Hey doll hey!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up early today for a change. I still feel extremely stiff and have a heap of joint pain (thank’s a lot Rheumatoid Arthritis) but I had a bit more energy today, which was wonderful!! Since I was feeling a bit stiff today I decided to just do another quick go to makeup look again, I also have to find the energy to do another Olaplex treatment, my poor hair would not work for me today. . Let’s jump into the Face of the Day ….
Base: I primed my face using Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer (). I color corrected just the inner corner of my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in Brightening Peach. For foundation today I’m using the same combo I wore yesterday …. 3 pumps of BECCA Backlight Priming Filter () and 4 pumps Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation () in the shade 4.5 Medium. I used the smallest amount (4 dots on each under eye) of Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer () in the shade Vanilla for my under eyes. I lightly set my full face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I warmed up my face using the same product from yesterday…. MAC Bronzing Powder () in Matte Bronze. I did not bake at all today.
Eyes: I primed my lids using a light layer of NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using a light layer of Physicians Formula Natural Defense Setting The Tone Finishing Powder ($14.99 at Ulta) in the shade Light (I have also set this pressed powder aside for touch ups through out the day). For today’s very easy eye look I used the ColourPop X Karrueche Collaboration ($15 on their website) The Brown Sugar Palette. I ran the color Jamocha (mid-tone yellow brown matte) through my crease and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and buffed it up to the brow bone. I then used the color Ginger (golden peach metallic) over the remaining 2/3 of the mobile lid. I then deepened the outer v and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid using the shade Sorrel (deep cool brown matte). I then took the color Auburn (warm bronze metallic) and patted it over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid to blend the outer and inner 1/3 together. On the lower lash line I slightly blended more of the shade Jamocha along the lash line and then deepened the lash line using more of the shade Sorrel. I highlighted the inner corners using Hikari Cosmetics Creme Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Honeydew (an icy pink with purple flip). I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and filled the brows in using NYX Micro Brow Pencil ($7 at Ulta) in the shade Espresso. I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then set that using the shade Chai (soft yellow beige matte) and then decided that this was not bright enough so I went back over it using some more of the Physicians Formula Natural Defense Setting The Tone Finishing Powder in the shade Light. I created a winged liner on the upper lash line using Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($21 at Sephora) in the shade Mad Max Brown and then popped on a pair of Ardell Natural Lashes ($3.49 at Ulta) in the style #110. I tight lined the upper and lower waterlines using at 1st ColourPop Creme Gel Colour ($7 on their website) in the shade Stew and then followed that up with Believe Beauty Long Lasting Eyeliner ($3.50 at Dollar General) in the shade Mystic (a metallic rustic brown).I then topped off my top and bottom lashes using the Physicians Formula Lash Contortionist Mascara ($7.49 at Target) in the shade Ultra Black.
Cheeks and Lips: For blush today I’m wearing the same blush I wore yesterday, Burt’s Bees Blush ($9.99 at Ulta) in the shade Bare Peach. I again used the same highlighter from yesterday …. Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Powder ($44 at Sephora) in the shade Highlight 01 to highlight the center of my chin, tops of my cheeks, Cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose, and center of my forehead. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Lumiere (a dusty mauve pink) and filled in my lips using Loreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain ($11.99 at Ulta) in the shade #416 I Create (a soft coral nude).
Final Thoughts: The Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer is new to my collection, I received it from Amazon yesterday and was planning on saving it for my makeup haul post, but when I swatched it… it was so pretty I just had to use it. It’s very illuminating…. very. Not to the point that you look like a disco ball, but just enough that this isn’t a primer you can just wear on it’s own. It dries down completely and holds foundations beautifully. I like this primer much more than I like the Soft Focus Primer in the same line. I would grade this product an A+.
The Loreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain shade #416 I Create is also one of those new items I received this week from Ulta. I received it this morning in the mail and just couldn’t wait till my makeup haul post to play with it. First, this formula is by far my absolute favorite liquid matte formula. It feels like I have nothing on my lips but a tiny bit of lip balm. It wears down evenly and fades slightly throughout the day. It doesn’t bleed into the fine lines of the lips and doesn’t travel outside the lip line. This is the second of this formula I purchased and have another 6 sitting in my cart to purchase next month. I would grade this product an A+++!!! This is a lippie well worth the price tag.
Well…. that’s all for now dolls. I still am waiting on a package for products I purchased from Profusion Cosmetics to do my makeup haul post… in the meantime I also will be posting later on about the eye shadow brushes I purchased from this brand, I’m just letting them air dry a little bit more. I hope the rest of your day/night is a great one and that you are in good spirits. Remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
Quick and Simple Face of the Day Hey doll hey!! How's your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up early today for a change.

