close | Calum
Requested: no just up calums assÂ
Word Count: ~3,100
Smut:Â lots of angst then sweet missionary <3
It was movie night with friends, and you were currently curled up on the couch by yourself while your roommate was on the opposing couch with her boyfriend, and you felt slightly envious of the physical touch but you pushed the thought to the side. You had just recently broken up with your boyfriend of over a year, and were missing all of the normalcy that came from your relationship.
Thatâs why your roommate was having a movie night, to get your mind off of everything. Some raunchy comedy was on the tv, but you werenât really paying attention. Your gaze fell onto Calum, who was lying down on the floor, sprawled out between the two couches and you had a small smile on your face as he laughed loudly.
âHey, pass the popcorn,â Calums voice rose from the floor and you sighed as you glanced down at him. You thought about just passing it down to him, but you wanted to keep it for yourself.
âOr, you can just move up here. Itâd be a lot easier,â you muttered, and he sighed dramatically as he pushed off the floor and sat up, âJust saying,â
âI just thought you might have wanted your space,â he said, and you rolled your eyes as you moved your legs in front of you to empty the couch beside you. You lifted the blanket and let it fall over your body once more.Â
âYeah but itâs you Cal, itâs different.â you said, and he smiled as he climbed up the couch and you leaned back against it. It was different. Before you and your ex had started dating, you were very much interested in Calum. You pushed all of your feelings, pushed the memories of when the two of you had nearly hooked up but stopped at the last second, pushed everything including Calum away.
The two of you drifted apart in the last year, it was too confusing but you missed him. You looked to the side, watching Calum as his focus was still on the movie. He had a small smile on his face, but it got wider the moment that he noticed your attention was on him.
âMy favorite thing is the little lines that you get around your eyes when you smile,â You whispered, and his smile grew even more.Â
âHey, weâre going to go out to the bar. Do you guys want to come with?â Your roommate interrupted, but you shook your head. There was only one good bar in town, and you had a strong feeling that your ex was already there, most likely drunk and you did not want to deal with that.Â
âNo, Iâm good.â Calum answered, and you were surprised as he normally loved going out, âIâll stay here and keep her company.â
âYou donât have to do that,â You said, elbowing him slightly but he chuckled as he nodded.Â
âYouâre right, but I want to. Itâs been a while,â He said. You smiled down at your lap and sighed. The two were moving back and forth throughout the apartment before they finally said their goodbyes and left out the front door.Â
âHere, you can stretch your legs back out.â Calum whispered to you, and you nodded as you lifted the blanket and let your legs fall onto his lap. He set his palm against your calf, letting it rest there and you nodded in approval at the small action.Â
After a few minutes, he started to slide his hand back and forth, and you hummed at the physical contact. You missed him, you missed him more than you could have imagined.Â
âI missed you Cal,â You whispered, and he chuckled as he nodded.Â
He dragged his finger along the underside of your foot, and you giggled as you let your head rest on his shoulder. âI missed you too darling,â
âItâs been too long.â You said, and he sighed but nodded. You both go quiet as you get invested in the movie and when two characters confess feelings, Calum breaks the silence.Â
âI felt so guilty for having feelings for you, I felt so goddamn guilty.â He murmured, and you frowned as you pulled away.Â
You sit up and pull your legs away from him to cross them, resting your hands in your lap, before you question what he means, âGuilty for what?â
He lets out a huff and reaches for his beer, taking a drink before holding in between his thighs so he can rub his face with both hands. âThe last time you visited me on tour,â He avoids your gaze and you know what he meant immediately, but remains silent. âI pretended I didnât remember because you hurt me and I didnât want to show it, I didnât want to show you how much you meant to me and how badly you hurt me. And I felt guilty because I kissed you, I kissed you knowing that you were leaving and going home to some guy that wasnât me.âÂ
He paused to take another drink and chewed on his lip for a moment before continuing. âI kissed you knowing you had feelings for someone else and that we couldnât be together but in that elevator, I wanted you so bad I would have done anything for you. I felt disgusting because I knew you didnât want anything with me and I kissed you and said things I shouldn't have, knowing you were in a relationship with someone and that I shouldnât have.âÂ
He meets your gaze for the first time to gauge your reaction and when you donât say anything he speaks again, âI couldnât sleep at all that night. I wanted to go and apologize. I wanted to just knock on your door and beg for your forgiveness. I hated myself for it.â
âIâm sorry Cal,â You whispered and he shrugged his shoulders as he looked away from you.Â
âItâs not your fault is it? But the guilt just kept gnawing at me. I wanted you to be unhappy in that relationship, I just wanted it to end. Iâm so fucking disgusted with myself,â He trailed off and your eyes stung slightly as you thought about what you put him through. You didnât quite remember that there was more to your history that the two of you shared until it finally hit you, and then you realized.
You had confessed the feelings that you had for Calum right before he left to go on the new promo tour. You knew deep down that it wasnât a good idea, he would be leaving and it wasnât good to have the foundation of your relationship be on when he would ever be home.
It would just have been too difficult to manage, and so instead, the two of you remained friends. Between the promo tour, music festivals and then a whole new tour after that to go along with the album release, there just wasnât time for the two of you to have a relationship.
And then, Calum left.
That was when you met him. The fun little fling that turned into friends with benefits and then into somewhat of a steady relationship. He knew about Calum from the start, he knew about the complicated relationship between the two of you.
In between the stages of the fun little fling and friends with benefits, you visited Cal while he was on tour. You told him that you were flying out to see Calum, and he was unsure about it but didnât want to seem controlling or annoying in any way.Â
âWhat do you mean, you have a friend with benefits?â Calum snorted, and raised the bottle up to his lips once again. You glared at him for a moment before leaning back into the couch.
âAnd you donât? Please Cal, Iâve heard about your hookups throughout the different places. At least someone over here cares enough to tell me,â You muttered and he frowned as he looked up at you.
âYouâre right, Iâm sorry.â He said, and you rolled your eyes and he set his palm on top of your knee and squeezed gently, âReally, I am sorry.â
âCal, it hurts hearing it but itâs fine. We agreed that we wouldnât make a relationship out of this so I get it,â You said and he shrugged his shoulders as he removed his hand.Â
âYeah, I get it. But screw this, letâs go out. Letâs go have fun, I didnât fly you all the way out here to sit in this hotel room. Thereâs a club in the lobby of the hotel, letâs go down.â He said, and you nodded as the two of you got up and got ready to go out for the night.
***
The music in the club was still pulsating through your body, even now as the two of you were headed toward the elevator. One drink had turned into two, then three, then you slowly lost count as you danced with Calum.
Your shoulder grazed his, your fingers dancing near each other as you continued walking before you whined and huffed. Your feet were hurting, the shoes digging into them so Calum stopped you and helped you take your shoes off.
âI got you Princess,â He mumbled and you giggled as you continued walking, now barefoot and he held your heels in his hands. He helped you as you stumbled slightly, a drunk grin on his face as he slid his free hand down to your hip. The two of you leaned on each other for support as you waited for the elevator doors to open, and he held you firmly against him.
âYou smell so fucking good,â He murmured against your hair, pressing a kiss against your head. He hummed quietly to you, the sound making you feel at home. You wrapped your arms around his waist, pulling him closer to you. You kissed his chest gently, thinking about how much you missed him when the elevator doors opened. A few people filed out, and as the two of you went in you had the elevator to yourselves.
He pushed you back against the wall and dropped your heels in one smooth motion, his hands now coming up to cup your face.
âGod I want to taste you,â He whispered before pressing his lips against yours. You were surprised at first, but melted into the kiss and ran your hands up his chest to his neck. He continued the kiss, eagerly pressing into you before pulling back and trailing kisses down your neck.
âI missed you so goddamn much,â He murmured between kisses, peppering them along your throat.
âCal,â You exclaimed, noticing the button lights werenât lit, âYou didnât even press our floor.â
He rolled his eyes but pulled back to press his floor, the light now lit up and the elevator started moving. He moved quickly back over to you and wrapped you in his arms, breathing out heavily.
âGood, it gives me more time for you,â He murmured against your neck, âIâd give this all up for you. Just say the words.â
Hearing that sobered you up, and you leaned back against the wall and pressed your forehead against his. He tried kissing you again, but you turned your head at the last moment. He couldnât mean it. He was drunk. He was just excited. The doors opened with a slight ding, and you moved past him to start going toward your room. As you opened your door, you turned back to see him, your heels still on the ground beside him as he had a broken look on his face.
You almost changed your mind.
He called your name as you slipped into your room, and heard his footsteps echo yours down the hall but you locked the door behind you. You heard him mumble out a quiet âfuckâ, then heard him go into his own room. You took a deep breath as you leaned against your door, trying to process through everything that just happened within five minutes. Instead of acknowledging any of it, you decided to pass out for the night.Â
***
A knock on your door sounded, and you rolled out of bed to answer it. You opened it to reveal a very hungover Calum, and you wondered if how you looked rivaled him.
âWe gotta get you to the airport.â He mumbled, and you winced as your head was pounding.Â
âDo you want to talk about last night?â You asked, but Calum just shook his head. You took a deep breath and was about ready to bring it up when he interrupted.
âI donât remember anything from last night. Get ready, Iâll go grab food and meet you back here in twenty.âÂ
You shut the door behind him, gathered your things and took a quick shower. The water helped you feel refreshed, but you still couldnât properly form thoughts on what happened last night. You wanted to talk about it with Calum, but he claimed to not remember.
Calum returned shortly and grabbed your bags as he offered you a breakfast sandwich. You gratefully accepted it, and walked down the hall into the elevator.
âCalum, are you sure you donât remember anything from last night?â You prompted again, but he shook his head.
âNo. I told you that already. Letâs just get you to the airport so you can go home.â
âI still have those heels of yours. I never had a chance to give them back to you. I donât think I wanted to let go of them,â He muttered, his eyes avoiding yours, âIâve wanted to bring it up every single day but I never knew how.â
âYou should have Calum. I missed you so goddamn much.â You whispered, and he turned to face you.
âWe can make up for lost time. Or we can start over. Or we can do whatever you want to do.â He nearly pleaded, and you sighed as you took his hand in yours and squeezed it gently.
âI just want you Calum, thatâs all I ever wanted.â You replied, and he had a small smile on his face. He pulled you closer to him, your faces just inches from each other. It was like a game of chicken, on who was going to kiss who first. You decided to initiate the kiss, and pressed your lips against his.
âCan we finish what we started in the elevator? I still want to taste you,â He breathed against your lips and you giggled slightly.Â
âMy room. Now Hood.â You instructed, and he picked you up off of the couch. You laughed against his shoulder and wrapped your legs around his waist as he carried you over to your bedroom. He let you fall gently onto the bed, and took his shirt off in one smooth motion. You ripped off your own shirt, and he let out a low whistle as he climbed onto the bed with you.
âYouâre nearly making it worth the wait Princess,â He murmured, connecting your lips once again. You leaned into the kiss and wrapped your arms around the back of his neck, nearly pulling him closer to you.
âIâve thought about kissing you again nearly everyday since that fucking elevator.â You breathed against his lips, and he pulled back to make eye contact with you.
âIâm sorry I lied to you,â He whispered, and you shook your head as you pulled him closer.
âThatâs done now Calum. Weâre moving forward now,â You said, and he nodded.Â
âAre you sure?â He asked, and it was your turn to nod as you were extremely sure.Â
âFuck me,â You whispered to him and he chuckled as he snuck his fingers into the waistband of your pants.
âThatâs the plan.â
He pulled them down, revealing no panties underneath and he looked up at you with a smile on his face. He pulled his own pants down, and you grabbed a condom from the bedside table. He put it on himself and you spread your legs for him, and he knelt between them.
He spit into his hand and wrapped it around his cock, pumping it a few times as your own hand went between your legs. You rubbed your clit, moaning slightly at the contact and he lined himself up with your entrance. He pushed inside, and you threw your head back as he gave you time to adjust.
âFuck, I didnât know you were this big.â You breathed out and he chuckled.
âDidnât you see my nudes circulating?â He muttered, and you shook your head as he started testing you. He rocked his hips back and forth, and you moaned at the feeling of him filling you up.
âWanted to respect your privacy,â You mumbled and he smiled as he leaned down to kiss you.
âYeah, youâre really doing that now.â He murmured, moving to kiss your forehead, âYou feel so fucking good.â
âItâs been the lost time between us making it feel better,â You whispered, and he rolled his eyes as he paused his thrusts, âDonât stop fucking me.â
âAlright, bossy arenât you baby girl?âÂ
You smiled up at him as you wrapped your hand around his bicep, holding onto him for stability as he continued thrusting into you. Maybe it was the fact that you havenât been fucked in a little bit, or the fact that he felt so good, but you were already close to cumming. You whimpered as you threw your head back, and he took it as an opportunity to latch his lips onto your neck again.
âTell me how good Iâm making you feel,â He breathed against your neck, and you leaned back up to wrap your arms around his neck to pull you closer to him. It was the lack of touch from him recently, but you just wanted to be so close to him.
âYouâre making me feel so fucking good Cal,â You moaned out, and he sucked in a breath, âOh, Iâm going to cum.â
âGood, cum for me Princess.â He muttered, and you wrapped your legs around the back of his waist as he continued thrusting into you. You let yourself become unraveled, cumming on his cock and you whimpered as he continued his thrusts.
âFuck,â He moaned, his hips stilling as he came shortly after you, and you relished in the post orgasm euphoria as he cleaned himself up, then you, and laid in bed beside you.
âIâve waited for years to do that,â He whispered, and you turned on your side to let him lay behind you. He wrapped his arm around your waist, tucking your body into his, âI wonât wait so long to do it again, I promise you that.â

It was a lazy Sunday for both you and your boyfriend Luke. You sat in the morning, enjoying your cups of coffee, watching the view from your shared apartment, and listening to a soft record spinning from the living room. It was ideal for the two of you, just being and taking in each otherâs presence. You couldnât ask for anything more.
Your day continued to look like this until the evening. Sitting, watching shows, snacking, some house work. All things that didnât require much energy, just the driven energy from each other.
The only thing was, you could tell Luke was a little on edge. It made your weekly routine feel different than usual. You were unable to pin what exactly was going on, so you let it go.
Currently, the two of you sat upstairs in your shared bedroom. You were putting away laundry and Luke was fixing up the clutter around your bed. âGonna go shower baby,â you said to Luke, making your way over to the connected bathroom. He walked over to kiss your cheek, âOkay love.â
As you undressed and got under the warm water, you couldnât help but try and puzzle some of the reasons why Luke was acting the way he was today. Not that he wasnât normally affectionate, but he was kissing and hugging you more than usual throughout the day.
You just wondered if something was up emotionally. But either way, Luke had come to you about those things before, so what was holding him back now?
You stayed in the shower for about 10 minutes, washing your body and doing a quick shave before shutting off the water. You stepped out and wrapped a towel around yourself before leaving the bathroom.
Luke was sat on the bed, in sweats and a tee, watching some reruns of How I Met Your Mother. Nothing irregular for the night time. You walked over and laid next to him starting to scroll on your phone.
About 5 minutes had passed before you got up and started changing, shrugging on some of Lukeâs boxers and a tank top.
You had barely gotten the top over your head before you felt Lukeâs arms wrap around you, burying his head into your neck. You didnât even notice him get off the bed, but you melted into his touch anyway, âHi baby.â
âHi beautiful,â he whispered, pressing tiny kisses along the side of your neck and across your collarbone. You shuddered beneath him, throwing your head back, letting out a gasp.
Was this it? Was he just so needy?
You let him pull you back before your back hit the mattress and he fell over you. His eyes burning into yours and his chain dangling so close to your mouth. He moved down, kissing a trail down your stomach before shrugging off your bottoms. âYâ love stealing my clothes, yeah?â You giggle, âof course.â
You pull him up by his chain, and his eyebrow raises tauntingly. You grab his neck and pull his head down to kiss him. The kiss is passionate, hot, and sensual. He pulls away to shrug off his shirt, throwing it somewhere along with the boxers to make a new pile of clutter heâll have to clean up later.
Luke rolls you both over so youâre sat on his lap and you work on shrugging off his sweats. Once you do so, you press your palm against the obvious bulge in his black boxers. He lets out a whimper, âOh fuck.â
You start to peel off your tank top, stripping until youâre bare and your boy lets out a groan. He brings up his hands to both of your tits, fondling them and pinching your nipples. You let out a squeak from the sensitivity.
He brings his mouth into the mix, running his tongue over your nipple, looking up at you. You push your fingers in his curls, âFuuuuck Lu,â you cry.
He continues his actions, making you cry, the slurping noises that are coming from him feed into the heat of the moment. He repeats his actions on your other breast, taking his time.
When heâs done and your tits look more swollen and red than usual, he backs away and peers up at you.
Before both of you are aware, you start grinding into him. Luke lets out a groan, âJesus christ.â You move your hips forward and backward, your clit nudging his covered length in such an intense way where youâre moaning too. Youâre both starting to lose your breath.
You feel your cunt dripping. Itâs soaking through his boxers, even the thick material, and you know he can feel it too.
You continue your movements, not slowing down, and it isnât until you hear Luke gasp, âSlow down, baby, shit,â that you halt your hips. You pant too, looking down at Luke.
âSorry, youâre just so fuckinâ hot sometimes. Canât help myself,â you giggle, pressing a kiss to his lips. âIâm hot? I was about to come already from your soaked pussy.â His voice is deep and it makes your cheeks go red. You feel a faint smile creep onto your lips, in which he mirrors.
You rest your forehead against his for a little, silently agreeing to take things slow for the rest of the night.
Lukeâs hands find your ass and palm your cheeks while you sit up again. âCan we try something tonight? I- I saw something online so I looked into it. It made me curious,â he spoke. Your eyes widened a bit. âYeah, what is it?â
âI read about this thing⌠called cockwarming,â you let out a small noise at the name, âItâs just like, me inside of you..? I donât move when Iâm in,â he finishes. You notice his neck is pink and itâs creeping up to his ears. You donât really say anything mostly because you were still thinking. Wasnât the point of sex to release?
Luke takes your silence as a no, âSorry, we donât have to. I was just interested, I understand.â
âNo, love, I want to try. Sorry, I was just thinking about it.â You speak quickly, hoping to calm Luke down. You could see his nerves become more visible, embarrassed. His eyes widen again, âReally? You sure?â He questions. You nod, âYeah. Itâs hot.â
You ask him about his off behavior today, âIs this why you were a little weird today?â Luke nods. You say nothing else, dragging your body down towards the band of Lukeâs boxers.
You snap the elastic against him, eliciting a gasp. You tug his boxers off him, and immediately his cock springs free. Your eyes are filled with hunger as you make your way back up to stroke him. âOh my fuck,â Luke whimpers. You smirk, unable to not notice the red tip leaking with pearly white liquid.
You drag your hand off of him and push it inside of yourself, letting out a pornographic moan. âOh,â Luke breathes. You take your fingers out of your cunt and wrap your hand around Lukeâs length again, your wetness serving as a lubricant. âHoly fucking shit, youâre so hot.â
You work him slowly, not wanting to get him so riled up before he gets inside you. You know youâve already failed though. âNeed you to sit on my cock now, love. Please,â he cries. You let out a breath and remove your hand from him.
You make your way back up his body and Lukeâs hands find your ass again, caressing you and nudging you up slowly to sit on him. âHoney, youâve gotta put me in. Canât take it,â He cries. You reach down and grab is hard cock before pushing it inside of you as you sit.
Thereâs always going to be a stretch that youâll never get used to. The burn of his long, thick member pushing inside of you. You slide down very slowly and peer up to see Luke trying his best to hold in his noises. Once your sat, Lukeâs jaw is clenched as he tries to relax around you.
âFeel so good around me, honey,â Your boyfriend whispers as he grabs your waist with his hands. You clench involuntarily at his words, letting out a whimper, and he groans deeply. âF-fuck baby! Donât clench like that, canât take it.â
You mumble an apology, although it comes out as a moan. You try your hardest for your walls not to grip around him, but youâre like a vice. You canât help it. His whimpers are becoming louder and louder, and you realize your ability to take the reigns.
âBeinâ such a good boy for me Lu,â your voice is shaky, trying to pretend that his cock inside of you, so deep, isnât affecting you. But it is. His dick twitches at your words, âMmmph,â he breathes.
Luke loved to be in charge. You both knew that. But when you were experimenting, he would always switch between between the two roles. Today, with the way he was behaving, you knew he wanted you to take power.
âYes, yes baby. B-beinâ the best for you, yeah.â
You dig your knees further into each side of the bed, getting him to go impossibly deeper inside of you. Every movement made he swears it gets tighter. âO-oh,â he lets out in a small moan. You kiss his neck, trying to distract him from the pain that heâs unable to do anythingâto use you to work himself to release.
Finally, you both are settled, truly feeling one another.
His breath is heavy. Youâre able to contain yourself and stabilize your body, but Luke is the opposite. He really thought this would be easier. More enjoyable. Not that he didnât enjoy being inside of you, but when he was so pent up, all he wanted to do was move.
Nonetheless you two sit like that for a while, kissing on each other, sucking marks into skin, and relishing in the otherâs dirty words.
âSuch a dirty boy for me, Lu,â you pant, your resolve slowly slipping. âSo dirty for me. Your cock in my pussy, not movinâ, mhmm feels so good,â you gasp, and he lets out a wail before letting his head fall atop your breasts.
He lays it there for a little longer, relishing in the feeling of you soaked and clamped around him. He focuses on trying to hold back, not to lose all his control and take you right here. But he realizes, heâs only be disobeying his own request, and while he wants to try that sometime, he needs to have you. Now.
Before you know it, Luke fucks his hips impossibly closer to yours, and you gasp. âS-sorry baby⌠feels too good.â He retracts his hips, pulling you up a bit, before easing himself back in.
Your breaths come out quick, certainly not expecting this, but thanking whatever compelled him to do it. Little did you know that it was you. Your little moans, your dirty whispers, and your soaked pussy. God, it had him in a spiral. If Luke could go now, he would.
His noises though, are whatâs getting to you the most. Because even though heâs been bold enough to make his own decisions, he canât suppress his little whimpers.
Lukeâs eyes glass over, âFuck, youâre so beautiful, could sit here for hours.â You cry, âY-yeah? Would you like that, love? How about I sit here⌠and I take what I want. Cream all over your cock over and over again and let you sit here and cry, begging for a little taste.â Itâs like your cunt soaks him even more and your own words. And he feels it. âAnd then youâll be so sensitive when you finally do get to cum, because iâll just keep going baby. Gânna end up milking you dry.â You meet your hips with his, beginning to work against his thrusts.
But, your erotic words only make him fuck up into you harder, losing your rhythm you were attempting to set. His cries become louder, and all youâre hearing are his gasps and some slurred âMmmphs.â You love him like this. Completely at your mercy.
You both get close pretty fast. Due to all the teasing, wordplay, and attempt to cockwarm, all of your feelings are heightened. Everything feels so much better than it usually does.
Luke grips your ass roughly, pushing you further into his grasp. His lips find yours, and itâs messy, yet passionate. His lips trail down from your lips to your jaw, suckling and licking. He slows his pace of fucking you, as he knows you both are close to your orgasms, and he wants to make this incredibly enjoyable for the both of you.
âBaby⌠I-Iâm close,â he whispers against the shell of your ear. He pushes his crotch farther up into you, truly grasping onto the feeling of his cock inside of you because he doesnât want to take advantage of it right now. It just feels too good for him to comprehend.
You sigh against him, âI know my love, me too.â He lets out a breath of relief. Thank God, he thinks, because if you werenât right there with him, on the brink of release, he wouldnât be able to last another few moments.
You unexpectedly topple into your orgasm first, a near scream tearing through your throat. The clenching of your cunt sends him right over the edge with you. You both express your pleasure loudly through words that humble together and loud breaths.
Luke feels your pussy soak his cock once more, and he swears youâve never been this wet before. Heâs never felt it. And he thanks himself for working up the courage to ask you to try something new because he never knew heâd get you this good.
His orgasm, along with yours, feels like absolute bliss. Pleasure tears through the both of you in insane amounts. You feel him paint the inside of you, and it will always feel impeccable. Nothing will ever come close.
âOh my gosh,â you start to giggle against him as you collapse your body on top of his. âThat was amazing, Lu.â
He kisses the top of your head once he regains composure, âFelt too fucking good. Always so good for me, my love.â He pauses. âNever felt you that wet before.â
âI donât think Iâve ever even been that wet before. Made me feel amazing, tonight Luke. Was so different.â You start tracing patterns along his chest, as he hums softly along your words.
