V The Ghost in the Manor
Dick Grayson V Gotham - Chapter 4
Danny was not lost. He was… momentarily disposed.
It certainly wasn’t his fault. All the halls looked the same, with walls covered in paintings and a red runner down each hallway. At least he knew he was on the second floor–peeking out a window showed a garden that he did not see from the entrance, so maybe he was in the back of the house?
Reasonably, he could probably yell for help. He’d only run off ten minutes ago, and there had to be someone around to hear him. Even if it was only the ghost.
But considering he’d been tracking the ghost with no sign of them yet, he didn’t think that likely.
He wasn’t sure about it at first. There’d been no trace of a haunting when he arrived, but the sensation of a ghost–a tickle in the back of his throat, like a cough that refused to come–got stronger and stronger as breakfast concluded. It wasn’t attached to the building. Even as weak as Danny was, he’d still be able to sense a proper haunt, so that meant there was a free-roaming spirit loose in the building. And it felt a lot stronger than a Shade.
Danny cracked open a door to see another library. In his search, he’d moved past the bedroom area and onto the business-related rooms. There had been multiple libraries, and earlier he’d found a room with multiple computer monitors on desks covered in snack residue; Tim’s room, he presumed, and didn’t touch it. But as he looked further into the manor, the stronger the ghost felt. He was getting close.
He wished they’d just show themselves. He wanted to go back to working on Tim’s case.
At the end of the hallway he found a grand study. Danny wrinkled his nose. All dark hardwood and beige, the room was centered around the giant desk facing towards the door, a computer chair tucked underneath with a window behind it. At least there was a computer on the desk, with a sleek and modern monitor.
Passing the grandfather clock, Danny hoisted himself up into the chair when suddenly, a cold puff of air escaped his mouth and a voice behind him said, “Wow, burglars are getting smaller and smaller every year.”
Danny swiveled the chair around. Leaning against the window was the ghost, far more colorful and substantial than any of the Shades or Wraiths he’d gotten used to seeing. Her skin was a light blue with black freckles and her hair was a firey purple that flowed out from under her hood. She was wearing a superhero outfit–jumpsuit, utility belt, boots, cape, and hood–comprised of white, ectoplasm green, and hints of yellow, with a white neck gaiter over her mouth and throat, and a green bat over her heart. Her eyes glowed bright yellow.
She was a hero. She was a Phantom. She was a ghost hero.
Danny wanted to be sick.
“You can see me,” she realized. She crouched down in front of him, their gaze never breaking. “You can see me.”
“No shit, Sherlock,” Danny spat, tramping down his own instinctive urge to cry. Stupid, worthless baby body, this was not the time! “Why don’t you take your sterling silver deduction and shove it up your ass.”
She reared back. “Whoa, kid, you kiss your mom with that mouth?”
“Ain’t interested in necrophilia, hoe-bag, sorry you can’t get your rocks off.” He swiveled back around. He didn’t want to look at the dead teenager. It hit too close to home.
Laughing, Danny felt her drape herself across the back of his chair. “Holy shit, kid. Bruce really keeps adopting them crazier and crazier.”
“Who the fuck said I was that bastard’s kid?” Danny wiggled the computer mouse and the monitor immediately woke up to the home screen. “He doesn’t even have a password,” Danny said, shocked.
The hero peeked over his shoulder. “If you’re not Bruce’s kid, then you’re a thief. And Brucie probably didn’t think he needed to defend against corporate espionage in his own home, little baby thief. He’s not too bright.”
“I’m not a thief,” he grumbled as he clicked on Bing. There were no other search engines on the computer, not even Google. That, more than anything, is what convinced Danny that Bruce Wayne was secretly a monster. “I’m just living here for a few weeks, that’s all.”
He typed “Bruce Wayne Wikipedia” into the search bar and started reading.
“So you are Brucie’s kid!” The ghost concluded, snapping her fingers. “Or his ward, at least. Come on, squirt, there’s no reason to lie to your pal, Spoiler–”
“Not his kid,” Danny hissed, his voice warbling and resonating with the ectoplasm of the room. Wayne had a wiki page a mile long. The majority of it was compiled under the label Scandels. “Dick’s”
She laughed. “You’re Dick’s kid!? God, out of all B’s kids to inherit his adoption thingy, I didn’t expect Dick of all people.”
Danny looked up from the computer. He’d only just gotten to Wayne’s Guardianship over Dick. “You say that like he’s got more than two.” Dick and Tim. “Does he have more?”
Spoiler shook her head, chuckling. “You haven’t met Bruce’s daughter yet, have you? And then there’s all the kids he hasn’t adopted. Wayne loves kids.”
“...In a weird way, or…?”
“Normal way! He loves kids the normal way!” She laughed again. “Geeze, kid, you’re a riot. What’s your deal, anyway? You a medium?”
