✿ Lore (past) ✿

Tabitha Windsor was born in Orono, Maine on April 3rd. Her mother, Opal Windsor, had Tabitha through artificial semination. Growing up, her household only consisted of her and her mother. Though considered unorthodox by many of the locals in her town, Tabitha was perfectly happy with the serenity and closeness that was garnered as a result of her upbringing.

The Windsors were not particularly wealthy during Tabitha’s childhood. Though most of her early memories originate from Orono, the Windsors moved around quite frequently in order to keep up with her mother’s job. Despite the fact that Opal would do her best to relieve Tabitha of any sort of stress or worry in relation to their finances, Tabby would internalize a lot of the anxiety that she perceived Opal was feeling. In response, she developed a complex where she often viewed herself as being her family's caretaker and protector.

Their norm changed when Tabitha, who preferred the nickname Tabby at this point, and her mother moved across-state to Golden Grove, Oregon. This bode well for the Windsors, seeing as they’d moved for a huge promotion in Opal’s work. Practically, the move was fantastic for them. They’d never been so comfortable! Internally, though, Tabby was struggling.

Tabby was in full self-preservation mode and would shut down around anyone except her mom. Trust is the fundamental aspect that Tabby needs to even have the bare bones of a relationship. Naturally, she didn't have that with anybody when she first moved. Everyone was a stranger. Thus, nobody warranted her trust or friendliness.

This pattern was disrupted when she met a certain kid, who just happened to double as her neighbor. Qiu Lin. It was odd. He was odd to her -- in the best way. Regardless of how cold or snappish she was, his attitude towards her remained the same. And, somehow, she seemed to intrinsically trust him because of his overtly accommodating nature. Here, a fixation with him starts.

Her first interactions with her other neighbor, Tamarack, start off rather iffy. Tabby immediately closes Tamarack off because she sees Tam as unpredictable and erratic (exactly what Tabby loathes). Tabby could tolerate her, but never tried to approach the bubbly ginger as a friend. Over time, though, they slowly develop a positive relationship. As aforementioned, it's all about building trust for her.

Unfortunately, all the positive rapport made seems to regress as she approaches adolescence. Her crush on Qiu develops into a more severe fixation. In a sense, they become like the crux of her life. She bases her worth around their approval of her -- and actively changes herself to fit the mold that she assumes they would like. It's very self-destructive for her esteem. She's not very liked among her peers in highschool because she is seen as unapproachable and harsh. That’s mostly due to her chronic resting-bitch-face. She's actually extremely patient and compassionate when approached, but most don't bother breaching that barrier.

Her mom eventually intervenes whenever she realizes that Tabby's feelings towards Qiu need to be addressed and worked through. And, eventually, it does get better! It just takes her a while. By the time she’s nearly fifteen, she actually has a heart-to-heart with Qiu about it. They both agree they have feelings for each other, but make the active choice not to date because they both have issues they want to sort out first.

Tamarack and Tabby's relationship, in turn, deteriorates because their older personalities begin to grate against each other. Tamarack's serene and bashful nature strongly contrasts Tabby's. Tamarack's personality entirely changing undoes a lot of the trust they'd established, since Tabby views Tamarack as an entirely different person.

By the time Tabby turns eighteen, she starts publicly using she/they (with no preference). Her and Qiu also start dating slightly after they both turn eighteen. Tabby starts volunteering a local animal shelter which is really good for her mental health!

Her and Opal are still extremely close, but they've mellowed out quite a bit and take a step back from her protective tendencies.

Them and Tamarack are able to establish strong communication once again, and can eventually overcome to the awkwardness that tainted their relationship. Really, it just required effort on both of their parts. They’re able to be good friends, but never become best friends, as Tamarack would have liked when they were children.

Everything is likely to change as more OL:NF content becomes available. But for now, this is the overview of Tabby!

Hello everyone! Thanks for bearing with me while I finally decided what/who my Qiu!MC was going to be! It was definitely a wild ride, and in total I cycled through two whole characters before deciding on Tabby.

Tabby herself has turned out to be a character that I really enjoy writing and drawing. I like the themes that I chose to explore in her lore, and I find myself relating to them in a lot of small ways.

I didn’t overtly talk about it above, but Tabby’s whole motif is cats/felines — hence the nickname Tabby! In S2 she even hides a litter of kittens in Qiu’s fort. And, of course, she later dedicates their life to the care of animals.

