Arash featuring Rebecca Zadig - Temptation 2005

"Temptation" is a 2005 major hit single by Iranian-Swedish singer Arash featuring Rebecca Zadig and taken from Arash's self-titled debut album. The music for "Temptation" is from "Baila Maria", a Spanish tune recorded by Ishtar Alabina featuring Los Niños de Sara in 1996. "Temptation" in its own right has been subject of many covers and in a number of languages.

"Temptation" was first recorded by Swedish singer Rebecca Zadig with additional lyrics and rendition vocals featuring Arash, who started his career performing under his mononym Alex. The first version had English as main vocals by Zadig featuring Arash that interpreted some additional Persian language lyrics. "Temptation" was re-released as a song mainly in the Persian language, this time crediting Arash as the main vocalist, and Rebecca Zadig was reduced to a featuring role. This release became the definitive version and was Arash's third successful consecutive single after "Boro Boro" and "Tike Tike Kardi" (poll #137). The song credited to Arash made it to number 2 on the Swedish Singles Chart, and also charted in Germany, Switzerland and Finland.

In 2005, a Russian language version of the song was made by Arash with the Russian girl group Blestyaschie. The song titled "Vostochniye skazki" (Eastern fairytales) was credited to Blestyaschie featuring Arash. In 2006, the South African cover boyband Hi-5 covered the song in Afrikaans under the title "Versoeking". It was a main single and the title track of their album. In 2015, the Dutch group Wing-Men covered the song in Dutch under the title "Verleid Mij", and released it as their debut single.

At long last, it is time to invoke my birthday trivia! I love your pieces on the color pie and I’m a huge Assassin’s Creed fan, so I’d love if you had any interesting trivia on AC cards that the Council of Colors discussed or tweaked. If nothing comes to mind, I am a massive fan of Boros and Minotaurs; if there’s any trivia about Boros Minotaurs, that would be lovely, or either individually. I get a ton from DtW and Making Magic, keep up the wonderful work!

In Theros block, Minotaurs power and toughness had to add up to a least 5. We made one exception later in the block.

So I (🔎) decided to dig more into 2016 because I had plenty of evidence for overlap but also didn't lol. Note this was Azzi's first year with Fairfax Stars and Paige played for North Tartan. Long story short, there was overlap but they were in different divisions. Paige played on NT 8th team the summer before her 9th. Azzi was apparently playing on a 10th grade team the summer before her 8th grade. But they were indeed in the same locations.

The Role of Sarada Uchiha in “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex”

The importance of Sarada Uchiha in the series has undergone significant changes throughout the series, and it is important to highlight three key stages in the development of her character.

These three stages have been outlined by the two main writers of the series, Kishimoto and Kodachi.

1st Stage: Kishimoto's Introduction

Let's remember that Sarada and Boruto were the first two characters of the new generation whose foundations and relationship were established by Kishimoto. He presents both characters as a duality that marks the beginning of the series. Through their childhood fights and encounters, a complex friendship is shown that reveals the true character and desires of both characters, who carry important legacies on their shoulders and have big dreams in their hearts. 2nd Stage: Kodachi's Era

Kodachi takes control of the manga and begins its serialization based on the foundations established by Kishimoto, respecting his canon and, at the same time, incorporating his own script into the story. We continue to see Sarada's important interactions with Boruto, as well as her own development. Her climax comes during the fight against Boro, but suddenly her role is relegated to simply being Boruto's team mate until she disappears from the manga, becoming a recurring character. Sarada's last appearance under Kodachi's direction is in Chapter 44 of the manga.

3rd Stage; 2nd Era of Kishimoto:

Starting from Chapter 52, Kishimoto takes over the complete writing of the manga, closing Kodachi's storylines and introducing characters that would change the direction of the story. It is from Chapter 69 where Kishimoto reintroduces Sarada and gradually restores her importance as one of the pillars of the plot, thus regaining her initial relevance in the development of the story.

