How is The PMI® Certification Digital Badge Valuable to A Project Manager?
https://online.imt-pm.com/blog/how-is-the-pmi%C2%AE-certification-digital-badge-valuable-to-a-project-manager--673
The PMI® certification — globally recognized — confirms that you have the knowledge, skills, and experience to contribute to project, strategic and organizational success. You worked hard to earn it, and the PMI® certification digital badge helps you prove it. So what is the value of the PMI® certification digital badge for a project manager? This article will answer your questions.
What is a digital badge?
A web-enabled form of certification, or learning result, that can be verified online in real-time is known as a digital badge. Achievement in study or professional development is recognized with a digital badge. It may be disseminated over the internet for maximum visibility and recognition because it is digital.
Why is PMI® offering digital badges?
PMI® recognizes that many individuals proudly show their certificates on their social networks, email signatures, and other platforms, so we've created digital badges to let you do the same. A digital badge also provides other important information, such as what it takes to get certificates, what abilities you've exhibited, and when you gained certifications.
How is the PMI® Certification Digital Badge valuable to a Project Manager?
1. Prove your achievements to easily get insider job market information
PMI® has collaborated with Credly to give you a digital badge that will make you proud of your knowledge and accomplishments. Furthermore, your badge includes useful job market information to help you develop your career.
2. Broadcast your achievements
Your badge is a digital version of your certifications, skills, and qualifications. It allows you to easily show colleagues, friends, or potential employers:
When you earned the certification
What key skills are associated with the certification
What it takes to qualify for the certification
The work you do to actively maintain the certification
You can share your badge on social networking sites, in an email signature, or embed it on a website. You can share your achievements with anyone, anywhere you want.
3. Stay competitive and find more opportunities in your career
Your digital badge also gives you useful labor market insights that you can leverage to advance your career. The Credly Platform allows you to access information such as:
Job opportunities are looking for your PMI® certification
The salary you can expect to earn
Which employers are looking for individuals with your skills.

What Is The Salary Of A Project Manager?
https://online.imt-pm.com/blog/what-is-the-salary-of-a-project-manager--672
Are you wondering how much the salary of a Project Manager is? If you have a PMP® certificate, is there a difference in salary compared to someone without? Before you decide to get a PMP® certification, these questions must have crossed your mind. This article will help you answer them based on Earning Power: Project Management Salary Survey—Eleventh Edition.
What is “Earning Power: Project Management Salary Survey”?
PMI's biennial report, Earning Power: Project Management Salary Survey—Eleventh Edition, is the leading source of industry data for both project implementers and organizations. The organization wants to update the salary situation for today's project specialist.
The most recent edition contains detailed insights from 32,000 respondents in 42 countries, with wage statistics presented in native currency in each country's reports. This edition includes wage data from five previously unknown countries: Indonesia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Portugal, and the Russian Federation. And this critical information may assist recruiters, human resource experts, and compensation specialists in establishing fair and balanced pay for project management jobs inside their businesses.
Overall Findings
Almost three-quarters of survey respondents (72%) indicate that their total remuneration (including salary, bonuses, and other types of compensation) grew in the 12 months before the salary survey. Approximately one-quarter (28%) reported increases of at least 5% over that time period.
Those with the globally-recognized Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification from PMI® report considerable earnings gains in the majority of the nations studied. Those with the PMP® certification earn a higher median salary (22% more on average across the 42 nations examined) than those without a PMP® certification.
Median salary varied significantly depending on a number of key demographic factors, particularly the following:
Country of employment
Number of years of experience in project management
PMP® Certification Status
Position/role
The average size of projects managed, including average project budget and average project team size
Salary by classification of each factor will be presented below:
1. Country of Employment
As demonstrated in the table below, the median income (when translated to US dollars using standard exchange rates) differs greatly across project professionals from nation to country.
Switzerland (US$132,086), the United States (US$116,000), and Australia (US$101,381) have the highest median incomes for project professionals, while Pakistan (US$14,914) and Egypt (US$13,933) have the lowest median salaries.
