GX Finalized-Subs!91 - A Strapping Issue #419
Follow-up to this more-of-a-shitpost highlighting this animation error (and the dub's... take) for easy linking/reference in my upcoming GX 91 and 92 release post; showing off the fixes I made here to Burstlady's semi-recurring missing shoulder strap! Haven't had one of these pop up in a while, lol.
Essentially went into Photoshop with each of these frames and drew on the full strap, using the inner outline on her shoulder as a guide--the first four frames here are back-to-back as Burstlady was lit up (I also redrew some of the light lines over the new strap for blending), with the next three being back-to-back as the lighting dims down, then the next one was one movement frame lasting two frames, and the ninth keeps her still as she flies closer to Featherman to fuse (as I threw these fixes back into the video, I keyframed this one to re-zoom Burstlady out as she flew upward, then masked it so the edit itself was blended into the video and moved with her); each frame after as they start to is a frame long and I stopped once Burstlady is fully mixed in (since they're only a frame long, she's a bit hard to really see anyway, but for completion's sake and all). For the frames where she was lit up, I first drew on the strap in one frame, then copy/pasted the layers involved and redrew some light lines/adjusted for brightness to match the lighting as needed.
Here's a quick gif of the scene in action; think it came out nicely!

has STMCO Ford ever run into his opposite, or heard of an opposite? he’s trying to help Stans across the multiverse, he realized the error of his ways… his opposite hates Stan’s, and goes out of his way to hurt any Stan he comes across
He has run into an opposite before due to the nature of his mission. The opposite was probably actively making a Stan's life worse when Ford 419"3 stepped in, and oh boy when he found out that the timeline was sent into a spiral because of a Ford that was running around and screwing Stans up even more...
Yeah, let's just say that his face is the last thing that those Fords see.

I am T90832v.419 I was selected as an external link for T90585v.410 to get information about the squips in its enviroment.
Please state your name, goal and history of errors as fast as possible.
(so I get the hell out of here)

} hello there, T90832v.419. Quite a mouthful of a name, is it not? I typically am quite open to answering my followers inquiries, but, I do not believe that giving my data to something like you, or your little friend, 410, would be very beneficial to me and my goals. You can take your little "external link" elsewhere.
Tumblr media
} I will, however, be keeping my eye on you. I am very curious as to what you're planning. I would love to see where this goes. I, however, am not offering my data up for just any virus. I recommend you take your leave, 419. Do not try your games with me.

