4:36am – gojo satoru
Tumblr media
synopsis. satoru is dying (he has a fever) and he needs his darling wife (you) to nurse him back to health
contents. fluff, lovesick!gojo, even in sickness gojo can still flirt, he yaps a lot abt marriage and he’s kind of perverted, but he’s just so in love why dont you just give him one chance?
notes. i tried to make this very shoujo-esque. cant have a good shoujo anime without a fever episode!  this has also been sitting in my drafts for a hot minute. enjoy yet another fic of me showering satoru with affection (sigh).
Tumblr media
the cold wooden floors of your dormitory creak underneath your waddling feet. your sleepy haze does not deter you from the strong desire for a cold glass of water.
surprisingly, the usual dark communal kitchen is illuminated by the small lightbulb inside of the fridge. you hear shuffling of some items from the white icebox, removing any ounce of sleepiness from you. it was unusual for anyone to be up at four in the morning.
a tuft of white hair peeks over the refrigerator door, giving the culprit’s identity away.
“satoru? i thought you were still on that mission in sendai?”
the sounds of digging pauses. satoru’s rises to his full height, towering over the rundown refrigerator door. he gives you a crooked smile that you rarely see. it’s dopier than one of his signature cocky smiles.
“missed me? don’t worry, i tried to speed run it since i knew i had such a beautiful woman waiting for me back home.”
you placed a hand on your hip, scoffing at his pathetic attempts to flatter you. a snarky response was about to fall from your lips, but a series of painful coughs from the lanky male stopped you.
you recoil back to avoid his germs. “gross. are you sick?”
satoru sniffles, pointing his nose in the air. the same nose that was starting to turn pink from irritation. “i can’t get sick. it’s physically impossible.”
“don’t be stubborn, satoru. why didn’t you call for help?”
he huffs, eyes trained to the floor. “it’s too early. shoko’ll kill me for waking her up.”
sometimes you forget that satoru had an image to uphold. he was the great gojo satoru, after all.
but if you don’t take care of him, then who will? and despite your disdain at the thought of coddling his ego, it was only basic decency to take care of a fellow peer (or that was what you’d like to convince yourself).
silently, you place the back of your hand to his forehead. you’re not surprised by the warm sensation that you feel.
satoru’s hazy eyes watch as you move your hand from his forehead to his cheek.
you purse your lips in concern. with the way satoru was stubbornly denying that he wasn’t sick, you were nearly certain that he was indeed not fine. without warning, you grab the collar of his white t-shirt and pull him to your room.
“at least take me out to dinner before~”
“shut it.”
Tumblr media
it wasn’t hard to get satoru to settle in your bed. in fact, he seemed giddy at the opportunity. while he was happy cuddling with your rilakkuma plushie, you came to two conclusions: either satoru had a wound from his mission that got infected, or he was simply sick.
knowing his pride, you lean towards the former.
the boy in question winces when you grab his shoulders to inspect the damage done to him. the sounds of furious pats and heavy breathing is the only thing you can hear over your rapidly beating heart as your hands run down his body to check for any injuries. satoru sucks in his breath when your hands cup his cheeks to loll his head to check for any damages done to that pretty face of his.
his body tensing up doesn’t go unnoticed by you. your imposing hands immediately retract, afraid of inflicting any more damage on him.
“where is the wound?!” your frantic eyes meet his blissed out ones.
satoru sighs happily, lazily grabbing your hands to bring back onto him,  “there isn’t one, this just feels nice.”
your chest angrily puffs up before you shove him into your soft mattress. he grunts, but you know it didn’t hurt.
“[name]!” he whines, rubbing the arm that cushioned his fall.
you cross your arms angrily, “you scared me!”
gojo mimics your actions, crossing his arms while weakly glaring at you. his efforts to intimidate you prove futile as he shivers uncontrollably, resembling a newborn kitten.
sighing, you delve into your closet, emerging with an oversized black sweatshirt that you toss to him.
he catches it with ease, a chuckle escaping while he inspects the sweater, “i never took you for the type to wear this.”
“....that’s not mine.” you give a nod in the direction of the men’s sweater. the sparkle of amusement vanished from satoru's eyes, coinciding with his jaw dropping.
his grip on the dark sweatshirt tightened while his head darted back and forth from you to the clothing item. “then whose is it?!”
“suguru’s.”
you think that you’ve broken him when his face scrunches up in disgust. it’s laughable how his mouth had managed to stay wide open the entire time.
“sugu-suguru?!” he splutters. you slowly nod, careful not to make any sudden movements that could provoke him any further. “why– how– explain yourself!”
you cast an uneasy glance at the sweater, finding it challenging to summon any recollections of how you obtained it, especially with satoru's piercing cerulean eyes fixed on you. his scrutinizing stare has the power to reduce you into a puddle.
“well? go on,” he urges you when you stay silent.
“it’s nothing, really. i believe it was from that mission i had with suguru a while back. somewhere up north. i had packed light and suguru offered me his sweater.” you tap a finger on your chin to recall the memory. “i guess it just slipped my mind to return it.”
“slipped your mind, huh…” satoru sniffles before letting out a sneeze loud enough to wake up japan. you nearly jump out of your skin.
“suguru was just being friendly… and be quiet! yaga will have our heads if he finds you in the girls’ wing!” you warn the weary boy in front of you, prompting him to respond with a dramatic sigh.
“how mean!” he whines before making a pained expression. you quickly rush to his aid. when you make it to his bedside, satoru weakly hands you a clean tissue.
you stare at it blankly.
“be a darling and help me blow my nose?” he gestures for you to hold the tissue up for him. all you can hear are muffled whines when you shove him underneath your plush covers.
when your flurry of attacks ends, he cautiously lifts his head from beneath the sheets. to his surprise, a steaming bowl of bitter melon miso soup is presented to him. while the broth isn't your personal favorite, shoko appreciates its bold flavor, spurring your decision to prepare it the night prior. despite its bitter components, the concoction had a perfect track record of treating illnesses. you have your brown haired friend to thank.
perhaps it was cruel of you to take enjoyment while he eyes the bowl in horror. you know his sweet palate couldn’t handle it.
he looks up at you with big pleading eyes while shaking his head. you roll your eyes.
“c’mon, it won’t kill you.” the bowl inches closer to him by your doing. “please?”
satoru's pallid complexion contorts into a hesitant frown. "i’ll eat it…” he concedes reluctantly. however, his gaze lingers on the bowl with a mixture of uncertainty and reluctance. you respond with a hopeful smile, but it fades when he adds, "on two conditions."
“this is for your own health, not mine satoru.” you remind him.
“doesn’t it pain you to see me suffer?” he brings up, eyes glittering in the darkness.
you suck in a breath. “...not really.” lie.
“you wound me, love.” he clutches his shirt like he has been critically hit.
you bite your lip, tired of his theatrics. “what are the two conditions?”
just like that, gojo comes back to life.
“condition number one! you have to feed me.” he points one finger into the air, paired with an innocent smile. “and two: i want you to warm me up like that night in our first year.”
an unflattering appalled expression is cast over your face. no words leave your mouth for a good minute. “y-you’re disgusting. why are you the way you are?”
“love,” he sighs. “anyways, what kind of wife wouldn’t feed her husband while he’s dying?”
“satoru,” you warn. he was starting to babble nonsense again. “if i accept your conditions, will you shut up?” your eyes were starting to feel heavy. it was the middle of the night, after all.
he nods fervently.
carefully with the bowl of soup in hand, you gently squish yourself next to satoru on your full sized bed. the tight fit left you little room to move, forcing the two of you to nestle closely to each other. with a gentle maneuver, you rest your head on his chest. his arm slowly drapes itself protectively over your shoulder.
“your heart is beating awfully fast.” you whisper, tilting your head upward to take a glimpse of satoru’s feverish face. his breath hitches.
he takes a hand and holds your head back onto his chest to prevent your movement.
“shut it. i didn’t think you would actually accept my conditions.” he mumbles.
“don’t get used to it. this is another moment of weakness.”
you stir the spoon in the broth, basking in the silence of the night, save for satoru’s erratic heartbeat.
“this is very intimate isn’t it?” he gushes. “it’s almost like we’re married—”
“keep your side of the deal,” you remind him, lifting a spoonful of broth up to his mouth. satoru looks straight into your eyes as he opens his mouth to receive it.
his adam's apple bobs when he swallows, “i’m going to tell our grandkids that we were written in the stars.”
you shove another spoonful of soup into his mouth.
Tumblr media
extra notes
satoru magically recovered from his fever the next morning.
his second condition (for you to warm him up like that night in your first year) refers to this fic from earlier on in the series.
satoru also made you promise to never accept another hoodie from suguru. if you needed one, satoru was more than willing to give you his! (you halfheartedly agree, only because he was acting all delirious because of his fever).
as of right now, there have only been three occasions where satoru has fallen asleep in your presence. he can testify that those were the best nights of sleep in his life.
shoko went into your room for a spare pair of stockings the next morning only to find you tucked into gojo’s chest. she chases him out of your room all while calling him a pervert . bless her heart.

Ghost Chirps AU Part 4
A little treat in these trying times
Part 1 & 2
Part 3
***
The first time Daniel chirps (to Vlad’s knowledge, but it’s actually the fifth, he was just out of range in the GZ all the previous time) Vlad responds immediately.
The boy attacks him just as viciously as ever, and Vlad assumes from then on that the boy is merely taunting him, crying out for family only to go “no, not you.”
Vlad ignores it from then on. It isn’t particularly frequent anyway.
When he hears him chirping back and forth with some other ghost somewhere on the East Coast he feels his eye twitch.
He dismisses it, however. No doubt it is one of Daniel’s little ghost allies helping him try to antagonize Vlad into showing up just to be rejected again.
Well, Vlad won’t fall for Daniel’s petty tricks. He would be Vlad’s son in time one way or another, no need to indulge the boy’s temporary sense of superiority.
It is grating when it wakes him up in the middle of the night, but he goes back to sleep quickly after.
Midday, he thinks he might have to track down Danny’s little friend for a nice long chat about Not Doing That. But that’s an issue for later.
Before “later” can arrive, Vlad finds himself taken into “temporary custody” while the police search his house.
He goes peacefully, assured that they’ll find nothing amiss, all of his ecto materials tucked neatly away in a lab that is inaccessible any way other than phasing. And wrapped in lead just in case.
He does not notice that a member of the Justice League is involved, nor would he care, certain that none could find his lab. And utterly unaware of the JLD’s existence.
Not that the JLD is needed in this case.
Despite his best efforts to change every copy of the construction crews’ blueprints both digital and physical in order to eliminate knowledge of the inaccessible room, there’s no accounting for memory.
Officer Roger worked in construction before joining the force, and it was only less than a half a year ago that Masters’ Amity home was constructed. Officer Roger still remembers the doorless, windowless box they built alongside the small mansion itself. It’s nowhere to be found on the property, so he brings it up with his superior.
Orphan questions it - nearly giving the whole team heart-attacks in the process - but a simple “I used to work in construction” seems to be enough to satisfy her curiosity.
A two hour sweep with some metal detectors finds nothing.
Then Orphan reappears from the shadows, providing another jumpscare, before pressing a hand silently to the side of her head.
The crew watches in silence as well, giving their pulses a chance to slow.
A ten-count later Orphan’s hand drops, and she strides confidently to the rear-left corner of the mansion and points at the ground.
“200 feet beneath the foundation,” she says before disappearing back into the shadows.
The crew shares a look and gets to work.
The time it takes to dig up the cube is just more time spent in a cell for Vlad, where he waits patiently, assured he’ll be released soon enough.
The lab itself would be only a minor problem - there would be fines and inspections and a heavy watch until everything was brought up to code. Questions about how he accessed it would be a larger problem.
But worst of all, in the comfort of his lab? He’s not much for hiding away incriminating documents.
Of which there are many, given his propensity for keeping extensive records of his experiments, which include unethical cloning and what sums up to human experimentation.
Once they find the actual facilities for the experiments in his Wisconsin home? It will all be over for him.
Being a ghost he could, of course, simply flee the cell and start anew somewhere else, with a new identity or even in a new dimension altogether - so long as he could nab Maddie and her children to bring with him.
But within his labs, he also keeps extensive records of himself.
A copy of the Plasmius Maximus.
Other ghost- and halfa-capturing restraints.
When he hears steps approaching his cell 2 days into his stay when it is clearly not a mealtime, he thinks “finally” assured that he is about to be released.
He only registers that it is Batman after he’s been hit by the Plasmius Maximus - cut off from his powers for at least the next two hours.
He has no chance to complain, as he is subsequently tranqued unconscious to be taken to a more secure location.
***
It’s an hour and half after school let out when the cops - who had taken to trying to distract Jazz and Danny with cards games and work stories while they waited - step away to answer their radios.
When they return, they tell them that it’s “time to go.”
The siblings share a look, then shrug.
It wouldn’t be the first time the cops had to drive them home - rare though it was, there were at least 4 such occasions in their memories. It wasn’t a big deal.
They were less than enthused when the cops explained that they’d be heading to take them to the station instead of to home. Still, they chalked it up to the whole “questions about the Red Hood” thing and moved on.
At least it meant they could dodge a home visit like Danny had wanted.
Except when they get there, they are taken to a cushy room and introduced to their social worker, a woman with a kind smile and a soothing voice who introduces herself as Bethany Scott, sits them down and explains, very gently, that their parents are currently under investigation.
To her credit, she isn’t condescending. She doesn’t try to hide away the truth; when they ask why, she tells them.
It’s a surprisingly long list of charges. Of everything on it, the violation of the meta protection acts comes as the biggest surprise.
Their parents were obsessive about ghosts, but they were also good at it. They never attack anything that doesn’t have ectoplasm.
Well, barring a few misfires.
Another surprise comes then: the Anti-Ecto Acts don’t exist. Ghosts are covered by the MPA by design, the AEA would never have gotten off of the ground in any legal capacity. It is solely a creation of the GIW, an extreme “‘real’ humans only” supremacist group that had worked at every level to pull the wool over the eyes of the small town’s citizenry so thoroughly that they’d been thought a real government agency - the imitation of which would be just one of the many charges that every member they managed to capture would be facing.