It is important to highlight that Sarada is reintroduced into the narrative with a clear desire: to be an important support for Boruto, someone he can trust and rely on. Sarada doesn't want her best friend to bear all the burden on his shoulders and longs to be capable of protecting him. From a young age, they have always been there for each other unconditionally. Kishimoto presents us again with the duality between both characters, and it is in Chapter 79 where everything finally makes sense. Sarada is destined to save the protagonist, breaking Momoshiki's prophecy and giving Boruto a second chance, putting herself in a vulnerable position within the village. Sarada, the daughter of the traitor (she is the one who begs Sasuke to save Boruto), is seen as a rebel who supports the enemy. Combined with the history of her clan, Sarada is excluded and degraded to a Genin.

By now, you may be wondering: Does Sarada's character depend on Boruto? Well, the answer was mentioned before: Kishimoto set up Sarada and Boruto as a duality, two characters that feed off each other and whose individual storylines have points of connection, basically an analogy of Yin & Yang. The franchise makes many references to Japanese folklore tales and Shinto and Buddhist mythology of Japan, so it shouldn't surprise fans.

Its Sarada's POV that opens the story of "Boruto: Two Blue Vortex." Sarada is immune to omnipotence because that's what Kishimoto needs for the writing. Sarada is the only living witness (besides Eida and the own Boruto) to the entire life story of Boruto. They grew up together and have formed a very complex but important bond of love. Boruto reappears to protect Sarada from Code without her asking him to, he came and stood in front to take care of her because both would give their lives to protect each other. And take note that this will be a critical point in the plot and something that has been building since the beginning of the series.

On the other hand, Eida and Daemon begin to suspect Sarada and Sumire due to Sarada's insistence on uncovering how to reverse the jutsu and understanding Eida's powers. We know how dangerous Daemon can be if he considers them a threat to his sister, or if Eida personally asks Daemon to kill them.

We must not forget that Sarada is an Uchiha. This conditions and enriches her character, making her a user of one of the most powerful and legendary dojutsus in the series: the Mangekyou Sharingan. Although the Mangekyou does not reach the level of shinjutsu or karma, it is a dojutsu of divine lineage that can bring about significant plot twists. It can grant space-time abilities, high-level genjutsus such as Kotoamatsukami and Tsukuyomi, the divine weapons of Susanoo, and even partially alter reality. It may not reach the level of karma or shinjutsu, but she has a very dangerous weapon in her hands that will eventually be decisive in the narrative.

We must not forget Sarada's psychoemotional context; she is intelligent, cunning, determined, is a leader and highly educated, she wants to be the Hokage, she wants to protect the people she loves & Konoha, but she is still an Uchiha. Her bloodline carries a great weight in her emotions, making her irritable and reactive. She is deeply affected by everything that has happened in the past three years: Sasuke is being hunted, so her family is separated again, Boruto is unjustly condemned as a criminal and deserter because of Omnipotence, the seventh, her role model, is presumed “dead”, and she has been ostracized. She lives in a world blinded by a false reality, the perfect cocktail to build a story of drama, power, and love, befitting the heir of the Uchiha Clan.

Felidar (Monster)

(I'm posting for the time being! Expect two posts a week right now.

Magic the Gathering has a habit of creating types of beast to make their settings more fleshed out and fill out the mechanical slot of "generic large beast" in different places- felidar, krushok, cerodon, thoctar... all are creatures with a defined look and name. They're fun targets for monster creating, and I'm generally looking to make these Magical Beasts to keep it interesting. I started with Felidar because, well, I love big cats. As with all my creatures, I tried to give them a fun plot hook.)

CR6 NG Large Magical Beast

Felidar are large catlike predators typically found in mountainous regions, where they use their powerful roars and expert climbing skills to hunt down and kill prey. Felidar are more intelligent than an animal, though not by much- they have no true language, and prefer to live in simple family units or just hunt alone. Perhaps their most intelligent aspect is their knowledge of magic and magical places, as well as a capability for empathy- a felidar who sees an injured humanoid is willing to provide healing, and one whose trust has been gained will often lead humanoids to places of great magic potential- or to the location of a dangerous interloper or creature that needs to be dealt with for the good of the mountain.