2. Number of Years of Experience in Project Management
The median pay for project managers is expected to rise in tandem with their duration in project management.
3. PMP® Certification Status
The PMP® credential is held by the vast majority of survey respondents (82%). Most nations covered in this study indicate higher median wages for PMP® certification holders; however, this varies greatly by country. Those with the PMP® certification have the highest income gains in the Philippines and Indonesia, where PMP® holders report a median compensation that is more than 80% more than those without the certification. The duration of your PMP® certification is also important. The median pay of survey respondents in most countries rises gradually with the amount of time one holds a PMP® certification.
4. Position
Salary increases are associated with increased responsibility in almost all of the nations included in this study. Once again, the pace of increase differs greatly amongst countries. The most dramatic increase is seen in the Philippines, where the median salary increases from US$17,247 for a project manager I to US$24,524 for a project manager II, and US$36,167 for a project manager III.
5. Project Size
Those managing larger projects in terms of the average number of team members and average project budget also reported higher median salaries in most countries included in this study. Again, pay disparities between those managing larger projects and those managing smaller projects to vary substantially by country.
In short, the salary of a Project Manager depends on the 5 factors outlined in the article. Of course, if you have a PMP® certificate, your salary will be higher than those without.

What's New In The PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition?
https://workshop.imt-pm.com/2021/08/31/whats-new-in-the-pmbok-guide-seventh-edition/
A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) is PMI's flagship publication. It's a must-have resource for everyone interested in inefficient project management in any sector. Corporate has evolved significantly over the years, yet projects continue to be critical drivers of business success. The Standard for Project Management is included in the book. The standard acts as the basis for the huge body of information, while the guide captures and summarizes that knowledge.
In 2021, PMI® published The PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition with more knowledge in the field of project management. This article will tell readers the basic contents and main changes of The PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition.
1. Why did PMI® change the PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition?
The technological revolution has changed the way many professions work, including project management. From feedback from project management experts in various fields around the world, PMI® realized that an improvement in content and structure was needed to reflect the current working method. Learners need to identify the right approach to get the job done and create value. PMI® also realized that it was time to update the PMBOK® Guide to stay relevant and meet customer needs.
However, PMBOK® Guide – 7th Edition does not impact the PMP® Exam Prep Training Materials. It is important to note that the PMP® exam is based on the Exam Content Outline, not on the PMBOK® Guide.
2. What's new in The PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition?
Emerging technologies, new techniques, and quick market developments have altered the world of work in recent years, forcing the profession to evolve. A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Seventh Edition has been upgraded to address these issues, better fit with how people work today, and assist you in being more proactive, inventive, and nimble.
This Edition of the PMBOK® Guide:
Reflects the full range of development approaches (predictive, traditional, adaptive, agile, hybrid, etc.)
Provides an entire section devoted to tailoring the development approach and processes
Expands the list of tools and techniques in a new section, "Models, Methods, and Artifacts."
Focuses on project outcomes in addition to deliverables
Integrates with PMIstandards+™ for access to content that helps the user apply the PMBOK® Guide on the job
Including both The Standard for Project Management and the PMBOK® Guide, this modern Edition presents 12 principles of project management and 8 project performance domains critical for the effective delivery of project outcomes.
The PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition reflects the evolving profession and enables you to get the job done and deliver value.
The change from the PMBOK® Guide 6th Edition to 7th Edition
3. When will the publication The PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition be published in other languages (other than English)?
The PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition will release the English version first. It will then be translated in late summer/early fall 2021, with PDF and eBook versions in August, then hard copies around October.