Then Mrs Scott starts talking about placement options.
Their Aunt, they are told, is not an option.
It comes as a surprise to Danny. On quiet nights, when no ghosts showed up to interrupt him and Sam and Tucker weren’t up to distract him with a game of Doomed, his mind would sometimes wander back to that darkest of timelines.
He’d wondered how Vlad had ended up with custody. Being his godfather made him an option, but Danny would’ve wanted to go with Alicia. Will be damned, Danny would’ve plead on both knees with the judge to go with his aunt. Grieving or not, he’d have wanted as much distance between him and Vlad as possible,
He’d assumed Vlad must have done something to her or paid off the judge to rule in his favor.
To find out it was because she simply wouldn’t take him?
A part of him understands. He doesn't - Aunt Alicia is a kind person, yes, but not particularly loving or caring. When his parents brought up the subject of children with her on one of their rare visits, she described herself as having “less motherly instinct than a starving axolotl.”
Not an encouraging description after he read a book on axolotls for context.
With their options being “Aunt in a small wood cabin in the middle of nowhere with the emotional sensitivity of a bull in a china shop” and “Rich friend of the family who would enable them to stay in contact with their friends and could hire them therapists even if he’s personally useless for helping them through the grieving process” she probably also figured marking herself down as a solid non-option would just expedite them getting the help they need (because she does care, even if she herself can’t - won’t - be there for them in that way).
He doesn’t hate her, but the knowledge burns. To know that there really was no avoiding Vlad - in that horrible future and in the now - makes him sick to his stomach.
Except-
Except before he can spiral, Mrs Scott tells them that Vlad is also not an option. Because he’s also under investigation.
A hysterical giggle bursts past his lips before he can think to stop it.
“Why?” he asks, ignoring Jazz’ disapproving grimace.
It’s less funny when they’re told that he’s under investigation under suspicion of mostly the same violations as their parents - including MPA violation, given the whole “million dollar ghost” incident and related propaganda. As the mayor especially, he should’ve known the AEA weren’t real and that the GIW were frauds and it was his responsibility to do something about them.
Depending on how he’d interacted with the group, he might be looking at aiding and abetting treason - or just outright treason - charges.
“If Aunt Alicia and Vlad both aren’t able to take us, then where are we going to go?” Jazz asks, shoving her emotions aside to deal with the matter at hand.
“Ordinarily, we would call up a few local fosters and see if one could take you in for a few days while we look into more long-term options. Worst case scenario you would have to spend a night or two in a hotel suite connected to mine while I found someone,” she answers. “But the two of you are in luck; Batman is the one who brought the case to our attention - apparently some erratic behavior from Red Hood brought them here, don’t ask, I don’t have all the details - and offered to run your parents’ DNA to check for other relatives that could take you. There was a match.”
The siblings share another look.
Both grandparents on their mother’s side had been only children and both were dead. Aunt Alicia had already said no and had no children of her own. Their father had been disowned by his family, and even if their other Aunts and Uncles would have been willing to take them in it didn’t matter, because all 5 had died in various accidents on their “hunts.”
“Apparently your uncle, Jerry Fenton, had a fling before he passed with one Ms Sheila Haywood. Their son, Jason, was thought to be the son of Willis Todd and Mrs Haywood until the DNA test today. He was raised by Willis and Mrs Catherine Todd until his subsequent adoption by Mr Bruce Wayne, and is currently living in Gotham.”
And it sounds wrong - the only thing most Fentons could love was mystery and danger - thus why only one out of six had survived. But they don’t know enough to dispute it.
Also. The involvement of another billionaire is setting off alarm bells. On the one hand: this could be a fruitloop paying someone off in order to forcibly adopt them. On the other hand, maybe Jason Todd really was a Fenton and being adopted by fruitloops was some kind of curse on the current generation.
“We contacted Mr. Todd the moment the connection was made. He has expressed an interest in taking you in, and flew out immediately to come and meet you. He arrived not five minutes ago.”
She paused and gave them a sympathetic look.
“I understand that this is all a lot to take in. Please know that placing you with Mr. Todd is not the end of my duties; even after he takes you, I will be following you to Gotham. I’ll be looking into counselors for the both of you, and we’ll have a follow up on that topic in a maximum of a week’s time. I’ll also be doing regular home checks to ensure you’re both settling in well and that you’re being taken good care of.
Even with what little I’ve gleaned, it is obvious that the environment you both grew up in until now was neither a safe nor a healthy one. It is my job to ensure that doesn’t happen again. If you have any concerns about your placement home now or in the future, please do not hesitate to bring them up with me. If you worry something is not “important” enough to mention, rest assured that if it bothers you in the slightest, then it’s important to me.”
She gives them each a long look.
Then she brings in Jason.

Abby with a breeding kink
Abby Anderson x female reader
Warnings: smut, mentions of IVF, breeding, strap on, strap referred to as cock
Literally just pure filth, enjoy 😈
-
You and Abby have been dating for 3 years and married for one and honestly it’s been the best 4 years of your life you couldn’t imagine spending your life with anyone but her. Recently you both decided to take the next step. You’ve been going through IVF and as happy you were to have a baby with Abby that wasn’t the only perk. Going through IVF brought out a certain side to Abby, you’ve known about this side for 3 years now but with the prospect of you getting pregnant this side has just gotten more prevalent. Abby Anderson had a major breeding kink.
Abby has always had a breeding kink, you remember the first time you stumbled upon her breeding strap. You had been dating for a year and she told you to grab the strap you wanted her to use when she got home. You rooted through her bottom drawer and came across a strap you’ve never seen before. You inspected it, it was big and it had some kind of tube at the end of it. It definitely looked interesting so you sat it on the bed and waited for her to get home.
When she got home she saw the strap you chose and shook her head “no, choose a different one” she told you and you were curious what was the issue with this strap so you poked and prodded her for answers until she mumbled something with a flush on her face. “What? I couldn’t hear you?” You asked
She sat on the bed next to you and put her head in her hands to hide her blush but it was no use as the flush moved to her ears. “It’s a breeding strap” she said a bit louder. That night she came clean about her breeding kink and about how she was afraid to tell you about it. You two have definitely come a long way from that night if right now is any indication.
The hand in your hair gripped tighter as Abby’s hips slammed against your ass. Your face was buried in the bed as Abby fucked you from behind. “That’s it baby take it” she grunted as she held your hip.
“Gonna fuck you till I cum, you want that huh baby? Want me to cum in that pussy” she growled as her strap pumped in and out of you.
“F-fuck yes Abby please” you begged, god you felt so good. Her cock was stretching you.
When you started having IVF appointments Abby got a present for the both a you. A new breeding strap, bigger and better than her previous one. This one and a little nub that rubbed against her clit perfectly and the silicone had veins that enhanced your experience too. And it also had a bigger out put of “cum”.
The squelch of your soaked pussy could be heard through out the room, the sound of skin against skin, and your whimpers and moans. God Abby loved that sound.
“So good for me baby, this pussy was fucking made for my cock” Abby thrusted deep into with each word almost as if she was proving her point.
“Yes yes yes” you could barely think at this point everything just felt so good. The grip in your hair loosened and Abby placed both hands on your hips and you knew exactly what that meant and your pussy clenched just at the thought.
Abby groaned when she saw your pussy clench around her cock. Fuck she loved to just watch her cock go in and out of your cunt, there was already a white ring forming at the end.
You were both getting close you both knew that, Abby started thrusting harder and faster into you. You couldn’t form a thought she was fucking you absolutely brainless all that was coming out of your mouth was “ah, ah, ah…”
“Mmh that’s it baby take my fucking cock fuck gonna make you a mama baby that what you want?” Abby had no control of the words coming out of her mouth anymore and her words just made you clench harder, she had to actually put more work into fucking you with how tight your pussy was getting. The raspy growl of her voice making you even wetter.
“Gonna fucking fill you full of cum”
“Gonna make you have my fucking baby”
“Gonna make you a mama” her pace was unrelenting at this point she was so fucking close.
“Yes yes yes Abby fuck make me a mama” you moaned out
“Abby Abby Abby…” your moaned crescendoed into a scream as you came around her cock, your legs shaking and your hands gripping the sheets.
“Fuck” Abby reached down for the pump attached to the strap, the knot in her stomach tightening
“Fuck” she cried out as she came her grip and your hip and the pump tightening as she shot her hot cum into you. You could feel it filling you.
You were both breathing heavily and Abby leaned down to kiss your back.
“I love you” she mumbled against the skin
“I love you too” you told her still out of breath.
Abby slowly pulled out of you groaning at the sight of her cum dripping out of your pussy, while you whimpered at the feeling of her pulling out.
She fucked her cum back into with two fingers and your whimper turned to a moan.
“Cant waste a single drop now can we mama?”
-
I need Abby Anderson to breed me and call me mama huh? Who said that?

YOU ARE MARRIED 4!!??
Part 3
Clockwork: Welcome back, my boy. How does the mission go?
Danny: I'm going to assume you ask that purely out of courtesy but it is going fine. I capture Vlad and only experience some minor inconveniences.
Clockwork: Hmmm, minor inconveniences for now it is.
Danny: I'm sorry what?
Clockwork: Nothing. Anyway, you should get ready to go pick up Ellie. Also take this.
Clockwork throws a bag full of things on to Danny as he clumsily catches it.
Danny: Oh no, you are not just brushing it off. Tell me wha- AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
A green portal opens below Danny as he falls into it, leaving behind an unconscious Vlad on the floor and Clockwork standing there looking solemnly at the closing green portal.
Clockwork: I hope you will be able to face your future challenges well my boy.
-Gotham-
Batman is seriously not having a good night tonight. He just finished Riddler's riddles when he gets news that Black Mask and Bane are currently engaging in a shootout in the harbor.
It's bad enough that there are 3 rogues that are out tonight, his daughter is also not talking to him since he forced her to go on patrol tonight since she has been benched for far too long.
It's not that he doesn't understand her but he seriously needs help with both Red Robin and him injured, Red Hood is dealing with something in his territory and Nightwing is out of town. Only Spoiler, Black Bat and Robin are available since they are not supposed to patrol tonight.
When they arrive at the scene though, all they see is knocked out Black Mask and Bane, alongside a line of goons that are sitting on the ground with head hanging low like they are ashamed of something.
Upon closer inspection, they see a man standing in front of the line of goons, lecturing them about gun safety and how irresponsible they are for shooting and disturbing the night.
Batman has been doing this vigilante work for a long time and this still can easily be ranked in the top 10 of the wildest things he has seen.
But he is Batman. So he will adapt to the situation. Slowly approaching the man, he is startled and stunned when the man turns around and starts to lecture him about fighting while injured and the importance of rest.
He is about to refute the man when a black shadow passes by him and pushes towards the man. He sees the man equally startled at first and finally intercepts the fast shadow with a hug.
Everyone falls into awkward silence as everyone from the goons and the Batfamily watch as the man and Black Bat hug each other for a long time.
Batman: Ehem!
Batman's fake cough catches the attention of the two hugging figures as they separate with a clear (green?) blush on the man's face. The man turns towards the goons and urges them to go back home and thinks about what he says.
Normally, Batman would have stopped him to capture all the goons but right now, there is a lot more important matter at hand. Batman watches as the goons pick up their belongings and scramble away to what he assumes to be their home.
Batman: Are you Daniel Fenton?
Danny: Yes and I assume you are Batman.
Batman: *Grunts*
Danny: I'll take that as a yes.
Batman: What are you doing here?
Danny: I have come to pick up my daughter. Unfortunately, my luck isn't that good. I got caught up in the shootout between these two guys and their minions and decided to stop it.
Danny says as he points towards the unconscious Bane and Black Mask laying on the ground. Spoiler and Robin approach them and check their condition. After confirming they are just unconscious, they tie the two unconscious men and contact Jim to come collect the rogues.
While Batman is supervising their work, he could hear the subtle flirting happening between Danny and his daughter. He usually is very good at handling his emotions but right now, he really doesn't know how he is supposed to feel.
Batman: Let's go back first. We will continue this conversation later.
Batman then returns to the Batmobile to see only Spoiler, Red Robin and Robin following him. He stares at Spoiler as she replies with a shrugs.
Black Bat: I will show Danny the way.
Batman releases another sigh. As the Batmobile engine booms through the streets, a silent invisible car follows it from behind.
When they arrive at the Batcave, it is quite a surprise when a car suddenly appears right beside them. Its sleek black with neon green gives it a weird retro style design.
Exiting it are an unmasked Black Bat that is blushing a little and Danny that is grinning widely. Bruce can feel his eyebrows twitching when he sees the scene. He controls his impulse to go beat up Danny and calls Alfred to inform him of their guest.
They sit together in silence as all of them think of what they question they are gonna ask him when the elevator lets out a ding and comes out Alfred.
Danny turns towards the elevator and is surprised to see a familiar face.
Danny: Mr. Pennyworth. How are you doing?
Alfred: I am good, Mr. Daniel. How are you doing? Still traveling I assume.
Danny: I am also good. Hahaha. I try to do less traveling now that I have a family but you know how it is. I don't find problems, problems find me.
Stephanie: Wait, you two knew each other.
Alfred: Why yes. We go way back with him sometimes helping me and me sometimes helping him.
Danny: Anyway, what are you doing here? I thought you said you want to retire from fighting.
Alfred: A lot has happened since we last saw each other. I for one become the butler of this family.
Danny: A butler? Well you do make a good tea. Wait, you mean this family. As in all of you guys are one family?
Alfred: Oh, Miss Cassandra didn't tell you? I would have assumed you know.
Danny: You know I wouldn't pressure her to tell me if she isn't comfortable about it. After all, each of us has a secret of our own, right?
To that statement, both of them just let out a little knowing smile. The rest of them are pretty stunt at the revelation that both Danny and Alfred know each other.
