Telescope 🔭 anon. I saw that ask and wanted to answer before I leave 😂😂😂
Lately I’ve been stalking blushydior’s page to help me navigate how I’m going to live my life bc i don’t know how to be happy and wealthy but she seems to have it down 😂😂 and I’m so obsessed with how I got my desired life by tapping into the void. I’ve been crying non stop tears of happiness since 😇😇
But basically something very bad happened the evening I tapped in. I did not think I will be able to see tomorrow and be okay unless I tapped. I messaged Maya and she told me to try that method and I did. I thought I could not be sad bc that is not living in the end. But Maya/charmed reassured me even being sad and desperate I can still do it and to not repress myself. It was okay to cry and I did. I was crying very very hard, and it felt very good. I have been trying not to because I believe it will slow me down but it is okay to cry if you need to. But I layed down on my back, put in my headphone piece in and just cried. honestly I was done. I just repeated I am I am I am like her method said. After about 5 minutes what I describe to feel like the drop in a roller coaster came. I saw in charmed/mayas post to pretend you’re in space or in water so I did that and it went away. I kept saying I am and then I saw a white light. I was afraid to open my eyes so I let it come to me, and that’s when I was in the void state. I feel this process lasted not too long.
The void feels very safe. It was the happiest I felt since I can remember. I thought I died or so.. which is something I have wanted for a while but I felt the most alive at the same time. I affirmed and left and then my desired and life were already here. Like my old life did not exist though I still remember.
Thank you for responding Omg what a beautiful read 🥹🥹 you’ve motivated me so much and I’m so happy you’re safe and experiencing the best version of your life, as we all should 💗💗
Also thank you for emphasizing that it’s okay to experience human emotions and persist. Being sad or reacting to the 3D will not hinder the fact that your imagination is just as real as your circumstances

The replies were off on the Stolitz post but I HAD to tell you that you are a mega genius with an incredible talent for writing, analyzing and explaining things. I don’t know if that’s a thing you do but I’m a professional journalist so that’s what I do. That doesn’t really mean anything here but oh my god it was so well written I wish all my reviews sounded like that. You are truly big brain. Please never stop analyzing shows like that. Sorry if this was a lot lol. I just haven’t read something so beautifully written in a while 😁 also totally agree, they are so perfect for each other ❤️
This made me cry. Like I screen grabbed and sent this to several people like “LOOKIT WHAT THIS BEAUTIFUL HUMAN SAID”. It kind of prompted a whole reflection spiral, but in a good way. In the BEST way.
By profession I am a software engineer, I build middleware business applications for a largish regional corporation, but because of my writing background I also handle a lot of the documentation: trainings, system requirements, scope etc. Technical writing isn’t as fun as fiction or media analysis but I do think it helped me hone skills in structure, word economy and expository essay style writing. It is a lot of explaining highly technical things to non-technical leadership like VPs and Directors who come with a lot of uninformed opinions which I think translates well to media analysis, lol.
I also can’t stop myself from writing a million words. I think it’s an autism thing? It’s a long running joke with my co-workers that if Stephanie sends you an email it will have everything you need to know and be so well organized and structured it looks like it came from a textbook but you have to set aside 30 minutes to read it. Long post should be a default tag for me 😅.
I’ve written professionally in the past, like received laughable pay for it, but it was freelance copywriting and blogging and I kinda hated it. Writing about vacuums and solar panels and having to squeeze search engine optimized keywords into a certain word count is the kind of soulless drudgery that kills any creative spark you have.
Writing fiction, be it fan fiction or my own personal novels (which tend to be queer romances), is something I do for fun, but because of killer imposter syndrome and that sweet AuADHD brain combo I have a hard time finishing things. I have, no joke, FIVE unfinished novels with more than 40k words each.
Fan fiction is easier because of the dopamine hits from comments and kudos, but personal fiction is hard because it’s just me and the void of my intrusive thoughts.
Media analysis though, I can just sit down and brain dump my thoughts about a thing I love and send it out to the world within an hour and see the lovely or interesting things people say. There is no pressure, if someone doesn’t agree with me they are usually nice about it, sometimes you make good friends or they reply with their amazing perspectives and it’s great. And then you get messages like this.
Messages that kind of blow up your brain and light that fire of “I SHOULD focus on writing more, it’s what I love to do, I’ve done it since I could write, and people who don’t know me or have any investment in my feelings tell me I’m good at it”.
You didn’t know when sending this message but I’ve been restructuring my life a bit lately. I tend to bounce from activity to activity, I’ve done game development, digital and traditional art, violin, comic books, roller derby, 3d modeling, and so many crafts I bought a house specifically because it has a detached workshop to put all my craft shit. But I don’t finish most things, or I get stuck and it’s so frustrating I give up. So I’ve been thinking, that rather than bounce between all these things that I should focus on three areas: fiber arts (which encompass enough things I wouldn’t get bored and could still bounce), roller derby for fitness and my friends, and writing.
This message just hit at the right time, it affirmed some plans I was making, some dreams I have, and hopefully will lead to good things in the future. I know you didn’t ask for all this, no one does with me, but I wanted to give a little background on how simple messages like this can be part of a larger personal introspection and come at just the right time to encourage people to do things they want to do but were too scared to do.
So thank you. It really means so so much.

i own the popsicle mouse, it works computers that have a PS/2 connection (often newer laptops don't ) but the downside to it is that its a trackball-style mouse, not an optical mouse, which means it can lag if the rollers get clogged, or if the surface it's on isn't optimal, and being PS/2 means it's not hot-swappable (you have to reboot after plugging it in for it to be recognized) it's a very lovely novelty item and fun to watch! a bit of caution if the liquid leaks, it can cause paint to chip (it soaked into a mousepad and caused my 3DS' paint to chip)
Thank you for your message, Yeah, I don't think my gaming laptop has a PS/2 connection port unfortunately, so if I do find and buy one of those water mouses.. most likely it would just be a novelty thing to keep. (especially since they can leak) Water mouses are cool on paper and their designs are really funny to look at, I mean, there are so many of fun water mouses.. Crayon, Carebears, Hello Kitty and even a coca cola water mouse!