Here is probably everything else I wore out and about this year less often or less memorably, I guess? It doesn’t seem like it, but I guess!
eyes:
Recently I’ve been trying to get use out of Subculture’s stone shade, Mercury. I really, really want to do grey and taupe and stone eye looks but I do not have what I need. This particular shade darkens a lot. I want to keep Subculture out to try to do new things with it–make that shade work more with the yellows, use the rosy shades, wear that metallic ONCE (I never have!!). I don’t really even remember wearing the Kristen Leanne palette this year, it was probably either the purple or the gold. This thing really is very pretty but it’s full of the kinds of potential looks I’ve already mastered and am unchallenged by. The UD Nocturnal palette is getting quite old and I’m trying to breathe new life into it–tried some looks with that purple and silver but it’s not the Cool Toned™ look I’m craving… I only use the mattes WnW’s revamped Comfort Zone palette (for how many years will we refer to it like that?) but I like them, as far as neutrals go. That Dior palette came from one of you guys and I’m still trying to figure out what it’s good for–I think I’m going to wear it on my face? That center shade in particular is just lovely for me. These just feel delicious.
Colourpop Sprinkle Me (this is kind of my go-to shimmery neutral “topper” shade, to the extent that I think it makes me lazy and I’m trying to use it left) and Don’t Leave, L’Oreal Infallible in Golden Emerald (these are still so good!), a Stila Magnificent Metals, the old kind you mix with a medium, in Metallic Gilded Gold. I did wear one of the Glitter and Glows this year but I guess it didn’t end up in here! MAC’s Bird of Prey pressed pigment from that LE Star Trek line–this remains just okay for me but I respect my choice to purchase it based on having the best of all the shade names! Bunch of fucking pencils, idk, I’m very lost when it comes to pencils: a NYX jumbo in Cashmere, a NYX retractable in Gold, Milani glitter retractable in Emerald Stone: they are all fine. A lot of this green and gold stuff was my NYE look.
I seem to recall doing an all-over-the-face look with that fluorescent pink Sweetpea & Fay pigment. I still have this! Pigments last forever! I am gonna keep this out for a blush.
There are three Grinch liquid liners from Pur that Westlin got me for Christmas (!) and I’ve been playing around with them. Reader, I’m out of practice. I’m not good at liquid liner. That is why I had coveted this set in the first place, because I didn’t have any and they’re the brush kind, which I always liked back in the days when we all wore liquid liner. But the learning curve is killing me a little bit here.
Two things I got from @madmoths that I’m still playing around with. That CYO mascara is GREEN! A dark green, pretty subtle on bare lashes. I wore it a few times then I wanted to keep it closed for a while until I got a white primer to try it with, so it didn’t dry out (esp given I have 100 mascaras open currently). I will report how it looks over the primer! What color eyeshadow with an evergreen lash? This would be a great time for a milky matte pink or mauve, which I DO NOT have! Strawberry milk + pine is a good colour combination. Then, black cherry or plum (for spring) and maybe mustard yellow. Seems like that is the agenda! Then there is a MAC dazzleshadow in Can’t Stop Won’t Stop. This has a plummy base with a looovely perfect light blue glitter in it, I’m trying to figure out the best way to layer it to bring out the blue. It is part of my cherry for spring plan! Sometimes I feel like I have a hard time wearing dark shades on my lid without feeling too…formal? And this is something I’m trying to get over. I think wearing them in particularly informal settings will help. (Maybe this is reservations about “sexy”?) This would look so good with a powder blue liner.
face:
I realize now that I should have put Anastasia’s Moonchild palette in my more used pile, I had totally forgotten about how all of January I wanted to be tin man. That silver-grey looks very flattering on me, but I want it to look grey. I want a fucking grey face highlighter. Pale princess problems :(
UD’s Bittersweet Afterglow blush, NYX’s Codebreaker ombre blush and Pinky powder blush: these are fine. Becca’s Opal is fine. That WnW Zodiac highlighting bar (Earth) is nice, it’s fine. It kinda made me like Mary Loumanizer, of all things, more, in comparison. That peachy Vera Mona thing is an eyeshadow that I wear as a blush. I am always thinking that I wish I had a peachy shimmery blush and forgetting I have that. I do not recommend those WnW stick blushes. I somewhat strongly recommend the Revolution liquid highlighters and the WnW Hello Halo liquid highlighters, the above are in the shades Liquid Champagne and Guilded (?) Glow. I like the Revolution one marginally better on me, easier to blend out.
I really wanted to like that Hourglass Vanish stick highlighter when it came out and I was amped to get a mini, it was so hyped and well-regarded. The shade is Champagne something or other. Maybe it’s just that I don’t wear foundation? But I don’t find this to be any nicer than any other stick highlighter I’ve tried, and I do like that kind of thing. It’s okay.
That WnW Illuminating Palette is still pretty nice, I feel like whenever I get bored of it I find a new way to use it. I have an idea about that and that little Vintage pink blush-highlight, they are both relatively subtle and very smooth: I think I might try to use them as finishing powders all over my whole face. Will report back.
That Colourpop blush is in the shade Bardot and I’m making a point to use it henceforth, these things don’t have forever shelf lives. It’s nice! I don’t love the super shock formula for blush specifically, I think it’s finnicky on a brush.
Oh! and my City Color Be Matte blush in Fresh Melon. Still my favorite. I’m a little concerned that it’s getting drier, and I cannot replace it!!
lips:
MAC Watch Me Simmer, still maybe my favorite lipstick of all time when I wear it, still haven’t found a dupe, lately I’m into wearing it very blotted out, because their cremes do emphasize lip weirdness and my lips have been VERY WEIRD.
The only thing here whose color isn’t represented well is that Maybelline lipstick. It’s called Fiery Fuchsia and I got it on super clearance. It is fairly similar to the fuchsia from the new Maybelline line, the one Nyma Tang had me wanting to buy, but this one was on clearance for like $3 likely for that reason, AND its # is 810 (flint area code). So far I quite like it, one of my favorite lipstick color families on me is what I call “dark pinks,” which are hot lipstick pinks at a darker value that haven’t been desaturated. This one is the most vibrant one in my collection so far and I imagine it’ll be an everyday shade for me. I’d like to get myself a liner in this family, because I’ve been relying more on liners since my lips have been Extremely Weird.
Here is Fenty’s Vay Cray gloss–this gets less winter time wear from me, because it can emphasize Weirdness, but it is ideal in the summer. Revlon’s HD matte metallic something or other in HD Dazzle is fine, Lucas got it for me hoping it would replace this (the only lip item I have EVER LOST! and mourn daily). It doesn’t, but I like it. More of those Benefit glosses in Hoola and Bella Bamba. Tom Ford Indian Rose: this is really nice especially if you have Weird Lip problems, but I like that Bare Minerals one better, maybe! The Bite Sephora birthday gifts– the stick in Glace and the bullet in Chai–are good, they’re fine, I haven’t learned to love them. I’m mad at Bite because a very very old lipstick I had from them finally got like, lowkey rancid, and it was expensive, and I’m like: what if you didn’t use food grade ingredients, hm? I haven’t found a good reason to wear that green, UD’s Junkie, much since the Christmas season, but I’ll figure it out. That Rimmel is one of my favorite shades,109, but the last time I wore it it was Weird (due to weird lips), so I’ve been afraid of it.
That Colourpop shade is Scorpio Moon (lol of course I bought it) and the quality and experience of it is unbelievable and it makes me want to buy more of them all the time. I’m hoping to get Flower Szn. Their Lux Lipsticks could be the best thing on the market–not just for the price, but for any price–if they kept them consistent and were willing to fill out a permanent range, but they won’t, because they are Colourpop! So they become the best for the price, maybe, but I still think something like Maybelline is a safer bet across the range. Anyway this color is so strange–which is good, it is unique. It turned out to be way more cool-toned on me than I expected, but at the same time it is not cool-toned enough, so I keep wearing it hoping it will be a delicious creamy greige, but it is not. That has been a trend for me this year, I am craving a delicious creamy greige and I have none. Hence these NYX shades, Haze (the straight grey) and Castle (the lavender, what a cute name), both of which I reach for when I want greige, and I end up disappointed, even though they are both good, especially that purple, which is a dear shade to me!