Felidar are beings connected to the Plane of Positive Energy, and a vivacious life flows through them. One pint of felidar blood can be used as 100gp of materials to craft any potion of the Healing subschool. Felidar never give this blood freely, instead using their roar or Cure Moderate Wounds spell-like ability- some unscrupulous mages take this blood by force, typically injuring or killing these majestic animals.

This large cat has a splendid rack of antlers upon its head, its horns and insides glowing with a vivacious life.

The first roar startles; each enemy within the area of effect must make a Will save or trigger an attack of opportunity.

Each roar is a 60ft cone with a save DC of 16. The DC is constitution-based.

The second roar harms, dealing 7d6 sonic damage to all creatures- ally or enemy- within the area of effect, Reflex save for half.

The third roar restores, healing all allies within the area of effect 7d8 damage and removing the shaken, frightened, or panicked condition.

Vigilant (Ex)- A felidar is never considered to be flat-footed.

I was thinking... (spoilers, spoilers everywhere)

the writing decision of focusing so much on the fact that Aegon's parts were burnt root and stem is probably related to the future alliance with the Baratheons, right?

If they don't change it (lmao), almost at the end of the Dance Alicent comes up with a marriage pact, this time with Aegon instead of Aemond, and Boros's daughter. But with Aegon's inability to produce heirs, how will that work now? Will this alliance still hold?

Oh well, they'll probably use it as an excuse to justify Boros betraying the Greens. Because nope, if TB is betrayed, the Greens must also have at least one betrayal to make up for the huge difference of loyalties :)

In terms of important Houses I can't remember any house betraying the Greens (Great Houses, not others like House Peake or Fossoway). I consider quite curious how, in terms of Black side, House Arryn and House Stark took their sweet time to help them. These two Houses pulled a Late Lord Frey, way before Walder frey was even born lmao

And it's not even secret that Rhaenyra's mother was an Arryn, everybody knew House Arryn would side with the Blacks anyway, the realm knew House Arryn would be a rebel House and still, Jeyne Arryn is shown as very cautious, letting Rhaenyra fend for herself instead of helping her. (Can't blame her though, she was probably the only actually smart woman in this show who wasn't butchered by plot in order to prop Rhaenyra up)

And I won't even mention the Starks. With the reddit leaks I'm very, VEEEERY curious to see the reason behind this late help. Everything depends on whose version will prevail, Condal's or Hess's.

If we take these two houses into account, we have: Strong, Stark, Velaryon, Arryn (and maybe Blackwoods?) betraying the Blacks for their own purposes, not to mention Rosby who made very clear Rhaenyra's hypocrisy, but I doubt they mention anything about this House, right? :D

And when it comes to the Greens... only the Tullys and the Brackens (but as far as we know, their leader was burned by Daemon for refusing to bend the knee, so maaaaaybe they won't even remember them in S3?).

5 (maybe 6) vs 1 (maybe 2), woah, quite a difference in loyalties, even more considering how the Green side has always been the one with less support and dragons.

The thing is: iirc, the allies that betrayed the Greens weren't motivated by distrust in them, or the crown's misdeeds against them (like what happened with Arryn, Stark and Velaryons in TB). It was due to circunstances and manipulation tactics, otherwise, they would have stayed loyal to the greens.

Team Black NATURALLY doesn't inspire loyalty.

So they thought "how can we balance things and make the Blacks look like they inspire more loyalty than the greens???? Oh! How about find a way to shake the Green alliance with Boros Baratheon? Between a Green eunuch with a crown and Rhaenyra's two boys, Boros has more chances of power with her than with Aegon.

Condal, Hess, you can't fool us. We can predict all your moves.

Such a shame though, because by the looks of things it won't even be someone from TG who is going to kill her (if that ever happens in this fanfic of theirs), is most likely someone from TB itself because they simply have no enemies anymore.

Which is far worse PR move for a team who loves to boast about "how Aegon was poisoned by his own allies" :) Hackondal and Mess are stuck with this ending, unlessss they bring back Sunfyre and follow the book. But Rhaenyra, killed by a TG? Naah, it wouldn't be tragic girlboss enough for her. I place my bets on TB.

