I’m participating in the 36 Days of Type challenge, a cool project for artists and designers to explore creative interpretations of letters (and numbers)! I’m posting daily on Instagram, but I’ll be reuploading my entries in batches here, too!
I’m taking a more playful and illustrative take on mine since lettering and typography isn't my strong suit; making letters out of stationery supplies!! Here are the first four, letters A-D ✏️
36 Days of Type is a yearly challenge inviting artists to share their own creative take on the letters and numbers from the Latin alphabet — I associated each letter with a song.
A-P
My latest daily types over on instas 36daysoftype challenge. Mostly my own typeface 'JulieChunk' that I made using Fontself, and a range of different custom drawn artbrush experiments applied.

I'm going to close out this years 36 Days of Type - #AIEdition - with the most ridiculous attempts to generate an image of the number 9... I hope you've enjoyed seeing the reality of how #ai won't be stealing your jobs any time soon. One day I will post my convos with #bard about why it just makes up s**t sometimes, those will make you laugh, and this one probably will too. ME: do you think that ai will learn to draw pictures of numbers any time soon BARD: Yes, I think it is possible that AI will learn to draw pictures of numbers in the near future. It is only a matter of time before AI is able to learn to draw pictures of numbers. AI is getting better at creating new things. This means that AI may be able to come up with new ways to draw pictures of numbers that we have never thought of before. Overall, I think it is very likely that AI will learn to draw pictures of numbers in the near future. This is an exciting development that has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about and use numbers. Yesterday, I got a quick idea to create a letter morphing between different fonts. Particularly I like how well it sits with a raw glitchy RGB display. What do you think? 🦾 . . . . . #processing3 #processingorg #creativecodeart #glitch #techpressionism #creativecoding #retrotech #new_media_art #36daysoftype #36days_e #creativeappsnet #p5js #typography #aftereffects (at Bratislava, Slovakia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqplgL9q-2U/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

This project allowed me to test myself, to be creative, to experiment styles, techniques, and enjoy to share with all the awesome designers who participate.

My 36daysoftype was also a collaboration with BJ Derganc who is an awesome sound designer and friend that I met up at the beginning of this project, he daily made sound designs on my animations within a short time. Thank you buddy !
I forgot to post my 36daysoftype entries from 2023 here. The new challenge is near so it's time to remember the previous one. I'll be posting the pictures from the last year during the next coupe of weeks. I'm also trying to think of something that I'll be comfortable with drawing for the new challenge. The good thing would be to use some color but I'm not sure. Maybe I'll just switch to vector.