“Something like that. I work as one, at least.” He said with a shrug. “Why are you hanging around the Waynes? Were you investigating him when you died?”
“Nah, just doing my regular patrols. Nothing else I can really do. Ghost on ghost crime is at an all-time low.” She sighed. “The name’s Spoiler, by the way.”
“You can call me Danny.” He stopped reading for a second before turning the chair around so he could look at her. “Is there anything I can help you with? Unfinished business, arresting your murderer, messages to loved ones?”
“Is that what you normally do as a medium?”
“Sometimes. Sometimes I fake seances to scam stupid people out of their money. Not everyone comes back as a ghost, but a lot of people feel entitled to the dead’s time, and I still need to eat.”
“And you just automatically assumed I was murdered just because I’m a ghost? I’m mean, you’re right, but I’m pretty sure that’s stereotyping, punk.” She leaned back against the window, crossing her arms.
“I’m sorry. I’d assumed that because you’re a hero, not because you’re a ghost. You don’t have to tell me anything more about your death; I know how much that hurts.”
Spoiler studied him for a moment. “You’re a good kid. Dick got lucky with that.”
Danny opened his mouth to respond, but his ears pricked. Someone was walking down the hall. Danny quickly closed out of the wiki page and searched for “ice cream near me.”
Dick poked his head in. “There you are! I was worried you’d squireled yourself away in… somewhere you weren’t supposed to go.” Danny cocked his eyebrow, and Dick rubbed the back of his neck. “Bruce has some… adult things lying around that I don’t want you to get an eyeful of.”
How incredibly suspicious. Dick was clearly protecting Wayne out of love for him. In a deadpan voice, Danny said, “you don’t have to worry; I already found Wayne’s sex dungeon.”
An incredulous laugh escaped Dick as Spoiler howled with laughter. Danny did his best to tune her out as Dick walked around to his side of the desk. He rustled Danny’s hair. “You really intend to make me get you ice cream? After all those reporters this morning? You’re cruel, kiddo.”
Danny shrugged. “We can go in disguise. And Tim’s coming with us, so while they’ll be looking for a group of two, we’ll be a group of three.”
He cocked an eyebrow. “He is? I don’t recall inviting Tim.”
“Tim’s lonely.” Smart or not, Tim still willingly spent over an hour voluntarily hanging out with an 8-year-old. Danny couldn’t imagine doing the same when he was Tim’s age. “You really so cheap that you can’t treat your brother to some ice cream?”
“Cold-blooded,” Spoiler scolded, unheard by Dick but unwilling to be left out of the conversation. “Honestly, Dick, I am ashamed.”
“So ashamed,” Danny agreed. Dick shot him a confused look. “Tim would cry if he heard you say that. Do you want Tim to cry?”
“I think he wants Tim to cry!” Spoiler gasped.
“Stop!” Dick held up his hand. “Danny. Is there a ghost in the room?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy.”
“It’s ‘weather man-’ You know what? It’s not worth arguing. Danny, I thought we had a deal; you need to tell me whenever there’s a ghost in a room, understand?” Danny scoffed. Dick pressed on, “Do you understand?”
“It’s a stupid rule.”
“It’s an important rule,” Dick countered. “I can’t protect you from ghosts, and they can hurt you, Danny. Not every ghost is a good person.”
Danny rubbed a scar on his arm, a souvenir from a particularly nasty poltergeist he’d tried to deal with on his own. Dick had a matching scar on his back from stray glass; he’d found Danny in the middle of the storm and dragged him to safety. Then gave him a two hour lecture about handling things on his own and that Danny was only a child while Dick had years of experience and blah, blah, blah. Danny refused to admit that Dick had a point–he was 18 in mind, if not body, and he’d dealt with infinitely more dangerous ghosts than one barely material poltergeist. Just because he didn’t have most of his powers didn’t mean he was useless!
“...There’s a ghost,” Danny admitted. “But she’s just passing through; this isn’t even her haunt.”
“And does she need help?”
Danny looked at Spoiler. His offer from before had never been answered. She shook her head, looking genuinely regretful. “I’m good for now, kid. My murderer is way above your paygrade, and the Bats are already gunning for him.”
“She’s fine, just chilling. Can we go get ice cream now?”
“It’s still–” Dick checked his phone– “9:30 in the morning, kiddo. We’ll go after lunch though. Now!” He clapped his hands together. “I came up here to get you. The detectives finally got to Mrs. Bennett’s apartment and we set up a video call for you to consult with them.”
“Really!?” Jumping up from the chair, Danny rushed to the door, almost falling flat on his face. “What are we waiting for!? Her son-in-law is going to get away with it if we don’t hurry! Come on, Dick!”
“Wait! Danny, you don’t know where you’re going, come back!”
“Then come on!”