He takes a pause and starts thinking before speaking up after a while.
âIm sorry about ruining the whole cockwarming thing, uh⌠got too impatient and it just felt too good,â He frowns, realizing he mightâve ruined it for you as well.
âYou didnât ruin anything for me, baby. Felt so good I donât even careâŚâ You pause, âLetâs just do it now? Youâre still inside of me.â
Lukeâs face flushes. âYeah?â
âYeah. And when we wake up, take me,â and as soon as those words leave your mouth, Luke swears heâs hardening again already.
And you feel it. âLuke!â
âWe need to go to sleep⌠like now. If Iâm conscious for another five minutes I canât promise I wonât fuck you again,â his gaze finds yours and his eyes darken.
You look up at him, meeting his stare, returning the same energy. âCanât say I have a problem with that, Luke.â

The word messy didnât even begin to describe your life. It was almost comical, the way everything had derailed so quicklyâlike the universe had yanked the rug out from under you, leaving you to scramble in the aftermath.
Your mind spun as you sat in your car, staring at the unopened test on the passenger seat. The small box seemed to glare back at you, taunting you with the weight of fear it carried. Just looking at it made your stomach churn, flashes of a future you didnât dare let yourself imagine creeping into your thoughts. You shoved them away just as quickly, refusing to let yourself hope for something that felt so far out of reach.
Your phone sat untouched on your lap, the weight of it somehow heavier than it should have been. You hadnât even pulled out of the driveway yet, but the thought of what you were about to do made you want to retreat into the safety of your car forever. With shaky hands, you picked it up, your fingers hovering over the screen before you numbly dialed the number you dreaded.
Ashton, of course, didnât take long to answer. He picked up on the second ring, his voice bright and cheerful as always. âHey, Y/N,â he greeted, the smile in his tone almost palpable. âDidnât think Iâd hear from you today. You coming over? âCause if so, I should probably cleanââ
âYou donât have to clean up anything,â you interrupted, your voice sharper than you intended as you bit down on your bottom lip. You stared at your lap, the words you needed to say catching in your throat. Finally, you forced them out. âI have a test⌠Iâm late. And, uh, I figured I should be with you when I figure out why.â
The other end of the line went silent, the lack of response from Ashton tightening the knot of stress already coiled in your chest. You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, waiting, the quiet stretching unbearably.
âDoes Luke know?â he asked at last, clearing his throat as if trying to sound casual.
You shut your eyes, frustration flaring at the mention of your little brother. âWhy the hell would he know if he has no idea about us?â
âRight, right,â Ashton groaned, his tone sheepish. There was a pause before he continued, softer now. âOkay, well⌠Iâll see you soon, alright? Youâll take the test, and weâll figure it out from there. Just like we always do.â
His voice was so kind, so gentle and reassuring that you could almost cry. âOkay,â you agreed, your voice barely above a whisper as you let out the breath you had been holding.
âDonât sweat it, babe,â he reassured, the nickname falling off his lips without any hesitation. It sounded almost natural, and it definitely made your stomach tighten. âEverything will be fine.â
You frowned, looking out your window and taking in the relatively sunny day. âYeah, I guess so,â you mumbled. âIâll see you in a bit, okay?â
Ashton shifted in the other line. âDrive safe.â
The call hung up with a soft click after that, leaving you once again in anxious silence. You threw your head back against the seat, letting out a long, defeated sigh as your hands came up to grip the wheel.
You first met Ashton when he was just a scrawny kid with hair that swooped over his eyesâyour little brotherâs annoying friend. Despite being only a year older than him, his friendship with Luke made him feel much younger in your eyes.
When your acting career started taking off, you didnât give Ashtonâor anyone else from those daysâmuch thought. At least, not until their cute little YouTube covers got discovered and their band skyrocketed to fame. Thanks to your close relationship with Luke, you began seeing more of his bandmates.
Ashton always lingered a little closer than the others, his nervous energy unmistakable. The rest of the boys treated you like their older sisterâoccasionally annoying, but familiar and comfortable. It was obvious Ashtonâs feelings were different, but you never dwelled on it.
Not when you met Daniel. He was everything you thought you wantedâkind, charming, and effortlessly sweet. Youâd been hesitant at first, unsure if your feelings would match his, but he quickly swept you off your feet.
For nearly five years, the two of you were happy together. Everyone in your life adored himâeven Jack, who could be overbearing at times, warmed to him easily.
He was everything to you, his smile brighter than the sun itself. Daniel had shown you a new side of life, filling it with warmth and the promise of forever. But promises are fragile things, and eventually, he broke hisâleaving you shattered and alone to gather the pieces of your broken heart.
As if that wasnât enough, the world began to crumble around you. Whispers of a new illness dominated every conversation, and soon enough, isolation became your reality. Alone in your home, with no one for company but your own thoughts, you struggled to hold on. Work had slowed to a crawl, and seeing friends was too risky.
Ashton had always been the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His compassion extended to everyone in his orbit, always checking in to make sure they were okay. So when your phone lit up with his call, something inside you broke.
You poured your heart out, tears spilling as he listened to every word of your pain. He let you cry, soothing you with soft words and a patient ear. You felt terrible about itâheâd only been calling to check in out of kindness, not to become a makeshift therapist.
You apologized over and over, feeling guilty for taking up his time, insisting that what you really needed was professional help. But Ashton wouldnât hear of it. He reassured you, his voice firm yet gentle, that it was no trouble at all. âIâm happy to listen,â he said. And you believed him.
Thatâs how it startedâa strange kind of pen-pal relationship born out of quarantine. It became rare for you not to be on the phone with Ashton. What began as conversations about Daniel and your heartbreak gradually turned into something lighter. You talked about life, movies youâd seen, and the places youâd go when the world opened up again.
One night, during one of your usual calls, Ashton said something that made your breath hitch. His voice, normally so confident, was uncharacteristically shy.
âYeah, so⌠basically,â he started, hesitating for a moment. âI only called you. At first, anyway. I was bored out of my mind, sitting in the house with nothing to do. AndâI donât knowâI just found myself dialing your number. Iâm glad I did.â
That confession had shifted something inside you. Ashtonâwho had always just been Ashtonâsuddenly became something else entirely. You started noticing the little things: the way his cheeks dimpled when he smiled, how a stray black curl would occasionally fall over his face, or the intense focus in his eyes when he drummed.
When restrictions eased, your friendship transitioned from FaceTime calls to in-person hangouts. Being around Ashton felt surprisingly effortless. He had a way of calming your nerves with a joke or a warm smile, and sometimes, you couldnât help but notice how his touch lingered just a little longer than necessary.
One night, the two of you got carried away, talking late into the night.
âShit,â you groaned, glancing at the time on your phone. âItâs so late.â
Ashton just smiled, shifting closer to you on the sofa. His eyes were red from the blunt youâd shared earlier, but they still sparkled with that familiar brightness. âSo stay,â he said casually. âI donât see why you should go.â
The thought of returning to your lonely house made your stomach sink. Staying with Ashton, basking in the warmth of his company, felt like the only right choice. But one thing was clear: if you stayed, if your eyes kept flicking to his lips, you would do something you might regret.
And you told him that.
Maybe it was the weed loosening your tongue, or maybe it was the way Ashton looked so unfairly good in his old muscle tee and shorts, but the words spilled out before you could stop them.
To your surprise, Ashtonâs lips curved into a slow, teasing smirk. âWhat if I want you to?â he murmured, leaning impossibly closer. His hand lifted to your face, his fingers lightly tracing along your jaw and down your neck. His eyes never left yours, their intensity making your heart race.
So you gave into your innermost desires and kissed him. And he kissed you back.
The next thing you knew, you were a tangle of limbs on the carpet, the crackling fire casting shadows of your moving bodies across the room as muffled moans filled the space.
Thatâs how it startedâhow your unconventional relationship began. Youâd made it clear from the beginning that you wanted to take things slow, unsure if moving on from Daniel so soon was the right decision. You and Ashton agreed to keep things casual for now, just hooking up and seeing where it led.
Another mutual decision was to keep your arrangement privateâespecially from Luke. Your little brother had always been harmless, and you werenât worried heâd be angry about your relationship with Ashton. But you didnât want to get his hopes up either. Luke wouldâve been over the moon if he found out his best friend and his sister were together, so until you both were certain about where this was headed, Luke would remain in the dark.
For a few months, it worked seamlessly. Life had started to regain a semblance of normalcy as the year drew to a close. That was until your period decided to throw you a curveball.
The drive to Ashtonâs place was filled with anxious thoughts and worst-case scenarios playing on a loop in your mind. By the time you pulled up to his house, your hands were clammy from gripping the steering wheel, and the box of pregnancy tests in your lap felt heavier than it should.
You rang the doorbell, clutching the box tightly as if it were a lifeline. Ashton took a few seconds to answer, but when he opened the door, his warm smile melted a fraction of your fear.
âHi, pretty girl,â he greeted, pulling you in by the waist and pressing a soft kiss to your lips. His easy affection steadied you, if only for a moment.
âHey, Ash,â you murmured, your voice barely audible against his lips. Pulling back slightly, you met his gaze, searching for any sign of unease or irritation. All you found was concern and affection in his hazel eyes.
Ashton frowned, his hand coming up to cradle your face. His thumb brushed gently across your cheekbone, and he gave you that signature reassuring smile. âGo take the test. Whatever it says, weâll figure it out together.â
You let out a shaky breath, leaning forward to rest your head against his chest. For a moment, you allowed yourself to stay there, wrapped in the safety of his arms, wishing you could freeze time and keep the weight of reality at bay.
But you couldnât hide forever. Reluctantly, you pulled back, giving him a weak, trembling smile. âIâll see you on the other side.â
âIâll see you on the other side, Y/N,â Ashton replied with a small nod, his voice steady as he let you go.
With your heart pounding, you walked to the bathroom, shutting the door behind you. You avoided your reflection in the mirror, unwilling to face the physical manifestation of your nerves.
Hands shaking, you unwrapped the first test and let out a deep, uneven sigh. The whole thing felt absurdly humiliatingâpeeing on a stick to determine the course of your future. In another situation, you might have laughed at the ridiculousness of it all.
But this wasnât that kind of moment.
You capped the test and placed it on the sink, refusing to look at it as the seconds ticked by and the result formed. There was no use in dwelling on it, or stalling the results, so with a deep breath, you reached out and shakily grabbed the test.
Not pregnant.
The words were blunt and stark, staring back at you with an unrelenting certainty. Yet, a sudden surge of denial hit you. That couldnât be possible, could it?
You had expected relief to come with those two words, but it didnât. Instead, tears pricked at your eyes, and you slumped onto the closed toilet seat, unable to tear your gaze away from the test in your trembling hand.
How insane did you have to be to feel sad over a negative pregnancy test? The thought rattled in your mind as a quiet sob escaped your lips.
You had always wanted kidsâor at least one. The idea of becoming a mother had been a dream you carried for as long as you could remember. It was a dream that had, in part, torn your relationship with Daniel to shreds. He had made it abundantly clear he didnât want kids, especially not when you and he had faced a similar predicament.
But you did. You wanted one with everything in you.
Your chest tightened as you shut your eyes tightly, trying to push away the ache clawing at your heart. Maybe it was for the best, you told yourself. After all, you and Ashton hadnât even defined the status of your relationship. You hadnât dared to dream of having that kind of conversation, let alone one about kids.
Still, the weight of disappointment was unbearable as you wiped your face and mustered the strength to walk out of the bathroom. Ashton was standing a few feet away, leaning against the wall, nervously biting his nails.
His gaze snapped to you the moment you appeared, his body straightening as he pushed off the wall. He looked tense, his brows slightly furrowed, his hands fidgeting.
âWell?â he asked, his voice cracking slightly with the anxiety he was trying to mask.
You bit your lip, forcing yourself to keep any trace of emotion out of your voice. âIâm not pregnant,â you said evenly, squaring your shoulders as you met his eyes.
For a moment, Ashtonâs expression softened, something flickering across his face that you couldnât quite place. But then, to your utter surprise, you caught a glimpse of disappointment.
Your eyebrows shot up in shock as you instinctively crossed your arms over your chest, your protective wall snapping into place.
âLetâs have a kid,â Ashton breathed, the words tumbling out as if he hadnât thought twice. His eyes locked onto yours, wide and earnest, his tone full of sincerity.
You drew in a sharp breath, blinking rapidly, your mind struggling to process what heâd just said. There was no way he could possibly mean it.
âAshton,â you said incredulously, your tone laced with disbelief, âwe just lost our shit thinking I might be pregnant. And besidesââyour voice rose slightly as your confusion gave way to frustrationââweâre not even together. Not really.â
Ashton shook his head, closing the distance between you in a few determined strides. His hands cupped your face, his breath warm and slightly uneven. âWe are now,â he murmured, an excited gleam lighting up his hazel eyes. âSo letâs have a kid. You and me.â
For a moment, you were frozen, staring at him in stunned disbelief. This had to be some kind of sick joke. Who in their right mind would randomly decide to have a baby on a whimâespecially with someone they were just casually hooking up with?
But then again, there had never been anything truly casual about you and Ashton. Not the way his touch lingered, how his kisses felt like promises, or how his presence made everything seem softer, lighter, easier. It had always been more than either of you admitted aloud.
His gaze stayed locked on yours, wide and earnest, as if begging you to say yes.
âYou were freaking out,â you whispered, though the fight had already left your voice. Deep down, you were searching for any sign that Ashton might back out of this sudden decision, that he might have second thoughts.
Instead, he just shrugged, his lips curving into a soft, hopeful smile. âI was,â he admitted. âBut then I started thinkingâI love you, Y/N. I always have, and I always will. And even though this isnât the most conventional way, Iâd love to make something real with you. And that something?â His voice dropped, full of quiet conviction. âIt definitely involves a baby.â
Your breath caught in your throat, your brows furrowing as you tried to process his words. Who in their right mind would agree to this?
Apparently, that someone was you.
âOkay,â you said, your voice soft but steady, a spark of excitement rising to the surface and chasing away your fear. âLetâs have a baby.â
Ashtonâs face lit up with pure, unfiltered joy. He let out a triumphant whoop, his hands moving to your waist as he lifted you effortlessly, spinning you in the air. Laughter bubbled out of you, breathless and giddy, as the weight of uncertainty slipped away, replaced by something far more exhilarating.
âI love you too,â you mumbled breathlessly as Ashton set you down gently. You were still giddy, your mind flashing with images of your possible new future. Your hands came up to Ashtonâs shoulders, watching him.
His hands lingered at your waist for a second, his eyes softening even more. His smile was radiant, lighting up the room, and he looked almost boyish. Your heart swelled in your chest as you looked at him.
âI canât believe weâre actually doing this,â you breathed, nervous laughter bubbling up inside you. âWeâre really going to do this?â
Ashton laughed, leaning his forehead against yours. âWeâre doing this,â he confirmed, his voice sure and steady. He brought his hand up to cup your face, his thumb briefly brushing over your bottom lip. âIâve never been more sure of anything in my life.â
A faint blush krept up your cheeks, the words lighting a fire inside you that was almost surprising in its intensity. You should have been scared, after all, your life was going to forever be altered, but it was exhilarating.
âWhat now?â you asked softly, your fingers absentmindedly brushing through Ashton's hair. The jet-black color suited him far more than you wanted to admit, and the sight of him like this-confident, certain, and utterly yours-sent a thrill down your spine. âWhere do we even start?â
Ashton's eyes darkened, his lips curving into a devilish smirk as his gaze locked with yours. âWe start by making that baby, of course,â he said, his voice dropping an octave. The playful elation in his tone had shifted, replaced by something deeper, more primal.
The heat in his voice sent a shiver racing through you, and you swallowed hard, excitement and nerves dancing in your chest.
Ashton didn't wait for you to respond. Instead, he closed the distance between you in a heartbeat, capturing your lips in a kiss that was anything but gentle.
It was demanding and all-consuming, leaving no room for second-guessing. His arms tightened around your waist, holding you flush against him as his lips moved against yours with practiced skill. You melted into his touch, your hands threading into his hair, tugging just enough to elicit a low groan from him.
Ashton coaxed your lips open with teasing nips and soft bites, his tongue sweeping over yours, tasting you like he couldn't get enough. A muffled moan escaped you as you felt him lift you effortlessly, his grip firm but careful as he carried you through the room.
The world tilted slightly, and before you could process where he was taking you, your back met the cool surface of the kitchen counter. You pulled back just enough to catch your breath, smirking as your eyes met his. âThe kitchen, Ash? Can't even wait until the bedroom?â
âToo far,â he murmured against your lips, his voice husky with need. âNeed you now.â
Before you could respond, you heard the unmistakable sound of fabric tearing. Your jaw dropped as you looked down to see your shirt now hanging in shreds, the pieces slipping from your shoulders. âAshton!â you gasped, half-laughing, half-scolding. âYou ripped my shirt!â
He pulled back briefly, a mischievous grin playing on his lips. âIt was mine first,â he said nonchalantly, his mouth returning to your neck to leave a trail of kisses. âYou can steal another one later.â
You couldn't stop the laugh that bubbled out of you, though it quickly turned into a sharp gasp when his lips found that sensitive spot just below your ear, making your breath hitch. His hands roamed your body freely, sliding up your back to unclasp your bra with practiced ease.
When his calloused hands cupped your breasts, giving them a gentle squeeze, a soft groan escaped your lips. Ashton took it as encouragement, his fingers teasing your nipple. His mouth followed soon after, trailing hot kisses down your chest before capturing your nipple between his lips.
Your head fell back as he gently nipped at it with his teeth, a moan spilling from you.
Meanwhile, his other hand began its slow descent down your stomach, stopping at the waistband of your shorts. âGod, you're gonna look so pretty, all full of my cum,â he growled against your skin, tugging the fabric of your shorts down your legs.
Ashton's mouth continued its heated journey down your body, every inch of you humming with anticipation. The thought of him finishing inside you sent a thrill through you that you couldn't deny, and as he kissed along your stomach, pausing at your hip bone, you couldn't tear your eyes away from him.
When he looked up, his hazel eyes were dark and glassy with lust. His teeth caught the edge of your underwear, and you let out a soft gasp as he began to pull them down, agonizingly slow.
Ashton let your underwear fall to the floor, his hands gentle as he spread your thighs apart. His lips parted slightly as he took in the sight of you, laid out on the kitchen counter, wet and glistening just for him. âFuck, baby,â he groaned, quickly yanking off his sweater and tossing it somewhere in the room without a second thought.
His hands slid up your thighs with deliberate slowness, his touch sending shivers through your body. He traced a single finger along your folds, biting his lip as he collected your arousal. âYou're so pretty for me,â he murmured, voice husky. âSuch a pretty pussy.â
When his finger slipped inside you, a sharp gasp escaped your lips, and your back arched off the counter instinctively. Heat flooded through you as he added a second finger, curling them just right, finding that spot inside you with practiced precision. A loud moan spilled from your throat, your body trembling under his touch.
His lips found your neck, sucking and biting the sensitive skin, marking you without hesitation. âSince we're telling everyone we're together now,â he murmured between kisses, his breath hot against your skin, âI'm gonna make sure they know. You're mine.â
âI'm yours,â you whimpered, your voice breathless and needy as his fingers sped up, your legs shaking with the intensity of it all. If he kept this up, you wouldn't last much longer.
Ashton hummed in satisfaction, his lips curving into a smile against your neck.âThat's right, baby. You're mine. Gonna fill you up to the brim, put a baby inside you. Isn't that right, pretty?â
You nodded frantically, tugging at his hair for something to ground yourself. His words only spurred you on, the heat in your core building to a fever pitch. But just as you were about to tip over the edge, he withdrew his fingers, leaving you empty and desperate.
A frustrated whine escaped your lips as you propped yourself up on your elbows, ready to protest. But your words died in your throat when you saw Ashton hastily kicking off his jeans.
When he pulled down his black boxers, freeing himself, your eyes widened. You had been with Ashton countless times, but he had never looked so painfully hard. His cock stood thick and ready, the tip an angry shade of red, glistening with his own arousal.
Before you could fully process the sight before you, Ashton's hands were on your hips, pulling you off the counter. He gave you no chance to protest, spinning you around and bending you over the cold surface.
âYou're gonna take all of me,â Ashton growled, his voice low and commanding as he lined himself up with you. âAnd you're gonna love every second of it. Be a good girl for me. Good girls get my cum.â
Your eyes fluttered shut, and your hands gripped the edge of the counter so hard your knuckles turned white. âIâll be a good girl,â you gasped, your voice trembling with desperation. âPlease, Ash. I want you to fill me up. Please.â
A smirk played on his lips as his hand slid around your waist and down between your legs, his fingers expertly teasing your clit.
The sensation sent shockwaves through you, making your knees buckle slightly. Your moans grew louder as Ashton ran the tip of his cock along your entrance, the teasing driving you to the brink.
âBeg for it, sweetheart,â he murmured, his voice dripping with dominance, his fingers working you mercilessly. Every nerve in your body was alight, your need for him consuming every thought.
âPlease,â you cried, your voice breaking into a small sob. âI need you, Ash. Fill me up, stretch me out, put a baby in meâplease, I'm begging you.â
Ashton groaned low in his throat at your words, his control slipping as he finally pushed into you, slow and deliberate. âThat's my good girl,â he rasped, his grip on your waist tightening as he buried himself inside you inch by inch. âAnd you're gonna take every single bit of me, aren't you?â
The stretch of Ashton finally filling you up was overwhelming, nearly enough to tip you over the edge instantly. You didn't know how you'd gotten so worked up, but as he buried himself to the hilt, the sensation was so intense tears pricked at the corners of your eyes.
âFuck, that feels so good,â you whimpered, your voice trembling. Ashton's hand trailed up your back, settling around the back of your neck, his grip firm but not overwhelming.
âYeah? You like being stretched out like this?â he rasped, his voice thick with arousal, his hips unmoving as he stayed buried deep. âYou're so fucking tight, baby. You feel so good wrapped around me. I'm gonna come so hard for you, so deep.â
A soft whimper escaped your lips, your frustration building as Ashton still refused to move. His free hand roamed down your body, squeezing your hip before pulling back and landing a sharp slap on your ass.
The sting sent a jolt through your body, making you clench around him involuntarily. Ashton groaned low in his throat, the sound deep and guttural. âGod, I wish you could see yourself right now,â he muttered, smirking as he delivered another sharp smack to your ass. This time, the moan that escaped you was loud and unrestrained. âSo pretty, bent over a counter for me, taking me so well.â
You nodded eagerly, your eyes squeezed shut, every nerve in your body focused on the feeling of Ashton filling you. âYou're so warm,â he groaned, his hips shifting just slightly. âI need to hear you. Every gasp, every moanâ want it all. If you hold back from me, baby, you'll regret it. Got it?â
The threat sent a shiver down your spine. His earlier promise not to finish inside you if you misbehaved hung heavy in your mind, the thought alone making your chest tighten with desperation. âFuck me,â you begged, your voice shaky and whiny. âPlease, Ash, just move already.â
Ashton let out a low chuckle, dark and taunting. âSo needy, aren't you, sweetheart?â he teased, his words dripping with smug amusement. Before you could respond, he pulled out of you slowly, the sensation drawing a loud moan from your lips.
âDon't whine,â he chided, his tone sharp but playful. âYou're gonna take what I give you.â
But mercifully, Ashton seemed to decide your torture had gone on long enough. On his next thrust, he pulled out almost completely before slamming back into you, the sudden force stealing the air from your lungs. A yelp tore from your throat as his hand tightened in your hair, pulling your head back slightly.
Ashton set a punishing rhythm, his hips slapping against yours with every thrust. The lewd sound of your bodies colliding filled the room, mingling with your loud, uncontrollable moans. The delicious friction he created with each movement made your legs shake, the intensity overwhelming.
âThat's it, good girl,â Ashton purred, his voice dripping with approval. âYou take me so well. Can't wait till you're all round and pretty for me,âhe murmured, his thrusts growing harder, more deliberate. âAll mine. My perfect little cum slut.â
The possessive tone in his voice made your entire body shudder. His hand tugged at your hair again, pulling you upright and flush against his chest. His other hand slid up to knead your breasts, his fingers tweaking and teasing your nipples as he continued to thrust into you relentlessly.
One hand slowly slid up to your neck, wrapping around it gently before applying just enough pressure to make your head spin. The dizziness only heightened the pleasure coursing through you, amplifying every sensation.