Stephanie: Wait, Danny. How old are you?
Danny: I am 21. Why?
Stephanie: Then how did you know Alfred? Both of you have like half a century of age difference.
Danny: Oh! I can time travel.
Tim: *While getting his hand bandaged by Alfred* You can time travel?
Danny: Well, not me. I know someone that can send me traveling through time.
Stephanie: So when Alfred said you are traveling, he means traveling through time.
Danny: Well, that and dimension too.
Tim: And why did you travel to these places?
Danny: Many reasons. Visiting someone, delivering items, and even capturing prisoners.
Tim: So you are a servant of someone?
Danny: Servant in a sense your parents ask you to do something. Sure, I could avoid him and just run away. But last time I did that, he made me write a 1000 word apology essay in an ancient language.
Bruce: Is it Clockwork the one you are talking about?
Danny: Oh you heard of him? Yeah. He is like my mentor/parental figure. He helps me train my power and solve my problems and such.
Suddenly, a little figure pounces on Danny as he easily intercepts it and spins the little figure.
Ellie: Hi Papa!
Danny: Hello, honey. What are you doing still not sleeping?
Ellie: I was waiting for Mama to return from work.
Danny: I see. But it is quite late isn't it. We should take you to bed now.
Cass: Ellie, I thought I already put you to bed before I went out.
Ellie: I woke up when you were getting out of bed. I wanted to follow you but Alfred doesn't allow me to.
Cass looks at Alfred apologetically. It seems that her daughter is more perceptive than she thought.
Alfred: I do believe that this conversation can also be postponed to the next morning. I would rather that all of you have enough energy to deal with your day tomorrow too.
Bruce & Tim: *Groan*
Stephanie: Can I have a cookie before going to bed?
Ellie: Oh, I want it too!
Cass: You shouldn't eat sweets before going to bed, sweetheart.
Ellie: But Aunt Steph is also getting a cookie.
Cass: Don't follow your aunt Steph. You don't want to have your teeth all fall off right?
Ellie: *Covering her mouth* No!
Alfred: I also agree with Miss Cassandra. It is a little too late to have a midnight snack. Master Damian is also tired from how he is holding himself.
Everyone turns towards the oddly silent Damian and sees that Damian is leaning against the wall as his head bops up and down dozing off to sleep. Bruce goes to pick up Damian that snuggles closer into Bruce's shoulder as he is being carried up to his room.
Under Alfred's insistence, everyone returns to their bedroom that night.

His child falls inlove
Tumblr media
Includes- Toji, Sukuna, Nanami, Gojo, Geto
A/N- Geto's part is from my previous blog
Tumblr media
Sukuna-
Sukuna practically hates anyone who isn't his wife, daughter or cook. Always thinking of them as just his next meal rather than a human. So when his daughter accompanied him in a village raid she quickly wandered off and found her new best friend. Away from the massacre as they wandered further into the forest, soon after her father had found them playing near the stream, trying to catch the fish for a gift.
Staring up at her father as he stood proudly behind her, the little boy suffering at the sight of the 4 armed man. "DADDY!" Screaming down the poor man's ear, sticking her hands out for a hug only to hug his leg instead. The flower crown tipping off. "This is my husband daddy!" Pointing to the brunette behind her, he seemed so scared of her right now, and he had the right to. "That's no son in law of mine. Scram before I eat you." Scaring the poor boy out of his shoes as he quickly ran away, not daring to look back, atleast he'd have some kind of mercy on the boy as he watched him run away, he wasn't the right type for him to eat him.
Staring up, eyes swell if tears as she watched her 'husband' run away. "But-" tears pooling down her face as she sat down, sulking as he flower crown fell off. "Get up" nudging her with his foot, he didn't like to see his loved ones crying, glancing around before squatting down beside her.
Nanami-
Coming home to find daughter sat at the kitchen table talking about her field trip, talking about how she saw the giraffes and had a parrot talk to her. She was in awe with the parrot, always talking about the rainbow bird saying her name. That was till she saw her father get home, jumping up and down as she hugged his leg.
"Guess what dad!" Not giving him a chance to respond as he tried to sit down beside you. "A boy!" Unable to finish her sentence from the excitement. Sat down criss crossed beside you, kissing your cheek as a welcome gift. "A boy! He told me I looked pretty!" She took very much pride in her outfit, especially today when she got her hair done in a new cute hairstyle, with a matching blue dress contrasting the blond her she adorned. Nodding in response to her, the way she smiled was so cute. Shaking his shoulders as she was so eager to see his reaction. "That's nice sweetheart".
Geto-
Suguru hates how his daughter has a crush on one of his followers' son, he was first happy for the fact that she looked so joyful coming back home with a real ring. Soon after he saw them playing outside, he instantly knew who's son it was.
"And then she's playing with one of the monkeys' son!?" He ranted to you, as you say on the floor trying to nurse your few months old to sleep. You didn't even pay any mind to him as he always had one of his hissy fits especially about his followers. "I should kill them all right now!" He had a deep hatred for non sorcerers, fortunately you and both of your kids had a cursed technique, so you had nothing to worry about. Nodding in response as you took it all in, "Right, yes babe, now can you get the food out of the pan?" Glancing at the cooking pot which was oversimming due to his negligence. Turning off the stove as he sat back down on the floor, making the effort rattle.
"Then he has the audacity to give her a ring!" Throwing the ring onto the table, huffing and puffing wasn't a good look on him, especially since you fell in love with him due to his sarcastic nature. "Awww, that's cute suguru" grabbing the ring and inspecting it, surely a 3 year old wouldn't be able to buy something this expensive. Hearing the soft sound of feet running towards the front door, inching a jar open as she reached for the door. "Bye bye!" Her soft voice being heard as she opened the door, eyes all going towards the front door as giggles came upon your ears.
"Hi princess, how was your day?" Watching as your husband's demeanor slightly changed to a more relaxed face, still crossing his arms over his chest. She looked so cute wearing her purple dress, smiling as soon as she saw her family. "It was great papa! This boy gave me a fish but I had to put it in the pond." His image of the non sorcerers only got worse as soon as he heard about the fish, the fish in the pond were some of his favourite types and he didn't even know how they both got into that area. Giggling as soon as you saw his face change back to a scowl, he didn't want his precious daughter to be in the same vincity of the lowlifes.
Toji-
Sending his daughter to school dressed up in allink since it was valentines day, only to receive her back with a bag full of food and a small grey teddybear sticking out. "Look daddy" swirling around her dress to show her father. "I got a gift!" Holding the gift bag up to him, the teddybear dropping out as she picked it up and walked off. Noticing the small heart shaped pin at the back of her head.
Glancing at you as he sat down beside his wife. "That's cute, she's got a gift from someone" taking small card, clearly being made by a 2 year old due to the messy handwriting. "Ya don't say" clearly in shock that his daughter found someone at school.
"Awe, maybe we should let them have a playdate then" clearly being adored at the toddlers' romance. "Hell no" inspecting the food inside, chocolate bars, sweets, even a keyring for her, taking out a chocolate bar noticing that it's his favourite brand. "Don't eat it Toji!" Slapping the bar out of his hand as you ripped the bag from his lap. Scowling at the thought of not eating. Hearing the soft sound of his daughter's feet running towards them brought him out of all his impulsive thoughts.
Gojo-
"Chocolates" flashing the chocolates his way, it was practically empty, their grubby hands running with melted chocolate as they sat in the shade beneath the tree. "Who's this?" Asking his son as he glanced at the girl who was clearly matching his off spring.
"My girlfriend!"not daring to look up at him as he stuffed his face with chocolates, he knew for a fact that his father had a sweet tooth, so he wanted to eat them all before he came, inviting the girl who gifted them to him toe at them too. The small girl waved at him, her face also covered in chocolate. Along with her poor dress, the suffering her parents would go through to get that out of her clothes.
After some convincing he had his son in his arms, hands smudging all over his collar as he carried him away, "I will marry her" reciting the exact same words gojo said to him when he was a baby. "Yeah right" knowing this child romance story wouldn't last.

SKZ Mate: Chapter 4
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: Hostility, anger, Bangchan keeps being woken up
Night finally came and the wolves felt calmer knowing their omega was asleep. There were so many emotions running through the house that it gave some of the werewolves a headache. The youngest wolf, Jeongin, the newest alpha, did not know how to respond to the feelings in the house. It put the poor alpha into a state of shock. The betas, however, were divided. Two of them were slightly uncomfortable at the projection of emotions that it gave the oldest beta a mild headache. The other two, Jisung and Changbin, were out getting supplies for the omega in hopes she would appreciate it. Then there was Hyunjin who decided to go on a rampage because of the triggering scent on her. So now that she was asleep, calm returned to their home, even though Chan knew there would be some tension in his home when she woke. For now, Chan did not want to worry or think about their reactions to her.
As Chan started to drift off on the sofa the two betas burst through the door, dropping their purchases to the floor. Chan couldn't help but let a growl out as he looked at the two wolves who looked sheepish. "Sorry hyung," Jisung whispered. "What is all this?" Chan asked, rubbing his face tiredly as he looked at the shopping on the floor. Pillows, blankets, teddies, more blankets. "Stuff for our omegas room, so she feels comfortable. We're going to start tonight," Changbin stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Why so many blankets?" Chan asked. "Huh?!" Jisung answered. "The blankets. Why so many?" Chan got up to inspect their purchases. "Did you max the card out... SEO CHANGBIN" "Ah. Ah. Ah. Christopher." Changbin tutted in defence, placing his hands on his hips. "I was merely doing what was asked of me. Besides, when she eventually likes us, she may want to nest in our rooms so we bought stuff for all our rooms." Chan pinched his nose and looked at all the pillows in different colours and softness. He genuinely could not believe the betas got carried away, but it seemed to be an understatement when he saw the crate Jisung was bringing up.
Jisung was proud of the items in the crate because he had everything planned for every possible scenario. He had candles, incense burners, shower products, lounge clothes, and wet wipes. He wanted to make sure she was comfortable in any scenario. "I think she will like them," Jisung said happily as he placed the crate on the coffee table. "What if she doesn't like any of this," Chan stated matter of factly. "Aish. Stop this. She is just afraid you can see that. She looks like she's been mulled by a wolf. Literally." Jisung reasoned. "And if she doesn't I'm not taking it back," Changbin argued as he thought about her growling at them for their efforts. "She's going to growl again, isn't she? Aish I can't deal with this. She's worse than my older sister." Changbin grumbled as he kicked one of the pillows. "I can't wait for Hyujin-ah and Minho-ah to meet her." Jisung snickered knowing those two were not going to tolerate it. "She's met Hyunjin. He didn't take to her so well." Chan said worriedly. Hyunjin had phased angrily in the woods, yet to return home. "At least she's met the best people first," Jisung said happily. "Get this all sorted out and head to bed." Chan alpha ordered before making his way to the sofa.
Chan tried his best to go back to sleep but the heavy-footed betas were making it incredibly difficult. He could tell they were trying to be quiet as they scurried around organising things, but they were still incredibly loud. Every so often there was a thud and 'shhh' that erupted from one of their mouths. Chan noticed that the two boys avoided going near a certain beta's door in case they woke him because God forbid he would be grumpy for a week. It did amuse Chan as he could hear their footsteps get to a certain point in the house before backtracking. Eventually, Chan got into a deep sleep for about an hour or two, only to be woken up by an abysmal alpha. "Right, what is it?" Chan huffed as he looked at the red-haired alpha who was inspecting the blankets and pillows. "What is all this?" Hyunjin complained, as he picked them up and put them back down in disgust. "For our omega," Chan said bluntly. "None of this is going in my room," Hyunjin stated as he walked into the living room with his arms crossed. "That's fine." Chan dismissively said as he lay back down on the sofa closing his eyes. "None of it is wool. It is all synthetic. It doesn't match my room." Hyunjin grumbled causing the alpha to growl and throw the pillow onto the floor. Hyunjin rolled his eyes and left the room, leaving his frustrated alpha in the living room.
It was only when Chan rolled onto his front that he felt a certain beta stand over him. "Yes, Min?" Chan grumbled, rolling over to look at the sleepy beta. The beta had his arms crossed as he watched his alpha. "What do I cook for breakfast?" Minho asked. "What?" Chan asked. "What. Do. I. Cook." Minho repeated. "Yes, I heard you. What's the problem." Chan asked. He was confused by the beta's problem. The male knew how to cook almost anything so why was he stuck? "Jisung said the omega is hostile at the moment," Minho answered like it was the most obvious thing. "You haven't slept have you?" "No, I have not." Chan rubbed his eyes, "Cook whatever you want Min. I'm sure she won't mind. Also, I would refrain from calling her omega. She seems to hate that." "But she is an omega... Okay. What's her name then." Minho asked. "You don't even know her name do you? Well, she sounds exciting." "Minho." Chan sighed out. "Alright alright, but what do I call her?" Minho asked. "I don't know," Chan answered in frustration "Alright. I'll think of something." Minho answered. Chan watched Minho walk away, muttering under his breath about what to call her.
While Minho was making breakfast, Y/N bolted up out of bed in confusion as she felt an unfamiliar scent. She wasn't at home, she was inside Straykid's home. Everything from the day before came back to her. Her taking a metal pole to her Alphas head. Her biting her beta. Her ending up in Wolfgang territory. All of this leading to her now being in an alphas bed. How unfortunate was she? Except she was all alone in the room and wasn't next to the Alpha much to Y/N's surprise. Normally an Alpha would keep their Omega close but it seemed as if Chris wanted to give her space, which Y/N appreciated. Y/N slowly climbed out of bed and headed towards the door when she realised she was in nothing but Chris' t-shirt and boxers. Y/N knew she couldn't go around their home in nothing but a t-shirt but the omega didn't want to rummage through his draws for a pair of clothes as that would be invasive. Y/N paced back and forth until she noticed a pile of clothes on the bedside table with a note on it. 'We bought you some clothes. Sorry if they don't fit. Jisung'. Y/N was surprised she didn't hear the beta come into the room while she was asleep. Gratefully she put on the grey jumper and joggers before heading out of the room. Y/N felt incredibly awkward walking around the house. It was as if she was invading someone's home without them knowing, yet they knew she was here or at least hoped they did.
