first, a massive thank you to @videodrome-fag (marcus) for graciously volunteering his efforts to organizing this gfm on maysaa's behalf. for those who haven't gotten a chance to meet them yet, allow me to introduce you all to the baalousha family.

some of you may already be familiar with mahmoud (aka @/5735765 on tumblr). his campaign to evacuate the gaza strip has been verified by el-shab-hussein/nabulsi (no. 124 on this list). mahmoud has successfully been able to cross the border into egypt, but several of his family members are still stuck in gaza- one of them being his sister, maysaa

(according to her gfm) maysaa suffers from a condition called pulmonary fibrosis, which has only been exacerbated (worsened) due to the utter lack of aid/decimated healthcare system. she is unable to access vital medications she needs to stabilize her condition + doctors on the ground can only provide so much care with the little supplies they have access to. displaced families like maysaa's are reliant on burning firewood/scraps to cook their meals. i can only imagine the added difficulty to breathe whilst facing constant exposure to all that smoke.

i'm making this post on behalf of my friend mahmoud balousha (@5735765), a palestinian from gaza who is currently residing outside of the country. mahmoud has multiple fundraisers open right now for his different family members who are still stuck in gaza, and he needs as much help as possible. i've verified and can vouch for all of these fundraisers, so please do what you can to share and donate.

the first fundraiser is for mahmoud's brother, ahmed, and his family. ahmed has three children, one of which is a sick baby in need of help.

I'm making another post because the other ones are losing traction, and Mahmoud (@5735765) is miles away from his goal!

TLDR: I am the campaign organizer for this GFM, running it on behalf of Mahmoud Balousha and his sister, Maysaa. She is displaced in a tent city in Al-Shati with her husband and 4 children and needs to raise $60,000 to evacuate once the Rafah border opens. She suffers from pulmonary fibrosis, for which the money raised will also be used in order to secure her medical treatment.

Mahmoud is presently displaced, but safe, in Cairo, but barely makes enough money to eat more than 1 meal a day, let alone evacuate his sister. We met on here a couple weeks ago when I saw a post inquiring after a GFM organizer for him (he does not have a bank account with which to withdraw funds, himself.) Our current means of money transfers are via Western Union, and I have successfully sent him some money out of pocket, both to test the transaction process and provide him some financial relief for his own hardships.

Mahmoud is a wonderful brother and someone I now consider a dear friend. He's kind, generous, and deserves so much better after what he has been through. We talk daily, and all I want is for his family to be reunited and find safety together in Cairo.
