5th Week; My wardrobe turnover
Hii! I don´t buy a lot of main pieces. I have always been cautious about finances, (up until my party era), and it´s safe to say that if I will buy any piece that isn´t worn too much, I will sell it. Sometimes I regret it (Oh, Velveteen Frill!) but it needs to be done. This is how I lost my first piece (waffle skirt from Bodyline), first brand (Velveteeeen Friiilllll, come back) and even the OTT OP of my dreams (Dreamy Jewels). And, of course, many others. It makes my heart ache, sometimes, but I need to be practical. On the other side, if I get my hands on cute cardigan, sweater, or even a socks, they are not leaving :D. I will keep them forever. I´m rather proud of my ability to recognize when something is not my style anymore and sell it, but sometimes it leaves a lasting hole in my heart. I´m not talking about that Old School fantasy, as I still don´t even have proper wardrobe to store it, but rather Love Nadia dress. It didn´t work in brown all those years ago (2020), but I keep eyeing the sax version. I mean, I have many things to go with…. And it´s going to be my birthday soon...
I didn´t post too much lately, my mom and sister visited me. We went to Fountainbleau and Auvers sur Oise, which was nice. I like getting out of Paris, it has been so overcrowded this entire week for some reason.
Autumn in France is so beautiful, I feel ✨aesthetic✨ just from waking up.

Lolita 52 challenge: 3. What my own Lolita lifestyle is like, plus blog update
Quick update: Sorry about not posting this week, or really much lately. I actually had an excuse this week since I wasn't feeling too great. As for clay crafts, I kind of burnt myself out while trying to make a money box while still not very experienced. I have a necklace design I want to make before fall is up though, so at least the beads for it should be a lot more fun. I've currently only made the lid of the box and I didn't even glue the parts into the right place.... I can fix it, I can fix it... I can fix it.
Okay, so onto the 52 challenge: I wouldn't really know where to really start with this. I went around and read some other people's post on this to get ideas. I can't really speak for decor. I know how I want my room, a themeing mixture of Princess Peach, The Mushroom Kingdom, and Blue Bird Polly Pocket. Though I can't really do this yet. So that's off the table, I will share my polly collection here though. I don't really have a whole lot of the old Blue Bird play sets. I mostly have old matel ones, which are less cute but I still like them. Every time I got into a thrift store I actively look for Polly Pocket stuff. While Polly Pocket and Princess Peach aren't directly Lolita, my goal for how I want my room to be could definitely fit here. There is also a Monster High doll in view and a Burger King box I cleaned out and decided to keep because I thought it was cute. Is it trashy? I mean it's literally trash, but the other option is to toss it, why make something thats meant to be discarded cute? Seems like a waste.
For hobbies: I like to work with clay, even if I did need a bit of break from it. I'm new to working with polymer but you can do a lot more with it than air dry so I'm happy I finally moved onto it. I used to do embroidery, which I plan to take back up, a long with sewing. I just need to get all the supplies together. Which addmittly, issues getting thing together is one of the reasons I had to quit in the first place. I also like to hand sew, I need to take up using the sewing machine, I know. I have plans for it, I'm just kind of afraid of it. Anyone else feel that?
Other than that, I enjoy video games. This isn't usually a hobby one would think of as lolita, but I feel like video games are what largely inspires me. Some of my favorite series being Sonic the Hedgehog, Castlevania, Fire Emblem (sadly have only played three games of this though, not counting the mobile game, which feels very different than the actual games), and The Sims, where I make me, my friends and characters I like. Though when I was little I would just make a murder house. Didn't everyone? Though I also like the The Elder Scrolls, Rune Factory, Mario, and Harvest Moon, just less so.
On a more lolita note I used to enjoy singing. I really do enjoy it, I just kind of eventually realized that I mostly liked it because other people would praise my singing. In reality, I enjoy making stuff a lot more. Also, I sometimes can get jaw pain, which makes it a little harder and less relaxing than sitting down and making a necklace or something.
Taking pigtures of Sweet Pea, the most photogenic creature you'll ever meet.
Oh, I also love to drink tea, but from coffee mugs, because finding tea sets is kind of hard.