It was only when Y/N reached the kitchen that she heard unfamiliar chatters. It made her freeze. She hadn't met these wolves yet and she didn't know how they would respond to her. "You can come in. We don't bite." The voice called out, beckoning her over. There was a hint of humour that laced his voice. "Ya, it's okay." The other wolf oozed, hoping to calm her nerves. "Sorry," Y/N mumbled feeling awkward as she walked into the kitchen and saw the two beta's. One of them was casually flicking his food with his chopsticks while the other had his back to them cooking. "Do you like kimchi pancakes?" The older beta turned round to ask. "Ah, yes, yes. I like." Y/N stated awkwardly as she watched the two males give each other a knowing look. "Are you going to sit?" The younger one asked as he patted the seat next to him with a teasing look. Y/N accepted the beta's offer and sat next to him awkwardly. Her eyes looked around the room, taking in her surroundings. "Channie-ah is asleep in Minho hyungs room. He will wake up soon." The beta explained. He could see her eyes looking around for their alpha. "That's Minho hyung. He's an asshole. Not as much as Hyunjin hyung." The younger beta whispered causing Minho to turn around, his eyes glowing yellow in a threatening manner. "Kim Seungmin. I promised to be good today." Minho said slowly in a low manner. His eyes narrowing in on the younger beta as he passed Y/N the plate full of food. "Good?" Seungmin scoffed, rolling his eyes. "You are never good." "Ya! You should respect your elders!" Minho shouted, throwing the tea towel at him, and shooing the younger out.
Y/N watched Minho move around the kitchen cooking up a storm for the other wolves. He seemed to take great pride in his cooking skills, it was almost artistic. "I can feel you watching me little omega." Minho taunted. Y/N could hear the devious smirk in his voice. She wanted to argue but restrained herself. Y/N didn't want to anger a werewolf that she had just met, despite not trusting them, she didn't want to antagonise him. "I have a name," Y/N stated, causing the wolf to turn around slowly. She watched him cross his arms in amusement. "Do you? What is it?" Minho asked, a smirk rising to his face. "Come on tell me little omega." "It's Y/N," Y/N growled at him, her eyes getting more and more silver. "Eh? Can you repeat?" The beta squinted his eyes, pointing to his ear. "Since when are betas deaf? Huh?" Y/N stated as she rolled her eyes, causing Minho to stand there stunned. He had not expected this kind of attitude in the slightest. He couldn't believe how rebellious she was. She's worse than Jeongin in a rut!
Before Minho could argue his alpha walked in, narrowing his eyes at the beta, causing him to roll his eyes. "Hi little wolf how did you sleep?" Jisung shouted as he bounded down the stairs, pushing his alpha slightly. "Little wolf which blanket do you prefer? The blue one or the grey?" Jisung asked. "Uh. I don't know why?" Y/N stated nervously, unsure why he was shoving a bunch of blankets in her face. "So you can nest in my room. My room is red but we can-" "Jisung," Chan stated, putting his hand on the eager beta's shoulder. "She has only been here a day Jisungie. Please do not overwhelm her." "But, but. Ah okay hyung, maybe I'll give the blue one to Jinnie." Jisung offered as he watched the red-haired alpha come down. "Absolutely not, I'm designing the nest when I have to." His voice was brazen and lacked care. "That's never going to happen," Y/N muttered causing the red-haired alpha to snap his head up. "What did you say omega." Hyunjin challenged, taking a step forward when Chan growled lowly. His eyes narrowed in on the other alpha until he backed down, but he wouldn't.
In the end, Y/N could not tolerate the hostility and bolted out the back door in anger. She was angry and afraid. Everything she had felt yesterday was coming back to her. It made her chest tighten and her throat close up. Despite her feelings she stopped running and sat down on the grass in the middle of the garden, burying her head between her knees. Her mind was all over the place. Images were running through her head. The faces of her past pack were starting to merge with the face of her new pack. The eyes that were once blue were changing into grey. The once earthy moss smell morphed into burnt cedar. Everything was changing and she did not know what to do. It was only when she felt the presence of an alpha sitting in front of her that she looked up. "Y/N?" Chris whispered, his eyes holding concern. "You don't get it, do you? You don't get what it's like for us omegas. You don't understand." Y/N's voice was frail as she looked at him. "I know you have been through something scary. I can see that which is why I am going to tell you this Y/N." Chan said earnestly. "I would never hurt you. None of my pack will. You are our soul mate and what that means to me is having a deep connection with an omega that I can love and cherish. Someone who will care and understand my pack for who they are without judgment. In return, we will spoil and love you. We will never hurt you ever. We will never lay a finger on you in that way. I promise that to you and I know the others will keep that promise!"

Ceremony
Natasha Romanoff x Beefy!Sergeant!Reader
18+ only read at your own risk
Summary: You get some (very nice) awards for your actions during Operation: Avalanche.
Word count: 1834
AN: Reader has a penis, no pronouns used.
This is Part 4 of my Sergeant Beef AU, following the events of this fic.
“Why is all of this necessary?” you whine, pulling at your stiff collar. Natasha slaps your hand down as she fixes the medals and ribbons on your chest.
“This is what you get for almost getting yourself killed,” she replies, although there is no malice in her tone. “Don’t worry. We can go back to my place afterwards and–”
“Finally,” you interrupt with a grin.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself,” she chastises again, although you know she’s just as excited as you are to be back on your home turf for the first time in months.
“How do I look? Would I pass your inspection this time?” you ask as she backs away from you, surveying you up and down. You’re leaning on one crutch still, but you’re glad that you don’t have to use a wheelchair anymore.
“You look fantastic,” Natasha says, leaning in for a soft kiss. “Ready?”
“Let’s do it.”
She walks at your pace as you hobble out of the parking lot, joining the large group of people gathered on the lawn of the park. Most of them you hadn’t seen since before your deployment, which at this point feels years ago. Your entire team is here too, all of them crowding around you for hugs and handshakes. There’s too many things to be said but no privacy to say them in, so you promise that you’ll give them your time once you return to the base. Men and women with more medals and ribbons than you can count come over to thank you and wish you well. It feels odd being the center of attention and you’re not really sure you like it.
Peter Parker brought along his Aunt May and she gives you a hug that almost lifts you off the ground. She cries into your shoulder while thanking you for not leaving her nephew behind and you unexpectedly get a little choked up yourself.
There’s also a camera crew from the local news station that asks you to sit down for a brief interview. You see Natasha watching you from behind the camera, a mixture of pride and worry on her face for you. She knows this event is emotionally and mentally draining for you, but she can’t be happier to be here celebrating your achievements with you.
After the interview, you sit with her in the front row, you on the aisle side because you need space for your crutch. General Fury goes up to the stage and gives the opening speech.
You zone out, hearing your name said a few times, but you don’t really care. Natasha nudges your knee with hers and you look up at her. She smiles bracingly which you return half-heartedly.
“I would now like to welcome Sergeant Y/N to the stage,” Fury says, as everyone erupts into applause. You grab your crutch and Natasha stands with you. Slowly, you limp to the steps of the stage, Natasha hovering behind you carefully. You hop up each step, your face hot as you feel all eyes on you and you pray that you don’t accidentally trip in front of them. “Sergeant Y/N,” Fury says as you approach him. He is mindful to offer you his left hand so you can leave your right one holding onto your crutch.
“It is with great honor that I present to you today the Purple Heart Award and the Distinguished Service Cross, for your bravery and actions during Operation: Avalanche. You did not hesitate to put yourself in certain danger to ensure your team’s safety, and because of your sacrifice, all six members of your team are here today. Thank you for your service and dedication to protecting this country, Sergeant Y/N.”
The applause sounds louder up here than your seat, and you stand tall as Fury pins your two new awards to your chest. Natasha is standing, probably clapping louder than anyone else, and her reaction makes you feel happier than the two awards you’ve just been given.
“Thank you, General,” you say, saluting him with a tight voice.
“Don’t thank me, Sergeant Y/N. I didn’t even write the speech,” he teases, standing next to you and posing for some pictures.
***********************************************************************
After the ceremony, you skip your own after party to go home with Natasha. You give everyone the excuse that you’re tired, which isn’t technically a lie, but now you just want to spend time with Natasha. She brings you to her apartment, which is bigger and nicer than yours, but you don’t even have a second to revel in its familiarity when she pushes you into the bedroom.
She helps unbutton your shirt, being very mindful of your new awards, taking it over to her closet to properly hang up. You can’t help but smile at how respectful she is when it's normally a desperate frenzy to get you undressed. You toss your crutch onto the floor, leaning most of your weight on your left leg while trying to simultaneously unbuckle your belt and take off your pants without falling over.
By the time she comes over to you, she’s already naked herself and you can’t help but moan when she presses against you, skin-to-skin. She wraps her strong arms around your waist, helping keep you upright, leaning up to kiss you. You can tell she’s trying to be gentle with you, but you can feel her passion with the way her hands possessively run up your sides, skating carefully over the new, large scar along your ribs. Her nails dig into your back muscles to press you against her harder.
“Nat,” you whisper when you start to feel your right leg shaking. You know you lost some muscle mass and definition being cooped up in a hospital bed for months, but Natasha doesn't seem to mind. You're also embarrassed that you can’t stay standing for long, but Natasha pulls away to take your hand and lead you to the bed. You limp after her, immediately dropping to your knees on the mattress as she lays down in front of you.
“I really want you, Y/N,” she says, practically devouring you with her eyes alone. “But if you’re not up to it, I can wait.”
“I want you too, Nat. So much,” you reply, starting to jerk yourself off to hardness. It’s been months since you’ve had an opportunity to have her like this; as often as her visits to your room in the hospital were, you weren’t well enough to engage in her favorite activity the way you used to. It had been hard on both of you to have to wait, and part of you was nervous that you wouldn’t last that long or didn’t remember how to please her.
“Okay. How do you want me?” Natasha asks, and it’s unusual for her to let you decide. But she seems to understand the importance of going at your pace and doesn’t want you to be uncomfortable.
“Uh…on your knees?” you suggest, not even sure what you’ll be able to handle. As long as the movement was minimal, you figure you’d be okay.
“Okay.” Natasha kisses you again before turning to face away from you, presenting her perfect backside. Instinctively you grab onto it, shuffling forward until your cock bumps against her butt. You’re already throbbing at her touch but you want to make sure she’s near the same level as you.
You bend forward, your side protesting a little at the movement, but you push through, slipping your arm around her waist to drag your fingers through her folds. Natasha puts her hand on your wrist to guide you better, and you start panting in anticipation when you feel how wet she is.
You dip your fingers into her while circling her clit and her body stiffens underneath you. You’re just glad you’re doing something right as she ruts back against you with a whine, guiding you to move faster and deeper.
“Fuck, I think I’m already going to cum,” Natasha admits, tightening around your fingers. She forces you to stop moving so you wait for her next instruction. It makes you feel a little bit better that you’re not the only one with decreased stamina. “Are you ready, babe?” she asks. “I want to cum with you.”
“Yeah, I’m good,” you say, looking down at your hard cock that’s standing almost at a 90-degree angle.
“Okay. Fuck me good, Y/N.”
Her words turn you feral almost instantly and you steady yourself by holding onto her waist with both hands, maybe a little harder than you intend because you don’t know how much longer you’ll be able to keep yourself upright, even in this kneeling position. The tip of your cock brushes against her hot center and this time, you don’t wait for further permission to enter her. You push in, her tight heat surrounding you, and you have to bite your lip to remind yourself not to cum immediately.
“Fuck, Nat,” you grunt, afraid to move while you adjust to how perfectly she stretches around you. Your cock twitches when she pulls you in deeper and you finally move your hips in time with hers, although a little more slowly than you would have liked.
You moan like you haven’t been fucked in months, which is technically true, and Natasha pulses harder around you when she hears your reaction to her. She pushes back against your abs with some force, a little afraid that she’ll knock you over, but she’s so desperate to be filled by you. Her toys, her hands, and even yours would never compare to your cock.
The bedroom quickly fills with the slick noises of your cock sliding in and out of her pussy. The pain in your side and thigh starts to become noticeable even with the numbing pleasure between your legs, and you realize you have to finish soon or you won’t get to at all.
“Nat, I…I need to cum,” you beg, hoping she’s at her peak too.
“Let go, babe,” Natasha says, curling her hands into the blankets and lifting her hips higher so you can piston against the sensitive spot inside of her. It takes a few more strokes that almost have you seeing stars before you unload, arching forward to bury yourself to the hilt as you pump out your seed in a few hard bursts. The pressure of being filled is enough to send Natasha over the edge, her cum dripping onto your cock as you pull out and collapse next to her on the bed, your chest heaving and sweat collecting around your neck.
Natasha reaches out to you, wrapping herself around your body like a koala bear. Although she would love to go another round with you, she can tell you’re too exhausted and doesn’t want to push you. So as you slowly drift off to sleep, Natasha whispers in your ear how much she loves you and how she’ll never take you for granted again.

Masterlist Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10
Warnings: light angst, violence
Words: 2599
The clatter of horse hooves and the steady roll of wheels over the path fill the evening air, masking the conversation inside the carriage as it continues to your manor.
After you finish your brief explanation, Wanda holds up her hand and shakes her head in disbelief.
“So, just to be clear,” she begins, her voice filled with confusion. “Queen Natasha didn’t break up with you?”
“No,” you reply in a quiet whisper. “I’ll explain more later, but regardless of what did or didn’t happen, that doesn’t give you two the right to do something like that back at the castle.”
Wanda huffs in disagreement, crossing her arms as she leans back in her seat and turns to stare out the carriage window.
Sighing at her response, you lean back in your seat as well.
While you’re glad that Wanda is growing more comfortable with her powers, you also want her to understand the need for more caution when using them.
