love confessions in line
Another stupid little thing because I’m in the car and bored. It’s not edited or really anything much beyond just putting these boys in love in situations.
Rated t | tags: love confessions, established relationship, robin being so fed up with them
————————
“Why do we have to be here so early? My dinner hasn’t even digested properly yet,” Robin complained.
And, okay. It was cold and there were a lot of people standing in line outside of the only Walmart carrying the very specific guitar amp Eddie wanted. He’d called every Walmart in Indiana. Multiple times.
But he had to go all out for Christmas this year. Eddie had already said he’d gotten Steve something he’ll never outdo, never even believe. Obviously, that meant Steve had to do better than the Metallica hoodie that was stashed in his closet for the last four months.
“It’ll be worth it. There’s hardly anyone in line ahead of us and if we go straight to the electronics in the back—“
“You mean where everyone is going?” Robin interrupted, folding her arms across her chest.
Steve sighed.
“Yeah, well. I’ll run. It’ll be fine. I doubt anyone else here is interested in a guitar amp.”
As if the words ‘guitar amp’ were magic, someone who looked a lot like Eddie walked up to one of the security officers standing by the front doors.
Robin noticed at the same time as him.
“Is that…?”
“It can’t be. He said he was going fishing with Wayne in the morning and didn’t wanna end up stuck in crowds shopping,” Steve said.
But then the man turned back to the line.
“Steve?” Eddie yelled, eyes going wide when he realized Steve and Robin were there.
“Uh.”
“Um.”
“I thought you guys were going to Indy for this!” Eddie smiled as he walked up to them. “I don’t think this store will have what you’re lookin’ for.”
Steve panicked. There’s only one thing Eddie could be here for. He could go anywhere else. He could have stayed in Hawkins for that matter.
“Uh. Just wanted a change of scenery.”
Eddie’s brows furrowed as his smile fell slightly.
“O…kay. Well, I’ve got an amp to buy so I guess we’re all in this together now.”
Steve ignored Robin’s snort and mumbling.
Eddie glanced over at her with a questioning face.
“You two are unbelievable. Truly.”
“What? Why?” Eddie asked, genuinely curious.
His finger traced along the back of Steve’s hand subtly, out of sight of the people behind them in line.
“I.” Steve sighed.
Oh well. Maybe he could just try to get concert tickets the next time Ozzy came to Chicago.
“I was gonna get the amp for you for Christmas. I’ve been planning it for weeks,” Steve said, looking down at the ground.
Eddie was surprisingly quiet.
Absolutely no response.
After a full minute, Steve made eye contact with him.
He had tears building in his eyes and Steve felt himself start to tear up, too.
“You were?” Eddie choked out. “But this is-“
“The only place selling it on sale in the state, yeah.”
Robin was grumbling to herself again, but neither of them were paying attention anymore.
“How did you even know?” Eddie asked after a deep, calming breath.
“You mentioned it last month after a gig. Said you needed a new one anyways and this was top of the line or something. That a lot of the bands you like were switching to this kind for studio recording or whatever because of the…crisp? Sound? And then when no one else was selling it at all, I had to call around the Walmarts to see who had it on sale because $300 is a lot of money, Eds, and I wish I could afford that, but I don’t really have that lying around after paying for school and rent so when this place finally said they’d have it for $100, I made Robin promise to come with me since you’d be busy. And I guess you’re not that busy, but. I needed to do my best to get it.”
Eddie’s smile grew the longer Steve rambled. Robin was already walking away, probably back to Steve’s car, halfway through his speech.
“I love you.”
Steve’s jaw dropped in shock.
They’d been saying it in every way except this way for months, nearly a year, really.
It started as Steve taking care of Eddie when everyone else was busy taking care of the Upside Down.
It kept going as Steve was the one listening to Eddie slowly pick the guitar back up, working through the crying about his fingers not working right or his arm getting tired too quickly.
And then five months ago, Steve kissed him.
Took the plunge and kissed him.
They’d done everything together since. They’d become boyfriends. They came out to their group, together, always together.
And now, in a Walmart parking lot during the busiest shopping day of the year, Eddie was telling Steve he loved him.
“Because of the amp?” Steve asked, hesitant.
Eddie knew what he was really asking.
Because I’m buying you something nice?
“No, sweetheart. Because you listen to me. You know what makes me happy. You’re doing something for me that no one else would have even bothered to try to do.” Eddie laughed. “I have never wanted to kiss you as much as I want to right now.”
“Not even that time I wore a crop top and your boxers?”
Eddie groaned. “That was an outlier. You know how that affected me.”
“Oh, I sure do,” Steve smirked. “Too bad we’re in public.”
“The doors open in an hour right?” Eddie asked, checking his watch.
“Yep.”
“And then you have to take Robin to her parent’s house?”
“Probably should.”
“And then what?” Eddie asked, already knowing exactly what.
“And then I’ll come to the trailer and I’ll walk right to your room and hopefully-“ Steve cut himself off to whisper the next part. “You’ll be naked.”
Eddie’s brows raised. “You want me naked? What about Wayne being home?”
“Wayne’s been sleeping with ear plugs for months now. Can’t hear a thing,” Steve pats Eddie’s blushing cheek. “Said he didn’t need to hear what his nephew got up to.”
“We really should just move my stuff into your new place,” Eddie suggested for the fifth time in as many days.
Steve wasn’t opposed at all.
In fact, he’d planned on asking him to move in once he got more settled.
But.
“Wayne wanted another Christmas with you at home, baby. He won’t say it, but when I brought up you moving in with me, I thought he was actually gonna cry.”
“Yeah, yeah. With this new amp, he’ll change his mind.”
“What makes you think you get this amp before Christmas?” Steve put his hands on his hips.
“Because now I know you’re getting it!”
“Uh-huh. And it’s getting wrapped with your other gift to be opened on Christmas morning. No early gifts on my watch.”
“Steeeeeeve. Please! I could use it at our show next week!”
Steve shook his head. “Your amp works fine. Christmas is only a month from now.”
“You’re getting revenge on me,” Eddie pouted.
“Revenge for what?” Steve snorted.
“You know what.”
Steve did. He felt his cheeks and neck heat up with a blush.
“Fine. Yes. Maybe it’s a little bit revenge.”
Eddie huffed, but didn’t argue further.
“You know I love you, too, right?” Steve whispered.
And Eddie forgot about everything else except the way Steve was looking at him, like he needed Eddie to understand how much he loved him.
“Yeah, sweetheart. I do.”
———————
Three days later, Steve set the amp up in the second bedroom of his rented house.
When Eddie came over, he pushed him into the room and wrapped his arms around his waist.
“You can play it here, but I’m still wrapping it up for Christmas and you aren’t allowed to bring it to shows until after. Okay?”
Eddie was bouncing on his toes and squeezing Steve’s hands so hard he was losing feeling.
“Okay! Thank you, thank you! I love you! Thank you!”
Eddie smacked a kiss on Steve’s cheek before pulling away and running to the amp.
“You need your guitar, honey,” Steve laughed.
“Right!” Eddie ran from the room to grab his guitar from his van.
Steve shook his head, but couldn’t help his fond smile as the front door banged open.

Can I request strawberry shortcake ?
adult!steve x single-mom reader? literally anything where they’re in an already established relationship, bonus points if the kid is a daughter bc Steve is such a girl dad
this is a lot closer to 300 words and i really haad to stop myself from writing more but i love this ask! thank you sm for the request and feel free to send more if you enjoy the blurb
“Vi, baby come get your snacks!” You’re in the kitchen while your four-year-old daughter is building puzzles with Steve in the living room. She’s been having a hard time eating lately, so you’ve started just giving her lots of her favourite fruit and veggies that she loves before dinner so if she doesn’t end up eating a lot at dinner, you know she’s not starving.
“Coming, momom.” You hear her toddle to you, Steve right behind her with a small smile on his face.
He’s been around to hear the birth of the ‘momom’ over ‘mom’ and he loves it. He genuinely thinks it’s the cutest thing ever.
“Thanks momom,” she holds her plate in one hand and grabs a couple blueberries and shoves them into her mouth. “What about Stevie?” she asks and he finds that even cuter.
Violet is just the cutest thing Steve has ever seen, he doesn’t shy away from telling her that either. Before you can even give her an answer, she’s grabbing a handful of the fruits on her plate and holds it out to Steve.
He opens his hands immediately, accepting the halved grapes, cubed melon and sliced pears she’s shared with him. “Here you go, Stevie. Puzzles?” she’s ready to go again and you have to suppress your laugh at how enthusiastic she is about the ocean puzzle you and Steve had got her last weekend.
“What about giving momom a kiss first?” she gasps, like she can’t believe she’s forgotten to give you a kiss.
“Sorry momom, kiss.” she puckers her lips and you scoop her up, kissing her cheeks till she giggles.

Chan x afab!reader (established relationship)
A/N: Feeling the need to write and I'm like 700 words into the second chapter of Coffee (I write really fast). Also, this is my first time ever writing smut, so I thought I should make it a short story. Please give me constructive criticism so I can improve for you guys! I want to write things that you guys truly enjoy and want to read! Please ask if you want me to write anything in particular.
WC: 1k (I literally meant to make this 300 words...)
CW: Consensual Somnophilia, piv, unprotected (please don't), daddy kink, use of baby girl, cockwarming (kinda)? (idk what else to write here tbh)
"Channie, can you please just come back to bed, you've been working so hard for so long" you whined laying in your shared bed. Purple LED lights surround each corner of the room. "I'll be there in a second babe, I just have to finish this up first"
You loved Chan from the bottom of your heart, but you were so tired of him constantly working himself to the bone. He didn't know what the definition of a break was and it frustrated you. You were too tired to stay awake, so you decided to just go to sleep.