13 New Beauty Launches You Need to Know About in July
Somehow, it’s already July and we’re now officially into the second half of the year. And whilst that is somewhat terrifying, particularly given many of us have spent four of the last six months indoors, the start of a new month has a beautiful silver lining: brand new beauty products to treat yourself to. Here are 13 of the best new beauty launches happening in July that you’re going to want to add to cart.
Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm
Photograph courtesy of Glow Recipe
What you need to know: Cult beauty brand Glow Recipe has released its newest product today in the form of the Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm. The balm works to dissolve makeup, oil and SPF whilst simultaneously exfoliating the skin for a superb glow. The PEG-free formula is made with blueberry extract which helps to fight free radical damage, as well as papaya seed oil and extract to hydrate and soothe. Looks (and smells) good enough to eat – but don’t.
Price: $42
Where to get it: Available from today at Sephora.ca.
Starface Hydro-Stars
Photograph courtesy of Starface
What you need to know: Starface products are now officially available to ship to Canadian shores for the very first time. Launched last year, the brand generated instant buzz thanks to their Hydro-Stars – hydrocolloid pimple patches that accelerate pimple healing and prevent you from picking – which are equal parts skincare and style statement. So make like Lizzo and cover yourself in stars – you’ll never be sad about a pimple again.
Price: $27 for 32 stars.
Where to get it: Starface.world.