This year I’m going to try to do Miss Caro’s Lolita 52 from F Yeah Lolita in 2013. I might not be able to stick to it, and maybe I won’t have a good answer for some weeks’ prompts, but let’s give it a shot! I have been wearing lolita for quite some time now, but in 2019 I made a real effort to focus my purchases toward expanding my wardrobe. I don’t have a lot of experience wearing lolita in public due to lack of self-confidence and moving from a very liberal and populous city to a somewhat more conservative city, so this influences my perspective for this post. The first prompt is...
5 pieces that every lolita wardrobe should have, regardless of style:
1. A comfy one-piece dress, on the casual side. If you are socially anxious or sometimes uncomfortable in alternative fashion, this should be something that you would not mind wearing to the grocery store if you had to. OPs are easy to style in the sense that you don’t have many parts to change out (like blouses), which makes them appropriate for lolita occasions or day-to-day excursions when you just don’t really want to deal with the stress of wearing lolita. Yes, it might be challenging to make fresh for each wear, and many people find them boring to wear, but a look that essentially coordinates itself can make wearing the fashion much more approachable on low-spoons days, or even when you are still getting used to wearing the fashion in public.
2. A comfortable pair of shoes for standing and walking. Ideally all of our shoes would be both pretty and comfortable, but when ordering online this is sadly not always the case. That said, many of the reviews that I have read and heard for lolita shoes in general are pretty good. I’m sure this is helped greatly by the tasteful small heels that are most common in lolita fashion. Comfortable and stylish shoes are helpful for not just occasions like the one above, when one just wants to be comfortable, but also for events like conventions which require a lot of distance walking and standing in lines.
3. A wig or hairpiece for bad hair days. Sometimes you just can’t get your natural hair to cooperate when you need it to. Going to a convention? Pack a wig (or two), just in case. You could wake up late, not have time to style your hair, forget your hairspray or a curling iron, or just inexplicably have no volume. If you cosplay, you might also have to deal with smashed wig hair from Saturday for the tea party on Sunday. A lolita-appropriate wig will take some of the frustration out of getting ready for your day. Just make sure to pin it well so that the weight doesn’t cause it to slide back (the bane of my existence). I have always had a hard time making my wigs look natural in lolita, but my last convention I purchased a Dreamholic wig, and I felt like it looked great! It’s possibly just a matter of finding the right brand or the right style, or a matter of getting used to the way you look in wigs, or even the difference made by wearing a bonnet on top. Either way, it vastly improved my coordinate for a fancy day.
4. A cute, machine-washable apron. Wear it for meetups that involve potentially messy food, like spinach dip, chocolate fondant, ice cream, barbecue, etc. At the end of your meal, if you have spilled any food on yourself, simply take off your apron and stow it into your purse! This is not my own idea, but my grandmother advised me that this is exactly the purpose of decorative aprons and pinafores of her childhood. The very fancy apron/pinafore is worn to protect your Sunday best from grime and food soil, and is much more readily laundered than the taffeta or other fine fabrics used for the dress underneath.
5. Bloomers that you don’t mind showing. Whether you style them to intentionally peek out from your petticoat or you just want each layer to be special for a big event, one very nice pair of bloomers will boost your wardrobe. It’s a bit like a push-up bra for a prom dress (I dunno); it’s just a little extra something.
I do not personally have all of these needs fulfilled, but they are things that I have come to realize I need in my wardrobe after wearing lolita for some time. In the coming year I hope to address these needs so that I can have a more fulfilling lolita experience. When I started lolita again after a hiatus, I realized I had nothing fancy enough for the updated standard of tea party wear. Now after a few years I realize that I have nothing simple enough to wear on a normal day out alone, and this ends up hindering me from building my confidence for actual meetups when I want to wear something nicer, but will also be in a public setting. Being with others who are also dressed up makes a big difference to my experience, but often there is a period of time before the meetup when I still have to be alone, be it taking transportation or waiting at the meetup point. In the end I have a wardrobe that looks a little incomplete in various ways, like having a couple simple JSKs but only fancy blouses, or only shoes that are pretty for sitting but not nice for walking.
Right now I am waiting for two pairs of comfortable but very cute shoes, one very simple OP, and one very fancy but mostly solid color JSK. I think these will go a long way toward making my wardrobe more wearable overall.