Chan finally finished his work, excited to watch the movie you had been talking about for days. He thought he was only working for an extra 5 minutes, but the clock read 3:12 a.m. He looked at his bed to see you fast asleep, like a kitten, curled up in a ball wearing only his shirt and your panties.
He loved seeing you like this, so at peace he didn't want to do anything to bother it. He curled up in the bed next to you, ready to fall asleep, but what he heard stopped him in his tracks. You were on his bed, moaning his name in a soft whisper. He was going to lose it, he didn't think he neglected you that much. He's just been so busy with work.
He thought about the last time you guys had sex. It was almost a week ago due to both of your busy schedules. He wanted to make you feel good, and he could already feel his erection growing in his shorts.
You guys have thoroughly talked about having sex while one of you was sleeping in case you really needed to get off and the other was there, so he took advantage of this.
He pulled down your panties whilst kissing your neck. He needed to make you feel good, but also stretch you out well since it had been a while.
You were already wet from the dream you were having, and he was grateful for it, slowly rubbing your clit while rubbing your nipples over his t-shirt. You started whimpering into his ear, and he felt like he could come on the spot. Something about the sounds that you make for him always makes him feel some type of way.
"Fuck y/n, your fucking soaked," he said out loud to no one but himself, "you are thinking about daddy fucking you even while you are sleeping aren't you?"
"Yeah, I bet you are thinking about squeezing your sweet fucking pussy all over my cock. God, let me stretch you out before I put my cock inside you babygirl."
He started using his fingers to stretch you out, starting off with one because you were just so fucking tight. Your eyes started to flutter in and out of consciousness when he started to put the second finger in. He could feel your cunt starting to clench around him, he knew you were going to cum soon, he started playing with your clit again trying to get you to cum on his fingers.
"Fuck baby, just like that, ride daddy's fingers like I know you can." Your moans got a bit louder, but you were still in a deep slumber.
Chan couldn't take it anymore, he needed to bury his cock inside of you before he came from just touching you. He slowly started to push his thick cock inside of you, he could feel your walls clenching and he had only put the tip in.
"God baby, this pussy sucks me in so well. What could I do without my baby, always ready for my dick."
When he finally sheathed inside you, he was in a state of euphoria, he couldn't help but groan out loud. No matter how much he loved to make you cum, he needed to chase his own high now. He needed to cum inside you, fill you up with his cum til he saw it leaking out.
He started thrusting rapidly, not caring if the members woke up with the sound of the headboard smashing against the wall.
As his thrusts started getting sharper, you began to stir awake, "Channie" you asked as you groggily woke up to something feeling so good inside of you.
"Shhhh baby" he tried to silence you, "just take my cock like the good girl you are."
That's exactly what you did, as he continued to rut into you, he shifted a little bit, hitting that spongey spot inside of you.
"Oh fuck" you moaned, "Harder daddy, I'm almost there, please come inside I need your cum so bad, please daddy come inside, need it, need it in me."
You were clenching down so hard on his cock, he wanted you to come together, he needed to creampie you on his cock.
He reached over and started playing with your clit once again to help you get over the edge. "Come on baby, come with me, such a good baby, letting me cum inside of you like the good little baby you are, love taking daddy's cock don't you can't get enough. Have to take it even while you are sleeping that's how much you want it?"
"Yes daddy" you replied, "need your cum, need it in me so bad" that's what sent you both over the edge, him cumming inside you and staying there, not daring to move.
"Was that good sweetheart, don't want daddy to take his cock out of you? Want me to plug you full of my cum til we both fall asleep" he asked groggily.
He waited for a reply, only to see you fall back asleep. He chuckled at this but ended up falling asleep still in you.

Sukuna Can't Tell the Time (The unique way Sukuna is damned to eternal miscommunication and existentialism in the modern era.)
Notes before we start.
1) I will be mainly using the TCB scans for the manga because of their accessibility.
2) I need professional help.
Preface
I want to get one thing out of the way. This is going to be a weird write-up because I'm hardly going to cite the manga.
I'm basically posting this as a reference for myself. All of this occurred so I could properly lean into the old man aspect of Sukuna for a fic I'm writing. (Aka I read too much on actual Heian Era history and now you all have to suffer.)
People often joke that Sukuna is an old man, but I'm here to tell you he is so out of touch and out of time that he might as well be existing in a never-ending Lovecraftian nightmare where time has stopped being real.
It's going to take a while to explain why this is the case so hear me out, maybe?
Fundamental Measurements
What is a unit of measurement? And where did these units come from? If you've taken an entry level physics class, you've already been through the existential crisis answering these questions caused.
But for the uninitiated, have you ever sat down and asked yourself why you know what a foot/meter is? Everyone has kind of agreed they represent a specific distance, and depending on where you were raised, you'll prefer one over the other.
I'm an American. I'm also an engineer. I have to use SI Units and Freedom Units all the time. Differing distance units are things I can easily conceptualize. I understand what a meter is. It's like 3.3 feet.
Every time I hear meter, my brain does the conversion to 3.3 feet because I was raised with feet as my base unit of measurement. But oddly enough, when I hear 100 meters, I instantly know how far that is. This is because I was a sprinter for all of Jr. High and High School. When someone says 100 meters, I picture the got danged torture stretch of the 300 meter hurdles.
The point of this is to establish that early life experiences become a reference point when thinking about things as an adult. If I didn't run track or do engineering, I would be a "What the fuck is a kilometer?" type American.
Measurements of Miscommunication
If you couldn't tell, I wrote the previous section with Non-Americans in mind. I specified the units of measurement I was using for distance because I understand people outside of the US could be reading my post.
But what happens if I don't do that? What happens when people assume everyone's units of measurement are the same as theirs? Allow me to recall a conversation I'm sure most of you Non-Americans have had with an American on the internet and vice versa.
Friend, Non-American: Ugh it's 40 degrees out today.
Me, American: Dang that sounds pretty cold, don't forget to wear a jacket.
Friend, Non-American: What the hell do you meant that's cold???
Me, American and remembering where they live: OH YOU MEAN CELSIUS. That's 104 in Freedom Units.
Friend, Non-American: 104 IS SUPER DEAD IN CELSIUS.
(40°F is 4.4°C btw.)
As you can see, these kind of assumptions relay drastically different information. 40 degrees without a unit is read as cold or hot depending on where a person is from. It also doesn't help that the conversion between these units is nonsense. The vast majority of people can't do °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9 off the top of their head.
I, for the life of me, cannot comprehend Celsius. Temperature is too abstract a concept for my brain to swap systems. I think there's a reason for this.
Unlike distance, you can't see the temperature with your body. You can feel it, sure, but sometimes you step into a walk-in freezer and come out feeling like everything is warmer than it is. Relativity like that won't affect how you see distance. A foot is a foot, a meter is a meter, and they will always look those distances. You can check them easily.
Temperature? You need a thermometer to check. Or you assume the generalized data on a weather app is accurate. And things like humidity can fudge with your perception it.
This is all to say that my brain assigned the number 40 as cold. It being a hot number is barely comprehensible because my foundation is it being cold.
(If you were wondering, yes this is why I write out dates like Month DD, YYYY. It's so no one has to look at 3/4/YYYY and guess if they're supposed to be reading it as March 4th or April 3rd because they can't tell what country I'm from.)
What does this have to do with Sukuna?
Well my dear reader, my question to you is: What units of measurement were used in the Heian Era?
Forget about distance and temperature. How was time measured in the Heian era?
Heian Era Timekeeping
Ancient Japan ran on something called a Lunisolar Calendar. This is a type of calendar based around moon phases and sun positioning hence, lunisolar.
Taken directly from Wikipedia:
"A lunisolar calendar is a calendar in many cultures, incorporating lunar calendars and solar calendars. The date of lunisolar calendars therefore indicates both the Moon phase and the time of the solar year, that is the position of the Sun in the Earth's sky. If the sidereal year (such as in a sidereal solar calendar) is used instead of the solar year, then the calendar will predict the constellation near which the full moon may occur. As with all calendars which divide the year into months there is an additional requirement that the year have a whole number of months. In some cases ordinary years consist of twelve months but every second or third year is an embolismic year, which adds a thirteenth intercalary, embolismic, or leap month.
Their months are based on the regular cycle of the Moon's phases. So lunisolar calendars are lunar calendars with – in contrast to them – additional intercalation rules being used to bring them into a rough agreement with the solar year and thus with the seasons."
Did you notice something funky? A leap month has to be accounted for with this calendar. And it gets worse. The duration between leap months vary because the earth's path around the sun varies.
Under this calendar system, instead of a fixed interval of time always passing for a year, everything is variable. This means conversion to a modern date, which uses fixed time intervals, is not a one to one thing. It's kind of like trying to convert February 29th to non-leap years. Some people born on this day celebrate on February 28th and others will use March 1st. Legally speaking in the US, March 1st is used for tallying. (And if you've seen the Pirates of Penzance, this is an actual plot point when trying to determine a character's contract clause.) So imagine that but for months, years, and hours all the time.
I exclude days from this issue because Heian Japan agreed that a day was as day. They don't shrink or grow. The 12 hours a day always pass! And yes I mean 12 hours a day.
Heian Hours
For the rest of this discussion I'm referencing this lovely source by Katherine M. Lawrence. Everything quoted is from here.
So... let's get into that 12 hour day thing.
