Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreons for July! Fourth Wing (by @rebeccayarros) making a quick reappearance as we reset our author list for Sketch-a-Wish! This time featuring a sparring scene between Violet and Xaden as the former snatches daggers away from the latter. This was such an odd perspective angle to tackle, I was chastising Past-Rosie for considering this a good idea throughout the entire process. But we got to the end! This piece is licensed and available as a print preorder in my shop via my bio link. ✨🧡

“Fascinating. You look all frail and breakable, but you’re really a violent little thing, aren’t you?”

I keep seeing all these DainXSloane posts and I'm just like "that is a lesbian"
Am I the only one who thought that she was developing feelings for Violet not Dain???

I know I'm "behind" but I just finished reading Fourth Wing and I honestly loved it 🙏🏻
It made me feel every single emotion possible and I'm not sure if I want to continue and read Iron Flame or wait until all the books are out and binge read them
I'm usually a binge reader, idk why but I thought there was only going to be two books but apparently there's going to be FIVE!?
I don't know what to do you guys 🙈

I spent months hearing about this book and thinking it cannot live up to the hype, and man was I wrong. This book is so well written. The story is so engaging from the first page.
Yeah, yeah, the typical bad boy heartthrob, saw that coming from a mile away, but he's so much more than he seems to be when it starts. And Violet and Xaden together are something special.
That ending though.... Hell yeah! For some reason, that didn't even cross my mind (and I spend too much time if the "what if" game).
I cannot wait to go get Iron Flame tomorrow.

Text post about Onyx Storm.
If you need a spoiler warning, here it is.
I need to talk about something that's been eating away at me since I finished this damn book. There are only ever 4 gods mentioned. They are worshipped. They have powers. The continents (and islands) are named after them.
Zihnal for Luck.
Dunne for War.
Amari for Wisdom.
And Malak, Lord of Death.
4. That's it. No more gods. None. This is insane world building behavior. I need to talk about how much this takes me out of the books as I read them. You cannot form a society of beings that have evolved slowly over time by only having gods that are constructions of humanoid concepts.
Every other society that has formed any amount of deity worship has gods of the things that give them life or are beneficial to them or are forces to be feared. How can you have any kind of pantheon where your God shows up and always your big bad villain because she is spiteful and the rest of this measly pantheon not have had some kind of previous influence.
Luck, war, and Wisdom don't exist without an already built society.
Where is the water god, the sun god, the food god?
Where is the mention of spirits of the earth? The lifeblood of the planet?
The Olmec cultivated and traded maize on such a level that it was in their origin tales. The Jewish people speak of the divine being that molded the planets and stars and separated light from darkness. The Hindu people speak of growing from the lotus the flowers of the planet. The Native americans have stories of animal brothers who we came from, are, and return to.
You can't start with war, luck, and wisdom.
Where are these peoples religious nature.
How can the warring nation of Dunne have war before hunger?
How in Amari's there be wisdom without observation or growth?
It's so obviously an afterthought she is attempting to flush this world out with nothing that I'm almost embarrassed for her. That the entire part of the book about the islands is just a Saturday morning cartoon of fighting a new villain each week because there is no real backbone to show.
I know that's not the point of the sexy dragon books but holy shit how did her editor not tell her to rip out the island part is beyond me. Then she uses the Lady of war as a deus ex machina for the bad guy. I would have changed all that.
If it's a romance... Let them fuck the bad guy to death. Let them have sex on the back of dragons to stop evil. It would have been less painful.

Hey so I wanted opinions on a theory I came up with involving the stolen eggs.
Now, I know the common theory is that Garrick took them for trading, but that means his own dragon was willing sacrifice the lives of baby dragons into areas of no magic. This could be detrimental to the babies.
So my theory? The irids took one egg of each color of dragon in order to protect the future of dragonkind in case the venin win. We know they don't approve of what the Empryean is doing. We also know they could easily slip in with their invisibility and they have the ability to control magic outside of current known rules. They could have slipped in and took the eggs while everyone was dealing with the current big battle. Taken the eggs to where the irids live and give them safety where magic still survives and teach these new dragons their ways.
I have no evidence, this is just a theory and I would love to hear opinions :]

This may be a fairly niche overlap but when I read 4th wing I couldn't help but picture General Sorengail as Brennan Lee mulligan
Something about a Red Head soldier mother just screams Brennan to me. I feel like his portrayal of the wizard Steal in WBN just confirms that.

Man didn't want lore on the qsmp either, you gotta remember Phil needs to be dragged kicking and screaming into lore. If the keepers are adamant he must pick a faction then they are gonna have to force one on him, man simply will not choose.