But Ashton didn't hold for long. His hand eased away, and your hearing slowly returned as you gasped for breath. He released your nipple and pushed you back down onto the counter, his voice low and rough. âSo fucking perfect,â he groaned, his fingers tangling in your hair again, using it for leverage as he pounded into you harder.
The heat of his movements, his filthy words, and the way he dominated every inch of your body brought you closer and closer to the edge. Your moans and whimpers grew louder, each pull of his hand in your hair sending a delicious mixture of pain and pleasure rippling through you.
âBaby, I'm closeââ you choked out, your voice breaking with need.
âYeah?â Ashton rasped, his hips never losing their relentless rhythm. One hand slid between your legs, finding your clit and teasing it with quick, precise circles. The intensity made your breath hitch, and he leaned in, his voice dark and commanding. âCome for me, baby. Show me how good I make you feel. Show me how much you love my cock.â
You couldn't hold back. Between his unforgiving thrusts, his dirty words, and the way his fingers worked you with expert precision, the pressure inside you finally snapped. A loud cry tore from your throat as you came, your entire body trembling violently with the force of your release.
Ashton's lips brushed your ear as you shook beneath him. âJust like that, sweetheart,â he murmured, his fingers never faltering even as your body slowly began to come down from its high.
âAshton,â you gasped, your legs trembling uncontrollably. âFill me up, baby. Pleaseâ need your cum.â
His breathing was ragged, his pace becoming erratic as he chased his own release. âI'm close, baby,â he groaned, his hand slipping away from your clit to grip your hips tightly. His movements grew sloppy, and he buried himself deeper with each thrust. âI'm gonna come so deep inside you. Gonna fill you up, make you mine, put a baby in you.â
It didn't take long before Ashton's rhythm faltered, and he let out a broken whimper of your name. His body shuddered as he spilled into you, the warmth of him flooding your core just as he'd promised. His hands gripped your hips tightly, holding you in place as he rode out the waves of his orgasm, each twitch of his cock making you moan softly.
For a moment, the two of you stood there, completely still except for your heaving breaths. The only sound filling the kitchen was the ragged symphony of your labored gasps. Your body felt boneless, leaning heavily against the counter to stay upright.
Ashton pressed soft kisses along your shoulder blades, his warm breath fanning your damp skin and making you shiver. âYouâre gonna look so hot as a mum,â he teased with a lazy smirk, slowly pulling out of you.
You whined at the sudden emptiness, the loss of him leaving you aching. Before you could protest, Ashton turned you around and lifted you onto the counter. The cold marble against your bare skin sent a jolt through your body as he gently spread your legs wide.
His eyes glittered as he took in the sight of his release dripping from your core. âCan't let any of this go to waste,â he muttered, more to himself than to you.
With deliberate care, he slid a finger along your sensitive clit, making you gasp sharply. Then, without hesitation, he pushed a finger inside, catching the white ribbons threatening to spill out and gently pressing them back into you.
The overstimulation had your legs shaking again, and you propped yourself up on your elbows, watching him work with hooded eyes. Every touch sent sparks shooting through you, and the satisfaction on his face as he ensured none of his release escaped made you ache for him all over again.
Ashton knelt before you, his hazel eyes locking onto yours with a mischievous glint before he leaned in, running a slow, deliberate stripe along your core with his tongue. His movements were unhurried, carefully cleaning you up without disturbing the evidence of his release too much. He only lapped up the small traces that had escaped, trailing down your thighs.
When he was satisfied, he pulled back, the soft sound of his lips parting making you shiver. Rising to his full height, he grinned widely, his expression smug and satisfied. You returned his smile with a lazy one of your own, reaching up to tug him down into a soft, lingering kiss.
âI love you,â you murmured against his lips, your voice tender. âAnd this was... definitely fun.â
Ashton pulled away just enough to meet your gaze, his grin morphing into a playful smirk. âI love you,â he began, his tone laced with mischief, âand about thatâŚâ
His hand slipped down between his legs, stroking his still semi-hard cock until it stood at full attention once again. Your breath hitched as you watched him, speechless, as he lined himself up with you once more. With an achingly slow push, he slid back inside you, making both of you groan at the sensation.
Your arms gave out beneath you, leaving you fully leaning against the counter. âGotta make sure it all stays in there,â Ashton murmured, his voice low and strained. His hips rolled gently, his eyes fixed on where your bodies joined. âGive me a few, and we'll go again. Maybe even one more time after that.â
A soft laugh escaped you, the movement causing your walls to flutter around him.
Ashton let out a deep groan at the sensation, his hands gripping your hips tightly. âYeah,â you whispered, your voice breathy but teasing. âWe can do this as much as you want.â

Luke Hemmings x Fem!Reader Summary: Paper-thin walls and numerous noise complaints.
FULL BOOK: MIDNIGHT | L.R.H Warnings: None! Slight swearing if you squint hard enough Word Count: 2.8k Copyright Š 2023 Valentiyne. All rights reserved. This original work is not allowed to be reposted on any platform in any format.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·..·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·..·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·..·:*¨༺ ༻
Game Night was hosted every third Friday of the month. Cramped in the new tiny apartment, 7 friends and their significant others wound up on my shitty couch shouting nonsense at each other.
The living room consisted of the old couch, my TV on top of a cardboard box I hadn't quite unpacked yet, and numerous card games.
Holding the slip in my hand, I eye the timer in front of me on the makeshift coffee table My eyes scanned the paper quickly before jumping up and snapping my fingers, "Okay okay, it's born in the water but moves onto land when older."
My friends stare at me dumbfounded, their minds elsewhere as I furrow my brows and tap my feet numerous times. "Come on guys, it's what a tadpole turns into when it's older!" I'm practically yelling now, eyes darting between my friends sitting down and the tiny timer on the table.
"A baby turtle?"
"Andddd time"
I groan in annoyance, dropping the slip of paper while walking back to the spot on the couch, and plopping down with a huff.
"A baby turtle? Seriously?' I scoff, rolling my eyes at my friends who couldn't contain their laughter at my obvious annoyance.
"Okay I'll go nex-", My friend Abby was cut short by a knock on the door. It wasn't necessarily a pound, but it definitely made all of us go silent.
We all look at each other quickly, almost mentally counting everyone to make sure it wasn't an expected visitor.
I slide off the couch, my eyebrows raised for a moment before I walk towards the door. Standing on my tiptoes, I look through the peephole to see my next-door neighbor, Lucas, standing there with an annoyed expression painted on his face. I sigh and unlock the door, poking my head out with a smile.
"Are we too loud?", I ask with innocent eyes, my bottom lip tugged into my teeth as I speak quietly. Lucas gave a friendly smile, his eyebags hidden behind his eyeglasses as he turned to point at his door, "I know it's a Friday night but I'm really busy in the studio tonight... kind of hard to concentrate when there's a bunch of girls next door squealing over....?"
I finish the sentence for him, "If tadpoles are baby turtles." I rub the back of my neck shyly, laughing almost to myself.
"Right yeah, is there any way to keep it down just a tad?"
I give him a thumbs up before we part ways- him rubbing his eyes and kicking his door shut with his bare foot and me turning around and closing it softly. My friends all huddled up behind the door, eavesdropping on our conversation, and as soon as the door shut, they all squealed quietly.
"Oh my gosh! Y/n!", My friend Abby gushing, nudging me with her shoulder harshly. "You never told me you have huge chemistry with your neighbor?"
My eyes grow wide and my hands shoot up in defense, "Oh no- Lucas? He's just a neighbor"
All of my friends' eyes were on me now, and an awkward silence fell upon us. I give a mere shrug before walking back over to the coffee table to scoop up all the cards spawled across it.
"Game night at mine next time?", Abby asks from beside me, picking up the numerous cups with mysterious liquids in them with a disgusted look on her face.
I just nod in response, shoving the cards in their rightful places before sighing softly. We said our goodbyes with platonic kisses on the cheeks and dramatic waves before I was left alone in my apartment again.
It was cold, empty, and dead silent in here- completely opposite of the neighbor beside me I'd assume. My bedroom was similar to the living room- a tiny mattress rested on the floor and my toiletries were packed away in numerous boxes I was too lazy to unbox. My head hits the stiff pillow below me and I could hear Lucas in his bedroom strumming his guitar, humming to himself lowly.
It was a little after one o'clock in the morning, but he seemed to be wide awake singing.
"some things are meant to be secret and not to be heard"
It had officially been two weeks since the game night and two weeks since he came to my door. Lucas and I would occasionally make eye contact on the way to the mailboxes or even hold the elevator for one another- but not a single word was shared between us. He was always in his own world, his head bobbing to an imaginary beat inside his head.
Every night I could hear him singing to himself softly, the wall dividing our bedrooms was as thin as paper. The occasional groan and the sound of notebooks hitting the wall distracted me on nights I needed to sleep, but I never once said anything to him. He was a musician- and a very good one to say the least. I didn't want to be the annoying next-door neighbor.
I swing my door open, looking out into the hallway and scanning each door before finally averting my eyes to his own. The wrench in one hand was held on with a tight grip while the other hand carried the TV mount at my side. I could hear the sounds of various instruments being played from behind his door, his voice clearing every few moments to restart a lyric if it didn't sound right the first time.
The hand that held the wrench swung up, knocking on his door a few times before I took a step back and awkwardly looked around the hallway once again. The sounds from behind his door abruptly stopped and I could hear his heavy footsteps making their way towards the door now. Taking one more step back, I watched as Lucas opened the door and looked down at me,
"I'm sorry, am I being too loud?", He cheekily asked, a smile painted on his lips.
"No no, you're fine.", I laugh at his innocent teasing, quoting our most recent encounter. "I was actually coming over to see if you knew how to mount a TV", I poke my head around his figure and motion towards his apartment, "but seeing as you're busy-"
"I'm not busy." He corrects me, leaning inside his door to grab his keys before turning back towards me and grabbing the box from my hand. "Let me help you out, it'll take 10 minutes tops."
It didn't take 10 minutes. Hell, It didn't even take 30 minutes.
There Lucas and I both were, tools of various shapes and sizes sprawled out across my apartment floor and a cheap bottle of wine I found at the back of my fridge.
"Lucas are you sure you know how to-"
"It's Luke and yes, I know how to do this", he grumbles nonsense to himself as he flips through the instruction manual for the third time tonight. I sighed to myself slightly, trying to keep myself from laughing by taking a swig of the wine.
"Could always just use thumbtacks"
This makes Luke laugh, his eyebrows relaxing on his face and cheeks going bright red. He tosses the manual at me, and I put my hands up to defend myself.
"I'm pretty sure some thumbtacks couldnt hold a 35 pound Tv," He holds his stomach as he rolls around my floor, laughing loudly. I roll my eyes at this, groaning and tossing the screwdriver on the floor.
"Look, it's getting late. I'll just have you come over and do it another time.", I point towards the clock, which was held up with thumbtacks, that read two o'clock in the morning.
"Oh shit, sorry I totally spaced it," Luke stands up now, gathering up his tools quickly and giving me a crooked smile. "I'll swing by sometime this week to help you, I promise." I'm smiling now, shooing him out the door quickly.
"Yeah yeah see you later, rockstar", I tease and close the door abruptly, only to be stopped by a foot in the way.
"What are you doing tomorrow?", The way his eyes glimmered in the hallway light, his hair slicked back from sweat and cheeky dimples appeared as he smiled at me.
"I have finals tomorrow morning, and I'll probably be dead by the time its over- anytime after that I'm free.", I groan dramatically and push my palm into my forehead.
Luke just nods, freeing his foot from the doorway, and gives me a thumbs up, "I'll be sure to be quiet tonight so you can get your rest." I thank him kindly and give him a soft wave before closing the door behind him.
Luke was anything but quiet. I tossed and turned throughout the night, pushing the pillow closer to my ears as I heard him attempting to sing a lyric he wasn't even finished with. if there's one thing I've learned about him in the month and a half I've known him- he was a perfectionist. He sang the same things over and over countless times making sure it was absolutely perfect.
"Cause all these bodies are hoping to get addicted-"
I swing my arm up, smacking on the wall a couple times before groaning and letting it fall to my side once again. His side of the wall went silent immediately, the shuffling of papers and a small mumbled "sorry" was heard.
Luke had avoided me from that point forward: he didn't hold the elevator for me nor did he come and check his overflowing mailbox.
I found myself at his door once again, knocking in one swift movement before clearing my throat. I could hear him shuffling around his apartment, a loud thud followed by a "shit, one second!".
The door opens and a dripping-wet Luke is before me, a towel tightly wrapped around his waist. I blink a few times, holding my gaze above his shoulders out of respect.
"Why are you avoiding me", I ask in a monotone voice, cutting straight to the point. He raises his eyebrows at this now, one hand sassily on his hip.
"Who said I was avoiding you?", He chuckles lightly and opens the door wider, motioning for me to enter. My nose is filled with the smell of the oven baking something sweet mixed with his charcoal body wash. I step inside with a smile, closing the door behind me.
Luke wipes the water from his face and turns away from me, entering his bathroom for a split second, leaving me standing in his kitchen.
I glance around his living room: Pictures of his friends and family are hung up neatly on the wall, his instruments are laid out on the floor around his couch, and his bookshelf is overflowing with numerous copies of musical books.
He emerges from the bathroom once again, now clothed in a sweatshirt and basketball shorts and the towel that was once wrapped around his waist was now encased in his curls.
"I was just going to invite you over actually," He laughs again, flashing me his million-dollar smile before pointing at his dining table. It was decorated with a lace tablecloth, a small bouquet of flowers sitting in a glass-decorated vase, and a plate of steaming hot pasta was laid out. I smile to myself slightly, looking back up at him before taking my seat at the table, he rushes forward, scooting my chair in for me before taking his own seat across from me.
"What's the occasion?" I ask while picking up my fork, poking at the seafood pasta that was professionally plated. If you would've told me he hired a chef to make dinner- I would've believed you.
"I was loud on the night of your finals and I felt horrible knowing I kept you up all night", He picks up his napkin and places it neatly on his lap, "I wanted to make it up to you after I mounted your TV buttt you showed up a little early", He teases.
I take a bite of my food, groaning into the fork with a muffled giggle as my eyes look up at his. The food was amazing, and the flavor was intricately picked out to perfection.
Going back, this perfectly proved my point that Luke was a perfectionist.
We found small talk, conversing over what I was majoring in and what he was busy working on.
"So the album is almost done, I just need to finish this last song," He shrugs his shoulders and scrapes at the remains off his plate. I smile to myself, looking up now with innocent eyes, "Maybe I can help?"
He stands up abruptly, turning around and opening the oven to reveal the freshly baked brownies he had made- from scratch may I add. I groan in anticipation and rub my hands together dramatically. He grabs the brownies with oven mitts, turning around and facing me.
"If you want to help me, I'll allow it", he laughs and places the pan down gently and walks towards his living room, picking up a notebook that was previously thrown across the room.
"Here", he places it in front of me, removing my empty plate and walking
The notebook was written in barely eligible handwriting, with numerous words crossed out and mental notes scribbled on the sides.
Some things are meant to be secret and not to be heard so if I tell you, just keep it and don't say a word. when the doors are all closing.....It's bound to get ?? all these bodies are hoping to get addicted to
The rest of the page was scribbled out, lyrics that never made the cut. I snatch the pen from the metal spiral holding the pages together and click it once.
"it's bound to get.... loud?" I scribble it down next to the question marks and look up at him, scratching his chin with a nod. His cheeks were red now, the wine flushing through his body.
"What rhymes with loud?"
I look up at him now, as he scoots his chair right up next to me to the point our legs are touching.
"Cloud, hmmm,"
"Sound," we both say in unison.
Luke claps his hands together and grabs the pen from my hands, opening the notebook to a new page and scribbling down the new and improved lyrics. I watch him closely, the way his eyes twinkled and dimples poked through when he was concentrating.
I was so screwed. I was falling for my next door neighbor.
I didn't see him for another two weeks, his side of the wall seemed eerily vacant and completely silent. I even knocked a few times in hopes he'd knock back in some sort of rhythm, but there was no response.
Hearing the knock on my door shot my body out of bed, sweat dripping down my neck and sides. I groan and tap on my phone to check the time, blinding myself in the process. The pounding never stopped, not until I stumbled out of bed and opened my door. My heart skipped a beat, praying that the blonde would be on the other side with that cheeky smile I adored.
"Hello?", I ask in a groggy voice whilst rubbing my eyes and squinting up at the person who disturbed my slumber- at 2 a.m. may I add.
Instead of a person, I was met with an empty cold hallway. I avert my gaze down and towards my door mat. There, set up neatly was a bouquet of flowers with a note tied to the front with white lace.
I smile at myself and crouch down, picking up the thoughtful gift and looking down the hallway one last time before kicking my door shut.
Y/n,
I'm sorry I didn't see you before I left. Our album releases at 2:30am today and I was supposed to leave at 2... I just knew I had to leave you something on my way out. I hope you like the flowers I picked out my mom helped me.
I'd have probably sent you the link to the album by the time you finish reading this note.
I'm going to be all over the world, touring and doing what I love. I can't wait to be back home and see you again, i'll make sure to facetime every change I get.
love,
your rockstar
I could hear the familiar ringtone from my bedroom, alerting me that Luke was a man of his word. I wipe a few stray tears and make my way to the bedroom, snatching my phone up with my free hand and clicking the link he had sent me.
This is the song I spent the last 3 months working on, keeping you tossing and turning until finally you perfected it.

you weren't a stranger to relationships, and you'd had your fair share of them over the years. which you were aware that everyone else did, but you werenât really serious about relationships. you didn't want to be with someone who didn't envision a future with you or who didn't share your goals.
your friends often told you that you should let loose and enjoy yourself, but that was not the life for you.
you had been in a very healthy relationship with someone you had known since college for the past few years. however, as time went, he became increasingly open about his needs for different things and eventually ended his relationship with you.
you went into a deep depression after the breakup, you didn't leave your apartment for weeks, you only showered maybe twice, and you couldn't remember the last time you ate anything other than instant noodles or ice cream.
what else could you do while you were wasting away? you had imagined spending the rest of your life with him, and now heâs gone.
your life seemed to change overnight.
while your friends and family around tried being there for you, you had pushed them so far away that they had just decided to give up on you. except, your best friend, olivia, finally dragged you out of your bed and forced you to shower so you could go out for the night with her.
âyou need to get out, have fun, and forget about that jerkâ she states, standing above you as she glides eyeliner on your eyes. âyouâre hot, youâre fun, you have a great personality. iâm sure we can find you someone tonight!â she adds while finishing your makeup.
âoliviaâŚâ you sigh then look into the mirror, watching as your friend painted your face with a determined look in her eye. âno. weâre gonna have fun, weâre gonna party and get drunk. kay? you need this.â she grins, resting her head on your shoulder looking at you in the mirror. ânow, go change into the outfit i brought you.â
"where are we going, anyway?" you ask, pulling at your skirt, which was riding up as you moved. you loved olivia, but some of her dress choices made you uncomfortable. "my brother got us into the pre-release party for the band five seconds of summer," she adds, gazing down at her phone for directions to the club, a hole in the wall on broadway. "what?!" you exclaim, your eyes widening. "how did he do that?" olivia laughs and clasps her arm around yours. "well, when you have a brother who manages a band, you kinda get vip treatment," she spoke with a grin. "plus, I told him how you've been feeling down, so he talked to the guys and they said it was fine," she chuckled softly, as the two of you continued your journey to the club.
the entry to the club was immediately visible due to the brilliant pink, purple, and red lights illuminating the street, as well as record posters in the windows. "this has to be it," olivia says as she opens the door for you, walking in after.
this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so you should be excited, right? but you couldn't shake the nagging guilt on the inside.
itâs okay to move on, right?
olivia leads you to the bar and orders a couple shots, "to your drop dead ex and a new beginning!" olivia cheers, toasting the glasses and the two of you downing the liquor.
you were about to start speaking when you were interrupted by olivia's brother, mark.
"it's been a long time, y/n!" he welcomes you with a shout. âhowâs it going?â he asks, you see olivia roll her eyes and turn to her brother. âmark, we were having a conversation.â she states matter of a factly.
"i know, but I just wanted to introduce you to some of my buddies," the tall ginger says, stepping to the side and revealing four taller men. mark introduces them, "this is luke." he had blond curly hair, ocean blue eyes, and a white button-down shirt with the top button undone.
"michael," he said, his pink hair slicked to the side, a black snapback on, with a small wave of his hand in greeting. "ashton.â he had curly hair like luke, but it was fashioned in a 60âs greaser type of way, he smiled at you warmly, extending his hand for you to shake, the two of you nodding in acknowledgment of the other. "last- but not least, calum."
your gaze met his brown eyes, his chocolate curls resting just above his eyes as he looked you in the eyes. he was dressed in a white button-down shirt with black stripes that complemented his tanned and tattooed skin. he softly whispered "hi" as he squeezed his lips together in a smile. you smile back and nod. "hi.â calum's gaze lingers longer than he would have preferred, but he couldn't help himself. no way, not with you dressed like that. the way the black skirt clung to your hips and the dark blue halter top left nothing for the imagination
âguys this is my sister, olivia, and her friend, y/n.â mark says, pointing to the two of you, bringing calum out of his daydream. ânice to meet you guysâ you say, offering a warm smile and they all nod to you. âare you staying for the show?â ashton inquired, olivia nods. âof course we are! wouldnât miss it for a thing.â she gently nudges your arm, you laugh softly and nod.
"great, can't wait for you all to hear the album," ashton says, as the other three nod in agreement. "well, I have to get them backstage, but I'll see you later, okay?" mark replies, and you and olivia nod as the group disappears into the busy room.
as the show began, olivia tugged you closer to the stage, two rows back. the lights dimmed and you heard a huge cheer from the audience as the four boys you had just met took the stage.
your gaze was drawn to calum, who seemed engrossed with the music. how he made it appear so easy while looking so nice. you kept an eye on him for the majority of the night, but your mind was elsewhere.
you had found your way to the bar after the show had concluded; it was a terrific show, as expected, but seeing the band live was a weird experience, and you just couldn't enjoy yourself given your circumstances.
you found yourself reminiscing on your relationship during songs like "lie to me" and "why won't you love me," wondering whether you would have said something different or been more open to him. maybe youâd still be together.
you finish the drink you ordered and search the crowd for your best friend, but when you can't find her, you return your attention to the empty glass in front of you watching it being filled.
"was our stage set really that bad?" when you hear a voice, you quickly look up to find the person who is speaking. "i saw you, you seemed unhappy," calum adds, leaning on the bar. you shook your head and let out a breathless laugh. "no, it was actually very good," you say with a smile.
calum's gaze lingered, he leaned forward. "but? you were definitely not having a good time." you shrug and allow the bartender to refill your drink. "well, i got dumped not too long ago." "so", you trail off, messing with the glass in your hand.
"just not in the mood for a party, i guess," you shrug, and you hear calum hum. he switches his weight from one leg to the other. "actually, you looked pretty hot on stage," you cover your mouth and widen your eyes. "oh my goodness...i." you can't help but giggle, "i'm so sorry," you shake your head, and then gulp the last of the drink in the hopes that it will provide you with some liquid courage.
"you think I'm âpretty hotâ?" he asks, his brow furrowed and his tongue protruding from the inside of his cheek. "no..i.." you sigh, removing some of your hair from your face. calum chuckles "no, no. you said it, you think I'm hot," he says in a teasing manner, crossing his arms with a quirked eyebrow.
calum would be lying if he said he didnât think you were attractive as well. he had been eyeing you all night and figured, why not have some fun?
âwhat are you doing after this?â he asks, stepping a tad closer to you. now, he was just a few inches from your side and you caught wind of his cologne. you look down at the empty glass again, wondering what youâd say. you knew what he meant, and you had never done anything of the sort.
âwell that dependsâ you answer, looking up from the glass and letting your eyes meet his. âwell, i was kinda hoping youâd want to leave here with meâ calum suggests with a smirk. you smile, figuring you could let lose for one night. âsounds great.â
it was just one night..right?
your eyelids flutter open, and you immediately feel a piercing pain in your temple. you groan silently and look about until you realize you're not in your bedroom when you peek over your shoulder, you notice a figure.
he was facing you, on his side. his curls were brushed back, his lips were slightly parted, and his arm was resting on your waist.