The pretty pink bottle was first released last year, and the brand has brought it back for a second so if you missed out last time, now’s your chance to get your hands on one (or five).
Price: $22 for 30ml or $59 for 100ml.
Where to get it: Available July 3 at caudalie.ca.

It was created by master perfumer François Demachy who says of his creation, “I imagined an intense freshness meeting the smoothenss of an Oriental scent. Photograph courtesy of Louis Vuitton
What you need to know: Nuit de Feu is the latest edition to Louis Vuitton’s Middle Eastern-inspired range of scents. Master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud used three different varieties of incense for the refillable fragrance: incense from Somaliland, black incense and incense resin infused with natural leather, as well as oud, musk and wood. “It’s a perfume that does one a world of good. It’s a blend of essential ingredients that have traversed the ages and forged our civilizations. In a world that’s becoming more and more virtual, I wanted to create a perfume that anchors and reconnects us with nature and our collective history,” says Cavallier Belletrud.
Price: $405 for 110ml or $610 for 200ml.
Where to get it: Available now at select Louis Vuitton stores and online at Louisvuitton.com.

I have always loved the Stila Heaven’s Hue Highlighter in the shade Kitten ($32). Literally, it’s one of my all-time favorite highlighters. I think I actually wrote a blog about my fave highlighters and included this? Yes. I did! Back in April. It’s been almost a year and this is still one of my faves! Considering how much makeup I buy and try, that says something.
So when I saw Stila was coming out with a new version, the Stila Shade Mystére Highlighting Face Gloss ($28), I was intrigued. The pics looked like this and i was like, Yes I am here for this. But… was I really? Read on.
The Comparison
I bought the Stila Shade Mystére Highlighting Face Gloss ($28) on a whim in late December when they came out, prior to beginning my low-buy. (See how I snuck that in there?) I was really excited because it looked slightly different than the original – like maybe it would be a little duochrome-y? It’s described this way:
What it is: A lightweight balm featuring three marbleized shades that combine to create a subtle, multidimensional, glossy, colored sheen.
What Else You Need to Know: Blend Shade Mystère Face Gloss all over for a vibrant glow, or spotlight the highest points on your face for a dewy, brightening effect. It leaves skin feeling soft, not tacky. It has the perfect mix of warm and cool shades for universally-flattering, glossy illumination.
On the left is the new Shade Mystére compact and on the right is my original Stila Kitten. You can see how similar the packaging is, so I really expected the same formula! I was wrong.
Maybe I should have known because the description really did describe it as a balm, but… I don’t know. I was still surprised when it showed up and was a greasy, glittery mess. In the description, it says it leaves skin soft and not tacky but I have no idea how that is possible because it’s a greasy, tacky mess. My original Kitten on the right is more of a putty formula, not glittery at all, and just shows up as a sheen versus anything glittery.
Left: Shade Mystére Right: Heaven’s Hue in Kitten
I tried to take a few pictures to show how glittery the Shade Mystere is. Can you tell? I feel like the first picture shows it better. But it’s literally just a balm with glitter in it? It’s awful. I am taking it back ASAP. But because I had raved about Stila’s Heaven’s Hue highlighter in the past, I didn’t want any of y’all to make the mistake I did and think this was the same formula, just because the packaging is the same.
And Yet Another Stila Highlighter!
Additionally, Stila previously released this other highlighter palette that’s different than BOTH of the formulas I just described! It’s the Shine Bright Heaven’s Dew All Over Glimmer Palette (Currently on sale $30, so I feel like this is limited edition.)
Sephora described it like this:
What it is: A palette of three bouncy-to-the-touch, hybrid cream/powder illuminators for an all-over glossy sparkle.
What it does: This palette features three new shades of stila’s Heaven’s Dew all-over, glossy illuminators. Bouncy-to-the-touch, the unique hybrid cream/powder formula contains a translucent base that allows light to illuminate the pearlescent shimmers and micro-fine glitters to create a hyper-lustrous, glistening effect—without the tackiness. The gossamer formula melts into skin for a barely-there feel. Use it alone or layer over your favorite Heaven’s Hue (sold separately) shade for an amped-up sheen. For added sparkle, tap it onto your lip color for a dazzling effect.
This set contains: 3 x Heaven’s Dew All Over Glimmer in Northern Lights (whisper pink), Sedona Sunrise (dusty rose quartz), Santorini Sunset (burnished gold)
Essentially, the Heaven’s Dew highlighters seem like a combo of the two highlighters I initially described. They are very glittery but not in that weird balm-y texture. Instead, it has the same putty, cream-to-powder finish as my original Kitten. So while the shades look very dark in the pans, they really don’t have a dark base shade- they are super glittery.