"Days consisted of 12 hours based on the 12 zodiac animals, each Heian hour being equal to about two modern hours. In a moment I will get to why I deliberately used the word “about.”
Days were divided into six “hours” of daylight and six “hours” of darkness. Instead of midnight, the day started at daybreak. Only in the Meiji times, in 1867, did the day change at midnight.
What is fascinating is that there were always six “hours” of daylight and six “hours” of night irrespective of the time of year. In modern times, with mechanical and even atomic clocks, we accept that more daylight falls in summer than in winter. We might turn back or move our clocks forward twice a year. In Japan it was done 24 times a year—approximately every 14 to 16 days—so that the first light would always come during the first “hour” of the day, which was known as the Hour of the Rabbit, sometimes called the Hour of the Hare. Dusk would come at the Hour of the Bird, sometimes called the Hour of the Rooster.
If we were to measure the actual length of winter days using a modern timepiece, the Hour of the Rabbit would be shorter than two hours because the relatively shorter total daylight in winter would still be distributed into six parts.
The six nighttime hours in winter would absorb the extra darkness and be proportionately longer than the nominal two hours of our 24-hour clock.
All this kept the astrologers and priests busy, because every 14 to 16 days, the clocks had to be adjusted. “More on that in a minute,” which by the way, is an idiom the Japanese of the era would not have used, because our modern concept of sixty minutes to an hour and sixty seconds to a minute is highly tied to mechanical clocks."
In summary, Heian Hours quite literally grow and shorten depending on the season. That 1 Heian Hour=2 Modern Hours conversion only works when daylight hours are the exact same as nighttime hours.
But it gets even weirder than that. Rather than counting from 1 to 12 for daytime and nighttime like we might on our modern clocks, Heian Japan counted down from 9 to 4 twice. This results in a clock conversion that looks like this.
And remember, this is only accurate when daylight hours are equal to nighttime hours!
It should also be noted that these hours were announced by the ringing of temple bells throughout the day and the night. Everyone relied on these temples to keep the time at all times.
But wait, there's more! (Heian Months and Solar Stems)
This is where timekeeping really starts to fall apart in terms of my understanding of it so Ms. Katherine M. Lawrence is going to explain it.
"In the Heian period (and until 1867), each month began on the dark moon, also know as the new moon. The full moon would come on the 15th day and the month would end approximately on the 28th, sometimes the 29th, and even the 30th day of the month.
Japanese did not have the western concept of the seven-day week, though they certainly could count to seven. What they had instead was the concept of the solar stem, of which there were 24."
"The first solar stem of the Japanese year starts on the first day of the year: Start of Spring, which, unlike the Western calendar, is not in March. The Last Solar Stem (the 24th) ends on the last day of Major Cold. The beginning of the year in Japan, as measured by the Western calendar, would start somewhere between mid-January and mid-February, the variation resulting from aligning the solar stems with the lunar months."
In summary, Heian Months may be about the same length as Modern Months, but they are strictly based on the moon phases and the 24 Solar Stems are anchored around them.
This leaves us with a conversion calendar that looks like this. (Edited to number the Solar Stems.)
And remember, this is approximate. The Solar Stems do not always align with these exact Georgian calendar dates.
The lunar months, of course, do not use our calendar date names. I present a summary table based on several people's documentation (Source 1, Source 2, Source 3) since sadly the other blogger didn't include them:
(Jan-Feb) Mutsuki (睦月) Month of Harmony/Affection
(Feb-Mar) Kisaragi (如月) Month of Changing of Clothes
(Mar-Apr) Yayoi (弥生) Month of Plant Growth/New Life
(Apr-May) Uzuki (卯月) Month of Deutzia Flowers
(May-Jun) Satsuki (皐月) Month of Planting Rice
(Jun-Jul) Minazuki (水無月) Month of Water/No Gods
(Jul-Aug) Fumizuki (文月) Month of Literature
(Aug-Sep) Hazuki (葉月) Month of Leaves
(Sep-Oct) Nagatsuki (長月) The Long Month
(Oct-Nov) Kannazuki (神無月) Month of Gods
(Nov-Dec) Shimotsuki (霜月) Month of Frost
(Dec-Jan) Shiwasu (師走) Month of Running Priests
This table merges multiple sources because the translations of Kanji differ and it's good to see how/why these differences occur. There's also the issue of the bloggers presenting the months like 1-to-1 conversions.
I want to stress that these Lunar Months start and end anywhere from the middle to the late parts of Georgian Months. This is why Source 1 claims Mutsuki=Feb while Sources 2 & 3 claim Mutsuki=Jan. Source 1 chose Feb because the majority of Mutsuki occurs in Feb while Sources 2 & 3 chose Jan because Mutsuki technically starts in late Jan.
Now that I've laid all this out, I'm sure you have the following burning question:
How the hell do you convert modern time to Heian time???
I turn to Ms. Katherine M. Lawrence again for guidance.
"If this post gets some interest, I will continue and explain how the author calculates..."
There's no guidance.
However! There is an example of a conversion without the explanation.
"Thus, we know as Yamabuki and Tomoe ride up to the Shayō Tōge, the Sunset Pass, at Sunset on May 11, 1172, in the middle of a freak snowstorm, the author can say with some assurance that it happened at the Hour of the Bird on the 13th day of the 7th solar stem, two days past the full moon of the Flower Month."
So I'm going to try to figure out how this occurred using the information I've been given.
Hour of the Bird: This one is easy! The bird hour is the official sunset hour.
7th Solar Stem: According to the chart that's between late April and early May.
13th Day: Since Solar Stems are about 14-16 days this means it's almost the 8th Solar Stem which starts around May 21st.
2 days past the full moon of the Flower Month: "Flower Month" is not on my chart. From what I know about kanji, I think this is a simplification of Uzuki (卯月) or the the Month of Deutzia Flowers. This aligns with the month of May.
This is where I give up. I legitimately do not know where to go from here. ...And that's my point.
What does this have to do with Sukuna?
Before I completely lose you, my dearest most patient reader, please consider the following:
You wake up in a place where time is counted backwards and the hours pass faster than you've ever known them to. The things you use to tell the time don't exist or are in a form you no longer can recognize.
You see a clock face that counts in the wrong direction to numbers you've never seen used for time. The sounds it makes are familiar and foreign all at once. When you try to use the times and dates everyone you ever knew understood instantly, you're met with complete confusion. No one except a few dedicated scholars know how to convert your concept of time to theirs.
This is how Sukuna experiences time in the modern era.
Sukuna Can't Tell the Time (Sukuna almost fumbled his date with Gojo.)
Remember all my rambling about my own experiences with trying to understand SI Units as a Freedom Units user and my complete and utter failure to convert Heian Time to Modern Time? This is to establish that on a fundamental level, it does not matter that Sukuna has access to his vessel's memories. These foreign units mean nothing without a conversion reference.
Yuta in Gojo's body showed us how the memory recollection process works. You see them like movie and must draw your understandings from them.
We also learn from Sukuna that he tends to ignore memories that aren't relevant to his sorcery. So something mundane like telling the time isn't his priority. (I often think about how Sukuna has been watching Yuji and everyone around him use a cell phone but he still calls it a photography device.)
(He's lying about the flowers though.)
So this leads us to Sukuna and Gojo setting the date for their battle...
When Sukuna heard Kenjaku say November 19th and Gojo say December 24th his brain was the equivalent of TV static. It's very likely that Sukuna had to rely on Kenjaku to ensure he showed up at the right day. (Kenjaku, of course, is an exception here because instead of drawing from memories, Kenny got to live through the transitional period of the Lunisolar Calendar to the Georgian Calendar and had 100+ years to adjust to it. And now that I think about it, the Culling Game using days to count time is probably Kenjaku being considerate of this generational difference.)
It's a really good thing that Gojo didn't specify the time because that would've made things worse. See the following examples using the handy dandy conversion chart as a reference...
Gojo: Let's do this at 10.
Sukuna: ???
Gojo: Let's do this at 9.
Sukuna: *Shows up approximately 2 hours late at 11 am.*
Gojo: Let's do this at 8.
Sukuna: *Shows up approximately 5 hours late at 1 pm.*
Gojo: Let's do this at 7.
Sukuna: *Shows up approximately 8 hours late at 3 pm*
Gojo: Let's do this at 6.
Sukuna: *Shows up on time?* (It’s December in the northern hemisphere so the sun comes up after 6. Sukuna might still show up a bit late.)
These examples also assume that Sukuna can still gauge Heian Hours accurately. That too is up in the air because the hourly bells that sounded the Heian Hours no longer exist. The temples and bells may remain, but their use for timekeeping has changed entirely.
Since it's likely he spent a large portion of his early life in a temple, there's a chance Sukuna has a strong internalized sense of Heian Hours. But how many people do you know that can accurately feel an hour pass on vibes alone?
There isn't any point in the manga where Sukuna indicates he knows what Georgian Month is, let alone a Modern Hour. I think that's why he's just waiting on top of the building for Gojo to show up. The day starts for him when the sun comes up, not midnight. He probably figured that as long as he was out there by dawn, eventually his date would show up.
There's something strangely adorable about that. Sukuna didn't go out massacring others for funsies or wreak havoc after Gojo was unsealed. He just waited a whole month and gambled on their connection starting the death date on time.
How Sukuna Might Tell the Time
When Sukuna uses time units, he only uses minutes or seconds.
Well...the narrator implies he's able to use seconds.