"oh, shit.." you think as you sit up against his headboard, drawing the loose sheet closer to your chest. your mind is filled with images from the previous night. meeting him, and then their brief talk in the bar. you rubbed your temples, still reeling from what you'd done.
you had slept with calum hood.
you had to get out of there because you couldn't believe what you'd done. you were never the type to do something like that. you attempted to remove the sheet so you could hurry up and put on your clothes from the night before and go home. however, while you were doing so, calum's arm gently tugged on your waist. "stay.."
when you looked at him, his eyes were still closed. you didn't move, feeling frozen as your gaze landed on the arm that framed your waist. you couldnt lie, calum was very attractive.
eventually, you finally managed to break free from his touch, and you threw on your clothing while searching for your phone and handbag. you discreetly opened and closed the door, making your way through the house to the front entrance.
you come to a halt as you pick up your shoes, pondering whether or not to leave your phone number for him. but you tell yourself that you'll never see him again, opening the door and walking out.
you order a lift home and finally check at your phone's alerts. olivia left almost twenty messages and made thirty phone calls. you tell her you're okay and on your way home.
you opened your front door to find olivia racing towards you. "where the hell were you?!" she exclaims, her eyes wide open. you hush her with a "shh," dropping your shoes beside the door. "i texted and called you!" "i know, i know," you remark as you pass by her to your room. "you can't just leave like that!" she exclaims as she follows you.
"olivia.." you sigh and stand in your bathroom, removing the last of your makeup from the night before. "i'm sorry okay, i was drunk and he was right there in front of me." "who?" she asks as she leans against the doorway. "calum.."
there was radio silence for a split second before you glanced to olivia, who erupted. "you slept with calum hood!?!" she exclaims, lunging for your arm. "calum hood?!? the one from five seconds of summer?" you closed your eyes, your head still throbbing, and her ranting only made matters worse. "okay, yes? i was drunk, and he came up to me for a moment...and the following thing led to another..."
"you slept with calum!!!" the ginger laughs as she claps her hands and softly jumps up and down. "oh my god!! my y/n is getting some!" you groan, throwing away the makeup wipe while moving past her. "oh, god. ew!" you exclaim as you enter your bedroom in quest of your pajamas. "tell me everything!" she says as she sits on your bed. "uh..no.." you say as you begin to change.
"just...leave it, im not going to see him again," you say as you brush your hair after changing. "what?! didn't you leave your phone number or something?" "no, olivia, it was just one night," you shake your head. i don't plan to see him again, okay?" you reinstate by placing the brush on the dresser. "ugh, you're no fun!"
"you should be happy about this, you're one step closer to moving on from your asshole ex-boyfriend!" exclaims olivia. you take a step out of your bedroom, looking over your shoulder at your ginger friend. you smile sadly, "i don't think I'll ever be able to get over him."
"we are going to be late!" olivia yells as she tugs you out of bed. "i don't want to go," you protest, but the ginger pushes you into the bathroom. "get yourself ready and meet me outside, okay?" she smiles and goes away.
you sighed as you stood in front of your mirror and went about your business. wash your face, then apply skincare, makeup, hair, and finally your clothes. this consisted of a cropped white shirt, a black skirt, and boots. for the nightlife scene, this was your typical go-to.
you grab a leather jacket and your money on your way out the door to meet with olivia. âgreat, you're done!" she grins and grabs your arm. "and looking as hot as ever," you sigh, "i wear this every time we go out, olivia. this isn't anything new." you explain, and the two of you start walking up to the bar. "yes, but being single looks good on you... you look happier." she beams. you shrug and continue going, laughing as you say, "whatever you say."
you two arrived at the bar, which was already quite crowded with people you knew, and said your 'hi's and 'hello's' as you walked through the crowd to reach your normal friend group. this was a birthday party for one of your mutual friends; you were invited because you knew a few people there, but you didn't intend to stay long. after only a few drinks, you were dipping.
"hey, i'm going to get a drink, do you want anything?" you ask olivia, who was in the midst of a conversation. "um, no, i'm good for now," the redhead responds softly. you nod and turn around, headed for the bar.
you take a seat on a bar stool and order your usual, then pull out your phone and scroll for a few minutes as you wait for your drink.
"fancy seeing you here," you hear from behind you. when you turn around, a familiar face greets you.
calum hood.
you gaze at him for a time, blinking slowly, wondering why the hell he was at this party in the first place. how did he know your friend group?
"what? like what you see?" he laughs and walks up to the stool next to you. you discreetly giggle, rolling your eyes as you notice your drink in front of you. "you're full of yourself, calum," you say as you sip your drink. "well, you weren't thinking that when you were in my bed a few nights ago, were you?" he says, lifting his eyebrows as he speaks, attempting to elicit a reaction from you.
"oh god.." you mutter. calum follows you as you push yourself off the stool and onto the club floor. "come on, I was joking." when you hear his remarks, you shake your head and spin around to tell him off, but you freeze when you realize how close he is.
calum gazed back at you, his chocolate eyes piercing into yours. the way his wavy hair fell just above his eyes. you couldn't think straight when he was wearing a tight-fitting black t-shirt that emphasized his muscles- or how nice he looked in those black plaid pants.
calum hood was fine, and he knew it.
"you're a jerk," you reply, eventually jerking out of your daydream. as he steps closer, you can smell the tequila dripping from his breath. "oh yeah?" you say, nodding, "yeah." "well, you won't be saying that when you're in my bed again."
as you stare into his eyes, your grasp on your cup tightens. you couldn't take your eyes off him.
"fuck you."
he takes pleasure in your reply and leans in, his face right up against yours, whispering, "maybe later, sweets." then calum walks away, leaving you on the dance floor.
you find yourself back with olivia and your group of friends, scarfing down the drink knowing you needed to be intoxicated for the night ahead of you.
"i saw that," she says, as the two of you sway to the music. "what?" you inquire, attempting to appear clueless. "calum hood, hitting on you!!" she rolls her eyes. she giggles and pokes at your side. "no, it was nothing," you promise, moving her arm away. "whatever you say," she sings.
while you were on the dance floor with your friends, you were pretty intoxicated, and you knew he was watching you. you tried to ignore the sense of his eyes burning holes in the back of your skull. he observed your hips swaying to the music and the way your hair layed against your skin. It was driving him crazy.
flashes of you in his bed, your skin gleaming with sweat, the softness of your lips against his, or the touch of your nails on his back that sent thrills down his spine.
normally, he would never return to someone with whom he had a one-night encounter, but he couldn't get enough of you. he hasn't stopped thinking about you since that night.
you'd had enough of his glances and decided it was time to face him.
"stop" you say as you approach him. he blinks and asks, "what?." you sigh and roll your eyes. "i know you're staring, stop it." calum laughs and sets his drink on the bar. "i don't know what you're talking about, pretty." you sigh and rub your temples. "don't act innocent, i saw you." you say. he shrugs and leans forward. "oh, I'll show you innocent"
"calum, we can't do this," you say, looking him in the eyes. âIt was only once." you say, as if attempting to persuade yourself. "oh, yeah?" you cross your arms and nod. "because it seems you don't believe that." calum retorts, his hand coming to rest on your hip.
as he moves in closer, you catch the scent of his cologne combined with the booze on his breath, which sends a shudder down your spine. you see flashes of his figure hanging over you from a few nights before. you couldn't possibly lie to yourself because you think about it every day.
"i know you want me.. i see the way you look at me," he continues. "come on, let's have some fun." his thumb was tracing circles on the fabric of your skirt.
you look into his eyes, your stomach flipping. you didn't want to give in, you didn't want to become someone you weren't. but that was calum fucking hood, and you couldn't resist him when he looked at you like that. "fuck it," you state.
you gaze at the sleeping figure beside you, his breathing calm and steady. you couldn't help but feel bad, so you told yourself you wouldn't hook up with him again. you told yourself you'd never see him again. he was a celebrity, and you were just a city dweller who happened to get caught up with him.
you lie there for a moment, admiring calum. how could someone look so lovely while sleeping? you yank the covers off your legs and frantically dress to leave him yet again.
you collect your shoes at the exit, stand for a moment debating whether or not to leave your number, but you decide not to because this is the last time you'll see himâŚ
right?
from that night forward, you felt like the universe was messing with you because calum appeared to be at every party, club, or bar you went to. he'd approach you as if nothing was going to happen, as if he was teasing you in some way- but it always happened.
those nights, you'd always end up in his bed, never yours.
you couldn't help yourself; no matter how hard you tried to pretend you despised him, you couldn't keep the mask up because you always caved and went home with him.
it became a habit; you'd go out with friends or by yourself, secretly hoping calum would appear in some way.
some nights, you weren't even there to drink, just to be there.
it was the same thing every time: you'd pretend to despise him because a small part of you wanted a serious relationship yet couldn't get enough of him. he made you feel alive. your ex never made you feel that way. the only person who ever made you feel *loved* was calum. you both knew it was only for fun, but it made you wonder if it might ever turn into anything more. you were always silently wishing you had left your phone number all those times, wondering if he would have called or texted you.
plus, you were aware that your friends, particularly olivia, were becoming suspicious. you had recovered quickly from your split following that first night with calum. she knew youâd leave with him at those gatherings but she didnât stop it because you seemed to be doing better and you were a lot happier.
so far, calum was treating you right. at least, when the two of you were hooking up. so she never made any effort to stop what was happening.
for what felt like the hundredth time, you were back in his bed. instead of looking at him, you've turned your gaze to the ceiling. you know you should leave because it's about noon and you need to get home because you have plans with olivia later that day. you groan, running your hands over your face before getting out of bed and hunting for your clothing, all scattered along the floor.
"since you obviously don't want to stay," he spoke suddenly, causing you to pause in the middle of putting your shirt back on. calum raises up to rest on his elbows as your head spins around. "how about we just agree that this is a no-strings-attached situation," he suggested. you finish putting on your shirt and take your place at the foot of the bed. "calum.." you sigh, rubbing your eyes.
"y/n, just listen and consider it. we can keep doing what we're doing without making any commitments."
you stare at him, his hair was messy, he wasn't wearing a shirt, and you couldn't help but admire his physique. you lean down to grab your shorts, responding while you did so, "i'll think about it," before throwing on the rest of your clothes and leaving his bedroom. as you close the door behind you, you hear him sigh.
your hand was on the doorknob as you stood at the door, but you stopped yourself from opening it. you hated yourself as you reached into your bag for a pen and a random scrap of paper to jot down your phone number. you retrace your steps and leave it on his kitchen island. then you disappear from his home once again.
you unlock your apartment door and walk in, closing it behind you. you enter the kitchen, putting your bag on the counter and grabbing a water bottle.
"where have you been?" you jump out of your skin when you see olivia behind the refrigerator door. "what the hell, olivia!" you exclaim, nearly spilling the bottle. she's standing with her arms crossed with an intense stare. "did you hook up with him again?"
you move out of the kitchen and into your room, closing the fridge. "no, I don't know who you're talking about." you respond, but olivia isn't having it. "stop lying. you were with him last night and the nights before." "so?" you grumble.
"so?!", she exclaimed, you can't tell if she's really mad at you or just acting this way, she repeats. "you're having an fling with a celebrity! you have a habit of hooking up with him. surely something has to be there." she follows you to your room, standing in your doorway as she questions you.
"it's nothing, olivia. we just happen to be at the same location at the same time. okay?" you explain while looking for some clothes to change into.
"i call bullshit. you were never like this, until you met him." she continues, making you sigh. "it's just a distraction, okay?"
"I just...I don't know," you shrug, unable to express your feelings. "i'll meet you later, okay?" you turn away from her.
"actuallyâŚi have a date tonight," olivia confessed. "im sorry, but i'll have to cancel." she frowned. "that's fine," you say sympathetically over your shoulder. âhave fun, and please text me when you get home, okay?" olivia nods, singing, "i will, love you hot stuff" she passes by you to leave your shared apartment.
you're sitting on your sofa with a container of leftover takeout from a few nights ago after freshening up. olivia had somehow gotten you hooked on a cringe-worthy television show.
you were already two seasons in and couldn't recall a single episode. calum had made your memory fuzzy. you couldn't get him off your mind. you remained curious about what he was doing when you left. did he think of you the way you thought of him? did he ever wonder what you did when he wasn't there? though you convinced yourself you were just being delusional.
âŚright?
calum glances at the scrap of paper on his kitchen counter, his fingers tapping near his phone, unsure whether to wait to message you. calum was well aware that what he was doing was probably not wise. because, after all, hooking up with you was just for fun, right? so why was it so difficult for him not to think about you? why were you so difficult for him to forget? it was just intended to be once, but now calum thinks about you whenever he gets the chance.
calum sighs, picks up his phone, and starts punching in your phone number. he has no idea what he's doing, but he doesn't stop himself from sending you a message.
- âhey, itâs calumâ
you're standing in the kitchen right now, washing your hands, when your phone dings. your heart sunk as you looked over and said the message. you swiftly withdraw your hands from the sink, grab a towel, and dry them.
you take out your phone and read his message. You stare at it for a moment, unable to believe he actually messaged you.
-âheyâ
you respond as you stroll over to your sofa and sit on the cushions. you weren't anticipating anything from him because he'd practically established that the two of you were only in it for the fun of it and that was it. no strings attached. you don't hear from him again for the time being.
you're disappointed, but you return your focus to the television, hoping to forget about the singer on your mind.
you haven't heard from olivia in hours; she should've been home by now, but you guess she went to the guy's place she was seeing.
you get up from the sofa and grab your phone; all of your anxiety fades as you open your phone to calums' contact information and call him.
It rang several times before he answered. âhello?â
âhey, calum sorry if iâm bothering youâ
âno, youâre good. whatâs up?â
âi was just wondering if uhâŚif youâd want to hang out?â
"what do you have in mind?"
you laugh, "not like that"
you can hear him laugh in amusement, âsorry- yeah, sure. thereâs actually this party tonight and i wasnât going to go since i didnât have anyone to go with. would you be down for that?â
you pause for a moment, picking at your fingers. âsure! that sounds greatâ you answer.
ânice, iâll send you the address to ashtonâs place and iâll meet you there. see you tonight, sweets.â
you arrive at ashton's house, sitting in your car for a few minutes as you ran your options through your head. âwas this a smart decision? were you planning to do this?â you groan, taking your phone, and bag then exiting the car, heels clicking as you approached the entrance.
when you opened the door, you were greeted by the smell of alcohol and loud music. you stroll past the crowd near the entryway and start looking for the person you came here to see.
you notice him in the kitchen with his bandmates, he noticed you as well. with a tiny smile on his lips, he motions you over to the group.
"hey," you speak softly now that you're standing close to him. "hi," he greets, unconsciously placing his hand on the small of your back. "guys, i'm not sure if you remember, but this is y/n," he reminds before re-introducing you to the rest of the band.
"are you mark's sister's friend?" michael interjects, you nod. "yeah! i was the one in the blue top that night," you smile, everyone nods in acknowledgment. "well, i'm glad you could make it, if you need anything just let me know." "thank you," you nod nervously, then glance up to calum.
he offers to take you around and introduce you to some people to make you feel more at ease.
"i'm going to get something to drink, you want anything?" you make the offer to calum, who is seated on the sofa, he responds with a simple, "sure." you nod, heading to the kitchen by yourself, leaving calum with his buddies.
"how long have you two been together?" someone seated next to calum asked, he turns to see it was ashton's girlfriend. "oh, no- we aren't together." he responds, but her reply is unexpected. "are you serious?" she asks, calum nods. "no way," she whispered, astonished as she takes a sip from the crimson solo cup. "what?" calum questions.
"there's no way you two aren't together," she says again, "the way you look at her. i'm not sure what the two of you are up to, but you should figure it out," she concludes, chuckling. calum simply stares at her, her attention drawing elsewhere.
he thought about what she said the entire time you were gone. did he actually act that way? did he treat you as though you were his girlfriend? did he look at you in a way that suggested you two were dating? no⌠you two were just hooking up. nothing else.
he had no idea you were back until you spoke up. "here.." you offer, handing him the drink. calum looks up takes the drink you offered, "thank you sweetheart" "anytime, sugar" you chuckle and go for a seat, but all of them are taken⌠okay, so you would just stand up for the time being. when calum notices this, he reaches for your waist and pulls you down onto his lap. you look down at him, confused, âwhat are you doing?â he looks up at you with those eyes.
those big brown eyes that made you feel as if you were on cloud nine. calum looked at you like you were the only girl in the universe.
at least, thatâs what you told yourself.
âiâm not just gonna let you stand there.â he answered with a cheeky smile.
people started to leave after a few hours. you were still sitting on calum's lap as everyone else congregated in the living room, talking about whatever and playing drinking games.
you get up from the calum's lap, leaving your drink behind to walk to the restroom down the hall. you approach and knock, hearing someone in there. you stand a few steps away from the door and pull out your phone to pass the time.
after a few minutes, calum finds you. leaning his arms against the wall, effectively caging you between his arms as he stands in front of you. "whatcha doing?" he demands, boxing you in and staring at you. "I'm waiting for the bathroom," you say, glancing up at him.
"you know..." calum pauses, coming in closer. "my house isn't too far from here, and i have a bathroom..so..you can just use it there," you sneer at his offer, "how convenient.." you respond, just above a whisper.
you push yourself off the wall and past calum, leaving him speechless. "where are you going?" he asks, his arms at his sides. "your place. you coming or not?" you grin as you peer over your shoulder.
calum chuckles quietly as he approaches you and wraps his arm around your waist. he was nearly dragging you to the door. "sorry guys, we have to run!" he grabs your bag, carrying it for you before dashing out the door with you.
the others could only chuckle to themselves and smile knowingly as the two of you dashed away.
you're back in his bed, and you know it before you open your eyes. the smell of his bedsheets let you know you were back. the warm vanilla smell invaded your nostrils as you stretched and opened your eyes to find yourself staring at a familiar ceiling. you check over your shoulder for calum's sleeping figure, but he's not there.
you carefully sit up, bringing the sheet along to cover your chest and rubbing your eyes with your other hand. only then do you spew calum standing at the doorway wearing only basketball shorts. "good morning, princess," he says, and you groan, feeling a headache coming on. "i'm making breakfast if you want to stay," he says before walking out the door. you sigh as you get out of his bed and seek for your clothes before leaving his room for the kitchen.
you notice pancakes and fruit on a plate waiting for you. as he stands and consumes his food, you take a seat at the kitchen island. It's quiet for a few minutes before he speaks up.
"so i was thinking.." calum begins. you raise your head to look at him. "i know we said no strings attached but what if we expand the deal?" you lift your brows, confused as to what he was on about. "what do you mean?" you inquire. "at parties, we could be each other's automatic plus one. that way, we won't have to worry about who we go home with." you look up at him, then down at your plate, shifting some of the food about.
"i don't know, calum." you let out a sigh. you want to say yes, and you want to be around him at all times- but you just canât confess it. "i'm just tired of being ditched by the guys at events, and i wouldn't mind if you were the one to fill that spot," you gaze up, your eyes meeting his. "okay...i'm down," you nod, and calum smiles. "great."
you continue eating as silence fills the room, you donât really know how to keep a conversation with him since you two only hung out at parties. âwhenâs your birthday?â he asks. you chuckle, âwhat happened to no strings attached?â you ask, taking a drink of your water. âwell, we can be friends with benefits. friends can know things about each otherâ he rebuttals. you look at him, finally caving. ây/bdâ you answer, calum nods. âthatâs coming upâ you shrug, âits a couple months. what about you?â
âjanuary 25thâ he answers. âhappy belated birthdayâ you reply and he laughs. âso you do have a heart.â you rolls your eyes, âoh whatever.â you canât help but crack a smile.
calum admires you, how you still manage to look beautiful even in the makeup from the night prior and your hair is a mess. calum wants to be your friend, he wants to know stuff about you other than how you are in bed. he looks down at his plate, knowing he shouldnât be thinking of you as anything for than his fuck buddy.
âwhatâs something youâve always wanted to do?â
you think for a moment, your free hand is now supporting the weight of your chin. âhmm..iâve always wanted like a big birthday bash.â you answer, âbut i just never had the opportunity or people to go withâ you add. he nodded, making a mental note.
âââ
calum proceeds to ask you out every other night, claiming that he doesn't want to be alone. of course, you went, but it simply muddled your sentiments for him. because he made it apparent that you were just friends.
so what was it about him holding your hand at parties that got you so worked up? or when he'd hold your back as you walked through a crowd of people. you'd have to convince yourself to stop staring at him for so long before anyone noticed.
you opted to see someone else on the side in the hopes of sorting out your feelings because the only reason you had feelings for calum was because he was the only person you had been seeing this much, right? furthermore, calum had made it obvious that there were no strings attached.
"hello?" you answer the phone as you go inside your apartment after getting home from work. "hey! "I'm sorry if i'm bothering you," calum says over the phone. "no, i just got home from work. you're fine!â
âhow are you?" you ask, placing your keys on the table.
"i was just wondering if you're free tonight?" he inquires. you sigh and open your refrigerator to see if you have any snacks. "um, actually i was going out with a friend tonightâŚ" you speak, and on the other end you hear him sigh, "okay! if your plans fall through, let me know." you smile to yourself, "of course," and it gets silent for a bit as the two of you are at a loss for words, "well, i'll let you get ready then..." "alright...bye..." you say as you pull the phone away from your ear and finish the call.
calum sighs as he tosses his phone to the opposite end of the sofa and rests his head back. he knows that he should not be disappointed; you have your own life, and calum was only a little part of it, just as he had his own life but knowing he wouldn't be able to see you tonight hurt. so, instead of moping about, he decided to ask his bandmates if they wanted to hang out for the night.
however, the night was uneventful; luke had met a girl, michael was conversing with someone, and calum was left alone with ashton.
"isn't that the girl you're seeing?" ashton says unexpectedly, motioning towards you at the bar. calum looks over his shoulder and sees you talking with a guy.
calum is hurt, but he turns around and shrugs as he faces ashton. "we're not seeing each other, i don't like her like that," ashton chuckles as he sips his drink, "sure you don't," calum moans, "mate, cmon.."
âyouâre lying to yourself, mate. maybe you don't say you like her, but your eyes say everything." ashton spoke, calum knew it was true. he did like you, but he was unsure if you even considered him more than someone just to hook up with. you had been giving him mixed signals, because one night you were all about him but the next day you wanted nothing to do with him.
calum peers over his shoulder once more, this time observing that the guy that was now touching you, his hand on your leg, inching higher and higher. calum considers ashton's words and walks away from the table he was at towards you.
the way he felt was enough confirmation for his feelings for you. he wanted to be more than just a friend you sleep with. he wants to the be the person you come to during your darkest times, he wants to know your favorite songs, he wants to know your favorite movies, food, candy, animal, he wants to be your person.
âso when were you going to introduce me to your friend?â your head whips around to find calum standing behind the bar stool you sat at. âcalum?â you blink before turning back to your date who had now removed his hand from your thigh. âyou know him?â the man questions, eyeing calum.
âuhâŚheâs just my-â calum cuts you off, âboyfriendâ he finishes for you. your eyes go wide looking at calum again, you were about to open your mouth but calum beat you to it. âand we should be heading back nowâ he reaches for your waist, grabbing your purse and escorting you out of the bar.
"what the hell!?" you yell outside the bar, shoving him away from you. "you can't do that, calum! we're not exclusive, we are not dating; we're just friends who occasionally hook up" you hear calum chuckle and it sends you over the edge.
you huff and begin to walk away, but calum follows you and drapes his arm over your shoulder.
"youre mine and i don't share"
"where are you taking me?" calum walks next to you, instinctively leading you to his car. "home," he says, unlocking his car door and allowing you to enter before closing it and walking to the driver's side.
within a few minutes, you realize he's heading in the opposite way. "calum this isn't the way to to my place" you're saying. "I know," he replies, looking over at you. "i never said which home"
âget ready, im coming overâ
calum takes out his phone. he thinks nothing of the message you just sent him, presuming you're coming over to visit him. however, when you came and kept honking the car horn for him to come outside he was a bit thrown off.
when calum walks outside, he puts his phone and wallet in his pocket while walking over to your car. as you roll down your window, he leans in. "get in, we're going shopping," you say, music still playing and a smile on your face.
"why exactly do you need me for this?" calum inquires, his brow furrowed. you reply, "well considering you'll be the one taking it off i figured you might want to help me pick out something" while grinning. despite his flushed cheeks, calum takes a step back, unlocks the car door, and hops inside.
you took calum to the mall and modeled for nearly two hours while looking for the right outfit for your birthday. it had been two hours of no success until one of the last stores you visited had this leather skirt you had been eyeing for a while.
calum couldn't take his eyes off of your body when you emerged from the dressing room. both the halter top you chose and the skirt perfectly complemented one other. you drawled, "sooo?" hoping for a positive response. he answers right away, "yes." when you looked down at yourself, he speaks up again. âthatâs the one, you have to get it.â and you couldn't help but laugh. you nod and examine yourself in the mirror before returning to the dressing room to change into your clothing so you could check out.
you happen to pass a leather jacket on your way to the register. and it just so happens to go well with the skirt. additionally, you observe that calum is examining it longer than anything else you have so added in the store. you made the choice to pick it up, do your best to estimate his size, and continue moving forward to pay.
on the way back to your place you pick up takeout since it was getting late in the evening and you both were starving.
when the two of your arrive home, you get comfortable on the sofa and begin picking out a movie while calum is in the kitchen sorting out the food before bringing it all into the living room. you picked out a movie and the two of you eat in peace, enjoying each others company.
afterwards, you had started cleaning up all the empty containers and throwing it away with the help of calum.