Santorini Sunset, Sedona Sunrise, Northern Lights
While I do not have it, I feel like this is probably a very similar formula to the Fenty Diamond Bomb ($38). I’ve seen people describe it in a similar way, and check out the description:
Celebrate one glittering year of FENTY BEAUTY with this all-over sparkler that will make you look and feel like a million bucks. Diamond Bomb features a unique jelly-powder formula that’s bouncy, cool to the touch, and melts into skin like butter. This highlighter is loaded with 100-percent pure brilliance to create an all-glitz-no-grit finish that easily decks out every skin tone. Plus, all of this glittery goodness comes in a faceted, jewel-like compact you’ll never want to put down.
I’ve wanted to try the Fenty Diamond Bomb and now I actually feel like I own three different shades of it! I think I still prefer my regular Kitten highlighter for on the daily wear but I think this will look really pretty on special occasions! Like I said, this little Stila palette is limited edition, so if you are interested, you should click on my link and pick it up soon! I think it would look great on all skin tones, too!
Have y’all tried any of these? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

More Holiday 2017 Gift Sets! 10/04/17
Hey, Beauty Lovers! Welcome back to Just Wing It. In this post, I have more Holiday 2017 Gift Sets as promised. There are so many sets that Sephora has come out with for this season but I tried to pick the best bang for your buck sets. So included in this post will be lip sets, mascara sets, and a primer and setting spray set. Let’s jump in!
The first gift set is the Sephora Favorites “Prime, Set, Go.” This set is perfect for someone who wants to try out different primers and see what works best for their skin type. Also, this is a good set to decide if you like setting sprays or not. Some people think it really doesn’t make a difference in the longevity of their makeup. This set retails for $42.00, a $124.00 value and includes:
-Mini-size BECCA First Light Priming Filter
-Mini-size Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
-Mini-size Milk Makeup Blur Stick
-Mini-size Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water
-Mini-size tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist
-Mini-size Too Faced Peaches & Cream Primed & Peachy, Cooling Matte Perfecting Primer
-Mini-size Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray
-Laura Mercier Deluxe Mini Translucent Loose Setting Powder and Mini Velour Puff
So there’s no full-size products in this gift set, but you get 8 really great priming and setting products. I like how Sephora also added a setting powder, not to mention one of the best ones on the market right now. These products range from working well with dry, oily, and combination skin, so there will definitely be a product for everyone in this set.
The next couple of sets are mascara sets. I’m adding two in this post because there’s one huge set and a couple of smaller sets, so I figured I would add one smaller set for the people who don’t want or need a massive mascara set. First, we have the Sephora Favorites “Lashstash.” This is the biggest mascara gift set at Sephora right now and it even includes a pair of fake lashes! Here are all the products included in the set:
-FULL-SIZE Benefit Cosmetics Rollerlash in Black
-FULL-SIZE Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara in Black (NEW product!)
-Mini-size Kevyn Aucoin Beauty The Expert Mascara in Black
-Mini-size Dior Diorshow Mascara in Black
-Mini-size Yves Saint Laurent The Shock Mascara in Asphalt Black
-Mini-size Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara in Black
-Mini-size Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black
-Mini-size MAKE UP FOR EVER Excessive Lash in Black
-FULL-SIZE SEPHORA COLLECTION Lashcraft Mascara in Black
-Huda Beauty Classic Collection Lashes in Samantha #7
This set retails for $48.00 and is a $132.00 value. This is an amazing gift set because just the full size products alone (3 mascaras and fake lashes) would cost $80.00. This is such a good bang for your buck gift set and enables you to try so many high quality mascaras and even play around with fake lashes. I’m really excited about this set and a good reason is because of those lashes.
The next set is also a mascara set, but it’s a mini set and includes only 5 mini-size mascaras. There are a couple of this smaller sized sets that include different mascaras in each, but I’m only including one here to give you guys the gist of what they include. This set retails for $28.00 and is a $52.00 value. This set is the Sephora Favorites “Lashstash To Go” and includes:
-Benefit They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara
-Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara
-Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara
-tarte Tarteist lash paint mascara
-Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Again, all of these mascaras are minis, but there is a hidden gem in these “To Go” sets. Included in this set is a voucher from Sephora that enables you to exchange the voucher for a free full-size mascara from that gift set. This is a great marketing strategy used by Sephora and is a great way to gain loyal customers. Shoppers will get their favorite full-size mascara for free and keep coming back to buy it over and over again.
The next couple sets are all lip sets, and it’s the same deal with the mascara sets where there is one huge one and a couple of smaller ones. The Sephora Favorites “Give Me More Lip” includes 15 lipstick shades, ranging from nudes, pinks, darker browns and reds. This lip set retails for $68.00, a $254.00 value. You get 5 full size products including:
-Huda Beauty Liquid Matte in Bombshell
-tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue in Nude
-Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipstick in Nikki Beach
-Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Vintage-
-Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color in Brocade
The 10 mini lipsticks range from brands such as Too Faced, Urban Decay, YSL, Smashbox, and many more.
There are two smaller Sephora Favorites lip sets, “Give Me Some Nude Lip” and “Give Me Some Bold Lip.” They both retail for $28.00 and the Bold Lip set is a $78.00 value, while the Nude Lip set is a $70.00 value. This is because in the Bold Lip set, you get 2 full-size lipsticks whereas in the Nude Lip set you only get one. Both of these sets include lipsticks from brands such as Kat Von D, tarte, and Bite Beauty.
So many beauty sets! And these kits don’t even amount to half of the Holiday kits that are being sold this season. There are also hair care sets, perfume sets, skin care sets, and sets that are exclusive to one brand. All in all, I like the spread that Sephora has given us this season. I definitely think they’ve added so many more different types of kits and and so many more. Just as a reminder, all of these sets are exclusive to Sephora, but that’s not the only store that sells holiday kits! Be sure to search Ulta, department stores, and even Target or Walmart.
So this is probably going to be the last Holiday Sets post that I include because I could go on for a while if I talked about every single one. I hope this gets you guys excited about this holiday season!
Thanks for reading! Talk to you soon,
Devon