Honestly, miss opponunity to make the water the same color as Coke and put the little polar man mascot into the mouse but ehh.

Tom Goes to the Mayor #20: “Zoo Trouble” | August 14, 2006 – 12:30AM | S02E11
Here's another one I don't particularly like. In “Zoo Trouble”, Tom is working at Jefferton Zoo, which has seen better days. This is largely due to a competing animal park, which is a 3D/Virtual experience that involves getting shook around in a hanging roller-coaster style apparatus. This park is run by Brian Doyle-Murray, who is one of the best guys going, and maybe better than his brother Bill. Also, there's a Gorilla named Michael Davidson that hasn't come out of it's cave at Tom's Zoo, and this factors into the plot when he finally DOES. He befriends Tom and gives him some sort of advice that I already don't remember what it was. It winds up being a scam perpetrated on Tom for some kind of financial gain by the competing animal park.
Notable moments include: Bob as a cashier, doing basically his Droopy voice from Mr. Show (I think he did him once before in season one and I don’t feel like looking it up to confirm that I’m right). Tom saying “My name is Tom Peters and I'm in Zoo Trouble!” in the opening instead of “My name is Tom Peters and I'm full of ideas”, I'm noting this because other than Brian Doyle-Murray's appearance in this episode it's literally the ONLY THING I REMEMBERED about this episode.
The humor in this one is a tad off; it's zany, and in the DVD commentary they call it Zucker-Bros.-esque. They spend most of the commentary doing an extended bit about Eric going to Universal Studios for lunch. It's funnier than the actual episode. There's a wacky ending where everyone turns out to be each other in disguise, which is fine but overdone in the world of comedy. In a similar vein there's also a Benny Hill spoof sequence, which seems like some sort of rite-of-passage for hip comedy shows. Mr. Show did it. UCB did it. If they did a To Sir With Love riff in this I'd scream.

Shin Chan (August 19, 2006 – 11:30PM)
Okay: I admit that I don't really know that much about Shin-Chan, but I do remember Adult Swim airing it on Saturdays and Weekdays around this time. I remember Sarah Dyer and Evan Dorkin being part of the English dub writing team. So this will not be a deep dive, but what ever is on this blog?
I usually avoid watching second-run stuff too much because my time is... valuable? No. Scarce? Sometimes! Yeah! It's scarce. So, this show is anime which I don't normally cover, but it's also a comedy which I do normally cover. And I remembered so little about this show (which I did watch at least a couple times) that I actually threw on the first episode to check it out last night. I can't say it made me laugh much, but it's alright. The first joke I remember is a kid saying something like “how come you're so rich? Are your parents doctors, lawyers, or jews?” I chuckled at this, but I don't think I laughed again. That's because every joke on the show is basically like this. Kids naming toys they wanna buy and then the last item is “crystal meth”. It's very joke-driven is what I mean. But, if you like it, god bless ya.
MAIL BAG
You've convinced me. I now like "thanks for caring" and will be using it to end all my messages. Thanks for caring.
This is good to see, I’m glad that I’ve tricked you into liking a bad sketch!
I will have to admit, that I had to look this the JJ Pepper sketch up because I didn’t really remember it well. The part where he brags about driving his car to and from the event was so funny, he puts himself in a cartoon racecar, lol. He is so proud of being an adult
Sorry, can’t get the JJ Pepper sketch out of my head. I don’t think anyone would consider that sketch an “all-time great” on the show and certainly not anyone’s favorite Will Forte sketch on that show. They would probably say “Quilting with Will” or “Lazy Horse Mattress”. I personally like JJ Pepper the best because the character is so needy. It doesn’t rely like on any gross-out or shock humor so it should stand the test of time. I dunno. Why don’t you use me for your next event, huh? LOL!
You had an arcade at the pool? That's awesome, but how did wet kids not get zapped by the machines? What were the best games?
There was a country club in my old neighborhood, which wasn’t fancy at all but it did have a big pool and a snack bar and tennis courts and stuff. I think we went there as part of a grade-school graduation thing? Like I remember the end of 6th grade was the whole class going there. Also I went a couple other times as a guest with a family that had a membership. I remember a Mortal Kombat cabinet and one of those NEO GEO cabinets with four different games in the snack bar. Dude honestly it rocked. This is literally the only place I’ve ever been where “adult swim” was ever invoked. It was Northern California and summers were hot as fuck and pools were always easy to come by at friends or neighbor’s houses.

Thoughts on Third Beat..
First of all im not complaining..I just want to know whats inside of the producers head..
So third beats animations is not that ultra hd anymore unlike second beat so im thinking they pushed 3rd season so that it can be animated because many people (mostly international) is expecting 3rd season to be animated even though its low cost animation and also i thought they will never have an opening theme cuz the dialouge per chapters of season 3 is almost an hour so how can they fit in a 20 to 25mins of an anime episode?!.
The opening theme just launched today entitled The POLiCY its not on 3d form like Wish Voyage and Discover the Future..im suspecting they want to make the insert songs extravagant like Sakura message?..or not?..cuz 3rd season has 7 songs in total if im not mistaken.
Actually TBH im not expecting a 3rd season..but when they put it on the last ep of 2nd beat im shocked and happy at the same time but im not that expecting it to be aired on 2021 so yeah the outcome is low cost.but its okay the seiyuus really did well on delivering the emotions of the characters just like seasons 1 and 2.
Also i want to give some warnings to the anime only viewers...THIRD BEAT IS A ROLLER COASTER RIDE if you watched ep 3 and 4 it has a slight physical violence..watch until second cour theres much more and much angst to it that you want to come inside you phones just to kill a character haha..
I hope they make story 5 as soon as possible thats what im waiting for..I want to know who the heck is Zero and why did he suddenly vanish(and also the new manager shhhh..) haha well thats all in my thoughts sorry its too long but please read it if you have time maybe we have the same opinion right?!?
Thanks!

how do i get into dnd when the only knowledge i have of it is from jrwi and i dont have any friends that play/want to play? it seems rly fun but also super complex and id like to play with people i know, but i dont know anyone irl/online who has any interest in it 😔 sry if this is a weird question, you just seem knowledgeable about it!