âwill you put the skirt on again? i forgot what it looks likeâ calums asks and you laughed, looking over your shoulder. âseriously?â he nods. you pause for a moment before rolling your eyes and sigh, âfine.â
you walk out of your bedroom in the skirt but you hid something behind your back, looking a bit shy. which was unusual because you never acted like this around calum, so he knew something was up. ây/n, whatâs behind your back?â he asks in a teasing tone and you begin walking towards him slowly. âokay, so, donât be mad but i may have picked you up something too..â
she grins bringing the jacket from behind her and handing it towards him.
âiây/n/n please tell me you didnât buy this leather jacket for meâ you take a few steps forward. âiâve never heard you say please before. this is new.â you say, smirking. calums rolls his eyes but he canât help but smile and you continue, âbut yes i did. i saw you eyeing it so i grabbed itâ
he tries to hide his smile. âwell go on, put it onâ you help him into the jacket and itâs then when he notices. âdid you get this so we could match?â he says laughing. âno i absolutely did not! i just wanted to do something nice for youâ he quickly responds âyou didnât have to go through the trouble of getting more clothes sweetheart. taking some off wouldâve had the same effectâ he chuckles. you playfully hit his chest and say âyouâre insufferable.â you look away but then looks back smiling.
âbut yeah maybe i wanted us to match a little bit. sue meâ he grabs your waist and pulls your closer, you feel his thumb drawing circles on your exposed skin and it sends shivers down your spine. âwell i certainly appreciate the thought, sweets. now we just need an occasion to show up everyoneâ calum teases, leaning in. his lips only inches from yours, you feel your cheeks warm up. âcalum..â you warn but he continues to close the space between the two of you. âitâs just one kiss..â
you hate your birthday, it was the one day of the year you always found yourself to be the most miserable despite having people who loved you around. you still felt so unhappy.
ây/n, are you ready? you canât be late to your own party!â olivia calls out from the living room. you exit your bedroom, meeting her in the room. âiâm ready, im readyâ you say, throwing your bag on your shoulder. ây/n..â you hear olivia sigh, she takes a few steps towards you and puts her hands on your shoulder.
âlighten up. i know you hate your birthday but this year im not
letting you be miserable. kay?â she gently shakes you enough for you to crack a smile and nod, âgoodâ she says, linking her arm with yours.
ânow letâs go before people think you bailed your own birthday party.â
the two of you arrive to the same club where you had first met calum yet this time, the atmosphere was different.
no purple, pink, or red lights. no promotional posters in the windows. instead, you see white paper decorations and warm fairy lights.
you enter the bar in front of olivia and hear a loud uproar of people cheering as you did and some people even popping confetti. you couldnât help but laugh as you walked through the crowd, seeing all of your close friends standing around celebrating you.
olivia was also giddy, knowing she had planned this whole thing along with calum.
âyou guys didnât have to do this!â you said over the music after you saw the cake sitting in the middle of the room, youâre beaming with joy. for the first time in a long time you were excited to be celebrating your birthday.
you spent time greeting people and thanking them.
some of these people you havenât seen in years and it made you feel like things were finally getting better.
just as you were about to catch up with some old friends, the lights dimmed and you heard some light strumming from the nearby stage.
you look over seeing four familiar figures underneath the red stage lights.
âhello everyone,â luke begins, adjusting the mic. âif you all donât know, we are five seconds of summerâ the crowd roars at the name drop and some people are playfully hitting your shoulder not knowing your tied with the band.
âwe just wanted to say we are truly honored to be back at the place we showcased our recent album, and of course to celebrate the birthday girls special day.â .
âso, happy birthday, y/n. we hope you have a wonderful year.â luke beamed.
the set was at least forty-five minutes long, they had played mostly their new stuff off the youngblood album but dropped in a few older songs.
you were over the moon.
to say you had five seconds of summer perform at your birthday party? thatâs huge.
you never thought youâd end up in this position.
to say you had personal connections to people as big as calum, or even the whole band for that matter.
tonight was a night youâd definitely never forget.
standing outside the club, you watch the people inside dance and get lost in each other. the whole scene was almost melancholy- the way everyone was there to celebrate you. the night was near ending and you felt so cramped in there, you thought you'd spend the last few hours of your birthday catching your breath.
"hey you" calum voice interrupts your thoughts, a cigarette between his fingers as he watches you from a close enough distance. you furrow your brows, "didn't know you smoked"
he quickly flicks it to the floor, stepping on it a few times before picking up the trash.
"Is it a turn off?"
"no no i just didn't know" you shrug and look back up at the sky, "i don't think i know anything about you aside from you're good in bed and you like whiskey" he chuckles now, stepping closer to you and placing his hands on your waist.
"well, ask me anything you want"
you watch as he looks away for a moment, searching for the perfect question.
"if you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?"
your eyes don't leave the sky as you think, long and hard about the question. "iâd love to see paris... it's been my dream since i was a child."
you could feel his hands loosen from your waist, he steps infront of you and stared down at your face with a smile. It's almost like he's thinking of what to do or what to say next.
âparis?â he repeats.
you nod, tilting your head to the side, studying him. "what about you?"
calum had now completely removed his arm from your waist as he leans down to rest his elbows on the metal railing.
âconsidering iâve toured around the world, ive been to plenty of amazing placesâ he says, looking back to see if you were looking at him.
âi donât have just one, too many places, not enough time to exploreâ he answered.
you nod, looking away towards the city. the nightlife in downtown los angeles was a lot lively than normal.
probably because your birthday fell on a friday this year, so all of the bars were jam packed and faint music flooded the streets.
you inhale, about to say something as your turn your attention back towards the brunette.
ây/n! cmon!â olivia grabs your wrist pulling you inside and away from calum, towards the large cake so you could blow out the candles.
âcome on birthday girl, make a wish!â olivia cheers along with everyone standing around. you laugh, âokay okay!â. you blow out the candles and everyone begins to cheer. olivia hugs your side and giggles, âwhat did you wish for?â she asks. you grin petting her head, âif i tell you it wonât come true, will it?â your eyes flicker between calum and olivia as you speak.
you hear olivia groan in annoyance. someone amongst the crowd, you guess ashton, you could recognize that arm anywhere, points to the cake and says, "birthday girl gets first pick!"
you finally see his figure merge from behind someone with a plastic plate and knife. "what piece does my girl want?" ashton continues.
you examine the cake once more and point to a corner piece smothered in the purple icing with a kiddish like grin on your face. ashton's nods and begins to cut you a piece.
as it nears the end of the night and the bar slowly begins to empty out, you've found yourself at the bar watching everyone says their goodbye and share a hug with you before leaving the building.
the music was faintly playing now, compared to when you had arrived eariler.
solo cups trashed the floor, paper plates and napkins scattered the bar table. you look down at the glass setting in front of you as you swirl around the liquid contents. you didnât even notice calum approaching.
âhow was your birthday?â he hums, sitting next to you.
âgoodâ you smile, resting your head on your hand. âtonight was good. you did great on stage.â
âyeah?â calum raises his eyebrows, you see a playful smirk forming on his lips. âmhm, very rockstar.â
calum laughs at your comment and then the two of you fall silent, watching as some people begin cleaning up the mess.
âcan i talk to you?â calum questions, turning his focus back to you.
you nod, âyeah, of courseâ
âin private.â he adds.
you raise your eyebrows , wondering what he needs to say that he canât in front of your friends.
âsureâ
calum takes your hand and leads you towards the back door, which you had no idea was back here.
when he opens it, you see a patio with a string of fairy lights surrounding the area.
âyouâre going to think i was stalking you or something, but this just happened by chance. i swear.â calum stands you in front of him as he reaches in his back pocket and hands you a plane ticket.
âweâll be in paris on the first leg of our tour and i had an extra ticket.â he stated. you look up at him wide eyed, then do a double take to make sure you were seeing it right. âcalum..what? iâŚi just i canât just-â
âi want you there.â he adds.
âi want you in paris with me, hell- i want you on the whole tour with me. please, take itâ he offers it to you again, making you take it.
âoh my godâ you mutter, looking down at the ticket now in your hand.
âthe flight is in two days, i know itâs hella last minute but i figured its now or neverâ calum speaks softly.
youâre still at a loss for words, your body working faster than your mind as your wrap your arms around calums figure. âthank you so muchâ you say into his shoulder.
âanytimeâ he hums, hugging you back.
âcmon cal! we gotta head back.â michael can be heard from the bar.
the australian pulls away and offers a warm smile, âsee you in paris..â he says and walks off. âbye..â
youâre quick to whip your phone out and text olivia before heading back to your apartment partment
âyoull never believe what just happenedâ
âis this a good or bad thingâ
âuhh good? i think? i hope soâ
âwell dont leave me in the dark what happenedâ
âcalum gave me a ticket to parisâ âWHAT, Y/N THATS HUGE. are you gonna goâ
âi mean, id feel bad if i didnt. i hate how easy it is for me to like him.â
âweâre so having a debriefing when you get home.â
the plane ride was long and tiresome, eleven hours of being so uncomfortable in the seats and having someone next to you who had no regard for personal space. plus, you just hated planes in general.
but once the plane landed, you felt a wave of relief and soon enough you were off the plane and navigating your way through the foreign airport.
once you get to baggage claim you wait for your luggage and once you have it, you begin looking around for a familiar person.
you round a corner and finally see the one you had been searching for. âthereâs my pretty girlâ calum says, as his eyes lands on you as he makes his way towards you.
âi look awful calumâ you laugh as his arms wrap around you tightly. âno such thingâ he says into your hair before pulling away. âhow was the flight?â he adds, taking your luggage from your hand then linking his free hand with yours while leading you out of the airport.
âlongâ you laugh tiredly, as you watch him load your bags into the back of the car.
the uber back to the hotel that calum was staying at was nice, being able to see nice scenery before youâd sleep for the next twelve hours.
the plan was, youâd sleep for as long as you could until calums show tomorrow, then hopefully, youâd be well rested and enjoy his concert and have a few days in the city to spend with him.
still only as friends..right?
while you start unpacking, calum was helping. âwhen are you going to sleep?â he asks, taking your now empty suitcase and putting it next to his as you were folding and putting the clothes in the dresser. âprobably when i get done here.â you say closing the drawer to the dresser.
âno, youâre notâ calum says, causing you to stop and turn to him. âwhat?â you blurt, harsher than you wanted. âwhat do you mean ânoââ.
âi mean no because iâm taking you out tonight.â âcalumâ you try to interject but he doesnât let you. âwere going out tonight, no ands, ifs,or buts. kay?â he says, walking towards you. âand be sure to wear that skirt, you look good in it.â he whispers into your ear.
âwhat skirt?â you ask, trying to act oblivious.
calum scoffs a little, âyou know the one.â
you finish swiping the last bit of mascara onto your lashes and close the tube, then check yourself in the mirror once more wanting to make sure you outfit was good enough.
âyou done?â you hear calum voice ring the hotel room into the bathroom. âyeah!â you yell back and grab your lipstick, touching up your lips before throwing it and a gloss in your bag and exit the bathroom .
âyou look greatâ calum grins, walking towards you. his arm snaking around your waist and pulling you closer. you grin, taking notice just how good he looks in leather jacket. âso do you, mr.rockstar.â âyeah?â he smiles, you nod. âyeah. you ready?â you ask. âyep let me get my walletâ
the night was nearing an end, you walked down the street next to calum, luke and sierra followed behind the two of you. calum had taken you all over the city, to nice cafes, his favorite spots from the last time he visited, and a museum. it was truly a wonderful day in the city of love.
the four of your turn a corner and suddenly youâre shocked by the bright dazzling lights of the eiffel tower.
youâre starstruck, you mustâve stopped in your tracks became calum looks back at you, âyou cominâ?â he grins, holding out his hand for you to take.
you felt like a kid in a candy store as you approached the structure. it felt like something out of a dream. you werenât sure why you loved the idea of being in paris, but you were here now. standing in front of the famous landmark in the world, it was so beautiful you could cry.
âwow..â you speak breathlessly. the twinkling lights reflected in your eyes, the way it stood out against the dark sky, it felt like the most magical thing you had ever seen.
youâre quick to take your phone out and snap a couple pictures, not wanting to forget this moment. it would be something you would talk about forever.
âhey y/n-â sierra taps your shoulder. your spin around and face the girl, âmm?â
âcare to take a pic of me and luke?â
âsure!â you take the phone from sierra as the couple poses in front of the sight. âiâll take a couple so pose however you wantâ you smile and begin snapping pictures of the two.
luke and sierra were a good couple, they complimented each other very well. and from what youâve seen of sierra she was a good friend and good girlfriend to luke.
âcheck those, make sure you like themâ you hand the phone back to sierra so she can check them.
âperfect! thank you so much!â sierra beams looking at the photos then up at you.
âdo you want some with calum?â she asks.
you look over at calum who was already looking at you. âum, sure!â you hand your phone to sierra.
you and calum stand next to each other and let sierra snap a couple pictures together. luke is standing behind sierra watching as she makes sure to get all the angles.
âbeautiful!â she exclaims with a wide grin as she hands your phone back to you so you could check the pictures.
you swipe through the pictures awhile calum looks over your shoulder.
âgod damnâ the australian begins, âwe look good together.â
and it was true. you did look good together. maybe you could picture being with him more than his âfriendâ.
your eyes flutter open to the soft rays of the sun peeking in through the sheer white curtains of the hotel room. âmorning, prettyâ you hear calum say causing you to look over your shoulder where he sat on the opposite side of the bed.
you groan quietly, rubbing your eyes as you slowly sit up to lean against the headboard. âmorninâ you reply followed by a yawn. âwhat time is it?â ânoonâ calum answers, turning off his phone. âdamnâ you reply knowing youâve slept almost a whole day. âsorryâ you say but calum shakes his head, âdonât apologize, you needed the rest. plus, youâll be well rested for tonightâ he grins, you shake your head and playfully push his shoulder.
âwhatâs on the agenda for today?â you yawn again, and calum leans back on the headboard. âwell, we have to be at the venue at two and soundcheck is at threeâ. he says, checking his phone for the time.
âgood, gives me plenty of time to get readyâ you say, reaching for your phone. âdo you want to leave with me or do you wanna just come whenever youâre done?â you shrug thinking about how long itâll take you to get ready. âi might just uber after iâm done that way i donât have to rush.â you start, ripping the cover off of your legs. âplus itâll give me enough time to make sure i look good for you tonight.â you say with a grin before getting out of the bed and making your way to the bathroom.
calum laughs before calling out to you âyouâre a tease, you know that?â you smile to yourself using water for your shower. âalways!â you holler back.
youâre sat in the back of an uber staring out the back passenger window. the venue isnât very far from the hotel so the ride wasnât too bad. when you arrived you saw the line of fans outside all waiting in queue you smiled to yourself, feeling proud of the band, and calum.
you step out of the vehicle and walked around like a lost puppy trying to look for oliviaâs brother, mark.
you take the time to see everyone waiting in line dressed in their best and looking beautiful.
âoh thank godâ you start, spotting the blonde man. ây/n! you made it!â mark smiles, pulling you in for a hug.
âyeah, thank god, i almost got lost.â mark nods and begins leading you down a long corridor until reaching the dressing rooms. âi figured youâre here for calum?â you look up, staring at him for a moment before blinking. âthat obvious huh?â mark laughs, then hands you a vip laminated lanyard. âkeep this on you, have fun and enjoy the show.â he adds as he pats your shoulder.
you watch as he walks away, taking a deep breath as you open the door peeking your head in. you see the guys spread out in the room until calum looks up from his phone to greet you.
âits about time you got here, i was about to worry.â he says, now pulling you into their dressing room. his tan arms wrap around your figure and you get a whiff of his cologne.
he keeps you close to your side as the other guys come up to greet you. âwas it hard to find?â calum inquires, you shrug, âi walked around the building until i eventually found mark and now im hereâ you laugh. âprobably a little late, traffic was crazyâ
calum smiles, âall good, at least youâre here now. thatâs all that matters.â he says, slinging his arm over your shoulders.
âall right guys, theyâre all ready for youâ some stage manager, you had to guess, said as they popped their head in the door.
you separate from calum as he fixed his in-ear-piece and grabs his bass. you smile at him and give him a thumbs up and watch as he followed behind the other three.
âare you sierra and y/n?â and woman enters the room, her dirty blonde hair was cut to about her shoulders but it was obviously growing out. she had a welcoming smile and comforting aura. the two of you nod. âperfect, iâm hannah i can take you guys to your seats!â she beams and then the two of you follow her out into the arena where she showed where the two of you would be at.
side of the pit, calums side, so it was actually perfect for you. âare you guys going to be on the rest of the tour?â
âi willâ sierra smiles. then hannah turns towards you.
âoh, i donât know yetâ you laugh, taking a swig of your drink.
âwell, iâll be on the tour with the guys so if you every need anything just look for me.â she smiles again. âenjoy the show!â
it was incredible to see, they were truly in their element. each of the acting as if they were born to be on stage.
âwow!â michael hollers about midway through their performance, taking a small break in between songs. luke is still strumming quietly in the background. âparis, how the fuck are we feeling?!â the crowd erupts in loud cheers.
âitâs great to be back after so longâ he continues, then takes a glance at his band mates. âhow are you all liking paris?â
âgood, i love it hereâ luke answers, earning a few hollers from the crowd.
âhow you liking paris, cal?â
âwhat about the view here? itâs such a beautiful placeâ luke interjects.
âyou seen anything nice lately, calum?â luke continues
âyup, the views in my hotel room are amazing.â
your heart stopped, it was subtle. just enough for only you to notice. he was definitely mentioning you.
âdo you mean from?â luke chimes.
you can faintly see calum smile as he laughs into the mic, âyup, my bad.â
âalrighty then.â michael pauses, luke had taken a few steps back from the mic but could still be been laughing.
âthen how about you introduce the next song?â
âthe next song is for all those who end up meeting someone and know it wonât be more than just having fun. and theyâre okay with that. talk fast.â
you wondered what it looked like from their perspective. you turn to face the crowd and youâre overwhelmed with what you see. people screaming their lungs out to the lyrics, some dancing with their friends, you even see some people crying. you also see some signs. some more creative than others, and some sweeter than others.
you manage to spot one that made you a little uncomfortable; âcall me red with the way i be riding hoodâ
sure, clever, but it made you realize that if you had a shot with calum, whatâs stopping him from hooking up with any other fan when youâre not around?
shit.
maybe you did like him more than just a fuck buddy.
during the next intermission you and sierra had made some small talk until you overheard some girls next to you in the pit talking about calum.
âoh iâd totally fuck him.â she says nonchalantly. âi bet you i could easily pull him by the end of the night, i just need to find my way in.â she giggles.
you shift on your feet and turn to sierra who also heard it. âwelcome to my life..â she raises her eyebrows then take a sip of her drink.
you sit in silence on the uber ride back to the hotel. calum sat to your right, you knew he was looking at you and he wanted to ask what was wrong.
did you have a bad night?
was the show bad?
the whole way back to the hotel you hadnât spoken one word to him. you didnât even look at him.
why did you feel like this?
calum wasnât even yours. you had no valid reason to be angry.
except you did.
you were afraid that he would want someone else, that you were easily replaceable. you couldnât deal with that, you couldnât go through another heartbreak.
you shouldâve known that messing with him wouldâve lead to this, but you were naĂŻve and wanted something to distract you from your ex boyfriend.
your feet seem to have a mind of their own as you storm past calum and out into the freezing cold.
"y/n/n, cmon don't be this way", he laughs innocently while pacing himself behind you.
you donât say anything except press the elevator button and wait impatiently for the doors to open. you really couldnât tell anyone why you were being so stubborn, hell, you didnât even know why.
once the doors opened you were quick to slip in and press the button to your floor. you stand with your arms crossed, staring blankly at the metal. doors. you were quietly wishing he would say something, anything at all.
ây/n?â he tries reaching for your arm but you shrug him off. ânot in the mood cal.â you reply. you knew you were being stubborn and very annoying.
he hasnât given you a reason to act this way towards him.
you knew you were overreacting. plain and simple.
*ding*
the elevator doors opened and you walk through the hallway towards your bedroom. you scan the keycard and open the door letting calum follow behind you like a lost puppy.
you throw your purse on the bed and take your jacket off. ây/n. please.â you hear him sigh. calum feels guilty and he doesnât even know what the hell he did. but whatever it was he was going to fix it. he couldnât take you being mad at him like that.
âwhy dont you go bother someone else, looked like there was plenty that would love to be in your bedâ you hiss, the words spilling from your lips like venom.
calum stops in his tracks, also removing the leather jacket from his shoulders and tossing it on the bed. âwhat?â he asks, dumbfounded.
âdonât play dumb, cal.â
âi donât know what you mean, y/n.â he bites back.
âi mean, if you can sleep around with me whatâs stopping you from sleeping with your fans?â you confess.
calum just stares at you, âwhat? what are you talking about?â the bassist was genuinely confused, you had never reacted, at least, not when he was around.
âthe people at the show, cal. the signs, their outfits, the way they talk about you-â
calum cuts you off, âlook, i donât know where this is coming from or why youâre acting like this but-â
âiâm acting like this because it was never just about being friends with benefits calum!â you confess, staring at him intently. âi canât keep acting like im okay with not being able to love you. i donât want to be hurt again. not by youâ
everything came spewing out of you like a waterfall. all the months of pent up frustration and confusion had finally found its way into the world.
you were so frustrated you didnât even realize what you had said, you turn to look out the window and stare at the lights from the city.
calum doesnât say anything, racking his brain to make sure he heard you right. you said you loved him, without really even saying the three words.
âyou said you love me.â
you look over at him, âwhat?â
âyou just said you âcanât keep acting like you donât love meâ.â he repeats.
you shake your head and look away from him. âi didnât.â you try to get him to leave it alone.
âyou didâ he sighs, coming next to you and takes you by the shoulders and turns you to face him. âyou practically said you love me.â
âcalum-â
âi love you too.â he smiled. âi donât know if that means anything now but i do. i have for a while.â he confessed.
ây/n, youâre nothing like i imagined you would be. when i met you that night in the bar i thought youâd be like all the other girls, which i know doesnât help, but; this has been the best past year of my life and i think of you more than someone i fuck occasionally.â calum is looking into your eyes. âyouâre more than that, y/n/n.â
there are tears welling in your eyes, you shake your head. âi donât want to be hurt again. i donât think i could take it.â calum nods, reaching for your hands.
âi understand, but trust me when i say that id never do anything to hurt you, okay?â calum assures, âyouâre everything and more.â
*buzz*
*buzz buzz*
you groan and reach for your phone, opening one eye to look at the notifications. you have over ten messages and five calls from olivia. you sigh, wanting to ignore her antics but maybe it was an emergency. you unlock your phone and see all the messages.
âgirl check instagram.â
âwhat time is it thereâs
âare you asleep?â
âomg omg y/n!!!!â
âyouâre not gonna believe this.â
âgirl iâm freaking out !!!!!â
ây/n please check your instagram.
âyouâre gonna flip.â
â please wake up.â
âiâm calling youâ
you sit up in confusion and then check your other notifications to see over hundreds of notifications from instagram. âwhat the hellâ you croak and then open the app.
âcalumhood tagged you in a post.â
you swipe through the pictures until you see the very last picture which was you standing in front of the eiffel tower with your back turned to him admiring the view and then you saw the caption; âthey say paris is the city of love <3â
you practically shoot up from your position staring wide eyed at the phone. you read some of the comments in a panic.
âlukehemmings: itâs about damn timeâ
ashtonirwin: finally! donât hurt my girl;)
calumhood replying to ashtonirwin: your girl?
ashtonirwin replying to calumhood: yep:)
michaelclifford: called it!
sierradeaton: you posted the pic !! omg !!!
5sos_updates: the last slide omg!?!? also last night was crazy!
iheartcalumhood: whoâs the girl?