How to Incorporate Natural Elements in Bedroom Design
Choose Natural Materials for Furniture :
Opt for furniture made from sustainable and natural materials. Wooden beds, bedside tables, or chairs crafted from oak, teak, or bamboo not only add warmth but also exude timeless charm. Reclaimed wood is a great option for eco-conscious homeowners, combining sustainability with rustic elegance.
2. Embrace Earthy Color Palettes :
Natural elements come alive in spaces painted with earthy tones. Soft greens, warm browns, sandy beiges, and off-whites mimic nature's hues. You can also introduce these colors through bedding, curtains, or accent walls for a cohesive look.
3. Use Organic Textiles :
Natural fibers such as cotton, linen, and wool bring comfort while aligning with the theme. Choose organic bedding, throws, and cushions to introduce texture and visual appeal. Handwoven rugs or carpets in neutral tones can add an extra layer of warmth and charm to the space.
4. Bring in Plants and Greenery :
Indoor plants are a simple and effective way to bring a natural vibe into your bedroom. Opt for low-maintenance options like snake plants, pothos, or peace lilies, which not only thrive indoors but also enhance air quality. Place them on bedside tables, windowsills, or in hanging planters to add a refreshing touch of greenery.
5. Integrate Natural Lighting :
Maximize natural light by hanging thin curtains or blinds that allow sunshine to permeate the space. Large windows and skylights may help you feel more connected to the outdoors. If natural light is scarce, use warm-toned LED lights to simulate the radiance of sunshine.
6. Incorporate Stone and Natural Accents :
Stone elements like a pebble-based bedside lamp, marble tabletops, or a stone feature wall can add an earthy feel to the bedroom. Accessories like terracotta pots or clay sculptures further enhance the natural aesthetic.
7. Decorate with Nature-Inspired Art :
Artwork inspired by nature can subtly integrate the outdoors into your bedroom. Choose paintings, photographs, or prints depicting landscapes, florals, or wildlife. Handmade macramé wall hangings or woven tapestries can also add a bohemian touch.
8. Use Sustainable Flooring :
Natural flooring materials like hardwood, bamboo, or cork are durable, eco-friendly, and visually appealing. To add warmth and softness, layer the floors with jute or wool rugs in natural tones.
9. Install Wooden or Wicker Accents :
Wooden or wicker decorations, such as lampshades, baskets, and headboards, provide a raw and rustic feel. These components provide richness and depth, making the area seem inviting.
10. Incorporate Water Elements :
A tiny indoor fountain or a tabletop water feature may provide the calming sound of running water to the area, making it more relaxing. These materials are very efficient in generating a Zen-like mood.
11. Optimize Airflow :
Good ventilation is a natural element often overlooked in design. Ensure windows are strategically placed to allow for cross-ventilation. Ceiling fans with wooden blades can complement the natural theme while improving air circulation.
12. Create a Connection with the Outdoors :
If your bedroom has access to a balcony or garden, design it to seamlessly blend with the indoors. Use glass doors or large windows to create an unobstructed view of nature, fostering a deeper connection to the environment.
13. Add Natural Scents :
Incorporate natural fragrances using essential oils, potpourri, or beeswax candles. Scents like lavender, eucalyptus, or sandalwood can evoke a sense of calm and relaxation, aligning with the overall theme.
14. Focus on Eco-Friendly Practices :
When designing a nature-inspired bedroom, prioritize eco-friendly choices. Use non-toxic paints, sustainable materials, and energy-efficient lighting. This not only enhances the natural aesthetic but also supports environmental well-being.
15. Keep the Space Minimalist :
Nature thrives in simplicity. Avoid clutter and choose a minimalist approach to design. Select a few key elements to emphasize the natural theme, creating a clean and calming environment.
Conclusion
Including natural components into your bedroom's décor is a lifestyle decision that promotes peace and well-being rather than being a fad. Carefully choosing decorations, colors, and materials can help you create a peaceful haven linked to the splendor of the outside world. Start simple, play around with many ideas, and see how your bedroom becomes a peaceful, natural refuge.

Chic and Cozy: How to Achieve the Ultimate Home Comfort
Creating a space that’s both chic and cozy is the ultimate design goal for many homeowners. You want your home to feel inviting and stylish, a place where you can relax after a long day while also showcasing your personality and taste. With the right combination of furniture, textures, and decor, you can easily blend sophistication with comfort. Here’s how to achieve the perfect balance between chic and cozy in your home.
1. Layer Soft Textures
One of the quickest ways to make a space feel cozy is by layering soft textures. Think plush throw blankets, fluffy pillows, and tactile rugs. Opt for soft fabrics like velvet, linen, and wool to add warmth and comfort without sacrificing style. A velvet throw on a leather couch or a wool rug on hardwood floors creates a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere. Don’t forget to add textured cushions in various shapes and sizes to make your space feel extra snug.

