his words often had a habit of falling before he could give them quite enough thought, first response in his head offered without consideration of whether there might be a more diplomatic option - at least when it comes to the male currently stood in front of them. his own eyes can't help but narrow as he takes in the way andy's looking at dj, grateful for the hand gently squeezing his own when it stops him taking a step forward to say something about it. instead he allows himself to be pulled quickly away, satisfaction at least taken from the speechless expression that paints the other male's features. “ trust me, i hate that guy too. ” he agrees with a light grin, coming to a slow stop just a little further up from their prior spot to turn and face dj. “ thank you though — you were great. the best fake girlfriend a guy could ask for. ” which doesn't quite explain why he still hasn't let go of her hand, his own free one raising to pull anxiously through dark hair as he glances back in aiden's direction. “ i'm sorry about that, by the way. him, obviously. but what i said too — i would have mention it to you before, it's just... not something i tend to bring up. ” which was unusual with dj. there was very little she didn't know about him and yet for some reason it felt strange to discuss his exes with her. especially ones that went badly.

SHE DOESN'T NEED THE INTRODUCTION to know she already hates this guy. his stance, the way he's looking her up and down like something he can buy. dj can look past that, could even find it in her heart to keep this man entertained for a second or two if not for the obvious condescending glance he's shooting in jai's direction. that makes her blood boil. she's ready to extend a hand before jai speaks, but as he does her hand stills at her side. the frown is evident on her face for only a second before she pulls it together for long enough to view this andy with a false smile. « well, i suppose i should look out then, » dj jokes humorlessly, gaze tilting up to look at jai as she gives his hand a squeeze. « we should get going, darling. bye, aiden, » she misnames him on purpose and turns on her heel, still hand in hand with jai. once they've put andy behind them she can't help but laugh. « what the actual fuck ? seriously ? i hate that guy. »

Never was the saniwa a morning person, especially if he's in one of the rare times that he's comfortably asleep. Thankfully, this has been one of those rare nights, having shared a wonderfully intimate night with his beloved toudan.

Saseki stirs just a little at the hand stroking his hair and the lips on his forehead. At the gentle kiss on his lips, the man lets out a soft noise, something between a whine and a sigh, before curling up further into those strong arms. But of course, it doesn't last long as he's eventually roused from his slumber.

The sage slowly opens his eyes, green hues bleary from sleep, before his vision clears and Sengou's visage becomes more apparent. And that earns a soft blush and a smile from Saseki.

I think there's more room in (alt-world) fantasy to incorporate the language barrier aspect. It's fine and all we can wave away (for the most part) characters from different regions/countries just being able to speak the same language no problem. Characters all being polyglots for plot convenience, whatever, I get it. But. Think about how much potential there is here. Characters that have to work together without being able to communicate! Characters that communicate through interpreters! Characters that work as interpreters!!!

one of my favorite parts of strategy games like chess and advance wars is that feeling when you haven't quite won yet but the enemy has no real options so it feels like you're just sloowly wrapping around them like a snake. when all your enemy has is their king and you've managed to turn 3 of your pawns into queens, and all you've gotta do is get in juust the right position, and in the meantime all they can do is squirm. god, that's such a wonderful feeling. nothing quite like it
