Blood of Autumn Tastes Like Briars
Blood of dying autumn tastes like briars. I miss you, autumn, where are you? I can breathe your fading shades.

43. The ways in which I do not fit the cliche
I'm slightly older than your average Lolita and got into the fashion quite late. I do not like dolls. Not that I think they're creepy or anything like that, it's just not my thing. I was never fond of dolls even as a child. I had all manner of toys like MLP and Sylvanians which I still love and I suppose are similar to dolls but that's the closets I ever got to owning one.
I read Novala's books and essays. I'm skeptical about it. I do not keep an elegant boudoir because I'm still a tomboy at heart. I don't own a parasol (yet). I'm terrible at remembering print's names.
I love Lolita and it means a lot to me but I don't want to make every aspect of my life relate to it. Since it's intertwined with other passions of mine Lolita certainly represents a huge part of me.Still it's just another hobby and I wish to keep it so.

42. The ways in which I fit the cliche
Well I like tea, a lot. And cakes. And tea cakes. And cakes with tea. All right you get the picture: I'm in my element at tea parties.
Also I'm into sewing and crochet. I crochet little embellishments for my coords and I'm trying to sew my first Lolita skirt as we speak (possibly a bad idea this).
I'm obsessed with Japanese pop culture and Jpop (No judging, nobody is perfect right? :D )
Fashion history, trends, awesome fabrics, LACE, I'm into that...
...and I quote FYeah Lolita: "Have streak of melancholy or the morbid, often expressed through musical choices. They are gentle in manner and quiet in speech." That's me down to a tea *evil laugh*.
Did anyone say chocolate?!

41. Fondest meetup memory
Meeting new friends and hanging out with exsisting one is definitely one of my favourite things in Lolita. Last Saturday my fiancee and I travelled to Bristol for a friend's birthday. My friend always looks so gorgeous in Lolita and her coords are often an inspiration to me. I was delighted to attend her Birthday meet up (senpai has noticed me @__@) and excited to visit a town for the first time.
We had afternoon tea in a pretty hotel were we had a whole room to ourselves! Everybody looked amazing and the food was delicious. I chatted away as usual and met interesting people. Afterward Nick and I went for a walk around Bristol. We saw some of Banksy's art and had an awesome meal in a cozy pub.
It was such a lovely day which is why I've chosen it as my fondest memory. I'm off to the US in two days where I'll meet some fellow Lolitas and can't wait. I sense more fond memories to come!

40. 5 inspirational fictional characters
I've hit a difficult one with this and I've stopped blogging the challenge for three weeks. I just couldn't think of anything good because I've never used fictional characters as an inspiration for creating outfits. So I thought about it and decided I liked the idea, and since it's supposed to be challenging (clue is in the name, hehe) not to let it put me off.
Here's what I came up with, together with a brief description of why I like the character. I actually haven't put together any of these looks yet but I definitely want to realise the Black Butler circus one.
Black Butler
I love the anime and the circus tent. I heard Hellocon's theme is circus and I really would love to attend in Ouji. I'm thinking a black and white outfit with diamond and striped OTK as the base.
Marie
I'm playing Persona Golden 4 at the moment. It's an awesome game that combines my love of vieo games with my interest in psychology. I would like to do a punk lolita outfit with some elements from her looks.
Agnes
From Bravely default, another of my favourite games. I like what she wears and I'm thinking of an Old school outfit with this.
Boardwalk Empire
I'm not thinking of any particular character here but more about the fashion in general. I think most of the 1920's aesthetic could work very well with Lolita. The hairstyles and cuts, the fabrics, and the colours. Classic Lolita is what comes to mind here, some Victorian Maiden dresses for example.
Snow White
A bit of an obvious one I admit, but isn't she gorgeous? BTSSB agrees with me so I can't be wrong :D Claudia the fairytale princess op is so pretty, I'd love to own it one day.
The important thing the bear in mind with outfits inspired to fictional characters is the word INSPIRED. I'm thinking it'll be hard to pull off without making it look too costumey, which is why I steared clear from doing it so far. I'm going to wait until my eye becomes better at understanding Lolita elements and then I'll give it a go!