2. Use Warm, Neutral Colors
Neutral tones like soft beige, warm greys, and creamy whites are the foundation of a cozy and chic home. These colors not only create a serene and relaxed environment, but they also provide a versatile backdrop for adding color pops through accessories, art, or furniture. To make the space even cozier, consider warm metallics like brass or gold accents to elevate the look while still maintaining a relaxed vibe. A neutral palette can look polished while feeling homey, especially when layered with texture and softness.
3. Incorporate Comfortable, Stylish Furniture
Furniture plays a key role in combining style and comfort. Opt for pieces that are both functional and inviting, like a deep, comfortable sofa or an oversized armchair perfect for curling up. Look for furniture with clean lines but soft edges—think a sleek, modern couch with plush cushions, or a sophisticated accent chair with a soft, rounded shape. Adding a large, inviting ottoman or a cushioned bench to your living area makes the space even more functional and cozy.
4. Bring in Natural Elements
Natural materials not only add visual interest but also bring a sense of tranquility to a space. Incorporate wood, stone, or greenery to create a grounded, organic vibe. A wooden coffee table, stone accents, or an array of houseplants can introduce nature’s calming energy into your home. Plants, in particular, add life to a room, making it feel fresher and more inviting. Opt for easy-care plants like succulents, snake plants, or ferns to keep things low-maintenance yet high-impact.

5. Use Lighting to Set the Mood
The right lighting can make all the difference when it comes to comfort. Soft, ambient lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, ideal for cozy nights in. Use a mix of table lamps, pendant lights, and floor lamps to layer the lighting in your space. Opt for dimmable bulbs to adjust the mood depending on the time of day or the vibe you want to create. Candles are also a great way to add both light and a touch of warmth, whether placed on a coffee table, a mantel, or in the bathroom.
6. Create Inviting Nooks
An inviting nook or corner is the epitome of cozy chic. Carve out a little retreat in your home where you can relax, read, or simply enjoy a quiet moment. This could be a window seat with plush cushions, a cozy corner with a comfy chair and a good reading light, or even a small, intimate dining nook. The key is to design a space that feels intimate and personal, perfect for winding down after a busy day.
7. Personalize with Art and Decor
Adding personal touches to your space is essential for creating a cozy home that also reflects your style. Whether it’s a collection of family photos, a gallery wall with your favorite artwork, or unique vintage finds, make sure your decor feels meaningful to you. Personal items like travel souvenirs, heirlooms, or handmade pieces add warmth and individuality to a chic home. Just be sure to balance decor with space—too much clutter can detract from the coziness.
8. Keep It Simple but Sophisticated
Simplicity is key to creating an elegant, comfortable home. Avoid overcrowding spaces with too many decor items or furniture pieces. Instead, choose a few statement pieces that serve both form and function. Think of a sleek sofa paired with a minimalist coffee table, or a simple, yet striking, light fixture that draws the eye without overwhelming the room. When in doubt, less is often more—allow the space to breathe and let your key pieces shine.
Conclusion
Achieving the perfect balance of chic and cozy in your home is all about combining comfort with style. By layering soft textures, incorporating natural elements, and selecting furniture that’s both stylish and inviting, you can create a space that feels luxurious yet lived-in. Add personal touches with art and decor, and use lighting to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. With a little thought and care, your home can be the ultimate sanctuary—chic, cozy, and designed to make you feel at peace.

What Are the Key Design Features of a Trendy Entryway?
An entryway serves as the first impression of a home, setting the tone for the rest of the interior. Designing a trendy entryway involves a combination of functionality, aesthetics, and personal style. Here are some key design features to consider:
1. Welcoming Color Palette
Choosing the right colors can create an inviting atmosphere. Soft neutrals like beige, gray, or pastels can make the space feel airy and welcoming. For a bolder look, consider accent walls in deep hues or vibrant wallpaper. The color scheme should complement the rest of your home while offering a fresh welcome.
2. Statement Lighting
A stylish light fixture can serve as a focal point in your entryway. Consider oversized pendant lights, chandeliers, or modern sconces. Make sure the lighting is functional and bright enough to illuminate the space effectively. Layering different light sources can also add depth and warmth.
3. Functional Furniture
Incorporate furniture that balances style and functionality. A chic console table provides space for keys, mail, and decor items. If space allows, add a bench or a small chair for a place to sit while putting on or taking off shoes. Opt for pieces that reflect your style—think rustic wood, sleek metal, or vintage finds.
4. Storage Solutions
Keeping the entryway organized is essential. Built-in storage solutions like coat racks, cubbies, or shelves can keep everything in its place. Consider using decorative baskets or bins to store items like gloves, scarves, or hats. This not only maintains a tidy appearance but also makes it easier to grab what you need when heading out.
5. Personal Touches
Your entryway should reflect your personality. Add personal touches like family photos, artwork, or decorative objects that tell a story. A gallery wall can be a stunning way to showcase your tastes and experiences. Incorporate plants or fresh flowers to bring life and vibrancy to the space.