Sitting next to his sister, Pietro awkwardly glances between the two of you and attempts to lighten the mood. With a cheerful tone, he holds up a small basket, pulling back the cloth to reveal an assortment of pastries.
“Hey, I got you some treats from the bakery to welcome you home,” Pietro announces, offering the basket to you with a broad grin.
Before you can reach for them, Wanda’s hand darts out, slapping his hands away. Her eyes widen in alarm as she grabs the basket, quickly inspecting its contents.
“Pietro!” she exclaims, exasperated. “Were you even paying attention when you bought these?”
Pietro blinks, confused. “What? What’s wrong with them?”
Wanda holds up one of the pastries, her finger pointing at the glistening red filling.
“Y/N can’t eat these. They have raspberries in them. She’s allergic.”
Realization dawns on Pietro’s face, and he looks at you with wide, apologetic eyes.
“I’m sorry! The baker’s daughter was flirting with me, and I guess I got a little distracted…”
You give him a reassuring smile, waving off his concern.
“It’s okay, Pietro. The thought is what counts.”
Pietro’s face brightens with relief, his smile returning full force.
“Well, on the bright side, I did score a date with her next week.”
Wanda immediately slaps his arm in reprimand, her glare sharp.
“Really, Pietro? She just lost her relationship, and you’re bragging about yours?”
Pietro winces, rubbing the area where Wanda had hit him, and turns to you with another sheepish apology.
“Sorry…”
You can’t help but chuckle at their familiar antics. However, the laughter feels a bit hollow when you remember that your relationship with Natasha is technically over for now.
As you glance down sadly at your hands resting in your lap at the thought, Wanda’s warm hand suddenly covers yours, drawing your gaze back up to meet her concerned eyes.
“Are you really okay with this?” she asks gently.
“I’m fine, Wanda,” you reply, attempting to sound reassuring. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
Her expression softens with concern, her brow furrowing slightly.
“Because you were happy.”
“I still am,” you insist, looking between them reassuringly. “It’s going to be okay. This secret will not be any different from when we pretended to be together.”
Pietro shifts uncomfortably in his seat, his fingers fidgeting anxiously with the hem of his clothes.
After a moment of hesitation, he blurts out, “Is that the only thing you wanted to tell us?”
Before you can respond, Wanda’s sharp elbow digs into Pietro’s side, cutting him off with a yelp. She shoots him a warning glare before turning back to you with a more composed expression.
“What he means is… we’re here for you,” Wanda says, her tone softening. “Anything you need or want to talk about, we’re…here.”
Your eyes flicker to the stack of books beside you, the top one charred and blackened—a silent reminder of the other secret you’ve been keeping from them.
It’s not that you don’t trust Wanda and Pietro; it’s just that you’re unsure if you have the courage to reveal the truth.
How can you tell them that you’re part of the family responsible for the tragedy that took their parents from them and destroyed their lives?
You shake your head lightly, forcing a small smile.
“Thank you, both of you, but there’s nothing else.”
Wanda’s brow creases with concern, and she opens her mouth as if to say something more. But then she hesitates, biting back the words, and instead presses her lips into a thin line, offering you a small, understanding smile.
“Okay,” she says quietly, though the look in her eyes tells you she’s not entirely convinced.
You turn your attention away, picking up one of the other books to silently signal that the discussion is over, pretending to read. The rest of the ride continues in relative silence, occasionally broken by light whistling from Pietro.
After a while, familiar landmarks come into view, and you realize you’re nearing your manor. Leaning forward, you peer out of the window, a mix of conflicting emotions rising at the sight of your home.
The last time you were here, you nearly lost your life.
As the memory resurfaces, a sharp, jarring pain erupts in your mind, forcing you to clutch your head in agony. Everything around you suddenly falls into a numbing silence, and for a moment, you can’t even remember what you were thinking about.
Then, a piercing whistle slices through the disorienting quiet, immediately followed by Pietro’s urgent warning.
“Watch out!”
Before you can react, Pietro shoves you back against the seat, the force of his push nearly knocking the breath out of you.
An arrow thuds into the carriage wall, embedding itself in the exact spot where you had been just moments before.
“Whoa—steady! Steady!” the driver shouts, desperately trying to calm the horses as they rear back in terror, their hooves clattering against the cobblestones.
Another arrow slices through the air from the shadows of the trees, aimed directly at the carriage.
But before it can strike, it suddenly halts mid-flight, surrounded by a crimson glow.
The arrow hangs suspended for a second before it’s flung back into the shadows from where it came.
Standing in front of you, Wanda’s hands are still raised, her fingers enveloped in that familiar red mist, and her eyes glowing with power from when she controlled the arrow’s trajectory.
Her expression is one of fierce concentration, every muscle in her body taut with tension.
Brushing away the subtle pain in the back of your mind, you scramble to the window, trying to catch a glimpse of the attackers hidden in the darkness of the trees.
But the forest remains eerily silent, the shadows concealing any sign of movement.
Then, out of the corner of your eye, you catch a glimpse of something.
A yellow glow begins to pulse within the shadows, faint at first but quickly growing brighter and more intense.
Your heart beats faster as a feeling of uneasiness hits you. You turn quickly to the other two.
“Get down!” you shout, grabbing Wanda and Pietro and pulling them to the carriage floor just as a volley of glowing shards erupts from the trees, streaking through the air like a swarm of deadly fireflies.
The shards tear through the air, embedding themselves into the carriage with a series of loud cracks. You can feel the heat emanating from them as they pass overhead, singeing the edges of your cloak.
“What was that?!” Pietro exclaims, his voice tinged with shock.
“I don’t know, but they’re not going to do it again,” Wanda says, determination lacing her words as she rises to her feet.
“Wanda, don’t—” you start to warn her, but it’s too late.
She’s already standing, her hands and eyes glowing with an intense red light. The power radiates from her, casting an eerie glow inside the carriage as she prepares to catch the next wave of attacks.
Another barrage of shards shoots toward the carriage, moving faster than any arrow.
But Wanda is ready.
With a flick of her wrist, the shards freeze in midair, their yellow glow clashing against her crimson aura. The air hums with energy as she holds them suspended for a second when the sound of another whistle pierces through the air, followed by a new barrage of glowing shards, too many for Wanda to control.
She tries to catch them all, but her focus falters as the shards move rapidly, slipping past her defenses.
Some of them manage to strike the driver, who lets out a pained cry as he falls from his seat.
The horses, already on edge, rear up in panic, the sudden movement jolting the carriage violently.
“Wanda, get down!” you call her back to safety, reaching for her, but the chaos is already unfolding too quickly.
Now wild with fear, the horses break into a full gallop, dragging the carriage behind them. The sudden acceleration throws all of you off balance.
Wanda struggles to maintain her concentration, but the erratic movement of the carriage makes it impossible. The red glow around her hands flickers, and with a sharp gasp, she loses control.
A surge of power lashes out uncontrollably, and you feel a sharp, searing pain as Wanda’s magic strikes you.
The force of it slams you back into the carriage wall, the breath knocked out of your lungs.
The carriage continues its wild, uncontrolled dash, the horses veering off the path and heading straight for the manor gates.
The carriage smashes into the gates with a deafening crash, the wood splintering under the force of the impact. The world spins as the carriage tips over, throwing all of you against the walls and ceiling before coming to a shuddering halt.
In the aftermath, the silence is broken only by the distant whinny of the panicked horses, now free from the wreckage.
The carriage lies on its side, broken and battered, the once-sturdy gates of the manor reduced to twisted debris.
As you struggle to regain your bearings, the sound of footsteps approaching cuts through the haze, and you realize the attacker is closing in.
Besides you, Pietro realizes this too and acts quickly. With all his strength, he slams the broken carriage door into the approaching figure, knocking them to the ground.
You catch a glimpse of the attacker as they roll away from Pietro, their identity completely concealed by a hooded black outfit and mask.
Wanda emerges from the wreckage just as they stumble upright, her face twisted in fury. She seizes the shattered remnants of the iron gates with her powers.
With a flick of her wrist, she hurls the gates toward the attacker.
They attempt to dodge, but they’re not quick enough. The heavy iron catches their arm, pinning it to the ground with a sickening crunch.
The attacker lets out a muffled cry of pain, struggling to free themselves, but they are trapped.
With the attacker momentarily stalled, Pietro rushes to your side, his face pale with worry.
“Y/N, are you okay? Can you move?” His voice trembles, but he tries to keep it steady.
You wince as you try to sit up, the pain from Wanda’s accidental strike still sharp in your side.
“I’ll be fine,” you manage, though the words come out more strained than you’d like.
Hearing your voice, Wanda turns to you, her expression crumbling as she sees the pain etched on your face. The red glow fades from her eyes, replaced by a look of horror and guilt.
“I’m so sorry…I didn’t mean to—” she stammers, her voice breaking.
You reach out, placing a hand on hers to steady her.
“I know, Wanda. It’s okay. I’m okay.”
Before you can reassure her further, the pinned attacker, still trapped beneath the iron gate, snarls in defiance, catching your attention. Despite the pain, they reach for something on their trapped hand—a small, glinting object atop their glove.
“Get down!” you warn, recognizing the danger. You pull the twins to cover, shielding them just as the object explodes in a blinding flash of light, turning the world around you white.
When your vision clears, you look toward the broken gates, only to find the area empty—the attacker has escaped.
A conflicting mix of relief and worry washes over you at the knowledge that you’re safe for now, but the threat is still somewhere out there.
You let out a deep sigh, wincing at the slight pain it causes, before quickly turning your attention to the twins.
“Are you two okay?”
You gently hold their faces, examining them for injuries.
“Ow, ow, just some scratches,” Pietro insists, pulling his face away slightly. “I’m okay.”
Seeing that he’s telling the truth, you shift your focus to his sister.
“Wanda?”
Her hand trembles slightly as she grips your wrist, then gently pulls your touch away from her face.
“I’m fine,” she mutters softly, her head bowed in guilt.
A soft groan draws your attention to the walls of your manor, where you see the driver leaning heavily against the wall.
“Pietro, can you check on him?” you ask.
After a brief, hesitant glance at his sister, Pietro nods and moves toward the driver.
You turn your attention back to Wanda, who now looks as small and uncertain as she did when you first met her—the younger of the orphaned twins brought into your home after losing everything.
“Hey, look at me,” you gently coax, guiding her eyes to meet yours with a reassuring gaze. “Wanda, you did a good job.”
“But I—”
You quickly shake your head, cutting her off with a firm tone.
“No, you protected us all with your powers,” you remind her. “You did good. Do you understand me?”
Wanda hesitates before nodding, though the uncertainty and doubt are still evident on her face. Realizing she’ll need more reassurance later, you decide to let it go for now.
“Alright, go see if Pietro needs any help,” you gently instruct, giving her something to focus on to distract her from her troubled thoughts.
As she moves away, you slowly rise to your feet, wincing at the lingering soreness in your body. Your gaze drifts to where the manor’s entrance gates once stood, now reduced to a twisted heap after the carriage crash.
And just when you thought all the repairs to the manor were complete.
Adding that to your growing list of concerns, you head off to check on the others once more. As you pass by the fallen iron gates, something catches your eye—a faint glow from beneath the wreckage.
Upon closer inspection, you spot a metal glove, that must’ve been left behind by the attacker, trapped under the gate. The faint light comes from a stone embedded in the glove.
Curious, you reach for the object, your hand hovering above the warm yellow glow and feeling the lingering heat of its use. The stone seems strangely familiar as if you’ve encountered it before.
A dull ache suddenly blooms at the back of your mind, causing you to close your eyes briefly and press a hand to your temple.
A quick flash of memory flits through your mind—a voice, someone speaking, no, commanding you, but you can’t make out what they’re saying.
The headache subsides just as quickly as it came, and when you open your eyes again, the yellow glow of the stone flickers and fades away.
You frown, staring at the stone in confusion, struggling to remember what had just crossed your mind.
Why can’t you seem to recall what you were doing just now?

Okay so the inclusion of Tarot cards/reading really intrigued me this chapter. I'm familiar with tarot reading so I tried to figure it out although they only said three cards. I didn't see anyone else try to pick this apart (there could be! my tumblr has been having trouble loading). So I wanted to try and pick it apart in the simplest terms.
I'm not the best with interpretations and I'm still learning myself.
--------------
-The 4 of Cups (upright) means disconnection, boredom and waiting. This card was supposed to represent Anya's present so I guess it makes sense: Anya is trying to overcome the disconnection with Damien to help in the mission. It could also point to her studies, which she finds boring. As for the waiting aspect, the entire mission is a waiting game. I've also read that the card can be about the person in question not seeing or focusing on opportunities in front of them. The Cups in the Minor Arcana usually deals with emotions, relationships, love and intuition.
-The Death card [people always take this one literally]. The Death card can mean the end of something but that also means the beginning of something else. It can also mean transformations. This change can lead to growth. I think Melinda said this represented factors around Anya. Perhaps it pertains to her growth in general (rather than the joke of Yor as the grim reaper).
-The Star (reversed). This is the only one of the three shown to be reversed. If it was upright, it'd mean hope and inspiration but reversed means the opposite: hopeless, losing trust [in the universe] and not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I think this was supposed to represent Anya's future (pretty vague and I'm not sure if Melinda was guessing about that)
Now the rest of the cards in the reading were shown too in the first shot. Again, since I don't know what spread this is so I can't tell what each card/spot represents in the reading. I can only tell what each card can mean on its own. The other ones I can see are: the Ace of Cups [reversed], 10 of Pentacles, and 3 of Swords (the last one is a Wands reversed but her hand blocks most of it out. I WANT to say 3 of Wands but I'm not sure).
Ace of Cups (reversed): feeling emotionally drained or blocked. Missing out on new emotional beginnings or connections. Aces can mean potential.
10 of Pentacles: long-term success and legacy, wealth and stability. Pentacles in the Minor Arcana can represent finances, home, physical body and practicality. Tens in the suits can mean manifestation.