The anime for One Punch Man really is just SO GOOD. It's a different experience from both the webcomic and the manga, but like... the animation is just SO good, and pleasant to watch in my opinion. The fight scenes are BEAUTIFUL, and it really does a good job of reflecting that all the high-tier heroes around Saitama could ACTUALLY have their own shows/mangas that would be REALLY cool or interesting or funny (with only a few S-tier exceptions). The sparring match between Saitama and Genos as early as episode 5 in season 1 is just... Like, it shows off Genos at "Season Finale" levels of fight-scene badassery, which only adds to the humor of the show.

The fight with BOROS? It's so good. Unbelievably so. It's climactic, it's beautifully rendered, it's backed by an outstanding soundtrack, and it's somehow both emotionally rewarding AND funny in a way that's hard to describe.

The music FUCKS throughout the whole series, the animation is gorgeous, stylistic, and fluid... and the dub (don't come at me with "subs are better," I have a hard time watching shows not in English unless I can devote my whole attention to it, and it's harder for me to read tone) is actually really good, in my opinion.

Go watch one punch man. It's SO much fun. I don't use this phrase lightly, because it implies the concept is bad, but honestly? One Punch Man gives off the vibes of "This has no right to be as good as it is," probably because I started with the webcomic, and didn't read the manga between the webcomic and the anime. (though I went back to the manga and enjoyed it too.)

Analyzing Invention: Jan-Aug 2024

We are now two-thirds through 2024. Each week, a new challenge has appeared as part of the Inventor's Fair, a Magic: the Gathering card design contest blog here on Tumblr.

For the uninitiated, each week, a design challenge is announced on the blog and members of the community create cards meeting the design specifications. At the end of the week, a few winners and runner-ups are selected from the submission.

So let's take a look at some of the trends so far this year - January through August.

The Contests

Through August, there have been 33 contests: 11 being led by @abelzumi, 10 being led by @spooky-bard, and the rest led by an assortment of judges (Note: there were 6 contest in which the judge didn't identify themselves).

Throughout these 33 contests, there have been 723 entries, spread over 110 unique participants. Of those participants, there have been 17 who have submitted at least 17 submissions (50+% participation). A special shout-out to @nine-effing-hells for their 33 submissions.

On average, there have been 22 participants per contest, with the highest being Common Wonders (30 participants) and the lowest being a tie between My Better Half, War Never* Changes and Spoiled for Choice (16 participants).

The Submissions

As previously mentioned, there have been 723 unique entries (some of which had multiple designs, such as all the ones submitted for My Better Half).

In previous evaluations, we looked at all sorts of data: such as card types, mana value, and rarities. While prepping for this iteration, I asked what folks would like to see. The request: let's see some color breakdowns. So let's deep-dive!

Starting off, let's look at general color identities. If they are at least partial in the color, they'll be included here. In order:

Black: 232

Blue: 224

Red: 215

White: 211

Green: 156

Most of the colors are pretty close in the number of entries, except poor ol' green. This is the same from what we saw in the January-April update as well. (The order then was almost the exact same, with just blue and black swapping places).

The pattern is similar when we look at solely mono color entries, with Blue and Red swapping places:

Red: 87

Blue: 83

White: 80

Now let's dip into a well we haven't before: multi-color entries!

Based on our general color tendencies, you might think Dimir (blue-black) OR Rakdos (black-red) would be in the top spot. And while they do make a good showing (at #2 and #4 respectively), the top spot might surprise you:

Unsurprisingly, all 4 green guilds were lowest on the list. I was surprised that Golgari was lowest though, with the general black designs being the most prominent.

For three colors, most of the 10 options are fairly close, between 3 and 5 entries each. The slight stand-out was Abzan (W B G) with 6. There has been only a single 4-color design, Atraxa's Command designed by @khyrberos (g w u b), and four 5-color designs.

There have also been 35 colorless cards designed. I'll give a note here on lands - since we are looking a color identity and not mana cost, many lands are in a color bucket, not just here in colorless land.