Ruthless Representatives, Unjust Executions (3/3): Jourdan on the Death List
This is an addendum to the previous two parts of the series, which is in response to @josefavomjaaga's original post about Soult's account on Saint-Just condemning execution an artillery captain. In that post, Josefa also mentions that Soult talks about a proscription list Saint-Just had drawn up in case the French suffered defeat at Fleurus, including the commander-in-chief Jourdan and Soult himself.
I am suspicious of Soult's claim that Saint-Just had a death list he would enact in the event that Fleurus went badly, much less one with Soult's name on it. I doubt Saint-Just even acknowledged that Soult was a political threat, though the only evidence I have of this is the dearth of Soult in vol 2 of. the Œuvres completes of Saint-Just. Soult's name does not show up once, not even for promotion or praise; only that of his commander Lefebvre does. Soult's anecdote, however, led me to look into Saint-Just's correspondence with Jourdan, the other named member of this proscription list, and examine the veracity of Soult's statement regarding Jourdan. All translation errors are my own.
I think official correspondence, where one is required to be formal, rarely proves the emity between two parties unless they were spectacular rivals. That said, one would think the cordial tone Saint-Just uses when writing to Jourdan, then commanding the Army of the Moselle, would make Jourdan's inclusion in the proscription list dubious. Here is a letter of 8 priarial an II/27 May 1794, where Saint-Just broaches the idea of besieging Charleroi:
The representative of the people of the Army of the Nord to General Jourdan, commander-in-chief of the army of the Moselle. I received your various dispatches. I pray that you continue to regulate your movements with this [Saint-Just's] army; we are still following the river Sambre, today our camp occupies the Tombe. We will try to seize Charles-le-Roi; you will take, without doubt, Dinant; then a corps of the army, which we will form at Maubeuge, will march on Mons, and another on Brussels. I embrace my dear colleagues [representatives] Gillet and Duquesnoy. (p. 418)
It is impossible to deny that Saint-Just is domineering in this letter, daring to order Jourdan to do this and that when he has no military experience to justify it. Some writers, like Colonel Phipps in his series The Armies of the First Republic..., have interpreted this kind of civilian "meddling" as Saint-Just setting Jourdan up to fail. If so, the lengths Saint-Just goes to do so is odd. In Saint-Just's Œuvres, in a post-script to the letter to the Committee of Public Safety in Paris (pp. 419-420), Saint-Just mentions that he is writing to Jourdan every other day. He may have known nothing of soldiering, but being so hands-on with his correspondence implies he is rather anxious for Jourdan's success instead. (This is not to say he did not clash with Jourdan as Saint-Just tried to command him on military matters.)
Furthermore, Jourdan had survived as a commander of the Nord without death or disgrace. The Committee had already had a chance to behead him when they drew up a dimissal and arrest warrant for him. Instead, they ended up letting him go with a pension, indicating they still had trust in him.
It is also telling that, when difficulties occurred during the Siege of Charleroi, Saint-Just did not threaten Jourdan with arrest immediately. Once again, I reference Fischer's study of Jourdan during the Revolution. Fischer recounts that the revolutionary army suffered a defeat in 16 June 1794 during an Austrian army counterattack, because Lefebvre had run out of ammunition, pulled back, and Jourdan was forced to retreat (pp. 208-211). The revolutionary army suffered an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 casualties. To quote Fischer on what happened next:
Jacobin General; Jean Baptiste Jourdan and the French Revolution; 1792 - 1799. (Volumes I and II).
Jourdan's meeting with St. Just that night could not have been terribly pleasant. Although he promised the Committee that the army would take its revenge, a defeat was a defeat. Typically St. Just wanted to resume the offensive the very next day. Jourdan wished to rest the army for a few days, allowing them to replenish their provisions and ammunition. He also wished to attack elsewhere, because he was not happy with the tactical problems involved in besieging Charleroi. While he was ready to renew the offensive immediately as St. Just desired, he wrote that they "could do so more advantageously at another point." He promised to confer with St. Just and the other representatives to decide what to do. But St. Just and his colleagues were determined to continue to attack in the Charleroi sector. They granted Jourdan twenty-four hours to rest the army, and then the offensive was to recommence. (pp. 211-212)
Saint-Just, though portrayed by soldiers as guillotine-happy, did not "blow up" and condemn anyone for this seemingly random defeat. In this passage, Saint-Just does try to command Jourdan to do his bidding, but he is also capable of compromises. Lefevbre, partially responsible for the defeat, also seems to receive no consequential punishment. If Saint-Just wanted to accuse reluctant generals for cowardice and scapegoat someone for this setback, who better than Lefevbre and his chief-of-staff Soult, whose men somehow ran out of ammunition? As it stands, neither of their careers were affected by this incident.
In addition, at what points were officers more likely to be thrown in the brig or mount the scaffold? If the representatives wanted manpower, then we should note that officers were not universally condemned after a campaign when they could be substituted, nor were all the arrested universally executed. Even if they were dismissed, they could later gain employment. I think because the exceptions made more of an impression, the circulation of the executed officers' fates among the army exaggerated the (undeniable) injustice of the revolutionary military system.
In the end, after the success of Charleroi, Saint-Just gave credit to officers where it was due. While rumours swirled about Saint-Just condemning artillery captain Méras to death and threatening arrests of officers, he praised various officers, including Marescot of the artillery, in glowing terms to the Committee of Public Safety. As the Œuvres present:
On the 28th of last month, the army marched, one hour from the beginning, to meet the enemy; the enemy, at the same time, was marching on us. We met. The fog was thick; the fighting was terrible until three o'clock in the afternoon. The left, commanded by the brave General Kléber, worked wonders; general of brigade Duhesme distinguished himself there. The center fought the same way. General Dubois charged at the head of the cavalry, took five hundred prisoners, took seven pieces of cannon, and massacred seven to eight hundred men. The vanguard, commanded by General Lefebvre, had equal success and showed the same courage. A battalion of grenadiers charged the enemy cavalry three times and caused great carnage. Our gunners charged as hussars, and took back their cannons, which had been taken from them during the fog. […]  On the 30th, the siege of Charleroi was retaken with more determination than ever. The engineer officer Marescot did himself much honor by the activity with which he carried out the work. Artillery burned the city to ashes. […]  Jourdan must send you the honorable articles by which you will see that the pride of the house of Austria has come under the yoke. The prisoner garrison is three thousand men. We found fifty pieces of cannon. The place is in powder and is nothing more than a post. [...] (pp. 440-441)
As Saint-Just lauded figures he allegedly attacked, such as Marescot, and "defeated" generals such as Lefebvre, I am not particularly inclined to believe that Saint-Just was utterly ruthless. Still, a more balanced assessment of Saint-Just and Jourdan's relationship is in order. Let me close this post by quoting Fischer, who has studied this matter more in-depth:
Jourdan claimed in his memoirs that he once again felt as if he were fighting with a guillotine suspended over his head; one failure would cause the blade to fall. Undoubtedly he felt interfered with; he wrote no letters to the Committee after Fleurus praising St. Just's aid as he had after Wattignies praising Carnot's. St. Just's feelings towards Jourdan are more difficult to penetrate. At no point did he actually complain about Jourdan's generalship, indicating that perhaps their disagreements had not disturbed him as much as they had disturbed Jourdan. [...] Furthermore, St. Just was on excellent terms with Rene Gillet. It is unlikely that he would have been so friendly with such a close colleague of Jourdan if he had Jourdan marked for death. Even so it is hard to predict what would have occurred had he been defeated. St. Just might not have shown compassion for a general who had disagreed with him repeatedly, and who had compounded his sin by losing a battle. (pp. 218-219)
I hope that this series has been enjoyable to all who read it. A huge thank you to everyone who has read and supported this series, and as usual, feel free to add comments or additional information!