âcalum??â you say out, hoping he was still in the room.
you hear the bathroom door open. âyeah?â he asks walking around the corner only dressed in a pair of basketball shorts.
âwhy did you post that?â you ask showing him the instagram post. âi wanted to prove to you that everything i said last night is trueâ
you blink, staring at him with little to no expression. âyour first thought to do that was post me on your instagram?â
âuhh i guess? should i not have done that?â you crack a smile and look down at your phone, âi cant believe you, cal.â you say, falling back on the bed to scroll through more comments.
âcanât go back on it nowâ he says, standing at the foot at the bed.
âyouâre stuck with me foreverâ he says crawling on the bed, hovering over your figure. âreally? because ashton said i was his girl. sounds like you have some competition, hood.â you state, showing calum his comment.
he takes your phone and tosses it somewhere else on the bed. ânope, youâre my girl forever and always.â he hums leaning in to leave kisses on your neck which earned giggles from you. âcalum!â

i'll make up for all of your tears
Fic 1 of the 5 Seconds of Formula One series
Pairing: Max Verstappen x Reader
Song: Best Years by 5SOS
You've got a million reasons to hesitate
But darling, the future's better than yesterday
"This is a grade-F diamond, sir. It's 2 carats with a platinum band." The salesperson at the store started explaining as Max zoned out.
Being a Formula One Driver with multiple championships under his belt came with the perk of getting everything he wished for, and boy did he use it. However, the thing he wanted most, unfortunately, didn't come with a price tag on it.
He hated the name Y/N L/N, not the first part, the L/N part. He's been working tirelessly since he was 3 to change it to Verstappen and he's closer now than he ever was. Yet a little voice in him constantly whispered "What if you're not good enough for her?" Max knew that voice wasn't wrong.
2015
Max really missed his best friend. He was extremely grateful that he was on a flight home right now because he wasn't sure how long his sanity would last.
Max was ready to sprint to your house the minute they landed, but his father had other plans. Jos had arranged for a meeting with Max's team to discuss the season so far. Scoring points in his debut Formula One season wasn't something Max expected. He knew it was expected of him but never by him. Maybe it was beginner's luck or maybe he let it get to his head, he couldn't score any points in the last few races.
By the time the meeting was over, Max wasn't sure if he was still alive. He was tormented ruthlessly by his dad. He knew it was all for his good. Everything his dad ever did was for Max to become the World Champion one day. He understood that and he was beyond guilty for messing with that plan with his incompetency. Before he realised, his legs had brought him to your doorstep.
"Maxie! You're back!" The smile on your face was enough for Max. He spent the rest of the day in your room while you caught him up to speed with everything that had happened while he was away. "Oh and then Anton kissed me at the formal! It was beautiful, Max. He brought me flowers and everything" Max could feel his eyes twitching.
He wanted to be your first kiss. He knew he wouldn't be able to make it to the dance, but he didn't know he'd be losing you that night. "Anton kissed you?" he tried to remain calm. "Yes. Love Me Like You Do was playing, and it was all very romantic. You were right, Max. It was worth the wait. He even asked me out!" He was about to lose it.
Every time you complained that you hadn't had your first kiss yet, Max would ask you to be patient. He wanted to make something of himself before he kissed you and now it backfired on him spectacularly. "You let Anton kiss you?? That wimpy little bastard?" Anton wasn't going to win a beauty pageant any time soon but you liked him. He was your boyfriend.
"Don't call him that, Maxie. I really like him. He's nice to me."
"Yeah sure, did he have to use his inhaler mid-kiss?"
"Max that is so rude! Can you not be a jerk?" You tried your best to reason with him. "No no. I wish you and Anton a happy relationship. Don't come crying to me when you find out his dick is smaller than your pinky." Max stormed out of the room, slamming the door on his way out. He knew he crossed a line. He could hear you crying. He hated the person he was in that room.
I wasted so much time on people that reminded me of you
Gave you a million reasons to walk away
Present Day
He'd been to every jeweller in Monte Carlo. Not a single one of them had a ring that would be worthy of your hand. Max was getting frustrated. He can't screw up the ring. It's the only thing that matters in a proposal. No one ever asks "Can I hear the long lame speech Max said on one knee?", it's always "Can I see the ring?" He sighed as he entered another store, Chaumet. It was supposed to have some unique pieces. The same warm tight smile welcomed him in the store. He explained to the salesperson what he was looking for. He was shown the same basic rings he saw in the last eight shops.
"No. No. No, none of these are good. I'm looking for something unique. Something extraordinary. This person means everything to me and while the ring can never be worthy of her, I want it to try." Max was exasperated. His throat was starting to close up and he looked like he was about to strangle someone. The employee gave a polite smile and went to the back. He returned with a small box.
"This is a pear-cut Amsterdam diamond. It's our rarest piece. This isn't for public display but I think this is exactly what you're looking for." The salesperson had a smirk that was proud yet humble at the same time. Max hesitantly took a closer look at the ring. It wasn't huge but it surely looked rare and exotic, just like you. "I'll take it"
2018
As you've done every year, you showed up to the Kumpen Christmas Dinner. But this time there was a man by your side. Lo and behold, it was Anton. To Max's frustration, Anton had quite the glow-up. He was no longer the skimpy little kid with an inhaler. And Max couldn't bear looking at you look at him like he hung the fucking moon and stars for you. You were supposed to look at Max that way.
"So, Max, how are things in F1 world?" You made polite conversation as you cut your steak. "It's alright," Max replied. "You know, Anton works at Goldman Sachs. Aren't they a sponsor of some Formula One team?" You questioned. "Ah yes. We sponsor Mclaren." Anton smiled. "Maybe you two should visit Max during one of his races next season. Wouldn't that be nice?" Sophie suggested. "Oh, that would be fun! We should plan that, Max." You were excited by the idea.
"I don't know. Christian wouldn't be happy with letting in Mclaren people in the garage."
"We'd come as your friends"
"Yeah, I don't think so." Max stood up dropped his serviette and walked out the door. Of course, it wasn't his first time walking out of a room you were in.
Max knew it was a really bad idea to go to a strip club. He makes bad decisions even when calm and sober, who knows what will happen when he's angry and shit-faced. He was cold from walking in the snow for the last three hours and it was the only place open at 1 am on Christmas Day.
He couldn't see well in the dark but he sort of remembered tipping a stripper âŹ1000 for a lap dance. He was getting angrier by the second. He was losing you by the second and there was nothing he could do to get you. He waited too long and everything slipped away from him. He had officially hit rock bottom.
"Hey, sexy. I'm Y/N. You here all by yourself?" Max thought he was hallucinating. There was no way you were at the strip club. He turned to see a blonde in a baby-blue bodysuit. It wasn't his Y/N. "What's your name?" Max slurred. "It's Y/N. But I can be whatever you want tonight." She started running her finger up his torso. "No. No. I want you to be Y/N." Max got up and dragged her to the private room.
I wanna hold you hair when you drink too much
Carry you home when you cannot stand up
Present Day
It's been a week since Max got the ring. He kept it safely hidden. He couldn't find the perfect moment to pop the question. He wanted everything to be perfect for his perfect girl. He can't mess this up.
2020
"He broke up with me" You stood in front of his flat. Max took a second to process the sight in front of him. You were clearly drunk and had been crying. Your makeup was running down your face. There was a dirty bouquet tightly clutched in your hands. Max simply brought you in and sat you on the couch while he went to grab some wet wipes.
He could hear your quiet sobs from his room. His heart broke to see you like this. He wanted to kill Anton. That motherfucker should've been dead long ago. He was spared for Y/N. Nothing was protecting him now. Max put away those thoughts for a bit and worked on getting you sober.
He walked into the living room. "I threw up." You said staring at the ceiling. There weren't any emotions in your eyes. You looked like a shell of the person you once were. Max carried you to the bathroom. He'd worry about the mess later.
He sat you on the counter and started wiping away your makeup and tears. You soon started to heave and leapt towards the toilet. Max held your hair back as you were throwing up. Part of him knew this was his redemption. This was his chance to make you, his. Unfortunately, he was raised better. He wasn't going to ask you out until he was worthy of you. He discarded those thoughts and carried you to the bed, pulling a duvet over you.
"Maxie, I'm still mad at you for not making it to the formal." He heard you mumble with your eyes still closed. "Me too, schatje. Me too." He whispered and turned off the light.
But I'll build a house out of the mess And all the broken pieces I'll make up for all of your tears
Present Day
Max could barely focus on the slides. He was stuck in an aero meeting, but his thoughts were all on the little black box burning a hole in his pocket. Of course, he carried it to Milton Keynes. He carries it everywhere.
He replayed every scenario where he was an asshole to you. You forgave him every time, but he knew he wasn't worthy of your forgiveness. You were too pure, too sweet for him. One misstep and you'll recoil away from forever. His stomach gurgled and he started sweating. He could feel his heartbeat racing.
"Excuse me." He walked out of the room with the little modesty left in him before sprinting outside. Fresh air and your voice are the only things that could save him now.Â
âHey. Itâs me.â
2021
Everything was down to the last lap. This was everything Max had worked for. Every late night, every lashing from his dad, every missed formal, every second he spent away from you. It was all for this very second. As he turned towards Turn 16 in the Yas Marina Circuit, your face was all he could see. The chequered flag waved as he crossed the line. Heâs won the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, heâs won the World Driverâs Championship. Most importantly, heâs won you. Heâs finally worthy of you.Â
He could not care less about the controversy surrounding his win. He parked his car in the No. 1 spot and ran towards his team. This was his moment, he wasnât going to let some legal altercations take it away from him.Â
He spotted you in the crowd from the podium, you were crying and screaming the Dutch National Anthem. After the champagne, he chucked the trophy at his physio and ran to you. He wasnât going to wait anymore. No more missing anything. He was all yours if you had him.Â
You were waiting for him near the Red Bull garage. âY/N. I need to talk to you.â Before you could reply, he pulled you aside. âIâve waited long enough. I spent the last 21 years making a better man of myself. I donât know if that cancels out on all the times Iâve been rude and insensitive to you. But schatje, I promise, from this second I will do everything in my ability to make myself worthy of you and your love.âÂ
I promise, darling, you won't regret The best years I'll give you the best years
Present Day
You were gonna come home any minute. Max had spent the entire day cleaning the house and cleaning it again. He even pulled out some Christmas lights and decorated the living room. âMaybe I should light some candlesâ He wondered out loud. Jimmy jumped onto the sofa from nowhere, scaring Max and negating the candle idea.Â
When he said he was going to ask you to marry him in your house, his friends and family considered it a bit unromantic. His mum and sister went as far as sending him blogs titled âTop 10 romantic spots to get engagedâ But this house was more than just a house, it was home. The pair of you carefully curated and constructed this house, making it your very own.Â
The Smart Home system alerted Max that there was movement in the garage. You were here. He did a quick sweep of the room and sighed. He wasnât sure if the sigh was out of anxiety or happiness, but he was going to find out in about 5 minutes.
The front door opened. âMax. Iâm home.â You called out like you did every day. You placed your keys on the little Lighting McQueen and Sally key stand on the wall. Sassy was already nudging at your legs begging for attention. âHey, girly. Whereâs daddy?â You cooed. The house was a little too quiet. Maybe Max was in the sim room. You walked to the living room and turned the lights on.Â
âWhat the fuck?â were the first words to come out of your mouth when you saw the entire room glowing with Christmas Lights and Max on one knee in the middle of the room. You must be asleep. There is no way this is happening.Â
âHi.âÂ
âHi.â You started to tear up.
âY/N. Iâve given you a million reasons to hesitate, a million reasons to walk away. Yet you stayed by me, every single time. I couldnât ask for a better friend, a better lover and a better wife to spend the rest of my life with. Iâve wasted so much time on people that reminded me of you when I shouldâve been by your side. I want to hold your hand as we grow old. I want to carry you home when you cannot stand up. You did all those things for me when I was half a man for you. But darling, I promise, Iâll give you the best years. Will you marry me?âÂ
âYes, Max. I want to marry you.â

emergency contact | calum hood x fem!reader
FUCK this took so long and took so many twists and turns but i have finished lads
summary: you end up in the hospital after an accident, only to find that your emergency contact number hadnât been updated. you are yet to find out if itâs a blessing or a curse.Â
word count: 8.9k
warnings: self doubt, talking down about oneself, she/her pronoun usage, swearing, breakups, angst, drinking, car accident, hospital mentions, injury mentions, mentions of weed, partying, fighting
author's note: it might be rushed at the end and there's no set timeline of events, so it might not align with the true events IRL.
i also would like to say that we support girls here! no hate toward anyone, girls support girls!
In defense of yourself, you hadnât expected to be back in Los Angeles so soon. Nor had you anticipated an accident like this to update your contacts on your phone. It was on the back of your mind, yes, but you had intended to change your emergency contact list on your phone for events like these. It was something youâd remind yourself occasionally, only to push it off for the next day, then the next day, then forget about it altogether.Â
And perhaps you were too cowardly to change the list. You didnât admit this to another soul since it had been nearly a year since the two of you broke things off. Your friends time and time again had persuaded you to put yourself back on the market, to get over the musician. But how could you? You had dedicated the best years of your life to him, nearly six of them. You thought you were going to marry the man, but life had other plans.Â
That being said, you still loved him. The small act of removing him off your emergency contacts list felt so final to you. Like that was the end of your sad little love story with him. Truth be told, it was the end. It was the end from the moment you broke things off with him. You were just too stubborn to admit that to yourself.Â
It was your doing, wasnât it? You were the one to tell him it was over. He had just gotten back home from their tour and went to greet you with open arms. You had been wretched enough to deny him that, pulling away immediately. You ignored his eyes when you told him you were tired of your lifestyle. Of waiting on him like a dog for him to come back from tour. Of relishing that one month of being together like it was the last thing on earth, only for him to leave once again for tours or writing retreats.Â
And most of all, you were tired of not feeling enough for him. In the world of popular and beautiful stars, why did he stay with you? Calum never made you feel so ordinary, not on purpose, at least. You had nothing to offer him other than your love. You feared that wouldnât be enough in the end. The more years that passed, and the closer the possibility of marriage became, you thought it would be better to let go of him first before he ended up resenting you for not choosing someone better when he had the chance.Â
You didnât listen to his pleas for you to stay. Or his professions of love for you, or how his promise to leave the band entirely if it meant you staying. You felt so cruel to let someone who loved you so much go so easily. He was willing to give up his music for you, so how could you ever claim that you were second best to his music?Â
But that was the very thing, you were afraid. He loved you so much that he was willing to let his entire life go for you. You couldnât let him do that to himself, to let go of his happiness. But you had enough self dignity to know that you deserved more out of life than waiting in an empty home to fill up again.Â
â
Calum wasnât sure what to make of the phone call he received just a moment ago. He never thought heâd hear your name again, much less be summoned to the hospital to see you.Â
âMate, why are you still here?â Ashton asked, tucking away his drumsticks. âThe nurse called you a half hour ago. Arenât you going to see her?âÂ
âI donât know,â Calum uttered truthfully. âItâs been so long since I last saw her. It was probably a mistake, right? Why would they call me up?âÂ
Michael rolled his eyes from the couch where he was tuning his guitar. âBecause youâre still down as her emergency contact,â he drawled sarcastically.Â
âThanks for pointing out the obvious,â Calum deadpanned. âI mean, why would they call me and not her parents or something? Or her new boyfriend,â he muttered under his breath.Â
Luke approached the group from the bathroom, running his fingers through his hair. âEasy there, tiger,â he teased, grasping Calumâs shoulders from behind. âOne might assume youâre jealous.â The youngest of the group quickly dodged the bassistâs shove, laughing while doing so. âTo calm your worries, no, she doesnât have a new boy in her life. And her parents moved to the east coast three months ago so they canât come over.â
âWell arenât you the stalker,â Ashton snickered.Â
Luke shot the drummer a glare. âIâm not a stalker,â Luke defended himself. âIn case you actually wanted to know, I still keep contact with y/n. At least Sierra does for the most part. Though, last time I heard she was in Boston.âÂ
âBoston,â Calum spoke up in confusion. âWhatâs she in Boston for? And how did she end up here?âÂ
Luke clicked his tongue, a knowing look on his face. âIf you want to know, you can ask her yourself,â he sang in an annoying tone.Â
Michael set his guitar down and stood up in defense of his friend. âWhile thatâs true,â he began. âWhat about..you know?â
âWhat about âyou know?ââ Ashton piped up. âThereâs no harm in Calum going. She could really be hurt and need someone with her. If what Luke said is true and youâre the only nearby emergency contact, itâs better safe than sorry that you go to her.âÂ
The boys shared a look with each other. In their heart of hearts they knew it was a bad idea to let Calum go, especially after everything that had happened. But a selfish part of them wanted their best friend back, so what harm was in that notion?Â
âIâll go,â Calum finally relented. âBut sheâs coming with me.âÂ
â
When Calum arrived at the hospital, he wasnât sure what he was expecting. The doctor explained it was a car accident, and although you were recovering okay you still had to be observed after minor surgery. A part of Calumâs heartstrings tugged at the thought of you alone and afraid during the accident, thinking he could have done something if you hadnât broken things off, but he pushed that feeling down. Itâs been a year; youâve probably gotten over him and heâs started a new chapter of his life without you.Â
Calum followed the nurse to the recovery room where you were still unconscious. At the sight of you, he instantly lost all air in his lungs. Frozen, the bassist stood before you with a mix of emotions flooding through his face.Â
It was as though you were entirely different but still the same in some way. Your face, albeit bruised, looked more peaceful than Calum had seen of you. Hell, even before you broke things off you always had a furrowed brow or frown of some sort. It broke Calumâs heart to know that he was the cause of that stress.Â
Calum sat down beside you, instantly grasping your hand like second nature. It was just as soft as he could remember, and your nail polish was chipped and stained the skin surrounding it. Calum chuckled to himself, a tearful smile on his face. He knew your nail polish was your own doing, seeing as you had always asked him to paint your nails since he had âmore precision.âÂ
âOh y/n,â he whispered, his voice cracking slightly. âWhat the hell did you get yourself into now?â
âWouldnât you like to know.âÂ
Calum jerked back to see your eyes staring back at him. âHi, stranger,â you managed to crack a smile. âWhat brings you to this hospital?â
Calum choked out a laugh, his thumb grazing against the top of your hand. âOh you know me,â he said. âAlways hanging around these parts whenever I get the chance.âÂ
âYou idiot,â you snorted, shaking your head and wincing in pain.
âEasy now,â Calum reached over to cup your cheek. âThe doctor said you have a mild concussion and a sprained ankle, but nothing a bit of rest canât fix.â
Your hand met his on your face, instantly warming to his touch like nothing had changed between the two of you. âWhy are you here, Hood?â you asked curiously.
âYou tell me.â Calum pulled out his phone and showed his past calls list. âI got a call from the hospital saying I was your emergency contact.âÂ
You dropped his hand and covered your face in embarrassment. If your headache wasnât killing you, the sheer embarrassment was. âOh my God,â you groaned. âIâm so sorry, Calum. I had meant to change it but I never got the chance andââ
âItâs alright,â Calum calmed you down. âRelax. Iâm not mad or anything. If anything, this gave us a great opportunity to reconnect and catch up on things. Itâs been what, a year?â
One year, three months, twenty eight days, and twelve and a half hours, the both of you thought subconsciously. But whoâs counting?Â
The both of you were. Clearly.
âSomething like that,â you lied smoothly. âHow are you? How are the boys? Iâve kept contact with Crys and Sierra, but I havenât had a chance to meet with them both. I was actually planning on shooting them a text as soon as I landed here, but obviously I havenât had the chance.âÂ
Calum laughed at your blunt humor. He missed that a lot about you. âIâm alright,â he replied. âThe boys are great, too. They send their love, by the way. Weâve been cooped up at the studio writing and producing music, though you probably expected that from us.â
Ouch. Was that a dig toward why you broke up with him? âNaturally,â you grinned. âDo I make a special feature in this album? The trashy ex that broke up with the bassist as soon as the tour ended? You best get back to the studio, Iâm sure this whole debacle has given you something to write about.âÂ
âYou are far from trashy,â Calum countered, continuing the light banter. âAnd Iâm not going to throw your dirty laundry out like that, I have some taste, you know.âÂ
âOh come on,â you pressed. âThat hoe called me back, gave me a heart attack,â you sang terribly, making Calum cover his ears. âOh yeah she broke my heart, thatâs not even the start-â
âOi, quit that!â he laughed. âLeave the songwriting to me because good God that was terrible. Any more of that and youâd put me in the hospital bed next to you. And please do not call yourself a hoe. Thatâs worse than Luke calling Ash âdaddy.ââÂ
Once your laughter had died down and you ran out of lyrics to spew, a comfortable silence filled the room. His chocolate brown eyes rested down at your joined hands.Â
âThank you, by the way,â you spoke to break the silence. âFor coming. You didnât have to do that.âÂ
âFor my trashy ex?â he teased, a smirk dancing along his lips. âIâd do anything.âÂ
God why did you break up with him? He was perfect, still is. Why does he still tug at your heartstrings and make you weak with one smile. How could you still feel this way after a whole year? Do you still love him-
âBabe, there you are! This place is a maze, I could barely understand the nurseâs directions.âÂ
You turned your head so fast, you nearly got whiplash again. Standing before you was a beautiful girl with the most luxurious beach waves and tan that every girl dreamed of.Â
She bent down to kiss Calumâs cheek swiftly, making your breath hitch without you realizing. The girl smiled at you, taking your hand -that Calum instantly dropped at the sound of her voice- and squeezing it. âYou must be y/n,â she concluded cheerfully. âIâm Tia, Calumâs friend.âÂ
â
âThey are so not friends,â you grumbled to your friends, days after the initial encounter.Â
Your friends chuckled at your gray demeanor, each of them taking sips of their coffee or bites of their breakfast. After being discharged from the hospital, the band and their significant others thought it would be perfect to catch up with you during brunch. You had agreed, eager to learn about everything you missed, especially the new couple.Â
âYouâd be right and wrong, n/n,â Michael replied, setting his mug down. The group was significantly more relaxed to talk about the subject considering Tia needed to take a phone call and Calum insisted on accompanying her. âThe way theyâre friends isnât the same as how heâs friends with usââ
âSpeak for yourself, baby, Calum keeps my bed warm whenever Sierraâs out,â Luke teased with a wiggle of his eyebrows. Sierra rolled her eyes playfully, elbowing him in the ribs.Â
âAnd Luke keeps mine warm when theyâre both gone,â Ashton chimed in without missing a beat.
Michael sent the youngest and oldest members a glare before continuing. âAs I was saying,â he huffed exasperatedly. âTheyâre in the weird phase between friends and dating. They met a little after the tour and were friends for a while. It was Tia that made the move on Calum, like, two months ago.â
Noticing the stark difference in your facial expressions after hearing Michaelâs explanation, Crystal came in to quickly finish the story. âHe hasnât confirmed or denied anything, but they have been on a few dates. Heâs taking it very slowly.âÂ
âThatâs..nice to hear,â you slowly began. âBut the more I hear about her, the more guilty I feel about feeling this way.â Your shoulders caved in as your friends shared a concerned look. âShe seems sweet, and Calum and I are old news. It was my own decision to break things off in the first place.âÂ
Sierra reached for your hand, squeezing it gently. âWhy did you break things off with him?â she asked in a quieter voice.Â
You couldnât help but notice how the rest of the group leaned in to hear your answer. âYou mean Calum didnât tell you?â you inquired the boys.Â
âHe just said it was mutual,â Ashton raised his hands up in defense. âI didnât know you broke it off with him.âÂ
âWhy didnât you tell us she broke up with Cal?â Luke whisper-shouted to his partner.Â
Sierra only shrugged her shoulders. âI thought you knew,â she responded, her hands grasping around her mug as she took a sip.
âNo one knew,â you settled. âAnd itâs going to stay that way.âÂ
The group let out shouts of disapproval that were instantly quieted once Calum finally returned and took a seat. âWhatâs the fuss about?â he asked curiously.Â
You shook your head, taking an overly healthy sip of your mimosa. âOh you know,â you sighed. âTypical group shenanigans, as per usual.âÂ
âWhat kind-?â he pressed before being curtly interrupted.