6. Mirrors for Depth
Adding a mirror can enhance the sense of space in an entryway. It reflects light and creates an illusion of a larger area. Choose a mirror with a stylish frame that aligns with your decor theme. A full-length mirror is ideal for checking outfits before heading out.
7. Flooring Choices
The flooring in an entryway should be both stylish and durable. Consider options like tile, hardwood, or vinyl, which can withstand high traffic. Adding a stylish runner or mat can define the space while protecting the floor from dirt and moisture.
8. Seasonal Decor
Don’t forget about seasonal changes! Swapping out decor items, wreaths, or pillows can keep the entryway feeling fresh and inviting throughout the year. This simple update can make a significant difference in how the space feels.

When buying chic furniture for your new home, especially from a brand like ARV Furniture, here are some key tips to consider:
1. Define Your Style Chic Aesthetic: Decide on a cohesive look—whether it’s modern, Boho Chic, minimalistic, or something else. ARV Furniture offers a variety of styles, so knowing what you’re after will help. Boho Chic: As you’re interested in Boho Chic for your living room, focus on furniture with natural materials, woven textures, and neutral or earthy tones. 2. Quality Over Quantity Invest in high-quality, durable pieces that will last. ARV Furniture often offers a range of well-crafted items, so look for solid construction materials like hardwood or quality fabrics. 3. Functionality Opt for multi-functional furniture, especially if you’re working with limited space. For example, a click-clack sofa (which you’ve been interested in) can serve as both a couch and a bed. 4. Mix and Match Incorporate a mix of statement pieces (like an upholstered LED bed) with simpler, more subtle items. This contrast can enhance the chic factor of your space. 5. Modern Farmhouse Design Ideas:Blending Rustic Charm with Contemporary Style
Modern farmhouse design has taken the interior design world by storm, offering a perfect blend of rustic charm and contemporary elegance. This style is all about creating a warm, inviting space that feels both timeless and fresh. Whether you’re renovating your home or just looking to add a few farmhouse touches, these modern farmhouse design ideas will help you achieve that cozy yet sophisticated look with best interior designers in south delhi.
1. Embrace Neutral Color Palettes
One of the hallmarks of modern farmhouse design is a neutral color palette that creates a calm and soothing atmosphere. Think whites, creams, soft grays, and earthy tones like beige and taupe. These colors serve as the perfect backdrop for the natural materials and textures that are central to the farmhouse aesthetic.
Pro Tip: Add contrast and depth by incorporating black or deep navy accents, whether through furniture, fixtures, or decor. This will give your space a modern edge while keeping the overall vibe serene and inviting.
2. Incorporate Natural Materials
Natural materials are a cornerstone of farmhouse design, bringing warmth and authenticity to your space. Wood is a mustwhether it’s in the form of exposed beams, hardwood floors, or reclaimed wood furniture with top10 interior designers in delhi. Stone, brick, and metal accents also play a significant role in adding texture and interest.
Pro Tip: If you’re looking to add a rustic touch, consider using reclaimed wood for shelving, mantels, or even as an accent wall. The imperfections and natural patina of reclaimed wood add character and charm to any space.
3. Mix Old and New
The modern farmhouse style is all about balancing old-world charm with contemporary elements. Pair vintage or antique pieces with sleek, modern furnishings to create a space that feels both lived-in and current. For example, a rustic wooden dining table can be paired with modern metal chairs, or a classic farmhouse sink can be installed with contemporary fixtures.
Pro Tip: Don’t be afraid to mix different eras and styles. The key is to find a common thread—whether it’s color, material, or shape—that ties the different pieces together, creating a cohesive look.
4. Focus on Functional Spaces
Farmhouse design is rooted in practicality, so it’s important to focus on creating functional spaces that work for your lifestyle. Open floor plans are common in modern farmhouse interiors, allowing for seamless flow between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. This not only makes your home feel more spacious but also fosters a sense of togetherness.
Pro Tip: Incorporate built-in storage solutions to keep your space organized and clutter-free. Consider adding a mudroom with benches and hooks for a practical yet stylish entryway, or built-in shelving in the living room for displaying books and decor with interior designers in noida.
5. Use Shiplap and Wainscoting
Shiplap and wainscoting are classic farmhouse elements that add texture and interest to your walls. Shiplap, with its horizontal wooden planks, gives a space a rustic, cottage-like feel, while wainscoting adds an element of elegance. These wall treatments can be used in any room, from the living room to the bathroom, to create a cozy, farmhouse vibe.
Pro Tip: Paint shiplap or wainscoting in a soft white or light gray to keep the look fresh and modern. If you’re feeling bold, consider a dark, moody color for a more dramatic effect.
6. Incorporate Industrial Elements
Modern farmhouse design often includes industrial elements, such as metal light fixtures, iron hardware, and exposed piping. These elements add a modern touch to the rustic charm of the farmhouse style, creating a balanced, eclectic look.
