%)

Will Smith’s turn as Muhammad Ali, arguably the greatest and most influential boxer of all time, is the best thing about this Michael Mann-directed biopic. Although its runtime drags on at 157 minutes and the script doesn’t have any of the boxing legend’s signature humor or passion, Smith is compelling from start to finish.

The movie is also rooted in interesting historical context, touching on the impact of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassinations. He famously bulked up for the role and went on to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Ali.

8 TIE: The Pursuit of Happyness (67%)

Long before Will Smith’s collaborations with his son Jaden Smith became shameless exercises in nepotism, they gave the world this poignant story of a father and son struggling to make it in a failing economy. It’s the true story of entrepreneur Chris Gardner’s year-long stint of homelessness while raising a toddler.

Gardner initially objected to the casting of Smith, since he was known for making big Hollywood blockbusters. However, his daughter changed his mind when she told him, “If he can play Muhammad Ali, he can play you!” Smith went on to receive nominations for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his performance.

7 TIE: Hitch (68%)

This romantic comedy about a dating guru makes the unlikely pairing of Will Smith and Kevin James work. It’s also far better than the average Hollywood romcom, despite having all the standard clichés and pitfalls, mainly thanks to Smith’s charm in the lead role and his chemistry with his female co-star Eva Mendes.

The only shame is that, while the first act sets up the premise nicely and the second act successfully builds on it with engaging plotting, the third and final act falls into the kind of typical romcom ending that can be seen coming from a mile away.

6 TIE: Men in Black III (68%)

The third Men in Black movie was far better than it had any right to be. It opened with an intergalactic prisoner named Boris escaping and bringing his wrath to Earth. Since it was too late to prevent the invasion, Agent J was sent back in time to the 1960s to prevent it. This was a great way to explore Agent K’s past and also give an aging Tommy Lee Jones a break from the action.

The young Agent K was played by Josh Brolin, who gave an astounding turn that, on at least a few occasions, made you forget that you weren’t actually watching a version of Tommy Lee Jones from the past. Of course, Will Smith continues to be the anchor of this franchise.

5 TIE: I Am Legend (68%)

The first half of I Am Legend sees Will Smith coping in a post-apocalyptic wasteland that was once New York City as the last man on Earth in a world infested with bloodthirsty vampiric creatures that come out at night. He lost his family and all he has left in this eerily empty world is his canine sidekick.

The film’s downfall comes in the second half, in which he realizes he isn’t actually the last man on Earth after all and there’s a sanctuary full of people that he has to sacrifice his own life to get his new friends to.

4 Enemy of the State (71%)

This riveting political thriller revolves around a team of shady NSA agents who conspire to assassinate a Congressman and then fight to cover it up when a tape of the murder shows up and could go public. Although it was released years before the 9/11 attacks, the introduction of the Patriot Act, and the Edward Snowden leaks, Enemy of the State has been praised for commenting on issues of national security and the death of privacy.

Will Smith and Gene Hackman make for a compelling lead duo in Enemy of the State, which was directed by the late, great Tony Scott.

3 Where the Day Takes You (80%)

This poignant drama about the struggles of teenage runaways in Los Angeles was the film debut of Will Smith. Smith plays an amputee who is friends with the lead character, King. The 1992 movie’s ensemble cast contained a number of soon-to-be stars, including Dermot Mulroney, Sean Astin, Lara Flynn Boyle, Kyle MacLachlan, and Alyssa Milano.

Where the Day Takes You was drawn from a beautifully personal screenplay written by Michael Hitchcock based on his experiences working at a shelter for teenage runaways in Hollywood. The movie throws all kinds of obstacles and threats at its kids to add to the tragedy: drug addiction, prostitution, gang violence.

2 Six Degrees of Separation (88%)

Despite his background in comedy, it’s Will Smith’s more dramatic work that tends to get more attention from the critics. In this film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play of the same name by John Guare (who was also recruited to write the movie’s screenplay, making for an all-round faithful on-screen translation that lives up to the source material), Smith plays Paul, one of the lead roles.

Paul was based on real-life con man and thief David Hampton, who convinced people he was the son of acting legend Sidney Poitier, and Smith is cast delightfully against type in the role.

1 Men in Black (92%)

What else would be Will Smith’s best-reviewed movie? Men in Black is the quintessential Will Smith movie. It has the perfect balance of humor, heart, and spectacle as a rogue cop is recruited into a secret government agency that routinely protects Earth from alien attacks.

Smith works best as the relatable everyman, and that’s exactly what he is here. He’s a fish out of water in the MIB’s world of futuristic gadgets and normalized communication with extraterrestrials, and he also acts as the outsider who guides us into that world. None of the sequels have lived up to the greatness of the original.

ok so last summer, i was hanging out with my bff @taegdcl1018, and she lives by the playground so we went to hang out there. it was real chill, swinging and listening to music and stuff. and when i got up and started walking, there was A BEE ON MY SHIRT. so i screamed, and started wigging out, and of course brooklyn is like ‘girl chill’ (and tbh bees don’t scare me that much) anyways, this bee is still on my shirt, and im running around, and it’s still stuck on it. and THAT my sweeties, is how i took my shirt off in a public playground. NO WORRIES THO! there was no one around besides me and my bff, and she gave me her over shirt thingy before we left. (also, it’s still difficult for me to wear that shirt. it’s like i have PTSD)