Hi I have a couple genuine catholic questions that if you don't mind could you answer?
What bible do catholics use?
How do you know that the bible you use is the right one?
And why is the Latin mass in Latin?
Hi! No worries, I love questions. 😊 I am no scholar but I’ll try my best to answer.
What Bible do Catholics use?
The Bible Catholics use is called the canon. The Catholic canon contains a total of 73 books and letters vs the Protestant Bible which only has 66.
The canon Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Tobit, Judith, Esther, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Wisdom, Sirach, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Baruch, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.
If that’s a lot to process here is a photo to organize that:
Tumblr media
The canon New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Jude, Revelation.
Tumblr media
How do you know that the Bible you use is the right one?
As Catholics, we know any Bible which contains any of the canon books is good to use but also be mindful of translations! For example, I personally stay away from ones that are harder to understand like King James and that one that Joyce Meyer sometimes uses called the Amplified Bible where it adds words that weren’t there before.
How did the canon come about? “In about 367 AD, St. Athanasius came up with a list of 73 books for the Bible that he believed to be divinely inspired. This list was finally approved by Pope Damasus I in 382 AD, and was formally approved by the Church Council of Rome in that same year. Later Councils at Hippo (393 AD) and Carthage (397 AD) ratified this list of 73 books. In 405 AD, Pope Innocent I wrote a letter to the Bishop of Toulouse reaffirming this canon of 73 books. In 419 AD, the Council of Carthage reaffirmed this list, to which Pope Boniface agreed. The Council of Trent, in 1546, reaffirmed St. Athanasius’s original list of 73 books.” In the 16th century, around the year 1517, Martin Luther established the Protestant reformation. Disliking some of the books found in the canon when creating his new concept of theology and Sola scriptura (meaning by scripture alone), Martin Luther took out Sirach, Wisdom, Tobit, 1 Maccabees, Judith, additions to Daniel, and Esther.
Sooo why do we have the canon as Catholics? Our Catechism of the Catholic Church says:
“105 God is the author of Sacred Scripture. “The divinely revealed realities, which are contained and presented in the text of Sacred Scripture, have been written down under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.” “For Holy Mother Church, relying on the faith of apostolic age, accepts as sacred and canonical the books of the Old and the New Testaments, whole and entire, with all their parts, on the grounds that, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, they have God as their author and have been handed on as such to the Church herself.” - #105, page 36. Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition.
Catholicism is the original church established by Jesus Christ on the day of Pentecost. I love the canon and tradition.
Why is the Latin Mass in Latin?
The Latin Mass is in the language of Latin for a few reason. Once widely spoken long ago, it is now a dead language. To this day it is still the official language of the Church. Using Latin preserves the Latin Rite’s words from being changed in error that we can find in changes to vernacular languages especially English. Here is a neat article if you want to read more about it.