Background:

She was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Edmund Prescott and Paisley Prescott (neé Barclay). Her father, Edmund is an heir to a famous hotel called 'The Hera Hotel' in Boston while her mother, Paisley is the daughter of a socialite. Both of them come from old money families and met through the connections of their own families, the two were and still are happy with each other. After Paisley gave birth to Barbara's older sister, Marsha at the age of 23, they were happier than ever because they wanted to start a family of their own and... they did. Although they spoiled Marsha so much like other rich families, they don't teach her to be rude to people who are not rich like them, who don't have the luxury as them and they did the same teaching to Barbara. 4 years later, Paisley gave birth to Barbara and they treat her the same way as they treat Marsha. Growing up, Barbara was like a normal child as if she's not from a rich family. She's not snobbish but instead treats people who're not rich with equality and ignore the fact that they're not from rich families like her, because why would she care? It's not her business to care about it and to her, it's very rude to judge what they're from and their fortunes. Other than that, Her parents sent Barbara to Bullworth Academy when she was 11 so that she could have her education there. It was her father's decision because he used to attend there and wanted her to go to a school that isn't as luxurious nor filled with rich kids (except for the preps). Barbara didn't mind it because her sister Marsha is also a student at the academy, so she's not alone. At the academy, Barbara joined the preps and the rest as people say, is history

Personality:

She doesn't care about how people who aren't rich are different from rich people, she thinks it's ridiculous. She wants her fellow preps to treat others the same way as they treat each other but that seems to backfire because she would get scoffs and even insults from them, she would just roll her eyes and say "you all are so ridiculous". A lot of people say that she's nice for a prep, which Barbara understands why they say "for a prep", because other preps aren't so... Nice and she wishes that they (the preps) would change their attitude but she doesn't think that they would in the future, but she feels there's hope for them to change. She helps others and sometimes stands up to a person who's getting bullied, she just hates seeing people getting bullied, it makes her uncomfortable. Barbara is a fashion girlie, she LOVES it and lives for it. She doesn't over-dress too much but she doesn't dress like a person who dressed themselves in the dark, she really likes to give fashion advice to someone and talk about fashion with Gord Vendome. She's confident about the way she is and everything that is going on, she doesn't shy away from anyone and she would be honest about them in front. She's a curious girl who wants to know more about someone who she thinks are kinda interesting, she would ask questions but if it makes them uncomfortable then she would stop and let them live their wonderful (or not-so-wonderful) day. She's also impatient but not as impatient as Pinky Gauthier, Barbara doesn't like waiting for 20-30 minutes and she would call them on her phone, telling them to hurry. But if she has a date and her boyfriend was late for, like, 15-20 minutes then she would tell him on her phone that she wants to cancel it because he's late, the reason for it is because she doesn't want to waste her time and doesn't want to wait for them for an HOUR. She can be very annoyed if someone cat-calls her or insults her for no reason or even tells her what to do if she's in a bad mood, she would answer them with insults while glaring at them. She judges people very easily based on their attitude or gossips about them, she can easily believe about the gossips if it sounds legit (she gets gossips from Christy)

Overall, she's a wonderful prep and not like her fellow preps who are all classist and snobbish towards non-rich folks. But she can be a bitch sometimes

--- Thad is Barbara's tutor. She failed math for the 3rd time (it's a hard subject, so it's understandable), so the teacher told Barbara that she's going to need a tutor, which she's fine with because she doesn't want to fail while Thad being surprised and a little frightened that he's going to be tutor to a prep. Thad begins to tutor her about math and keeps on going everyday and then the two slowly develop feelings for each other. Three weeks later later, they started to date

--- she's LOUD and PROUD of her dating Thad, she doesn't care about him being a nerd and him being not rich. She doesn't care and she loves his personality, and she thinks his lisps are cute. While her fellow preps are judging her for this (Bryce doesn't judge her that much because she's his childhood bestie), she would ignore them and change the subject every time but if it doesn't work then she would say "Why do you care so much?"

Once, Blue was a notorious local bully. But after the rude young boy lost his short-lived championship title to his neighbor and rival, Red, he seemed to recede into his own troubled mind, turning his back on the world. Dark periods never last forever, though- soon enough he began to straighten his life out, taking on the responsibility of becoming the Leader of Viridian Gym, and later, taking years away from home to see the world and find himself.

Nowadays, he's become widely respected and considered on equal footing with his childhood rival once again. his corpse was 85lbs upon exhumation. of course we need to account for mummification /dehydration weight loss but also he was extremely sick right before dying. his stomach was empty so we can assume he wasn't eating/keeping food down, so he likely lost a ton of weight very quickly and then coughed himself to death. but also his job was Manual Labor so (when healthy) he must have had some sort of lithe wirey build. so imo there's no way he ever weighed more than 115lbs~120lbs at his most healthy.

Meet My OCs: Lilliwiess

Welcome to Meet my OC, where I take a character from my WIPs and explain them in detail: who they are, what they do, and what makes them tick. First up is Lilliwiess, from my WIP “Sunset”

Background & personality: who are they?

Lilliwiess is the third daughter and fourth child of the Farrowynn Estate, and naturally the youngest. She has dark brown(almost black) hair that falls just past her shoulders which she keeps in a ponytail, and blueish-grey eyes, taking after her mother rather than the lighter brown hair of her dad. She stands at around 5'4", making her my shortest OC to date. Being the youngest of the Farrowynn family, there was pressure from her father to find a someone to settle down with. she decided that she didn't want to be married off and follow her older sister’s footsteps in becoming a Knight.