Don't be sorry, it's not weird! So you have a lot of options actually.
Quarantine sent a lot of people over to roll 20, a website used specifically for DND played online along with other table top RPGs. If you go to reddit you'll also find a plethora of others looking for groups to join or looking for players. As far as learning more about DND goes you have DND beyond (don't bother downloading the app, open the site in Firefox) that can provide you with the basics for free or if you're willing you can pay to down load the books and gain access to a whole bunch of cool stuffs. Mind you it's mostly 5e.
I teach beginners, usually I teach middle schoolers per my little brother's request, regardless I'd be open to teach others if you message me about it we can probably work something out.
Enchanted grounds is a coffee/game shop you can go to as well. They're fairly common I think. Check their website, sometimes they host special days like DND for beginners or mini painting classes. They also sell the books! 10/10 I highly recommend. Or! If you, like me, are a bit tight on funds most of the time and can't always spend 45-60 usd on the new books, 2nd and Charles is a used books and other need things store and I found that they sell their books for closer to the 35-40 usd range. Also 10/10, highly recommended. You can also download PDFs.
Playing online can be difficult. My group uses discord, we avoid roll 20 on accounts that we used to play in my DM's basement complete with 3D maps of our battles and mini's and aren't exactly willing to change too much.
Now then! I'm sorry, dear, this has gotten long. The rules of most DND games vary from DM to dm but generally we all try to stick to the books save for special occasions like you asked us a question mid battle and we want to keep the pace of the game rolling so we're not gonna bother looking it up right that second. Never grow too comfortable with the rules. Some pretty constant ones tend to be:
The DM's word is final.
Don't roll unless told, and ask to make a check (ie. Insight check, investigation check, or persuasion check)
And remember that your actions have consequences.
Jrwi is a good DND podcast, Jared works well with his players, he makes for an excellent DM. Other good dnd podcasts are critical roll, the adventure zone, dungeons and daddy's, high rollers, and another DND podcast. If you enjoy jrwi you might enjoy those and they can give you some better insight on how others play the game.
Some DMs prefer to use the books as guide, we enjoy the ease of pre built towns, NPCs, and Dungeons, puzzels, and plot, and maybe we'll make changes as needed. Other DMs, like most of those in podcasts, make a lot of Homebrew content. Homebrew can be tricky for first timers, there's a lot that goes into it. Homebrew plot, characters, and puzzels are ok. Weapons and combat is a lot of math. So much math.
A lot of DND is just math.
I think I covered everything. So yeah to sum it all up, try reddit and roll 20 for groups, look for books, and have fun!

What Lies Between Us by John Marrs Review & Ramblings
Title: What Lies Between Us
Author: John Marrs
Rating: 3.5/5
Trigger Warnings: non-con drugging, murder, untreated mental illness, forced captivity, ephebophilia, attempted manipulation, disassociation, etc. (I feel like there are a lot of issues that happen, but I’m not too sure if they are triggers, or if they are, how to label them. Read with caution and at own risk)
Summary:
Nina can never forgive Maggie for what she did. And she can never let her leave. They say every house has its secrets, and the house that Maggie and Nina have shared for so long is no different. Except that these secrets are not buried in the past. Every other night, Maggie and Nina have dinner together. When they are finished, Nina helps Maggie back to her room in the attic, and into the heavy chain that keeps her there. Because Maggie has done things to Nina that can’t ever be forgiven, and now she is paying the price. But there are many things about the past that Nina doesn’t know, and Maggie is going to keep it that way—even if it kills her. Because in this house, the truth is more dangerous than lies.
Review
This book was very interesting. I also feel like because I had read this book with a friend, it was a lot more fun and interesting, especially when it came to our discussions. Anyways, let’s get to the review.
I gave this book a 3.5/5 mainly because I was frustrated by the last few chapters of the book. I felt as though it wasn’t satisfying? enough, and I also agree with my friend in that the ending did seem a little too rushed.
However, I will say that the book was very fun to read and there were a lot of interesting elements to think and discuss about (if you were to read this with a friend or friends).
I really enjoyed the aspect of the two main characters, Maggie and Nina. Maggie is the mother and Nina is the daughter. I really liked how neither of them were blameless. Sure, I did root for Maggie more than I did Nina, but both of these characters were flawed. Maggie did what she thought was right, but then, so did Nina.
Throughout the book, as all the secrets are revealed little by little, you will go through a roller coaster of ups and downs - positives and negatives towards the characters.
I recommend this book!! Especially if you are interested in complicated relationships and how decisions and actions can affect people and people around them.
Ramblings
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
This saying is basically the premise of the book. And this is also where it gets complicated. How much blame should Maggie get? Her actions and decisions did kick start a lot of Nina’s actions and whatnot. But then, where does the blame shift to Nina? Because like people say,
It can explain your actions, but it doesn’t excuse them.
I feel like these two sentences are very important to keep in mind while reading the book, ESPECIALLY the second one.
It was a very interesting read because the book starts somewhat black and white: Nina is in the wrong here, and Maggie is the victim. But then that notion starts to, and keeps changing throughout the entirety of the book.
Is Nina justified?
Is Maggie the one to blame?
But then, the answers to those questions are also not as straightforward as one might think.
Personally, yes, Nina might be justified, but only in her anger. Her actions I believe, should not be justified, but I can understand her anger. But then there is also the fact that she is a grown 39-year old woman, yet she acts with a sense of immaturity. But then that immaturity also seems somewhat understandable once you figure out what happened to her in her teen years.
And with the second question, I do think Maggie is to blame, but not for everything. At one point, Nina’s actions can no longer be blamed on Maggie, but must be shouldered by Nina. BUT! BUT THEN! It gets complicated, because could all of Nina’s actions that happened in the present time of the book have been avoided had Maggie gotten her the professional help Nina very clearly needed?
It’s a very complicated situation and I found it very interesting to read and think about myself. I have very minimum knowledge on the psychology of humans, so maybe I’m missing something quite simple. Either way, this was a very interesting book to read.
Now, I’m going to talk about the ending and why it frustrated me. I can get very invested in one character and be very stubborn about either the good or bad points on that character. This book was very fun in that it challenged me on that idea - of course, I’m also trying to stop doing that as characters are very 3D and not this one thing or the opposite.