This makes sense despite the Heian Era not having minutes or seconds. They're foundational units rather than a unit he needs to convert to something mentally. Because they are so drastically smaller than other Heian units of time, it's easier for the brain to calibrate itself to them.
This means that if one wanted to communicate a duration of time to Sukuna, it would be better to use minutes or seconds.
For example, rather than saying "see you in an hour", "see you in 60 minutes" would be better. Otherwise Sukuna is going to default to 1 Heian Hour and show up approximately 2 hours late.
Another example, telling Sukuna you'll "be gone for a few hours" means to him that you'll be gone for most of the day. At this point it would be better to reference a duration of an activity he's familiar with than use minutes. Sukuna watched some of those movies with Yuji. "I'll be gone for 1-2 movies" will make a little more sense to him.
Funnily enough though, telling Sukuna that you work a 9-5 wouldn't cause a miscommunication for duration. That's 4 Heian Hours or about 8 Modern Hours. He probably thinks it's weird you start working in the middle of the day and into the night though.
How Sukuna tells time for himself is likely similar to someone lost in the wilderness. He'll mostly be relying on environmental cues like moon phase, sun position, constellations, and flora growth. (Which ironically, climate change affecting flora growth patterns would throw him off even more. I can't even imagine how he'd feel about light pollution stealing away the stars on top of that. But at least the moon is still there!)
But as you can see, the normal methods of precise timekeeping are next to impossible for Sukuna to use and this discrepancy is ripe for miscommunication. This has a lot of comedy and horror potential in fanworks. (Hence me writing this as a resource.)
How Sukuna Used to Tell the Time
After doing all this research, I found myself viewing Sukuna's theme Malevolent Shrine a little differently. I always found it to be a quite sad sounding song for his character. Villains as violent and fierce as Sukuna tend to get battle themes that reflect that. In comparison to high energy bangers like One-Winged Angel (Sephiroth Final Fantasy), Avalon (Ultimate Lifeform Kars Jojo), or The Last Mission (Murem vs Netero Hunter x Hunter), Malevolent Shrine is rather somber and unfocused.
This theme opens and closes with bells. The opening in particular feels chaotic with how the different bells seem to overlap and overwhelm each other. But if you listen closely, you'll hear the gong of a temple bell that keeps rhythm by marking the start of a new measure. Using this bell, it becomes easier to count the beats, even when it eventually disappears in the middle section.
His theme to me now feels like an echo of what Sukuna used to know before he was thrust into a world that is no longer in sync with his very concept of time.
"Interestingly, the Japanese “witching hour” is not at midnight, but at nominally 2 AM (1 AM–3 AM) and is known as the Hour of the Ox."
I don't really know where else to put this. Sukuna on his throne of ox skulls, a representation of the witching hour where reality falls apart and spirits come out to play.
How all this might look in action. (Defending my questionable writing choices.)
Though everything I've given is plenty enough for people to run wild with in fanworks, I would like to give examples of it in my own. My type of autism is one where it's easier for me have something to use as a direct reference. (Clear and concise instructions please.) So I want to provide that for anyone else wired similarly.
Context: The fic I'm writing is from Sukuna's POV so I've taken great care to avoid him using modern timekeeping terms. I have a timeline for everything outlined, but I refuse to make that clear to the reader so they can get the Sukuna Experience™.
Other characters will reference the time and give the reader little windows into what date it possibly is, but otherwise they have to infer it themselves.
But because I myself use modern time, I caught mistakes I made in an early chapter... (Aka before I realized Heian Timekeeping is Extremely Different.)
Old Sentence: The year is 2019.
Revised Sentence: The year is 2019 for the Common Era.
(Heian Japan was mimicking China so I'm assuming that the numbered years restarted with each era since I couldn't find how years were kept.)
Old Sentence: It’s reminding him he has not eaten for the past 5 hours and 38 minutes.
Revised Sentence: It’s reminding him he has not eaten since the hour of the dragon—338 minutes and counting.
(This one is self evident I think.)
But even within this chapter, I obscured the date by having Sukuna observe his surroundings. I don't think it's a good example so I'll use a different one from an unpublished draft.
...it occurs under the same wisteria and same midday sun. The branches and buds have begun to green and swell before the Flowering Moon has reached its full, an indication that the bloom will come early.
Wisterias bloom in late April around the time of full moon. April aligns with Yayoi or the Month of Plant Growth/New Life. I worked under the assumption that the moons can be called by their month names kind of like Native American moon names. But Plant Growth/New Life Moon didn't sound good to me so I changed it to Flowering.
So I do have a very specific date for when this scene occurs, but Sukuna doesn't know so the reader doesn't know. The best you can guess is sometime in April but you have to know when Wisterias typically bloom and what a Flowering Moon might be. (I'm hoping this kind of vague timekeeping disorients the reader and causes frustration. I used sun, moon, and star positioning charts for this got dang it.)
Tools to Use for Weird Timekeeping
Chinese Calendar Conversions
Solar Stem Converter
(This one is annoying to use because they don't use the translated names but there is a definitions table.)
Lunar Calendar Converter
(Unfortunately it only allows for 1901-2100. You can probably infer the lunar month via the Solar Stem Converter for older dates.)
Celestial Bodies
For star/constellation positions in the night sky use this:
Sky & Telescope Interactive Sky Chart
(Yes you can even change the location and time to get the exact night sky the characters might be looking at.)
For sun positions and sunrise/sunset times use this:
SunCalc
For moon positions and moonrise/moonset times use this:
MoonCalc
(If you want to see a summary of moon phases by month this tool is helpful.)
Why have you done this?
I don't know. Please enjoy my perverse obsession with the little details.

ℑ'𝔪 𝔤𝔬𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔱𝔬 𝔟𝔢 𝔞 𝔣𝔞𝔥𝔱𝔥𝔲𝔥? {𝔦𝔤𝔫𝔦𝔰 𝔰𝔠𝔦𝔢𝔫𝔱𝔦𝔞}
tags: sfw, fluff, fem!reader, pregnancy, soft iggy, established relationship, domestic bliss, some baby planning, let's not take Noah's titling seriously okay x3
At first, Ignis honestly can't comprehend the little stick you're holding directly in front of his eyes even with glasses on.
"Honey, my vision is good but not that good. What is it? Allow me to see more clearly, please." His fingers curl around your wrist and tug your hand back so he can look at what you are holding not so directly. Ignis stutters at the object. A pregnancy test. With two positive lines.
He turned to you, half in disbelief, half in utter shock. His eyes search yours, desperately searching for any sign of falsehood and when he finds none he begins to weep softly.
"A family... Our own little family." Ignis tugged you to him, burying his face in your bosom. "The gods have answered my prayers."
Ignis is cautious, immediately taking even better care of you and the new life growing inside your belly. You're not allowed to do any heavy lifting, no scooping the kitty box, and he (unfortunately, because he loves you and your baby) limits your caffeine intake.
❀ Ignis is SO excited to be a dad!! But also really nervous but excited. He goes back and forth between these two emotions consistently throughout your pregnancy.
❀ He does not make you feel bad about any pregnancy cravings! No matter the weird combo! He might try them with you and definitely will research combinations that promote yours and the baby's health!
❀ Spends a lot of time researching. He's definitely the soon-to-be parent who buys all of the books and gets sucked into baby safety because my dude is paranoid about something happening. Sweet man is such a worrywort.
❀ Is able to debunk scams when it comes to certain baby products but he will also get scammed by this $300 baby proof cabinet lock that certainly isn't cheaper anywhere else...
❀ Starts to cry when you're picking out baby clothes and he's holding little booties on his fingers looking at you like he's already the proudest father ever and you're little one isn't even here yet. ಥ╭╮ಥ
❀ Ignis will come with you to as many doctor appointments as he can, especially if it's getting harder for you to move on your own. He wants to ensure your safety and your health needs have been met. Plus, it makes him feel good to help out his fianceé.
❀ Definitely plays classical music for your baby. All of the big names at a gentle volume. He wants to give your child the best start in life he possibly can. You and the baby will want for nothing (uncle Noctis will see to this also!)
❀ The Chocobros will all lend a hand in caring for you. It's super sweet. In your heart you knew it was because Ignis has been freaking out and they'd like to keep their friend as sane as possible. They would've done so anyway because they love you and they're super excited for you and Ignis to become parents.
History has a habit of repeating itself. A few months later you all but shove a piece of paper into your fiancé's face. You carry the same energy as an Animal Crossing character showing off their newest fish. Noctis would be proud.
"Dear, what is this? Did you get the gender results?" Ignis adjusts his glasses, pushing them back up the bridge of his nose. Smiling wide, he leaned back again to see what you are holding more clearly. The ultrasound is grainy and it's hard to make out the baby even with the nurse's helping outline.
❀ He will love your child no matter the gender but he was always super fond of having a little girl he could coddle and protect. He's a sucker for 'daddy's little girl' kind of clothing and definitely would have vests to match his daughter's dress. But of course, his tie remains yours and yours alone to pick out
❀ Absolutely starts bawling his eyes out the moment he finds out you're having a little girl. He knows he looks unsightly with big, fat tears and snot dripping down his noses. Let's be real, he was going to cry either way.
❀ Surprise! You pull another ultrasound and reveal you're also having a little boy! Twins! Ignis's heart absolutely swells with love and adoration. Now everything is even. Two kids would definitely be his maximum, but he might be able to be persuaded to have a third and fourth. He hopes your baby boy looks like you and his little girl looks like him.♡
As a little bonus, you have the rest of the Chocobros over at your new home a fair bit. With your family growing so rapidly, you needed the extra space for two little kiddos.
