তাওহীদের মূল স্তম্ভ হলো তাগুতকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করা

তাওহিদ উপাস্যের প্রকৃতিকে বুঝায়। তাওহিদ বা তৌহিদ বা তাওহীদ মানে এক করা, একত্ব জাহির করা”। ইসলামে এর অর্থ  উপাস্যের একত্ব, এই অর্থে যে আল্লাহ একমাত্র 'সত্য মাবুদ'। আল্লাহ্‌ এক এবং তিনি ছাড়া কোনো ঈশ্বর নেই, তাওহিদ ইসলাম ধর্মের কেন্দ্রীয়, একক এবং সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ  বিষয়। #তাওহীদের বিপরীত #তাগুত। তাগুত হচ্ছে এমন কিছু আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে বা আল্লাহ্‌র পাশাপাশি যার উপাসনা করা হয়। আগে তাগুত বর্জন করে তাওহীদ গ্রহণ করতে হয়। তাওহীদের ওপর একজন মুসলিমের সম্পূর্ণ ধর্মীয় আনুগত্য নির্ভর করে। শাহাদাতের প্রথম অংশ (বিশ্বাসের ইসলামী ঘোষণা) হলো ঈশ্বরের একত্বে বিশ্বাসের ঘোষণা। শাহাদাহ তাওহিদের চরম সত্যের সাথে মুসলিমের সংযোগ স্থাপন করে।আল্লাহর একত্ব অর্থাৎ তাওহীদ ইসলামের পাঁচ স্তম্ভের প্রথম স্তম্ভ, যা শাহাদার ভিত্তি স্থাপন করে। রাওহীদ মানে এই বিশ্বাস যে একমাত্র আল্লাহ 'সত্য উপাস্য'। আল্লাহ্‌ ছাড়া কোনো সত্য মাবুদ নেই। শাহাদা হচ্ছে আল্লাহর একত্বের পরম সত্য বা মহাসত্যের সাক্ষ্য। শাহাদাহর স্বীকৃতি ও সাক্ষ্য মুসলিমদের নিশ্চিত হতে দেয় যে তাদের সম্পূর্ণ মনোযোগ আল্লাহর দিকে রয়েছে।

তাওহীদকে শাহাদাতে পুনরায় জোর করা হয় এবং মুসলমানদেরকে ক্রমাগত আল্লাহর একত্বের কথা মনে করিয়ে দেয়। তাওহিদে বিশ্বাস আল্লাহকে আমাদের স্রষ্টা হিসাবে ব্যাখ্যা করে, এটি মানুষের উদ্দেশ্য দেয় এবং একটি বিশ্বাসকে সমর্থন করে যে বিজ্ঞান এবং ধর্ম একসাথে কাজ করতে পারে কারণ বিজ্ঞান আমাদের ঈশ্বরের সৃষ্টি সম্পর্কে বোঝার জন্য সাহায্য করে।

From Greek to Baroque - Syracusa, Ortigia and Montalbano(?)