PMI® will translate The PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition into versions: Arabic, Chinese (simplified), English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

Have Any Requirements To Renew Certificate? (for PMP®, PgMP®, PfMP®, PMI-PBA®, PMI-ACP®, PMI-RMP®, PMI-SP® and CAPM®)
https://online.imt-pm.com/blog/have-any-requirements-to-renew-certificate-for-pmp%C2%AE-pgmp%C2%AE-pfmp%C2%AE-pmi-pba%C2%AE-pmi-acp%C2%AE-pmi-rmp%C2%AE-pmi-sp%C2%AE-and-capm%C2%AE-667
The article provides complete and detailed information on accumulating PDUs to maintain and renew certificates from PMI® through CCR requirements (for PMP®, PgMP®, PfMP®, PMI-PBA®, PMI-ACP®, PMI-RMP®, PMI-SP®, and CAPM®). True to what PMI® commits, the value of the certificate does not stop at the knowledge learned during exam preparation, but also goes through the activities that the certificate holder must participate in to improve capacity & dedication for the community.
CCR requirements
Once you own a certificate from PMI®, you need to accumulate PDUs & pay the renewal fee to maintain the certificate.
PDU (Professional Development Units) is a system that converts learning and career development activities into specific hours. It can be said that PDU is a unit of measurement used by PMI® to quantify learning and professional performance. One PDU is worth one hour of active participation.
There are two types of PDUs as follows:
Education PDU: A developer of learning opportunities to enhance the owner's capacity, improve leadership, strategy & business management skills.
Giving Back PDU: The developer of sharing activities & using personal knowledge and skills to contribute and develop the owner's professional field.
Each PMI® certificate will have different PDU requirements. Details are in the table below:
Education
Employers, according to research, require practitioners with more than simply technical domain expertise. Leadership and business intelligence abilities are required to support long-term strategic goals that contribute to their success. The optimal skill set is a blend of technical, leadership, strategic, and business management abilities, which we refer to as the PMI Talent Triangle™.
The CCR program's education component is linked with the PMI Talent Triangle™ to ensure you are prepared to remain relevant in a constantly changing corporate environment. As a certification holder, you must acquire a certain amount of PDUs in each of the PMI Talent Triangle™ skill areas: technical, leadership, and strategic and business management. PDUs gained in education can surpass this amount, and there is no limit to the number of PDUs that can be obtained.
The education requirements are further subdivided based on the PMI Talent Triangle™ skill categories, which are listed below:
Giving Back to the Profession
PMI® acknowledges that actively sharing your knowledge and skills is a good way to contribute to the profession. Furthermore, many people feel that giving back is a rewarding learning experience that benefits their professional growth in a variety of ways. As a result, giving back actions qualify for PDUs and are included in the CCR program.
It is crucial to understand that giving back is an optional way to earn PDUs. The above-mentioned giving back criteria are the maximum number of PDUs permitted for any certification in this category. If PDUs are gained by handing them back, the sum cannot exceed the above-mentioned restrictions.
Refer to the infographic below for more information on how you can maintain PDUs for your certification(s).

What is the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) Process?
https://online.imt-pm.com/blog/what-is-the-continuing-certification-requirements-ccr-process-666
The PMP® certification is the most well-known credential for project managers. It was not simple to achieve; you had to go through a certain process. Because the PMP® certification is only valid for three years, you must maintain it active once you have it. To keep your certificate in good standing, you must go through a CCR (Continuing Certification Requirements) cycle. After finishing this, the validity of your certification will be extended for another three years.
What is the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) Program?
PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program encourages certificate holders' knowledge and professional growth so that each individual is equipped with a standard skillset through the accrual of Professional Development Units in complicated corporate contexts (PDUs). The purpose of the CCR program is as follows:
Improve certification holders' continual learning and growth
Provide guidance in developing areas to guarantee qualified practitioners' relevance.
Individualized learning opportunities should be encouraged and recognized.
Provide a method for achieving and documenting professional development activities.
Maintain the global recognition and value of PMI® certifications.
Everyone who obtains a PMI® certification must actively maintain their certifications by participating in the CCR Program and certification renewal. For PMP®, PgMP®, PfMP®, PMI-PBA®, PMI-ACP®, PMI-RMP®, PMI-SP®, and CAPM®, the renewal cycle is every three years. Discipline Agile certifications have a one-year renewal cycle.
