Wait why is shadow tracking silver in recoil?

so Shadow is under control/command by GUN, so he carries out whatever they want him to do without question. the reason GUN is tracking Silver is firstly: wanting to look into his chaos energy/experiment on him, secondly: believe he might be a secret weapon produced by the robotniks. when silver escapes the GUN facility, Shadow is sent to track him. he kinda serves as a constant looming threat that Silver and Co have to thwart!

@lazydayslivin: i definitely enjoy writing silver the most thus far. it's fun seeing him navigate the story we've laid out for him and how he may differ from his original self. honestly im most excited about his growth and also when he finally gets to catch a break after it all! gumball is also fun just bc i get to describe machines. drawing wise it's also gumball, bc again, MACHINES.

@transzsonix: we haven’t tackled too much writing yet but i think my favorite character to brainstorm/concept for right now would be our main protag silver. for drawing definitely our sonic robot gumball ❤️

Looks at you with my big eyes at the Recoil au, how does Silver feel about the changes specifically when it comes to Shadow? From what it sounds like Shadow is 100% under GUNS command now which like... man that must be such a sucker punch considering how much og Shadow fought to define his own destiny.

ohhh my dear dragron, exactly !! we still have a few decisions to iron out between Silver and Shadow on what we want from them. but putting that asideee: Silver feels, probably about as bad as you can imagine, and above all else frustrated. the Shadow he knows was ineffable, unwavering, and most of all certain in himself. Seeing him now a shadow of his old self, controlled by those he fought tooth and nail to defy--its frustrating. Its difficult being chased by someone you feel responsible for ruining, a constant reminder of your decisions. Its really important for Silver to come to stand by this decision though, even if he has to take it back to fix everything.

Please tell me more about Maria in recoil. Also where's shadow in this au?

Maria is currently with GUN, taken as another one of Gerald's "posessions" during the raid on the ARK. Due to some sort of anomaly they're investigating, she does not seem to age, and has a strong connection to chaos energy. When around others with strong natural chaos energy (silver & shadow), she is able to manipulate said energy to a degree. When touching them, she can also tap into her telepathy, although with Shadow its only moods/sensations. As time went on, Maria was granted a lot more freedom to roam, which is how she meets Silver after he is captured.

Shadow, after being released from his cryostasis, is used as a weapon for GUN. They also experiment with him for their exploration into chaos energy, which is why Maria must be kept around (to calm him). Shadow doesn't do much on thinking for himself, and is constantly overwhelmed by his overflow of chaos energy caused by the fake emeralds GUN attached to him. Despite this, he requires the extra supply to fuel his chaos-related powers since he burns through it quickly. He haunts and tracks Silver everywhere he goes, a constant looming threat, until there is an opportunity for connection.

Imposter Swap AU:

Impostor Swap is an AU that focuses on the idea of multiple sonic characters swapping places/roles, most notably Sonic the Hedgehog and Surge the Tenrec. Tails and Kitsunami swap places too, as well as Shadow and Amy. We plan to come up with more character swaps in the future too! As for story, it depends on the continuity, since this isn’t just a Sonic IDW swap, it’s the whole series— though we mostly focus on IDW’s story with our art. The only major changes that we’ve made within that story so far are the main four (Sonic, Surge, Tails and Kit)’s backstories, but there might be more major changes the more we work on the AU!

Delirium!AU:

AU based around Scourge the Hedgehog. He's brought back to life after the Super Genesis Wave. His memories for the time before the reset still linger in him as he tries to make other around him know about those times. The others don't believe him, slowly drving him mad. It gets to a point he transforms into his Super form and goes in a rampage in Moebius, leaving death everywhere he goes. His father is his last victim as he puts him down. The image of his killing-streak are locked deep within his mind. Due to using too much power, and the zone being unstable, he passes out. Only to find himself in the zone where Sonic lives.

Scourge's body still tries to stablize after he arrived there but he does play it off like it's nothing. The longer he stays in Mobius, the worse his condition gets. Along the way he finds Mayhem the Hedgehog. It's Manic the Hedgehog, but a version of him that's left behind by Sonic and turned on his back. Scourge and him form a brotherly bond as they go on about their daily lives.

At night, Scourge is haunted by the things he did over at Moebius and causes his to loose sleep. Making him start seeing things. The more sleep he looses, the more intense these hallusinations get. His Super form is his worst enemy since it caused the most pain.

Super Scourge slowly takes more control over Scourge, sending him down a dark and gruesome path. Leaving the group (Sonic, Mayhem, Silver, Shadow, Mephiles, Nazo ect.) to start fighting against him as Super Scourge takes over full control, filled with the need to destroy everything.

The AU has multiple endings, including Scourge being revived as Patch the Hedgehog, giving him a second chance at life and allowing him to get a fresh start.

RECOIL:

After a strange vision, Silver ushers to explore the ruins of the Ark alongside a wayward Shadow, seeking clues to another one of his seemingly prophetic nightmares. Before they can dive any deeper into the mystery, an old device is set off and Silver is captured in its vortex, sending him to the past!

Silver finds himself in the thrust of the mayhem on the Ark, and his good nature ends up making drastic changes to history when he saves Maria. Now, back in the present, Silver is facing the consequences of his heroism and what it's done to his friends. Alongside Screw (Tails) and their makeshift sonic-robot (Gumball--based on Silver's embellished recounts of his blue blur), they search for a way to right the past and fix the present while avoiding GUN'S ultimate weapon and Eggman's scheming. although, changing time never comes without a cost.

Broken Illusion's AU:

It's set in an alternate timeline building off Sonic Forces' plot, on which Infinite surrenders to The Resistance just three months after the intro cut-scene of the game, after discovering a truth regarding the fate of his squad that would break him inside out. The AU focuses primarily on Infinite's character, and exploring an infinite-less mercenary, and how he'd develop being striped from his powers. However part of it is also focused on Sonic's fate, what happens to him during the remaining months before the "main-game" of Forces' normal story; and the mysterious appearance of an unknown yet familiar foe known as the "Phantom Rider".