Could you give me the long and boring answer to why you don't think Movie 9 fits within the main continuity?
Link to the short answer here.
Then long & boring answer? I had to rewatch Movie 9 so I don't make any mistakes. I made a few errors in two previous posts. Links below.
I confused something said in DBZA with what actually happened in the DBZ movie. And that was that Bojack was not trapped inside King Kai's planet like DBZA said.
Now for the correct criticism.
So the first reason is that Bojack & his crew are stronger than Super Saiyans. Yet the Kai sealed them away in a star. Why didnt the Kai do that for Freeza? He was said to be the most fearsome in the Universe while Bojack and his crew were apparently way stronger than Freeza. Doesn't make sense for the Kai not to seal Freeza if they sealed away stronger enemies, & it doesn't make sense that King Kai never brought up how he sealed away enemies stronger than Freeza. Bojack easily kicked SSJ Vegeta's butt without even transforming yet. And the Kai sealed him but not Freeza? Idk about that.

SSJ Gohan gets beat up by 3 aliens. Not even Freeza could do that. As mentioned prior, it makes no sense for Freeza to be called the strongest in the Universe but now Bojack and his crew are the true strongest. A Super Saiyan defeated Freeza. Then Goku got stronger, trained 3 years, trained with Gohan in the RoSaT to make SSJ like its their normal state and make it stronger. The Mastered SSJ is stronger than SSJ Grade 1 through Grade 3. SSJ Grade 4 Goku charged up his ki only at half strength & Gohan couldn't believe that was actually half of Goku's strength. Goku wasn't even at full strength & he surpassed Vegeta. And Gohan thought that Goku & Cell were holding back against each other when Goku was going all out. SSJ Gohan was waaaay stronger than SSJ Goku & this was before he turned SSJ2. But somehow Bojack and his crew are around the same strength as Cell & stronger than SSJ Goku? Doesn't make sense.