ANYWAYS
For me, the ending frustrated me, because while I (think) could see the point of what happened, I was very disappointed with how the book finished in terms of with Nina. I get it, she is a woman who needs professional help and I shouldn’t think of her so poorly, but I still wanted like, a harsher punishment for Nina.
To explain, Nina was very delusional throughout the entire book. Some of it might be due to her upbringing courtesy of Maggie, but at the age of 39, I feel like Nina should have been a little more grown up? Also, while some of it might have been due to her upbringing, the rest of it just seems to be due to her delusions and inability to accept reality and logic.
The way the book ended was that Maggie ended up setting the house on fire, committing murder-suicide. She committed suicide but unintentionally committed murder- as she was unaware that her grandson was still alive and also imprisoned in the house. Nina was not in the house, so she ended up losing literally everything - her whole life was basically in that house - her mom, her estranged son, and her memories of her father and basically her whole life.
While I get the message that Nina lost everything she was so obsessed with keeping, I still wanted her to also face reality. I was wanting as well as expecting to see Nina be forced to remember all the murders she’s done and the reasons why and realize that the delusion she was trying so hard to maintain and believe as real is nothing compared the actual reality.
I was also very confused by some of what seemed like plot holes. The biggest plot hole I think is having a minor character who knew everything that happened, yet doing nothing except staring suspiciously at Nina? I thought that character just had a suspicion, not that she knew everything!! Why didn’t she call the cops? Why didn’t Maggie get her daughter the professional help she needed?
Overall
I recommend this book to those who like flawed characters and complicated relationships!! It was a very fun and intense read - even more so with a buddy!

#27 Orlando (Day 1)
For the first time in Blog history, it’s both J-Dawg, and the M-inator writing the same blog!!! We thought if only one person wrote it, it would drive them mental and it the end product, would be very similar to Auschwitz!!!
The alarm was set for 5:50, thus we woke at the crack at of dawn. We got ready and ate breakfast and were ready to go at 6:15am as agreed the previous night. Of course at this time, nobody else was ready. Fun fact, they tease Morgs for eating chocolate all the time, yet they gave Max a large chocolate muffin for breakfast. So off we set at 6:25am to be there at 6:30am to beat some of the crowds. Last night we told them that when we looked it up, it said we needed to be there no later than 90 minutes before the park opens at 7am. Of course there was no way we were gonna be able to get MMM to Hollywood Studios at 5:30am, so we told them that that is what the site said, but let’s try aim for 6:30 instead. They agreed and said it wouldn’t be that busy. Come 6:38am when we get dropped off, its is absolutely packed. Cue shocked faces from the hitler crew.
We rushed into the park, getting our bags checked and Disney cards loaded with our ID’s to get into the park. We then hastily made our way to the entrance of the new Galaxy’s Edge Star Wars World, along with the other 7000 people. We figured out you could join a virtual queue that places you in a group for one of the busier rides, Rise of the Resistance. The queue opened at 7am, so everyone was ready to pounce on their phones at 6:59. J was in charge of doing this and he secured us with group 18, it then said it would notify us when to go board the rides queue. (There were over 130 groups, so this was a score, yay me!).
First ride we did was called The Hollywood Tower, and was eerily similar to Gold Coasts ‘Tower of Terror’, we were unsure what the ride had in store, but before joining the queue, the spooky look of the tower had Max almost in tears, after a tantrum. Also someone kept farting horribly in the line, disgusting. The ride was quite fun and bit creepy, with lots of jumps and falls, but with only a single seatbelt keeping us in our chair, we questioned the safety behind this ride. 6/10.
Ride number 2 was our first Star Wars ride. It was called ‘Star Tours’ and was a 4D ride. It was pretty cool and was based on the most recent Star Wars movie. We were lead on a wild goose choose, by C3-PO and he was actually there with us in person 😉. 6/10.
We got our notification for Rise of the Resistance, and head straight on over for our third ride of the day. We asked how long the queue was, but they refused to give an answer every time, Michelle did not like this at all and whined a lot. The Star Wars world itself was really care and you could tell Disney went all out, and we were thinking the queue would be really cool with lots of Star Wars references in it. For the first 20 minutes it was quite disappointing, with some more feral farts, but then suddenly we were captured by the First Order and it was really funny, because the employees were pretending to be mean and yelling at everyone and insulting everyone, eg. Someone was leaning on the wall in the line and one of the First Order Captains came over and stared at him 10cm away from his face and said “Do you own this wall?” the guy replied laughing, “No...”, the captain replied quickly, “Then why are you touching it?”. It was very funny and everyone couldn't stop laughing. Then the ride actually begun and it was so much fun, it was kind of like transformers, but without the the 3D glasses, the effects were phenomenal and there were no obvious tracks of where we were going. The ride was us escaping a Star Destroyer and away from Kylo Ren. 9/10.
Next was the ‘Rock’n’Roll’ coaster, but before, Morgs and I decided to get a cookie because we were a bit peckish (it’s now 10:30am). As we got to the front of the line and ordered our two cookies, Max suddenly appears, “I want a cookie too”. Too late bucko! Ride was fun, same as the Paris one. 7.5/10.
By this stage Michelle was getting cranky because she hadn't had her coffee yet, so she went and lined up at Starbucks, and sent us two with Max to get a hotdog. The funny thing is, the hot dog stand was where we bought the cookies, right next to the rollercoaster, that we just left. Fuckwit. I took Max and Morgs had a look in Pandora, and bought herself a new ring.
Next was a show!! Beauty and the Beast live! This was fantastically hilarious because of how shocking it was. The only 3 people who had mics could not sing, it was so bizarre. And again! The farts were here again! Is there a pattern forming? Morgs says 0/10. Jasper says 10/10.
Then we went to another show. The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. This was a bit of a yawn and a boy show, surrounded by noisy, crying children. Before the show even started, we could taste yet another fart! If you haven’t caught on, Max has been letting them rip all day. He is without a doubt, the most disgusting creature to ever plague this earth. The show had volunteers from the audience and one was a plant and he started doing stunts and Morgs was shocked, until she figured it out. 3/10. Would have been 1/10 if not for the plant.
