been playing cave story lately so im gonna talk about that well the writing leaves a lot to be desired although the characters are cute enough that i can forgive it. i played curly story which is a swap where you play as the cute robot girl curly brace instead of quote (the regular protagonist) heres a pic so you dont have to google her bc her google image search shows nsfw on the first row

curl brace :) anyways the thing is that it changes her characterization a lot and its basically a recolor of the regular cave story but the dialogue is just off enough that i feel it wouldve been better if they just made curly a silent protagonist instead of adding dialogue. also misery my friend misery

ill ramble a bit about her. the idea that misery is evil is not completely off bc shes kind of a dick but the reason WHY she does these things is that she and balrog are both servants to whoever is wearing the demon crown this is made explicit in the base ending AND explored a bit more in the best ending which paints misery as a more sympathetic character who tried to save the island from ballos in exchange for her and her brother’s freedom but both jenka and the fanbase tends to ignore this to make her the sole responsible person for the events in the game which pisses me off so much. also i think shes cool