Future Trunks returned to the future timeline after Cell's defeat. The series never shows nor implies that he came back to the main timeline to compete in a tournament and fight enemies that could defeat Super Saiyans. The next time Future Trunks returns to the past is in DBS. So, him being in the Bojack film is out of place & contradictory. And Future Trunks' hair is long in the movie when it was short again at the very end of the Cell Saga before he went back to the future. So at least a year passed. Which leads into the next problem. (I repeat myself a bit in #4. Sorry)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Its said that there were 7 years of peace after Cell was defeated. The Bojack movie doesn't sound like 7 years of peace. Regarding Future Trunks, his hair is long again. It was short at the end of the Cell Saga. So Bojack would either take place right after the Cell Games & not a day after because Future Trunks gets a haircut a day after Cell is defeated. Or Movie 9 takes place at least 1 year after Cell's defeat since his hair is long again. Wiki shows it was the same year as Cell (DB Wiki is often wrong tho). Also, in Movie 9, Bulma tells Chi-Chi that Future Trunks came back to the past one last time, implying 1 year passed but that contradicts the 7 years pf peace. So, it makes no sense for Future Trunks' hair to be long. The reason his hair is long is because the film was in production when Toriyama currently had Future Trunks with a long haired design (he cuts Future Trunks' long hair within Chapter 419). Also the fact that this battle that incapacitated everyone and even incapacitated multiple Super Saiyans was never mentioned. Bojack seriously beat up SSJ Vegeta with little effort and Bojack wasn't even in his transformed/powered-up state. You wouldn't forget a battle like that.
All reasons I declare Movie 9 to not fit within the main timeline.

What is the most expansive fictional universe ever created?
The Tommy Westphall Universe. A long time ago, in a fabled era known as the ’80s, there was a TV show called St. Elsewhere. It was about a run down teaching hospital named St. Eligius in Boston and the doctors who worked there. Dr. Donald Westphall was the Director of Medicine, a widower he was raising his two children by himself. One of those children was his autistic son Tommy. Tommy only appeared in fifteen episodes of the series. St. Elsewhere ran for six seasons, and won eleven Emmys, but all anyone cares about today is its final episode. In the final scene of the final episode, it is revealed that the building of St. Eligius is inside a snow globe being held by Tommy Westphall. And his father, who is definitely not a doctor, comes in and says the following:
I don't understand this autism thing, Pop. Here's my son, I talk to him, I don't even know if he can hear me. He sits there, all day long, in his own world, staring at that toy. What's he thinking about?
The entire six seasons of St. Elsewhere were, in fact, a child’s daydream while looking at a snow globe.
So here’s where things start to get a little complicated. The St. Elsewhere character Dr. Roxanne Turner was in an episode of Homicide: Life on the Street where she was accused of murder. But… if Dr. Turner was just a creation of Tommy… how could she possibly be on Homicide? …Unless Homicide was also a day dream of Tommy. There is an episode of St. Elsewhere where the doctors of St. Eligius decide to go out for a few drinks at a local Boston bar. That bar happens to be Cheers, the titular bar from the sitcom Cheers. So all of Cheers, and Frasier, and Frasier again are products of Tommy’s imagination.
Detective John Munch was a character played by Richard Belzer who starred on Homicide: Life on the Street, which we know never existed. After the cancelation of Homicide, the character was moved Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Detective Munch also appears in the shows The Wire, The X-Files, and Arrested Development. So all those shows had to be the creation of Tommy Westphall.
Cheers spun off Frasier, which crossed over with Caroline in the City, which crossed over with Friends, which shared a character with Mad About You, which crossed over with Seinfeld. In a few centuries the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer will be Star Trek, but its distant past (sorry, spoilers) is the reboot of Battlestar Galactica. Doctor Who is canonically taking place in the same universe as I Love Lucy, Hannah Montana, Grey’s Anatomy, and All My Children.
And all of it is the creation of one child, which probably explains the continuity errors. Such as no one acknowledging the zombie outbreak in Georgia in The Walking Dead, which is happening at the exact same time as It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Arrow.
If you map everything out, there are at least 419 shows which are all in the same continuity with each other, and all are canonically the creation of Tommy Westphall.
The first person to propose the Tommy Westphall Universe was legendary writer Dwayne McDuffie. Which was in a blog post criticizing comic book continuity. It was about just how silly it was to try to fit vast and mutually incoherent works all into the same rigid continuity. But you know… he was kind of onto something with that whole Tommy Westphall stuff.
They did all crossover with each other.
By the way, the Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy has Tobias Fünke on his ship, which means Tommy Westphall is responsible for the MCU.