Next was lunch! We had booked an Italian restaurant and headed there right after Indiana Jones. The food was pretty good, but I think the highlight was a text that Michelle got, and showed us, when Max went to the toilet by himself. The message read as follows: “Mum are you there? Can I do a number 2, the bathroom is very clean. Respond fast”
Now in the rain we made our way to some shops and did some browsing, then went to Toy Story Land. Max cracked the shits because we didn't wait 35 minutes to go on the kids roller coaster.
Next on the cards was the other new Star Wars ride, The Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Again we had no idea what we were going into, but it was a 55 minute wait, so it must have been good. Max of course hated this idea and threw yet another tantrum, but luckily no more farts. The ride ended up being an interactive almost video game like ride, but still like a 4D ride. It was something else. So much fun, Max and Michelle were piloting, Morgs and I were shooting, and two randoms were the engineers. 9/10.
By this stage we were all shutting down (4pm now), did some more shopping and then Mikko came and collected us and took us home for a rest before dinner at Disney Springs.
Dinner was at a Mexican restaurant which had fantastic guacamole that reminded us of Zambreros ❤️. We played uno and then did a recon at the big shops there for when we purchase on Saturday. 15 minutes into looking at shops, Max cracked it because Mum wasn't letting him buy a $300 replica lightsaber. Since Max cracked...so did Mikko and he decided it was time to leave because he was ready to go now. We took our time in that store, and then Michelle informed them we were still going to Kate Spade, cue angry Fins.
Now back at home on our new couch bed living the high life. Should be better nights sleep on this than the single-double bed.
God bless, and Godspeed.

Wonder Park (2019)
On the upside, Wonder Park isn't riding on some TV show, video game or other pre-established property to appeal to kids. It’s a gentle, colorful and energetic film. Is it anything special? Not really. It's content going through the motions for the most part. Still, the children who see it will be entertained.
June Bailey (voiced by Brianna Denski) and her mother (Jennifer Garner) stretch their creative muscles when they expand the imaginary amusement park Wonderland, a place whose insane rides are maintained by a group of talking animals: boar Greta (Mila Kunis), twin beavers Gus (Kenan Thompson) and Cooper (Ken Jeong), neurotic porcupine Steve (John Oliver), narcoleptic bear Boomer (Ken Hudson Campbell) and monkey Peanut (Norbert Leo Butz). When June’s mother becomes gravely ill and must go away to be treated while dad (Matthew Broderick) sends June to summer camp to keep her mind from the family drama, the young girl runs away, only to stumble into the real-life Wonderland which is now in a state of disarray and overrun by chimpanzombies.
The film has a nice message of nurturing imagination and following your dreams, of teamwork and perseverance. It’s easy for any film on this topic to be wholesome but I’m not going to criticize Wonder Park for this. Not when the final product looks this good. If you’re going to see this animated picture, make sure it's in 3D as there are many scenes where characters fly through the air, the camera dives through roller-coaster loopy-loops, and stuff comes right at ya. The plot moves quickly, keeping the visuals interesting and some of the rides featured are just so crazy you have fun simply watching them.
Although the troubled production (Paramount fired the director due to multiple complaints of inappropriate and unwanted behavior and their name is nowhere to be seen in the credits) might’ve had something to do with the finished quality, you get the feeling Wonder Park just wasn’t put through the ringer during the writing phase enough times to be more than a second-rate animated children’s film. It isn’t bad but this isn’t going to be anyone’s favorite down the line.
Wonder Park (odd name considering the place June goes to is called WonderLAND) is essentially a lesser version of Inside Out, The NeverEnding Story, or even - to a certain extent - The Wizard of Oz. You’ve seen the story before, and better. If your kids are screaming to go see it and you want to take the family out instead of watching a classic (superior as it may be), it’s not so bad. (3D Theatrical version on the big screen, March 16, 2019)

August Media Madness
Well, August may have sucked for me personally, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t keep track of all the media I consumed this month! And spoiler alert, I watched a lot of movies involving adorable talking bears. Although, I have a feeling that as soon as the fall television premieres start, I’ll be watching a lot less movies.
July’s media
Movies!
Dear Evan Hansen
Thank you bootlegs. This isn’t a movie, but I didn’t want to make a separate category for plays when I’ve only seen one this month. Anyway, if you haven’t heard of it, Dear Evan Hansen involves an incredibly anxious teenage boy who is tasked by his therapist to write motivational letters to himself. Unfortunately, Connor Murphy, an angsty boy who goes to Evan’s school sees one of the letters, takes it, and promptly decides to kill himself, with the letter still on his person. Everyone ends up thinking he and Evan were friends and that this letter was a suicide note that Connor wrote to Evan...and a beautiful fake gay relationship friendship was born. Call me basic as hell, but I’ve watched this show twice now, and listened to the soundtrack more times than I can count, and it’s turning into my favorite musical. There are so many important messages in it, and it takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. Every character does good and bad things, and no one is blameless or innocent...except maybe Zoe Murphy. If anything just listen to the soundtrack. 10/10
Night on the Galactic Railroad
Cats...on a mystical train...This seems like the kind of movie they would show you in film school. Very dull plot and characters with the themes being the main takeaway. What even is the plot of this movie? Darker, grittier, furry version of the Polar Express? Incredibly boring slightly more religious version of Over the Garden Wall? I just kept watching it because the main character looks like a cat version of Kagayama Tobio in middle school...cat-gayama. 4/10
Paddington
An adorable bear from South America travels to London and gets into all sorts of trouble with an English family. It’s very charming and sweet, and the aesthetic in this movie is on point, like Wes Anderson directed a children’s movie. This is one of those movies you hear about where everyone loves it, and you think it can’t possibly be that good, but then you watch it and you were wrong! So wrong! 10/10
Paddington 2
Naturally. This time an adorable South American bear goes to prison, and his family tries to clear his name. Again, A+ aesthetic and imagery, but I think I preferred the plot of the first movie a little more because everyone was all together. 9/10
Christopher Robin