Oh boy, did you think yesterday’s Sephora Skincare was indicative that I’m slowing down on my insatiable consumerism? Nope. I still have a mighty want, especially when it comes to drugstore products. I would buy literally all the products if I had the money- not because I want to partake in rampant consumerism but rather because I’m genuinely curious about these products, who they would work for (and yes, who they wouldn’t), and what dupes exist. Instead, I’m going to break this down into just a few products (and, you know, just a few shades) that I am most interested in trying.
Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer. I have heard so many good things about this bronzer, and as somebody who is terrified of bronzers in general, I’m interested in trying this one out. Who knows- maybe I’ll convert to bronzing in the summer? But the $15 price tag still holds me back.
Revlon Insta-Blush and Insta-Fix Highlight Sticks. I don’t know why I want these other than I have a problem where I keep thinking I’ll like cream formulas, but I have yet to find the right colors to try. Their highlight stick in the shade “Pink Light” looks awesome for my skin, and I kind of want both “Rose Gold” and “Candy Kiss” in the blush sticks. At $12.99 for the blush and $13.99 for the highlight, though, I just can’t justify it quite yet.
CoverGirl TruNaked Jewels Palettes. I’ve been eyeing this since I first saw it several months ago. I don’t typically purchase drugstore palettes, as I don’t typically like the quality, but these colors are just so beautiful that I find myself lusting for it every single time I see it, especially for the purple, blue, and jade shades. $13 really isn’t bad for a palette, right?
CoverGirl Vitalist Health Elixir Foundation. You know me; I see a new foundation, and I want to try it out! This is no exception. It’s supposed to be great for skin, and even though I’ve seen many a dud review, I still want to try this out (you never know what will work for my skin). At $11.99, though, I’m still hesitant. Maybe after I’ve destashed the foundations that don’t work for me currently.
e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation in Light Ivory. Thank the good lord this is sold out, or it would be in my hands now because the $6 price tag is phenomenal. This is their new lightest shade (Porcelain, their old lightest shade, is now Natural). I remember loving how this foundation sat on me, but it was too yellow and too dark, only passable at my darkest in the summer. I want to try Light Ivory now so badly!
L.A. Girl Pro Coverage HD Foundation in White. Being quite fair-skinned, it’s hard to find a good foundation match off the bat… So white mixers are something I’ve very, very interested in. I’ve tried a handful, most without success, but I’ve heard some very good things about the formula of this one. I’d love to pick one up- at $8.99, it doesn’t seem that expensive- but I always seem to forget when I go to place an order online (I can never find this in stores around me).
Maybelline LipStudio Color Jolt Lip Paints. These are a product I’ve been very curious to compare to the Too Faced Melted lipsticks and the L’oreal ones (with the doe foot applicator) as well. The colors I’m most wanting? Never Bare and Berry Naughty. $10 is quite a lot of a drugstore lip, but maybe someday they’ll be on a really good sale and I’ll pick them up.
Nyx Angel Veil Primer. I’ve heard so many positive things about this primer, even though it’s $16 and bordering on mid-range. I have several other primers to go through first, but this is definitely on my list.
NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder in Snow Rose. I have two of these already, but Snow Rose just seems like the perfect (pinky) addition to the icy blue and lavender colors I already own. Do I need to spend another $8 on another highlighter? No. Do I want to? Oh yes.
NYX Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette. I’ll admit that neutral mattes are not my typical “go to” shadows. I’ll also admit that I don’t really know yet how to create a cohesive neutral eye look. Yes, I can rock mauves and purples, but I can’t master the most basic, natural eye. I keep thinking this $10 palette will be the push I need to work hard on the natural eye (but really, I think I have enough).
There are definitely more drugstore products I want, but these are my top ones I’m dying to try out. I don’t need to spend another $136 on drugstore makeup at the moment… but I might save up and go on another spree once I’ve destashed products I know don’t work for me.
Wishlist Week // Day 3: Drugstore Products Oh boy, did you think yesterday's Sephora Skincare was indicative that I'm slowing down on my insatiable consumerism?