Each person has different professional demands and objectives. The CCR program is meant to be adaptable, allowing you to tailor your CCR activities to your specific needs. The CCR program gives a broad structure and direction; you decide your ultimate CCR and growth route.
Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) Process
The process of participating in the CCR program consists of a few important phases:
Pass the exam and earn a certification
Attending activities to earn PDUs
Record and report PDUs
Satisfy CCR requirements
Pay the fee and renew certification
CCR renewal complete
CCRS features a comprehensive online user guide. You can find the user guide in the Handbooks and Guides section of CCRS.

After obtaining a PMP® certificate, it is essential to keep your certification current and valid. PMI® requires you to renew PMP® certificate by obtaining the appropriate number of Professional Development Units (PDUs) every three years. This cycle begins when you pass the PMP® certification exam.
PDUs are hours spent teaching, studying, reading, creating, working, or volunteering in project management or a related function. Over three years, you must acquire a certain amount of PDUs for each PMI® certification you possess.
How to check my PDUs?
As previously stated, we now have a better understanding of the activities and types of PDUs that can be used to renew certification. You can use this information to make a list of various activities that interest you and match them to PDU requirements to come up with a plan that works best for you.
While collecting your required PDUs, you can report and check the number of PDUs you have claimed on PMI® website.
Login to PMI® CCRS using your PMI® account.
You will see the number of PDUs you earned and the remaining PDUs you have to collect in each category at the dashboard screen.
To claim PDUs, go to "PDUs" section, click "Report PDUs"
There are links for both Education and Giving Back PDUs. Choose the type of activity that you were in, follow the instructions, and fill in the activity information to claim your PDUs.
You should follow the preceding procedures until you have completed the PDUs requirement for the certification you need to review. For example, if you are a PMP®, you must claim 60 PDUs within three years after your certification date.
Once you have earned the required PDUs for your certifications, you can submit them to PMI® and pay the certification renewal fee. The submission and fee payment are completed on the PMI® website. By completing the PDU submission process, you renew your certification for another three-year cycle.

How to Report PDUs for PMP® Renewal?
https://online.imt-pm.com/blog/how-to-report-pdus-for-pmp%C2%AE-renewal-662
As long as holding the PMP® certificate, you can start earning PDUs for the 3-year renewal cycle. In order to report the number of PDUs you have collected from various activities, you have to login into PMI® CCRS (Continuing Certification Renewal System) using your PMI® account.
At your dashboard screen, click on "PDUs" and chose "Report PDUs". You are navigated to a page with a list of various professional development activities that you can claim PDUs.
PDUs (Professional Development Units) is the measuring unit used to quantify approved learning and professional service activities. 1 PDU equals one hour you spent on an activity.
The PDUs can be earned through various activities that focus on two areas: Education and Giving back to the Profession.
1. Education PDUs including the following activities:
Course or Training: Instructor-led formal education courses or classes held in-person or online
Organization Meetings: Meetings, activities and local events related to the profession
Online or Digital Media: Self-paced learning conducted online or through varied forms of digital media
Read: Self-directed reading that is relevant to the certification you hold
Informal Learning: Educational opportunities focused on structured discussions
2. Giving back PDUs including the following activities:
Work as a Practitioner: Working in your certified role
Create Content: Creating new knowledge resources for use by practitioners and the public at large
Give a Presentation Presenting: on topics relevant to the profession
Share Knowledge: Sharing your domain knowledge to help others learn and grow
Volunteer Providing: volunteer services to non-employer or non-client organizations
Chose an activity that you attended and input the required information such as activity name, provider name, activity description, start date and end date, and the number of hours (PDUs) that you spent on the activity.