Do you like Winnie the Pooh? Do you like jaded adults finding happiness in their lives again? Do you think the movie Hook had a good premise but was extremely long and kinda boring and could have been a better movie with a little tweaking? Well this is the movie for you! Christopher Robin has grown into an overworked adult, and his old friend Winnie the Pooh inadvertently helps him reconnect with his wife and daughter (and also his inner child) just by being the sweet, clumsy, dry humored bear we all know and love. I was so skeptical of this movie at first, and I was absolutely blown away by how funny and meaningful it was. 100/10
The Road to El Dorado
Two lovable Spanish con men named Miguel and Tulio are accidentally swept away on a journey to the fabled city of El Dorado, where everything is made of gold. Once they reach the city, the locals believe they’re gods due to an (un)fortunate series of coincidences, and the con men try to keep up the charade with the help of the best character in the movie, Chel (who I’m pretty sure caused an entire generation of lesbians’ sexual awakening). This is one of my favorite animated movies of all time and one of the reasons I wish Dreamworks would go back to their 2D animation days, where the visuals and music were just as stunning as 3D movies are now. This movie is a classic, and I desperately want a sequel! 10/10
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
When Lara Jean thinks it’s a good idea to write 5 secret love letters to 5 boys that she’s had crushes on over the years, everything is fine until her little sister mails the letters to all the boys (because even a 6th grader knows Lara Jean is lonely and emotionally stunted as fuck). This is a Netflix original movie that was adapted from the book by Jenny Han...which I haven’t read, but now I really want to. Overall, this was super cute, but I wasn’t really crazy about the boys. They weren’t horrible people or anything, and they never pressured Lara Jean or made fun of her for being “innocent”, but they were just kind of bland. I’m much more interested in the other boys we didn’t see in the movie! But the family relationships were so heartfelt, Lara Jean’s fashion sense is AMAZING, and the acting/casting was awesome. 8/10
Summer Wars
I...don’t even know how to describe the plot of this one. A teenage boy named Kenji goes on a country holiday and pretends to date an acquaintance of his in order to impress her enormous family...but it’s really about an AI that becomes sentient and wants to mess up the world through this universal internet program called OZ that’s kind of like a mashup of Facebook and Second Life...but actually no it’s about family sticking together and using a Japanese card game to save the world…but apparently it’s got the same plot as the Digimon movie because they’re both directed by Mamoru Hosoda. Yeah...
Guys, I have a confession to make...this has always been my favorite Mamoru Hosoda movie. Everyone falls all over themselves saying Wolf Children is the best Mamoru Hosoda movie, and that’s great for them but it doesn’t even come in second for me. Summer Wars means a lot more to me personally because I come from a big extended family, and when I first saw this movie, I was blown away by how accurate the family dynamic was. There are so many characters, but everyone has their own personality. Not to mention the music makes the summer atmosphere so on point. And I’m not going to lie...I bawled like a fucking baby the first time I saw this movie. So anyway, I like Summer Wars more than Wolf Children, thanks for coming to my TED talk. 10/10
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Unappreciated researcher Milo Thatch goes on an expedition to find the lost city of Atlantis.
Okay, there are two kinds of Disney fans in this world: Treasure Planet fans, and Atlantis fans. And I will support Treasure Planet as the best underrated vaguely steampunk inspired Disney movie until you can pry my 15 year old dvd copy away from my cold dead hands. But Atlantis is pretty good too. I could write essays comparing the two and why both of them should be successful but weren’t. My main problem with it is that the characters are great, but I feel like we don’t see enough of them, and as a kid a lot of the humor went by so fast that I completely missed it. Also the glowing eyes and spirits taking over the Atlantian princess’s body freaked me the fuck out as a child. NEVERTHELESS! This really is a great movie, with extremely well developed lore and well designed characters that chills me to this day. 8/10
Deadpool 2
The merc with a mouth is back, and man there’s so much going on in this movie I won’t even try to explain the plot. I literally had to go back and add this in because I was so into this movie when I was watching it that I forgot to write it down! Even though I really liked this sequel, I think I liked the first one better, just based on how much I laughed. There was so much going on plot wise, but it really seemed to work for this movie. There were also a lot of great new characters (Domino is my favorite character of the franchise now), but since there was so much stuff going on, a lot of jokes and plot lines were sort of hit and miss. Anyway, I’m sure everyone’s seen this one by now but just in case, I highly recommend it. 9/10
Books!
The Adventure Zone Graphic Novel: Here There be Gerblins by Clint McElroy (technically all the McElboys) and Carey Pietsch
Yeah yeah, for anyone who doesn’t know I’m Adventure Zone trash okay. TAZ is a DnD podcast where 3 brothers and their father create one of the most famous campaigns in history involving three idiot adventurers going on a quest to find a missing person and getting sucked into a much larger grand plan to protect the world. This graphic novel is a visualization of the first arc. I don’t even really like Here There be Gerblins all that much, and yet here I am. Oh well, the art was amazing, and of course I already knew the story. But it was kind of hilarious to see the name changes they had to make to some of the characters and places. I was a little disappointed that the ending was so rushed, and we don’t really spend time around the moon base before The Director is in our face changing the Lunar Interlude parts but whatever. 10 dead gerblins/10
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
When a disease that only affects children kills off nearly all the kids on the planet, the survivors are left with supernatural powers and are taken away to concentration camps in order to “protect” the public. I’ve been wanting to read this for a long time, and since the movie just came out I thought it was the perfect time. This is one of those books that some people adore and some people hate. I thought it was just okay. For everything that I didn’t like, there was something to make up for it. Personally, I felt that Bracken focused on the wrong part of the story. Everything takes place years after this disease has come, and I think it would have been more interesting to see everything from the children’s points of view when this disease was first starting. I would focus on each different character as a child and how they wound up in their respective camps. Oh well, there’s way too many pros and cons that I could delve into, but you like the YA dystopian genre then I say go for it. I didn’t like it enough to read the other two books (not yet anyway). 7/10
TV Shows!