Hey doll hey!!! How ya doing today?? Great I hope. I woke up a bit late today, around 8:45 this morning. I meant to wake up earlier so I could still do a great Face of the Day post and still have time to clean my makeup brushes too. I still have some clean brushes so I will still wash my every growing batch of dirty makeup brushes and still have brushes to get ready with tomorrow. I’m feeling a little stiff and sore so I decided just to do my go to makeup look. This just entails 2 shadows, no baking, a glowy primer and mix in, very light amount of concelaer, and no lashes…. It’s just a simple everyday appropriate look. So let’s get started ….
Base: I primed the face using J Cat Beauty Prime & Glow Face Illuminator ($7.99 on their website) in the Licorice formula. I lightly color corrected just the inner corners of my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in the shade Brightening Peach. For foundation today I used a combo of 3 pumps BECCA Backlight Priming Filter ($39 at Ulta and Sephora) and 4 pumps Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation ($44 at Sephora) in the shade 4.5 Medium. I then took only 5 dots of concealer to my under eyes…. the one I used today was Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer ($29 at Ulta) in the shade Vanilla. I lightly set my whole face using Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent and then softly warmed up the face using MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC) in Matte Bronze.
Eyes: I primed my lids lightly using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website). For this look I used the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette ($48 at Sephora). I took a mixture of the shades Ludwin (peachy bronze matte) and Succubus (rich rust matte) and ran that through the crease and the outer 1/3 of my mobile lid. I then ran the shade Lucius (soft beige matte) over the inner 2/3 of the mobile lid I then took just the shade Succubus (rich rust matte) to deepen the outer v and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then used what ever was left on the brushes I used to create a soft drop shadow on the lower lash line. I highlighted the inner corners using Hikari Cosmetics Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in the shade Honeydew (an icy pink with purple flip). I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and lightly filled in the brows using NYX Micro Brow Pencil ($7 at Ulta) in the shade Espresso. I carved out my brows using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and then set that using more of the shade Lucius (soft beige matte). I then tight lined my upper and lower waterlines using ColourPop Creme Gel Colour ($8 on their website) in the shade Stew (Warm brown with a yellow undertone). I primed my lashes using Loreal Voluminous Primer ($8.99 at Ulta) and then used the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara ($8.99 at Ulta) on the upper and lower lashes.
Cheeks and Lips: For blush I used Burt’s Bees blush ($9.49 at Target) in Bare Peach. I highlighted the center on my chin, Cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose, tops of the cheeks, and center of my forehead using Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder ($44 at Sephora) in the shade Highlight 01. I lined my lips using Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Pillow Talk (a nude pink) and filled in my lips using Charlotte Tilbury Revolution Matte Lipstick ($34 at Sephora) in also the shade Pillow Talk (a nude pink).
Final Thoughts: I ended up having to take my foundation off and restarting because I tried to combine J Cat Beauty Prime & Glow Face Illuminator with the Charlotte TIlbury foundation and it just went on patchy and cakey in areas around my face…. Something in this primer doesn’t allow it to be used as a mix in medium…. it’s a pretty primer and I had hoped it would have worked as a mix in medium …. but alas it was not meant to be.
I really love how my skin looks today… very dewy and very fresh looking. I don’t like my lashes today… they look too spidery but this is usually the case when I do my lashes with primer and mascara.
I will be doing a similar look tomorrow because I have a psychiatrist appointment early in the morning and need a makeup look that is quick and easy.
Well that’s all dolls. I do have makeup being delivered this week so I will have a makeup haul post for you later this week. In the meantime…. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and that you are in good spirits. Remember dolls, save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
My Go To Quick and Easy Face of the Day Hey doll hey!!! How ya doing today?? Great I hope. I woke up a bit late today, around 8:45 this morning.