âWhereâs Tia?â Luke cut in, saving everyoneâs necks for the time being.Â
Calum took in a draw of breath after stealing Lukeâs cup of coffee, much to the singerâs distaste. âOh you know,â he copied you teasingly. âManager calls, as per usual.âÂ
âSheâs been getting plenty of calls lately,â Crystal commented.Â
You tried to not show immense interest in the conversation. After all, you didnât know much about Tia and the group had been too distracted to show you her Instagram profile, damn Michael and his random tangents. In the meantime, you absentmindedly twirled your straw between your thumb and forefinger as the conversation continued.Â
âTiaâs getting a lot of public interest, what can I say?â Calum responded. âHer videos are getting more views every day. Her managerâs been calling her nonstop since companies keep reaching out to offer brand deal after brand deal.âÂ
Ashton let out a hopeful sigh. âImagine having a brand deal set for life,â he pondered aloud, setting his salad fork down. âIâd adopt more goats and expand the garden.âÂ
âCool it, Old McDonald,â Michael snickered. âI canât imagine the band doing brand deals. Remember One Direction and their Pepsi commercials during the Super Bowl? Louis hated them.âÂ
The table laughed, recalling the memory. Recognizing your confusion regarding Tiaâs profession, Sierra leaned in. âSheâs an Instagram influencer and interior designer. She went to school for design but has branched out since. Last time I browsed her page she was doing promos for some yoga company.âÂ
âGreat, so sheâs perfect,â you grumbled to yourself, quiet enough for only Ashton to hear since he was right beside you. The drummer snorted, elbowing you roughly.Â
Calum, thankfully deaf to your comment, nodded along to Sierraâs explanation. âSheâs great,â he hummed.Â
Your heart clenched at his words, but a hopeful side of yourself couldnât help but perk at his courtness. Of course, it could be just to spare your feelings to not speak much about her. But a selfish part in your mind wondered if it was because she wasnât his missing piece, the way that you fit perfectly for him.Â
Stop that, you scolded yourself. Calum is no longer yours, you made sure of that. You were the selfish one who pushed him away. Why do you continue to torture him when heâs finally happy, no thanks to you. You canât continue to pull him back, thatâs why you broke up with him. And here you are, falling back into old habits.Â
You blinked back your tears, the tears you had so desperately fought back since the day you broke up with him. You didnât deserve to shed these tears when you caused the problem in the first place. Instead, you sucked in a breath and maintained your rigid composure. Itâs better than falling apart, which you more than desperately wanted to do at the moment.Â
ây/n, you alright?â Calum asked, breaking you from your trance.Â
You jumped slightly, lifting your head to face the group. Forcing a smile, you nodded. âPerfectly fine.âÂ
â
You werenât sure why you were called here. After becoming mutuals on Instagram (and thoroughly stalking her pristine profile) Tia was quick to invite you out for yoga. You werenât too keen on attempting yoga with a certified instructor, much preferring to save face in front of the already perfect girl. However, you found her nice and sweet enough to befriend despite the heartache it caused you.Â
âIâm really glad you agreed to come with me today,â Tia told you honestly as you finished your session for the day.Â
You settled yourself onto the mat, easing yourself into a simple stretch. âIâm glad you offered,â you replied, grunting at the ache panging slightly in your ankle. You were careful not to apply extra stress on your injured foot since it was still tender to the touch at times. âIâve been eager to relax, especially after that accident.âÂ
âAnd you deserve it,â Tia reassured you, beginning her own routine. âYogaâs good for recovery and stress, Iâve always tried to convince Cal into joining but he wasnât the most graceful learner.âÂ
You giggled, recalling how clumsy the bassist would be. âYeah, Iâd leave that to Ashton.âÂ
Tia nodded in agreement. Her fingers danced down her leg as she continued to stretch. Even as jealous as you were of her, you had to admit she was graceful in everything she did (and you were sure of it with a simple browse through her Tiktoks).Â
The two of you stepped out of the yoga studio, mats in tow as you continued to talk about random nonsense. On the walk back to your friendâs house -you had been staying there for the time being-, you came to realize that Tia was as genuine as they come and found it very difficult to dislike her out of jealousy.Â
âSo you know how Cal and I met,â Tia began, referencing the story of how the two met at an awards show. âHow did you and Calum meet and get together?âÂ
Your mouth went dry. She knew you and Calum were a thing in the past? âI-â you stammered.Â
Tia laughed at your sudden awkwardness. âIâm not dumb, you know,â she joked. âI knew about yours and Calâs past. He talks a lot about you, you know? More now than ever now that youâre back.âÂ
You had to stop the butterflies forming in your stomach. âHe does?â you catch yourself saying instantly.Â
Tia nodded, uncapping her bottle and taking a sip of water. âOh yeah, big time,â she answered. âItâs really sweet to know that you made such a big impact on his life.âÂ
Your cheeks began to warm at her words. âHe did the same,â you responded with full honesty. Tia patted your shoulder and grinned. âTo answer your question, I met Calum a little over ten years ago, once the band started getting famous. I was just a senior in high school when they moved to L.A. I interned at their studio and thatâs how we formally met.â
Tia gave you an impressed nod. âYou guys got history,â she mused.Â
You couldnât help but smile. The memories of the past always brought a smile to your face. Dyeing Michaelâs hair and staining your bathtub red, constantly buying Ash bandanas whenever you came across one you knew heâd like. Luke coming to you when he had writerâs block, and Cal crawling through your bedroom window whenever he felt homesick and wanted someone to talk to.Â
âWe do,â you agreed.Â
Turning a corner down the street, Tia continued to ask you questions. âWho asked who out?â she questioned. âThree years of being friends turned partners was clearly not an overnight thing.âÂ
âIt wasnât,â you said. âIt was Calum who asked me, but it took a whole lot of convincing from the boys.â You laughed quietly to yourself, recalling how he asked you to be your girlfriend.Â
You heard music playing softly in the night air. You had been studying nonstop for your college finals and hadnât seen the outside of your dorm all day. You hadnât called the boys in a while either since theyâve been touring the world after releasing Sounds Good Feels Good. You were significantly proud of them but youâd be lying if you said you didnât miss your boys. Now, hearing the soft guitar strumming from outside your window made you feel more longingful for them than ever.Â
Especially Calum. You had a soft spot for the bassist, everyone knew that. You spent the most time with him when you interned at the music studio. He trusted your opinion above everyone elseâs, and reached out to you the most while on tour. To say you had a little crush on him would be an understatement. The boys teased you relentlessly and teased Calum much more. They always said it was a matter of time until one of you would cave in and confess to the other. But they were wrong. Youâre here in a small college dorm with no air conditioning single as can be while the boy you loved was halfway across the world.Â
âThinking of you,â you texted Calum with a heavy heart. âAnd the boys, ofc :PâÂ
You set your phone down and attempted to go back to studying when your phone pinged again.Â
âYou donât have to feel so blue, n/n,â he responded. âLook outsideâ
You hopped out of bed and opened your window as much as the old rusty thing could go. On the campus grass were your favorite boys flashing lights from their phones at you. Calum was resting on Ashtonâs shoulders, waving at you with the wild boyish smile you loved with your entire being. Michael and Luke were beside him, Michael playing the guitar and Luke grinning and filming.Â
Concentrating hard, you recognized the sweet melody. It was the very song you wrote with him, Beside You.Â
âShe sleeps alone
My heart wants to come home
I wish I was, I wish I was
Beside youâ
Your heart did somersaults at the presentation before you. You had always begged Calum to sing more for the album but the boy was too shy. It took some pushing but you helped him get his confidence up. Taking a cardigan, you ran out of your hall and joined the boys on the lawn, tackling each of them into a hug.Â
âWhat the hellâs wrong with you!â you shouted out with a grin. You didnât care if your yelling woke up your peers. Your boys were here in the flesh.Â
âWe missed our girl,â Ashton told you, giving you a strong bear hug.Â
âOne of us more than the rest,â Luke added with a cheeky smirk.Â
Calum had long been off Ashtonâs shoulders, awaiting your hugs he missed so much. You, on the other hand, hesitated to do so.Â
âCome on!â Michael playfully shoved you. âWeâve come all this way, give the boy a hug!âÂ
Your face was on fire. The extra pairs of eyes made you embarrassed. Calum took an extra step forward, his hands bashfully in his pockets.Â
âDidnât you miss me, sunshine?â he asked you, awfully shy now after his confession of love. He was nervous he put you off and that he read the signs wrong.Â
âI did,â you whispered back, equally shy. âBut I think I want something more than a hug.âÂ
The boys let out whoops and cheers of joy as you decided to bite the bullet, grabbing Calum by the loops of his jeans and pulling him into a kiss.
Once you had pulled away, Calumâs lips formed into a dazed smile. âBe my girl, sunshine?â he asked you softly.
You pressed your lips against his once again, though this one was much shorter. âI was always yours, Calum.â
âWhy did you and him end things, y/n?â Tia asked you, bringing you out of your thoughts. You seemed to be stuck in a trance these days, always pondering over the past and what could have been.Â
You chewed the inside of your cheek, truly at a loss of words. What could you say? That you had been selfish and pushed him away so that he wouldnât end up hurting you first? That you drove the knife deep into Calum, twisting it in every way shape and form out of self preservation? There was no other way to put it than that in your mind.Â
âTime heals but also kills,â you told her with a broken smile. âCal and I decided to put ourselves out of our misery and end things while they were good before it got worse.â It wasnât completely a lie. Sure, he had no say in your ending things, but you spoke the truth about putting him out of his misery.
âDo you still love him?â she asked.Â
You glanced over at her. Her eyes shone in the light, curious and innocent. She didnât know the pain you both had endured that landed you in this position.Â
Yes, your heart cried out. You love him. You love him with your entire being, thatâs why you let him go. Because youâd rather kill your soul every single day of your life than stop him from reaching his life goals. If you had to go through that awful night that you broke your own heart again, you would, just to ensure that he is happy.Â
Even if that meant that he would be happy with someone else.Â
âHeâs my first love,â you told her tearfully. âOf course I love him. But I am not his love, and that is okay with me. Life goes on, and so should I.âÂ
The two of you stopped in front of your friendâs house. Tia took your hand and squeezed it. âI really do appreciate you coming along with me today,â she said earnestly. âAnd Iâm glad I got to hear about you and Calâs history. It really puts things into perspective.âÂ
You smiled back at her. âThank you for having me,â you responded. âI hope my words havenât changed anything between the two of you. I meant what I said; him and I are in the past. I truly want the both of us to move forward and grow in our own separate ways.âÂ
Your butterflies in your stomach turned into fierce wasps, stinging you sharply. Lies, your heart hissed. Tell her you love him and still want him.Â
You forced the bile rising in your throat down. Tia, blind to your inner troubles, continued to speak. âThatâs actually what I wanted to ask you,â she chuckled nervously. She grabbed your other hand, bringing them together.Â
âI wanted to ask Cal to be my boyfriend,â Tia confessed.
Crack. There goes your heart.
Tia seemed to notice the dip in your lips and immediately retracted. âBut I donât want to overstep or anything!â she rushed. âYou and Cal have history, Iâm not stupid enough to deny it. And thatâs okay, thatâs no oneâs fault. If you still love him and want him, Iâm not going to get in the way. Calum, well, itâs clear he loves you, too. Iâve heard countless amounts of stories about you to not get the memo. I really like Cal, I do. But that canât go up against love.âÂ
This was your chance. To right your wrongs from the past and take back what you truly wanted. Calum. You could take this moment to run to his house right now and take him back, and youâd have Tiaâs full support. Zero guilt.Â
But why did it hurt so bad?Â
No. You made your bed, you have to sleep in it. It doesnât matter if the bed was built of blades of self doubt and hate, you have to slip into the sharp sheets and let it pierce through your skin. You created your own mess. It is you alone that must deal with it. Not Calum, and surely not Tia.Â
Youâve made enough problems for everyone as is.Â
You mustered enough strength to let go of Tiaâs hands and instead cup her cheeks. âTia, honey,â you whispered calmly. âOur love is in the past. Iâve missed my chance, and I have learned to live with it. Iâve seen the way Calum looks at you, and thatâs something that can blossom into something beautiful. Thereâs no need to dig up something that has already run its course.âÂ
Tiaâs lip trembled at your words. You nodded carefully. âYou donât need my permission or anything to date Calum. You donât owe me anything. You both deserve to be happy, and clearly you make each other happy.â
âAre you sure?â Tia asked. âI promise you, it wonât hurt my feelings or anything if you still want him.âÂ
âNo, Tia,â you reassured her, despite the burning feeling in your chest. âPlease, make him happy. Make him happier than I could ever make him. He deserves that much.âÂ
â
Two weeks have passed since your encounter with Tia. Last thing you heard was that the two were very happy indeed, but you didnât hear if they made it official. You had plenty of dates with the girls, but you insisted on changing the subject whenever they brought Calum up. You feared that if you heard about him one more time, you might burst into tears or do something stupid.Â
You finished up your work from the office in your friendâs house. Grateful to be able to work from home for the time you stayed in L.A., you had to admit that sitting on a chair from 9 to 5 made you quite sore. Eager to stretch your legs, you decided to take a walk to the local park.Â
However, it wasnât any random park. It was the place you and Cal used to have endless dates when he was back from tour or the studio. Youâd lay on the blanket he took from his apartment at the time and stare at the stars. Back when you both didnât have much, youâd snack on soup crackers you took from each time you went to the diner across the street and share a can of Coke Cal took from the vending machine after work. So many secrets were shared at this park, and so many memories were made, too.Â
âIâm glad to know Iâm not the only one who still frequents this place.âÂ
You jumped to see the last person you expected at this place. Calum gave you a bashful smile before sitting beside you on the grass. You took in the last hour of sun beaming down your skin before the sky went dark, closing your eyes and tuning out the sound of the infamous L.A. traffic.Â
âHow can I not?â you quipped. âThis park is the only place in L.A. that isnât stuffy or gross.â
Calum let out a laugh, quietly agreeing with you. âSo what brings you here, Hood?â you asked, nudging his shoulder.Â
The bassist could only shrug his shoulders. âCould say the same about you,â he hummed. âSometimes I like to sit here and write music. Other times I just sit here and listen to the ambiance.â You nodded, crossing your arms on your chest and making sure to keep a safe distance from him. His touch was mesmerizing, but you had to remind yourself that he was no longer yours.Â
âThis place reminds me to stay grounded,â he told you truthfully. âWhen I get too in my head, I always go here, even after we broke up.âÂ
You dropped your hands to the grass, braiding the blades absentmindedly. âIâm glad,â you spoke up. Calum looked over at you, awaiting an explanation. âItâs too good of a place to let go after a silly little relationship.âÂ
âIt wasnât a silly little-â Calum fought back.Â
âLetâs not talk about it, Cal,â you sighed exasperatedly.Â
Calum instantly frowned. âWhy not?â he pressed. âYou never seem to want to talk about the good old days.â
âBecause it wasnât âthe good old days,ââ you insisted, lying through your teeth.Â
Calum let out a stubborn huff. âNow thatâs a lie,â Calum shot back. âBut whatever, I wonât push.â A pregnant silence took over the two of you as Calum tried to find something to say. âHave you found yourself a new boyfriend yet?â he decided to ask.Â
âCalum-â you began.
âYou said not to bring up the past,â Calum argued. âThis is the best I can do.âÂ
You shook your head at his words, giving in nonetheless. âNo, I donât,â you answered.Â
âAre you not ready for one?â he asked.Â
âI-â You took a moment to find the right words. âI need to work on myself before moving forward with someone else.âÂ
âWell, I donât get that,â Calum commented with a snort. âYouâre perfect, what could you possibly work on?â
You choked out a dry laugh, though there was no humor behind it. âQuite a bit, Iâd say,â you confessed. âCalum, I was a mess, I still am. I canât put someone through that again.âÂ
âYou didnât put me through anything,â Calum persisted. âAnd now that you mention us, I canât recall anything that you did wrong in that relationship. It was all me.â
âNo Calum!â you raised your voice, standing up abruptly. He quickly followed, standing up to meet your frustrated, tired eyes. âIt was me. And Iâm tired of you insisting otherwise.âÂ
âYou said that I was always gone,â Calum reminded you, his voice matching the same volume as yours. âI donât see anything that involves you in that.âÂ
You threw your hands in the air. âBecause I was needy!â you exclaimed. âAnd I was pushy, and I hated being alone all the timeââ
âBut Iâm right here!â he yelled back. You took a step back in shock. He was never one to raise his voice at you, even when you fought in the past. It was your throat that got raw in those arguments from having a shouting match against yourself and losing hopelessly. âGoddammit y/n Iâm right here. And I promised you that night that I would always be here if thatâs what you wanted.âÂ
Tears began to stream down your face as you pulled your hair in anger. âYou donât understand, Calum,â you cried out.Â
âThen help me understand!â Calum took a step closer to you, taking your hands in his. His brown eyes were desperate, searching yours for an answer. âPlease, sunshine, let me in.âÂ
For a moment, you almost faltered. You nearly gave in at his sweet words and use of that old nickname. But Tia remained in the back of your mind, and guilt sunk in once more.
You released yourself from his touch, looking away from his eyes. âYou canât call me that anymore,â you whispered to him. âI canât, Calum. I just canât.âÂ
Calum watched you back away hopelessly. ây/n,â he sighed.
âIâm leaving for Boston in two days,â you told him. âIâm sure Ash told you that already, though. I overstayed my welcome at my friendâs house. I should start packing.â
The bassist followed you to the gate of the park. âBut I feel like we should talk about this,â Calum pleaded.Â
Your fingertips grazed the gate, the cool metal sending shivers down your spine. âIâll see you at the party, Calum.âÂ
âÂ
When you told the boys the date you were going back to Boston, Ashton jumped at the opportunity to throw you a goodbye party. In addition to catching up with you and spending every moment available with you, the boys insisted on planning the âbiggest party of the centuryâ for your departure.Â
âI still donât see the necessity for all of this,â you told the three boys with a shake of your head.Â
âTrust us,â Ashton said with a wild grin. âWe all need this.âÂ
So here you were, casually sipping your cocktail in the corner of Ashtonâs home while their exquisite rager took the house by storm. Sierra and Crystal stayed by your side throughout the night, insisting to keep up with each other while you were away. This time, you made sure to not end contact with them the way you did last time. Tia had also been in the group but left some time ago to deal with something.Â
âAre you sure you have to leave?â Luke asked, pouting dramatically. âL.A. isnât the same without you here, n/n.âÂ
You ruffled his hair playfully. The singer was always a little brother to you, no matter how close in age the two of you were. âI do, bub,â you said in a sorry voice. âI donât think my boss could stand another week without me in the studio.âÂ
âThen move back to this location!â Michael proposed, raising his glass and nearly spilling his drink on the floor. âTransferring wouldnât be a bad idea, would it? The studio would love to have you back, producing and doing whatever else you do.âÂ
You laughed at Michaelâs drunken state. You were having a lot of fun relishing in the last few moments with your friends before leaving them once again. You almost didnât realize the shouting that was going on in the dining room of Ashtonâs home.Â
The entire group ran to the source of the noise to find Calum standing on the dining table with Tia pleading for him to get down.
âCalum, babe, please,â Tia shouted. âYouâre causing a scene.âÂ
All guests turned to see what was going on, especially to see why the bassist of 5 Seconds of Summer was shouting complete intelligible nonsense.Â
Ashton ran towards the edge of the table. âMate, you need to get down,â he begged hurriedly. âYouâre not thinking straight, you need to get down before you get hurt.â
âNo,â Calum insisted, his words slurring slightly due to his inebriated state. âI need everyone to listen to me.âÂ
Someone had managed to find the speaker and turn it off so everyone could hear Calum. Your heart was beating out of your chest, not from the alcohol buzzing through your system, but because of the drunk boy standing before you.Â
Calum raised his cup to the crowd. âIâd like to raise a toast to the girl who broke my heart,â he announced sloppily. âThe âheartbreak girlâ herself, y/n l/n.â Calum clapped loudly. He was the only one who was clapping while you stood there in shock and humiliation. âI loved you, you know?â he sniffed. âAnd I bloody well still do. Tiaâs great, though. Absolutely nothing wrong with you, Tia, I hope you know that. But youâre not the one. y/n right here, sheâs the one.âÂ
His brown eyes, red from drinking and smoking God knows what, teared up as he looked down at you. âBut what I canât figure out is why wonât she love me?â Calum threw back the rest of his drink and winced at how strong it was. âI was getting ready to propose to you, you know?â he told you. âI had the ring in my pocket, and I was just waiting for the perfect moment.â Calum chuckled to himself bitterly. âGuess I fucked that up tremendously.â
âCalum, stop,â you pleaded.Â
âWhy should I?â he asked you incredulously. âYou didnât stop packing your things when I asked you to. You didnât stop running when I chased after you in the dark. You didnât stop when you booked that flight across the country to run away from me.âÂ
Tears were streaming down your face now. âIt wasnât like that, Cal,â you cried. âW-we broke up for a reason-â
âAnd thatâs what I canât wrap my head around!â he shouted. âYou barely gave me a reason! You told me you never saw me anymore. I was willing to make more time for you, to end my career for you, to get down on one knee and be with you, and that wasnât enough! There had to be another reason-â
âThere wasnât, Cal!â you sobbed. âSo drop it, please.âÂ
Silence spread throughout the whole house. No one moved an inch, too shocked to make a single sound or move. All that could be heard was the sounds of your messy sobs that you failed to keep in. Cal dropped his cup and gestured his hands at you.Â
âThe Heartbreak Girl, everyone,â he announced with a broken sigh. âHope you enjoyed this one hell of a show, with your heartbroken host, Calum Thomas Hood.â
You ran out of the house as fast as your feet could take you. The air was brisk in your lungs, but you didnât care. You couldnât care when the man you loved poured his heart out to you, only for you to squash it like it was nothing.Â
ây/n!â you heard a voice call out for you. You whipped around to see Tia, scrambling to catch up to you. In the back, you could see the band -minus Calum- and their significant others peering out the glass door to see what was going on.Â
Tia grabbed your hand tightly. ây/n, fuck, Iâm so sorry about Calum,â she apologized, swearing profusely. âI donât know whatâs gotten into him. First we were talking about our relationship then-â
âPlease, donât bring up your relationship,â you cut her off, roughly shaking your head. âI know I gave you my blessing, but please I canât bear to get my heart broken again.âÂ
âYou donât understand!â Tia pushed. âWe donât have a relationship to begin with! y/n, I never asked Calum to be my boyfriend, I just couldnât. I couldnât interfere with a love as great as yours and his.â
You stumbled backwards. âWhat?âÂ
Tia nodded, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. ây/n, you and Calum are endgame, donât you see? I only talked to him tonight to explain that you still loved him. I guess he was too caught up in the alcohol to think rationally.âÂ
âTia,â you said, voice dripping in disappointment and dread. âThat wasnât your secret to tell him.â
âWere you going to say anything?â she shot back. âYou werenât, so I had to take matters into my own hands. n/n, Iâm a firm believer in fate and second chances. This is your chance at making everything right-âÂ
âBut I canât!â you cried, ripping your hand away from hers. âDonât you get it? Iâm the one thatâs killing him! I put him through hell and I canât continue to do that. Why canât you see that Iâm a fucked up mess that ruins everything I touch? I love Calum, Iâll never stop loving him, but Iâm not blind enough to not see that my love is torturing him slowly.â
You pinched the bridge of your nose in frustration. Tears reappeared in the corner of your eyes, but you were too tired to wipe them away. âIâm never going to be enough for Calum,â you confessed. âThatâs why I broke up with him. I canât watch him waste his life away on a girl thatâs only going to disappoint him. Iâm not like you, Tia. Iâm not perfect, or beautiful, or smart, or anything remotely interesting. And one day, Calum is going to see that and realize he missed his opportunity to find someone good for him, someone that he deserves.
âI donât deserve him, Tia,â you finished in a broken whisper. âI never will. So Iâd rather fade into the background and be a distant memory than become a face he canât stand to look at.âÂ
âThatâs not true,â Tia insisted, tears gracefully falling down her beautiful face. ây/n, you have to believe me when I say thatâs not true.â
A car drove down the street, approaching the two of you. You let out a sigh of relief, recognizing it as your uber. âI donât have to believe you,â you replied, opening the car door. âMy word is all that I need.â
â
Calum woke up the next day with a pounding headache. He groaned aloud, sitting up on the couch and cradling his head. He wished he was drunk enough that night to forget everything that happened, but he remembered every single detail. From the beat of the bass from the stereo to the way your dress hugged your curves he loved to kiss and hold.Â
He finally pushed you away, he realized. And for good, this time. Calum felt dread and regret rush through his system, and all he wanted was to crawl into his bed and sleep his life away.Â
âYou know grumbling isnât going to cure a hangover,â Tiaâs reprimanding voice rang through the living room.Â
Tia. Calum jumped up to face her where she had been leaning against the door frame.