Following our trek up Etna, we proceeded south to the old Greek town of Syracusa, and it's linked island of Ortigia. Soon after Naxos, the Greeks(Corinthians) established their settlement in Sicily at Syracusa, 733 BC or specifically, Ortigia. Syracusa quickly grew due to it's favourable trade position. Syracusa grew to become the largest Greek city in the world and got up Athen's nose. In 413 BC, the Greeks from Athens assembled the largest armada ever seen to put the Syracisians in their place. But, they were the ones who lost! Syracusa took a lot of Athenian slaves and used them to further establish the city from the limestone quarries. At it's height, Syracusa was the supreme power in Europe. Our first encounter were the ruins from 300BC of the largest Greek theatre in Italy, and only 2nd largest in the world to Ephesus. The slaves had excavated the theatre directly from the quarry/ Hill - it was not manufactured. It was able to seat 50,000 people. Sicily has many different influences due to it's location and everyone wanting to take it over. Over the years there were Greeks, Carthaginians, Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Spanish and Italians. Near to the Greek theatre is a Roman Amphitheatre. It seated 15000 patrons, could be filled with water for slave boat fights, and had 2pillars in the centre of a pool for gladiator fights. In the old archeology park built into the limestone quarries, were aqueducts and natural features. An interesting one, was a large cave called the Ear of Dionysius. It got it's name from a cheeky famous artist - Caravaggio. When Caravaggio was on the run after killing his lover's husband, he spent time in Siracusa. When he saw the cave, he decided to invent a story - and that was that at the other end of the cave, the ruler Dionysius would listen to the slaves talking. However, these theatres are largely in ruins due to the extensive pillaging, and then, the massive earthquake in 1693 that destroyed the town. Syracusa today, is all Baroque. Interestingly, nearby is a Commonwealth war cemetery with 15 Aussies buried there. We spent all our time in Syracusa on the small attached island of Ortigia. Ortigia was the original site of old Syracusa due to being an island that could be defended. Mussolini connected the island by 3 bridges. Syracusa/Ortigia was the birthplace of Archimedes. In his day, Archimedes was key in defending Syracusa from the Romans. He established a mirror defence system that supposedly set the Roman Fleet alight. Eventually, the Romans returned and were successful in defeating the Syracuseans and killed Archimedes for his troubles. Our time on Ortigia was spent wandering the streets, enjoying the architecture and shops, eating and drinking. We also enjoyed a fun afternoon on the water exploring the coastline, caves and having a swim. And to wrap it all up...many of the film shots of the famous detective TV show, Montalbano, are shot in and around Syracusa. Whilst enjoying an afternoon Spritz, we thought we had become part of an episode. But no! We were actually witnesses to a high drama crime in action. The fun started when a motorbike sped through an alley, collecting one of the tables at an outside cafe, and then slowed to allow the passenger to jump off and start running straight past us. Our next sight of the young man was him being held in an arm lock by a muscly bloke with an earring , who we think was an undercover cop. The young man was placed on the ground, handcuffed and questioned with great gusto until eventually 2 police cars arrived to take the unfortunate away. No pictures- the girls wouldn’t let me in case I was arrested too!

আল্লাহ্‌ একমাত্র সত্য উপাস্য

#তাওহীদ হলো আল্লাহর একত্ব ও অদ্বিতীয়তা জানা, বিশ্বাস করা, ঘোষণা করা, মান্য করা। আল্লাহর একত্ব অর্থাৎ তাওহীদ তিনটি অংশ নিয়ে গঠিত। (i) তাওহীদ আর-রুবুবিয়াহ (আল্লাহ্‌র প্রভুত্বের ঐক্য বজায় রাখা)। (ii) তাওহীদ আল-আসমা-ওয়াস-সিফাত (আল্লাহর নাম ও গুণাবলীর একত্ব বজায় রাখা)। (iii) তাওহীদ আল-ইবাদাহ (ইবাদতের ঐক্য বজায় রাখা)। আল্লাহ একমাত্র 'সত্য মাবুদ'। আল্লাহ্‌র সাথে সংশ্লিষ্ট সকল বিষয়ে আল্লাহ্ এক, একক, চুড়ান্ত, পরিপূর্ণ ও অংশীদারমুক্ত। তাঁর কোনো সমকক্ষ বা সমতুল্য নেই। আল্লাহকে জানতে হবে তাঁর সুন্দরতম নাম ও পরিপূর্ণ গুণাবলী দ্বারা। প্রথম মানুষ এবং প্রথম নবী আদম (আ।) থেকে শেষনবী মুহাম্মদ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম পর্যন্ত সকল নবী ও রাসুলদের মূল আহবান ছিল 'লা ইলাহা ইল্লাল্লাহ' (আল্লাহ ব্যতীত কোনো 'সত্য উপাস্য' নেই)। যথা: 'লা ইলাহা ইল্লাল্লাহ আদমু শফিউল্লাহ'', 'লা ইলাহা ইল্লাল্লাহ' নুহুন নাজিউল্লাহ '', 'লা ইলাহা ইল্লাল্লাহু ইব্রাহিম খলিলুল্লাহ', 'লা ইলাহা ইল্লাল্লাহ মুহাম্মদুর রাসুলুল্লাহ'। তাওহীদের মূল রোকন তাগুতকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করা।