As they grow, you both wanted them to have their own spaces to express themselves as individuals instead of being forced to share.
Noctis and Prompto are completely fine with being the fun uncles for your little tater-tots. Neither they or their partners want children at this time (and potentially not ever, depends.), but Gladio would love a big family one day! For now, the other three will live vicariously through you and Ignis ♡˖꒰ᵕ༚ᵕ⑅꒱

Ayda Aguefort Timeline/Age Speculation
(warning this is long i have many thoughts)
ok ever since i found out about ayda's reincarnation and her relative age ive been curious about how long she would be alive for (in prep for writing a fic about what notes she'd write to her next self after meeting fig), and so here's my thoughts on that, starting with what we know:
ayda is relatively over 300 years old total
current ayda is 17 years old, and knew herself to be ~175 years old total
ayda knows of 3 previous lifetimes, all of whom lived in leviathan at one point
garthy obrien raised current ayda
a previous ayda raised garthy obrien
in various sources, dnd and general, phoenixes can live to 500-1000 before immolation. by this logic/dnd standards half-phoenixes can at minimum live a little longer than humans, and at maximum probably halfway between the two so 300-600 range.
what we can speculate:
considering past lives timelines, half phoenixes here are probably not living in that higher 300-600 range each incarnation, probably much closer to a typical human lifetime range unless they're dying unexpectedly early (which tbf is possible considering leviathan, but ayda is a badass genius wizard holed up in a library so unlikely that's happening a lot).
speculated in various sources and implied in fantasy high that half phoenixes while born without memories of the past are born with some kind of prior intelligence/maturity (like the intellect of a 6-11 year old). this would make sense for how ayda was able to raise herself in the past despite having no guardian (read notes, get around, survive, etc which wouldn't be possible if she popped out a lone infant).
all 3 previous lifetimes left notes and did work building compass points, meaning likely all at least got into teen years to be leaving in depth notes and historical impact. on average over 150 years this would make each previous ayda be about 50 years old, but this seems unlikely considering some known stuff about 4th most recent version detailed below.
arthur is ~500 years old, and confirmed that ayda told him to not contact her 300 years ago, meaning ayda was likely at least a teenager/young adult by the time of making this decision. it's unclear if this was ayda's first incarnation or not, it was likely one of the earlier ones although possibly not considering this version already had an established note-taking system and plans for informing future versions (but it is implied all the aydas leave notes so again speculation). this ayda promised to leave notes for future versions, therefore it's likely they are not the same version (the 4th most recent ayda) who destroyed the previous ~125 years worth of notes. we have at least 5 confirmed versions of ayda altogether (averaging 60 years each over 300 years), possibly more.
garthy obrien is a half orc aasimar. half orcs live to roughly 75 years, human-based aasimar to no more than 160. this means the celestial blood adds roughly 60 years to a human's lifetime, so if we add that to half orc we can estimate garthy will live to 135. half orcs reach adulthood at 14, aasimar at ~18. garthy was raised when very young through to at least adulthood, and is likely at most presently in their 40s (they describe jack brakkow as distinctly older, who's in his 50s), though more likely closer to 30s considering their more youthful appearance and vibes (but again the angel blood could be a factor). so im saying 35 for splitting of difference purposes. they raised ayda her whole life, so that's at least 17, meaning previous incarnation died when garthy was ~18 (sad).
based on all this it's highly likely the most recent reincarnation prior to current ayda raised garthy obrien, and we can assume was at least an adult when doing so and lived until garthy was an adult so likely died at the earliest at ~36-40.
4th most recent ayda destroyed ~125+ years worth of notes in an effort to start over, likely did this at at least teen age (let's say ~18) and did not start taking notes again until decades later, thus starting the 150 years until current ayda. its assumed that by the time they began note taking in leviathan they were already fairly old/reflecting on past decisions/etc, likely at least 50 (considering 18ish when burning the notes and the following 'decades-later regret'). also this takes off a chunk of that previous mystery 125+ notes, meaning 4th current ayda probably reborn around 75 years after cutting off arthur contact, possibly sooner.
we dont know really anything about the 3rd most recent ayda aside from them liking the library and getting zero bitches
theories/concrete thoughts:
even with 2nd ayda dying at the earliest at 40 and 4th ayda dying at 50 (10 of which factor into the 150 years at leviathan) at the earliest (mind you these numbers are a stretch) the max age you get ayda being is 100, which is a normal human lifespan
casual possibility in all of this is ayda is roughly 300, and with 5 version on average lives to be about 60 years old. this is simple but seems unlikely considering phoenixes live much longer and so her lifetime should be longer than a human's.
it's possible the odd age timeline/low age is in part because when she's reborn she might not be born as an infant. if she comes back as essentially 5-10 already, that is potentially a good chunk of time that is chopped off at the end, making her lifespan average closer to 70 or 80. still lower than anticipated but more reasonable.
it's possible that some versions of ayda have died prematurely or self-immolated for whatever reason. though they've all seemingly lived past childhood, they live on a pirate island with frequent dangers and strife, it's totally possible that anything bad could've happened to them. i think its less likely that they just died really early because 1: ayda seemingly has always come back with access to these notes which implies some level of safety, to have been reborn in the same space as these notes and be able to process them and grow/learn while also being still that young implies some safety/protection. also ayda is a genius and a very good wizard like her father and could likely survive most typical challenges that come her way. also she has very few relationships and very few goals besides collecting knowledge and spells so likely didn't have many enemies either. to me self-immolation feels more likely as ayda clearly struggles with a lot of insecurity and loneliness and likely depression/mental illness and mentioned as much in reference to losing fig, altho i think this prolly only happened with 3rd or 4th most recent ayda. but still, premature death is possible too (something ayda referenced as a possibility as well upon returning to leviathan).
ayda being perhaps way more than 300 is possible and makes some of the timeline make a bit more sense. you could have a much older 4th most recent ayda who dies briefly into her time in leviathan, leaving two aydas in the next 150 years living well into their 70s (or perhaps one dying earlier and one living longer). you could also even speculate that there are 4 rather than 5 aydas, the 4th most current being the same one who left her father and burned the notes (this seems unlikely tho considering the promises, the desire to restart and impulsive note burning decision) but that would make that version at most around 150 before reincarnation.
also possible half-phoenixes just have shorter lifespans. maybe the tradeoff to being immortal means their human bodies aren't strong enough to handle that power/process as easily and weaken sooner/don't last as long. hence average of closer to 60s
in conclusion/TLDR:
fig is most likely outliving ayda or they're around the same age. ayda is at least living to 60, and at the very most 150 (which is a bit stretch). most likely ayda will live to an average human lifespan of around 80, and fig could potentially die at a similar time but tieflings tend to live longer on average, also at most to 150. there's a possibility for a fig-raising-ayda akin to garthy future, but it's unlikely, at least not for long. [and if fig is a full pit fiend/archdevil ofc she could end up immortal but that might be after material plane death]

Okay, has anyone else tried connecting the dots between the Cooper Clan members? Because recently I just started and in doing so, by putting them on a timeline, I’ve noticed that many of them are probably direct relatives to each other
Now bear in mind, this is me operating under the understanding that all of these Coopers are directly descended from one another (because that’s what an ancestor is, not an uncle, an aunt, or a distant cousin once or twice removed), plus Sly himself has said more than once that he’s from a long LINE of thieves, so let’s just work with that in mind.
I’m also basing this off of all available information from all of the games, primarily Thieves in Time
Some examples:
Rioichi and Henriette
In Thieves in Time, we learn that Rioichi was alive and already well-established during the chapter “Turning Japanese” (roughly in his 30’s or 40’s at the time) in the year 1603.
Later in the game in the chapter “40 Thieves” Sly discovers treasure that would later be stolen by Henriette in the year 1616, thirteen years after Rioichi, making her more than likely his daughter. Though it does make me wonder why a Japanese guy would give his daughter a name like Henriette. But then again this is a family that has a thieving reputation dating back to the dawn of time and a centuries old book with seemingly unlimited pages to record it so let’s not think too hard here about logic.
Thaddeus and Tennessee
We also learn I n Thieves in Time, “Go West Young Raccoon” that “Tennessee Kid” Cooper was active in the year 1884, during the Wild West (which for any non-Americans was roughly around 1865 to the 1900s, though that’s a matter of debate for some). Let’s assume he’s somewhere in his late 20’s or early 30’s, putting his year of birth in either the 1860’s or 1850’s.
We also know, thanks to dialogue from Sly 3, that Thaddeus Winslow Cooper the III was active during Victorian London which lasted from 1837 to 1901. From here, things get tricky. In “Goodbye my Sweet” we get a look at Thaddeus’ section of the Thievius Raccoonus, which gives us two different contradicting dates to work with. His chapter is shown to have been penned in 1839, however, the included picture of Thaddeus is shown to have been made in 1893, roughly nine years after the Cooper Gang’s encounter with Tennessee.
Based off this, my preferred theory is that Thaddeus is Tennessee’s grandfather, or (and I can’t think of a single reason why Clockwerk would allow this fly) Thaddeus and Tennessee are cousins in some way.
And before someone brings up the Cooper Vault, and how Tennessee’s shrine comes before Thaddeus’, I’d like to point out that also in the vault, Sir Galleth’s shrine comes before Salim Al-Kupar, despite Salim having lived some 300 years before him.
Otto and Conner
And here is where the Cooper record comes to its blurriest. While we do have an idea of when Conner was born (with him having died in 1992, and his birth year suspected to be around the 1960s, maybe the late 50’s), we know next to nothing about Otto, besides that he was an ace pilot and skilled mechanic. It is generally accepted that he was active during WW1 or WW2.
