Let the Joy Bells Ring
Today is the third Sunday of Advent and we should be singing “Go Tell It on the Mountain”! Well, not necessarily from a mountain. That would mean we’d have to go climbing! Perhaps we can start right here at ground zero to be joy-filled and full of the good news of Christ’s coming to this earth for you and me. The pink, third candle on the Advent wreath is lit today. The pink candle symbolizes…

Joy
I don’t normally have cause to travel around Christmas. I am here for the holidays with you! I pray that this holiday season is without winter storms roaring about. When you have to travel in such times, one can be quite happy that the airplane finally got off the ground. Once airborne, you were happy. A new round of happiness came when the pilot finally found smooth air. And even if it was 6…

Reminder that Advent begins November 26th this year, and Christmas doesn’t begin until December 25th (the 12 Days of Christmas last from 12/25 to 1/5, the day before Epiphany)
The only answer to Christmas Creep is a return of the historical Christian liturgical calendar.
EDIT: It’s December 3rd this year since Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday!

Yo! We’re a little late getting organised, but we are excited to announce our holiday event, the KakaIru Advent Calendar Battle 2023!
Since the holidays is a busy period for everyone, and there are fans who don’t create, we decided to make this a non-creation event, which will run from 4th Dec - 31st Jan!
How It Works:
Each week, from Monday, 4th Dec, you will vote on your favourite tropes; and at the end of the week, the bottom three (the ones with the least amount of votes) will be removed from the list.
In the final vote, the trope with the highest amount of votes will be the winner; and the person who nominated the winning trope will receive a fic prize, using the trope they submitted!
Like an advent calendar, there will be 24 tropes to choose from for the main event, so if there are more than 24 nominations, there will be a preliminary round so that everybody gets a chance to compete!
If you want to nominate a trope, and have a chance at winning the prize, you can do so here until Sunday, 3rd Dec!
If you want to participate, but don’t have any ideas, we have provided some in the sign up sheet that you can choose from, if you like!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
We hope you can join us for this event!

Hi. I once sent a really sleep-deprived ask to one of your mutuals about how one would classify the relationship of the father the son and the holy spirit from the christian bible. now im back for you
You said "fascinated by the implication that angels have a mating season" in your tags on this post (https : // www.tumblr.com / guiltiest-gear / 757819319325425664? source=share). Here's when I think it would be with an explanation.
I believe a Christian angel's 'mating season' would begin when Advent starts. Advent begins the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day, so it moves around a bit from year to year (I believe most heat cycles are like this, as are human periods. Maybe the people I know are just malnutritioned though.) As angels are higher beings than humans, we don't need to account for a ~9 month gestational period for any potential offspring. While I am aware that in most pieces of fiction with heat cycles, the creation of life is not typically the main goal after every copulation, I believe angels would be very - and pardon the pun - religious about their traditions. If their heat cycles began on the first day of Advent every year (which for a long-life/immortal species such as angels would probably feel like about once a month), they would then be prepared to produce offspring on Christmas Day proper - the day Christ the Lord was born. Very symbolic. Like racehorses.
I toyed with the idea of angels having a heat cycle earlier/later in the year (in the Christian calendar, Advent is the start of the year, not january), but there aren't actually that many important days in the Christian calendar outside of saints days, and there isn't one particular saint that I feel earns the privilege of having their death day be the time the angels start fucking. I also considered Easter Day, as that is the day Christ rose from the dead, and would symbolize the creation of life just as Christmas day would symbolize that life arriving into the world, but again, angels are higher forms than hhumans, and probably don't need to deal with carrying a life to term, in whatever way that would work for them, for an extended period of time. that would also mean that angels would spend a good 2/3rd of their year "pregnant". No one wants that.
In conclusion uh. I'm sorry.
I gotta tell you anon
This is
This is definitely something
I'm honestly not sure how to react to this

The Promise coming true
This coming Sunday is the 3rd Sunday of Advent known as Guadete Sunday – Rejoice Sunday. Divine joy is the very nature of God – creative; like an overflowing fountain – a fountain fullness. A joy that wants to be shared in wider and wider circles. A joy that asks us to join in the universal shout for joy. The words of the introit of the Mass are the hallmark of Guadette Sunday: “Rejoice in the…