Well, that about sums things up for this time around. It's always cool to see everyone's submissions each week as part of the @inventors-fair! Y'all are awesome, and I can't wait to see what designs you come up with through the end of the year. And maybe, just maybe, think about adding some green :).

@t0yearnf0r made me discover Patroklos’ sister, through my little research I found out about Achilles’.

Polydora (Achilles’ sister) do is mentioned in one passing line during the iliad (which I can’t believe I forgot) but it’s have been up for debate. The line is

Some say she’s the daughter of another Peleus, that’s she’s a bastard child and she’s just never mentioned because her birth is shameful, or that Achilles never mentions her because she’s dead.

What’s more confusing, she has different possible mothers regarding who you ask (she might be a child of Peleus, but certainly not of Thetis). Some say her mother was Antigone (not our tragic girl Antigone, but Antigone, supposed wife of Peleus and daughter of Eurytion).

She must have been a bit older than Achilles since by all accounts Peleus fathered her before (1) the Kalydonian Boar Hunt, (2) the sacking of Iolkos and (3) the Voyage of the Argo. She would likely have been raised in a separate household from Achilles and married off before he went to study with the centaur Chiron!

Background Scar is a hilarious fellow from a far land known for his Hermits skilled in constructing magnificent structures and machineries that defies logic and reason. Despite being dyslexic, he is always in good mood and shares this good mood with the other Hermits. But a mechanical arm reached form him, stabilizing his posture. A tall scrawny construct dressed like a butler with a jar for a head with fake mustaches helped him stand as other strange servants arrived… another large sized construct similar to a spider with a housing for his wheelchair and 12 small round brightly colored humanoids in outrageously colored attire. As soon as Scar regained his composure, they bowed to him in revered silence. “Your mission is simple… find the fragments of my lost daughter. Do it, and you shall receive gifts beyond your imagination. I will be watching.” Said the voice; Scar looked at the broken glass of the mansion and said: “Alrighty, first, let’s fix this place! We have work to do!” And he pulled up his wrists with a wide smile.

Chapter 5: The Queen Mother

By the time Aemond arrived back in Kings Landing the sun had just barely begun to break. The stars and moon are still clearly visible, the air cool and breezy. Your sleeping form leaning on him for support, Aemond maneuvered you off of Vhagar making sure you didn’t fall or hit your head on anything.

Aemond adjusted you so he was carrying you Bridal style, you were a surprisingly heavy sleeper, sleeping through the rest of the flight and the rest of the way through to the entrance of the keep.

The first person of importance to greet Aemond was his mother, she must’ve been woken up by the sound of Vhagar as she was still in her night clothes. She was basically sprinting to Aemond, noticing your form bundled in his arms, head snuggly pressing to his chest.

“Aemond! What happened? Is she alright?!”

Alicent reached out and touched your head brushing stray hairs out of the way to glance for injuries.

“Relax mother, she was just exhausted, I’ll lay her down in my chambers.” Aemond picked up his pace having come down from his adrenaline rush and coming to reality of what he’d done.

“Then I trust everything is settled in the north? What about Storm’s end? Aemond? Aemond!”

Alicent chased after her son, his strides out pacing hers but she only ran faster to the boy. She quickly went from joyed for her son's return to dread weighing her heart down. Aemonds silence only told her the worst had happened.

“Lord Boros has declared for Aegon with the promise of Daeron marrying one of his daughters.”

Aemond stated plainly, wanting to at least lay you down first before informing his mother of his sins.

“And Lord Cregan has done so as well? He’s declared for Aegon for you marrying Y/N correct? That’s why you have her? Because we have the support of the North? Aemond don’t you dare walk away from me!”

Aemond remained quiet, only continuing to carry your body up through the keep. Finally reaching his chambers, guards opened the doors swiftly for the young Prince and allowed the Queen Mother to enter as well, closing the doors behind her.

If this were any other situation, she would’ve scolded Aemond for trying to put you in his own chambers, as you were unmarried.