If Otto was around for WW1, then at the very least he was born in the 1890’s, but there’s a small snag named Tennessee that says otherwise. If he was born in the 1890’s then he’d almost certainly be Kid Cooper’s son. Which raises the question of why Otto is presumably European (seeing as his surname is Van Cooper) while Tennessee is unashamedly American.
Now if Otto was around for WW2, it would put his year of birth around the 1910s, putting some room between him and Tennessee, while also closing the distance between him and Conner, at the latest, Conner would have likely been in his late 40’s if Conner was born in the 1950’s, maybe he was even in his 50’s. But what really cinches this for me is that Otto and Conner were both technologically savvy, with Otto and his planes, and Conner with computers. As for how Conner is (presumably) American and how Otto is European, well……. I got nothing. I guess Conner must’ve changed it for whatever reason

Karaoke Night (S.R)
Plot: Reader and Spencer are at karaoke and a song changes everything between them.
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem!Reader
Contents: kissing, dirty talk and curse word
A/N: my 2rd fanfic here and I so happy that you guys liked the first one, 200 notes is such a big deal for me, thank you. This one is a little spicy and if you guys need a part 2, let me know. Thank you, support my work, love you all.
Spencer and I have been friends for a short time, 3 or 4 months, he's the new professor at the college where I also teach and he's always been really nice to me. And we have a certain intimacy, we talk about everything, well... almost everything. We never talk about our sex life or relationships but he hears comments from my friend whenever we go karoke every Friday after work. It's just embarrassing for me to watch him overhear my best friend say "No drinks for you, every time you drink, your legs open", which is unfair by the way because it only happened once. Pff, she is creating to me a reputation that I don’t have and see him laughing after that comments makes me want to disappear off the face of the earth.
This time, we were at our usual table in front of the stage, talking about which song my best friend Sarah was going to sing. I never sing so I choose what she sings and I take pictures with my polaroid camera so that everyone has a souvenir of the night. "Sarah, what kind of song do you want to sing today? Sad song? Romantic song? Maybe…" I say looking at the tablet with 300 music options. "Y/N, today... don't be mad, I wanna sing a dirty song. I know that your forbid me because of Spencer, but I think he don't mind, right?" I was already mad, I banned these songs because I don't think he would like it, as much as I do. He likes classical music, he'll hate listening to that music.
"Oh, you can sing, I don't mind” he said giving us a big smile. It's very hard to understand Spencer, he wants to make us comfortable even if it makes him uncomfortable. "Please Y/N, I'll buy you lunch on Monday if you let me sing" she said, her hands clasped together like begging would do some good."I don't know…maybe I'll let you if you buy me lunch for a week…" I said, with a lopsided smile. "YEAH! DEAL! And I gonna sing your favorite dirty song", my eyes widened, because I know that my favorite dirty song can be... too much. I was about to start my protests but she took the tablet from my hand to choose the song. I looked at Spencer and he was watching me silently, as if he liked to see me blushing.
Now, she was onstage, her favorite spot, about to sing Måneskin's song called "Baby Said" and I was next to Spencer, completely ignoring him as if he wasn’t going to think things about me after that. Of course I have a crush on him and I really wanted to kiss those lips but that would only happen in another reality because I think that of so many women in this world, I would be his last option. The moment arrived and she started to sing, the first verse is not the problem but when she sings "You can talk between my legs", I look at Spencer quickly and you swear I saw a smirk. Either he's enjoying it or he's really finding it all too vulgar. I decided to sing along because it turned out to be my favorite and there was a choreography Sarah and I did at the end of the song that is simply the best, maybe I shouldn't have banned those songs, because I have so much fun with them.
When it was over, I felt nervous, watched, as if I had been singing on stage. I was distracted when I heard a voice whispering in my ear "Can we talk outside?” It was him, I was panicking. Sarah ran to the the bar and I could stop thinking that he doesn't like it and he's going to say he's never coming here with me again. "Okay, sure" I said , a little apprehensive. We got up and walked to the front of the establishment. It was a little late at night and there was no one but us outside. I was the first to break the silence "I know, you hated the song, didn't you? Sorry, now you think I'm too vulgar and a..." Suddenly, he approaches me, puts his hands on my face and kisses me. I melted with his touch, I could only think of returning the kiss, placing my hands on his waist. First it was a slow kiss that turned into a hot and needy kiss. God, he's such a good kisser. I didn't know I needed this so much.
When we stopped to get some air, we looked at each other and I could see the passion in his eyes, and wow, he's so perfect, so hot. He intertwined his right hand in mine and with his left hand he tucked my hair behind my ear. Slowly, he brought his lips close to my ear and said "I'm not afraid of you being vulgar and you definitely are so vicious, so baby can we please go to my house? I have serious problems on my pants and I need your help" I gasped, surprised. I had to look and it really was a big problem he had. This man gonna be the death of me but I not going to miss this opportunity. "To be honest, I'm in trouble too. I'm so wet right now that I think I need you to talk between my legs. You want that, love?". I whisped, I heard him whisper "fuck" and then he kiss me again before we finally go to his home.

The Horned Serpent
So before I get started on this one, I have a couple of things to get out of the way. First, I will be using she/her pronouns for the Horned Serpent; this is just because UPG and because I'm used to it. I know someone else who venerates/worships the Horned Serpent, uses they/them pronouns for them, and considers them to be beyond gender / present as whatever gender they feel like. Second, I will be focusing on my interpretation of her on the Gundestrup Cauldron, in part because there's really not a lot of literature on her, even when you include works that specifically analyze Cernunnos' depictions. Third (and related), I will be using the National Museum of Denmark's estimate as to when/where the Gundestrup Cauldron was made, which is roughly in the Danubian or Wallachian Plain(s) around 150 BCE to 1 CE (link).
So first a little historical & cultural context. This area, as far as culture groups, would have been a heck of a melting pot, between the Dacians and Thracians that already lived there, the Scythians coming in and also living near by, the Gauls that moved in around the 300s-200s, the Greeks who came up and started establishing colonies along the Black Sea in the 300s, and the Romans, encroaching on everyone's business around the time the Cauldron was built. A pretty solid primer on the history of the region is A Companion to Ancient Thrace, published by Wiley Blackwell.
So I'm gonna try to make sense but it might be a little disorganized going forward. Anyway, onto the actual thoughts & stuff. So anyone who's taken even a passing glance at Cernunnos is well aware of the Horned Serpent, since she is present in basically every ancient art you can find with him. On the Gundestrup Cauldron, she appears three times, all on the interior panels. One is at the Hero's heel, who's holding the wheel; a second is at the end of a line of heroic riders, which seems to be a Thracian horseman motif; and of course the famous Cernunnos panel. In Thracian Tales of the Gundestrup Cauldron, published by Najade Press, Jan Best presents an interpretation of the interior panels as a story, and assumes that Cernunnos is singing in his famous panel, specifically about the secrets of immortality, a concept which was very popular at the time. I agree with this and I also assume that the depiction of Taranis / the wheel god is that he is also singing, and if he is singing then the lions and griffins - both predators associated with kingship (griffins were protectors of the pharaoh, and also decorated certain tombs out in ancient Persia), then the action of passing off the Wheel must have symbolic meaning, such as being handed the Wheel of Heaven.
The Gundestrup Cauldron's exterior also has very clear influence from the Scythians, you can almost 1:1 map the gods based on Herodotus's retelling of the Pontic stories. I believe there are also thematic parallels going on here on the Wheel God panel, featuring a new god/king being given the symbol of his domain. Wikipedia actually has some relatively thorough articles on Scythian religion as well as the genealogical myth specifically, which is the myth that I personally associate with the wheel-giving panel. As well, the animals in this panel don't appear to be particularly concerned with attacking anyone - if anything, the griffins and lionesses are slightly tilted from one to the next, which makes me think it's more likely that they are dancing, especially if the human/divine subjects are singing, especially if the human with the helmet is receiving a high honor, potentially his rank amongst the gods. In this panel, she is just at the hero's feet, not really joining the parade if the animals, but clearly not ready to attack either, but her attention does seem to be drawn towards the hero.
The final panel she is on is the panel featuring the nine soldiers and the heroized dead, represented by the "Thracian horseman" motif. After Alexander the Great and his penchant for having statues of himself be on horseback, it became popular for wealthy men and nobles to depict themselves riding horseback to a goddess or sacred tree (unfortunately my best source discussing this in English is also not great and he comes up with some..... questionable theories), but the popularity seems to have blown up to the point where even deities such as Zeus were depicted on horseback in a similar manner. There are also mentions in a few other sources that the Thracians believed in the ability for people to essentially become immortal after death. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble sorting out my notes and this essay has been nagging me for weeks now.
Anyway, I interpret this panel as what is expected to happen to us after we die - the "ordinary", so to speak, are lead to a deity, likely to be reincarnated (this is honestly just a guess on my part largely due to the popularity of that in Greece for ever, and Grecian influence was in full swing by the time the Cauldron was made), meanwhile the "extraordinary" are lead by the Horned Serpent.
This is where I tie all three together to my upg/theology: The Horned Serpent is a friend and ally to Cernunnos. He teaches the secrets of life after death to those who will listen. The Horned Serpent is by his side during his teaching, and when we die, if we have proven ourselves worthy during life, she guides us through the trials of the afterlife. If we succeed in these trials, we are awarded with apotheosis - becoming a god or godlike - and she stands by our side as we earn this prize.
