I don't really like the fact that cheritz made a dlc for jumin's bad ending :(

I mean we already had to deal with players who just saw jumin as his bad ending and then they come up with this 😔

I'm actually kinda disappointed tbh💔

Like I'm excited for saeran's ae and jaehee's bday and I have always wished for a jumin dlc, but I didn't mean it like that... Now a lot more old and new players will misunderstand jumin's character and only view him as kinky and such :(

It is specifically meant as a bad ending DLC continuation, so I’d like to think that people will recognize it’s not his true ending or how he normally behaves simply because of that. The announcement also made vague mention of showing off Jaehee’s “dark side”, too, so if we get some Dark Jaehee DLC alongside the Dark Jumin story (it sounds like we might get a mini playable thing, rather than just one scene?) it might help underline that.

That said, it was never really that bad as bad endings go. It gets unfair criticism amongst the half of the fandom that doesn’t like it - especially those who use it as a weapon against Jumin - as people act like he’s kidnapped the MC and it’s not a consensual unsafe bdsm relationship. At least with the DLC, Jumin’s good name can be cleansed some by expanding it into what appears to be some weird kinky 50SoG-esque romance exploring a version of the romance where Jumin doesn’t quit or rededicate his life. (or it will go the opposite direction and make everything worse) And to be perfectly fair, Jumin is, undeniably, kinky. He’s just less ‘daddy master kink’ than certain parts of fandom thinks.

Personally I’d have preferred it to be BE1 we explored, but alas, fandom wants that pseudo-H content, of which I feel like it’s going to be very hard to really explore without pushing up the game rating if the DLC is of any decent length.

I do think, though, that if this DLC is popular it will be the doorway to other ones. Not a whole lot of those bad endings are as playable as Jumin’s first two bad ends, but there’s a few options out there to be the new ‘valentines day and after ending’ bonus contents for characters, and it opens the door to ‘alternate path’ DLCs. It could be a net positive, because the alternative is that Cheritz is going to be forced to give up on the game completely and move on to a new cashcow unrelated to Mysme entirely.

But if it isn’t, then....

Well.

Jumin’s gonna end up being ‘the only guy that bad ended so hard he got a whole DLC about it. And it was kinky.’ - that’ll be pretty unbearable dealing with fandom. Even if it would mean in a roundabout way that Jumin actually surpassed 707′s popularity in fandom.

My confusions with the Mystic Messenger / Questions that I still wonder

This will be a long post so you can either suffer with my mumbles or just ignore this post also. If I said something stupid pls forgive me cause I still try my best to replay each routes again to understand much better but I is soooo busy T_T and I really hate it if V and Rika had a convo, like, can’t they talk normal like the way we talk? T_T

1)What happened in V route after Ray bombed the builing? Did he died in their or Unknown took his body and esaped?

2)In the prologue, Ray introduced the game, sending the old start image with all RFA members with it, does it mean he was aware of the game? Then suddenly if we continued playing the game, suddenly V will appear and everything will be real and MC will be like “Oh so you aren’t an AI. You’re REAL?!” (i think i have to play the route again but the photo Ray sent really bothers me T_T)

3)Ray was able to describe each RFA member like he knows about them and he knows their character settings. I forgot which chat room was it. I have the feeling Ray is also aware of the game….BUT THEN AGAIN, as we continue with the game, MC will be like “OMG YOU ARE A REAL THING” -_-

4)If we ask Ray about the bad ending, he will response with “the game will be over and it will be boring and don’t worry we can repeat again.” REPEAT AGAIN. So he is also aware of the RESET. And talking of the repeat, if all the RFA members are real, it means they should not be controlled yet if we reset all their memories will also reset and it will go back with MC intruding their chats again. SO repeat huh? So we play again and RFA will never knew about it.

5)Before you purchase V route, it states “the story is 2 YEARS PRIOR TO THE ORIGINAL STORY” and the title is ANOTHER STORY, I’m so confused with 2 years prior, so the RFA has already met MC 2 years before, or if we play V route, it will be 2 years from the game so it will be a different timeline and different  world?

6)Seven was always aware of the game. But in V route, he acts as a normal game character. I haven’t seen him break the fourth wall. In casual and deep route, he immediately hacked MC’s location but in V route he had hard time. If we get to Yoosung’s route, he will warn us that Yoosung is a yandere and DON’T TALK ABOUT MC’S ABOUT WHEN IN YOOSUNG’S ROUTE, okay what past? huh? We will get a lot of Seven’s breaking the 4th wall in deep route and casual route. But in V route? NAAAAH. And that wonders me.