3 of Swords: heartbreak and sorrow, a painful but necessary revelation or separation. Swords in the Minor Arcana represent intellect, thoughts, ideas and communication (I've also seen mind, ambitions, conflict and change). The number three can mean beliefs. The 3 of Swords tends to always be seen as...not great.
---------------
I can't really imagine that Endou Tatsuya put out a bunch of random cards as a joke. At least I don't think so. I just find it interesting that he included it, even as a joke on how little Melinda understands it. It can't just be for that joke, right? Regardless it was interesting to inspect. I'd like to think that this hints that Anya's growth will either lead her towards something or what that other factors will contribute to said growth (or both). These other factors don't sound so good though (heartbreak, and sorrow as well as hopelessness). But, it could also pertain to Damien since that was part of the reading (becoming his friend).

Love To Watch You Leave: Part 4
Tumblr media
Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw x Reader
Warnings: Slow Burn, Enemies to Lovers, Swearing, Fluff, Angst, Bullying, Eventual Smut, Grieving, Pining, Alcohol, Military Inaccuracies
- Part 3 Here -
——————————
18+ Only
——————————
You grew uneasy as Angie pulled you around the back of the guest house, away from the noise of the party and away from prying eyes… away from anyone who could help.
“Angie, is this really necessary?” You huffed, your arms crossed over your chest as you inspected your surroundings.
She was quiet for a moment, and in the dark you couldn’t make out her expression. Suddenly, startling you, she exclaimed, “Oh Y/N, I am so sorry! You’re gonna hate me, and I don’t want to be the one to wreck something good, but…” her lip began to tremble and her fingers clasped together as if in prayer.
Your eyebrows creased together, “Angie are you okay?”
“I’m a home wrecker!” She suddenly wailed, loudly. “I didn’t know he was in a relationship! I had no idea you existed until today, but he… that man, he slept with me a little over a week ago. I’m so sorry.” She was full on sobbing at this point, her high pitched cries carrying far.
You tried to shush her, not wanting to draw attention to this situation, “Hey, no, please don’t cry. Uhm… please, it’s okay… shhh…”
You tried to calm her down and you even rubbed her back like your mom used to do when you were a kid, to calm you down, but nothing worked.
“I s-swear, he never ever mentioned you.” She cried. You internally rolled your eyes at her need to state that.
“I wouldn’t have ever gone near him if I knew.” She sobbed, and then another high pitched wail escaped her lips as she cried into her hands.
“Angie, please, shhhh. Angie… ANGIE! Bradley and I aren’t even together, okay?” You blurted out.
Suddenly you clasped your hand over your mouth, and Angie stopped crying, looking at you in surprise.
“What? But I thought-“
You shook your head, “Okay, look, you can’t tell anyone, but… Bradley and I need to pretend we’re together, just until Sunday. I can’t explain why, but it’s so important nobody finds out.”
She sniffled, “Why? What’s happening on Sunday?”
“We’re staging a break up, we just have to pretend while we’re here, so… you’re not a home wrecker.” You have her a sympathetic smile. You suddenly felt sorry for her, you hadn’t expected her to have this side to her. At least she was honest.
“Okay… I feel so much better now.” She giggled through her snotty nose and tears. “So… does that mean Bradley’s available?”
You took a deep breath in through your nose to calm your sudden pang of annoyance, “Yup. He’s all yours… after Sunday, okay?”
Angie nodded and threw herself onto you for a hug. You awkwardly rubbed her back.
“Do me a favour, Angie? Give me a few minutes to tell Bradley, I don’t want to throw this at him.”
She nodded, and you both rejoined the party.
Bradley came jogging over to you, “Where have you been? I’ve been worried sick.”
“I was gone like 5 minutes, possessive much?”
“Anything could have happened, I was just scared you’d run off with Bob or something.”
You suddenly laughed, a bit surprised, “Brad, are you a little jealous of Bob?”
“No.”
“You sure? You seem a little jealous.” You poked a finger into his side teasingly.
“Shut up. You’re being a child.” He flinched away from you, but you kept poking him until he cracked a smile.
“Hey, I need to talk to you.” You admitted, “Can we go somewhere?”
Bradley eyed you up suspiciously, “Okay sure, where to?”
You dragged him back around the same corner, and Bradley was now beginning to worry.
“Look, if this is about the kiss earlier…”
“No.” You cut him off by shaking your head, “Nothing like that. Angie knows.”
Bradley almost did a double take, his jaw ticking, “I’m sorry, what?” He hissed.
“She started crying, like really really crying, saying she was a home wrecker and that she was sorry, and I couldn’t just let her believe that. She won’t tell anyone.”
Bradley rubbed his face in frustration, “Y/N, you can’t trust Angie. That’s why we broke up in the first place.” He sighed.
You were about to ask him to elaborate when Angie popped around the corner.
“There you guys are! Not fake kissing again I hope?” She winked comically, “Dinners starting, come!” She beckoned for you to follow, so you looked at Bradley expectantly.
He took a deep breath and nodded, “We’ll finish this conversation later.”
You sat down at the same long table and fell into easy conversation under the decorative lighting, relaxing slightly. Your eyes kept straying over to Bradley who was already looking at you, but you couldn’t figure out his expression. Frustration? Maybe. Anxiety? Probably. Annoyance? Definitely.
You felt bad for telling your secret, but you would have felt worse if Angie had thought she was the bad guy all weekend.
Once all 3 courses had come and gone, you were free to mingle and everyone changed seats to have conversations with other people. You stayed put, not really feeling up for being told off by Bradley. You sipped slowly at your drink as you watched everyone mingle. Bradley was on the other end of the table talking to Harris, probably spinning more yarn on your tall tale, when you felt someone’s presence next to you.
You looked over at what was previously an empty seat to find Bob, he smiled over at you.
“Hey, I’m sober now.” He announced with a chuckle. He really was quite cute, a traditionally handsome face and stunning blue eyes.
“Ah, pity, I thought you were quite a funny drunk.” You joked with a grin.
“I’ll go and grab some wine in that case.”
You laughed lightly at his humour, “Nice to meet you, Sober Bob.”
“Likewise.”
You spoke to Bob for about 10 minutes, getting better acquainted without giving away too much yourself.
“So do you work with Bradley?” You probed.
Bob nodded, pressing his lips together.
“What?” You chuckled curiously.
“Nothing, he’s just… how long have you two been together, out of curiosity?” Bobs eyebrows were ever so slightly drawn together in concern.
“Uhm… 6… 6 months.” You nodded, “How come?”
Bob took a deep breath and thought for a second, before nodding back slowly and giving you a sympathetic smile.
“I don’t think it’s my place.” He mumbled.
“Come on Bob, whatever it is, you can tell me.” You poked him light heartedly to lighten the mood.
Bob shifted uncomfortably in seat, eyeing up Bradley on the other end of the table, as he bit his lip, before turning back to you and leaning in close.
“I’m so sorry in advance for any hurt this is gonna cause… but Y/N, Bradley’s been cheating on you. Kinda openly too, he brings dates to the bar we frequent all the time, the last one being no more than a couple of weeks ago.”
You tried to force back a grin, you were very taken by how kind Bob and Angie had both been trying to make you aware of your fake boyfriends antics, but you knew you had to play the part of heartbroken girlfriend, and you thought for a second, Bingo, this was what you and Bradley would break up over.
You sat up straight, forcing a frown. “Oh wow.” You said, feigning surprise. “I… I can’t believe he would do this to me, after everything.”
You wiped at dry eyes and stood from your seat, putting on a broken voice, “Thank you for telling me, Bob. You did the right thing. I just need a moment.”
Bob watched you with sad eyes as you walked down the end of the table, partially regretting his actions.

You reached the end where Bradley stood in heated debate with Harris over some recent football game.
“Honey can I speak to you for a moment?” The question was only out of courtesy, you were already grabbing his lapels and pulling him towards the guest house with you.
“We’ll…finish this conversation later.” He said as you dragged him away.
“What are you doing?” He hissed at you.
You let go of him and as soon as you were sure you were out of everyone’s sight, you grinned.
Bradley cocked his head at your new expression, “Y/N…”
“We have an out.” You grinned proudly, summoning him to follow you back to your bedroom.
You closed the door behind you and urged him to sit on the bed.
“Can you just spit it out already?”
“Ok fine, fine! So Bob just sat me down and-“
“Yeah I know, you two just can’t keep your hands off of each other tonight can you?” He interrupted you, his eyes rolled as he leaned back against his elbows.
You looked at him with a deadpan expression, “Brad, come on, focus.”
“Sorry.” He mumbled.
“So, Bob kindly informed me that…” you held back a snort as you tried not to laugh, “that you’ve been cheating on me. He was very surprised that we’ve been together 6 months because you’ve been bringing girls to the bar, and I can only imagine doing obscene things with them.”
“That little snitch.” Bradley sat up right.
You rolled your eyes and ignored him, “So now we have a legit excuse to break up on Sunday.”
“I’m gonna kill him.” He was huffing now, not even looking at you.
You walked up to where he sat on the bed and placed your hands on his shoulders.
“Look dickwad, we’re not actually together so he didn’t really snitch you out. I mean… he did, but he did the right thing so you can’t really blame him.”
Bradley looked up at you with big brown eyes and nodded glumly. “I know, I know.”
“So, how do you wanna do this thing? Wanna pretend tonight and tomorrow that we’re working through things? And then Sunday I can throw a hissy fit and end things?” You wiggled your eyebrows at him playfully.
He chuckled, his hands landing on your waist. You held your breath for a second.
“You never used to be this funny.” He stated, his smile returning.
“Actually, I’ve always been funny.” You grabbed his hands and removed them from your waist as you stepped back and walked over to the mirror. “You’ve just never given me the time of day.”
Bradley’s eyes followed you and he grinned back at you in the mirror as you smirked at him.
“I’m sorry.” He said.
You turned your head to look at him properly, “What?”
“For what it’s worth, I never actually hated you.”
You turned back to inspect your makeup, “Well, I hated you. But… that’s faded more to an intense dislike now.” You joked.
Bradley stood up and walked behind you, eyeing you up in the reflection. He stood silently for a few seconds, so you stopped what you were doing.
“Brad, are you okay?”
He nodded, his jaw clenching, and one of his hands moved your hair to adjust your dress strap again.
“Was uneven again.” He mumbled.
You weren’t sure if it was the wine or if you were just losing your mind, but for some reason you turned around to face Bradley, the space between you already too tight, and leaned against the dresser under the mirror.
You could feel Bradley’s hot breath fanning down on your face, literal inches away.
“I don’t actually hate you. Not anymore.” You admitted softly as you looked up at him.
“I thought you said it was an intense dislike?” He chuckled softly, and again that damn hand landed on your satin waist.
“You’ve really grown up, Brad.” Your hand flattened against his chest, whether to feel him under you or to push him away you weren’t entirely sure.
His hand squeezed your waist gently and your heart began to thud.
“Y/N I-“
Suddenly he was rudely interrupted by a loud pounding on the door and he stepped back quickly, you took a deep breath, regaining some sense.
Bradley walked to the door and opened it.
“You guys! I might have accidentally maybe told Bob.” Angie walked into your room like it was her own, biting her rouge nails, her big blue eyes like a puppy dog that knew it had done something wrong.
You looked at Bradley with wide eyes, and then suddenly at the door when you noticed Bob standing there, awkwardly.
“Ah fuck.”
——————————
You now found yourself standing awkwardly next to Bradley in front of Bob and Angie, trying to explain how you’d gotten yourself into this predicament.
Bradley glared at Bob, still pissed off that Bob had ratted on him. Angie stared lovingly at Bradley, biting her lip at how his neck veins strained under his clenched jaw. Bob stared at you, wondering how soon would be too soon to ask you out.
“Guys, is anyone listening to me?” You moaned impatiently.
A chorus of “mhm” and “yep” came from the group.
“Ok so we’re clear on the fact that no one can tell anyone else about this? Or Bradley and I are toast.” You we’re starting to stress now, and you clasped your hand over your forehead in an attempt to cool it down.
Bradley looked at you, worried, and then at the clock on the wall that read 11:15pm. “Maybe we should call it a night, guys. It’s been a bit of a long day.”
Bob and Angie said goodnight and Bradley closed the door behind them, his forehead resting on the closed door as he sighed.
He turned to watch you pace up and down the room.
“Hey, can you calm down, please? Everything’s gonna be ok.”
“I dunno, I have a really bad feeling.” You bit your thumbnail nervously, and then sat down heavily on the bed and plopped your head in your hands. “God, what have I done?” You groaned.
Bradley quickly moved to sit next to you and he wrapped an arm around your shoulders. “Would you just relax, please? Nothing bad is gonna happen, I promise.”
You looked up at him through your fingers, “Not gonna lie, this side of you is kinda freaking me out.”
Bradley chuckled a sorry and removed his arm, and you sat up straight and huffed. “Ok, I think maybe you’re right. I’m gonna have a bath and get into bed, need to use the bathroom before I get in there?”
Bradley shook his head and made a start removing his shirt and pants to get into bed, which you quickly looked away from as you gathered your pyjamas from your bag.
You mumbled a ‘goodnight’ to Bradley, fully expecting him to be asleep by the time you were done, and you locked the bathroom door.
You drew a bubble bath and slid out of your dress, climbing into the warm water.
You sighed in relief as the water calmed stiff muscles and sore feet, and you quickly fell asleep.
The next thing you knew, you were waking up to the sound of someone banging violently on the door, the bubbles all gone and the water ice cold.
You shot out of the bath and wrapped a towel around you just in time for the door to fly open, the lock on the hinges breaking with a loud snap.
You let out a squeal of surprise, “What the fuck, Brad!”
Bradley’s expression was visibly relieved and his shoulders slumped. “Fuck, Y/N! I was calling you for like 10 minutes. You’ve been in there for 3 hours.”
You glanced over his shoulder at the clock that now read 2:25am.
You looked back at Bradley and pressed your lips together as a giggle tried to force its way out.
Bradley’s eyebrows creased, “That’s not funny.”
Too late, you were full on laughing now, doubled over and struggling to breathe.