@musingmelsuinesmelancholy sorry it took me so long x.x & I hope this makes sense!

How I started reading more and better
"I used to read a book a day as a kid and now I don't read anymore."
"I call myself a reader (non-practicing)."
"I wish I had the attention span to read."
If you were like me, and spent much of your childhood devouring library books instead of going outside, and then lost that habit, I can tell you from personal experience that you can get back on that horse again.
I started out thinking, "Man, I wish I read again." I kept thinking this for years. But school or work or other distractions kept me from really pursuing it. In the end, I realized I had to carve out the time to read or I was never going to read.
Here is some of my advice (your mileage may vary):
Start small. My reading habit started up again because I decided to download Brave New World on a whim on Google Play Books, and I only read while I was on the bus, on my phone.
Try starting on your phone or tablet. Download a research paper, or an old childhood novel you love, or something short, or something else you can easily read. If you're always on your phone, might as well be more productive about it.
Read while commuting and on breaks. This was the only way I started and I still get most of my reading done on my commutes. If you drive, you can use audiobooks, but they won't be the same. Essentially, you're trying to make a habit of it, and the easiest way to make a habit out of something is to do things when you're already doing something you normally do (ex. if you have a bedtime routine, throw in reading a book there).
Avoid fanfiction. I know some fanfiction is better-written than some of the slop published today. I know. But you have to challenge yourself. Read non-fiction. Read original fiction. Get familiar with new characters and settings. It's easy to jump in written works where everything has already been established.
Don't be afraid to go slow. I would rather slowly read 1 book over 2 weeks than read 0 books over 2 weeks because I'm so used to reading books in one sitting. Don't think you need to set aside a huge amount of time. You're an adult now, with responsibilities. Not a child you can spend an entire summer day at the library. If you want to do that on a day off, by all means, go ahead, but a reading habit is more sustainable. I know I can finish 300 pages in one day, but I get maybe around 50 (or less if it's a non-fiction) or up to 100 (if it's fiction).
Let books digest. The reason you read so much as a kid was because a lot of the stuff you read was less technical. As an adult, you might be more enthralled with more complex books, but as a result, you won't be finishing it all in one day. Pace yourself.
Challenge yourself. Read a book that might be too hard for you at first, where you have to look up words and re-read pages. Read translated books. Read obscure books. Read classics. Read a diverse array of books. If you read slower but process more, you're going to get more out of reading now.

The Bleach Timeline
alright so I'mma drop some science on y'all
the Academy is ~2100 years old as of 2001. Renji, Kira, and Momo, were in the 2066th Class, graduating ~1956/1957. it's also repeatedly stated to be 2000 years old in CFYOW. Bleach takes place mostly in 2001, so that'd be 2101/2100 years as of then
when the Academy started running, Shinigami are already Shinigami, not Balancers, and Bankai are already Bankai, not Shinuchi, and we know this because Sasakibe has had Bankai for 2,000 years
QED the Gotei 13 already existed when the Academy was established, because you don't train new people for something that doesn't exist yet and won't exist for a thousand years as that just doesn't make any sense at all
for Shinigami to become Shinigami and not Balancers, they probably had to gain zanpakutō, because before then they were only using Zankensoki
we can therefore assign some arbitrary dates to the creation of these things for illustrative purposes like the Gotei 13 was founded 2,500 years ago and the zanpakutō was invented 3,000 years ago
Yamamoto is talking about his last use of Bankai being in the distant past, and Shunsui is a kid. we straight up know Shunsui and Jūshirō are the first Captains out of the Academy because Yamamoto tells us:
so it doesn't make any sense at all that Yamamoto is saying this after the war with Lichtreich, because then he'd be missing Captains for centuries. no, Yamamoto is telling this story to Shunsui long before the war with Lichtreich, which we know from the Kaiser Gesang must have happened in 1004 AD, over 1,100 years after the Academy was established. and so we come to this:
now I want you to put on your Big Brain and actually think about what is being said and shown here
Yhwach is visually recalling the Gotei 13 he fought, the individuals he personally saw
however Yhwach is verbally discussing the Gotei 13 as an institution
do you notice something? these two things are not explicitly correlated
if I told you "The U.S. Navy has always been tenacious and resourceful," and I said that while showing pictures of Commodore Matthew C. Perry, or Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, would that automatically mean Perry and Nimitz were around in 1775 and fought alongside John Paul Jones?
NO IT WOULD NOT
this neatly solves the "Original Gotei 13 Problem". maybe the OG Gotei 13 weren't around for 1,000 years, or even for 1,500 years or more. maybe the Gotei 13 that Yhwach fought were the originals, which would be confusing as to why they lasted so long when their successors did not
but maybe they weren't
Yhwach is not weighing in on that issue, he's just saying the Gotei 13 were always murderous bastards until the Lichtreich War
and think about it. Yhwach was conquering stuff for like, what, 200 years before that war? he's like maybe 300 years old when it happens or something? if he's born in 600 or 700 AD, why the hell would he care about stuff that happened before 100 BC in a completely different place? it'd be foreign ancient history to him
how many of you right now can tell me about how Qin Shi Huang unified the various warring states around him and created China in detail? okay, that was 2,200 years ago, maybe that's not fair. okay, how many of you can give me a detailed synopsis of the Mongol conquests?
do you see what I'm saying?
anyway the Gotei 13 was not founded 1,000 years ago because the Academy to staff the Gotei 13 already existed 2,000 years ago and Bankai already existed 2,000 years ago and Yamamoto tried to use his Bankai to do something or other only to make things worse and in the process he earned the epithet Shigekuni, 重國, "country-splitter" or "land-divider"
so hey if the Gotei 13 wasn't made to fight Yhwach and was made much earlier then why was it made? protip: it was Yamamoto's second attempt to handle whatever was going on at that time after his first solo try failed
what was that incident? I dunno. but all the evidence points to it having happened
we know from Narita and Matsubara in CFYOW that Kubo has a lot of supposedly interesting stories that he's never told, like how Yoruichi and Kisuke met. you should not presume that all events referenced in the series refer to other things you already know about, and that all events of importance have been covered (Tokinada and the Tsunayashiro being shoehorned into the narrative is also yet more proof of this)

An established relationship where he gives energy for a great day and leave it in the kitchen that we share before going on a mission and maybe mention my habit of waking up late,I do that a lot!
Thank you, happy valentine day and take care of yourself!! ♡
Itadori's Cute Letter To His Lover
Valentine's Day Letter Event pt.2 (CLOSED)
Pairing: Itadori x Gn!Reader
Warnings: none
Genre: Fluff
Post-Type: Letter
Word Count: 320
Summary: In which Yuuji leaves a letter for you in the kitchen before leaving for a mission
[A/N: Happy Valentine's Day! I finally wrote one that is the correct word count omg. These were all supposed to be 300 words long but I got carried away... I hope you enjoy this! Thanks for participating <3]
Waking up with Itadori already gone was a norm in your house. As a Jujutsu Sorcerer, he was called away on missions often.
But you were hoping today would be different since it was Valentine’s Day, but it wasn’t. He was away on another mission and you were alone with your shared home.
Sighing you drag yourself to the kitchen, getting ready to prepare yourself some breakfast when a note on the counter stops you in your tracks. It has your name written on it so you get to reading;
Babe,
Good morning sleepy head. I bet it’s pretty late, huh? I think it’s cute how you wake up so late. Sometimes when I don’t have anywhere to go, I like to just admire you as you sleep peacefully.
Happy Valentine’s Day. Oh how I wish I could have been there to greet you this morning with breakfast in bed or something romantic like that :( but duty calls. I will make it up to you though! You’ll have me all to yourself as soon as I get back home. I promise.
But in the meantime, while I’m not there I hope you enjoy your day. Sending you all my love and energy to last until I get back!
I love you so much! Tell me all about your day when I get home, so make sure you do lots of exciting things! I wanna hear it all.
Yuuiji <3
Well it certainly gave you a spike of energy that you needed to get through the day. You were happy that at least he didn’t forget that it was Valentine’s Day.
You started planning out a list of things to do throughout the day to keep yourself preoccupied so you’d have lots to talk about with your boyfriend later.
The day was already starting to get better, you couldn’t wait to see him later in the evening. Only then would the day be perfect.
REGULAR REQUESTS ARE OPEN :D
EVENT REQUESTS ARE CLOSED

Transformers: Mosaic #328 - "Shogun"
Originally posted on January 12th, 2009
Story, Art - Iván Mas
deviantART | Seibertron | TFW2005 | BotTalk
wada sez: A Bludgeon-focused strip set in an alternate version of IDW's continuity—sort of along the lines of Evolutions. Mas offered his own commentary on the strip on his deviantART; I’ve mirrored it and some behind-the-scenes material below, along with an entirely separate strip in a similar vein written by Enric Farguell that was apparently rejected by the Mosaic editors on the basis that it wasn’t “sequential art”. I decided to reach out to my friend Sam to get an independent view on the strip’s cultural background:
Sam sez: So Sekigahara was one of the last big battles of the warring states period. The narrator is a Toyotomi loyalist, while the Tokugawa he is talking about is Ieyasu Tokugawa, who will win the battle, establish the Tokugawa shogunate and his territory of Edo will become capital and eventually modern day Tokyo. It’s basically standard tonal samurai stuff, all “my death brings honour to my family” and that. A bit orientalist in tone here for sure, but there’s an element of truth to be had. The thing is there’s an official Transformers thing from Japan that is exactly this—not exactly, in that Bludgeon isn’t there, but there was a Warring States/Transformers crossover thing during the Age of Extinction windup. [wada sez: Sam was thinking of a collaboration between TakaraTomy and a company that made actual armor/swords inspired by Sengoku period factions, and also wanted to mention that one time the protagonist of Sengoku Basara showed up on Q-Transformers.] The thing about Japan is that this is all happening 500 years ago so it’s about far out enough for this to be easily mined for fantasy stories. Lots of fiction about what if there were literally demons on both sides and such.