Camp Camp
You know how there are summer camps that specialize in science, or acting, or space, or whatever? Yeah Camp Camp is about a summer camp that throws literally everything you can think of into one summer camp. If you don’t believe me, just listen to the theme song. Seriously though this is one of the best shows I’ve watched all year, but boy howdy this is not one for young children. It’s like Gravity Falls and Rick and Morty had a baby! Anyway, the characters are both surprising and hilarious. David the camp counselor (voiced by Miles Luna) is genuinely likable when you think he’d be the most annoying person on the planet, and the kids are so accurate it’s scary. Also Yuri Lowenthal is in it. And Griffin McElroy has a recurring role where he plays A GHOST! I’ve never been into Rooster Teeth stuff, but they have a winner with this one. 10/10
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
After her husband leaves her, Midge Maisel gets super drunk, goes on stage, and gives a hilarious rant about her relationship at a small comedy/talent club and somehow gets sucked into becoming a rising comedian as a woman in the 1950s. It’s good. Great acting pretty funny, but Midge and her agent/manager Susie are the only likable characters. Everyone else just kind of...sucks 8/10
Voltron Season 7 (spoilers)
Okay, I know everyone had mixed feelings about this season, but I did come out liking a lot of it. It had a lot of flaws (I really thought it would be Shiro’s season, and man was I wrong), but this is the sort of thing we can’t really judge until the last episode of the series is finished. I like to think of the positives: the action was amazing as usual, HUNK IS GETTING MORE AND MORE DEVELOPMENT EVERY SEASON, I refuse to believe the team introduced Adam just to have him killed off immediately so he’s still alive in my mind, we get to see everyone’s reunions with their families, the lost in space episode was cool, and say what you want about the game show episode, but I loved it! There were a lot of good things so it was easier for me to look past the...not so great aspects of the season. 7/10
Galavant
A musical comedy mini series involving a renowned medieval hero named Galavant on a quest to rescue his ex girlfriend from her “evil” husband King Richard. But maybe she doesn’t want to be rescued. Well, that’s just the first season. It’s best to go in knowing as little as possible. I remember liking it when it first came out, and it’s still pretty cute...but sometimes I feel like it’s trying too hard. A lot of the music isn’t really...memorable, but the characters are likable so it’s still worth the watch. 8/10
Disenchantment
Speaking of medieval comedies...Princess Bean doesn’t want to get married, mystical elf Elfo doesn’t want to live in an enchanted forest where everyone is happy all the time, and Bean’s personal demon Luci just wants to watch people suffer. Honestly, I wasn’t very into this show at first, but something compelled me to just keep watching, and by the end I was totally into it! This is one of those shows where you think there isn’t going to be a plot, but then the last few episodes come up and smack you in the face! 7.5/10
Round Planet
A documentary parody...mockumentary...satire...That’s really not a great way to describe it. It’s a nature documentary with funny commentary. I like nature shots and animals so I liked it, but there’s a lot of tangents and running jokes and British references that sometimes don’t land. Oh well, if you like unconventional documentaries, just watch it. 8/10
Honorable Mentions
DnDnD: I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this podcast before, but there’s a DnD podcast made by Practical Folks (aka the Drunk Disney youtube channel). It’s pretty good! I want an Adventure Zone crossover now!
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Every time I think I’m out, it pulls me back in. I finally got the DLC and spent most of this month playing this freaking game AGAIN!
The Heathers soundtrack: I finally listened to the Heathers musical soundtrack...and I didn’t love it. There are some good songs in it, but overall I’m unimpressed. And I never could really get into the plot, I’ve always thought it was really weird and over dramatic.
Legendary by Stephanie Garber: I’m about halfway through this book, which is the second in the Caraval series. And it’s pretty good! More on that next month.

First Impression Business Branding Ideas for Facilities and Offices
We all know first impressions matter. That’s why we make sure there’s nothing in our teeth before a meeting, why we keep lint rollers in our car, and maintain diligent eye contact. Doing these things make sure we’re presenting the best version of ourselves to our customers, employees, and co-workers. But what about the office or facility you work in? What about the physical building you and your customers visit everyday? What kind of first impression is being made there?
At Sunrise Signs, we're experts at branding facilities, offices, and buildings. Whether it's a total building makeover or adding professional touches to internal spaces, we've got you covered. Here we'd like to take a look at a few different options you have when comes to branding your facility or office.
"Hey, That's Us!"
Wall Graphics
Inspiration Ideas: Company Logos, Mission Statements, Core Values, Room Labeling, Corporate Culture, Accent/Color pieces
Wall Graphics offer you a huge amount of flexibility when it comes to internally branding your facility. Typically consisting of cut lettering and custom shaped logos and images, these branding elements can be applied on almost any wall or space.
"What's your company about? Tell them with wall graphics"
You’ve also got material flexibility as well - wall graphics are digitally printed and lettering has an option to be custom cut out of specialty vinyls like Gold Leaf or Brushed Silver. This gives you the most options when curating your corporate brand. Our team of professional installation experts will ensure that your new wall graphics are applied on the level and to maximize the lifespan of the material.
"One Company, One Message"
Privacy Film
Inspiration Ideas: Office privacy, room labels, window tagging, culture branding
Privacy film is a special-use vinyl that creates a “frosted glass” look, without the cost and window damage associated with typical sandblasting or acid etching frosting techniques. This film simply applies over glass and can be custom cut and shaped, allowing for names, simple logos, and images to be created out of the film.
"The gears of creativity, always turning"
Since its application is adhesive, privacy film can be safely removed from the glass without any permanent damage. This is a great tool for creating subtly professional designs, providing privacy, and even adding visibility to glass doors and windows that may get bumped into.
"Privacy and Professionalism in one Package"
Wall Murals
Inspiration Ideas: Employee Celebration, Corporate Values, Company History, Office Culture Branding, Lobby Impressions
One of most powerful internal branding statements you can make is with a wall mural. This is the branding that makes people stop and say, “Whoa”.
"Whoa"
This is branding that defines a workspace, something sticks with your visitors, customers, and employees. They take it home with them because wall murals make big statements and leave lasting impressions. These are big projects with big impacts, and we’ll be there every step of the way.
"We are OTIS, we are Philly"
Great internal branding comes from great consultative design. A consultative design process should start first and foremost with your branding goals, which is why we start every branding project with a thorough discussion about the needs, wants, and objectives your looking to achieve. By approaching design this way, the ambitions of your company's brand becomes the guiding hand that leads the creative process.