However, there is a much more straightforward way to report PDUs using PDUs Claim Code. If you attend an activity provided by a PMI® Authorized Training Partner, you will receive a PDUs claim code after finishing the activity (e.g., an online course). On PMI® CCRS webpage - "Report PDUs" section, click on "I have a claim code", and input 10 digit code was given by the PMI® Authorized Training Partner. Because PMI® A.T.P. registered their activity on PMI® CCRS, they have PDUs claim code for their activity, and the activity information is fulfilled automatically. All you have to do is inputting the start date and end date, then submitting the form. PMI® will automatically approve your PDUs right after you submit the form. It's a significant benefit when attending an activity provided by a PMI® Authorized Training Partner.

4 Techniques To Get Consensus In A Project
https://online.imt-pm.com/blog/4-techniques-to-get-consensus-in-a-project-660
1. Fist of Five:
Hand signals are a method for reading a room’s positions nonverbally. They work well with fewer than 250 people, especially with multi-lingual groups. The nature and meaning of individual gestures vary between groups. Still, a widely adopted core set of hand signals include: wiggling of the fingers on both hands, a gesture sometimes referred to as “twinkling”, to indicate agreement; raising a fist or crossing both forearms with hands in fists to indicate a block or strong disagreement; and making a “T” shape with both hands, the “time out” gesture, to call attention to a point of process or order.
One common set of hand signals is called the “Fist-to-Five” or “Fist-of-Five”. In this method, each member of the group can hold up:
a fist to indicate blocking consensus, one finger to suggest changes,
two fingers to discuss minor issues,
three fingers to show a willingness to let the issue pass without further discussion,
four fingers to affirm the decision as a good idea, and
five fingers to volunteer to take the lead in implementing the decision.
2. Roman voting:
Another set of hand signals that can be used in projects is called “Roman voting”—everyone votes simultaneously. Thumbs up signify a “yes” (or agreement), while thumbs down mean a “no” (or disagreement). Then, count the number of thumbs up and thumbs down. Depending on the decision-making rule (consensus or majority rules), the proposal either passes or fails.
A project manager or Scrum Master also may have each person in the group do one of three things:
Give a thumbs up to indicate they want to keep talking about the current topic
Give a thumbs down to indicate they want to move on to the next topic
Give a horizontal thumb to indicate they could go either way (they don’t have a strong opinion)
3. Polling:
Consensus polling is a method of adducing consensus for a given proposal, using a structured polling method that can easily indicate how many people support a proposal and how many people are not yet in support of a proposal.
A consensus poll begins when a static contract (a document set out at the beginning of a poll, which describes the requirements that the poll must satisfy to succeed) is laid down setting out the poll requirements to succeed. A dynamic plan (proposal) is then formulated, which can be changed by the poll participants at any time. If a participant in the poll approves the proposal, they show their approval by indicating “yes”. However, if a participant in the poll disapproves of the proposal, they indicate that with “not yet”.
Once a specified number of people approve of the proposal, the poll enters the “go state”. If a poll remains in the “go state” for a specified length of time, the proposal succeeds. If not enough people support the proposal, then the poll is in the “stop state”.
4. Dot voting:
Dot-voting (also known as dotmocracy or voting with dots) is an established facilitation method used to describe voting with dot stickers or marks with a marker pen. In dot-voting, participants vote on their chosen options using a limited number of stickers or marks with pens — dot stickers being the most common. This sticker voting approach is a form of cumulative voting.
The dot-voting process includes the following steps:
Participants are each given a set number of dot stickers (as decided by the facilitator)
They place dot stickers next to options presented that they like (they may place any number of their dots on any number of the options)
Options with the most dots at the end of voting “win”.

4 Agile Ceremonies a Project Manager Should Know (Part 2)
https://online.imt-pm.com/blog/4-agile-ceremonies-a-project-manager-should-know-part-2-659
3. Sprint Review
The purpose of the Sprint Review is to inspect the outcome of the Sprint and determine future adaptations for the project. The Scrum Team presents the results of their work to key stakeholders and progress toward the Product Goal is discussed.