Well, I think it's one of the mosaics I've made that I like the most.
I think it is quite complete in many aspects, we have on the one hand a small historical study of documentation.
It is one of the most famous battles in the history of Japan, Sekigahara, which ended up deciding the Tokugawa Shogunate with Oda Nobunaga, for the next 300 years and which was one of the bloodiest in memory.
So... somehow I link what is the IDW transformers universe with real facts, as we know, in the IDW universe some important politicians or military leaders are under decepticon influence, in Infiltration, but... because they couldn't start said infiltration from Japan?
It could have been, and that is what I wanted to propose, so whoever was Shogun won this battle thanks to some decepticons infiltrating their ranks, commanded by a Bludgeon, something that seems obvious to me since its samurai-style design always amazes me. It seemed a bit unjustifiable.
However, the story is told by a general in the ranks of Toyotomi. Trying to follow the samurai spirit a bit, it follows that this samurai is going to die. I took this image from a statue in Japan and it served me very well both for its pose and its shape to convey what I wanted, also, we can say that... it is another nod to something existing.
I know that maybe it is a bit complicated to read, but I was interested, since the story is told by a guy, that the typography was more calligraphic, so to speak.
The last balloon surely costs more, the one in Bludgeon, but it is intentional, as you can see, its appearance is very unpleasant, and I wanted the test globe to convey the same thing, that it be dirty, illegible, aesthetically ugly, unpleasant, in order to help give the personality of Bludgeon, who by the way, already gives a clue about the Infiltration that we said before.
Even so, I think that on the mosaics page there are problems with the resolution, a pity.
If you look closely, my signature appears with Japanese characters at the bottom left, and the whole frame has a great job, the blood stains are evident why I have put them, and if we look at the page as it progresses, it acquires that reddish tone, giving to understand that the battle hardens.
Another detail is the Mosaic logo, which... if we look closely, I decided to put a "What if..." implying that it was a kind of separate universe. In addition, in the header, we have the signs of the two banners, if you search a bit, as a curiosity you will see that the one on the left is the Tokugawa sign, mixed with the decep symbol.
And a little more.... I did the page in pencil with gradients, it is a very grateful technique but somewhat slow and tiring, however, it turned out well.

Hotel Review (Or: My Experience With the Japanese Shining)
If you follow me on my other socials, you may recall I stayed at a ryokan last week in Gero Onsen that bore far too many similarities to Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining”. I thought I’d write out a play-by-play for posterity. Let’s jump into it.
Similarity number one: Getting to this hotel required a long, winding ride through the mountains past many scenic gorges. Luckily, this was done by train. Please see the sample scenery image below:
Without a doubt, this was stunning. The entrance to the hotel was quite scenic, too:
But, let me tell you. Just like the Overlook Hotel, this thing absolutely SPRAWLED up and down the mountainside. Originally built in the 1930′s, this complex has a main building (which was already ungainly to begin with). But THEN, there are two additions--some sort of weird euro-style pavilion, and an annex built in the 1980′s that has not been updated since. A map (SANS-ANNEX! Look how crazy this is even without the annex!) is below:
You can also see the architecture mismatch here--original building on the right, european...thing... on the left. Footbath in the center, that was pretty neat.
So we check in. Immediately, my boyfriend, who has never been to Japan, is thrown when the front desk staff abscond with our shoes and provide slippers to wear throughout the facility, which has plush red carpet in many of the common areas, including this c.1988 coffee room just past the lobby:
Please also note that this room is in A TRADITIONAL JAPANESE building, literally the same building as is visible in this photo.
So, the staff show us to our room. It’s in the annex, which requires us to go down one sprawling hallway, take an elevator to the fourth floor, walk down ANOTHER sprawling hallway, take A DIFFERENT ELEVATOR to the ninth floor, and find our room from there. The room itself hasn’t been updated since the annex was built. It includes strange brown carpeting and furniture in the engawa, plus an open-air bath that feels very...80′s. Despite this, the view was breathtaking.
Here’s where it starts to get a little...Shining-like. The staff give us a very complicated map showing us the location of the public baths, the restaurant, the bar(?) (I had no idea the property contained dining and drinking establishments), the breakfast pavilion, the footbath, etc. Things are only open at very specific hours. At eight o’clock, I suggest to my boyfriend we go to the bar, as it’s finally open.
On the way there, we don’t pass a single soul. In fact, we’ve seen very few people since we arrived. And when we get to the bar, located in the euro-style addition to the complex, we find nobody but the bartender. The bar itself is a very grand, elaborate room. Smooth jazz plays in the background. And it reminds us of something...
This shot does not include the stage with the grand piano and the karaoke stand, behind a barrier of plexiglass due to covid.
The bartender (dressed formally) is a kind Japanese lady who speaks no English. However, she provides us with an English menu, which had some truly unique selections. Please see:
Call me crazy, but I almost wanted to see the private karaoke room. The bartender made sure to remind me we could sing one song for just 300 yen.
So, we have a drink. The bar remains empty. The music continues to play. It’s Friday night. At some point, the bartender DOES manage to loop an unsuspecting Chinese couple inside. They’re some of the few people we’ve seen here. They don’t stay long.
After that, we start getting the sense that this place really...Shines. If you know what I mean. And, once we leave the bar, we can’t help but notice the similarities. I mean, just LOOK at the decor of this place. There are even creepy black and white photos of Emperor Hirohito’s visit here in the lobby:
And then, the crown jewel: We get back to the fourth floor elevator bank.
Seem familiar?
Anyway, this was an unforgettable experience. Can’t say we’ll stay again, but if you’d like to see it for yourself, the property is called Yunoshimakan, located in Gero Onsen, Japan.
Bonus pic: this absolutely unhinged sign on the door to the 9th floor patio:

Fictober Day #5
Prompt: "It's a new day, let's go" No, I did not write anything for the days before this. Didn't even notice it was october already tbh. I probably won't post something for every day past this either, but we'll see. I do have some ideas on how I could continue this particular story.
This is a Frostpunk story detailing a group of people starting their travels towards an already established city in frostland.
Anyway, enough yap, now story:
The cold seeped through the closed window. Chills ran down my spine, I pulled the thin blanket closer to me. It was cold… too cold. Even though it was late spring, temperatures were still down. This just further proved the scientists right. This wasn’t a one time thing. This cold would last. I tried to open my eyes, it was difficult. There was no sunlight outside. Only the dark, cold night. But that could not stop me- us today. I started to remove the blanket, cold quickly assaulting my body. I froze for a moment before quickly removing it completely and throwing over my clothes. Layers upon layers. The warmth embraced me, holding my body still. But it was not enough. To generate more heat I started moving about. I quickly grabbed some notes I made the day before so I wouldn’t forget anything.
Most of the things were already loaded upon the dreadnought. Clothes, food, fuel. 300 people all set for Ignisheim. The burning hope in this freezing hellscape. I rummaged through a drawer, my hand already stiff from the cold could barely hold the glowworm lamp. I fiddled with the mechanism that turned it on as my fingers refused to do as they were told. With a stroke of luck, the lamp sprung to life. I quickly attached the lamp to the strap on my coat. A shimmer of light and warmth in this cold, still night.
With the new found light, I began reading my notes. There wasn’t much I still needed to get on board. The last of my documents, my lamp, my blanket and of course the people themselves. I grabbed my documents and stuffed them all into my suitcase, through the blanket over for additional warmth, as little as that would help. I trudged to the front door, opening it slowly- the moment even the smallest gap opened itself the wind blew the door open, the cold freezing every movement.
I fought against the freezing wind keeping me in, tracking and fighting my way forward. It was dark outside, clouds obscuring what little light the stars and moon would’ve provided. But in the distance it was. Our arch. Our path to survival. The dreadnought. It towered over everything else, glowing in the night. The smell of burning coal was in the air, what years ago would’ve been a horrid smell now seemed to welcome me. Promising warmth and safety.
I started climbing up the stairs, walking through the dreadnought’s paths and tunnels till I reached my quarter. Clothes, a bed, spare glowworms and a picture of Silvia. I sat down, the warmth of the dreadnought, while not perfect, warmed my hands. I started signing the last papers.
Once I was done signing everything the first streaks of light were already out. A new day was here, signalling the start of a new journey and life for everyone that will be aboard this dreadnought. I stepped outside to a place that could oversee the plaza before the dreadnought. And there they were. My people and comrades for this long journey up north. All having assembled here ready to spit into the face of this cold and unforgiving death.
Now it was time… “My people!” I yelled loud enough that everyone could hear me. The chattering of the group quickly became as silent as the snow around us. “Today is the day we will reach out to new lands! Where we will fight the cold for survival in this frozen hell! We will not succumb to the whims of the world! We will reach Ignisheim and reclaim this world as ours! It’s a new day for us, for everyone, so let’s go!” I could see the hope in the eyes of the people, quickly climbing up the dreadnought. 300 people, workers, engineers… children. The journey was long and hard, and even though I didn't want to admit it, I knew not everyone would make it. Anyone of these hopeful people could die. And all I could do was try and slow it down. Setting the alight the flame of hope in their hearts. Because hope is all we have left.