Pro Tip: Choose industrial lighting fixtures like pendant lights or chandeliers with an aged finish to maintain the farmhouse feel while adding a touch of modernity with office interior designers in noida. Consider using black or dark metal hardware on cabinets and doors for a cohesive look.
7. Create a Cozy Kitchen
The kitchen is the heart of the farmhouse home, and in modern farmhouse design, it’s all about creating a space that’s both functional and welcoming. Opt for a large farmhouse sink, open shelving, and a mix of open and closed cabinetry. A kitchen island with barstools not only adds extra seating but also provides a gathering spot for family and friends.
Pro Tip: Use butcher block or natural stone countertops to add warmth and texture. Pair them with classic subway tile or patterned backsplash for a timeless yet modern look.
8. Layer Textures
Layering textures is key to achieving a cozy, inviting farmhouse feel. Incorporate a variety of textiles, such as chunky knit throws, linen pillows, and woven rugs, to add warmth and comfort to your space. Natural fibers like cotton, wool, and jute are perfect for creating that laid-back, farmhouse vibe.
Pro Tip: Mix and match different textures to create a dynamic, layered look. For example, pair a plush, upholstered sofa with a rustic, wooden coffee table and a soft, woven rug for a balanced and inviting living room with interior designers in newdelhi.
9. Decorate with Farmhouse-Inspired Accessories
The right accessories can tie your modern farmhouse look together. Consider decorating with items like vintage signs, galvanized metal containers, woven baskets, and farmhouse-inspired artwork. These pieces add personality and charm to your space, making it feel truly homey.
Pro Tip: Display collections of vintage kitchenware, glass jars, or pottery on open shelves or in glass-front cabinets for an authentic farmhouse touch. Keep accessories minimal and thoughtfully curated to avoid a cluttered look.
10. Add Greenery
Bringing the outdoors in is an essential aspect of farmhouse design. Incorporate greenery into your space with potted plants, fresh flowers, or even a small herb garden in the kitchen. Plants add life and color to your interiors, making your home feel fresh and welcoming.
Pro Tip: Use simple, rustic containers like terracotta pots, metal buckets, or woven baskets to display your plants. Opt for low-maintenance plants like succulents, ferns, or fiddle leaf figs to keep things easy and green.
Conclusion
Modern farmhouse design is all about blending the old with the new, creating spaces that are warm, welcoming, and full of character. By incorporating natural materials, neutral color palettes, and a mix of vintage and contemporary elements, you can achieve a look that’s both timeless and fresh. Whether you’re updating a single room or redesigning your entire home, these modern office interior designers near me farmhouse design ideas will help you create a space that feels cozy, stylish, and uniquely yours.

Day 31: Veritaserum
186 days.
That's how long Draco had been held in the Department of Mysteries, trapped in a cell that barely left him enough room to lie down except when they came to take him out and interrogate him.
Draco'd relived the horrors of the past two years, over and over through their invasive questioning, through their digging around in his mind, through the imperious curse, and most recently through a stint of days spent with veritaserum flowing through his veins.
He heard their footsteps coming down the hallway, their voices recapping what they'd learned so far. Day 6 of veritaserum. He used his nail to scratch another line in the wall next to his thin mattress.
187 days.
Then he heard a third voice, a voice he would have recognized anywhere. "Veritaserum?" Potter asked, sounding incredulous for some reason. "But that's illegal."
"Auror Potter, I'll remind you that you're out of your jurisdiction here. You have no say in what happens or the means used to collect intelligence that is invaluable when it comes to protecting future generations."
"And," the man, whose breath always smelled stale and turned Draco's stomach, added, "There are no 'laws' during wartime when we need to catch criminals."
"The war is over," Potter replied, voice sharp and something in the pit of Draco's stomach thrilled at that.
"Out of your jurisdiction," the woman reminded.
A moment later, there was a sharp rap of a wand against the metal bar of his cell and the man called, "Let's go, Malfoy."
He stood, moving toward the door with his head down, and that was when he felt it; the crackle of Potter's magic around him like static electricity.
Draco couldn't resist looking up at that, meeting Potter's eyes. The green was blazing, he's furious and Draco wondered what (or whom) that fury was directed at. His fists were clenched at his sides, shoulders stiff.
Even with all of the obvious tension, Potter looked good, Draco thought; healthy, strong, handsome, like he had the entire world at his feet. Which, to be fair, he probably did. He wondered what Potter saw when he looked at him.
(Read more below the cut)
"Move," the woman snapped and Draco dropped his gaze from Potter, his thoughts weren't his own, not really. He couldn't afford to allow even more trouble in his mind.
He staggered down the hall, his legs feeling like they were made out of jelly, and flinched when the door to the white room opened and bright, sterile light spilled out over him. Draco made his way in and sat down in the same chair he always sat it, the shackles immediately chaining his wrists and ankles down. He fought the inevitable wave of panic as the woman walked over.