7)If we put in order the routes of the game. Another Story and Deep/Casual, we can clearly see the difference between Ray and Unknown. But for me, it was not only Saeran has changed, but Seven also. Seven is so flirty at V route and I REALLY LIKED THE V ROUTE BCOS WE GET SEVEN FLIRTING A LOT THEIR (lol), yet the first time he met MC he is soft, not the “Don’t bother me! Just watch over V, I am dangerous! SO.STAY.AWAY!” =_=. OH! Jumin also feels different in V route, like seriosly? A vampire? Udon? Jumin? As far as I can remember if we joke about the party or not taking it seriously, Jumin will be like “you think this is a joke biatcch?! how lowly human are you that you can’t even remember what’s your purpose here?” and yeah, Jumin.. is he serious?

8)Wtf not only vampire and udon but Pluto? And a dragon? Why Jumin and Seven? How can they join the party?

9)Casual route bad ending is Yoosung saying that “talking to robots is boring right?” and even mentions that Rika has warned him that V and Seven controls them and will dispose if they try to break the fourth wall. So they are also aware? cause Jaehee will be like “Next time, you should choose.. (something, forgotten)” so! what? WHAT?

10)I don’t know if DLC’s are included but in April Fools, the good ending is the RFA celebrating Zen’s bday and Seven will chat thanking MC for helping Zen not going crazy in his dream. SOOOOO.. he knew that Zen is dreaming weird stuffs. My point is.. we control MC  so we get to chat Zen in his weird dream. And obviously, Zen is the one dreaming so Zen can only know what his dream is about. But in the end Seven will say “707 loves you! thank you for helping Zen: oh so Zen was under maintainance i think? Bcos if we compare the GE to the NE, there is no chatroom (i think) of Seven talking about Zen’s dream. Then Zen will realize that he is within the game, that he loves the person beyond the screen.. and that is US~~~, so i think that in the GE, Seven fails to stop Zen realizing his surrounding. I dnt know it confuses me at all.

11)In Jumin’s AE, everyone is happy. But what intrigues me the most was how V and Seven settled? Like, we knew how Seven is sensitive when it comes to Saeran that he is SUPERLLLLLY DEPRESSED when he found out about his brother and then pooof! they settled already. What? Did the scene goes like this? Seven:V! I need you to tell the truth about my brother! Why was he like that?!! V:Calm down Saeyoung, Saeran was just in phase. Seven:oright phew, okay we chill nao.

12)In the valentine dlc of Seven,he mentions that their will be more interesting game to come (uhhh.. lynn’s project??) … and in the white choco he says “We will meet again int another universe” AND OH! before we get the ending, he will invite you to watch the ending together with him … SO HE WAS WATCHING ALSO? =-= so is the real life Saeyoung playing as Seven in MM  also and we play as MC ?

13)The opening song also intrigues me!

Everyday morning i wake up to the same sweet sound picking up my cellphone that’s been ringing (oh wait that is me O3O waking up hearing the MM’s notif lol)

Wondering what's new? What have I missed? I was offline. (oh I always wonder what is the new chat room and what have i missed bcos i was sleeeeeeeping and i sometimes miss the 3AM chats, cause seriously =-=)

14)ONE BUT THE MOST SUSPICIOUS OF ALL IS ..... VANDERWOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, he is LAY LO but HE IS ALWAYS THERE HE IS EVERYWHERE LIKE IN EVERY MAIN EVENTS OF THE STORY OR SOMETHING CLIMAX HAPPENING HE IS ALWAYS THERE!!! == Echo girl or Sarah are also side characters but they only appear in routes but Vanderwoood .... HE IS THEEEERE. EVERYYYYY ROUTE. HE DOES NOT DISAPPEAR. Why would Cheritz even bother putting him in every messy situation, right? So Vanderwood really is the thing here. (also looks like Tei_) (also I’m a broke ass student that can’t afford to play the 2 other games so pls forgive me if this post does not make sense)

Obsession: Mystic Messenger Valentine’s Day After Endings

First off, this new opening menu is cute as fuck.

Side note: I’ve been so busy I still haven’t finished all of the Christmas Special Endings.

So basically, this Valentine’s themed “event” is basically an After Ending on Valentine’s Day. Because it’s an After Ending, it’s a quick story to get into. I’ve been stressed lately so this has really gotten my mood pumped up.

It’s 20 HG per Valentine’s Day After Endings so you need a total of 100 HG to unlock all endings.

I’m assuming that if you’re reading this you’ve at least done through the game once up until the After Endings so any spoilers from before the after endings will not be crossed off.

So first off, I unlocked 707′s VDAE. Seven actually has 2 types of endings in his (that I know of so far). For the first one I chose to go the kinky route and the second one is more of a soft ending.