"Mixed Media Timeline Display: Wall Mural, Cut Acrylics, Digitally Printed Vinyl, Expert Install"
Internal Displays
Inspiration Ideas: Lobby Logos, Company Information, Timelines, Corporate Branding
Internal displays are the tools that allow your facility or office to speak with confident professionalism. Internal displays can be many things - 3D lettering, Custom Formed Logos, Stand-Off panels, or just about any kind of wall mounted display. Internal displays are great for creating professional statements in office lobbies, common spaces, and visitor areas. While there’s an almost endless amount of internal display types, we’ll take a look at the two most popular kinds here.
"Mounted on running wire, these displays spark and encourage interaction"
3D Lettering
3D Lettering provides a great opportunity to display your company’s brand in bold and impactful ways. Letters can be made from a range of materials like formed plastics, weather resistant foams, brushed laminates, and even solid cut metal.
"Brushed metal lettering, digitally printed graphics, precision cut vinyl"
These pieces can either be natural material, painted, or applied with vinyl to incorporate custom logos and brand elements. You can call the shots with assurance, knowing we can handle every step of the process from design, fabrication, and installation.
"3D Pin-Set Letters on a custom cut stone background, mounted on conference room wall"
Stand-Off Displays
Stand-Off displays are great conversation pieces that identify your branding, highlight the history of your business or provide more information about your services and products. These displays consist of a base material (like polycarbonate, glass, or wood) which is then projected off the wall using spacers or wire line placed around the edges of the material.
"Some assembly required: 1/2" Stand-Offs + Aluminum Back Plate + Polycarb Base + Reverse Cut Polycarb Logo + Cut Acrylic Lettering + Halo Lighting = One Unforgettable Sign!"
You can choose from multiple materials and effects (like halo lighting) to make your stand-off display a unique and memorable piece of your business environment. We'll then prepare and finalize these signs at our facility to guarantee a powerful and professional product. Our installation team takes special care to make sure these signs are securely installed and mounted to ensure a long life full of powerful impressions.
"18 Total Pieces make up this 3 Layered Sign"
Exterior Signs & Displays
Inspiration Ideas: Entrance Signs, Building Lettering, Window Graphics, Facility Wayfinding + Identification, Illuminated Signs
Before you “wow” your visitors and employees with your great new internal branding, you need to set the tone with some powerful outside displays. These are the pieces that define your building and set your branding tone. Are you located in an office park? Are your visitors and customers easily able to identify your building? Do they know where they’re going? What kind of first impression do they get when they approach your doors? These are all questions that outside displays answer.
"Welcome to Pathfinder, You Won't Be Forgetting Us"
Examples include dimensional building lettering, window graphics, illuminated signage, placards, and impressive monument signs. For your windowed areas, we offer digitally printed cut vinyls as well as one-way perforated privacy films.
"Weatherproof Aluminum Brushed Letters Mounted Directly Into Brick"
It's important to approach these projects with a keen eye to design and installation, making sure that your building’s outdoor branding is properly scaled and installed to garner the most impact for your business. To make these projects as easy as possible for you, we can also handle any engineering and municipal permits that are needed to create these powerful showpieces.
"Make your mark, build your brand"
Just the Start
Now that you've seen what's out there - does your facility or office hold up? This is just a drop in the bucket compared to all the great indoor and outdoor branding solutions we at Sunrise Signs can offer you. Have artwork of your own? Great! Let’s turn it into a reality. Batman Vol 1 (1940) 361
We start this issue with Bruce blaming Jason’s capture on his stubborness in trying to be Robin and I have to say… yes, he was really, really stubbornly trying to become Robin, but that was not why he attacked Man-Bat, you idiot. It was because he was genuinely worried about his new father.
Later, as Man-Bat finally goes to sleep, Jason wonders whether trying to become Robin was a bad idea for about half a second, before deciding that he will not give up and he might as well try to escape from the giant, murderous monster with the superhumanly strong grip… in literally the loudest, most attention-calling way possible. Oh Jay… Also, he’s a terrible liar. Emotional Roller Coasting: 4 In For A Penny: 3
It’s at this point that Kirk gets the idea of making Jason his new ersatz-child and honestly it’s disturbing as hell. Eek! Two police officers who heard the bell ring try to intervene, but Man-Bat flies off with Jason.
Gordon investigates the scene and once Batman confirms that it was really Man-Bat, he decides to pay Kirk’s wife and daughter (who is very much alive!) a visit and tells Gordon to call ahead. Which translates to Batman stepping out of the shadows literal seconds after Francine Langstrom hangs up the phone. That is NOT how calling ahead works. Francine tells him about the museum exhibit about bat roosts that Kirk had been working on and agrees to help any way she can, while Kirk continues being creepy. The fact that he has duct-taped Jason’s mouth shut and wants to turn him into a Man-Bat too does NOT help.
Man-Bat goes to collect more gland extract from the bats at the Batcave and Alfred spots him for a fraction of a second, but blames that on exhaustion and the thunderstorm. Bruce asks Vicki Vale for a favor (at 3am) and then goes to the museum where he is attacked by Kirk. After he injures Bruce and throws him into a fountain, Kirk returns to his roost, convinced that Batman is dead. He tells Jason about what happened and Jason’s first reaction is blaming himself for failing Batman.
Bruce investigates Kirk’s office and finds out that he’s got a hidden cave in the basement. He crafts a fake Francine and Rebecca out of photo blowups Vicki provided and a recorded message from Francine, but Kirk refuses to fall for it and starts fighting Bruce again. Jason quickly realizes that Batman is hurt and uses a broken window pane to cut the ropes he’s tied up in. Considering what a bad idea the first time attacking Kirk had been, you gotta give Jason A for Guts for trying it again. Improv Master: 2 8
Eventually, Bruce does manage to inject Kirk with the antidote that will cure his condition (and erase most of his memories). Jason promptly uses the fact that he helped take down Man-Bat to lobby for becoming Robin once more. Gotta say this: he is persistent. The next morning, we learn that Bruce is still not making Jason Robin (and Jay’s not happy about it), but at least they’re still going to the movies. Jason wants to watch some 3D science fiction.