âOh Ti,â he sighed, covering his face in embarrassment. âIâm so sorry for last night, I must have humiliated you. Iâm a right idiot, and Iâm so sorry I put you through that.âÂ
âOh shut up,â Tia laughed, walking over to him and sitting him down. âI canât say that I wasnât hurt, but I also canât say I was surprised with how things turned out.â Calum hung his head low, ashamed of his behavior. He never wanted to hurt either of you. âCal, you donât have to be so sullen. Itâs okay, thereâs no hard feelings or bad blood between us.â
When Calum couldnât bring himself to respond, Tia decided to take it a step further. âI always knew you loved her,â she confessed. âThatâs why I brought it up to you last night. I wanted both of you to work things out. She really does love you.âÂ
Calum let out a bitter laugh. âShe sure has a way of showing it,â he muttered. âTia, donât make me feel worse by feeding me lies. It hurts enough that I hurt both of you, donât make it worse by saying that bullshit.âÂ
âIâm telling the truth!â she fought back. ây/n still loves you, she told me that herself.â
âThen why did she break up with me?â Calum retorted. âIf her love never left the table, where was it when she broke things off? Correct me if Iâm wrong, Tia, but I donât think thatâs how you treat the people you supposedly love.âÂ
Tia screwed her eyes shut, heaving out a sigh. âShe loved you so much, she thought you deserved more,â Tia finally explained. âShe let you go so that you could find someone better, someone who makes you happier.âÂ
âThat doesnât make sense,â Calum shook his head, eyebrows furrowed in thought. âHow could she think that? No one could be better than her, um, no offense.â Tia snorted at the last part. âIf anything, I thought I didnât deserve her.â
âWell youâre both idiots,â Tia deadpanned. âYou two clearly love each other more than life itself but were too blind to see you were perfect for each other.âÂ
Calumâs shoulders caved in as he drowned in his thoughts. His hangover headache was piercing his skull but he couldnât care less. He couldnât process why youâd ever think so lowly of yourself when he praised the ground you walk on.Â
âHow can I go back to her and repair things when I never realized she was hurting?â he asked. âWhy would she ever want me back when I wasnât there at her lowest? All the signs were there. She stopped calling me every night to talk about her day while I was away. Sheâd dodge my Facetimes with bullshit excuses that I failed to point out.â Calum huffed to himself, beating himself up critically. âWhat makes you think I wonât fuck up again when she needs me?â
âBecause youâve learned from your mistakes before,â Tia told him, rubbing his arm soothingly. âAnd you can learn from them again. Thatâs what I like about you, Cal. You always made an effort to better yourself, no matter the challenge. And if you truly love her, youâre going to end up fine.âÂ
Calum smiled softly at Tiaâs words, raising his chin to look her in the eyes. âI love her so much,â he whispered. The bassist took her hand, squeezing it affectionately. âIâm sorry things didnât work out with us, Ti,â he apologized genuinely. âI really do hope you find someone who is willing to lay down their life for you.âÂ
âIâve watched two lovers reconnect like no time has passed at all,â Tia smiled back. âTrust me, I have the groundwork laid out for whatâs ahead of me.âÂ
Suddenly, Calumâs phone began to ring. Lunging towards the arm of the couch, Calum pulled his phone off the charger and read the caller ID. Eyes wide, he looked at Tia who gave him a knowing look.Â
âIâll start the car.âÂ
â
You opened your eyes, immediately squinting at the bright light. You were met once again with the familiar feeling of a skull splitting headache and aching ankle.Â
âMust you always get yourself into these situations?âÂ
You turned to face those brown eyes and cheeky smile you adored. Calum shook his head in disbelief, taking your hand in his. âI thought you said youâd change your emergency contact,â he said in a scolding tone.Â
Your face was on fire at his words. âI forgot,â you told him honestly.Â
Once again, you ended up in the hospital with similar injuries to what you received at the beginning of your trip. But instead of a car accident, youâd clumsily fallen down the stairs on the way to your Uber to the airport. Luckily a neighbor next door heard the ruckus and loaded you into the Uber straight to the hospital.Â
âOr itâs fate,â Calum suggested, resting his hand on the side of your head.Â
âCalum,â you tried to counter.
He stopped you instantly. âI know why you ended things,â he simply told you. âAnd I think I deserve a say in it.â Closing your mouth, you let him speak. âYouâre wrong, y/n. You do deserve me as much as I deserve you. And I love you no matter what. I donât need a famous celebrity as my partner when I have you in my life. None of that superficial stuff matters to me, y/n, you know that. And I know that for as long as I live and you forget to change your emergency contact list, Iâll always come for you.âÂ
Your heart fluttered, and you allowed yourself to feel hope for the both of you. âBut what if someday down the line you want more?â you asked in a small voice.Â
Calum blinked away his tears. âWhat more can I want?â he said in response. âYouâre all I want, y/n. Iâm so sorry I ever made you doubt that.âÂ
âDonât apologize,â you laughed, tears beginning to fall, too. âIt was my stupid brain that made me doubt in the first place.âÂ
Calum leaned in, his lips brushing against yours. âSo is that it?â he asked. âAre we done doubting? Will you finally come home, y/n? Be with me forever?âÂ
You raised your hand to cup his cheek. He instinctively leaned into your touch. âWith you,â you told him surely. âIâm always home. Iâm yours, Calum Hood.âÂ

luke wakes up in the middle of the night needy as ever, and thereâs no reason for him not to help himself out and use his beautiful wife right next to him
warnings: smut -cnc, somnophilia , dirty talk, wet dreams, unprotected sex-
i donât even know what this is i just got bored and horny
Luke was rutting his hips into the mattress that night. God was that dream so real. He was whimpering and needy and he had you tied up with your favorite vibe on your sore and swollen clit. You knew how much he was stressed and you loved being someone he could take his stress out on.
He was just watching you, slowly stroking himself because it felt so good he just needed to draw it out as long as possible.
You begin your third orgasm of the night as it washes over you and you even manage to squirt a little on the bed. Right away, he pushes his fingers into you roughly and makes you squirt more.
Your moans, oh your moans are whatâs getting him off the most. He loves you and your body but your noises, the way you whimper at him, he loves it.
Just as he begins to push his tip into your tight walls his eyes open.
He lets out a heavy sigh once heâs aware of his surroundings. Heâs incredibly hard. Luke doesnât even catch himself when he starts pushing down his boxers and stroking his hard cock.
He sits up in the bed to see you laying on your back with your eyes closed peacefully. He smiles to himself before he peels the covers off of you to find you in a simple tank and panties.
Carefully, making sure not to wake you up just yet, he slips off your soft panties and spreads your legs. He was confused how you still havenât woken up, but doesnât dwell on it.
He pushes the tip in and letâs out such a breathy moan, it takes about two strokes before youâre moaning quietly, finally fluttering your eyes open and becoming aware of whatâs going on. Youâre alarmed at first, but you remember the conversation you had with Luke a few nights prior and immediately relax.
Soon, you focus on the pleasure and feel yourself stretching to his shaft.
âHey baby. Had a dream. Youâre so sexy I couldnât wait till you woke up. Fuck.â
You giggle tiredly, âItâs okay baby. Love this. Love you fuckinâ me like this.â
His thrusts are deep and sharp and every time your hips meet he stays there for a few seconds, letting you feel his length inside of you.
Luke peppers kisses along your face and anything of your neck thatâs exposed.
âYouâre so tight holy shit. Canât even fucking move.â He groans against your ear, softly nibbling at it.
You moan, âAh. What was your d-dream baby?â
You feel your orgasm start to build up and you canât take it. This whole moment is so much for the two of you and itâs definitely something new.
âMm baby. Shit, I uh, had you tied up with a vibe on your clit. And shit it was so puffy- fuck, and you started to squirt all over our sheets. And you were making such pretty noises watchinâ me stroke my cock.â
You let out a guttural moan, âShit t-that really is a dream,â You giggle.
Lukeâs thrusts start to slow as you feel your orgasm. Your vision blurs as youâre already tired yet itâs probably one of the strongest orgasms youâve ever had. It was such a sensual moment that it made the orgasm last so much longer and feel so much better.
Heâs not far to follow, immediately spilling into you as you clench around him and your body shakes. He whines as he starts to suck along your jawline down to your neck.
He collapses on top of you, yet making sure not to crush you as you run your fingers through his hair. He groans against you as you tug on the curls.
âI love you. I loved that. Came so hard, Lu.â You whisper against him.
He shuffles his head along your chest. âLoved it so much baby. Loved it because it was you. Glad we tried it.â
âGoodnight baby boy. I donât even want to check what time it is, but we should go back to sleep.â

ËË°â˘*ââˇ
The night air was crisp as you and Calum sped down the highway on his bike. There was something deeply comforting about being with himâa quiet steadiness that felt both grounding and oddly familiar, like youâd known him forever.
The wind whipped past, carrying your laughter as you threw your head back, savoring the freedom that came with the open road. You could hear Calumâs chuckle in response, low and warm, and it only made you laugh harder, the sound blending with the steady hum of the engine beneath you.
When he finally pulled off the road and into the edge of the forest, parking the bike, a nervous flutter settled in your chest. This moment felt so different from all the others youâd sharedâthose times forced together by circumstance. Now, under the quiet canopy of the night, it was just the two of you, with no obligations or pretense. Calumâs smile was as bright and infectious as ever, and it made your nerves soften, if only slightly.
âYouâre beautiful,â he murmured, his voice low, his smile shifting into something softer. The weight of his gaze made your heart race, but before you could process itâor say anything in returnâfat raindrops began to fall.
The first few landed lightly on your skin, cool and scattered, but in moments the drizzle turned into a downpour. Calum spluttered in surprise, brushing rain from his face, while you threw your head back with a loud, carefree laugh.
You had expected the rainâthis was Seattle, after allâbut there was something thrilling about the way it drenched you both, soaking your clothes and hair within seconds. Pulling away from Calumâs embrace, you held onto his hand and twirled in delight, the rain mingling with your laughter as thunder rolled in the distance.
The rain quickly soaked through your clothes, making your shirt and jeans cling heavily to your skin, but none of it seemed to matter. Calum stood beside you, his lips curved into a faint, amused smile. His hair was plastered to his forehead, rain dripping from the dark strands as he triedâunsuccessfullyâto look annoyed.
But you knew better. You caught the laughter dancing in his eyes, the way his barely contained smile betrayed the truth. It wasnât irritation; it was something softer, warmerâsomething that made your heart skip a beat despite the chill of the rain.
âYou look adorable,â you giggled, brushing the rain-soaked hair from Calumâs face. âLike a wet puppy.â
Calum let out a soft grumble but couldnât help the small chuckle that escaped as he met your grin. âShouldâve known it was gonna rain,â he muttered, shaking his head. âAnd you like that, donât you? Knew it was coming.â
You gave a nonchalant shrug, slipping your hand into his and leading him a few steps farther from the bike. The rain fell steadily, soaking you both as Calumâs arms slowly wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer. You tilted your head up to look at him, your hair a dripping mess, water clinging to your face, but the playful spark in your eyes remained.
âWeâve never danced together,â you murmured, your voice soft yet teasing against the steady rhythm of the rain.
Calum raised a brow, brushing the wet hair from his face with a smirk. âSo, you want to dance in the rain?â he asked, already knowing the answer from the way you grinned.
Instead of waiting for a response, his hands shifted firmly to your waist, lifting you effortlessly off the ground as he spun you around. Your laugh rang out, bright and carefree, your hands gripping his shoulders for balance. For a fleeting moment, joy swept through you both, unrestrained and electric, the rain the only witness to your impromptu dance.
He held you close as you moved together, your soaked clothes clinging to your bodies like a second skin. Mud splashed up your bare feet as you swirled, but neither of you seemed to care. The world around you faded, leaving only the rhythm of the rain and the warmth of his touch.
In his arms, you felt normal-just a girl with a guy who understood her, who looked at her as though she was something precious, something extraordinary. The weight of your past hadn't disappeared, but in this moment, it felt lighter. It felt conquerable. Like maybe, just maybe, the two of you could make it through anything.
Calum leaned down and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to your lips, warm and grounding against the cool rain. When he pulled back, his hands stayed on your waist as the two of you continued to sway, caught in a quiet, tender rhythm. But then his gaze dropped, and his eyes widened slightly as they landed on your chest.
A mischievous grin spread across his face.
âSo..you just skip the bra pretty often?â he teased, his tone playful as his eyes flicked up to yours, gesturing at the hardened peaks visible through your soaked white shirt.
You rolled your eyes but couldn't help the laugh that escaped you. âEnjoying the view, are you?â you shot back, matching his playful tone.
âAbsolutely,â he admitted without missing a beat, his grin widening as he pulled you closer.
You raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at the corners of your lips. âWhat can I say?â You shrugged. âI got my nipples pierced for a reason. Canât let them go to waste without showing them off a little.â
Calumâs expression darkened, his hands tightening on your waist. âSo this was all part of your plan?â he murmured, his voice lower now. âDitch the bra, wear a white shirt, all in hopes of getting my attention? Did you factor in the rain too?â
You laughed, throwing your head back in pure amusement. âYes!â you teased. âYouâve got me! I donât know what to do now.â
Calum laughed, shaking his head as he leaned forward and rested his forehead against yours. âYouâre fucking crazy, you know that?â His tone was dripping with fondness, and maybe a little bit of desire too.
You bit your lip, feeling the atmosphere shift from lighthearted to something heavierâthick with heat and desire. âYou know what they say,â you murmured, letting your hands slide up to Calumâs broad shoulders. âDonât stick your dick in crazy.â
Calum's eyes flicked down to your chest, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed hard.
âDon't tell me what to do,â he whispered, his voice low and strained before capturing your lips in a hungry kiss.
You responded eagerly, pulling him closer, your fingers tangling in his damp hair as the rain slicked your skin. Calum's hands gripped your thighs, lifting you effortlessly. Your legs wrapped around his waist as he deepened the kiss, the intensity pulling you into something electric, something that burned despite the cold drizzle falling around you.
When his tongue brushed against yours, a muffled moan escaped your lips, swallowed by the storm of his kiss. You barely noticed you were moving until the shift in air and the firm coolness beneath your thighs pulled you back to reality.
You blinked, realizing he'd set you down on the seat of his bike, the rain slowing to a soft patter around you due to the cover of the trees. Your heart fluttered as you leaned back on the steering, watching as Calum straddled the bike so that he was facing you. He shrugged off his sopping wet jacket, followed by his shirt.
You let your eyes rake through his lean body, the way the skin stretched so thinly over the muscle and the tattoos that littered his skin. Calumâs lips latched on to your neck, causing your eyes to flutter shut as you let out a blissful sigh.
His hands slid under your shirt, pushing it up and bunching the fabric above your chest, leaving you exposed to him. âYou're so fucking pretty,â he murmured, his voice low and rough as he pressed kisses down your throat, along your collarbone, and lower to your chest. His lips left a trail of heat in their wake, igniting a fire that coiled deep in your stomach.
âYou're my addiction.â he whispered, his breath warm against your skin before pressing a kiss to your nipple, making you shiver. âAll I need. You're all I need.â
His mouth closed around your nipple, teeth grazing the sensitive bud, and you arched against him with a soft gasp. Pleasure blurred your thoughts, but something about his words tugged at the edge of your mind.
They felt familiarâ too familiar.
It took a moment to click, and by the time it did, Calum was already working open the button of your jeans.
âWait,â you said, breathless and slightly dazed, your hands pressing against his chest. His dark eyes snapped up to meet yours, confusion flickering across his face. âDid you justâdid you just quote Radiohead while trying to get into my pants?â
âI donât know whether to be embarrassed or turned on that you noticed that,â he chuckled, tugging the heavy fabric of your jeans down your legs. Thankfully, they were a bit loose, making it easier than expected. He leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to the soft skin of your thigh. âBut I mean itâ you really are everything.â
Calum smirked, kneeling before you and sliding your damp underwear down your legs. The cool air and the chill of the bike's seat made you hiss softly, your half-lidded eyes following his every move. He pressed gentle kisses up your leg, each one slower than the last, before finally brushing a tender kiss to your clit. The sensation made you jolt, your fingers gripping the edges of the bike for support.
Then, he straightened, leaning over you until their faces were inches apart, his breath warm against your rain-cooled skin.
âCalum,â you whimpered, your voice trembling with need as his middle finger teased your entrance, collecting the slickness there but refusing to go further.
He smirked against your neck, trailing hot kisses along your pulse. âPlease,â you whispered, your voice breaking as your hips instinctively tilted toward him, desperate for more. âDo something.â
âYou sound so pretty when you beg, did I mention that, Princess?â His voice was a husky whisper as his finger continued to make teasing circles around your entrance. He wasnât giving you what you wanted, at least not without a fight.
âPlease,â you whimpered, your eyes squeezing shut as your entire body pulsed with need. You couldn't stop yourself from rutting your hips against Calum's teasing fingers, desperate for even a hint of relief.
Calum chuckled low against your collarbone, the vibration of his voice sending shivers through you. Drops of rainwater dripped from his damp hair onto your heated skin, making you shiver again. Slowly, agonizingly, he slid just the very tip of his finger inside you. It was nothingâjust a teaseâand it drove you insane.
âFuckâplease,â you gasped, your voice breaking with frustration. âI need youââ
âSpell it out for me, Y/N,â he growled, his voice rough and demanding. âTell me what you want. I'm not a mind reader.â
A sudden, animalistic surge of desire crashed over you, and you opened your eyes, meeting his gaze through your lashes. Your lips parted, and your voice came out in a desperate, breathless whine.
âI need you to fill me up,â you begged, the words raw and unrestrained. âFuck me like I'm your filthy slut.â
Calumâs eyes darkened significantly as he slid the rest of his finger inside you, accompanied by another one. The stretch made your back arch, and you let out a moan as he curled his fingers perfectly inside you. âGood fucking girl,â He growled, biting the skin of your neck harshly. âYouâre such a perfect girl fâme.â
His lips crashed against yours, swallowing every desperate moan that spilled from you as his fingers worked you relentlessly. The slick, wet sounds of his movements mixed with the steady rhythm of the rain falling around you. Your fingers dug into his shoulders, clutching for support as your body trembled with need.
âSuch a little whore for my fingers, aren't you?â Calum chuckled, his voice dripping with arrogance. His thumb pressed against your clit, rubbing it in just the way he knew drove you insane.
Your eyebrows knitted together in pleasure, and you threw your head back, resting against the handlebars as your breathing came in shallow, uneven gasps. âPlease,â you begged, your voice breaking. âI want to come on your cock.â
Your words seemed to ignite something in him. Calum withdrew his hand, leaving you whimpering at the loss. Without hesitation, he brought his fingers to his mouth, licking them clean with a deliberate slowness, his dark eyes locked on yours.
You barely had a moment to catch your breath before he focused his attention on the button of his jeans, shoving them down just enough along with his boxers. His cock sprang free, hard and heavy, slapping against his stomach as he leaned closer.
âYou want more, Princess?â he growled, the teasing edge in his voice making your toes curl. He dragged the tip over your swollen clit, eliciting a sharp cry from you.
âThen you're gonna fucking take it,â he snarled, his lips brushing your ear as he spoke. âYou're gonna take it so well for me, like the good little whore you are.â
You found yourself nodding eagerly, your breathing having hitched at his words. You gripped his biceps tightly as he sank into you inch by inch, seemingly determined to drag the moment on for as long as he could. Finally, when he was buried to the hilt, he let out a moan. âYou feel so fucking good,â He muttered. âSo wet, so fucking tight. Love this pretty little pussy, and itâs all mine.â
âIt's yours,â you gasped, your voice breathless and shaky as Calum began snapping his hips against yours with an unrelenting rhythm. He didn't give you a moment to adjust, the sharp edge of the pain only heightening the overwhelming pleasure that coursed through you. You felt stretched, completely filled, as your nails raked down his back without mercy.
He hissed at the sensation, his breath catching before he crushed his lips to yours in a bruising, desperate kiss. His hips continued their punishing pace, each thrust driving you harder against the cool, unyielding metal of his bike. The intensity of it all blurred the lines between pain and pleasure, leaving nothing but raw, electric connection in its wake.
Your head fell back as you cried out into the night, droplets of water still falling onto your bodies, making everything so much slicker. You shivered as Calum began to suck at your sweet spot right where your pulse beat, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin.
âLook at you,â He moaned between kisses. âTaking me so well, itâs like you were made for this, made to take my cock, werenât you? My filthy little slut.â
âIâm yours.â You were beginning to grow dizzy with how much the pleasure began to build up in your stomach, the familiar sense of nearing the edge finally occurring. âFuck, Iâm all yours, made for you.â
Your thighs trembled, your entire body tightening around him as he continued to pound into you. âIâm so close,â you sobbed into his shoulder. âDonât stop, please donât stop.â
Calumâs thumb found your clit again, rubbing tight, deliberate circles around it as his hips continued to snap into yours. âCome for me, Princess,â he urged, his voice commanding. âClench around meâ make a mess out of my cock.â
With a broken cry, you felt your orgasm finally wash over you with such intensity that your vision went black for a second. Your nails dug harshly into Calumâs biceps as you rode out your high, quickly growing more and more sensitive.
Your moans quickly shifted into overstimulated whimpers as your body writhed beneath him, your muscles twitching with sensitivity. You tried to pull away, but Calum's firm grip on your hips kept you in place.
âSit still, babygirl,â he commanded, his voice rough and strained as his thrusts became more erratic. âI told you to take it, so take it.â
You bit down on your lip, the cool rain mingling with the heat radiating off your skin as you surrendered to him, letting him use you to chase his release. Your breaths came in short, shallow gasps, and before you could think better of it, the words tumbled out of her mouth.
âCome on my face,â you whispered, the request barely audible over the rain.
Calum froze for a moment, your words hitting him like a lightning bolt. Then, with a guttural groan, he pulled out of you, stumbling back off the bike in his urgency. His hand worked furiously over himself, his eyes locked on yours with an intensity that made your breath hitch.
You felt a fleeting emptiness as he left you, but the anticipation building in your chest quickly replaced it. You leaned back against the handlebars, sticking your tongue out and meeting his gaze with a mix of submission and challenge.
That was all it took. With a strained, guttural moan, Calum finally gave in, his release spilling onto your waiting tongue and heated skin. You moaned softly at the taste, your fingers reaching up to wipe the streaks from your cheeks, gathering as much as you could.
Calum watched you, wide-eyed and breathless, his chest still heaving. His mouth fell open as you licked your fingers clean, your eyes fluttering shut in satisfaction. âTaste so fucking good,â you murmured, your voice husky and dripping with praise.
Before you could say anything else, Calum closed the distance between them, crashing his lips against your. It was quick but heated, his tongue exploring your mouthâ seemingly desperate to taste himself.
When he pulled away, still breathless, Calum looked down at you with awe etched across his face. âYou're so perfect,â he whispered, his voice soft but full of conviction.
Quickly, he tucked himself back into his pants and helped you shimmy into yours, his movements gentle but efficient. Your shirt was still bunched up just below your collarbone, and he couldn't resist leaning down to place a lingering kiss on each hardened nipple before reluctantly pulling the fabric down to cover you. The wet fabric was more than a little uncomfortable, but you could hardly bring yourself to care.
âOnly for you,â you murmured, your voice tender as you watched him. You loved the way his fingers brushed through your damp hair, the way his gaze held yours as if you were the most precious thing in the world.
Calum's lips quirked into a small, shy smile as he leaned in to press a soft, chaste kiss to your lips. âI really hope so,â he murmured, his tone carrying an unexpected vulnerability.
He squeezed your hand, intertwining your fingers as he straightened up. âBut we should get back before we both catch a cold,â he added with a playful grin, his voice light and teasing, though his eyes still shone with unspoken affection.
You let out a soft, resigned sigh. âYou're probably right,â you pouted, resting your head against his chest. You didn't want this moment to end, finding comfort in the quiet of the forest and the gentle rain as long as Calum was there.
âDon't sound too sad,â Calum murmured, tilting your chin up so your eyes met. His expression was warm, teasing. âWe can head back, take a hot shower, get rid of these soaked clothes. Maybe do thisââ he gestured to the bike with a shy smile. âOnce or twice more.â
You grinned, your lips curving against his as you leaned forward to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth. âYou really know how to cheer a girl up,â you teased, lacing your fingers with his. âI'm down. Though, I might be up for more than one or two extra rounds.Who knows?â
Calum shook his head, a low laugh rumbling in his chest. âYeah,â he said, smiling. âMaybe I should stick my dick in crazy more often.â