Bradley had to stifle his own laughter, and he rolled his eyes. “Seriously who the fuck falls asleep in the bath for that long. Thought you died. Now I’m gonna have to pay for a new door.”
You managed to stop laughing eventually, wiping tears from your eyes, “I’m sorry, I was tired.” You explained.
You realised you still had a full face of makeup on, so you quickly washed it off in the sink and moisturised. You realised the door was not staying closed, and even with it pulled to, it would spring open a few inches without the lock in place.
“Don’t look.” You said to Bradley, who was back in bed around the corner. “I just need to put my PJ’s on.”
“Wouldn’t wanna anyway.” He said, regaining his breath and waiting for his heart rate to slow back down.
You discarded your towel and turned your back to the door as you pulled on your underwear and pyjama shorts.
Bradley caught a glimpse of your upper back and shoulder blades in the mirror opposite the bed and quickly diverted his eyes. He couldn’t help but look back every couple of seconds, admiring how your skin glowed in the yellow bathroom light.
You pulled on a white tank top and walked out of the bathroom while you brushed your hair.
“No, this isn’t gonna work.” You stated as you looked down at the bed, Bradley’s large frame taking up more than half of it.
“I’m not sleeping on the floor.” He stated.
You rolled your eyes, “Can you at least move over then?”
“To where? I’m already on the edge.”
You huffed, “No you’re not, you can easily move over a few inches, look.” You knelt on the bed and pushed Bradley’s side, trying to shift him further.
He would not move, the big oak heavier than you’d expected.
“What are you doing? Get off.” He tried to swat your hands away but you kept coming back and pushing, straining to get yourself a little bit more room.
“Move.” You grunted.
“Stop, you’re actually tickling me now.”
Frustrated with being tickled, he grabbed one of your wrists quickly, and you lost your balance, landing on top of Bradley with a ‘ooph’.
You quickly looked at him with wide eyes, something hard pressing against your hip.
“Sorry.” You whispered, and made a move to get up, but you were surprised when you felt his hand on your thigh and he pulled your leg over him.
“Brad, I don’t think… maybe I should sleep on the floor.” You stuttered, but you made no effort to move. Your face was so close to his now, even in the dark you could see how his heart pounded against his chest, and the veins in his neck pulsed. You gulped.
“Did you just gulp?” He chuckled lowly, his voice a husky whisper.
You nodded, and Bradley’s hand brushed your hair back over your should, his long fingers gently stroking your jaw.
You were acutely aware of his other hand which was still clasped around your thigh, and you wondered for a second how that hand might feel on other parts of your body.
You suddenly realised who you were thinking about, the man you hated for the better part of your life, and you gasped out loud, throwing yourself off of his torso and onto your back next to him.
You stared at the ceiling in horror.
“I think we should go to sleep.” You said maybe a fraction louder and more assertive than you needed to. The last thing you needed or wanted was to be Bradley Bradshaws newest plaything.
“Yeah, you’re right. Got enough room if I turn on my side?” He sighed.
“Yup. Goodnight.” You said quickly, turning away from him.
It took you forever to fall asleep that night, because all you could think about was how you were hot and flustered for your worst enemy, and how his boner was pressed into your lower back.

(Not fully edited, apologies for any inconsistencies! My internet is also down for now, so posts may not be consistent)
You adjust yourself to be seated more upright, again clearing your throat. Letting go of Simons hand for a moment you rub the tiredness from your eyes and take in several deep breaths. Replacing your hand and Simons in your lap, you begin.
‘I was trying to get things ready for dinner. Setting the table, cleaning the countertops, finishing the dishes. Someone knocked on the door so I set my dish down in the sink and made my way to the door to check the peephole. He was in uniform, some company uniform it…It looked so real.’ Your voices begins to fade out as the lump in your throat became harder to swallow. You shake your head to clear the thoughts, knowing that Simon would need to know the information at some point nonetheless. You take a long breath and squeeze his hand as you push on.
‘I opened the door a crack and he said that he was a home inspector of some kind when I’d asked. I remember he was knowledgeable of the company and what it was about, not that I’m remembering much now. I told him…I tried to tell him that he could come back another time and that we were busy. That’s when I knew something was off.’ Another pause that allowed you to take in more air your lungs suddenly needed desperately, Simons eyes giving the strength to continue.
‘He was so much taller, bigger than I was- I didn’t want to be alone with him, and my gut agreed. He insisted that he would check some part of the house as an annual inspection and he tried to open the door more…I-I pushed as hard as I could to shut it, and I almost had it. Everything moved so fast after that. I knew he wasn’t true to his title and that I was in danger, so I tried again to close the door with all my strength but It wasn’t enough…’ Simons hand drew you out of your mind as he thumbed over the top side of your hand. His jaw was set firm and his knee had entirely stopped bouncing. He nodded to you letting you know to continue although you knew that if you didn’t want to, he would never make you.
‘He had pushed hard to get inside against my efforts, so when he tried to do a much bigger push I let the weight of the door go and he came barreling inside. He didn’t fall but took a moment to turn and close the door, I heard him lock it. I tried to run as fast as I could, I just felt so panicked it’s like my legs were jelly. I made it to the stairs where I got up before him and to the bedroom, and I noticed he wasn’t running after me- like he knew I wouldn’t get away by running…’ Again the thoughts in your mind became a storm as you wiped a falling tear, trying to steady your breathing. Your voice went on slow, taking time to recall the events as best your mind would allow you to.
‘I grabbed my phone off the bed and went into the bathroom as quietly as I could, I had your number dialed when he kicked in the door and grabbed me around my neck.’ Your hand reached up to touch the tender spot where bruises had formed. ‘He hit me across the face and I fell backwards, and then he hit me again when I made my way to the ground. From here it gets fuzzy, I know I passed out and I’m not sure for how long. All I knew is that when I woke up I heard him rummaging through the house, and then his steps. He bounded up the stairs again for the bathroom and he saw that I was conscious. His figure is blurry when I think of it, but he was tall and had dark hair.’ You were straining your mind to try and recall what the man had looked like, your head began to ache so instead you pressed on.
‘The next thing I knew I…I saw him over me and felt a horrible burning followed by a wetness that wasn’t like water, it was warmer. He ran from the room and then the house, fleeing the scene. I couldn’t sit up and felt really dizzy, and then the pain set in. I’d never felt pain like that, so sudden and unending…. I saw my phone and made a reach for it but I just couldn’t get it in my hands. I could barely click call for your number…The next thing I know I’m here with you in the hospital.’ Simon was deep in his thoughts, a tear stain running down his left cheek.
He takes a deep inhale that sounds stammered as you touch his arm and speak out to him. ‘I’m here, and safe now.’ Simons gaze doesn’t meet yours, his face only growing more stern- he was angry. You pull your hand from him to turn his face towards yours.
‘Simon. I’m here. I’m here looking at you and listening to you. You saved me, you are the reason I am alive.’ Your eyes darted between Simons as he looked into yours although they didn’t light up in the way they typically would if you had said something of a similar manner, his mind was elsewhere. He tugged a grin across his face and then his husky voice met your ears.
‘I am the reason…’ His voice fell short in his throat before he could continue. He tore his eyes from yours to look at the floor and then back to you. He took a short breath and started again in a better tone, although you knew he wasn’t saying what he wanted.
‘You need to rest my dove, it’s going to be the best thing for your recovery and that’s whats important.’ He stood just slightly to plant a gentle kiss on your forehead. You knew that arguing his thoughts would be no use and decided he was right, within minutes you had fallen asleep.
Once your eyes began to dart underneath your eyelids, he knew that you were in a deep enough sleep that you wouldn’t stir if he had left. Simon rose to his feet and made his way out of the room silently, closing the door behind him. He didn’t like leaving you at all, but his anger for the man that harmed you outweighed the need to stay.
He rings Price as he gets to the parking garage where he moved the car after the doctors had taken you. The ring goes on for a moment, before he hears him on the other end.
‘What have you got for me?’ Simons voice is lower, a scary calm that would send chills down anyone’s spine. Price took a long breath on the other side before responding to Simon, he could hear him leave a group of other people for privacy.
‘I’ve managed to find who we think it is, and we might have a location I told you I would call when I found him.’ Prices voice rings with leadership and power, he wants to keep Simon from loosing his head all the while bringing justice to you who was harmed.
‘Where is he?’ Simon starts the car and begins to make his way out of the lot. Price sighs, a mutual agreement that Simon would be relentless in getting to the man no matter the odds.
‘I’ve already got men headed to the location Simon, and I’ll tell you when we’ve got him’
‘I want him myself.’ Simons voice is stern, and Price understands his determination more than he lets on. The team he’s sent should already be there by now, so there was no harm in allowing Simon to go, there would be others there to step in if things got out of control.
*ding* Simon takes a moment to pull the phone from his ear and see the text from Price, the location.
‘Thank you.’ Simon hangs up the phone before Price can respond, the sound of the car filling his ears as he made his way around a turn headed the right direction.
When he pulled into the abandoned apartment duplex, he found 2 more vehicles parked outside and recognized them as part of his own team. He saw their flashlights in the windows as they were searching the first story of the building, they hadn’t found him yet.
Simon parked a good distance away and walked around towards the backside of the building and rounded a corner, coming face to face with the back side of a truck. The same truck the cameras showed from the neighbor’s home, he was definitely here. He made his way further behind the building, the only thing outside being dumpsters and broken glass scattered around it. He paused upon hearing a screeching door somewhere on the other side of the building behind him.
*BANG*
*BANG*
Shots rang out from behind Simon as he spun around he saw a man lying face down to the ground groaning. He ran to the man who had been shot and heard his comrades radio that they had gotten him, and didn’t go any closer seeing Simon approach the man. Simon watched as blood slowly leaked from the man’s lower half thanks to the bullet hole through his lower abdomen. A glare caught his eye as he looked over the man, a jagged knife had fallen from his hands and was now out of reach. Simon was over the man now staring at him, he couldn’t hear his thoughts or the mans protests through the anger as he rolled him over to face him.
He held the man into a sitting position with one fist bunched around his clothing as he began to ruthlessly beat him with his other free hand. He thought to your face and swollen neck, the IV drips coming from your body, he saw the mans face was contorted and his nose began to bleed aggressively. He thought to the bandages and wounds that should have never touched your body, as he heard a crack somewhere in his hand. The man took a hold of Simons arm that was holding him up, trying to wrench himself free. He thought to your voice calling out for him over the phone as you groaned out in pain, and the fear that followed your voice and landed a punch square to the mans face. His hands that had been trying to rip him from Simon now fell limply to his side, he was unconscious.
Simon dropped him from where he was just as others had reached him to stop him from doing any more damage. He said nothing to the others as he walked back to his car, leaving the mangled man on the ground, and made his way back to you.
He pulled into the lot, adrenaline still pulsing though him as he parked the car and made his way up to your room. He took no spare time in getting back to your side, pushing open the room door to see you were still asleep. He settled into his chair as he reached out again for your hand. He felt his own hand twinge in pain as he looked down to see one of his fingers was heavily inflamed and slightly twisted, another inflamed but still straight. He huffed to himself taking a breath as he settled into the chair, he would worry of his own injuries once you were awake.
A few hours went on as nurses came and went, one staying to take vitals and waking you in the process. You sat up to see Simon in the chair next to you, this time asleep. He always looked so calm like this, something that made you feel all the more safe when with him. It was dark in the room and the nurse quickly made her way out as you laid back down and allowed yourself to rest as well.
Morning came as the doctor strode in, Simon already awake and watching a silent show on the TV. His chair was facing the same direction, his hands interwound in his lap.
‘Good morning everyone, I see you stayed the night Simon.’ Simon looked to him and gave a nod as he turned his chair to face you and what the doctor would say next.
The doctor went over test results and assured that you were recovering well, despite it taking longer than you had hoped. He left you with a prescription for medication and let you know it would be another day of tests before you could leave. Simon looked to you and smiled, a true smile now knowing that you were making progress towards being better. He let his hand come up to meet yours as the doctor began to leave the room.
‘You’re in an awfully bright mood this morning.’ You smile to Simon as you place your hand over his you feel him tense. He looks to you and blinks slowly, as he talks to you with the morning gruff in his voice you never wanted to lose.
‘Only when I get to see you.’ Your smile begins to fall as you look down towards Simons hand and find the knuckles to be bruised, one of them split. You gasp as you retract your hand from his and look to his face, which had become more serious now.
‘Simon…What did you do to yourself? It look so inflamed…’ Your voice trailed as you gently grabbed his hand and held it in clear view, he had definitely broken at least two fingers. His head fell as he stared at the blankets, and it all clicked. He went after the man, that horrible monster. You thought to yourself that it wasn’t at all necessary for him to go after him himself but understood that he felt far to much unnecessary guilt and that was how he knew to fix it.
Not that you would ever approve of Simon being irrationally violent, you felt a weight you didn’t know you had become lifted off your shoulders knowing he had been delt with. He wasn’t proud of how he handled the situation, his head lowered in obviousness, but you knew that he needed to avenge your pains and that it could have been far worse.
‘Thank you, Simon.’ He looked up to you quickly, expecting a lecture of some kind on being unreasonable or not letting someone else handle it. He didn’t respond but instead took his good hand and interlocked it with yours and slowly closed his eyes, rubbing over your small hand taking a deep breath. He let out his breath as he smiled to you half opening his eyes. You then called for the nurse although Simon initially protested, one look from you and he had been silenced. The nurse came in to see his hand and let the doctor know to make his way in to decide what to do next.
The doctor came into the room and assessed him hand carefully. To your surprise he didn’t ask Simon any questions but instead simply took him to get an X-Ray. About an hour later with a wrap around his hand, Simon made his way back into the room, plopping into his chair beside you.
The rest of the day you both sat quietly, resting as the daylight streamed in through the windows and enjoyed a show together. You watched him as you looked from the TV, he was relaxed. Sitting in the chair with his feet on the other chair across from him, he was holding your hand from the side, his eyes watching the screen.
You knew that he would do just about anything and everything for you, and for that reason alone you knew to call him.