30 Day Lolita Challenge: Day 1
Hello everyone! The 30-Day Lolita Challenge is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while (along with the 52-Week Challenge, but that will have to wait). I am going to do my best to complete this - I’ll admit I’m pretty awful at keeping up with things like this...but! Let’s see if we can do it!
Day 1: Ten Things About Your Lolita Bubble
1. I’ve been in the fashion for about two years at this point, although I wore offbrand, pretty ita stuff before I actually invested in real lolita pieces (I wish I had a picture of this one outfit I used to wear a lot, it was really tragic. Basically a lacy black dress with strappy pumps, lace fingerless gloves, and devil horns. Yeah, yikes).
2. I have a love affair with both sweet and gothic substyles. I can never decide which I like wearing better, and I used to think I could only pick one. Since then, I’ve kind of realized that I can still have similar color aesthetics with both styles and my wardrobe has grown to incorporate main pieces that fit every substyle.
3. I am a member of the Alabama Lolita Coterie. Our comm is great, that is all.
4. To this date, I’ve been in four fashion shows. Three were community ones, and one was for Alice and the Pirates. I will probably be involved in more - I would like to apply for another brand show at some point.
5. I have four cherry dresses right now. I don’t even like cherries. (Well, I obviously think they are cute, I just hate the way they taste).
6. I am a worklita. I wear the fashion to work on occasion (usually on Fridays because it’s the happiest day of the week). I used to wear it more frequently but lately I have been lazy about it.
7. My favorite brand is Alice and the Pirates. Lately there has been a lot of ‘what the hell is this’? But...overall I am very dedicated to them.
8. My favorite things to do in lolita are to get tea, coffee, and visit antique stores (wow, original, I know).
9. I am a librarian. People always say that seems like a very “lolita” job, but Idk. It honestly just feels like any other job. I don’t really feel any more or less like a lolita because I’m a librarian. I just feel tired and bear the weight of existential dread.
10. I am not super ladylike and don’t feel like I fit what a lolita is “supposed” to be. That isn’t a way to say “I’m not like other girls” or sound like an edgelord, I promise. I just cuss a lot and like to drink, but these are both things I’m trying to tone down (not because of lolita, just because I do them too much).
I hope these answers fit whatever this question was supposed to mean!
Thank you for reading!

Lolita Challenge: Week 33: Something that I made
Lolita Challenge: Week 33: Something that I made
Something that I made
Way back in 2010 this was the first actual Lolita dress I made. Sure, shirring would’ve been better than just ties, and I should have worn blouse and socks (but it was soooo hot that day!), but I’m still fairly proud of the dress. And I still love these edited photos (taken by Lilibeth).

43. The ways in which I do not fit the cliche
I'm slightly older than your average Lolita and got into the fashion quite late. I do not like dolls. Not that I think they're creepy or anything like that, it's just not my thing. I was never fond of dolls even as a child. I had all manner of toys like MLP and Sylvanians which I still love and I suppose are similar to dolls but that's the closets I ever got to owning one.
I read Novala's books and essays. I'm skeptical about it. I do not keep an elegant boudoir because I'm still a tomboy at heart. I don't own a parasol (yet). I'm terrible at remembering print's names.
I love Lolita and it means a lot to me but I don't want to make every aspect of my life relate to it. Since it's intertwined with other passions of mine Lolita certainly represents a huge part of me.Still it's just another hobby and I wish to keep it so.

4th Week; Favorite thing to put on my head
Yet another theme I repeat. That post from October 2022 starts with a notion that I got drunkest out of our group, but people loved it. See, that´s the problem with being funny while drunk. I get very honest, sometimes passive aggressive, always in a joking mood, and people mistake that for me being a jester. That´s why I shouldn´t drink :D. I get to hurt people without punishment, sometimes even with a reward, and that isn´t right. I need that karmic truck to hit me.
Is Marghareta Head Bow still my favourite accessory to put on? Depends. I mean, it looks great with ½ of my wardrobe, but only if I have newly trimmed bangs. You can see how unfortunate it looked with longer ones in a Christmas meet-up. While it´s still cute, and I will thrown it into the mix every now and then, it gives me a headache and I need to check if it sits right on my head surprisingly often. On the other hand, it´s stunning, with its white and beige lace, pearl details and delicate design.
What I actually wear in my day to day life is a huge velvet bow, that I fot for birthdays from my bestie, Peťa. (The same one from the old edition of this article.) It´s from Sinsay I think, and it´s not lolita specific, but dear Mana, do I love it :D. It elevates outfits, helps me do something with my fine, messy hair and I feel like it even improves my posture if that makes any sense.
I usually wear it with a velvet dress (and I do have quite a collection). It´s long, so sometimes I just like having the ends on my shoulders :D. It reminds me of Alice (from the Wonderland, not Alice Cullen. But man, would that be cool.) Most my other bows have broken clips, but I want to fix that. I also want to do more things with my hair. It´s very fine, but at the same time, it never listens to me. It´s hard to make event he easiest hairstyles with it. But that can´t stop me! I swear, I will share my progress :D.