He placed you down onto his bed, softly and carefully stripping your heavy coat and boots, tossing them carelessly to the side. Aemond covered your form with a blanket off to the side and he stood straight and turned to his mother who stood there speechless and waiting terrified for an answer.

“Lucerys and Jacaerys are dead.”

You shifted and turned in your bed, your room feeling much warmer than it should be. Still too groggy and tired to open your eyes you groaned and shifted hoping to find a cooler spot.

You had the most peculiar dream ever, Aemond was there, oh he felt so real… then he killed Jacaerys… all for you, that was the part that had tilted the whole thing on its head.

The mattress weighed down behind you and you felt a presence behind you. Snow and Smoke were allowed on the bed so you didn’t think much of it, however they preferred the cold stone floor on their heavy fur.

“Wake up my sleepy girl, you’ve missed lunch already.” A deep familiar voice hummed behind you, pressing kisses to the back of your neck and caressing your shoulders. Your eyes snapped open and your whole body jolted up to meet an all too familiar one eyed face. Your heart felt as though it was going to explode, that dream, it wasn’t a dream. It was real, this was your reality now.

You weren’t in Winterfell anymore, you were in King’s Landing in what you remember to be Aemonds chambers. As children you’d sneak into Aemonds room to be alone, of course you weren’t allowed to be alone in his room as boy and girl so you had to take the secret passages.

“Aemond- I- so it wasn’t a dream?”

“Do you normally have dreams like that?”

Not turned away by your sudden freak out, purred into your neck. Referring to your more intimate moment, not seeming to care about the event that had occurred right before that.

“Does that mean, is Jacaerys-“

“Did you care for the bastard that much? Bringing him up while I’m right here?” Aemond said rhetorically his movements became more aggressive, he nipped at a sensitive part of your neck that you didn’t know you had making you yelp.

“I sent for an array of accommodations not too long ago, so we have a little spare time to ourselves. You’ll be a very busy woman soon enough, I’ll have to make up for lost time now.”

Aemond softly caressed your clothed body, he truly didn’t want to give you time to have a coherent thought with all this attention. You moved away from him slightly needing a moment to catch your breath and get his thoughts out.

“Aem please. What about my brother? Cregan isn’t going to just let me go, the north- mmph…”

Aemond didn’t let up his siege on your neck, pinning your hips down to the mattress to prevent you from trying to squirm away from him in sensitivity. Why wasn’t he taking this more seriously like he didn’t, in the eyes of everyone else, kidnap a Lady of a great house.

“Shh. Soon you’ll have my child heavy in your womb and the lords will have no other option but to surrender if they wish for House Stark to continue on. Cregan has been married for how long? With no heir? Won’t be hard to convince them… I’ll keep you tied with your legs up if I damn have to, my sweet.”

Aemond rambled on for quite some time as he caressed and stroked your body. If he had any less of a mind he’d strip you bare and let the entire keep hear you as he made it known that the north would have an heir soon. However, he loved you too much for that, he wanted it to be perfect because that’s what you deserved as his soon-to-be Lady Wife, he’d wait moons just for your wedding night. Though he’d rather not

He would’ve attempted to go further if he was not cruelly interrupted by the same things he had sent for. Maids with a metal bathtub and fresh clothes, along with some fresh fruits.

Aemond pulled you up from his cushioned bed, handing you over to the maids to get you ready for whatever he had planned for the rest of your day.

“I’ll come back for you when you’re ready, love.”

Pressing a kiss to the crown of your head and he left you to the maids.

“My Lady? Do you need help taking your clothes off?”

The air smelt sweet and warm, finally allowing yourself to relax in the warm water. Muscles relaxing and untightening, the maids washing your hair out with soap and oils. They left you to soak in the warm water for a little longer.

After a few minutes of being alone in peace a quiet ladylike knock came and right after the floor opened slightly and Lady Alicent maneuvered her way through the small crack to let herself in without allowing the chance of anyone to see you in such a vulnerable state.

Alicents appearance surprised and shocked you, it seems she knew you were in the bath by how she entered. You wondered what must’ve been so important that she needed to see you now.