Seven’s VDAE takes you on a tour that’s designed like a game quest. You can refuse the “quests” (not that you’d want to) but the storyline will move forward as Seven will refuse your refusal. LOL.

If you choose the wrong answer for the “quest”. you’ll go to that character’s place but no one will be there. Eventually, it’ll lead you to the right place.

The quest takes you to Jaehee → Jumin → Zen → Yoosung → Seven. You get a present at each character and depending on what you choose to reply to them it’ll ultimately choose one of the two endings Seven has. The CGs you get from the tour is actually in the common album.

The first ending (dark chocolate ending) I went through was sort of a kinky one where it hinted that the relationship was vanilla and MC wanted Seven to be “more rough”. (The options were really obvious that MC wanted kinky so obviously even though it was a first time, I’d pick the kinky options.) The ending is basically he takes you home and gives you the “rough” night you’ve always wanted. *INTERNALLY SCREAMING MY HEART OUT. WE FINALLY GET A KINKY SEVEN. I absolutely love this ending.

The second ending (white chocolate ending) is a softer more typical romance ending where the relationship is seen as all happy and mellow. In the end, Seven takes the MC out dancing under the stars. A little too soft for my liking but still cute none the less.

In both endings (technically once the ending is finished), Seven actually breaks the 4th wall. It was kind of obvious from the choices that there were two endings but this really confirmed it. He asks if you were satisfied with the ending and that you can choose the other options for either a “sweeter” (white chocolate) or “bitter sweet“ (dark chocolate) ending.

Both of Seven's CGs seem to be in a different art style than that from the main storyline.

Next I went to Jumin’s VDAE. Since it’s an after ending, basically, Jumin and MC are married. The story starts off with MC going round the house and reminiscing about everything (ie. closet, window, bookshelf, etc.). It turns out that Jumin is actually on a business trip.

You get a call from Jumin and then the phone rings again. You can choose not to answer but it’ll keep ringing so you’ll have to pick it up anways. It turns out to be Zen. Zen is blasting Jumin for not being there on Valentine’s Day and assures you that feeling lonely is fine. You’re then super lonely and suddenly Jumin comes home with loads of gifts. He’s tired but you’re still super cuddly and happy.

It was a cute ending. I don’t seem to be seeing 2 endings for Jumin but of the two options, you either call him “Jumin” or “honey”. Honestly, when you call him “honey”, MC appears to be more loving and less superficial than when MC calls him “Jumin”.

Jumn’s first CG seems to be in the original style but the second one seems like the newer art style.

Zen’s VDAE feels kind of long. Or maybe it’s just me since I’m not that into him.

We start off with seeing Zen in a chocolate commercial. Then comes on a news channel that like usual tries to put him in a scandal. Even though they know MC is Zen’s girlfriend, they keep saying they’re broken up because they haven’t been seen in public. Though it’s because of Zen’s contract they haven’t been out and about. MC gets jealous (MC’s jealousy is really taking a toll here when one of the options is to break the TV) but gives Zen chocolates.

Zen then leads MC back to the RFA apartment (though MC has been living with Zen) where Zen had a surprise waiting. Zen then talks about their marriage being put on hold because of problems with his parents (so yeah, I haven’t really been focused on Zen that much so I might be out of the loop with his story). Zen and MC then have a heart to heart talk about his fame and what not.

Then it gets to the kinky portion with melted chocolate. Love this ending. Not so much the story but that’s probably because I’m not that into Zen.

On a side note, the first CG seems to be coherent with the art style but the second CG is the newer art style that I don’t quite like.

Yoosung’s VDAE is actually refreshing. Yoosung has a totally new look! He actually has gotten more mature.

Since it’s an AE, they’re married and Yoosung is a vet so I suppose it’s only right that Yoosung has gotten more mature. But since we don’t see this often it’s really refreshing. I’m really liking his new look. I’ve always hated his old hair.

His voice has also gotten more mature. Even he himself noticed it.

The concept for the story is Yoosung and MC recreating their first date. It’s hilarious as Yoosung tries to recreate their first date but he keeps slipping up.

They go to the movies then a picnic in the park. A lost dog then comes crashing in and Yoosung shows off his skills as a vet by taming the dog and both MC and Yoosung bring the dog back to its owner.

After the fiasco, they completely forgot about their play date but Yoosung ended up giving 11 roses to MC. Super cute ending.

Yoosung’s CG are like the originals. The new art style isn’t used here.

Jaehee’s VDAE starts off in the shop. (AHHH MY HEART IS TORN. I just saw Yoosung being so mature and handsome as fuck and now he’s back to being derpy...) The shop is doing well and Yoosung is Jumin’s assistant now I guess (even though he’s labeled an intern).

