how do u make hq drawings while still being recognized as pixel art? Cuz when I have the canvas size big (eg 3000x3000px) it doesnt really look like pixel art, just a normal drawing that looks weirdly pixelated idk if u know what I am trying to say

maybe its a program thing? I use aseprite

i dont use canvas that big really, thats why i think. after im done on my 200x200 art i make it bigger to post it, so you can see the pixels better

also its about display, if you make something with a bigger canvas than the size it gets displayed on tumblr, some information has to be lost in the image somewhere. which is extra yucky for pixelart

some places like pixeljoint appreciate very large scale pixelart which you submit at the 1x

Hello-

Is there a way I can get a copy or print or sticker of the black and orange rabbits. We recently lost our Florida rabbit, who was orange in color named Ginger. She was bonded to Shadow, our black Rex. The pictures reminds me so much of the two of them lounging and hanging out together.

Hey no problem, I'm glad you like my drawings! As for a physical item, I think maybe it's best you print it yourself. I live in a place where international shipping is crazy pricey and I don't really want to support redbubble.

Anyway, all my images are posted at 3000x3000px at 300dpi so they should be no problem for print. Best I can do for you is post a version without a BG for you under the read more.

This kinda goes for anyone too, I'm fine if you print it for personal use I only take issue if you're doing it for profit. I'm unemployed as it is man! I have a donation link in my bio if you'd like to support me though, its hard out here for an animator haha.

you caught me right before i got ready for bed!

i use srwe :) and i blow my game up to about 3000x3000px and then take my pics using gshade. then i use photoshop to do some light editing and voila~

if your computer can handle it i totally recommend srwe! it was a game changer for me <3

ough going through art from about 2 yrs ago and i said soemthing along the lines of "i usually fill up a canvas (3000x3000px) every other day, but there's a whole week between these two files!" like bro take me back!!

so, having filled entire 3000x3000px canvas with little doodles of shadow (and werehog sonic) since 30/12 I figured I can drop the whole thing instead of cropping every single piece.

The reason why it's pixel-looking is because, well, in Paint I tend to draw at a fairly low resolution. No idea if it's because I use a mouse or what, but it's nice. Anyway, even when pasted into photoshop it was just somehow already the perfect size! Underestimated the outline on it though, will probably fix that later maybe. Not sure how hard it'd actually be..

yeah i assumed you made it using paint. but there’s actually a trick i used to get some clean anti-aliasing!

see this icon? i made it back in dec 2021, and all you need to get anti-aliasing is find an image editing software which lets you zoom an image while interpolating it (in my case, “ibisPaint X” on mobile, but “Photoshop” should work in your case)

first draw the image larger than your intended final size (which i drew ACTUALLY using pixels), and then shrink the icon down. you could’ve guessed that before i told you but it actually works! here’s an in-between step before my final icon (you can see the 1px-wide red lines i used to position the icon to its final position)

for reference, this went from a 3000x3000px image to a 512x512px icon.

I usually use a 3000x3000px canvas and then crop as necessary for each individual piece. Icons, however, are done on a 1000x1000px canvas, so that they'll still look good when downscaled to the size of a profile picture
