Hi, I’m completely obsessed with your art style, especially your sketches, so I was wondering what brush you use for them? I also use csp so I thought I’d ask :]

oh my god I have so many... a lot of them I've made, which you can download here! The ones I use most often are "tilt pen chisel", "sharp pen", "sharp pen bubbles", and "shading brush pen"

I have a lot downloaded from assets or imported from photoshop. some of my favorites include:

Graffiti A - I just got this one and haven't posted anything using it yet but I really like it. it does cost 20 clippy but the past couple years CSP has done a daily login bonus thing where they give you clippy points for free. I have 1,720 left that are about to expire soon OOP

Freehand Style Brush Set - I LOVE THESE. There's one from this set I slightly modified and have been using a lot lately. I used it for my icon, my business cards, and the splash drawing on my website.

@meruz 's brush set - these have some really nice texture to em

the true grit texture supply free sampler pack - just downloaded these and used it in my icon drawing, I can tell I'll be using it a LOT

I have a lottttt more that I download from assets, but I don't use a lot of them.

And for reference, my go-to canvas size is 3000x3000px 300dpi. My brushes are made to be used at this size range and they may not look the same if you work much larger/smaller. I also like my brushes to not have any anti-aliasing. it helps because 1) tumblr compresses everything anyway, and I like my lines CRISPY CRUNCHY 2) when I lasso + transform something, I can set the interpolation method to "hard edges" and it doesn't make it blurry:

Hello-

Is there a way I can get a copy or print or sticker of the black and orange rabbits. We recently lost our Florida rabbit, who was orange in color named Ginger. She was bonded to Shadow, our black Rex. The pictures reminds me so much of the two of them lounging and hanging out together.

Hey no problem, I'm glad you like my drawings! As for a physical item, I think maybe it's best you print it yourself. I live in a place where international shipping is crazy pricey and I don't really want to support redbubble.

Anyway, all my images are posted at 3000x3000px at 300dpi so they should be no problem for print. Best I can do for you is post a version without a BG for you under the read more.

This kinda goes for anyone too, I'm fine if you print it for personal use I only take issue if you're doing it for profit. I'm unemployed as it is man! I have a donation link in my bio if you'd like to support me though, its hard out here for an animator haha.

you caught me right before i got ready for bed!

i use srwe :) and i blow my game up to about 3000x3000px and then take my pics using gshade. then i use photoshop to do some light editing and voila~

if your computer can handle it i totally recommend srwe! it was a game changer for me <3

To the anon asking about image post resolutions, tumblr will automatically resize photos that are too big. I don’t know the exact numbers, but a quick google search will bring up the info needed to keep images crisp

(I am also curious about your usual canvas size and dpi)

my canvas sizes are at the smallest around 3000x3000px to a little over 5000x5000 at the biggest (this is the size I start off w too). I usually resize them to balance the empty space of the bg and centering things while I'm drawing. if canvases end up in the 6-7000s I tend to shrink em to be about 4000x4000

What canvas size, settings, brush size, and brush textures do you normally use?👀 Tell me all your secrets🥰

My default canvas size is usually 2000x2000px or 3000x3000px! Brush size varies a ton depending on what brush I’m using - I’ve been using this pencil brush lately for both sketching & final lineart, & it’s usually set around 1-3px with 0.1 or 0.2 particle size. I mainly use lasso+fill for flats and default airbrush for shading, and I use a lot of overlays for things like fabric textures. I’m also a big fan of borderline transparent(usually <15% opacity) gradient maps & noise brushes/overlays.

The reason why it's pixel-looking is because, well, in Paint I tend to draw at a fairly low resolution. No idea if it's because I use a mouse or what, but it's nice. Anyway, even when pasted into photoshop it was just somehow already the perfect size! Underestimated the outline on it though, will probably fix that later maybe. Not sure how hard it'd actually be..

yeah i assumed you made it using paint. but there’s actually a trick i used to get some clean anti-aliasing!

see this icon? i made it back in dec 2021, and all you need to get anti-aliasing is find an image editing software which lets you zoom an image while interpolating it (in my case, “ibisPaint X” on mobile, but “Photoshop” should work in your case)

first draw the image larger than your intended final size (which i drew ACTUALLY using pixels), and then shrink the icon down. you could’ve guessed that before i told you but it actually works! here’s an in-between step before my final icon (you can see the 1px-wide red lines i used to position the icon to its final position)

for reference, this went from a 3000x3000px image to a 512x512px icon.

Huevember 2022 days 22-23. Self-care dragon reminds you to drink water.

I'm falling behind on the Huevember challenge, so I'm reusing the same drawing for 2 different days, with just the background changed to each day's challenge color. All to save time.

My sister told me in a message that I should design more dragon stickers, but ones that say "drink water". Used an Asian dragon since they are more associated with water and can breath mist/water in mythology/folklore.

11/24/2022. Sketched in Platinum Preppy fountain pen, using Noodler's Ink. Scanned for finishing in Krita. . 11/24/2022. Practicing learning digital drawing and Krita. Started with 3000x3000px canvas, 300dpi, CMYK color mode. Used color picker on a Huevember 2020 reference chart of each day’s challenge color to get #61BDCA for Huevember day 22 and #5CB69E for Huevember day 23. Used some parts that I already drew on Huevember day 21's Krita drawing, drawn with Stabilized freehand brushstrokes. Still using my cheap, wide-tipped, capacitive stylus, since my active stylus is out of batteries and my mouse is inconvenient to dig out. Drew new parts with Krita's Freehand Path tool, modified with Select Shapes tool and Edit Shapes tool. Then tried different colors with Krita's HSV/HSL Adjustment. . Converted from CMYK mode, to RGB mode. I'm keeping the CMYK versions for when I need to print stickers. But until then, I'd like to post the RGB versions online, since they look better. After isolating subjects/text away from the background and converting image to RGB, I colored the background with the RGB versions of Huevember days 22-23's colors. Then adjusted Color Balance of the subjects/text, and changed the text to white (instead of pale blue). . CMYK: day 22 = #61bdca CMYK: day 23 = #5cb69e . RGB: day 22 = #01d9e4 RGB: day 23 = #01cfa1