During the event, the Scrum Team and stakeholders review what was accomplished in the Sprint and what has changed in their environment. Based on this information, attendees collaborate on what to do next. The Product Backlog may also be adjusted to meet new opportunities. The Sprint Review is a working session and the Scrum Team should avoid limiting it to a presentation.
The Sprint Review is the second to last event of the Sprint and is timeboxed to a maximum of four hours for a one-month Sprint. For shorter Sprints, the event is usually shorter.
4. Sprint Retrospective
The purpose of the Sprint Retrospective is to plan ways to increase quality and effectiveness in the project.
The Scrum Team inspects how the last Sprint went with regards to individuals, interactions, processes, tools, and their Definition of Done. Inspected elements often vary with the domain of work. Assumptions that led them astray are identified and their origins explored. The Scrum Team discusses what went well during the Sprint, what problems it encountered, and how those problems were (or were not) solved.
The Scrum Team identifies the most helpful changes to improve its effectiveness. The most impactful improvements are addressed as soon as possible. They may even be added to the Sprint Backlog for the next Sprint.
The Sprint Retrospective concludes the Sprint. It is timeboxed to a maximum of three hours for a one-month Sprint. For shorter Sprints, the event is usually shorter.

4 Agile Ceremonies a Project Manager Should Know (Part 1)
https://online.imt-pm.com/blog/4-agile-ceremonies-a-project-manager-should-know-part-1-658
1. Sprint Planning
Sprint Planning initiates the Sprint by laying out the work to be performed for the Sprint. This resulting plan is created by the collaborative work of the entire Scrum Team in the project.
The Product Owner ensures that attendees are prepared to discuss the most important Product Backlog items and how they map to the Product Goal. The Scrum Team may also invite other people to attend Sprint Planning to provide advice.
Sprint Planning addresses the following topics:
Topic One: Why is this Sprint valuable?
The Product Owner proposes how the product could increase its value and utility in the current Sprint. The whole Scrum Team then collaborates to define a Sprint Goal that communicates why the Sprint is valuable to stakeholders. The Sprint Goal must be finalized prior to the end of Sprint Planning.
Topic Two: What can be Done this Sprint?
Through discussion with the Product Owner, the Developers select items from the Product Backlog to include in the current Sprint. The Scrum Team may refine these items during this process, which increases understanding and confidence.
Selecting how much can be completed within a Sprint may be challenging. However, the more the Developers know about their past performance, their upcoming capacity, and their Definition of Done, the more confident they will be in their Sprint forecasts.
Topic Three: How will the chosen work get done?
For each selected Product Backlog item, the Developers plan the work necessary to create an Increment that meets the Definition of Done. This is often done by decomposing Product Backlog items into smaller work items of one day or less. How this is done is at the sole discretion of the Developers. No one else tells them how to turn Product Backlog items into Increments of value.
The Sprint Goal, the Product Backlog items selected for the Sprint, plus the plan for delivering them are together referred to as the Sprint Backlog.
Sprint Planning is timeboxed to a maximum of eight hours for a one-month Sprint. For shorter Sprints, the event is usually shorter.
2. Daily Scrum
The purpose of the Daily Scrum is to inspect progress toward the Sprint Goal and adapt the Sprint Backlog as necessary, adjusting the upcoming planned work in a project.
The Daily Scrum is a 15-minute event for the Developers of the Scrum Team. To reduce complexity, it is held at the same time and place every working day of the Sprint. If the Product Owner or Scrum Master are actively working on items in the Sprint Backlog, they participate as Developers.
The Developers can select whatever structure and techniques they want, as long as their Daily Scrum focuses on progress toward the Sprint Goal and produces an actionable plan for the next day of work. This creates focus and improves self-management of the project team members.
Daily Scrums improve communications, identify impediments, promote quick decision-making, and consequently eliminate the need for other meetings.
The Daily Scrum is not the only time Developers are allowed to adjust their plan. They often meet throughout the day for more detailed discussions about adapting or re-planning the rest of the Sprint’s work.