Jaehee is still a workaholic but this time it’s shop related. The shop has problems with the pastries so MC and Jaehee is trying to make a new cake but get themselves locked in a storage room. Yoosung comes to their rescue and their cake is just fine.

Because it’s a friendship route, the ending is so so. It’s meh. I’m not really into Jaehee either so it was an okay ending for me.

Jaehee has 3 CGs. The first 2 has consistent artwork but the last one is of the newer style.

I really don’t like the new styles. I wonder why they keep changing it. It’s kind of annoying.

Since there are more CGs to complete but I haven’t finished every single album yet, I’ll just put a  ♡ next to the completed Valentine’s Day CGs. The ✔ is to mark if the original album is completed. I’ll also add how many Valentine’s Day CGs there are to not be confused with ones you should get from the regular game.

There’s a total of 16(?) new CGs. The reason why there’s a ? next to 16 is because there are no extra endings in the Secret Endings but V’s album has popped up one extra CG spot. It’s a normal black square with a grey ? even though the other albums have a pink rose and ribbon square for CG spots from the VDAE. However, the Christmas special did have a glitch in which a couple of boxes remained a grey ? instead of a red checkered snowflake box.

Obsession: Mystic Messenger 2017 April Fool’s Special

So I haven’t been able to even finish the all of the endings of the Christmas Special yet even though it’s way past Christmas (2 days X 8 Endings = 16 days man. It’s not as long as a normal route [11 days] but still). However this one seems doable.

Hmm... I think Zen is suppose to be Venus here? hmm... Seems very muscular LOL.

Since this is a special, it’ll be in the special section of the main menu - right next to the Christmas special.

This AF’s DLC costs 60 HG to unlock. Seriously, by now, I’m just saving up HG so that I’d always have at least 100 HG on hand for these DLC surprises.

As you go along the story, you’d find more CGs but this time, they have their own April Fool’s Album. There’s a total of 23 new CGs and from what I’ve seen so far, It’s a mixture of real life pictures and character artwork. The character artwork also seems to be of the original style (by original I mean the artwork is consistent with the original game route style instead of a newer artwork style that has been appearing with the Christmas DLC and Valentines AEs).

There’s 3 endings so completing it will take 3 days. I don’t exactly have time for it today (I’m suppose to be doing a report but you know, procrastination) so I decided to just let it miss all the chats and see what ending I get. Surely, it’s one of 3 endings.

Edit: I thought since it was only 1 day with 3 endings, it’ll take up to 3 days. I was wrong. It takes up to 5 days. I wrote down why below under the “extra” section.

Basically, Zen’s birthday is on April Fool’s day. The chat log pertains to Zen and how he deals with a change in his perception of reality (he thinks he’s dreaming). Besides Zen, the characters starts out in 3D form (like the CGs are all real life pictures instead of just drawn artwork). Yoosung’s a talking omelette, Jaehee’s a talking elextric kettle, Jumin is literally a cat, and 707 is a cardboard craft doll.

You have one of these endings:

1. Normal Ending: Just don’t participate in any chat rooms or say the photos are real. Though reading the past chats, it’s a bit weird since MC occasionally has a message popped up even though I didn’t press anything. At the end of the storyline, he “crossed over dimensions” from a drawn artwork to a 3D bust head only to find out that all the members are “normal” again and he’s the only weird one. [The last CG of the last chatroom had me cracking up.]

2. Normal Ending: This is if you take the other member's side and make Zen believe everything strange that’s going on is the norm. Convince him that they’re in another dimension. In the end, it’s very sad as Zen realizes MC and him can’t be together.

3. Good Ending: So basically this is if you keep trying to keep Zen sane and not playing along with the other members. (Seven kinds of breaks the 4th wall in this ending.) Eventually, at the end it turns out to all be a dream and the chat logs were “fake”. The day ends with the members throwing a surprise party for Zen’s birthday and MC joining RFA. (I’m not entirely sure what day this special falls between in the original story line.)

Extra: After the 16:21 chat room “Suspicious Jumin”, there could be 2 VN. The second VN usually pertains to a character that you got the most hearts from previously. Each character’s VN contains a CG. Since the double VN comes before the branch, it doesn't matter what branch you’re going into as long as you get a specific character's hearts way more than any other.

*Note: For some reason, missing chats on this special makes you pay 7 HG instead of the usual 5. I’m not sure if the game has changed so that all missed chats are to be paid 7 or just this AF’s DLC. Gotta check... Also, to go ahead and unlock the full day takes 70HG. The amount goes down as the day goes on but I think it’s pretty expensive for one day.

Hmm... This post doesn’t seem very coherent. I’ll probably make sense once I finish... I still feel like I’m missing something though...