"Drink," she instructed, holding a vial to his lips.
He clenched his hands but did as he was told because it only made things worse when he didn't comply. The veritaserum flooded his mind, making his mouth feel loose and his mind feel unpleasantly open.
"Last time we talked about the treatment of muggles and muggleborns in your home under He-who-must-not-be-named, do you remember?"
"Yes," he replied.
"Today we'd like to hear about your complicity," the woman said. "We want to hear about everything that you did and that other people did to people who opposed you."
"What was it like to live in your home with He-who-must-not-be-named?"
"Horrible," Draco answered honestly, trying to keep the thoughts and memories at bay as long as he could. "I lived like a prisoner."
"The truth!" the man demanded, even though Draco couldn't have lied if he wanted to. He drew his hand back, preparing to strike Draco and Draco closed his eyes, bracing himself for the impact.
Then there was a surge of magic so strong that it made Draco breathless. He waited for the inevitable pain but there was nothing and when he opened his eyes it was to see that both of the unspeakables had collapsed forward onto the table and Potter was standing in front of him.
"Malfoy," he said and the tone of his voice made it seem like it wasn't the first time he'd said it. "Come on," he urged. "We don't have much time."
He reached out and Draco took his hand uncertainly. This couldn't be real, could it?
"Malfoy," Potter pleaded, "Please, we have to go."
Draco staggered to his feet and followed the other man down a winding set of hallways, through moving doors, and all manner of strange things before they reached a passage that wasn't dark and vaguely terrifying.
"Here," Potter said, handing him a vial. "It's polyjuice potion. You're going to look like unspeakable Harrison. Once you look like him, we're just going to walk straight out, do your best to look calm. As soon as we're outside I'm going to apparate us."
"Potter," he finally managed, "Why are you doing this?"
Potter looked at him then, really looked at him, "Can we talk about this later?" he asked. "I swear I'm not trying to trick you," he added. "Please. Just let me help you."
At this point, what did Draco have to lose? What could be worse than this? He took the potion from Potter's hand and quickly swallowed it down, trying not to gag at the unpleasant taste as his body shifted and changed.
"Keep your head down," Potter said, "Don't answer any questions. You'll still have the veritaserum in your bloodstream."
Draco nodded and Potter opened the door, it was like he morphed into a completely different person. He smiled jovially as he strode across the foyer, waving and greeting people every step of the way. Every eye in the room was on Potter and it made Draco's skin crawl to have attention focused so near to him.
It felt like an eternity but it couldn't have been more than 45 seconds before they were out of the door and Potter was offering him his elbow, "Harry Potter lives at Number 12 Grimmauld Place," he murmured.
And before Draco could ask what the bloody hell he was talking about, Potter was apparating the two of them away. They landed in the Black Ancestral Home and Draco was shocked. And confused.
So confused.
"Hold on," Potter said. "We're not out of the woods yet. Too many people know about this place." He picked up a copy of a book called Treasure Island off the side table. "Portkey," he explained quickly, "Hold on." And then as almost an after thought, he added, "Harry Potter lives at 4 Oceanview Lane."
Draco took the other side of the book and felt the hook and tug behind his belly button as they were moved through time and space.
This time when they landed, it was in soft, soft sand, and Draco staggered, trying to catch his balance. Potter clasped his elbow to steady him, "Alright?" he asked softly.
Draco nodded, "Yes," he found himself compelled to add, the Veritaserum still hadn't quite faded from his veins.
"Come on," Potter said, giving him a gentle tug toward a little cottage just up the beach.
It was a lovely little house, lots of windows and glass doors overlooking the ocean. The walls were painted in cool beiges and light blues and white curtains fluttered in the breeze.
"Are you hungry?" Potter called over his shoulder after he kicked off his shoes and headed deeper into the house.
"Starving," Draco replied and Potter turned to look at him, frowning.
"When is the last time you ate?"
He shook his head, "I don't know. Time passed funny in there. I tried to keep track," he said, "but I don't really know."
Potter's frown deepened, "Come on. Let me show you your room," he said. "I picked up some clothes for you but we'll have to go shopping later so you an pick out what you like."
"Potter," he said as he followed the other man toward the back of the house, "I don't understand."
"You're free, Draco," the other man said. "Well, not entirely because they'll be looking for you. But you're safe here, safe with me. I won't let them find you and I won't let them take you back," he added with a firm nod.
"Potter," he called again, "This doesn't even make sense."
"Please," Potter said, as though he was well aware of how little sense this all made. "I just," his shoulders slumped a bit, "I found out they were keeping you locked up in there like," he shook his head, "Like some-"
"Criminal?" Draco offered.
"Worse," Potter said, shaking his head. "And it was wrong and no one would listen to me. So this is the best I can do," he said, gesturing at the cottage around him. "A little house in the Seychelles. No one even knows this place exists except for Ron and Hermione," he added.
