#4 Minutes ep 3

I just watched 4 Minutes episodes 2 and 3 back-to-back...

...and I noticed something interesting about the NC scenes in the first three episodes.

They're not that "sexy". In fact, it feels like they're not supposed to be sexy.

The purpose of these scenes is not to be hot fan service eye candy whatever no the purpose is to further the plot or provide information about characters' personality, mental/emotional state and dynamics between characters.

They're something to analyze and pick apart and base entire theories on, not something pretty to look at.

Idk how to put this but they're filmed and edited in a way that makes me go "oh wow that's a bit much - very fast paced and unsatisfying" and I'm 99% that's exactly what they're trying to evoke.

I mean it was pretty obvious early on that this show wouldn't be for pwp enjoyers or romcom fans but still I find this very interesting from a BL genre standpoint.

So he's reliving his past while he's probably dying due to a heart attack. The great at death's door is somehow changing the circumstances. This is so interesting and confusing. I can't wait to see where it goes.

I don't think Great can actually jump through time, I think everything in this series has already happened and he may be at death's door wanting to re-write all his wrongs.

4 Minutes, Ep 3: Pieces of Plot, Out of Order

I love the way that 4 Minutes doles out information. We only have enough to keep us guessing and we probably have to keep time logs as detailed as Great's to figure it out. Perhaps Great is seeing glimpses of an alternate timeline? That Tyme (lol) is trying to stop?

Win is looking off into the distance, like he knows something we don't. Something about his face is just so arresting. I hope there is fanfic that breaks him.

11:01. How are all his clocks that synchronized? Mine are never all the same time--oh. Oh. Well, a broken clock is right two times a day.

Images that never happened flashing in your mind are very normal, Great, it's fine. Just write fanfic like the rest of us.

Ah, tragic backstory. I'm sure this tragic backstory has nothing to do with the revenge plot.

Investigative reporter lady (Nan)! Personally I would have taken the key off him in the heat of the moment after drugging him, because otherwise this happens. They dragged in Korn to give the order to torture her? Usually they try to keep higher-ups out of these decisions.

Tonkla, sweetheart, what are you doing to yourself? Inhaling burning anything is a bad idea, that's why we have air quality alerts when there are forest fires. I do really like how Win acknowledges right away that the police are corrupt.

They are…very flexible. The music was certainly a choice. Was it meant to be a highbrow contrast to what was happening? I wouldn't have chosen Vivaldi if so.

This makes no sense to me either, Great, but the important part is that you are keeping a time log. Logs are great for mental health literacy.

Korn seems remarkably okay with this conversation, which is at odds with the background music. And the way the camera is going diagonal.