“Queen Alicent! I wasn’t aware you were coming, if I was I wouldn’t have been in the bath for so long-“

“Shh sweet girl, we are both ladies here.”

Alicent pulled up one of the wooden chairs by the fireplace up to the side of your tub. She placed her slender hand on your shoulder, rubbing her thumb back and forth on your damp skin.

“I wanted to talk to you without Aemond over your shoulder. I’m surprised he left you to bathe alone.”

“I don’t believe I understand?”

“Why are you here? Surely you didn’t come to King's Landing with no wants or desires? Tell me.”

Alicents words made you nervous. Did she think you had ulterior motives? That your purpose was malicious? The way she rubbed your arm made you feel trapped, afraid. You were naked and small and she was clothed in expensive materials and sat above you. You may have been a lady of a great house but she was the Queen, now Queen Mother.

You were far too intimidated to start thinking of lies.

“My Lady, I shall be fully honest with you, as you are a mother yourself. Cregan is…he’s sterile, he cannot have any children of his own. As he doesn’t want to be remembered as incompetent, he is going to force me to give up my children and pass them off as his own. I could not watch that happen, and I know Aemond wouldn’t allow it to happen. Please my Lady you have to believe me, I love Aemond more than anything and when he gave me the opportunity to-“

Alicent softened her gaze and pushed her thumb over your lips to tell you to silence yourself. It was the full truth, truly. A small sincere smile creeped onto her face, she cupped your cheek softly like you were a small animal wiping the few stray tears that fell down your face during your ramble.

“It’s okay now, Cregan can’t and won’t be able to get to you any longer. Men are cruel and selfish beings, I understand that more than most. You’re lucky to have Aemond.”

Her words felt sincere and real, you felt like a weight had been lifted off you. Being able to finally say it out loud made it real and someone believed you. You had never told Aemond of the full details of this, not sure what he would have done if he knew these details.

“I’m extremely glad to have you here as a permanent member, it becomes… lonely being surrounded by Valerian faces at all times.”

“Thank you my Lady, I hope I can live up to your image of me…”

You both soaked in this softer moment, forgetting about your lack of decency at the moment. A knock breaking the silence, the maids have come back to get you dressed and ready. Immediately noticing Alicent and making a small panic out of it.

“Oh! My Lady Alicent! If we were aware you were visiting we would have had the Lady Y/N dressed! Apologies.”

“No no, I had taken an unplanned detour before the council meeting. I should be headed there right about now, I must take my leave now. I look forward to having dinner with you tonight sweet girl.”

Alicent rubbed your shoulder one last time before making her exit. The interaction had put you at ease, but at the same time you couldn’t help but feel something off in the air that made your stomach feel wrong. You couldn’t put your finger on what exactly.

You must enjoy the short peace you receive before you start going places you shouldn’t go.

The maids dressed and clothed you, you weren’t sure whose dress this was. It was a Targaryen red, off the shoulder with long droopy sleeves and a deep V cut, with lots of gold accents and a black and gold cape that chained itself around your neck to keep it in place.

“Lady Alicent had sent this for you to borrow for the outfit my Lady.”

One of the older maids, one that could be trusted to hold such priceless jewelry, held it out in its box to show the piece to you before putting it into place. It was a beautiful golden necklace with an assortment of rubies mingled into the dangling gold pieces. Your hair had been done up and braided, what you would expect for your first dinner of this kind, presenting yourself as an ally.

The door had opened without a knock presenting your love, Aemond, to the room. He definitely took your state in, scanning the tight and low fabrics around your form. You definitely don’t make this waiting thing easy for him.

“You look immaculate, my love, if we were alone I would’ve tore that off of you and taken you as you were, shall we?”

Aemond kissed your check, moving his head to caress your earlobe and whispering depravity into your mind, then as if nothing happened he held his arm for you to take which you did swiftly. Your face dusted red at his lack of filter and lots of promises.

He guides your steps down the winding halls of the keep. It had been years at this point since you’d been here last, some sense of familiarity sticking with you. You held onto Aemond closely subconsciously, it has been so long you just want to be as close as possible to him.

He could protect you from anything but not if you were away from him.