"i don't understand," Draco said, leaning against the wall to support himself.
"I know," Potter said, "Just. Can you trust me for now? We can talk about it more when you're not so exhausted. Come in," he added, gesturing to the room.
Draco stepped through the door to a room with hardwood floors and white walls, with a sliding glass door that lead out into the sand and the ocean beyond. The bed was covered in soft white bedding and a door at the side of the room led to a bathroom with a proper bathtub and a shower.
He was dreaming, he had to be.
"There are some things in the drawers over there for you to wear," Potter said, sounding a touch anxious. "We'll find you things you like better whenever you're ready."
He stepped over and reached out a hand to touch the bed but pulled up short when he caught sight of his filthy hands. "This is for me?" he asked, looking over at Potter.
"Yeah," he said, nodding. "There's a second room across the hall that I'm in, if you'd rather have that one, but I thought you might like to be able to see the ocean."
"I don't know what to say," he said.
"Say you'll stay," Potter asked. "At least until we can get your name cleared."
"I don't think that's ever going to happen."
Potter sighed, scrubbing a hand over his face. "Maybe, but can we just cross that bridge when we get there?" he asked.
"Okay," Draco said because this was all so strange, everything felt surreal, but Potter seemed to breathe a sigh of relief at his acquiescence.
"I'll go make us some lunch," he said quickly. "Do you want to freshen up first?"
Draco nodded, "If that's okay?"
"Yeah," Potter said, nodding, "Yeah. Anything you want." He gave Draco a little smile, "Towels are in the cupboard on the left when you go into the bathroom; there's soap, shampoo, conditioner, and the like in the shower," he added. "I'll be in the kitchen. Just shout if you need anything."
Draco watched him go, still very confused. But for the first time in a very long time, just a little bit hopeful.

Where?
---------------------------------
Its a fic about how Scar got to yhs.
---------------------------------
Scar had been less stressed than usual that day, it was probably because they had found the mycelium resistance's base yesterday and the diamond throne had been recovered. Thinking he could relax a little bit, Scar flew over to the town hall wanting to sit on his newly reconstructed throne. Feeling the wind through his hair was nice but it also set him on edge with how much he'd flown straight into walls multiple times.
Seeing the brick building come into view he allowed himself to glide down through the door and to the base of the diamond throne. Climbing to his seat, he finally allowed himself to fully relax. Only then did he notice how tired he was, 'it wouldn't hurt to close my eyes for a bit right?' The mayor thought to himself 'it'll just be for a minute.' Feeling the cold smoothness of the throne he easily fell into a peaceful slumber.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Waking up, Scar held his hand up to rub his eyes when he realised that what he was lying on wasn't the familiar cold smoothness that was his throne but warm and soft. Yanking his eyes open he surveyed the room around him, it had beige walls and a hardwood floor, it didn't even look like a type of wood he knew. Before he could closely examine the wooden floor the door on his left opened revealing a young woman with black hair with blonde highlights carrying a tray.
"Oh! Your awake, we found you asleep on the street so we decided to bring you to our house, " the woman said setting down the tray beside him before continuing "here eat up you must be hungry."
Checking his hunger bar, Scar realised he was on 4 bars. Had he forgotten to eat before going to town hall? Looking at the tray, he was surprised at the items on it, there was a bowl on the tray filled with what looked like rice porridge and a porcelain? spoon. Picking up the bowl and spoon that was on the spoon he started eating, it was good food so he ate every last bit, burning his tongue in the process, at least he knew he wasn't dreaming. After finishing the rice porridge, Scar looked at the woman again and asked "We?"
"I'm sorry I forgot to tell you, my fiancè and I found you."
"Well thanks for the food, I'm Scar by the way."
"I'm Silly it's nice meeting you Scar," Silly said picking up the tray, "follow me I'll introduce you to my fiancè."
Scar happily obliged following her. Through the door was a larger room with a table in the corner with six chairs around it, to the left of the table lay a couch and two armchairs one currently occupied.
"This is my fiancè Invader!" Silly chirped motioning towards the bearded lady on the armchair while going to put away the tray.
"I'm Scar, it's nice to meet you." Scar greeted.
Invader raised her head from the newspaper she was reading and nodded at him before continuing to read.
He should probably be worried about how he got here and he was! But the way things looked were so different from hermitcraft, where even was he? Starting to panic about how the shopping district was, what the mycelium resistance would do next and the unfamiliar place he was.
Realising the panic in the newcomer, Scar, Invader put down her newspaper and walked towards him. She'd helped people calm down before. Muttering calming words to try and calm him down, she'd ask him questions later.
------------------------------------
"Sorry about that." Scar muttered as he scratched the back of his neck.
"It's fine, but why were you panicking?" Invader asked.
"Um. I run company, I'm just worried about it." he lied, well it wasn't a complete lie.
Invader nodded knowingly "Well you're free to leave whenever you want to."