Lilli has an acute memory and a determined attitude: when she sets her mind to something, she uses everything in her power to get it accomplished. She isn't afraid to bend the rules or find loopholes to achieve her goals, but, she also knows when to quit. For her, though, that's a double-edged sword because she has some self-worth issues Her ambitions to become a Knight are challenged by two things: Hemophilia, a condition that makes the battlefield that much more dangerous. and the ability to use magic, a skill usually unique to the Fae, Spirits, and Wyvernkind. Using magic(known as Weaving) is shunned in Tarn and those who can are often outcasts and ostracized for their ability, and as a result, she's very guarded and secretive. however, she's not timid and gets along with her peers just fine, even if she comes across blunt sometimes.

Hobbies

Lilli spends her time reading or sparring. She also enjoys knitting and sewing, to the point where she considered it as a career earlier in her life(what a different story that would've been), before setting her sights on becoming a knight. She like learning new things and finds it worthwhile to take time learning skills pertinent to her life

Relationships

Lilliwiess is a lesbian and isn’t particularly interested in pursuing a relationship with someone, right up until she meets Tira at the Knights academy. She broke up with her last romantic partner, Clara, on amicable terms. Clara, being a year older than Lilli, also had ambitions to enter the Knights academy(Clara was the one who convinced Lilli to follow her dream to become a knight). Clara didn’t want a love interest distracting her at the academy, so they parted ways.

Lilli has a healthy relationship with her older sister, Milliana, whom she lives with. She dislikes Cecilia, her second sister, and respects Theodore, her older brother, who tutored her in her early years.

Her relationship with her dad is less than healthy. He wants to marry her off to protect her, which, of course, she doesn’t want. Between him and a mom who she barely knows(due to her position at the capital) Lilli lacks a true parental figure(and spent a lot of time in the library alone.)

ARE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?: My mom apparently read through a few baby name books to find my first name, but my middle name was picked after my grandma.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?: A week or two ago. I was feeling particularly sensitive (thank you, hormones) and I was curious whether my dog, who expresses love by licking, has figured out by now that my weird human kissy sounds are my equivalent of affection. So I started Googling "does my dog know--" and came across so many searches along the lines of "does my dog know I love them?" that I started crying about how much people love their pets and how much they want to make sure the pets are aware of this.

DO YOU HAVE KIDS?: Nope.

WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED?: I rotated through a bunch of sports as a kid (roller skating, swimming, basketball, flag football). In my adult years, I'm more of a "go jogging or do a YouTube workout routine once a month" kind of person.

DO YOU USE SARCASM?: Yes, but I tend to accidentally make it very deadpan, so people who don't know me well are often confused because they think I'm serious lmao. I do love using sarcasm around those who know me, especially my partner. Good-humored sarcastic/silly banter is a love language and the way to my heart.

FAVOURITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL?: I love learning in general, but I think my favorite subject was languages; which, growing up in Mexico, mostly entailed learning English. Once I tested out of that, I switched to French, which was also fun.

DREAM JOB?: I plan to be the clinician that people go see when they need to check in about their brain's health. I also want to be a leader in the field to help make sure that Spanish speakers, low-income/uninsured, and other marginalized folks have access to those services.

Personality: A remote force of nature. He keeps to himself, but he appears to chat frequently among specific people. He can be gruff, but you can tell he genuinely cares. He is a gentleman, so don't assume otherwise. He is tolerant, yet he has a nasty temper and is not afraid to impose rules when dealing with tough people. He takes extreme care in his job and doesn't hesitate to put people in their place if he has to. He has a soft place for children and is willing to help others care for or babysit them. He is an adept in battle and fighting.

Appearance: He has two scars on his left eye. He has sharp fangs. He has a pair of very large wings.

Personality: He has the filthiest sense of humor in this establishment. He is quite dedicated about his job. He's a legendary flirt with a huge body count, but he also cares deeply about his family. He is clear and true. He is more dependable than a dog in relationships. He is the second worst at kidnapping information. He's a man who holds grudges. When his loved ones are in danger, he will reach for the throat. He takes betrayal very personally and can be outraged for days, if not months. He is loyal and would never do anything to damage his loved ones if he could avoid it.

Appearance: Alwyn has a single gold tooth. His gold tooth is sharper than his other teeth. He has a scar on his left eye. He has a tattoo on his back of a camellia.

Personality: She is a quiet, but strong and fearless. She appears to be everywhere at once and works extremely hard at her job. She is very compassionate and empathetic attitude. She is honest and tries to be gentler than others perceive her to be. She is completely in control of her temper and is unwilling to fight. She is close to the others because on the inside she is a very lonely person. She collaborates with friends on her writing. She is a great listener and knows nearly everything. She is also very calm and relaxed.

Appearance: She’s a woman with hazel eyes. She has curly brown hair. She has two scar on her face and a large old scsar on her head. She either wears glasses or has contacts. She also has more scars on her torso and body. She's muscular, yet chubby. She's 5'1". She has red highlights in her hair.
