- This is a dangerous match up for Romano. He loves his brother and doesn't do outward violence. He is more of the person that dose sneak attacks. Italy knows that, he knows his brother's tricks. Which might end up with Romano hurt for a little. Not forever. He'll come back. Just a perk of being a human country.

- Italy is on the winning end seeing his hatred for his brother. Though his brother knows him best and seeing there immortality status, it'll be hard for him to take him out of commissions for a few days. Though Romano has an upper hand with sociality. Just over nicer looking then Italy (who would want to go up to a glaring knife wielding maniac)

- I would say overall italy has the upper hand on getting rid of the other. His ability to get rid of his brother and push aside his feelings for his goal is his strong suit. Though on getting their S/O to fall in love natural with them. Romano wins out. His charming personality and rich status is a draw for her. It's depend how the two wanna play the game overall. If it's by force then italy wins. If it's natural then it's Romano.

{Various ship headcanons because why not? Will be added to as I come up with more headcanons. Most of these involve the many ships I have with a long-time friend of mine, btw, so please don’t feel left out if the ship I have with you isn’t included in this. Like I said, I’ll probably be adding to this. If you yourself have any headcanons about any ship I have (mentioned here or not), tell me! I’d love to hear them~}

Nataliya/2P Belarus (snieh-pryncesa) was likely the one who made him realize he deserves help from others and doesn’t have to take on everything alone like he was doing before he met her during World War Two. He’s still working on that, though.

Gil & Júlia/2P Hungary (hungariia) sometimes take chill walks together, either talking or just enjoying each other’s company.

Gilen & Iain/2P Scotland (iin-defens) write/send love letters to each other.

Gilen & Madd/2P Fem Canada (corruptedmapleleaf) take daily walks together in the woods near Madd’s cabin. They also camp out there some nights. They do bird-watching as well.

After Angelina/2P Fem South Italy (gioielli-del-suditalia) falls asleep and Gil's still awake, he's looking over at her with the most awestruck and loving look. He starts to softly more or less ramble how much beautiful she is and how he obviously doesn't deserve someone like her, but she's stayed with him and loves him equally as much. Bonus if Angie secretly stays awake to listen to him. 

Angelina also gets Gil to dress out of his fashion comfort zone from time to time, taking him to more fancy/expensive stores and she’s almost always impressed with how he ends up looking in the new clothes.

After they got on far better terms as friends, Gil & Ryszard/2P Austria (hoellenfeuer-und-edelweiss) eventually started to crush on each other and it was an awkward yet adorable mess. Germany teased Gil about it and Rys being unable to do his usual eloquent and suave way of wording things around Gil, stumbling over his words.

Another Gil & Rys thing is that when they finally got into a romantic relationship, it took a while for Gil to become comfortable with receiving physical affection due to him refusing it from Rys for so long. Rys was more than willing to wait for Gil to adjust to things, as this is rather new for both of them. Even though Rys waited who knows how long to have Gil regard him in a positive light, he’ll do what can to make Gil as comfortable as possible. If that means taking things slower and letting him know when he’s going to hug him or whatever, then he’ll do it. They’re both understandably touch-starved from each other, since they were very affectionate when they were younger. Being separated by the rift that formed between them over time only worsened that. So they’re gonna make up for that in any way possible.

Gil & Rys have days where they spend a few hours playing acoustic guitars together and probably have each other guess which riffs the other is playing. They also have times where they have more energized jam sessions with Gil playing the electric guitar and Rys playing the bass guitar. Rys totally ends up staring in awe when Gil does guitar solos. There’s total heart eyes during loves songs as well.