Play by Sephora - March 2017
Play by Sephora is a monthly subscription service that costs $10 per month. Each month you get a selection of beauty products in deluxe sized samples (sometimes full size) to try.
This month’s theme was The Shine Is Now. Glow your own way: from high-wattage shimmer to a natural gleam, this month mixes it up with advanced formulas to create that luxurious, lustrous look with glotions, complexion-illuminating shades, and more breakthroughs for unparalleled radiance.
Keep reading to see what was in my March box.
1. GLAMGLOWGLOWSTARTER Mega Illuminating Moisturizer
I got this sample-sized moisturizer in the shade Nude Glow. The full size retails for $49.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about GLAMGLOW so I’m excited to give this a try.
2. Urban Decay Vice Lipstick
I got this tiny sample sized lipstick in the shade Big Bang. The full size retails for $17.
This lipstick is basically a hot pink glitter bomb, so realistically, I’m not sure when I will ever use this.
3. Verb Ghost Oil
I got this oil in a deluxe sample size, but the full size retails for $14.
As you guys know, I use oil on my hair almost every day, so I’m always willing to try a new fancy oil.
4. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter
I got this highlighter in a deluxe sample size in the shade Opal, but the full size retails for $41.
I actually already own this exact product. I got the BECCA Opal travel kit that includes a mini pressed powder highlighter and a mini liquid highlighter.
I use the powder highlighter all the time, but I think I have only used the liquid highlighter maybe once or twice. But with the warmer months approaching, I can see myself mixing a little liquid highlight in with my moisturizer or foundation to get that effortless summer glow.
5. Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm
I got this product in a tiny sample size, but the full size retails for $36.
As usual, I’m always happy to try a new fancy moisturizer, but I will probably never repurchase.
6. Atelier Cologne Clémentine California Cologne Absolue Pure Perfume
I got this product in a standard fragrance sample, but the full size retails for $130.
I do not like this scent at all. It’s very citrusy and light. I really only like warm, heavy fragrances. But don’t take my word for it because my sister loves this.
Did you like Sephora Play this month?

Day 2 of 31 : Summer
It was another interesting day. I'm having trouble putting what's in my mind on my face. Not that my look today was BAD...it just wasn't quite what I wanted it to be. I guess that's something that may get better as time goes on. I hope. I chose Summer as my theme challenge today. We've had several days of rain and overall shitty weather - it even snowed here a few days ago. But today when I woke up, the SUN was out and just brilliant. I opened the curtains and just let it pour in. I bathed in it. And even though the high was only in the low 60s, the feel of the day got me excited for SUMMER. 🌞🌞🌞 Product List : L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte in 102 Shell Beige Maybelline Master Conceal in 10 Fair Maybelline Fit Me! Set and Smooth in 130 Buff Beige Ulta Sculpting Stick Contour Nyx Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder in Synthetica Ulta Blush in Nude Pink Ulta Eye Shadow Palette L.A. Colors Eyeshadow Palette Bloody Mary Pressed Eye Shadow (This thing is like 10+ years old...) Nyx Double Stacked Mascara Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Mandarin Muse Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil in Peach + Jojoba (I loooooove this stuff! I have it in 3 diff varieties) And, yes, I realize I use an awful lot of Ulta and Nyx products. So, I guess we'll see if I can get it right tomorrow! Wish me luck! And don't forget to follow me on Instagram to see today's finished look! xo Nik

7 New Beauty Launches You Need to Know About in July
Somehow, it’s already July and we’re now officially into the second half of the year. And whilst that is somewhat terrifying, particularly given many of us have spent four of the last six months indoors, the start of a new month has a beautiful silver lining: brand new beauty products to treat yourself to. Here are seven of the best new beauty launches happening in July that you’re going to want to add to cart.
Caudalie Limited Edition Beauty Elixir

What you need to know: To celebrate the start of summer, French beauty brand Caudalie is releasing a special limited edition of its cult-favourite Beauty Elixir. Made with 100 per cent natural ingredients, the Elixir is known for its glow boosting properties – it also tightens pores and is perfect for prepping your skin before applying makeup and setting it once you’re done. The pretty pink bottle was first released last year, and the brand has brought it back for a second so if you missed out last time, now’s your chance to get your hands on one (or five).
Price: $22 for 30ml or $59 for 100ml.
Where to get it: Available July 3 at caudalie.ca.

What you need to know: Giorgio Armani is introducing a new product to its Crema Nera range this month in the form of the Acqua Reviscentalis, a skin-reviving treatment lotion that hydrates, clarifies, brightens and refines skin. The product is formulated with the brand’s signature Reviscentalis ingredient, an extract from the miracle resurrection plant “which stimulates skin protection, detoxification and regeneration by capturing 85 per cent of free radicals,” according to the brand. The formula also contains glycolic acid to help gently exfoliate skin and reveal newer, more radiant skin.

What you need to know: Dior is launching a new iteration of its Sauvage men’s fragrance this month in a brand new 200ml size. The fragrance contains notes of bergamot, mandarin, cardamom, dry amber core, leather, Sri Lankan sandalwood, tonka bean, Papuan vanilla absolute and “candied” raspberry. It was created by master perfumer François Demachy who says of his creation, “I imagined an intense freshness meeting the smoothenss of an Oriental scent. I kept the powerful soul of Sauvage intact by giving it nocturnal accents, an animal attraction and some rounder facets.” The new fragrance is housed in a midnight blue bottle tinged with light to mimic the night sky lit up by stars.
Price: $240
Where to get it: Available now at Hudson’s Bay.