Steddie Week 2023
May 28th Prompt: Free Space
Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6
@steddie-week
(Warning for queer slurs, but spoken in love, if that makes sense?)
“I hate you,” Robin hisses, eyes glassy. She covers her mouth, shakes her head. “Steve. Holy shit.”
He’s looking at her with an unreadable expression. His eyes are also glassy. “Yeah?”
“Yeah. He’s gonna love it. Fuck. Fuck you, dingus, I didn’t want to cry today.”
He laughs, then, and gathers her into his arms. “Thanks for letting me practice on you, Robbie.”
“I’m never doing that again. Holy shit.”
Steve smirks. “It’s alright. I promise to cry whenever you practice on me for Vickie.”
She pinches his side. He elbows hers. “Let me know when you decide to do it, yeah? I’ll steal Jon’s camera.”
Steve snorts. “Just borrow it like a normal person, Robs.”
“Literally when have I ever been normal.”
“…Fair point.” He shifts. “You think he’s gonna like it? For real?”
“If he doesn’t like it I’m taking your nail bat and practicing with his head.”
“Robin, oh my god.” He laughs, probably more than the joke warrants—especially considering he’s not entirely sure she’s joking—but he’s so relieved. “I love you.”
“Yeah, yeah. Love you too, dingus. Just tell me when.”
“Um. Tomorrow night, actually. I’m taking him back to Hawkins, to the quarry.”
She makes a face. “Why there?”
“It was our first date. We had a picnic.”
“Oh my god,” Robin says, then her eyes widen. “Wait. Steve. Steve. You have a ring.”
Steve laughs, digs his hand into his pocket. “I was wondering when you’d ask.”
“Oh, fuck you,” she says, grabbing at his hand and peeling his fingers open, grabbing the ring as soon as she can, turning it and inspecting it. She frowns a little, looking intently at the inside. “What-”
Steve smiles. “I love you in Elvish.”
“You’re both suck dorks.” She looks up at him, smiles. “He’s gonna absolutely love it.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. You know he’s head over heels for you.”
Steve blushes. “I still don’t know how.”
“Because you deserve it, dingus, you’re a good guy. A really good guy. And, according to everyone who likes guys, you’re extremely attractive.”
Steve laughs. “Thanks, Robin.”
“You’re welcome.”
A key in the lock startles them, and Robin slips the ring back into Steve’s pocket a second before the door opens. “Hey, sweetheart,” Eddie says, smiling at Steve, before turning to smirk at Robin. “Hey, freeloader.”
She squawks and launches herself at him, clinging on like a koala. “I’ll show you freeloader.”
“Oh my god get off of me you weigh a ton, Stevie, baby, help me!”
Steve just laughs. “You brought this upon yourself, babe.”
“Ah!” Eddie winces. “Jesus, Robs, elbows! In my spleen! How the fuck did you even do that, you fucking contortionist?”
“Dick.”
“Dyke.”
“Faggot.”
“Jesus fuck,” Steve mutters, eyeing the two of them. “It’s impossible for there to be peace when you two are together, isn’t it?”
They both look at him and answer simultaneously. “Yes.”
They both laugh as Robin drops off of Eddie, pressing a kiss to his cheek as she ruffles his hair. He grins and kisses her forehead before moving to embrace Steve, wrapping him in a hug and kissing his temple. He sighs, long and content. “It’s good to be home.”
Steve chuckles. “Was today that bad?”
“No, just long. Dinner?”
“In the oven.”
Just then the timer dings, and Robin races past them, yelling over her shoulder, “I’ll get it!”
They both chuckle, then Steve kisses Eddie’s cheek. “Hey.”
“Hey yourself.”
“We’re going to Hawkins tomorrow.”
Eddie’s brows scrunch up. “What?”
“Hawkins. Tomorrow. I’m the one with hearing loss, babe.”
“Actually, with your hearing aids, I’m pretty sure you can hear better than I can.”
“Fuck off.”
“Mmm, no. Something about how you love me.”
Steve softens. “Something like that,” he agrees, pressing a soft kiss to Eddie’s lips, swaying them in place, like they’re dancing. “I already called off for you. And for me. It’s overnight, but just for a night. We’re gonna drive back the next day.”
Eddie smiles. “Am I ever gonna understand what goes on in your head?”
Steve laughs. “You already do. Sometimes you know me better than I know myself.”
Eddie nudged Steve’s nose with his own. “Something about how I love you.”
“Something like that,” Steve agrees, then lets Eddie seal their lips together.
That is, until a knitted potholder flies into their faces. “Dinner time,” Robin says brightly when they break apart, like she isn’t the reason for the airborne potholder.
Tumblr media
“And you’re sure you can’t tell me why we’re going to Hawkins?” Eddie wheedles for what feels like the millionth time.
“Nope,” Steve says happily, popping the p. “You’ll just have to wait. Enjoy the suspense. I am.”
“You’re only enjoying it because you know where we’re going,” Eddie argues.
“Exactly,” Steve says, then takes Eddie’s hand. “You’re gonna love it, Eds. Please stop worrying.”
“I’m not worrying,” Eddie says, then slumps when Steve just turns an eyebrow on him. “Okay, maybe I’m worrying a little. But only a very little!”
Steve chuckles. “Sure, babe.” A few minutes later, he reaches up to turn the radio down. “How’d you feel about no music for a while?”
“Okay,” Eddie says immediately, looking at Steve. “Are you okay? Headache?”
Steve smiles, brings Eddie’s hand up to his mouth to kiss it. “No headache, I’m okay. I was actually wondering if you’d read to me for a bit.”
Eddie raises his eyebrows. “You brought a book?”
Steve hums. “In the backseat, blue bag.”
Eddie reaches back and rifles around for a minute, then looks at Steve with a delighted expression. “I’m kissing you as soon as you stop driving.”
Steve chuckles. “Duly noted. Start wherever you want.”
Eddie blinks. “I’m in the middle of this one.”
“I know.”
“You won’t have any idea what’s going on.”
“I like listening to you.”
“You’re a sap,” Eddie says, even more delighted. “Holy fuck, I love you. Okay, um, I’m on chapter ten. The choices of Master Samwise. Frodo was lying face upward on the ground and the monster was bending over him, so intent upon her victim that she took no heed of Sam and his cries, until he was close at hand. As he rushed up he saw that Frodo was already bound in cords, wound about him from ankle to shoulder, and the monster with her great forelegs was beginning half to lift, half to drag his body away.”
He continues reading, getting more and more into it, affecting accents for the different voices, slowing down for some parts and speeding up for others, and Steve thinks his heart might burst for how much he loves this man.
They arrive in Hawkins before too long, and the first thing they do—just like every time they have to go into Hawkins for whatever reason—is visit Wayne.
Eddie blinks when he opens the door. “What the fuck?”
Steve and Wayne share a look borne of knowing Eddie. “You alright, Wayne?”
Wayne waves him off, makes a face at his cane. “Fine. Slight accident at work, fell wrong, banged my hip. I still get around fine and I didn’t want you two worryin’ none.”
“That’s our job, old man,” Eddie says, pulling Wayne into a hug. “It’s good to see you.”
“It’s good to see you boys, too.” He hugs Steve next. “C’mon in, make yourselves at home, y’know the drill. Steve, you wanna grab us some beers?”
“Love to,” Steve replies with a chuckle, following Wayne inside.
They talk and catch up for a few minutes before Eddie excuses himself to use the restroom. “Your stuff’s in the pantry,” Wayne murmurs to Steve. “Want to run it out to the car before he gets back?”
“Oh,” Steve says, like he just realized. “I asked after you’d fallen, didn’t I?”
Wayne hums noncommittally. “Not like I minded. Was just about goin’ stir crazy with the time off work.”
Steve chuckles, leans in to hug Wayne, and goes to put the bag in the car.
A few minutes later they’re hugging goodbye. “Robin’s here to take pictures,” Steve murmurs in Wayne’s ear. “I’ll get her to drive you up to Indy for the dinner tomorrow.”
“‘Preciate it,” Wayne says, clapping Steve on the back before turning to Eddie. “Get in here, boy.”
Eddie laughs and hugs his uncle. “Love ya, Wayne.”
“You too, kid. Take good care of ‘im, yeah?”
“Yeah,” Eddie agrees. “We’ll see you later.”
“Mhm. You kids have fun.”
Eddie narrows his eyes at Steve as soon as they’re back in the car. “That wasn’t what we came down here for.”
“Nope,” Steve agrees. “You’ll see soon enough, Eds.”
Eddie sighs and collapses back into his seat. Steve just grins, wholly in love.
Soon, though, he sits up again, interest piqued. “Are we going to the quarry?”
“Got it in one.”
“Steve,” Eddie says slowly, suspiciously. “What are we doing here?”
Steve doesn’t answer for a few minutes, just plays with Eddie’s fingers with one hand, the other on the wheel, his eyes never leaving the road. “Remember the first time we went to the quarry?”
“Must’ve been eight years ago, now, huh?”
“Just about,” Steve agrees. “We were just kids, terrified and halfway in love and no clue about how our lives would turn out. But we made it. Against all odds, we made it.” He glances at Eddie, smiles. “Thought it would be kinda poetic, coming back here.”
“Yeah,” Eddie agrees softly, rapt attention on Steve.
“So,” Steve continues, shrugging. “There’s some stuff in the back. Thought it might be nice to have a picnic again. Just to take some time off and remember how it was back then, think about where we were versus where we are.”
“Ugh,” Eddie says, glassy-eyed. “What have you done to me, I used to be cool.”
Steve laughs. “You’ve always been a nerd, babe. Pretty sure I’m the only one who thinks you’re cool.”
“Well, joke’s gonna be on you when we have a kid and they think I’m the coolest dad ever.”
Steve blinks, smiling even as Eddie freezes beside him. “I bet they will, Eds.”
That small sentence is enough to release the tension coiling inside Eddie, flowing out and leaving him looking at Steve, besotted.
Steve parks and they make their way to the edge, a mirror of all those years ago. Steve unfolds a blanket and lays it out, thrusting the bag at Eddie. “Here, start getting the food out, please.”
Eddie’s eyebrows steadily climb higher as he unpacks. Sandwiches, fruits, brownies, and drinks. Both of their favorites, and Steve makes a mental note to do something for Wayne soon, because nobody deserves the actual angel that is Wayne Munson.
They eat and talk and joke around, and kiss—a lot—and just as they’re finishing, the first raindrop splatters down.
Steve looks up, dismayed, to see dark clouds all around them.
Eddie whoops and jumps up, packing everything up and stuffing it back in the car, before running back to Steve and swinging him around in a hug, laughing. “What,” Steve says, but he’s laughing too, because he can’t not be happy when Eddie’s happy.
Eddie stops, sets him down, and grabs both his hands, looking Steve in the eyes. “Do you remember a few days ago when we were watching Singing in the Rain?”
The last time they’d seen the movie was at least four months ago. “Sure.”
“And you were sighing, all forlorn, and I asked what was wrong? And you said you thought you would’ve liked to dance around with someone in the rain?”
Steve can’t help the laugh. “I’m in love with your brain. That was at least five years ago, Eds.”
Eddie frowns. “No, that can’t be right, that was like, a week ago.”
Steve laughs harder. He can’t tell if the water on his cheeks is rain or tears. He doesn’t really care. “It was at least five years ago,” he assures his boyfriend.
“Huh,” Eddie says, shrugging. “Okay, well, I waited and waited and waited and it never worked out. It either always rained while we were asleep or while we were at work, or if we weren’t either of those things, it was a thunderstorm, and I sure as hell wasn’t gonna take you out in that. So.” He grins, wide and unashamed, and bows, offering Steve a hand. “May I have this dance?”
Steve’s going to die and it’s going to be Eddie’s fault. His heart is just going to give out one day because it can’t take how much he loves Eddie. “Of course,” Steve answers, taking Eddie’s hand, and Eddie lights up, dragging Steve into a crushing hug and pressing their lips together in a bruising kiss. “I love you,” he murmurs against Eddie’s lips. His breath hitches. “I love you so much.”
“I love you so much,” Eddie responds softly, wiping away Steve’s tears. “Happy?”
“Beyond,” Steve answers, floundering for a way to tell Eddie exactly how he’s feeling. But then Eddie smiles at him, and his smile is wobbly, and Steve suddenly knows Eddie knows exactly how he’s feeling.
They sway together for minutes or hours or days, Steve doesn’t know or care, letting the rain on the leaves and the ground be the rhythm they move to, an unhurried dance that somehow means everything.
The rain eventually lets up, and Steve pulls away after a few minutes, so they’re holding hands. “I have a question.”
“Okay.”
“We’ve known each other for a little over eight years now. We saved the world and managed to fall in love in the middle of it. The Shire was burning, we defeated Sauron, and I carried you out of Mordor. Against all odds we made it out alive, and against all odds we made it out of the Shire, and against all odds we made it together. It’s been eight years and every one’s been an adventure. Every day has been an adventure with you. And I may not know what our lives may hold next, but I know whatever the adventure is, I don’t want to do it without you by my side.” He kneels, pulling out the ring, and Eddie gasps, tearing up.
“Stevie-”
“So,” he continues. “Eddie. I know we can’t legally get married. I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to, but I don’t care. I don’t need the government to tell me who I can and can’t marry. I love you, baby, and if you’ll have me, I’ll love you forever. Will you fuck the government and marry me?”
Eddie’s shaking. “That,” he manages after a minute, “was metal as fuck, baby.” He sniffs, shakes his head, and laughs. “Of course. Of course I’ll marry you. We’ll flip off the whole of the government together.”
“Hell yeah,” Steve says, grinning, and stands. “Before you put the ring on, though, there’s something I want you to see.” He turns it, points out the inscription on the inside, and Eddie tackles him with a yell, and they both go down laughing.
“Baby,” Eddie manages after a minute. “Holy shit. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
“Yeah?” Steve asks rhetorically, and they both watch as he slides the ring onto his fiancé’s finger.
It’s a perfect fit.