3rd Week: What my own Lolita lifestyle is like
Hi! ♡( ◡‿◡ ) A lot has changed since 2022. I still don´t go to a lot of meet-ups and tea parties, even though I would love to and I´m currently working on getting more into the community. Also, i don´t quote Brain Dead or Green Street Butcher nearly as much, but I still draw in the plain air.Honestly, isn´t plain air drawing (rather than painting, think about all the stains) such a cute lifestyle acitivity? I think it would be a fun theme for a meet-up next spring.
I have since moved out my parent´s flat and lived with two unusually messy guys, so I wouldn´t have elegant room even if I tried to, but I want to try more with decor next time. I want to buy some cute lights (Halloween lights from Sinsay? Sign me in!), get to hang some of my lolita art and postcards and overal mix all of that elegance with macabre. I´m probably going to live with my high school friends when I move back to Olomouc, so that would be so much easier! Also, I really want a shrine for my plushes. For me, home decor goes hand in hand with music and library. Afterall, those create the atmosphere. I would also get dry ice for this, but it´s much less practical. Right now, I´m a j-rock freak again. I started listening to shitton of Malice Mizer and Versailles out of nostalgia, and I´m trying to branch out to some new bands, too. I will probably make another post about this. It would be nice to decorate walls with some posters, too. Is this going to be the semester when I get to choose the decor on the wall? (Yes, I always had temperamental roommates.) Also, I got back to reading manga. My love for comics has never left me, and even if manga is its own separate thing in many ways, I just had to come back. I´m trying to finish Nana (no one prepared me. It was supposed to be fun), and I just binged Love Stage! out of pure nostalgia. I would like some physical mangas too, I think I only have my ancient Hetalia.
As to actual free time, I crochet, I knit, I read a lot… I´m a gradma. But, since I drink matcha and eat mochi with it, it´s a Japanesse grandma. That´s good enough, right? Right now, I´m trying to romanticize my life a little bit. I avoid drinking alcohol (max two glasses), I didn´t smoke in quite some time (it´s expensive, so I can´t even get it from anyone here) and I´m getting my mood swings under control. Also self-care, some me-time and retail-window-therapy on Vinted end Lacemarket. I genuienly didn´t like the person I became, so I need to work on myself a little more. Those are not necessary lolita things, but the notion of EGL makes it feel more personal to me.
Type of decor I would enjoy Source
See you soon! ♡ ~('▽^人)

52 Weeks Lolita Challenge
I started this challenge years ago, on my previous blog.
I was not sure why I abbandoned that blog, because I poured a lot of effort into it, and then I started to read the articles. They are not bad, but my god. My social life. I used to be party girl in high school, which improved my confidence first, but also got me in an downward spiral. Reading those articles, where everything was new is fun, but also makes me scared for choices that girl used to make.
So yeah, it feels right I switched to new one year ago and now (simultaneously) Tumblr :D. I didn´t finish this challenge, just like most other things, but I want to revisit it and maybe even answer all the questions? After all, this is The Year I´m Getting Things DoneTM.
We will see :D.

Lolita Challenge: Week 30 – 32: What’s a complete Wardrobe?, Impulse Buys and Great Deals
How long it took me to build a complete wardrobe
I have no idea what this “complete wardrobe” is that they are talking about. Which is why I merged this post with the next one:
Impulse buys that were totally worth it
I seldom impulse-buy when it comes to Lolita. Or fashion in general. Except when in second hand shops or TKmaxx, because when it’s gone there, well, it’s gone. Which brings us to…

42. The ways in which I fit the cliche
Well I like tea, a lot. And cakes. And tea cakes. And cakes with tea. All right you get the picture: I'm in my element at tea parties.
Also I'm into sewing and crochet. I crochet little embellishments for my coords and I'm trying to sew my first Lolita skirt as we speak (possibly a bad idea this).
I'm obsessed with Japanese pop culture and Jpop (No judging, nobody is perfect right? :D )
Fashion history, trends, awesome fabrics, LACE, I'm into that...
...and I quote FYeah Lolita: "Have streak of melancholy or the morbid, often expressed through musical choices. They are gentle in manner and quiet in speech." That's me down to a tea *evil laugh*.
Did anyone say chocolate?!

Lolita Challenge: Week 29: Lolitafying things in my everyday life
I’ll name this picture “What my tea usually does not look like”.
Lolitafying things in my everyday life
When I was just getting into Lolita, I wanted everything in my life to be Lolita compatible: My school things, my pajamas, my toothbrush, everything. It didn’t really work out, and I stuck to my military backpack, and my – I have no idea what I wore to sleep back then – and my completely…
